2023 DCBB Masterlist
The 2023 DCBB has officially completed posting! You can find a masterlist of all our stories sorted by story here and sorted by date here.
Despite the show ending three years ago, we continue to be delighted by the passion and creativity our participants bring to this challenge. Along with providing dozens of new stories with art for the fandom, we love seeing the way our authors and artists support each other. From DCBB veterans to those completing their first ever challenge, we see you asking questions, sharing knowledge, and lifting each other up. Seeing such positivity keeps us going year after year!
To those of you who supported the DCBB by writing, making art, and beta reading: we couldn't do this without you! To those of you who read and commented and shared links: you play a vital role in keeping this challenge alive.
We'll be back again next year, but in the meantime, sign-ups for the 2024 DCRB will be opening on November 15th!

Dean doesn't have the guts to grab Sam from Stanford. Dean fails to find his missing dad. Dean can, however, hunt the ghost haunting his house.
Yeah, Dean buys a haunted house. On purpose. After a quick salt and burn of the bitter old ghost of Naomi Novak, Dean can finally have something in his life go right.
But the ghost isn't what Dean's expecting. The spirit he finds is a polite, broad shouldered, blue eyed man in a trench coat who, instead of throwing Dean through the window in a vengeful rage, asks Dean for help.
Dean agrees to assist Castiel, the Friendly Ghost, with moving on to the next life. Cas isn't like any ghost Dean had ever met. The usual rules don't apply to him. He's kind to Dean. He loves books. His cold touch brings mortals close to death.
The more time Dean spends with Cas, the less Dean wants to let him go. Cas is good company. Dean hasn't let himself get close to anyone in years. In a different life, Dean could have fallen in love with him.
Or maybe he already has.

Art masterpost for Ungod
For my first @deancasbigbang, I had the chance to be paired with the amazing author @corrupt-touch and illustrate Ungod, a story about finding meaning, making the right choice and putting bad guys in prison. Let me tell you, the Lawyer Dean/Priest Cas pairing works really, really well.

In the story, Dean is defending priests accused of stealing money from St. Michael's Church. But his life changes when he meets Father Novak.
The priest has demons of his own, but Dean is inexplicably drawn to him. Falling for him means risking his job and probably disappointing his dad, not to mention putting Castiel in danger... But well, you've guessed, that's not going to stop them.
I really loved working on this story, which is a beautifully written, slightly blasphemous, suspenseful case fic, as well as a story about finding solace in love and companionship, and fighting for happiness.

Dean has never had a space, he could just be himself until one summer in Missouri where he meets Cassie who takes him under her wing. For a few short months he can express himself the way he wants to and experiences what a normal life could look like. When he reunites with his family he has to reconcile this with the version he is with them and face the problems he's ignored before, all while there is an apocalypse underway. A certain angel showing up might just be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

It's mostly set in the Huntercorp AU we've seen glimpses of in Season 15! I love both Huntercorp explorations and I love female vessel Cas, so of course I was very happy ;3
Here's the summary:
On his first solo case for HunterCorps, Dean runs into a freelancer known as Cass Teyal. Dean quickly falls for her, and soon finds himself embroiled in two much bigger cases: preventing the Apocalypse, and figuring out exactly what Cass is hiding.

It's DCBB season again!! I was so luckily paired with @seidenapfel (who is also my partner for Dadstiel this year) and this so sweet fix-it of Season 10!

This image jumped into my mind immediately when I saw the fic and I made it in 2 or 3 days haha (so sad I was really busy this DCBB season) it was so hard to make things visible when everything is so dark but I kinda love how the color and light turned out in the end :D
The Beginning
It is the beginning of everything, it is the epic moment of two worlds connecting, it's the start of a a new life... haha I have been wanting to draw demon!Dean x Angel!Cas for so long and I knew I must draw this one as soon as I saw the draft 🤣 But I cannot actually form a good enough image in my mind and I changed the sketch and pose several times 😶 I am still not satisfied with the result but the no more time so 😶 (and I hope it survives 🤞)
Healing
I love the moment Dean touches Cas' wings and their daughter's grace heals it immediately when I saw it - I always want Cas' wings restored and their daughter healing it is perfect. Strong light in a dark environment is still so difficult for me 😥 (the entire image is still too dark I guess) but I don't have much time to adjust it 😥

I am so happy to be paired with seidenapfel again :D She is also my author for the Dadstiel bang this year hahah we were still working on the dadstiel piece when DCBB claiming happened. When the pairing result was released shortly after the claiming began she messaged me immediately and I couldn't believe the luck 🤣 I was quite busy in the past few months and she was supportive and encouraging as always :D And the story is a so sweet and warm altered version of S10 which gives me everything I wanted :D Please go give it a read if it's your thing!
I didn't have much online time but I sneaked peeks here and there at other participants' art and they are all so amazing! So happy to join this event with so many talented artists :D Ah also I got so many helpful suggestions for my banner!
And I want to say thank you to all Mods! The mods team is as reliable and responsive as always and thank you so much for running such a great event every year!

It's finally here!!
My art master post for this year's @deancasbigbang, for the absolute rollercoaster of a fic, Ten Years Gone, by @labgeek2002.
What are you waiting for? Go go go read it!
Spoilers under the cut~
This fic had some amazing foreshadowing, especially with the *ahem* major twist that appears around midway through. If you pay close attention to the some details of the art, you might've also been able to catch on to what the fic hints at ;)
Namely, referenced the poster and title of Abre Los Ojos in my first artwork, then in the digital dossier you can pick up on a bit of Charlie's editing skills at work. Iykyk ;))
The last illustration I did was for one of the big reveals of the fic, I don't know how but it somehow ended up looking a bit more spicy than I intended, but that's okay.
Overall, I'm so glad I was paired up with Les for my first DCBB. They wrote an amazing story and detective AU filled with so many juicy and immersive details. I had a lot of fun being able to do the art for it <3
