September Challenge– Days 22 & 23
And just like that my week of converting the Arena-exclusive mechanics from MtG was over. Technically I only had one more mechanic to convert (ignoring the impossibility of the Draft and Spellbook mechanics...) but I tossed Davriel in as an extra, since he works in a digitally-exclusive way and unlike any other card in Magic. Its a pretty fun idea too, and translates well to 5e

He’s gotta be a bat, right?
Dark and spooky reputation, but also pretty cute.
I tried to make aspects of his outfit fit the small animal vibe too, by making his mask bat-skull shaped, and replacing the little silver skulls he has with bugs. Also, i didn’t want to draw two whole ass bats, but I imagine his day form would just have normal wings.

Ms. Highwater, whispering to herself: ah yes, the horrors from beyond the stars coming to compleat everyone was fine, but now he has an emergency...
Ms. Highwater: What is the problem, Davriel?
Davriel: We have run out of wine! Did you not order new bottles when you noticed the cellar running dry?!
Ms. Highwater: I did. The supply, however, is still recovering from the Phyrexian Invasion.
Davriel: The... what invasion?
Ms. Highwater:
Ms. Highwater: Phyrexia? The biomechanical horrors set on making everyone be like them?
Davriel: Doesn't ring a bell.
Ms. Highwater: And you did not at all notice the plane-wide fighting happening against them by everyone in Innistrad?
Davriel: Can't say I did! Everything looked perfectly Innistrad-ey to me! Maybe all of it happened while I was taking my afternoon nap?

Pass on the Dialogue Tag
I'm gonna keep doing @squarebracket-trick's tag games until she starts actually tagging me.
Rules: turn some lines of dialogue from your own WIP into an incorrect quote that the person you tagged can insert their characters into. (original concept by @olive-riggzey)
My lines from Square
Davriel Godslayer: I made a promise to you Frederick Von Nocte. I said you were living on borrowed time.
Frederic: Before you kill me I think I should like to collect the winnings from our bet.
Davriel: Oh?
Frederic: Don't you remember? The loser must address the winner as your highness for a day. That means... do whatever pleases you but, no matter what happens, I am going to live through the day.
Davriel: You think death is the worst I could do to you, your highness?
Uh I have run out of individuals who might want to do this so I'll tag anyone who has fairy lights in their room, prefers salty to sweet, or lives in Canada.
You dialogue is:
Character A: Those are our children. We must stop them but we need not kill them.
Character B: Those are my real parents?
Character C: Our parents, not that they ever did much parenting
That was arguably the least lore-specific exchange I could find. I really don't write a lot of dialogue, and when I do it's just what's needed for exposition then I get out of there. Should probably change that but oh well, I don't search the real writing for these, just the fun for me stuff.

Where are they now?
No seriously where? We haven't seen any of these planeswalkers since War of the Spark or earlier. We have no confirmation of their current status. What are they up to? Will any of them show up in March of the Machines or Aftermath?
I'm leaving out planeswalkers who:
haven't shown up in a canon story yet (Grist, Aminatou)
were last seen imprisoned and presumably that hasn't changed (Ugin, Bolas)
were name-dropped in a way that confirms their current status (Samut)
are dead (Dack, Gideon)
Daretti deserves a special mention because he was supposed to appear in War of the Spark but got cut, making his last appearance in 2016's Conspiracy: Take the Crown.
