Um since a lot of you don't know, Damballah? Is an actual god from the Vodun Haiti pantheon.

And according to Haitian lore, he is kind, patient, and peaceful....

That's how fucking bad the Chucky movies and series have represented him.

To the people who have watched this show and practice Vodun, or have connections to it, I am so damn sorry.

Damballa is traditionally identified with or depicted as snakes. Damballa is said to be the Sky Father and the primordial creator of all life, or the first thing created by Gran Met By shedding the serpent skin, Damballa created all the waters on the earth. Sun shone in the water and created Ayda-Vedo (Rainbow) . Damballa fell in love with Rainbow for her beauty and made her his wife. As a serpent, he moves between land and water, generating life, and through the earth, uniting the land with the waters below.

You know I thought about something relating to @cult-of-dollbabies post about Damballah talking about how Damballah in the franchise is not a god of life but actually a demon disguised as damballah and what's funny is Damballah is usually described as a white serpent and in the bible, Satan is trying to tempt Eve into biting the forbidden fruit in a serpent form. So it's got me thinking Damballah might actually be Satan. Satan usually promises you everything before taking it all away from you. I don't think Damballah would allow Chucky to use his power to begin with because he knows he uses it for evil. Satan however, would allow evil shit to happen. And would laugh in his face when he fails too. In a way Chucky made a contract with the devil worshiping him and in exchange giving him the power of life. So in my theory at least Damballah is not actually Damballah but Satan himself. It would make sense considering his "god" gave up on him several times even when he was trying to succeed. Satan disguises himself in many different forms in order to trick people into doing his bidding for him. It even says in the bible that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

Saying that if one claims themselves to be a server of a righteous god but do dispicable actions they are under Satan's thumb as he too is a fraud. Because Chucky is a fraud his god is a fraud too.

So on Monday I got a reading with my friend who is also a voodoo priestess. I got visited by several spirits leading up to and on the day of the reading.

The first was a snake being who I am pretty sure was Damballa because I had watched a video from Religionforbreakfast on YT and I think I may have channeled a snake being for half-a-second. I can see entities sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night and I saw a snake being, but it looked more feminine. He then proceeded to show up in the reading itself.

I also had probably one of the coolest dreams I've ever had on the day of the reading.

First, I saw 2-3 ravens flying around and one of them quite literally landed in front of me on some kind of black-looking branches and I swear to god, this raven said to me WORD-FOR-WORD: "Hi, I'm a servant of Odin and I--"

I promptly forced myself to wake up. Odin has been trying to contact me over the last few months and this one was DIRECT (was it thought or memory?). While the raven was introducing itself, I saw a face start to reveal itself but I forced myself to wake up before he could finish.

Second, I saw Hermes for half-a-second. I saw his winged helmet before he promptly sped off, as if I wasn't supposed to see him quite yet?

Third, I saw Hephaestus. It was also short, but I got the distinct feeling he wanted me to at least see him. He was next to his forge, holding his hammer in hand. He was shirtless with bronze-brown skin and dark hair. He looked at me, but... not yet.

Fourth, Persephone. I didn't see her, but I did see a book in front of me. I want to write a book about Persephone's story. This book was flipped open and then closed, with the cover being that of this anthology that I saw coming out in September... or very similar to it. The magic on the cover glittered, almost as if I was getting the seal of approval from Persephone. I think she might be very excited lmao

Books is a common things I see with her in my dreams. I worked with her for a little bit in 2017 (it did not go over well) and I had a dream of a big old tome closing with the name "Persephone" on it, as if to tell me that my time with Persephone ended. But this dream I described above happened like three days.

Then after the reading, I continued to speak to my friend and she mentioned Merlin off-the-cuff, but that might not mean anything.

Either way, I'M SUPER STOKED.

Btw my headcanon/theory about chucky worshipping an evil entity disguised as Damballa is actually true bc I swear on my mother I found a deleted bit from the script to childsplay3 where Charles summons "Damballa" and it straight up describes a demon with multiple tendril arms and a voice that can't be heard but felt like lightning strikes and its drooling and shit
