Got Lord Namo Mandos from the Silmarillion, Death of the Endless from Sandman, DEATH from Discworld, and The Lord of the Black Hood from my og work (The Domesday Book of Faerie tag, not much to see there yet but there will be)

Some people sat the grim reaper is cruel, others say he is kind, he is neither actually. The grim reaper is basically a creature, he may be intelligent but he has the mind of an ambush predator. If he's nice to the people he's taking its basically the equivalent of an orca playing with its food, same goes for if he chases you or plays chess with you or something. He doesn't think about things like good and evil, he just finds reaping souls fun and it nourishes him. Sometimes he'll chase someone and then let them go for fun. Some people are spared by him simply so that he can hunt more people later. He's not good or evil, he's part of nature, just a part of nature that hurts humans.

Summary: Death, aka Dieter Bravo, falls in love with a mortal woman. It isn't easy for the two of you, but he's enamored with you, and he's willing to go the distance...well, kind of. It's complicated.

A/N: I finally have the gumption to post this! Whew.

Anyway, there's no use of y/n. Dieter calls the reader "Sapphire" but there's a reason for that and it becomes a pet name as time goes on.

I watched Meet Joe Black recently. This has been nagging at me since then.

I know we're all picturing Susan moving on with her life with the coffee shop man, yet all I can think of is the moments in their marriage when she wakes up before him, turning over to stare at his face, and thinking of Death/Joe. I picture her imagining it's him when it isn't, and she gets so ashamed afterward. I think of Joe checking in on her, on the same day they met yearly. It could be an old man 'accidentally' bumping into her on the street, apologizing with a coffee, or a patient she encounters who seems to be out of place. I picture her spending nights up late, wondering where he could possibly be and hoping there's a day they reunite. Her even getting suicidal because of it, eventually causing him to have to take the coffee shop man's body again and convince her it isn't worth it. They spend hours talking, holding each other, she is somewhere in her 40s and he... well... just old. When he leaves, she feels empty. I think of the day she dies, and he is there to collect her, and what their reunion could be. I believe he would want her to stay with him. I believe she would be resentful of him, but eventually warming up and falling in love again (sorry coffee shop man, we just love Joe better).

I am so deprived of them, I need to see more.
