sometimes im grateful that i basically wasnt allowed to wear makeup growing up but other times (like now) I'm so annoyed that i never went against my mom and just experimented with products
#like for graduation im going bare faced because I have literally no products and I'm not about to go and buy some and experiment with stuff#for such an important event ygm#and the grateful part is mainly because Im so susceptible to hating my appearance that makeup would just make things worse for me#like filters made me believe i looked like someone i don't and when i would see my actual face and i didn't like what i saw#......still trying to fix that tbh but i have a loooong way to go#and i know w makeup i would start to prefer my face with it to the point where id find my bare face ugly..........#but anyway....these eye bags aren't going anywhere and i look sickly (bc anemia and stress hahahahaha) and the only way to look even a litt#decent would be to do makeup but IM NOT GONNA DO THAT#literally tried practicing eyeliner last week and i did so bad that i knew there was no way#i could practice and get good before next week LDKSAFJLDKJSAFKD#damn thats a lot of tags....#sorry i had coffee when i didnt need the caffeine and I'm avoiding starting this paper#so here i am yapping about something stupid#tastalks

vox would probably enjoy a night in the most, honestly, fans can irk him a fair bit, and he wants tonight to be about you and him alone
he’d probably get some of his more decent employees to be like waiters, and let’s be real, even if you were only in vox’s quarters, you both would still be dolled up
seeing as this is only the first date, vox’s “show host” persona is still very present, he’s not ready to let his walls down quite yet, he’ll sit there and boast about how fucking amazing he is for most of the date
but you’d be surprised, when you speak, vox won’t shut down anything you’d say, he’s an extremely good listener — it mainly comes from how he has to listen to boring meetings, even when he doesn’t want to, but as much as he won’t admit it, he could listen to you talk anyday
when the end of the date comes, you’re either gonna end up spending the night at his, whether it ends in sex with him or falling asleep on the couch together in the middle of a movie is a bit of a 50/50

then you goes would probably stop at a food court and she would sit there and just yap, i can see velvette as a big rambler, she can be very expressive with her words, especially when it comes to her passion topics, so she really grows to appreciate you if you decide to hear her out
and side note; if you guys run into one of her fans, she’ll make sure you see it, she needs you to know how fucking hot and famous she is

“It was, it really was, my dear, but I got a call and Graham Norton wants you on his show as his musical guest.” Y/N manager, Milagros, said. Y/N got a water bottle out of the mini fridge by the soundboard.
“Graham Norton? I didn’t think I was popular enough with the UK crowd, I just started.” Y/N said, drinking water.
“Your song was in a movie, you gained a lot of fans from that. Plus, you’d be surprised how many Europeans LOVE Latinas. Would you be interested? He wants you in 2 weeks.” Milagros said
“I don’t know if I can, I don’t even watch the show.” Y/N said.
“Well, i thought you’d be interested since Henry Cavill will be one the guests.” Milagros said, she turned to leave the studio.
“In 2 weeks, right?” Y/N asked.
“Yes! Okay so Henry Cavill will be there with Eiza González, and Henry Goulding. I’m gonna make the call, continue recording, this song is going to be a hit, I know it.” Milagros walked away to make the call.
“Okay compa, do we start from the top?” Y/N asked, stepping into the booth.
“Yes, that would be preferable.” The music producer said.
Y/N was backstage getting her makeup done.
“Oh my god, I’m so nervous. I’ve seen what people have said about Renee Rapp and how she has no media training, these people will rip me to shreds.” Y/N began to panic to Milagros.

You’ve been working for this, you’ll be great.” Milagros said. Y/N was wearing a decent performance outfit that’s also TV appropriate.
“And welcoming the Latin Pop Princess of the moment, here’s Y/N L/N singing her hit, ‘Arranca’” Graham announced and Y/N walk out on stage wearing this.
She sang her song and everyone applauded. Y/N walked over to sit next to Henry Goulding.
“Y/N, that was a spectacular performance, honestly.” Graham complimented her.
“Oh thank you, I was very nervous, this is my first TV appearance.” Y/N responded.
“Does not seem like it. I’ve heard that you are a big fan of Henry Cavill.” Graham said.
“Oh yes, I really am.” Y/N responded, nodding her head excitedly.
“Are you a fan of his shirtless movie scenes?” Graham asked and Y/N laughed a little before catching a glimpse of Henry who looked a little uncomfortable with Graham’s question.
“No actually, I became a fan of his when I discovered that he’s into Warhammer as well.” Y/N replied and Henry looked at her.
“Really?” Henry asked.
“Yes! I’ve collected quite a few, sometimes I just don’t have the time to paint all of them so there are a few figurines left untouched.” Y/N said.
“Whenever you finish painting, we should play together sometime.” Henry said.
“I’d like that a lot actually, it’s a dream come true to okay Warhammer with the great Henry Cavill, are you kidding?” Y/N said and there a few laughs.
“So Y/N, you’re still new to the industry, only being signed for what, 5 months? How did you get discovered?” Graham asked
“Well, my friend was holding this fundraiser because she runs that performing arts school in New York, the one Timothee Chalamet went too…” Y/N started and there were cheers in the crowd. “Yeah, Timothee is popular, anyway, she needed to replace a performer who got sick, she knows I sing, so instead of playing world of Warcraft that night, I was singing on stage and this woman, who is now my manager, came up to me with this tall guy and said I had a really great voice and if I was interested in becoming a singer.” Y/N said.
The last 6 minutes of the show was just Y/N answering questions because she is new to the industry. When the show finished, Y/N was walking backstage when she felt someone touch her shoulder. She turned around and saw Henry.
“You play world of Warcraft too?” Henry asked.
“Yeah, I do. Along with The Witcher, it’s actually the reason why I became a fan of you. I know I said it with Graham, but it’s awesome that there’s a celebrity with the same hobbies as me, you know? Besides, it’s fun to surprise people who only see me as a pretty face.” Y/N said.
“Yes, I feel the same way, a lot of people see my body and they become a fab of me because they think I’m hot.” Henry said.
“I mean you are hot, but you are so much more than that.” Y/N said
“What do you feel about getting dinner with me right now?” Henry asked. Y/N looked down at her outfit.
“Let me change and I’ll let Milagros know.” Y/N said.
“I’ll wait for you outside the door so we can leave together.” Henry said and Y/N went to her dressing room and told Milagros everything.
“Ay mija, Im so excited for you. Have fun, tell me everything.” Milagros said, giving Y/N her change of clothes.
Y/N walked out and saw Henry on his phone. He looked up as soon as he heard the door open and close.
“You look great. Let’s go.” Henry said, holding out his arm so Y/N could hold on as they started walking out of the studio.

You made a huge mistake with not taking the numbing cream.
It hurt like hell.
There wasn’t anything else to do though, all you could do was sit and let Rhea do her work.
“So do you have a lot of friends here?”
“Not really, just the one I’m staying with.”

“I havent really had time or the courage to go out and meet people.”

You looked at the mirror in front of you. Your hair actually looked decent, and your face didn’t give you any problems. It was a good day look wise for you.
“Why don’t you come over to my place tomorrow? Me and the boys here are gonna order in some pizza and play some games.”

“Not at all, I’ve actually been looking for another girlfriend, but it seems like no one really fits my vibe except for you.”
You smiled at yourself in the mirror
“Sure!”
You stood in front of the mirror in your room, checking out your outfit for the 30th time that hour.
You didn’t want to go too far, but you didn’t want to underdress.
You had some baggy jeans on with a black sweater that fell off f your shoulder. Your hair was up in a bun, and your makeup was minimal.
Either way you didn’t have time to change. Rhea told you to be there a bit early so you could be there before the boys.
So you had to leave now anyways.
You grabbed your purse and headed out quickly, letting your roommate know that you were leaving.
Surprisingly Rhea only lived 10 minutes away, so you just walked over there to her apartment.
To say you were overthinking would be an understatement. You didn’t want to embarrass yourself, but at the same time you didn’t want to be seen as a try hard either.
When you knocked on the door Rhea answered with keys in her hands.
“Hi Y/n, I’m so sorry to ditch you for a second but I have to run and grab some chips at the store, can you stay here with Damian for a second?”

You smiled and nodded
“Of course! Take your time!”
“Great, there are drinks in the fridge if you want one. If not make yourself at home. Bye Damian!”

You waved goodbye and made your way into the apartment. Looking around as you headed towards the main area.
You found Damian on the loveseat, clearly comfortable with the way his legs were spread.
You felt your face heat up again, trying to keep your composure around this man.
There’s no way you could actually be crushing on this dude, you barely even know him.
“I wouldn’t sit on the big sofa, Finn and Dom usually spill a ton of beer on it.”
Damian spoke up, snapping you out of your thoughts.
“Where would you recommend I sit then?”
“The only non gross spot is next to me, I don’t bite I promise.”
You chuckled awkwardly and made your way over to the seat, noticing that he was watching you move.
It didn’t make it easier for you.
“Where are you from again?”
“Washington”
You heard him hum in approval.
“Did you have a specific reason?”
“Not really. I needed a change of scenery and to be honest I really didn’t have any reason to stay in Washington”
“No friends, or family? Not even a boyfriend?”
“No, no, and definitely no.”
You looked up for a second and saw him nodding.
“You thought I had a boyfriend?”
You laughed a little, trying to lighten the obvious awkward situation.
“I mean, it’s not a insane guess”
You held your breath for a second. Either you were insanely delusional or he was flirting with you and you didn’t know how to deal with either situation.
“You want a drink?”
Luckily Rhea showed up a few moments later and pulled you out of the awkward situation.
Then again it was really just awkward because you made it that way.
Soon the others showed up and before you knew it you were playing card games with all five of them.
You had found out that the ‘JD’ in the shop name stood for ‘Judgement Day’

He was still in training.
You had drunk a beer and was holding your second, taking your time so you wouldn’t get sick.
“Hey Y/N, you need to stay the night tonight?”
Rhea asked as you were putting away plates and such.
“I really don’t want to intrude on my first time here, I can get a Uber-“
“Stay the night, you can borrow some of my clothes.”
“Rhea I-“
“It’s no longer a question Y/N, you’re staying the night.”
You just smiled and shook your head, turning around to head over to the trash.

You just once again smiled and side stepped away, running back to the love seat and plopping down, pulling out your phone to check your face.
Dammit, you were right.
You rubbed your eyes, trying to make it seem like you were just tired or it was the alcohol.
But you felt his eyes on you.
You weren’t creeped out by any means. He was very very attractive, and you wouldn’t necessarily mind being in a relationship with him.
But, you didn’t know how to go about it, which flustered you more then needed.
Finn and Dominik didn’t leave until 11 at night, so you were more than exhausted when they did leave.
You had leaned back and closed your eyes, listening to the sounds around you.
“You falling asleep?”
You opened your eyes, watching Damian walk into the living room.
“Not yet”
Damian made his way back over to the couch, flopping beside you.
Way closer than normal.
You could smell the Tequila mixed with his musky cologne on him.
“So you are seriously single?”
“Yeah, why does that keep surprising you?”
“It is really, have you ever dated anyone at all?”
“Nope, no one has really caught my attention.”
You mumbled that last part, finding literally anything except for him to look at.
“Not even now?”
You paused for a second, your brain taking an extra second to comprehend what just happened.
“I mean-“
“Hey you guys, you can sleep wherever I don’t really care, but I’m going to bed”
Thank god for Rhea.
“Yeah, goodnight Rhea”
“Goodnight.”
Rhea waved and walked back into her room, leaving you two together.
“I’m going to sleep.”
You mumbled, reaching over to turn off the light.

Part 1
Hi, my name is Hwei and I’m a misunderstood artist. Well, that’s not exactly true. My Parents hate my art and they think it’s just a waste of time. But under the name DemonBrush I’m known all around the world, my art account just recently hit two million followers. Which didn’t help me at all in my real life. I’ve been 18 now for a few months but my parents still act like I’m 16. I haven’t finished school yet and I can’t move out because my anxiety has made working impossible so far. My parents don’t allow me to get therapy or meds and I’m on their insurance so there’s nothing I can do. I sigh and try to think about something else but looking out my small window into the dark December morning isn’t helping. I go and pull the curtains, turn on my fairy lights and sit at my small desk that is crammed between the bed and the heavy wooden dresser.
My reflection stares at me in the mirror, dark shadows under my amethyst eyes, a sign that I slept terribly, once again. The nightmares wouldn’t leave me alone. I sigh and start doing my makeup, nothing bright, just some smudged dark eyeshadow and black eyeliner on my waterline. My mom was probably gonna complain again but I don’t care. Last week she told me “People might think you’re gay!” Yeah, sure mom. I mean, why do you think I have all these Heartsteel posters hanging in my room? Because I love their one song so much? But when she says "gay" she means "lesbian". She would have an aneurysm if I tried to explain to her that I’m trans. And then she would probably throw me out. As if she could read my thoughts, I hear her shouting from downstairs “Come down immediately, Hwa! I can hear that you’re up.”
Ugh.
I throw on a black oversized hoodie that matches my skinny jeans (also black) and put my dark juniper green hair in a messy bun before I run downstairs as quick as I can. Better not make mom wait, she’s awful enough as is.
When I enter the kitchen, I almost bump into a large man in a suit that is standing next to my mom.
“Oh fuck, sorry!” I quickly say, getting a death stare from my mom but for once she doesn’t even berate me for swearing. She just looks between me and this dude, who was wearing dark sunglasses (in December!) for some fucking reason.
“Who is this?” I ask after a few moments of awkward silence.
“My name is Mr. Mundo, nice to meet you, Hwa.” His voice fits his impressive stature perfectly.
My mother steps forward and puts her hand on my shoulder, looking at me more seriously than I have ever seen her. “You know that we haven’t had the easiest time since dad lost his job. And since you refuse to work and pay your share, we had no other choice.”
“What do you mean? What choice?” I ask, slowly starting to panic.
“You’ll go with Mr. Mundo, he has a job for you where you’ll work for six months. You’ll get a room and food and the money goes to pay back all the debt you owe us.”
“Debt? What do I owe you?”
“Darling, you've been living and eating here for free for 18 years!”
“This is insane!” I yell at her. “You’re selling me? You are a monster!”
“Selling? It’s just temporary honey, and it’s a decent job, don’t make it sound worse than it is!”
“You can’t do that, I’m an adult, you can’t force me!” At this point I’m full on panicking. This can’t be happening, it should just be another nightmare. But I know it’s real. My nightmares are way different.
“You are right and nobody is forcing you. But think about this, it would give you the perfect opportunity to get some good job experiences while at the same time helping out your family! Also –” she adds “if you don’t take this offer then you’ll have to pack your bags, we can’t pay for you any longer.”
“If you stayed off the booze you could.” I press through my teeth, anger winning over panic.
She just ignores it and tells me “Please Honey, think about it. If you go with Mr. Mundo at least you’ll have a roof and food. We just want what’s best for you! You’ll thank us in a few years, mark my words.” With this she turns around and leaves me alone in the kitchen with this absolute hunk of a man.
“Go pack your stuff, we leave in an hour.” He hands me a big suitcase before sinking down onto the washed-out red leather couch in the living room, turning the TV on, unfazed by all of this as if it was his daily job. Which it probably was.
Still in shock, I go back to my room and just stare at the mirror for a solid minute. I still haven’t processed what just happened but I start throwing my most important stuff into the suitcase. I have a lot of clothes but most of them are from my parents and I hate wearing them. So it’s not too difficult to fit all my favorite pieces into the suitcase, some skinny jeans, flowy tops and hoodies and of course accessories, I can’t leave my choker collection here. Then I go to my bed and from under the mattress I pull my binder. I put it under all the other things so it won’t be visible if my mom checks my suitcase. She would freak out. I gather the rest of the stuff, making sure I have my laptop, makeup and favorite books, and check the time. I still have 15 minutes left but at this point, the quicker I’m gone the better. I grab the heavy suitcase and try to carry it down the stairs. Two steps in I nearly slip and the suitcase crashes onto the step with a loud Thud. Before I’m even up I can hear heavy steps on the stairs.
Mr. Mundo grabs the suitcase without saying a word and carries it down. I awkwardly follow him, hoping my mom is distracted and hasn’t noticed the commotion. For once I seem to be lucky, she’s nowhere to be seen. At the door, Mr. Mundo turns around and asks me “Are you sure that you have everything? You won’t be able to come back here anytime soon.”
“Yeah I’m not planning on doing that anyways. Can we go?” I ask impatiently.
He doesn’t answer and just opens the door and walks down the driveway towards the black car with darkened windows that is waiting at the end of it. He puts my suitcase in the back of it with ease and opens the door in the back, gesturing for me to get in. I hesitate for a second, but when I can hear the front door of the house open again, I quickly get in before I can hear whatever my mother wants to tell me. He slams the door behind me and gets into the driver’s seat, which I can’t even see from back here because there’s a divider between the front and the back of the car. Like in a limousine. Or a cop car. It feels more like the latter, like I’m a prisoner.
The car rumbles to life and even though the windows are heavily tinted, I can see the shadows of trees racing past us. Where are we going?

three years
well, once again, another aniversary of my coming out of the closet, to this day i have been 1 year, 7 months, 20 days in consistent uninterrupted HRT.
for years and years, ever since i first learned the word cis, i considered myself cis by default, magic button trans. i didnt thought of myself as trans enough to actually deserve transitioning and whatever results i might have gotten of the real life available options were not good enough in my mind to be worth considering. and even if acceptable halfway decent results COULD be achieved the barrier of entry would have been too high. months and months of hormones, incredibly expensive surgeries that i could not afford and for which i would probably have to travel abroad to get in good quality. all way beyond my reach.
i am the type of person who is not really capable of doing sustained, long term effort for rather minimal gains, i was never able to hold a diet, or do excercise or embark on amulti year project without quitting after a few weeks.
and yet all the same i decided to embark on this.
i decided that in this i COULD take the slow but steady path.
and the first few months, the first couple of years as a matter of fact, was a hard time, not gonna lie. it was a very unpleasant slogh, it was an awkwardly unbearably liminal situation where i was out and proud and i looked, frankly, like shit. it was two years of going outside dressed in what few clothes i had managed to scrounge up, which most of the time looked androginous on me, claiming to be who i was and yet not looking the part at all in my mind.
the worst part, the truly misserable portion of it all was the eye strain.
during the first few months after i started hrt i developed the terrible habit of looking intently in the mirror trying to catch any tiny misserable sign of progress, it was a letany with my camera of finding the pitch perfect combination of angles and shadows to make me look a little more like myself. a constant eye straining effort of trying to accentuate certain features and ignore others in my minds eye as i was watching to try and even catch a momentary glimpse of a girl in my reflection. trying to will myself to hallucinate my body and my face the way they ought to look.
i woke up today, put on a shirt, combed my hair a bit and went outside to run some errands, no grooming, no padding, no makeup. i caught my reflection in a window shop. i saw a woman there, no need to strain, no need to unfocus my eyes, or to focus only on the parts i liked or to half cover my lids or to shift the angle of my head or to strategically pose or cover parts of my jaw with my hair. it was natural and it was effortles, i saw a girl.
so yeah, im glad i put up with it for three years, its only going to get better from here, happy three years out of the closet for me

Ok no this is gonna sound cheesy as hell but. Im unattractive by every conventional way and it bothered me a bit when I was little right which is. Fine. I remember actively putting on more powder on my face when going to school hoping it’d cover up some of the spots and shit(it didn’t I just looked fucking stupid).
In 11-12 grade which was during the pandemic I got a BIT more confident bc of the hair, the long hair helped. But I HATED how I was fat as fuck with the double chin and the horrible skin (which is a consequence of my own actions)
Cut to college and just. Man, I’d worked out a decent bit before college so I’d lost a bit of weight but I wasn’t quite there yet. That combined w my sudden change in schedule, the overwhelming amount of sudden unhealthy food l gained back the weight, I got dark circles, my schedules were all over the place (are) (worse)
It didn’t help that my friends here are like. Z. Mk. They’re like. The Standard. Plus parsons kids IN GENERAL dress rlly well and are well kept. So Yknow. Everytime I go out or am on campus I get that way too familiar feeling of being stared at like everyone’s looking and laughing behind my back I know it sounds cringe asf but man it it’s not fun. And like. On top of that,
I’m just. Not Capable of socialising. I can’t talk to people I can’t make friends like that— I sometimes wish we had a mini pandemic again because the pandemic helped me SO MUCH with finding friends I made more friends in like 6 months of pandemic than I did E V E R and now that they knew I was fun I could hang out w them and they’d not mind the bad social skills much bc they knew me from online.
I wake up and I look in the mirror and like. The reflection PHYSICALLY disgusts me I don’t WANT to look at myself— I actively avoided taking pictures during the niagara trip because I just. I hate pictures of myself— I DELETED my dating profiles because I can’t stand my pictures being out there. It’s SO BAD why do I look like that it’s kit even just skin or whatever it’s just. It’s everything, head, chin, eyes, nose I look like a fucking. I look so bad if I look at myself too long I just, I just get angry and sad.
Dylan was showing me footage of mysekf on camera from when he filmed me for his assignment and I genuinely got a little nauseous 😭 (although this might’ve been because i hadn’t eaten food like. At all)
If I eat the Normal amount of food I feel bad bc I think it’s too much and I feel horrible and fat as fuck and actively avoid having too many calories

Definitely understandable i easily lose the energy to talk with people when i have to interact with family. So you're good. Ah yes the dont worry about it approach my favorite. Especially when what you do in regards to you is your business. Well between last message & now i forgot so thats a good indicator of how thats goin. What should I tell you about my trip? So the stuff that I liked the most was how well connected everything is. The public transport in Mumbai is expansive and very well organised and cheaaaappp!!
There was one day where we looked at all the old heritage buildings and then went shopping at a flea market and we walked the entire day. It was some 10 km of walking. We got a box of nail polishes, a purchase that we've never made before at a really cheap price. I'm terrible at applying nail polish on myself and decent at applying on others. My mother's okay at both. It's the only bit of makeup both of us apply. We went window shopping at freaking Sabyasachi who's like a big designer like how Christian Louboutin is big.
We went to all the obvious sightseeing places as well, like Gateway of India and Elephanta Caves. I had so much fun roaming around in Kanheri Caves. Maa has some lung issues because of which she couldn't climb to see more than the first three caves. My brother('Dada' is how you say elder brother) roamed around on his own. My father('Deota' is father in my mother tongue) and I explored together and we saw all 100+ caves together. It was really steep. At one place we took a path that isn't meant for tourists. The guard said if we feel like we can go through that trail, then he'll allow it so we did!
Because of some extremely unfortunate logistic problems🥲 like the G20 summit causing closure of certain places we couldn't try Marathi food the way we wanted to but more motivation for the future!!!
The seafood restaurant was worth it!!! We ate a crab in butter and garlic and we also ate a classic mangalorean surmai fish curry. Do you ever cook? What's your favourite pasta recipe??
I'll definitely keep your idea for the design.
