Something I love so much about the finale, and the final sequence in particular, is the sheer number of easter eggs packed in. The rewatch value is insane. Vee and Luz graduated together, King got to play catch, Dana Terrace signed Luz’s writing scholarship, Hunter doesn’t have eyebags, Raine has a palisman, Eda is wearing Raine’s earring, Luz is wearing Amity’s necklace, the Hexsquad had matching Flapjack tattoos, Alador and Darius might have a thing for each other- and that’s just what I know of right now. We’ll be finding little things for days and days to come and what a wonderful goodbye that is

I think it’s extremely funny that, not only was Hunter not afraid of Alador, he actively challenged Alador, for a very specific reason
We’ve already seen that Hunter cares a great deal about authority. It’s not just when he’s afraid of someone, like Belos, but as a show of respect, as seen with Willow being referred to as Captain in a friendly manner
So, who do we know that Hunter holds in high respect, that also doesnt have the nicest opinion of Alador or his work?
Conclusion: Darius has absolutely talked enough shit about Alador around Hunter for Hunter to decide this guy is absolutely zero threat

I like to think that to everyone else in the emperor's coven, Hunter and Darius' relationship makes no sense.
Like in their eyes Darius is the Worst coven head to get attached to. He's dismissive at best and downright rude at worst, he seems to only care about his appearance and being right, he's even scathingly petty at times.
He's one of those authority figures who expects respect and obedience but also he hates blind compliancy and prioritises free will, and altogether he is very difficult to make like you.
The only reason his coworkers like him is
1, he's attractive,
2, he gets the job done, and done well,
And 3, he hates everyone there equally and it's very entertaining to watch him verbally destroy that one coven head you don't like.
And everyone in the castle just sees the Golden Guard as that one kid with an annoying voice who got a position he doesn't deserve. The concept of these two tolerating eachother, much less basically be family, is absolutely wild.
Anyway this wasn't meant to be this long of a rant, but whatever I had fun.
