A Collection Of Default Replacements
Tumblr media
I made several small replacements that I felt didn’t deserve their own posts so I decided to bundle them up :)
Here’s a default replacement for falling autumn leaves and leaf pile textures, two date reward roses, base game birthday cake, Hanging Flower By Copur Ceramics plant, Pot Of Roses plant and garden reeds.
Tumblr media
Textures of date reward roses and Pot Of Roses were meant to go with my rose shrub default replacement from here as I used the same resources. Only textures were replaced on these + I changed the color of the small card.
Reeds have a model (actually all 3 models) and texture replacement using reeds from Miasmata set by Ohbehave.

Done in collab with brilliant @episims - an alternative to colour traits version (doesn't require their traits mod but is compatible with it). Default file replaces both the rose bouquet and single rose date rewards. Both have a 'floor state' - when placed on a table etc will change into flower & vase.
Smooth talk rose replacement is a separate file and is optional.
TS2 Date Flower Rewards Mod / Default
& 'Smooth Talk' Rose Default
Download (SFS)
Polycount: 1845 / 2474 - bouquet, 476 / 823 - single rose, 'Smooth talk' rose - 322
Each default includes darker, muted red rose version for Reshade users (and anybody else) who may find lighter shade a bit eye-searing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pic above on the left: Epi has edited the single rose reward animation, so it's being held horizontal when Sim brings it to the door. Little card envelope shows up when flowers are placed on the ground - that's also thanks to Epi's perseverance.
*Please note that transformation to a vase only happens once, vase stays a vase when put back on the floor.
*I used 4t2 rose mesh (converted by @veranka-downloads) as a starting point to make mine, it's been modified and has new vase, leaf and texture so it's not very recognizable ;)
Enjoy!

🔪rogues gallery legacy challenge 🔪
i'm misleading you most of them aren't even criminals
ok!!! so i made this challenge for myself because i can't commit to any save, but i'll definitely want to play with these sims it's got autism sprinkled all over it. some of you might also like it as well so i'll share it!
this is a ten generation legacy challenge, with every generation loosely based on a different batman villain, but you don't have to be a batman fan to do it.
general rules
start with the default amount of money you get straight out of cas. no money cheats!
heirs can be any gender with any appearance. i think it'd be fun to dress them inspired by the character, but you don't have to. you probably don't want to make the actual character, honestly (what, ivy marries harley, then a few generations later there's just another harley? no)
choose your own succession laws
if you don’t have the pack for the requirement, replace it with whatever is a logical replacement. or just do something else instead, i’m not gonna come through your computer
i have provided alternate requirements when necessary for people who don’t want to play with occult sims
when stated that the sim goes to university, i recommend turning off aging until they graduate. sims without a university requirement can still attend!
if you end up doing this, please tag me in your posts 💜 or at least tell me how it's going in an ask lol
1: poison ivy 🌱
people say you’re a bit intense about the environment, but you say people are too stupid to see what’s right in front of them. the world clearly needs your help, but no one understands you. people quickly disappoint you when you get close to them. they voted against the clean energy production n.a.p.—why shouldn’t their spouse find out about that secret date you had?
stats:
traits: green fiend, hot-headed, loves outdoors aspiration: villainous valentine career: gardener (botanist branch) max skills: gardening, herbalism, flower arranging
requirements:
live in any world but strangerville (it doesn’t have an eco footprint!). make every neighborhood in the world have a green eco footprint—this means you’ll have to live in all of them at some point. big worlds recommended.
get the super green thumb bonus trait from the aspiration rewards store.
leave someone at the altar.
eventually end up with your best friend who’s already in a relationship.
have 3 cowplants. if one of them dies, remove 1000 simoleons as punishment and replace it. what you do with them is your business.
2: scarecrow 👻
between moving constantly, being terrified of the man-eating plants outside your window, and your parent's reputation preceding them, you fantasize about the control you’ve lacked your whole life. you loved creating monstrosities with your chemistry set as a child, and when you finally escape your town for college, your mind leads you to dark places. you evade consequences until your scheming backfires, and you’re haunted for the rest of your life by a terrifying specter your family can’t see.
stats:
traits: paranoid, genius, ambitious aspiration: purveyor of potions (non-occult alternative: academic) career: education (professor branch)/scientist (for non-occult route) max skills: mental skill, mixology skill, cooking skill
requirements:
gain and conquer every adult fear.
go to the university of britechester and major in psychology. join a secret society.
become a spellcaster. feed hexed potions to 5 sims and use negative spells on 10 sims. non-occult alternative: instead of becoming a professor, join the scientist career, and with the sim ray, use the mind control: panic upgrade on all coworkers.
after college, move to another world than where your parent lives.
become cursed with the curse of the night wraith (you may cheat for it if you can’t get it). live 3 days with it then you can de-curse yourself, but not before adding the night wraith to your household (requires cheats). obviously you can’t stop your family from interacting with it autonomously, but never initiate an interaction yourself while playing as another family member. non-occult alternative: use a ghost instead and you can pretend it’s just a figment of your sim’s imagination.
3: riddler 🧩
with your parent who hasn’t slept in days claiming your house is cursed, you drown it out with the internet and video games. your social skills might not be up to par because of it, but you’re a genius the likes of which has never been seen before. according to you, at least. you aren’t easy to get along with, but neither is one of your exes, whose path you just can’t stop crossing. try as you might, you can’t stay away from each other for very long.
stats:
traits: geek, socially awkward, self-absorbed aspiration: chief of mischief career: tech guru (start-up entrepreneur branch) max skills: mischief, robotics, logic
requirements:
as a teen, be in the streamer part-time career. have at least 500 followers on social media.
have a sim you’re dating die.
your “forever partner” has the hot-headed and mean trait. break up and get back together with them 4 times.
successfully hack supercomputer 3 times.
woohoo a servo. at least once
4: harley quinn ♦
you might never be a fully mature person, but that’s okay! you’re a free spirit—a bit unpredictable and fickle, but you’re fun! your parent’s dream is for you to go to foxbury, but one night out drinking with your roommates, you fall head over heels for a mysterious, charismatic stranger at the bar. you very quickly decide to follow them to the city, only to realize that they aren’t who you thought they were, and maybe you’re not who you thought you were, either. you end the relationship and truly find yourself.
stats:
traits: goofball, childish, romantic aspiration: leader of the pack career: doctor max skills: mischief, comedy
requirements:
start a club with your two best friends.
have an equal number of friends and enemies
briefly live on the foxbury campus, majoring in biology. fall in love with a criminal sim with all negative traits, drop out of college, and move in with them in a needs tlc apartment.
work a number of odd jobs and part-time careers while your relationship deteriorates.
break up with your partner, move out on your own, and go back to college. do not live on campus this time—continue working a part-time job while living at home. become a doctor.
5: clayface 🎭
your parent never took life very seriously, but you couldn’t be more different. not only are you fiercely competitive, you have to be liked by everyone. you’re a social chameleon who dreams of the stage. you’re only a high-maintenance, jealous, hothead—fame certainly won’t go to your head…
stats:
traits: high-maintenance, hot-headed, jealous aspiration: master actor career: actor max skills: acting, charisma
requirements:
live in del sol valley.
have a good reputation until becoming a proper celebrity, then earn a bad reputation.
marry and divorce (at least) 2 actors.
fist-fight 5 costars.
after completing the master actor aspiration, gradually lose all fame.
6: penguin ☂
there’s a lot you can say about your childhood, but you can’t say it wasn’t comfortable. with all the trust fund and nepotism you could ask for, what’s there to lose? oh. oh, wait, this trust fund isn’t bottomless, actually. uh oh. better pick up a couple side hustles to keep the lights on.
stats:
traits: snob, mean, materialistic aspiration: mansion baron career: business career (investor branch) max skills: nectar making, fishing
requirements:
never work a job until young adulthood.
spend all or almost all of your inheritance immediately after moving out (have <1500 simoleons).
start selling nectar and fish on the side.
adopt or have 1 solo science baby. be enemies with all of your neighbors but have a max relationship with your child.
have 5 on-and-off woohoo partners but never a real relationship. once you reach mid-adulthood (not young adulthood), you may marry one of your woohoo partners who’s always secretly been in love with you.
7: mr. freeze 🧊
your eccentric parent doted on you, but school was miserable. at least you had one friend, your best friend. as you got older, you got shy about your developing feelings for them—little did you know, they in love with you too. you got married and everything was perfect. and then they died. you’ll dedicate your entire life to bringing them back, no matter the cost.
stats:
traits: gloomy, perfectionist, family-oriented aspiration: soulmate career: scientist max skills: all skills associated with making ambrosia
requirements:
be disliked by at least 3 classmates as a child/teen and have only 1 friend.
become soulmates with the friend, get married, and move to mt. komorebi. when at least 1 of your children ages up into a child, your spouse dies.
you quit your job to focus solely on making ambrosia to bring your spouse back. you can rejoin the scientist career when this is complete. if you need money, start selling household items.
you become increasingly distant with your child(ren), too focused on your goal. your relationship with them suffers greatly.
you cannot have any romantic relationship with another sim ever. even if your revived spouse can’t forgive you…
8: joker 🤡
when you watch your parent sob while baking ten cakes in a row, saying it’ll bring your other parent back from the dead, the best way to cope is turning it into a stand-up routine, right? you’ve used comedy to mask the darkness in you your whole life. might as well try to profit off it. also, your vampire obsession is kind of off-putting.
stats:
traits: goofball, evil, hates children aspiration: joke star career: entertainer (comedian branch) max skills: comedy, mischief, vampire lore
requirements:
as a child, get a’s in school and be in the drama club. have a forgotten birthday when becoming a teen, the final straw. quit the drama club, become disliked/enemies with all of your friends, and become a d student.
move to san myshuno.
reach a two-star celebrity level from comedy.
never marry and have an accidental child with a fan. all children you have must be accidental. like your parent before you, you cannot connect with your children and have a difficult dynamic with all of them.
have a -100 relationship with a vampire. have a negative interaction at least once a week. non-occult alternative: make it a human goth sim. lmao.
9: two-face 🌗
despite absent parenting, you were voted most likely to succeed in high school and graduated at the top of your class. your goals are simple and attainable: become leader of the free world. but your promising political career is nipped in the bud when your entire life is ruined. disgraced, secluded, and battling two sides of yourself, you turn to other career options.
stats:
traits: self-assured, erratic, overachiever aspiration: goal oriented, public enemy career: politics (politician branch), criminal career (boss branch) max skills: charisma, research & debate
requirements:
as a child, receive a future cube as a gift from a parent. every major decision you make besides the requirements have to be made with the future cube. no takesies backsies.
make all a’s in elementary and high school and win prom royalty.
marry your teenage sweetheart straight out of high school. have only 1 child.
reach level 5 of the politics career, then your sim is turned into either a werewolf or vampire (player’s choice—or flip a coin!) against their will (you’ll have to pretend). non-occult alternative: you’re caught in a cheating scandal that ruins your career.
you’re forced to quit your job, get divorced, move to a non-city world with your child, and join the criminal career.
10: catwoman 🐈
your parent was not an easy person to live with. they may have not minded your habit of stealing from school, but you couldn’t take it anymore. you return to the city with a plan to get rich quick, but you’re no crime boss. you’re doing this on your own terms, playing for nobody’s team but your own. even if someone keeps trying to poke their nose in your family’s business.
stats:
traits: kleptomaniac, cat lover, adventurous aspiration: fabulously wealthy career: retail employee, thief max skills: rock climbing, knitting
requirements:
your non-criminal parent dies before you reach teenhood.
have a gloomy childhood friend you lose touch with in your teen years. as young adults, the friend has become a secret agent investigating your family. they are enemies with your criminal parent. you and the friend also become enemies.
you’re working as a retail employee, but where you’re really getting your money is robbery. initiate 2 romantic relationships with rich sims to rob their house.
eventually become lovers with your friend-turned-enemy.
adopt 3 stray cats.

Please, excuse my sims looking quite a bit different, but I am checking out skin defaults. Skins 1-3 from here [they’re all freckled], skin 4&alien from here, if anyone likes them. They’re a lot more realistic than what I’m used to, so my own sims look exotic to me. I feel like most – at least lower rank folks – would be outside a lot in this time period and their skin would be more freckled because of staying in the sun, so that’s why I chose freckled skin defaults.
~*~
This time we’re visiting the Atkin family (and Drifa Imago living with her boyfriend). I rolled #14 for them, which means they got a free goat which was apparently destroying the nunnery. I took that to mean that either May’s or Portia’s husband could start a goat farm (they would have a dowry in a form of a goat).
I decided to roll twice, since these are technically two households living together... And the second roll told me I was supposed to go on a hunting/camping vacation in Three Lakes. I was really excited for it, I even changed some pieces of furniture to more medieval equivalents... only to find out that I bugged that lot out by doing that… I got so angry but I figured what was the problem in the end. At first I thought it was just because I replaced the vanilla tents with custom, more medieval ones, but it was not the case. It seems some modded objects wouldn’t let me go into live mode on that lot, so I had to get rid of them. I’m getting a bit tired of how finicky TS2 can be...
I’ll probably publish one more post about this family later - some memories from their trip. This is part one, from the main hood. I might also just start a new hood, if I get annoyed enough... I don’t understand the logic of why some things don’t work in this game sometimes, and maybe it would be better to get clean templates anyway...
~*~
Bay maxed out Entertainer, Athletic, and Law Enforcement teen careers. And on age up the game wanted to put him in level 6 (Detective), even giving him a career reward. He’s such an ambitious jack of all trades sim. He actually also reached permanent platinum aspiration right before aging up.
They ended up with 1165$, and they started off with 190$, so they earned 975$. It really doesn’t matter at this point, but the Royal Family earned 900$ and the tithe was 100$.
~*~
May went on a date with Declan, and it was nice and all, but as 2 Knowledge sims, they rolled almost no romantic wants besides wanting to get to the Dream Date level... till I made them kiss. Then they started rolling Make Out wants, WooHoo wants, and they even wanted to Go Steady.
It always makes me sad that with expansions installed teenagers don’t really roll wants for First Kisses anymore, they only want to Make Out…

Long time no see! Here is a small default for the rose accessory from Freetime, replaced with an edited version of the date reward rose from Nightlife. It's fully animated and will wiggle like EA's original!
EA: Polys: 190 Texture size: 128x128 Mine: Polys: 388 texture size: 256x128
There are two versions to choose from and Freetime is required for both. If you have Nightlife installed, you can choose to use the repo'd default* (it's repo'd to "daterewardbouquet-flowers-surface_txtr"). If you don’t have Nightlife installed (or for some reason just don’t want the repositoried version) choose the Freetime file.
*Worth mentioning, inside this repo'd default there's also a texture default for the date reward bouquet. EA had painted on shadows in that texture and it bothered me very much, so I removed them. This means that if you have any texture default replacing "daterewardbouquet-flowers-surface_txtr", they are not compatible. To solve this, you can let that default load after my default, or simply use the Freetime version of my default. My default will not conflict with @alienpod's default though! In other words, they are compatible.
Tumblr media
Remember you can only have one default for the rose accessory in your downloads folder at a time. The only one out there I know of, is the one by @ivy-sims which you can find here. It's technically compatible with my repo'd version, but I don't see why would use them both at the same time since that texture will not be used in my repo'd default anyway ;-)
As usual, all files have been compressed to reduce file size and do let me know if you stumble upon any problems. Happy simming!
Edit: if anyone is wondering what this interaction is, I explained it here! :-D
Edit #2: Ooops! I just realized that in my first preview I'm using @shastakiss' beautiful default for the date reward bouquet, but in my defaults I had EA's texture. I updated my defaults (both zips) so they now also have a version using shasta's default with my small edit of removing the shadows.
If you have shasta's default file as well, you can let my default load after shasta's, or open up her file in SimPE and remove the "daterewardbouquet-flowers-surface_txtr" resource if you're planning on using my Nightlife version. Sorry for the confusion!

Another set of defaults that aren't exactly needed but I wanted them so I made them. :D
Tumblr media
These replace the date rewards with a 4t2 teddy bear conversion by @shastakiss (for the amazing date) and a 4t2 rose conversion by @veranka-downloads (for the great date).
Tumblr media
There is some clipping, of course, but sims still look like they're carrying and dropping the teddy bear.
Tumblr media
I just think it looks cuter for decorating my sims' houses than the huge rose bouquet. >:3
Tumblr media
The single rose isn't as radical of a change but again, I just like it better. I never get or use any of the other rewards so I didn't bother with them.
[Download]
Also sorry for not putting things behind a cut anymore but in case I get terminated again I want people to at least have access to reblogs. :x

Date Rewards Roses Default Replacement
Tumblr media
Another thing I made for my game but decided to share due to all the feedback I received on my post.
This file replaces two rose bouquets with a peony bouquet (Maxis rose bouquet) and a chocolate box (Maxis single rose). It’s entirely based on a replacement by @alienpod so all credit for the package file goes to them. My attemps at doing it myself resulted in broken meshes and textures so I gave up. Maybe one day I’ll come back to it to rework it properly.
Please note that since this replacement is based on a cloning method (replacement by GUID), it can interfere with mods and unhiders (like this one by @shastakiss). But I included a second version that unhides both rewards in catalog (bouquet is in deco-flowers and the box is in deco-misc). Be sure to keep only one version! Also, note that bouquets from older dates (before you installed this replacement) will keep their Maxis look.
Peony bouquet is my conversion from the Peony set by @ars-botanica (3611 polys). Chocolate box is my conversion of a chocolate box deco object by RightHearted (1182 polys).
Tumblr media
Thank you to @trofysisters for giving this replacement a test and suggesting ribbon recolor🤗

Ask Answers: May 15th Part 2
And here’s the next part of the long answer set of the day!
When will OL: N&F take place? Beginnings and Always took place during summer breaks, will now and forever take place during a fall break or will the characters be going to school at the time of the events we play through?
It takes place over all of the fall season, so school will be happening in OL2. Some events do take place in school, though many times events only start after school is already out for the day, haha.
Hey!! I have kind of a weird question?? I’m sorry if it’s been answered before and I just haven’t seen it but is OL 2 taking place during the same years as OL 1? I’m just curious, thank you for such amazing games!!!
It’s a similar time frame, but not 100% exactly same.
Do you have any idea when the demo for now and forever will be available?
Hopefully this fall! But that’s not a guarantee.
Okay the crime show in Step 2: Growing up. Long blonde hair, police station, crime series? Was it The Closer? Because I’m the same age as MC and Cove and my mom was constantly watching that when I was 13. 😂
Haha, yeah! The Closer and, to a lesser degree, Medium were the kind of shows I was referencing there. My mom also used to watch those back in the day.
Hey um this might be an odd question but if the setting of OL: N&F is  fall/autumn, what country or city will it take because my mind tells me it is either Poland or Canada. Also I can't wait for the game I am hyped
It’s set in the USA again. We’d like to be able to have cameos and that’s easiest to do if the OL games take place in the same country.
Is it possible for the PC of OL to have non-seriously dated other people in the in between years even if they’ve had a consistent crush on Cove?
You can causally date Baxter in Step 3 if you get his DLC and then ultimately choose Cove in Step 4. If you mean off-screen people, it doesn’t really come up, but you can certainly headcanon that. The game never says Cove is the only partner you’ve ever had.
Is there going to be a Kickstarter for Now and Forever as well? For like voiced names and stuff again? Didn’t find B&A until after it was released and I’d really love the opportunity to hear my name in the game 🥺
Yeah, we are gonna have a Kickstarter with getting a voiced name as a reward! Though, it will be more expensive than it was for OL1. I feel bad to raise the price but we realized too late the first time around that it was being super undersold for the amount of work it took, aha.
Do you know how much the remaining DLC for OL will cost? (Step 4, Derek, Baxter)
Step 4: Free
Wedding DLC: $2.99USD
Derek DLC: $4.99USD
 Baxter DLC: $4.99USD
Has an artist for the new position been picked yet?! I'm super excited for the new game!
We did fill that spot. Thank you so much for taking the time to apply!
hmmm what would it take to get each of the XOXO jerk squad to feel the need to hug you?
They’d have to first like you a fair amount, otherwise the most you’d get is maybe a pat on the shoulder. If they were attached, they might hug you if you broke down crying or if you gave them super good news.
Unless it’s Shiloh, of course. If you want a hug you only have to ask!
May i ask how the Derek DLC will work? I believe that there aren’t any memories in step 4 and doesnt derek’s dlc take place during that step? So will the dlc add memories? Thank you!
Derek’s DLC will add five Moments to Step 2 (a new page will appear on that screen if you get the DLC). Then in Step 4 you’ll have to choose between playing the default epilogue or going through the Derek romance story.
Is the pc version on itch,io different from the steam version? Like an offline one or something?
Steam has achievements, but that’s about it. Both can be played offline, if you prefer.
I've been wondering this for awhile, what determines if cove winds up with a ponytail in step 3? I've done multiple runs with different MCs with varying hairstyles. Or does it have to do with a particular moment in step 2?
I’m afraid I can’t say exact choices that determine things. But generally it’s preference based options in the Step before that decide those things.
Any Floret Bond updates?
No, the artist had to leave the project and it’s been on-hold. I’m not sure if I want to try working just with what we have or replacing it all entirely. The design is a bit too specific for us to easily find someone who could mimic it. Hopefully we’ll work things out later, though.
In step 3 is Cove's plan always to stay in sunset bird?
Yeah. He is never ready at 18-years-old to make a big life change.
I love your content! If it's alright to ask, you answered in a previous ask about how Jeremy was too particular with what he likes his types to be romanceable with just any MC and it's sort of got me wondering.. What /are/ his types and/or preferences and such? Sorry if it's a lot!
Jeremy likes stubborn jerks and will not date someone who’s sweet or even generally a decent person, haha.
uh, excuse me if you said this somewhere before, but how will step 4 be actually? Will it he like an actual step and have moments and dlc and all? Or will it be more like a long epilogue of some sort?
Will the step 4, the wedding and extra routes dlcs be paid too? Im just confused, sorry if im asking too much
Step 4 is only an epilogue, so it’s just a long series of scenes one after the other rather than a collection of Moments you can choose from.
The Step 4 epilogue is free, the wedding DLC, Derek DLC, and Baxter DLC cost money.
i’m not sure how much of the wedding dlc you have planned already, or if this would be to spoilery, but what kind of wedding traditions will be included? i keep thinking about how flustered cove would get over a garter toss & was wondering if we’d see a scene like that haha. obviously no worries if it’s not included, i’ll enjoy literally anything cove related
I don’t know for sure yet, haha. Right now we’re focused on the parts before the big day. We’ll see how many scene alterations we can include for the wedding itself later on.
Hello! Firstly, thank you for creating such an amazing game like OL, and I couldn’t be more excited for OL2! Out of curiosity, are you looking for any writers to come on for OL2 or are you all pretty much set in that department? Just thought I’d shoot my shot haha but I’m still excited regardless ^^!
We will be hiring writers for OL2 later this year! Thank you for the interest.
Will we be blessed with a spin-off Yandere Cove, like XOXO Blood Droplets?
Sadly, no. It’s a shame but there’s not enough time to keep making OL1 bonus/spin-off content.
How is Q pronounced?
I’m afraid Q’s full name hasn’t been publicly announced yet so I can’t answer here (Q and T are the first letters of the names for the new LIs in Our Life: Now & Forever).
Question; is the steam version getting a Mac update?  I purchased the dlc there thinking it had Mac support without realizing it and just wondered if I’d need to refund it to purchase on itch.io 😭
I’m really sorry, you will need to get a refund from Steam. We do hope to have it there for Steam eventually, but have no idea of when it’ll happen. Apple requires special notarization to be an officially accepted app for their devices. We don’t have that. Steam requires having that, Itch will let you release it as an non-notarized third party app. That’s why Itch is the only place that has the Mac version right now.
would you mind posting outfit sheets for Cove in every step? it would make things a lot easier for us artists. it would save a lot of time spent looking for references
I think we did do the earlier steps when they were finished way back in 2019 (this game took a long time to make, aha), but we can probably repost them sometime!
In our life n&f, will we be able to get into qprs/will there be more options in regards to having deep platonic relationships with the love interests? Because as an aroace individual, it would be great if there could also be emphasis on platonic love so that it's more aspec inclusive.
It’s a little hard to say at this point. There may not be things like a wedding DLC for OL2 and so the relationship for platonic and romantic feelings might not go as far as it did in the first game. We’ll kind of have to see how much we can do based on timeframe/budget constraints that will only be set near the end of the year. But we will be keeping things like that in mind at least.
hi! i really really like your game and im absolutely in love with it! i cant wait to try your other games like xoxo droplet and future OL NF :))
during the step 3 erands moment i got curious, which fudge flavor is his favorite? it seems like he likes all of them, but which 4 do you think he would like best?
also i noticed that in some playthroughs cove would let me give him a piggy back ride, and in some he wouldn't, how come?
how does your choices affect cove's interests or looks? i replayed the game without changing any choices but i got cove to look different, is it just random?
thank you!
Cove’s favorite flavors are ones with nuts and that are fruity! But he appreciates them all. Whether or not you can give him a piggyback ride depends on if your MC is fit/large enough to hold a muscular 6-foot-tall beach boy, haha.
Cove’s appearance does depend on choices and it’s generally tied to choices that are preference based rather than emotion/action based, such as which key chain you pick in Step 1.
Is it possible for cove to reject MC's proposal at the end of step 3?
Nope. He’ll always accept.
hi! i was wondering how heavily the side characters will be featured in the our life wedding dlc? obviously it'll be cove & mc focused, but i was thinking it'd be sweet if we could take lizzie dress / suit shopping or dance with cliff at the wedding or something.
The side characters are there about as often as they are in normal events. So, it’s clearly focused on Cove but he’s not the only person you have any meaningful moments with.
When will responses be sent out to applicants?
I’m afraid we don’t send responses out to all applications, only ones we’re interested in offering the position to. Not everyone likes rejection emails and the amount of applications is too high to contact them all to say we’re not hiring them. We post updates on the job page when a position has news. Right now we’ve filled every role that was open.
Is there also going to be the option to keep your relationships with the love interests platonic in Our Life: Now and Forever? That's something I really appreciate in Our Life: Beginnings and Always
Yeah! OL will never force you to end up in a romantic relationship with someone.
I was wondering, in the Step 3 Happiness moment, what are the different fishes Cove can compare MC to? I got "you'd be a paradise fish, because being with you is paradise," but my friend got "you'd be an angelfish." Are there more variations?
He says paradise fish if you’re a couple, angelfish if he’s just crushing, and then a royal dottyback/queenfish/emperor tetra (based on your gender) if he likes the MC platonicly.
Hello! So, in one of the Step 3 DLCs, Cove's arm was gone. I think it was to show him putting his arm behind his back. But if that wasn't the case, did it get yeeted?
Thanks for letting us know. That was an error we tried to fix a little while back. When did you make the save file you were playing? If it was older that might be why it happened. Or maybe the error wasn’t fully fixed after all.
Asking for your opinion, but do you think Cove would at all be into ABBA? Because all I could imagine during the car trip in step 3 was him and the MC belting to Mamma Mia.
Haha, yeah, there’d definitely be some ABBA songs he was into.
So throughout the game, Cove can develop different interests depending on the player’s choices; does this mean that he can have different careers in Step 4? Or his is line of work in adulthood never mentioned at all?
He can have different career paths in Step 4!
Hi!! I'm so so sorry if this has been asked before but I just acquired knowledge about the so famous nsfw dlc for OL and nearly chocked on my bubblegum 💀💀💀 So, my real inquiry is if that specific moment will have any kind of impact at some point of the fourth step OR if it will just be treated as a side-story-ish “what if” scenario. Also, is there any chance there'll be something similar for Step 4? Haha jk,,, unless 😳Questions apart let me thank you profoundly for making the best visual novel I've ever played 😭 Really really looking forward the epilogue and OL2 💕 Have a nice day
It’s just a bonus side story that’s fully separate from the main game.
It would be nice to have one for Step 4 too, but I sadly don’t see us having time to actually do it. I don’t know, if people are still asking for more OL1 content several months from now it might be doable and worth doing.
I'd just like to ask, when is Baxter's birthday :0 -- I'm really curious esp with their zodiac signs so ;w;
I don’t know, haha. Maybe I’ll come up with one someday.
Please help!! I bought the Step 3 DLC but I still have no idea how to get to where you can propose to Cove - any tips?
&
How do I get the option to propose to Cove at the end of the game?
You can click HERE for a discussion on that.
I love that Miranda and Terry are getting together! I'm curious if you have canon sexualities for them? Also just wanted to say how much I love OL and how much joy it brings me everytime I play it <3
Terry likes ladies and Miranda likes dudes!
ngl Step 4 Terry's design reads like y'all see trans guys as their assigned gender more than you see them as men to me (a trans guy)... like maybe if he isn't heavily dysphoric, I could see it, but everything you've said about him doesn't line up with that. Even then, immediate warning bells go off in my head looking at him. I wouldn't have touched the game if I saw him ahead of time.
I’m sorry you aren’t comfortable with the way the design looks. The situation with Terry is that he’s now open about who he is, but the body he was born with is still physically the same. He only came out recently as an adult and hasn’t gone through any treatments/procedures yet (his chest is flatter because he wears a binder). However, even though his body hasn’t transitioned at the point Step 4 happens, no one treats him as anything other than the guy he is. Having a trans character who’s identity is supported/respected from the start is what we’re going for in this case. But what we’re doing with Terry isn’t the only trans content we’ve ever had/ever will have in the future.
how would baxter react to bae pyoun and vice versa? and can you please detailly explain both love interests personalities from our life 2: now and forever? i was just curious, sorry for dumb question!!
I imagine it’d be pretty opposite experiences, haha. Bae would initially think Baxter is pushy and thoughtless, but would quickly realize, oh, he’s instead a soft, considerate boy. Very cute. Baxter would first be struck with the impression that Bae is charming and gentlemanly, but then would realize that, no, he’s a sarcastic asshole. And I’m afraid we can’t reveal the personalities for the next game yet.
Sorry if you've already answered this, but I have a question about the patreon exclusive moment you're working on. I was wondering if it's mainly going to be CGs or if it's mostly character sprites + backgrounds with some CGs.
Either way, thank you for doing the Lord's work and not only making Cove, but making this bonus moment as well 😌😌😌
It’s mostly sprites/backgrounds with two CGs!

Fallout: A Post-Nuclear Role-Playing Game (1997)
Tumblr media
The Fallout series is currently kind of a big deal, but to date I think the very first game has the strongest atmosphere out of all of them. From the start, this game did many things right and expanded the way choice and consequence figured into the RPG genre.
I recommend playing it with the Fallout Fixt mod.
Summary
Fallout is, unlike the more modern games in the series, an isometric RPG with turn-based combat and a much heavier inspiration from tabletop roleplaying games.
Rather than using a fantasy setting as is the standard for this type of game, Fallout takes place in a post-apocalyptic world with a retrofuturistic aesthetic and a more mature atmosphere. This automatically made it stand out from the crowd, and then the game’s approach to quest design and character-building solidified its place as a classic.
Freedom
In terms of player freedom, there are few games that manage to even reach the same level as this one.
When designing Fallout, the developers tried to include at least three potential solutions to many of the problems the player may encounter, using the game’s robust character creation system to allow all kinds of characters to have options for how to proceed.
For example, an early quest involves rescuing a girl from a raider gang. Your options include fighting your way in and out of the place, using stealth to sneak to where she is and pick (or blow up) the lock, use your speech skill to intimidate the raider into releasing the her, purchasing her freedom, defeating the raider leader in a one-on-one unarmed fight, or even impersonating the leader’s father for her release.
To be clear, not all quests have quite this many options, but there’s still usually a few, including some that may not be obvious when playing certain kinds of characters.
This famously extends to the end of the game, where it is possible to overcome the final challenge without engaging in combat.
On top of quests having multiple solutions, the world itself is completely open, gated only partially by the fact that certain areas are populated by more powerful monsters (and even then, it is possible to avoid them).
While there’s never enough options and I can think of a couple of places where I wish I could have had different ones (such as during the very last conversation in the game), the game is generally doing a lot of things right on this front, especially for its time.
Many of the game’s factions and settlements also have various different endings depending on the player’s actions.
Character Creation/Customization
This is another aspect of the game that won over many RPG fans. The character creation uses the SPECIAL system, invented for this series following licensing issues with GURPS.
It is a versatile system with three main components: Your SPECIAL stats (Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck), your skills (three of which can be tagged at the start of the game, gaining a bonus and increasing faster), and your traits.
Traits in particular were optional features that would grant your character both a bonus and a penalty. For example, the Fast Shot trait makes some of your attacks faster (consuming less action points) but at the cost of being unable to make targeted shots.
And it does not stop there. Fallout had “Perks” that could be gained every 3 levels, which could grant a variety of rewards, some of them very significant. For example, the Better Criticals perk makes your critical hits more devastating, sometimes even enabling them to become instant-kill attacks regardless of the target’s remaining HP. From what I understand, this perk system may have been the genesis of D&D’s feat system too.
However, the real strength of this character system lies in how the game implements it. Both your stats and your skills will affect what dialogue options you have available and what actions you can successfully take in the game world.
This might sound like it should be the default for any RPG, but you might be surprised to know how many games, even otherwise very good ones, don’t seem to even try to implement something like this.
Many other games, even today, don’t let you specialize your character in any way outside of combat. All characters have access to all options and your stats don’t affect anything but combat.
It’s not all positive, however. There are some balance issues to be found.
In particular, Intelligence and Agility are overpowered, as is the Gifted trait. There are also many skills, traits, and perks that are of marginal usefulness at best. Skills like Throwing, Traps, or Gambling (for example) just don’t come up very often or provide meaningful advantages over other skills even accounting for the fact that a pretty low gambling skill is enough to gain essentially infinite money.
Story/Setting
This is really the part that draws people to the series in the first place. There’s just not that many post-apocalyptic RPGs out there (Wasteland and UnderRail come to mind).
The story is relatively simple. Nuclear war has largely destroyed civilization, your ancestors survived by hiding in an underground shelter called a Vault, but the water processing chip broke and now you have 150 days to find a replacement before your entire community dies of dehydration.
The search of this replacement has you leave the vault for the first time in your life and explore the wastes, and the many diverse communities that have begun to grow and rebuild in it.
Many mutated creatures inhabit post-nuclear California, and you soon discover an even greater threat in the horizon. However, this is not an RPG about dungeons and monsters. Most of your time will be spent in various settlements, dealing with other humans.
Immersion
Pretty good overall, though still not on the level as some of my other favorites like Ultima 7 or Gothic 2. The game has day/night cycles and a few simple NPC schedules that help add some life to it, but for the most part what carries this aspect is the game’s solid worldbuilding and the relative reactivity of its setting.
One areas that detracts from the game’s immersion somewhat is the limited animations. For example, NPCs don’t actually “sleep” in their beds, they only stand next to them at night.
Some NPCs don’t seem to have schedules at all either, remaining roughly in the same state and location throughout the day.
However on the net I’d say this is still a rather immersive game, especially if you can apply a bit of your imagination to make up for the lack of animations and background details (some more text descriptions of certain locations could have helped here probably).
One place I particularly liked the first time I played was Junktown, as a couple of quests and events there felt very spontaneous to my then-young mind.
Gameplay
As previously explained, there are a variety of non-combat options throughout the game. In particular I really like how the dialogue works, especially when you compare it to the approach taken in Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and even New Vegas.
In the first two Fallout games, you do not get a [Speech] tag pointing to the optimal dialogue options. You have to think for yourself about what the most persuasive thing to say is, and what your skill does is make the option show up at all. If your skill is not high enough then the option will be not only unavailable but hidden.
I prefer this to the game outright telling you that one of your skills is tied to a dialogue option, as in practice it ends up being the same as marking that option as the correct one most of the time.
And then there’s the combat. A lot of people don’t seem to like it, but I actually think it works fine as long as you set the speed to max as the animations are a bit slow by default.
Besides the speed issue (which is easily fixed), the main complaint about the combat is that it is overly simple. This is not entirely wrong, as even though there is a wide variety of weapons to play with there is not actually that much variety in combat actions: Move, attack, targeted attack, open inventory (for healing), and sometimes burst mode make up over 95% of what you will be doing from start to finish.
There are still some tactics involved in positioning yourself and taking cover from enemy fire, as well as making good use of targeted shots to cripple the enemy. However, the fact that you have no manual control over your party members limits this front. Party members in general are both unintelligent and quickly left behind in the base game, as they don’t improve or equip better armor. The mechanics for equipping them are also rather janky.
However, combat does have its positives too. The idea of targeted shots is great, as are the accompanying critical descriptions. The animations and sound effects also make combat extremely satisfying, every hit that lands seems to carry a real weight to it.
There is also some nice variety to the death animations. Where more recent games in the series largely just have people’s body parts explode or instantly transform them into piles of ashes/goo, Fallout 1 and 2 feel like they have much more in this department.
Aesthetics
While the non-combat animations are not too good, there is a lot to like about the general art style of the game, from the architecture to the incredible talking heads various NPCs have.
The atmosphere of the game is also amazing, not only due to the way it looks but also because of the dark and ominous soundtrack (give me this over 50s music any day) that helps make the world feel appropriately desolate and perilous.
Even just the game’s intro shocked a generation and clearly marked Fallout as something dark and different.
However, this game’s atmosphere goes beyond sight and sound. The gameplay helps to heighten it. Combat is very lethal even if not always difficult, and the lack of clear initial directions beyond “Try Vault 15″ also helps the players feel appropriately lost until they find a lead.
The talking heads in particular have aged extremely well. I would say they even look better than a lot of modern RPG graphics.
Accessibility
The same lack of direction I just praised might be off-putting for some, and while the game is mechanically very simple there is no tutorial. This alone can make some modern players fail to understand some of the core mechanics.
The quest log is also rather non-descriptive, so it can be easy to lose track of some details unless one takes some additional notes outside the game.
However, the game’s manual is not only complete and written for people new to RPGs, it’s also quite fun to read. A lot of people these days just don’t seem to think of the manual as something they should look at, but it helps to keep in mind that older games typically require it.
Don’t let the size of it discourage you either. You don’t need to read the whole thing at once and a lot of it is fluff or things you might already know from other games (like how to load or save your game). Just look at the index and see what might be good to know from the start.
Conclusion
It should be no surprise when I say that this is a game entirely worth playing, whether you are an existing fan of the series or not. Like many of the other games that I have reviewed and will review in the future, this one has great historical significance on its own on top of having many positives even when compared to the more modern games in the series, especially in terms of aesthetics.
Furthermore, the game is pretty short. It can easily be completed in about 20 hours or less for a first playthrough, and yet it offers so much more than that due to the many options and replayability it provides.
There is really no other game quite like this. Not even the few other post-apocalyptic RPGs that exist, not even other games in the same series (including Fallout 2). I would call this one of my favorites.

Complete Guide to Services Export from India Scheme(SEIS)
Complete guide to services export from India scheme present article will help you to understand the meaning of Services Export from India scheme (hereinafter referred to as the “SEIS”) in detailed manner, objectives, benefits, eligibility criteria, procedure and all other information required to avail the benefit of this SEIS scheme.
INTRODUCTION
As we are aware of the fact that the promotion of exports of a country is always been the most critical and vital course of action of any government. This is due to the reason that it has a vast impact on the overall development of a nation. The central government notified a scheme called Service Exports from India Scheme (“SEIS”) under Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20 (“FTP”). The purpose of the scheme is to make the export of Indian services more competitive in the international market. SEIS replaced ‘Served From India Scheme (“SFIS”) which was introduced in the past, the validity of the SEIS scheme is for a period of 5 years ie., till 2020. Under the SEIS scheme, incentives in the form of scrips at a rate ranging from 3% to 5% on services exporter’s net foreign exchange earnings are given to exporters of notified services that can be used to settle the payment of duties and are also freely transferrable in open market.
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the scheme are provided under chapter 3 of FTP 2015-20 which are as follows:
Promote     exports of notified services;
To     make our services more competitive in the global market;
Incentives     to exporters to offset infrastructural inefficiencies and associated costs     involved.
    BENEFITS OF SEIS SCHEME
The Duty Credit Scrips and goods imported/procured against these scrips shall be freely transferable. Credit Scrips may be used for payment of Basic Customs duties ie., BCD, Composition Fee, for Export Obligation (EO) defaults, Authorizations issued under Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 (i.e. Duty exemption Schemes and EPCG Scheme) of FTP 2015-2020, application fee under FTP 2015-2020, if any, and fees for permitted imports of inputs or goods, except the items listed in Appendix 3A of Hand Book Of Procedures (“HBP”) i.e. except items not allowed for import under Export from India Schemes. Once scrip is being issued, requests for splits could be permitted with the same port of registration for EDI enabled ports in terms of Para 3.09 of HBP. However, according to Trade Notice No.11/2018 Dt. 30/06/2017, IGST, CGST, SGST GST, and Compensation Cess, as may be applicable should be paid and may be availed as an input tax credit, if eligible, in accordance with the provisions of GST.
    DUTY CREDIT SCRIPS
·         Duty credit Scrips (“Scrips”) are nothing but incentives/rewards which are given to the eligible exporters at a notified rate. These Scrips can be used for the payment of different duties or taxes like customs duties, excise duties, service tax on the procurement of services, exchange duties, and others. These credit Scrips are valid for a term of 18 months from the date of its issuance.
·         Service providers of eligible services are entitled to duty credit scrip at notified rates on the net foreign exchange earned by the Service providers. It is to be noted that these Scrips cannot be utilized for paying Integrated Goods and services tax (IGST) and GST Compensation Cess (if applicable) on the import of goods.
     ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA UNDER SEIS
Basically there are 4 categories in which services can be delivered/exported:
Category-1
Category -2
Category -3
Category -4
Cross border  trade of eligible services from one country to the other country.
Consumption  of services abroad
Commercial  presence of services of one country in the territory of another.
Presence of  natural person of one country providing their service in the territory of  another
It is pertinent to note that only the first two types of services are covered under SEIS and can take the incentive under the scheme.
Further, Service providers also required to satisfy below conditions for obtaining the benefits under SEIS.
1.   Service provider must be located in India.
2.   He must hold an IEC number.
3.   If he is both ie., manufacturer as well as a service provider then the net foreign exchange earned by him shall be considered for services only.
4.   Forth and the most vital condition can be defined as follows:
IN CASE APPLICANT IS A COMPANY, LLP OR A PARTNERSHIP FIRM
IN CASE APPLICANT IS AN INDIVIDUAL OR SOLE PROPRIETOR
Minimum of  $15,000 net free foreign exchange earnings shall be there in the previous  financial year to apply for the application to get rewarded.
Minimum  $10,000 net free foreign exchange earnings shall be there in the previous  financial year to apply for the application to get rewarded.
Here the term “Net Foreign exchange earnings” defined as under:
Net Foreign Exchange= Gross Earnings of Foreign Exchange (minus) Total payment/expenses/remittances of Foreign Exchange by the Service provider, relating to services in the Financial year.
INELIGIBLE CATEGORIES UNDER SEIS
Ineligible categories have been specified under Para 3.09 of FTP, the same can be enumerated herein below–
1. Foreign exchange remittances/sources of earnings:
equity     or debt participation;
receipts     of repayment of loans;
donations;
any     other inflow of foreign exchange, unrelated to rendering of services, etc.
2. Export turnover relating to services of units operating under EOU / EHTP / STPI / BTP Schemes or supplies of services made to such units.

No Haven 0.945
Highlights for this one include new assignments, a new race,  training being overhauled, new Ensnared Rose intro with various options, and more
Download links can be found on the No Haven page. Update notes can be found under the break.
If you don’t have RAGS and you need a copy to run it there’s one on the help page here or the one pinned on the patreon you can find a link to in the attached read me which is more up to date. If RAGS has never worked on your system despite the help page suggestions then it might be worth trying with one of the alternate players. There’s also improvements on there to the RAGS player that can also help with performance.
Change log under the break:
v0.945:
-Miscellaneous additions: ---Upgraded the Lago'mae trait package which was Slutty - Sex Addict - Seductive - Bimbo - Emotional to have Insatiable instead. ---Adjusted the Bimbo, Sissy, restraints, Obsessed Over, and Pariah penalties so overthrows should be not quite so instantaneous with those. Starting with Unproven as a Bimbo or Sissy could result in a day 1 loss. ---Made the favoured magic/elementalist trait in Full Custom wording less ambiguous.
-Bug fixes: ---Fix for Advanced Anal Training giving Obedient again. ---Fix for too many people having the dolled up ass. ---Fix for Nymph's not having a value. Which also fixed them getting increasingly valuable each time you estimated or examined them. ---Fix for the other reason why Nymph's weren't dominating slavers. ---Fix for Barbarous Bargains having an issue with having the wrong goals available when lacking in gold which could lead to getting stuck. ---Fix for an issue where part of the slave intros which you get before doing biomancy, corruption, making use of, etc. would be missing. While I was there I noticed that the recall bits don't really work if the slave came pre-trained like with the pirate booty so I've used some alternate wording to account for that which I've also used as a variation to the existing ones. I've also added some more text there for slaves who had previously not had specific ones like the cheerleaders.
v0.944:
-Miscellaneous additions: ---Added some new combined gender options for the slaver recruitment General Order. I also made 'Easy' for that more likely. ---No idea how but sometime before release the original intro that I remember being pretty good to arriving at the Marshlands following the letter got replaced by the ambush version. Also rather annoyingly it's apparently the one bit of text in the update that I didn't copy into docs for posterity, and I also can't find it in any of the backups, so I've had to rewrite it. ---Artful Whore is now an Exceptional on Corner and Pillow Talk. ---Anal Slut is now an Exceptional on Corner, Pillow Talk, Ponygirl Training, and both Anal Trainings. I've also made it so that if Anal Slut is an Exceptional on an assignment you'll get a Critical bonus for having Pleasure Enhancement-Ass or Dolled Up from the Neck Down. You don't need Anal Slut to get those bonuses but they do stack if you do. ---Added some extra ass examine description For Dolled Up Neck Down to reflect this. ---Added Crafter: Culinary (C:Cu) as a Success of Forage Supplies. ---If Dominated/Obedient will not count Submissive as a penalty on assignments. ---Sudden Betrayal and Whore Makers are no perma remove assignments with no chance of an unexpected return. ---Witches will always be permanently removed with no chance of return. ---Added an explanation of what Head Slaves do in Help. ---Added a note to Green Soul to confirm the time reduction stacking does work by having more than one. ---Despoiler's 'Reward' should now correctly count as chastity in all respects. It will also count as the belt from Quick as you Like apart from not having the morale loss. Added a chance to gain morale from that belt too, and added a bit of extra text to both results to reflect exactly why the morale is going up or down. ---Oozes will be less likely to inflict full gender transformation. Updated the Gathering Tide aspect to prevent it for all oozes entirely. ---Made it impossible to convince a golem to become a bed warmer or camp bitch. ---Slavers with slave training should now get the value estimate bonuses for having done that training.
-Bug fixes: ---Fix for the 'Say you'll handle it in private and do' dilemma choice. ---Fix for Corner of your Own incorrectly saying you can't send a female slaver when you always could. ---Fix for not being able to send a slave on the second role on Shuffled Deck. ---Fix for the slaver return piercings having the wrong spacing. ---Fix for realizing your slaver's worst fears not actually doing anything. ---Fix for succubi missing their flying mounts. While I was there I added a chance for those races with set flying mounts to be able to get a different mount. ---Fix for the Drider or Ooze skipping Catastrophic and instead getting a bonus not working like it does for Disasters. ---Fix for Centre of Attention, Gloryhole Box and Marshlands Survival not being listed in Assignment Overview. ---Fix for Unstable Change time reduction not working. ---Fix for Slaving Assignments repicking not clearing everything it should likely causing a myriad of issues. ---Fix for Scout the Deep Mountains time reduction for Flying being four days rather than the correct two. ---Fix for not being able to send a slaver-in-training on Halt Slaver Caravan or Halt Draenei Caravan. ---Fix for an issue where some traits may not have been checked specifically on certain assignments. ---Fix for Shadriel's aspect not taking up an aspect slot. ---Fix for Treachery Most Foul being listed twice in Overview Assignments. ---Fix for getting the burning crown corruption having the same text regardless of whether the character had spiritual/faith. I've also added some specific text if you get it as previously it only read right for someone else getting it. ---Fix for the Depraved trait abbreviation on Retribution for Arrogance and Arrogance Subjugated. ---Fix for Johanna von Knittlingen not getting the value bonus from her tongue. ---Fix for Elementalist: Air (E:Ai) not having a value bonus. ---Fix for missing/repeated text in Glimpse of Paradise if you get one of the hidden bonuses on the Critical Success. ---Fix for Cocksucking Natural being applied twice. ---Fix for the Aspect Green Soul not correctly giving the fully favoured bonus to being in the Ever Forest. ---Fix for Lago'Mae not always coming with Insatiable by default. ---Fix for the eight day version of Barbarous Bargains instead adding an Ample Distractions. ---Fix for Alice and Bles not showing anal training. Also not getting them Insatiable on Advanced Bimbo Training if they have Resilient. ---Fix for Dominated Slavers not showing the status effect like Slaves do. ---Some text fixes.
v0.943: New Assignments: ---The third and final part of Thornspire with a commission generously funded by a patron. Has some truly crazy potential rewards given all you need to do to get there.
-Miscellaneous additions: ---Got a comment about the lack of variety, length, and facials. After checking there were two causes for this. Facials were mainly a thing for titfucks only while most of the lengthier blowjob texts required training, obedience, or other factors so often they were defaulting to the basic result. Due to this I've adapted the titfuck facials so they can now occur during blowjobs. I've also added alternate options for when the blowjob result would normally change to the default one. Some of these are different enough they'll appear as an alternative to what would normally have been the result if the requirements were met. Also there's some other touch ups and more minor additions in there which don't just apply to blowjobs. ---Added a notification if a trait is boosted by Arcane Winds on assignments. ---Added some better formatting to highlight when getting a new assignment from an assignment. Also corrected some where it said a plural assignments when you were just going one. ---No more getting out of the Meddling Fools region debuff by just removing the assignment. ---Expert Fellatrix will no longer remove Dominant/Switch, and if so will not grant Obedient on the Critical or Submissive on the Success. So now you can put a slave through Advanced Dominance Training and then still get them to be really good at blowjobs without losing their dominance. ---For consistency you'll get the blonde demi-angel examine and not the black hair one if you're playing a demi-angel yourself.
-Bug fixes: ---Fix for the second part of Thornspire having the wrong display name. ---Fix for the first of Thornspire applying too much Xp to individual slavers on the Critical Success ---Fix for the Ensnared Rose letter turning up or the Shuffled Deck starting if you're away on an assignment. ---Fix for the slaver from the Ensnared Rose letter options having the same identifier as the last character generated resulting in duplication. ---Fix for Severina's art if playing as her yourself. ---Fix for Shuffled Deck where no one could be assigned to that one. ---Fix for the Featured Patrons text appearing when you change nicknaming. ---Fix for some total mind breaks such as from Domination not also removing Learning related traits like Educated or Folklorist. ---Fix for an issue where forced not male slavers could be generated as males anyway. ---Fix for tails being fondled twice. ---Fix for Scavenging rank up giving you Infiltration specialized slavers instead of Scavenging ones. ---Fix for everything to do with dreams being turned off. That affected the later parts of Quick as you Like, Heavenly Debauchery, Puppet Leader enforced sexy times, and being Possessed Nightly Activities. ---Fix for the no one else around check if choosing to ambush on the letter encounter. ---Fix for not getting a rare race when choosing the hardest option on Slaver Caravan. ---Fix for Keeping an eye on the slave on Price of Freedom overwriting the odds. ---Fix for Fel Tide not generating a Hold Back the Dark assignment. ---Fix for Alice not getting her training options if you get her from the letter rather than by Full Custom. ---Fix for Alice and Bles missing some training options along with adding some checks to ensure things don't go wrong if they become a slave. ---Experimental fix for armour tracking issues. Not 100% certain, but I couldn't replicate it. I also ran a tracker for pretty much everything that adds or subtracts armour and it all seemed to work properly. ---Some text fixes.
v0.942:
New Assignments: ---A special assignment for one of the uniques you can either start as or find on an assignment. You'll need to do something, or more specifically have something not happen, but if you can do that long enough this will become available. Has two commissions both funded by a patron and has one of the most unique uniques yet. The unique or you can gain an upgraded version of an existing aspect with a bunch more power and text. ---Advanced Anal Training. Will make the slave more likely to be used for anal and will again reduce the effects during sexy times.
Legion: ---Has a new commission for their examine which also has a version so they can now be Futanari as well as Males. This will be used for an assignment down the line so they won't be quite so tricky to find. ---Updated all the specific Legion text when they're refusing to do things. ---Updated their dialogue titles and swears. ---Significantly improved Legion starting traits to reflect their power. ---Expanded their lore page with another paragraph. ---Updated their skin colours. ---Updated their physical description which includes losing their tails.
Sable Masquerade: ---Thanks to a generous patron there's a new commission with a whopping five different variations. Specifically the assignment itself, the unique you can get on it as slaver and as a slave, a crop for the precursor to that assignment which is Treachery Most Foul. That crop is used for the unique as a slaver you can get on that assignment, and there's another version of that crop where she is a slave.
-Miscellaneous additions: ---Reworded Land Piracy Success to correct some unclear wording and to flesh it out a bit more. ---Updated the Ensnared Rose Letter Ambush text if you don't have anyone else around when you go. ---The Ensnared Rose Letter won't turn up if you're not currently able to follow the instructions such as due to being wounded. ---Lasciel Oathbreaker now gets a value bonus from both of her races rather than neither of them. ---Updated the Ooze racial to reflect the unpredictable effects of their touches on non-Oozes. During sexy times they now have a chance (increased by low condition and/or willpower) to apply one of the Blessings of Perversion corruptions (not including some of the more full on corrupting themed ones) to their partner. This can also happen on the new Special Ever Forest assignment and also on the Deluge of Oozes disaster.
-Bug fixes: ---Critical fix for the slave disappearing issues and other serious wonkiness resulting in following the Ensnared Rose letter. ---Fix for Nymph's gender limiter. ---Fix for getting more than one slaver if you find the unique on Adversarial Affairs. ---Fix for Conjured Companion not turning off if you lose Magic: Summoner (M:Su) ---Fix for Basic Anal Training Fail saying it gives the training. ---Some text fixes.
v0.941:
Ensnared Rose Introduction: ---Rather than available from the start, the Ensnared Rose will now be introduced early on in the first month. This will also introduce as part of normal gameplay the concepts of the Town, Tavern, Mercenaries, and the Marshlands to new players who might otherwise have missed that option. ---You can ignore it and not have access for that playthrough, or you can get a new encounter which can provide a number of bonuses to starting off. ---You can either get no strings attached gold, more gold as a loan (which can kickstart the debt storyline), a slaver (potentially one of the existing recruitable uniques if you don't take her at the start), information on some better quality assignments in all regions, or a special outfit. ---Subs, and especially those with the Exhibitionist or Pretty Maid aspects will have a much harder time not taking the outfit.
-Miscellaneous additions: ---Sissies can now have their cock enhanced by Biomancy to a set limit. So you can correct them if you accidentally make them too small and are worried about the risk of making them a full woman, but they're also not going to be challenging even an average Futa anytime soon. ---Asanei slavers will now use the Adversarial Affairs commission for their examine until I can get something less specific for them.
-Bug fixes: ---Fix for a potentially missing skill check for unchangable attire. ---Fix for the bisected now being counted as unchangeable attire for skill checks. ---Fix for being able to get out of Ettersilk or the corrupted armour by trading outfits. ---Fix for Bimboborn still being an option on level up. ---Fix for Weald Autonomy rejecting slaves in the third slot. ---Fix for the Amazons on Barbarous Bargains nicking a big chunk of your supplies if you trade by Other Means. It also no longer takes supplies to go on. ---Fix for the drow tattooist going over the top on guys at the Tavern. She's pouting, but has promised at last to knock it off. ---Fix for the updated Advanced Obedience Training getting the races the wrong way round. ---Fix for Adversarial Affairs getting mixed up with The Elvish Art.
v0.94:
New Race: ---Thornheart Nymphs have been added with a new Rare assignment in the Ever Forest. Can be Female or Futanari with commissioned art for both. ---With their racial will be very powerful though they do have some definite drawbacks making them quite the double edged sword. ---Has specific text to reflect their alternate way of inflicting Domination. ---Once found via the assignment will then start appearing rarely like any other character can as both slavers and slaves. ---Can be playable if one takes over the encampment after an overthrow event, or you can start as one as one of the Promoted Slaver options (TF Edition only). If you start as one then Nymphs will be in the generator from the start without you needing to do their assignment.
New Assignments (not counting the Nymphs one): ---An Uncommon Trading Amazon themed assignment in the Ever Forest. Has four goals where it can work similarly to the standard Great Plains Trading assignment including options for an alternate payment plan other than gold or supplies. Includes special text for Submissive playthroughs even if you don't go as the alternate payment plan though there is a different special Disaster if you do. Also includes alternate text in some of the results for being Insatiable, being a wright, or having other ways to have limitless sexual energy, along with if you take  a pair of slavers who won't ask questions about what you get up to on this one. ---A reduced rarity Marauding legal themed assignment in the City of Aversol. Thank you to the patron who funded the two commissions used for this one. Includes the possibility of recruiting the hidden unique recruitable slaver featured in the art.
New Commissions: ---Decadence Like No Other. Features a new race of beastkin who will be added in a later update. Has non-female variants that will be used if you don't send a female on that assignment and will be used as slave Examines down the line. ---Zharr females. Plan is to use it for a Zharr themed assignment on the Dreadsea Coast down the line. ---Nest of Vipers, also used for Fel Tainted Lamia slavers. Has alternate versions used for Fel Tainted Lamia futanari, and Fel Tainted Lamia slaves. Also has a crop for non-Fel Tainted Lamia that I'll use for now until I can get something more suitable. Will be used down the line as a follow up to A Brief Foray. ---Drow female slavers, with a less dressed version used for Drow female slaves. Plan is to use her for a new start, and thank you to the patron who submitted this commission. ---Driders. Will be used for a new Deep Mountains assignment eventually, and does come with a zoomed version. I've also kept the Scout the City version as an Examine for Driders with Submissive. ---Fallen female slavers, with a less dressed versions used for Fallen female slaves. Also has alternate versions to replace the Demi-Angel female slaver and slavers examine to distinguish her from the unique that used the same commission. Thank you to the patron who submitted these new variations on that commission. I've kept the old Fallen placeholder art for now until I can get a commission featuring Futanari. ---Double Dicked Golems. Also has a variant for Golems doing punishment, and a zoomed in version that will alternate with the other Human Noble slaves. That version will also be used for any futanari doing double dicking.
Slave Training Review: ---Extended and improved the intro text for Basic Dominance Training, Basic Obedience Training, Orc Cum Addict, Basic Sissification Training, Advanced Sissification Training, Advanced Lesbian Training, Basic Blowjob Training, Advanced Blowjob Training, and Exquisite Fellatrix Training. Touched up some of the others to a more minor degree. ---Extended and improved the Critical Success result text for Advanced Bimbo Training, Basic Bimbo Training, Advanced Dominance Training, Exquisite Fellatrix Training, Basic Dominance Training, Advanced Lesbian Training, Advanced Blowjob Training, Basic Lesbian Training, Basic Anal Training, Advanced Sissification Training, Advanced Obedience Training, Basic Sissification Training, Heal Slut Training, and Basic Obedience Training. ---Extended and improved the Success result text for Advanced Titfuck Training, Basic Titfuck Training, Advanced Bimbo Training, Basic Bimbo Training, Heal Slut Training, Endurance Training, Advanced Dominance Training, Orc Cum Addict (including all orc, no orc, and shakko versions), Exquisite Fellatrix Training, Basic Dominance Training, Advanced Lesbian Training, Advanced Blowjob Training, Basic Lesbian Training, Advanced Sissification Training, Advanced Obedience Training, Basic Blowjob Training, and Basic Obedience Training (including Stubborn and Defiant removal versions). There's a few of the redone Successes which are now longer than the Critical Success results which I don't think I've done before, and if I have, it's definitely pretty rare for them to be so. ---Extended and improved the Failure result text for Advanced Bimbo Training, Advanced Titfuck Training, Basic Titfuck Training, Basic Bimbo Training, Ponygirl Training, Endurance Training (including adding the previously missed You version), Advanced Dominance Training (mainly the You Sub version), Orc Cum Addict (again including all orc, no orc, and shakko versions), Exquisite Fellatrix Training, Advanced Lesbian Training, Advanced Blowjob Training, Basic Lesbian Training, Advanced Sissification Training (as a bit of an experiment added some dialogue from you here), Advanced Obedience Training, Basic Blowjob Training, Basic Sissification Training, and Basic Obedience Training. ---Extended and improved the Disaster result text for Orc Cum Addict (again including all versions with the Shakko version in my opinion being the highlight), Endurance Training, Heal Slut Training, Basic Bimbo Training (Includes the alternate Obedient version for those two, the otherwise unchanged Anal Training Disaster result also uses that updated version if applicable), the generic 'Be Gentle' options (now includes versions for your doing it and for them being Obedient), the generic 'Be Brutal'/Sadist/Aggressive/Brutal/Unscrupulous options (also now includes versions for your doing it and for them being Obedient), and Exquisite Fellatrix Training where it's not either of the previous two generic options. ---Added extra morale losses for the Disaster results for Orc Cum Addict (with the all orc version being by far the heaviest) ---Being Obedient now blocks the generic nothing else applies 'more ready and willing to resist the shackles of slavery' Disaster result where the slave got a Willpower boost and there was a -10 Morale Hit. Uses the same text as the Heal Slut Training, Basic Bimbo Training, and Anal Training. ---Bimbos can now do bimbo training so you can bimbo your bimbos to an even greater degree. ---Advanced Dominance Training now has an alternate result text for slavers with Dominant (Dom), including Switch and hidden Dominants, on the Critical Success. If they don't the slaver can now pick up Submissive (Sub) along with a damaged reputation. ---Basic Bimbo Critical Success now gives Sex Addict (Sex) instead of Insatiable (Sex+) ---Advanced Bimbo Critical Success only applies Insatiable (Sex+) with Resilient (Res) and 80+ Condition. This is to make that trait more of a specific thing for Trollops and Lago'Mae rather than being quite so easy to maintain. ---Advanced Obedience Training now as text on the Critical Success if already Obedient (Sub+). I don't think that's possible given the training paths, but it's there now just in case. ---Advanced Obedience Training Critical Success only applies Obedient (Sub+) with 80+ Willpower along with Submissive (Sub) which it need before to make it trickier to get so relatively early on in a slave's training, and to make the other sources of getting that trait more desirable. There's alternate text to both versions based on Willpower if they have Submissive (Sub) going into the assignment. ---Advanced Lesbian Critical Success can give Lesbian Desires if the slave doesn't get it on Basic version. Added a estimate value bonus to Lesbian Desires. ---Advanced Blowjob Training also now can give Cocksucking Natural on the Critical Success if they didn't get it on the basic version. ---Advanced Dominance Training now removes Sympathetic (Sym) on both Critical Success and Success results. ---To replace the aspect Bimboborn which Advanced Bimbo Critical Success used to give I've added a new aspect to that result called Ditzy Doll. This aspect will also replace Bimboborn as a Level Up option so that aspect will only be available from Corruption for now to reflect the nature of that aspect being about having one of the naughtier powers watching over them no matter the trouble that they might get into. Ditzy Doll is the first aspect to scale in power with the character's experience which is an idea I like and one that I'll revisit when I get round to adding more aspects. Like with slaver gear upgrades you'll use assignment ranks up instead, and yes you can take this aspect on a Level Up unlike Bimboborn. ---To expand on the mechanic where mantras could be embedded by having someone with Hypnotic (Hyp), Dominator (Dtr), Magic: Corruption (M:Co) (also Corrupter), or Malevolence (Mal) twenty four new Critical and Success results now have the potential to ad the relevant mantras at various stages from Light all the way to Fully Embedded. ---Added a small chance for a mantra to be applied during those specific training Critical Success results even without the usually needed traits to represent an especially powerful breakthrough. ---Heal Slut Training will no longer give Lay on Hands if they already have the usual maximum of five aspects. ---Heal Slut Training, Basic Titfuck Training, Advanced Titfuck Training, and Ponygirl Training are now all counted as Obedience Training assignments for the purpose of getting a bonus from the Obedience Mantra. ---Ponygirl Training now adds Resilient (Res) on both Success results. ---Removed the feminine pronouns on the various Blowjob results that assumed the trainee was a 'her' to reflect it can be done by males too. Exquisite Fellatrix Training Critical Success now has specific male slave text so you can now have a Prince of Blowjobs to go with the Queen. ---Exquisite Fellatrix Training on a Disaster now sets the slave back to Basic Blowjob Training, though not if you treat then gently or they are Obedient. ---Updated some formatting for better visibility, and some other more minor text additions not mentioned above.
-Miscellaneous additions: ---Due to adding Thornheart Nymphs more than doubled the number of Horned One female first names and surnames for both genders in the generator including some specific ones just for Nymphs. ---Added Kitsune, Lago'Mae, Shadow Outcasts, and Asanei to the rare races table so they'll be slightly more common than before where they only had a very low chance to be found on their usual tables, and will now have a better chance to be found as higher quality characters. ---To make the Golem Commander unique commission more specific I've changed the Wastelander slave commission that uses the same art to a closer crop than before. ---Increased the Will/Condition loss for slaves if they'd get that instead of getting Shattered/Exhausted ---Adjusted the Shattered/Exhaustion calculations so the risk has more of an effect each way, if it's not for wounding/removal then being Aggressive will no longer make things worse while Fleet or Flying can no longer help avoiding being overly tired. So no longer will being able to ride a pegasus help you out in the glorybox. ---Asanei have lost their crest in favour of the hair-tentacles in the commissions, and the come in three variations. ---Updated the lamia lore page to expand it, and to ditch some obsolete information about their race. ---Made a change so Ecstatica should stack better with Fae Flying, Size Queen'd, and Sapphic High. ---Replaced Sapphic High on the Fully Embedded Sissy mantra (which they weren't getting anyway) with a new effect that allows a slaver using them to count as Dominant if it would be a positive on the next assignment. ---Changed the wording of Fully Embedded Bimbo mantra to represent they can get extra mantras later via training. ---Lesbian Hypnotic Mantra is now available to Non-Males with a different version with the same effects to reflect that. Also includes some alternate dialogue lines during sex text for when slaves have this mantra. ---Added a new Glossary page for Hypnotic Mantras. ---Standardised how extra morale loss works on assignments with a more consistent formatting display. Also removed an odd inconsistency where the third position on Hold Back the Dark was losing 10 morale less than the others. ---Added some checks at the end of corruption to prevent anyone going over 100 morale. ---By request Golems may no longer purchase the rank III Slaver Upgrades. ---Legacy Decim-Vex has sorted out her unconventional hairstyle and has gained some height in the process. ---Sea Elves and Golems will now be unable to have a secret desire to be the Spiritual Leader, and will not have a faith that they've been keeping quiet about. The new Nymphs will work the same way. ---Krystal has had a visit from the boob reduction fairy. ---Removed the deeply inappropriate witchy-looking outfit for Magic: Nature users for a new look. Also Hedge-Witch is now Wise-Woman. ---Added skin colour variation for Asanei.
-Bug fixes: ---Fix for the Best Left Sealed Asanei popping up during end of day sexy times instead of what should have been there. ---Fix for the extra Diplomacy XP not applying on Glimpse of Paradise. ---Fix for the Tavern Drow having such an obsession for a specific tattoo for the guys. ---Fix for Persuasive (Per) check only working in the suggestions for Listening to Whispers. ---Fix for Scout the Deep Mountains being claimed to only last six days rather than seven. ---Fix for High Elf not being checked correctly on assignments. Might just be Imperial Muses, but if there's others, it would have not worked for those too. ---Some text fixes.

Review: THE WITCHER 2: ASSASSINS OF KINGS (2011)
Tumblr media
With the first Witcher game under my belt, I decided to plunge straightaway into the second game in the series: The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Expecting little beyond improvements in graphics and controls, I was very curious to see how the game delivered on the cliffhanger ending of the first game, in which Geralt of Rivia defended King Foltest of Temeria from a would-be assassin, only to reveal that the killer was also a witcher. I’d had a decent time with The Witcher: Enhanced Edition, particularly in the storytelling aspects and the choose- your-own-adventure narrative, but had found myself frustrated by dated game design and graphics and lackluster combat. Still, it was, by the end, an arresting experience that had captured my intrigue enough to make me want to go back and replay it to see what paths I could have chosen. Choice is truly the number one aspect of The Witcher, in that Geralt generally chooses not to choose sides, but is often found forced into doing so. Choice is also the highlight of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, so much so that by the end of the game I was nearly horrified with how all of my decisions, ambient though some of them were, had stacked into a neat pile of awful fuckery. If you want to feel good about what you’ve done by the end of a game, The Witcher series might not be for you. But if moral ambiguity and robust, branching paths are what you seek, then read on dear reader, because things are about to get immediately messy in what is some ways a vastly superior sequel to the first game, but in other ways falls short of the narrative potential established by its predecessor.
From the start, Witcher 2 is once again a big game of Choose Your Own Adventure. Opening with a prologue establishing Geralt’s involvement in a political assassination, the player is continually given agency over where Geralt is going, what he wants to do, and how he is going to do it. This is at once the game’s biggest strength. Just as in the first game, Geralt’s choices have domino effects that tumble down the slippery slope of lesser evil decision making, affecting what characters do and whether or not they might appear elsewhere in the game. And, furthering the CYOA aspects, certain portions of the grander story are hidden from sight should Geralt choose to go down a different path. Maybe some characters will have happier endings than we see them get if Geralt decides to help them instead of quest elsewhere -- maybe not. Perhaps the biggest departure from the previous game’s style is that the entire second chapter of Witcher 2 is different depending on which side of a conflict you choose to enable. This, of course, is also all based on whom you’ve sided with previously, with deft moments of quick situational judgements, some of them timed. Give the elven rebel his sword so he can defend himself, or push him to the side so you can leap into the fray yourself? Not every decision is placed in front of the player as a monumental choice; some of them are as simple and clean as whether or not you pick up an object in front of you, knowingly saving someone’s life. This makes the world -- and the story -- feel surprisingly alive, vibrant, always on edge as though the lightest touch in any direction will spell consequences for some and reward for others. This does, however, create a shorter gameplay experience overall. Where my full playthrough of the first game was close to fifty hours, I clocked in just over thirty hours here, but this is partially because the full content of the game cannot be seen in only one playthrough. There’s a massive amount of game to be held, but the unfortunate reality is that it can only be seen piecemeal. It’s like getting to the end of an actual Choose Your Own Adventure novel, only to realize there’s a vast amount of pages left unread because you didn’t take the roads less traveled...or simply traveled differently. For better or for worse, the first time through this game will leave the player with the sensation that there is a lot that they didn’t get to see, despite the freedom of branching paths being thrilling and adventurous. And the story itself isn’t nearly as investing as the previous game. Geralt’s adventure in clearing his name of wrongdoing and tracking down his memories are at the forefront of his story, but in the background is a complex, political plot that simultaneously is and isn’t important to follow. Decisions made by Geralt heavily affect what’s going on, even as Geralt himself is constantly growling about how he wants to track the kingslayer and a missing friend. But the game and the characters populating it continually drag him back to the fray because they need him, dammit, and if he wants the means to his ends then he’ll have to endure everyone else’s shit. Perhaps that’s the point: Geralt’s actions continually change the entire world around him, whether he wants to be a part of it or not. That said, the straightforward narrative is defiantly strong here, partly because the branching system demands it need be. This is a Story with a Purpose, the Purpose being to establish a series of unfortunate events happening around Geralt, if not to Geralt. But when it’s as bland as it is -- save for the bits where Geralt is trying to clear his name -- it can be difficult at times to maintain a steady pace. And the entire third act takes place in a ruined elven city which is a chore to navigate, nearly ruining the momentum and the whole of the game’s experience; there’s two disasterously difficult combat engagements to wade through as well as a grating boss battle with a large beast, not to mention a magical puzzle which demands navigating the labyrinthine ruins if you want to discover what it is. And yet, by the end, the house of cards comes tumbling down into the awful realization that everything behind the scenes has been doing its utmost to raise the stakes high enough to win the whole pot, and depending on Geralt’s actions, it does so to varying degrees. I sincerely doubt there is anything close to a happy ending in one of the alleged 16 conclusions the game contains; if anything, it can only go from shitfucked to fucked-with-hope-on-the-horizon. And, despite the sometimes slog, that’s effective.
Gameplay has seen a heavy upgrade. Gone are the original title’s point and click controls, replaced with a more intuitive interface that relies heavily on action and exploration. Similar to Arkham Asylum’s Detective Vision, Geralt can use his medallion to scan the world around him for interactive elements or objects to search through. Neat in concept, but oftentimes the execution is lacking; it can be incredibly difficult to find objects on the ground left by corpses without always using the medallion, as they can get lost in the surrounding scenery. Upgraded, too, is the combat, which is thankfully no long a boring fucking exercise in clicking at the right time to string together combos. Geralt rolls, swings, magics at the click of a button, using the WASD and mouse camera to keep an eye on the action. The triple division of combat styles -- fast, strong, and group -- are replaced with a fast and strong attack bound to the two mouse keys, and upgrades can make it so Geralt’s attacks can hit multiple people. Blocking is integral, but Geralt needs vitality for a block to be effective, or it will chip away his health. I both enjoyed and did not enjoy the new combat system. It’s functional, but I couldn’t help but feel out of control in tense moments, attempting to roll or dodge or block or use signs between sword strikes. Geralt only swings at whoever he is targeting, not simply in front of him, so if you accidentally turn the camera to the wrong angle while trying to attack he will swiftly turn and swing at someone else entirely, leaving him open to devastating counterattacks from behind. Frustration can mount quickly, as it seems that Geralt is a whole hell of a lot squishier this time around than in the first game. Sure, the first Witcher had plenty of moments where getting overwhelmed could happen in the blink of an eye and Geralt would turn into fresh meat, but Witcher 2 makes every sword fight feel like an exercise in dodging just to stay alive. Maybe I wasn’t playing with enough patience, but it felt like I spent more time rolling and running to regain health than I did connecting with satisfying blows. Sometimes, quicktime events pop up during major boss encounters, which are devastatingly difficult in needless ways. Just like in the first game, Witcher 2 will absolutely dial up the volume on the difficulty knob without warning and around an unseen corner, to an extent where I found myself pained by exhaustion and anger at yet another GAME OVER scene. This is compounded by the strenuous camera, which is awkward at best in outdoors environments, frustratingly awful in close quarters hallways. Making things even worse is the game’s departure from the previous healing methods in The Witcher: where potions could be downed on the fly, and food eaten to regain mild portions of health, now the only way to heal is potions while meditating, or simply by meditating. Without the ability to heal in the middle of combat the thoroughly aggressive enemies will stymie even seasoned players as they watch their health bar helpless disappear with no respite.
Graphically speaking, this is leaps and bounds better than the original. High-detail, crisp textures, far draw distances, I very rarely had any stuttering or framerate issues. At worst, there was minor pop-in and fade in, some seams showing where textures were laid out, and jittery models here and there. Also, motion blur and bloom were turned on by default. Never fun. It was an absolute job to take in the world on hand, with the variety of monsters and humanoid characters to encounter, lovingly rendered with tons of color and flair. Outside of the story, this is where the game truly shines. Before there had been low-res models being reused left and right, but here nearly every character model (outside of factory-line soldiers) feels unique enough to recognize in and out of combat. It’s really a fucking wonder to behold. It felt the same as the graphical leap between Uncharted and Uncharted 2, with nearly an overwhelming amount of detail in the world to take in, dizzingly put together in a way that is breathing and living.
That said, is the game actually an improvement over the first title? Well, yes and no. Graphically, interactively, yes, to an extent. The branching narrative is bold, but feels like there is so much you’re missing out on once you’ve chosen a particular path. For example, there’s a dragon that exists in the game, and its origins are shrouded in mystery. I only discovered them based on a trophy I got at the end of the game, which felt like a huge cheat to learn that way. If the game had told me something about the dragon’s nature, even down the path I took which actively led me away from the dragon, then I wouldn’t have felt disappointed, but it didn’t. I learned the answer through a trophy. And in many ways, while this game does things better than the first game, it’s only to slight degrees, and while I do want to go back and play this again, it’s difficult to do so after a somewhat disappointing first run. Geralt’s story was excellent, and kept me on the edge of my seat whenever it came around, but everything else that happened felt largely disconnected from what was driving Geralt this time around, and ultimately only served as setup for the third game in the series. Again, perhaps that’s the point: perhaps Geralt will have to face the weight of his decisions, that which defines the world at large whilst he maintains a selfish lean towards his personal goals. Geralt of Rivia both is and is not the most important person in this story -- he is but one man who is forging a path towards his wants and needs, but maybe he’s crumbling kingdoms along the way, intentionally or no. While I’ve heard nothing but Game Of The Year praise for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, I’m keeping my expectations tempered based on this sequel, which is fun and daunting and clever, but the drawbacks are hefty, saved only by the draw of the lead character and the living story itself.
Final Score: 7.5/10

Hi! Could you make defaults for the commercial display freezers? I loved your defaults on cereal and tv dinner <3
Hi! Thank you. :D
That is definitely something I’m interested in doing but I suspect that what I want is going to be a little high poly (lot of food meshes) so I won’t promise anything for right now but it’s on my list.
Things I wanna replace sometime soon:
- Clothing racks.
- Date rewards.
- Community freezers.
- Currency and hobby magazine textures.
- The rest of the meals.

【 Pregnant Girlfriend 】
Kurono was serious when he said that he’d give you your own child to fuss over instead of you continually sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong. He’d initially thought to simply go out and kidnap some child he found on the streets for you to keep as a pet the to look after as a trade for you wanting to look after Eri, but Chisaki wouldn’t allow him to bring vermin home even if it was to keep you from ruining all their hard work by treating Eri as a person, or worse, setting her free. Without the option to kidnap a replacement child, Kurono opts to shut you up by impregnating you himself.
Being a man of science doesn’t mean Kurono possesses knowledge about the biological science behind pregnancy. His knowledge and interest in the subject doesn’t go past his physical involvement in the creation of life and the fact that you’re carrying his child won’t make him feel obligated to learn more. His obligations are with researching and developing the Quirk-Destroying serum and as such that is what most of his brain power is dedicated to. Anything pertaining to your health and the development of your child is secondary. He made you quite aware that the only reason he even agreed to take on the task of gathering your child was to use it as a bartering chip in the negotiation for you leaving Eri out of your mind. Because if he hadn’t and you persisted, you could’ve inadvertently dismantled Chisaki’s entire crusade against wiping out Quirks and he’d much rather become a father than see his friend’s hard work go down the drain because you have a conscience. He fulfilled his role and you’ll fulfill yours, and that includes looking after your child from conception onward.
When asked, no matter how sweetly, to buy some obscured food only found in a specific store to fuel your outlandish cravings and ravenous stomach or holding your hair while you throw it all up in the wee hours of the morning, Kurono will deny you. Your pregnancy doesn’t suddenly pause all his obligation that don’t revolve around you and he’ll be sure that you know this after the first time you get upset with him for not immediately bending to your every whim. He never has and you carrying his child won’t change that. He doesn’t have time to be running petty errands to feed your bottomless pit of a stomach and you own hair ties for a reason. If the situation is dire enough that you’ll pitch a fit if you don’t get exactly what you want right then, he’ll send and underling to attend to whatever it is you want even if that means driving to the other side of the city to buy you some imported snack at 3 AM.
The fluctuating levels of hormones and overall discomfort that accompanies pregnancy has an ill effect on your ability to behave yourself in Kurono’s presence. It’s led to him getting angry with you on more than one occasion and he’s only made angrier by the fact that his traditional methods of punishment aren’t exactly viable in your current state. Usually being in his presence while he’s in a sour mood that was unprompted or unrelated to you would be grounds for rough treatment or harsh words just to vent his anger, it’s harder to do when you’re growing a life inside you. Physically harm that he’d usually inflict by being rough with you in bed isn’t possible with your movement being constricted by your growing stomach and your mood swings make emotional manipulation pointless. So for the duration of your pregnancy Kurogiri takes to roughing up lackeys in lieu of you whenever you behave in an unsavory way while with him.
Though he’s always known your presence in the underground made you vulnerable Kurono hadn’t expected it to escalate during your pregnancy. Of course he knew you were the object of many an underling’s desire, he wouldn’t tire you around like a prize horse if you weren’t, but he’d expected the changes to your body to deter them not elevate their desires. Kurono has heard that pregnancy makes you more beautiful because you get a maternal glow but he hadn’t expected the ruffians in the underground to be susceptible to such a thing. Your pregnancy is more of an inconvenience to him than an aphrodisiac and he’d expected the same reaction from the lower ranks. If you’d thought he was possessive before it’s nothing compared to how is is now that you’re pregnant. And while you know his fierce protection is so no one steals his so-called prize out from under him you’ll happily pretend it’s fatherly love. It makes the stricter rules just a bit more palatable.
If Kurono’s visits had been sparse before, they’re nearly nonexistent now that you’re pregnant. Usually he’d come to visit you to relieve stress but his default way of doing so isn’t exactly viable with your current condition. He’ll try to stomach having a normal conversation with you, but your resentment of him has never made you very talkative with him and the only subject you seem interested in is that of your child. Such uninteresting rambling with your added inability to stomach his aloof personality for very long without getting upset when your hormones start raging makes visiting you a very unsavory experience. So Kurono opts to do it only when he has the time and the patience to deal with you.
Willing or not you and your unborn child are going to become a test subject. Kurono won’t initially think to put you in a place that puts the life of your child, and by extension you, at risk but it’s not everyday a pregnant woman with a completely viable fetus growing inside her is wandering around the underground. Kurono would be misguided to turn away such a golden opportunity to test prenatal Quirk removal. It’d be possible to deter him with the promise that you’ll allow him fi poke and prod the baby with whatever he wants when they’re born, though you’re hoping it will be the usually shots to prevent illness but that’s unlikely seeing as his boss thinks having a Quirk is akin to being ill. But if they were direct orders from Chisaki there is no way for him to postpone the experiment. Though he knows Chisaki could care less if it proves unsuccessful and causes harm to you or your baby.
Preparing for the baby isn’t as fun as you’d heard it could be, but Kurono tends to suck the enjoyment out of most things with his deadpan way of doing just about everything. You aren’t even allowed to go out and buy things yourself. He simply gives you a list of items to choose from that he curated from a one off internet search and sends someone to pick up everything that you ask for. Even your child’s crib is built by a stranger. It takes a lot of begging and pleading to convince Kurono to let you out to look for the perfect stuffed animal for your baby. He doesn’t get the high sentimental value you put on a plush toy but will accompany you as a reward for behaving so well the past few times he visited you. And by behaving well he means not letting your hormones make you an annoyance. In the end you find the perfect toy and don’t let anyone else but Kurono touch it, going as far as to sleep with it yourself so they won’t take it when you’re not looking.
Chisaki informed Kurono early on that he was putting himself in charge of the details involving your delivery. After all, you’re in his territory, so he should be able to oversee any and all happenings as he sees fit. He’ll be certain that there is a completely sterile area set up for you to give birth in. It’d be hard for you to have your baby in a proper hospital when Kurono is a known Villain and you’re so vocally unhappy with being essentially kidnapped. It saves everyone a headache if there are as little people involved as possible. That also means your obstetrician may not actually be trained in the area of delivering babies, but Kurono made certain they were at least formally trained in some form of medical care.
Kurono is present for your child’s birth, but just barely. He stands far away from you and silently watches you suffer through natural birth. He’s not particularly disgusted by it as Chisaki has stated that he is, but he’s not interested in ending up with a broken hand if you’re in too much pain. His main concern is that you live and once the doctor decides that you and your child are out of the woods he’ll approach. It’ll take some begging but Kurono will hold the child if you plead with him long enough. It’s not a very loving moment, just a cursory onceover to be sure the doctor didn’t overlook anything before handing them back to you. He may be their father, but he’ll be the first to admit that he isn’t daddy material. It’s why he’s put you in charge of their life because he has little to no interest in it.
