Thinking about Jon’s time with the Circus again. Thinking about what a month spent in a refrigerated warehouse would do (because it would have to be refrigerated, wouldn’t it? it’s meant to store waxworks), just how cold his skin would be. Do you think it even still felt like his skin? Do you think his fingers brushed the skin of his arm and felt only the inhuman chill of wax, and his arm received the touch of his hand and felt only the dead press of plastic?

Thinking about how thoroughly his time with the Stranger would have made him a stranger to himself.

You see, Martin says 'I grieved for you' to Jon, but this doesn't do justice for just what he would have gone through.

As most people know, having a loved one in hospital is horrible, but Jon's case is an entirely different thing. Assuming Jon was initially taken to a hospital in Great Yarmouth, it would've taken Martin a while to get there, even if he left right away. He might have missed Jon's emergency treatment, but he certainly didn't miss the worst of it.

Many people assume that CPR is a quick, simple, lifesaving procedure, it is not. Jon was found not breathing, and without a pulse, so he would have had at least 20 minutes straight of CPR, and that messes up a body. On a person as weak as Jon it would badly break ribs, and cause a lot of bruising. Even if Martin didn't have to watch Jon's chest be crushed to no avail, that type of damage is often visible.

I don't know if you've ever seen a dead body, but it's different to an unconscious one in every way. Jon of course, was not dead, but he would absolutely look it. As I'm sure you know, blood being pumped is what keeps the body warm, and breathing accounts for a large part of what we perceive as living, so the absence of both of these, especially in a loved one, is jarring, and likely to send anyone into shock

In lots of TV shows you see doctors calling deaths, but in reality it's actually quite a difficult thing to diagnose. It's not a quick check of the pulse and you're done, there's a lot of tests; there are many conditions that can look like death. In Jon's case his mind and nerves were still active, meaning it would have been picked up on fairly quickly, but Jon would have been assumed dead until these tests were completed.

The thing with a case like this, is there's nothing the doctors can feasibly do; as Elias says, it's an unknown quantity. The most likely course of action would be to make him as comfortable as possible, and redo the death checks every so often. There would be no hope for his recovery, but legally the hospital would have to do this, and would be able to offer very little comfort.

Although of course you want your loved one to survive, many family members of coma patients confess to hoping that they'd just die. The limbo of waiting is impossible to process, and having them there but having no way to communicate with them can be excruciating. There's no way to properly grieve for someone if you always have it in the back of your mind that they could wake up.

Giving up on someone like that is terribly and awfully painful. You can tell them you're sorry all you want, but you'll always be thinking about how they'd have wanted you to stay. Having to create both sides of an interaction like that when truly you're in control of neither is simply impossible to recover from.

Every action Martin took after Jon's death was justified, logical, even. To succumb to the lonely after leaving the man you love, sentencing him to die alone?

It feels right.

the real question I have, is how many of Maggie/Aaron's followers on social media spend their time shipping the two of them together/assuming they're secretly dating/waiting for them to get together?

I've noticed people do this on tiktok with people who make content together all the time, and I want to know if people do, and how Maggie and/or Aaron feel about it if that happens lmao

LMAO you know how people are on social media, humans do really reallyyy love to speculate & project on such things, so I would say that yes, just like you've assumed, a big amount of their followers think they're actually a couple, but just hiding it + another portion hoping for them to become a thing one day. Like, if one of them would say they're not actually are a couple, it simply isn't believed, or follows with people rooting for them lol.

BUT!!! THEY'RE TOTALLY AWARE OF THAT ASPECT and also like to bait people into thinking they have a thing for each other, as after all, they REALLY like to farm for reactions. Like look, these are the kinda pics they post??? You can't tell me they don't enjoy the rumor mill.

Which doesn't much help their allegations, or what I'd also like to say in Aaron's case, it kinda benefits him, as online he does mostly like to either hide or rather cryptically talk about the fact that he hasn't been much involved in relationship stuff yet (+ another relating fact, but Maggie DID offer him privately in a semi-joking manner to take his virginity, not because she is extremely interested in him, but bc she likes to believe this aspect is a small burden on him and she'd genuinely help him with her generous favour LMAO).

Their personal feelings? Well, Aaron usually loves the attention ofc, and Maggie thinks it's fun & hilarious to stretch it out this much.

I’m aimlessly planning out random things for my version of Saint Greer and I got to thinking about the storyline behind the town that I have going in my personal gameplay. Beneath the veneer of lovely small town charm lies a war that has been brewing for millennia. So if I were to actually offer the world for download (like I eventually plan on) there are different factions you can choose your sims to be in so you can make up your own stories:

Vampires - Whose goal is to subjugate the town to use as their own personal feeding zone. Over the centuries, vampires can gain power and hone in on their abilities so some vampires are much more formidable than others.

Werewolves - Hunted down to near extinction by the vampires. All vampires have an instinctual hatred for these beasts, as they are the only beings who are the physical equal of the vampires. As a result, werewolves are known to be loners in the hopes of not attracting the attention of others.

Witches/Wizards - Vampires and wizards have been at war with each other for millennia. Those who have magic flowing in their veins have the ability to instantly kill vampires with the sunlight spell. Due to that fact, the leaders in the vampire community only consider wizards to be their true equals.

Faeries - Commonly considered as the weakest of the supernaturals, there is one horrible feature of Fae that has often been used against them: their blood can be used to improve or strengthen the power of vampires. Because of this, faeries are often hunted down, kidnapped and used as a source of power for vampires. So you can expect that they tend to keep to the forests and shy away from strangers.

Djinn - Unbeknownst to all of the other factions of supernaturals, the Djinn are in fact the most powerful due to such powers as controlling the will of others and altering reality. Buuut they have one fatal flaw - they are often too lazy to bother interacting with other supernaturals and derive most of their pleasure in trolling and annoying anybody they come across. So if you ever see a sim acting strangely….they may in fact be a Djinn in disguise.

and last but not least…

Humans - The biggest population of the town.

About Aili's outfit

(And why she's Buddhist now)

Hi hi!

It has come to my knowledge that Aili's outfit is not completely wrong, but isn't vetted either. When muslims do show reveling clothing (which is not often) they don't wear a hijab, they leave their hair out, like in @kairasims's post, with the suit. When they do wear a hijab they are expected to give full covering, because of their religious beliefs and value's.

I won't be taking my post down though, I'll simply edit her more in cas later today, and adjust her fit.

Another thing is, I'm changing her to a buddhist because I don't feel completely comfortable making muslims sims, as I do not know that much on the subject.

I'm sorry if I inconvieneced anyone in any way, and also, I checked google this time, buddhist's wear head-coverings or hijabs when their sick so let's just go with she was a little sick in that post.

Sorry if this came out rude or mean, this was an absolute nightmare of an experience for me and I do not wish for it to happen ever again. If you think it's rude or insulting of me to not make muslim sims, i'm sorry for that, I just do not feel comfortable on the subject of creating a sim that I do not fully understand their culture and religion.

You might be thinking; Just do your research! I did and the internet on the topic of islam is not completely trustworthy or vetted, it's also really confusing for me.

If you're still angry about the situation, then please don't write anything mean on my blog, attack me, or just be overall rude in anyway, take your bad vibes somewhere else.

Thanks for understanding, sorry for the inconvience and the lack of appropriate cultural representation!

Exclusive interview with Sim Business

After the passing of the business mogul Maeve Root, her daughter Judith Root steps up to claim the throne of the Root empire. Sim Business sat down with the heir and asked three burning questions.

What started as a small company selling nutrient bars has grown into a multi-branch corporation offering a full lifestyle. These days, the Root name adorns – in addition to healthy snacks – a gym chain, a clothing line, and bottled water.

Even as the business grew, Maeve Root and David Root held on to the majority ownership of the brand built around their name. Now that ownership has transferred to the next Root in line.

Do you think the brand still has growth potential, Judith Root?

"Definitely," Root replies without hesitation. "But my mother's passing has prompted some organizational changes. We're currently focusing on seeing them through, not on growth."

David has been known as the other head of the corporation, albeit not having a role as visible as Maeve did. Is his position changing as well?

"My father doesn't have an active role in the corporation anymore," Root confirms. "That changed already before I was appointed to the board. We aim for a smooth transition of ownership."

"Water isn't essential only for plantsims; it's essential for everyone," Root says. "Focusing on what connects instead of separates is a core value for the corporation."

One more question. Are you aiming to be the new Maeve Root?

"No," Root replies firmly and pauses. She looks steadily at the interviewer with her bemusingly green eyes. "That would be hard to achieve, don't you think? My mother was one of her kind. So, of course not. I want to make this position my own."

Sim Business is eager to witness what the Root empire will look like under the new leadership. We quite agree – there was only one Maeve Root. But even after a short interview, it seems clear there is only one Judith Root as well.
