DAD STATZ - Heights

Aka the series no one asked for at all!

I’ve been listening to this podcast for a really long time (on like my 60th relisten), and I love everything about it! I wanted to

So the actual physical descriptions of the dads and teens can get..a little vague, which is great! Because that leaves space for a lot of fan interpretation! However, I thought it might be fun to try and gather a master source for actual stats and “prove” them in canon. This is all just for fun and not trying to ruin anybodies headcanons or anything! I love seeing different versions of the dads!

Ron is the easiest (and shortest).

The first mention we get for his height is from Episode 3: The Lord of Chaos. Beth says this “Um, I’m maybe 5’ 4” and 120-ish pounds.” This height stays constant for the rest of the pod, there isn’t any other height ever listed for Ron Stampler! Which makes Beth my favorite for this part!! Go Beth!!

As for the rest of the dads.. Well.

Darryl isn’t too difficult, we get a few different mentions of his height throughout the show.

In Episode 25: Mummy Issues we get this line when they are trying to decide how tall of a body they need for the ride:

“All right, Darryl's six. So we’ll say,”

Interestingly he gets taller in Season 2! In episodes 23 and 24 (Alright and Spider-boyz: homecoming) we get two mentions of Darryl being 6’3:

“So he's like 6'3 now and he is like 140, fucking built—”

“And I gain… two— I gain one inch! I go from 6'2 to 6'3.”

With anything improvised I try to stick to the most recent information or the information that is repeated the most. Given that the sn 2 just came out, we’ll stick with Darryl at 6’3!

Now, onto the less than forthcoming dads. Henry and Glenn get a couple of mentions of their height throughout the show, nothing I could find where their characters actually mention their heights though. Going strictly off of my own character design brain, it makes sense to have them serve as the middle ground between our two extremes (Darryl and Ron), so I want to put them around 5’8-5’10. Canon mentions do seem to support this as well!

In episode 25: Mummy Issues this is said:

“Henry's probably like, 5’8”.”

“Glenn's probably like a good average 5’8”.”

So they are both around 5’8! I considered just bumping one of them up to 5’9 for some difference, but it’s kind of silly if they are the exact same height!

EDIT: in episode 62: Sonscreen, Henry shrinks to 2'11, which is described as half of his height, so he is 5'10.

Last but not least We have Jodi Foster. Jodi wins worst dad for this week because he has ZERO canon mentions of his height! In Episode 49: Contact, we get this brief description of him

“And next to him is a pretty handsome, pretty beefy guy who is laughing uproariously at a joke that he has seemingly just told to the young boy.”

And thats fucking it, we learn later he has a tummy, but nothing on how tall he is.

Personally I think he is just a little taller than Glenn, mostly because it’s funny. I know a lot of people want him and Glenn to be the same height, but given that Henry and Glenn are already the same, it felt like too many 5’8 bitches. Given that Athony made them officially brothers with Episode 23 (rip closefoster shippers, if you existed?) it would make sense that they would be closer in physical appearance, but not exactly the same (they aren’t twins im pretty sure).

And that concludes dad statz! I have no idea why I spent like three hours on this at all

Double life except instead of just the sharing of pain and lives they also share a child together

Exactly what the title says

Like, one month after the gang was all dropped into Double Life, they all got a notif about seven new entities spawning in. When checking spawn, then gang finds six multicolored baskets all containing a child, an egg, and a letter. The letter is from The Watchers or smt, essentially saying “Sup, here’s some kids for y’all, lol take care”. Panic ensues

Also all the names are very arbitrary apart from one being chosen for a dumb pun

Liana no last name given

Professional Scammer and pathological liar, Liana is the fledgling that hatched from the egg belonging to Scar and Grian

She’s a manipulator at heart, a con artist through and through, tho she hides it behind sickeningly sweet words, large puppy eyes and bright colors

Has great relationships with both of her dads, even though their parenting styles are very different

Grian is a total helicopter parent, Liana was barely allowed to leave the base as a kid in fear of her getting hurt

Scar does not give a shit, she could be telling him that she’s off to summon a wither and he’d just ask her to be home for dinner

She inherited the “Looks like a cinnamon roll but can actually kill you” vibe from Grian which she uses fully to her advantage

Scarlet Macaw hybrid, though her wings are too small for her to actually use them to fly, but they do help her glide

Dressed in strikingly bright colored suits just to throw people off, and smokes a pipe for pure aesthetic

Can’t build for shit, she’s a shame to the family

Dating Jassy

Wes Double-SV

Local stressed out mom friend, Wes is the baby from the yellow basket belonging to Impulse and BDubs

He’s an overachiever, always feeling a need to be perfect and do everything right

Suffers from a lot of OCD and anxiety

His relationship with his dads are a bit rocky, especially with BDubs

Both Impulse and BDubs are a bit like those Beauty Pageant moms, always feeling a need to prove that their child is the best. This is partly the reason for Wes’ disorders. Impulse can be a bit more chill than his hubby however

He does love his dads though

A thing that does add to his stress level however is the fact that all his friends are fucking maniacs and he’s the only voice of reason they have

Part imp like his father, his horns are his pride and joy

The tallest of the squad, usually carry the others if they get tired

Has a bit of the clock obsession, he’s got both a pocket watch and a rolex just because

Dating Jekiv

Gertrude Statz-Diggity Dawg

Chillest person to have ever walked this earth, Gertrude is the pup from the blue basket belonging to Ren and BigB

She’s a Redstoner, a damn good one at that too, and isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty

Does not give af about anything, just here to vibe

Her relationship with Ren is very casual, they’re more like dude bros than father and daughter

BigB is the more parental of the two, he’s the one who baked her cookies when she felt sad and told her stories when she couldn’t sleep

Dog hybrid and part werewolf, once every month she becomes ‘Weretrude’ (That was the dumb pun)

A big gal, second tallest of the gang, standing at six five, and ripped af, wears tank tops to show off her muscles

Wears shades so much that the light actually hurts her eyes at this point

Still got a lot of dog instincts to deal with, so don’t go throwing any sticks around her because she will just up and chase them before anyone knows what’s actually going on

Dating Novo

Jonathan ‘Johnny’ Tek

The server’s dashing charmer boy, Johnny is the country boy that was found in the red basket belonging to Jimmy and Tango

A true boy of the farm, this lad gets up every day at five am to do his chores, whistling a country tune as he does so

He takes more after Tango in terms of looks, but Jimmy when it comes to personality. He has his father’s blazing temper though

He’s the apple of his parents eye, an absolute breeze to handle as a kid which helped a lot because they’re both disasters

Talks with a very, very, thick southern accent that no one knows where it comes from, since no one else on the server has it

He plays the banjo, because of course he does

Demon hybrid, tries to hide his more demonic features like the horns and tail as to not scare the animals

Secretly kind of a monster fucker

Aromantic, so not dating anyone

Jassy Smallishbeans

Anime ninja extraordinaire, Jassy is the girl that was found in the gray basket belonging to Etho and Joel

Tries her dang hardest to have a cool and intimidating presence like Etho, but she’s a bit too much of a goofball to be able to

The biggest fucking fan of puns, will go to serious lengths to tell a bad and witty joke

Idolizes Etho, he’s the coolest fucking person in her eyes and she wants to be just like him

He’s very protective and constantly worries about his daughter, even if he tries to act like he’s not

Joel is a bit of an awkward parent, he tries his best with her but he’s not cut out for parenting

Jassy is genuinely a very good fighter, stealthy enough to sneak past skulk sensors with no issue, and a master marksman. She just has a problem keeping a straight face sometimes

Has a few anime attributes, such as the unnatural white and ridiculously styled hair, a very strange way of eating*, and the swirly eyes whenever she gets knocked out

Lean mean speedy machine

Has to wear a mask covering her mouth to hide the goofy smile she gets constantly

Dating Liana

(*That thing Anime girls do when they take the smallest fucking bite out of something and then immediately like, orgasms or something it’s so weird, look it up if you don’t know what I’m talking about)

Jekiv Inthelittlewood

The Half dead sass master, Jekiv is the zombie child that was found in the green basket belonging to Cleo and Martyn

Is very monotone without really meaning to, but yeah this boy will roast the shit out of you

He was mostly raised by Cleo, since Martyn wasn’t too keen on having a child. He gets along great with his mom, but his relationship with his dad is pretty much non existent

Martyn tried to reforge it when Jekiv became a teenager, but the damage was already done and the daddy issues had settled in

Absolutely fucking adores frogs, they’re his buddies and his pockets are filled with them

Kind of hates his sorta Step-Brother Novo

He is a zombie hybrid, which means that he can’t sleep, his skin is rotting away, he limps when he walks, and he’s sensitive to sunlight

Wears a light pink cloak to cover up his skin. Is also always dressed in pastel to counter his kind of horrory and gory look

Dating Wes

Novo Major-Moon

Unhinged freakster of the server, Novo is the half elf in from purple basket belonging to Scott and Pearl

Superstitious as all hell, wears a four clover necklace around his neck, a rabbit foot around his ankle and had his pockets filled with acorns

He thinks his mom is really cool and awesome, and even if Scott had the majority of the custody this bitch still turned out insane

He’s got them crazy eyes, a slight twitch to his movement and absolutely zero filter for his mouth, spouting out every random thought he could think of

He’s absolutely tiny, standing at barely five feet, with zero muscle, which makes him the ultimate twink

His makeup look consists of heavy eyeliner and then a spray bottle to the face, giving him the running mascara look. He knows he’s unhinged and he commits to the aesthetic

His dad thinks he should calm down a little and such, but he does support his son in his weird makeup and his beliefs

Dating Gertrude

Was this an excuse for me to make a bunch of fankids? Yes. Am I ashamed? Not in the slightest, no

Also if ur wondering Wtf kinda names these are, I was just sitting with a document typing random shit in until I found something that fit. Sometimes I got something nice, like Gertrude, and sometimes I just got a random bunch of letters, like Jekiv

I made some cute ship names for the couples as well, so we’ve got Stress and Sass, Tol and Smol, and Pirate and Parrot. Y’all can probs figure out who’s who.

But yeah I had fun doing this, character creation is one of my favorite things and I’d say it’s one of my biggest strengths as well, which is actually kind of sad

Also when I started this it was just the end of session three, and like now two couples have died so rip Team Ranchers and The Box duo, you’ll forever live in my heart

background: she had a super rough childhood. she was born in italy to the world's most dysfunctional couple ever. after a pretty messy divorce, sera's mom got full custody and they moved to michigan. a few years passed and everything was going smoothly until sera's dad reached out begging for forgiveness. her mom made the mistake of accepting his apology and they decided to try again which was very much for the worse. her father moved in with them again and things seemed okayish. but one day while on her way home from school, sera's parents got in a heated argument that ended in her witnessing her father murder her mother with a lamp. sera's dad sent her to live in a group home and he moved back to italy, partially because he didn't want to face the consequences but mostly because he wanted to "keep the family business running". in the home, sera met her best friend serena. they were completely inseparable to the point where they would routinely complain to school conselours when they weren't in classes together. in sophomore year, the pair met kenna (the only scene kid at the school) and candy (who ended up dating serena). over the summer after junior year, sera got a shitty part-time job selling brochures on the college campus that was a few streets over. it was there where she met christophe, who would end up becoming one of her closest friends. after graduation, sera, serena, candy, kenna, and christophe all moved in together (all courtesy of our favorite frenchman). :33

The first day of school can be a trying one — for parents, for teachers, for students. Lucie, a 5-year-old from Scotland, was certainly feeling the effects of that back to school transition, and there’s photographic evidence that managed to sums up perfectly everyone feels after that draining first day.

Lucie’s mom, Jillian Falconer, shared an image that showed what Lucie looked like heading off to school compared to how she looked at the end of the day, and the before and after images are absolutely hilarious. The first image shows a bright-eyed Lucie all ready for school. Her hair is perfectly combed, with her bow positioned just so. Her outfit is perfect, not a wrinkle in sight. And last, but certainly not least, her socks are pulled to just the right height.

By the end of the school day, however, it’s clear that a long day of playing and learning has taken its toll on little Lucie. Her hair is frazzled, her shirt is wrinkled and her tie is hanging to the side. Her socks and bow have fallen. But, not to worry, Lucie — we’ve all been there before.

The before and after photos were shared on a local news station’s Facebook page and have since gone viral, amassing thousands of shares and likes:

Falconer told the news outlet that she and Lucie’s dad “can’t believe [the photo] has gone viral.”

According to the mom, she was also shocked to see Lucie’s appearance at the end of the day.

“Lucie is just like any typical child,” she told Barrhead News. “When I went to pick her up from school and saw how she looked, I was mortified. I asked her what she had been doing at school and she said ‘Oh nothing, I just played with my friends.’”

Between her friends and her teachers, Lucie had obviously had a day chock full of exhausting fun.

“The wonders of primary two!” said mom to PopSugar. “The teachers are really good, they do a lot of active learning and things with them — so I take it it was down to that. She’d obviously had a really fun day.”

More Frazzled First-Day Fun

This isn’t the first time a photo from before and after a long day of school has gone viral. It turns out that mom Markeisha Simien can relate. She had her daughter’s hair done in a special style for the first day of kindergarten but, unfortunately, the new ‘do didn’t last long.

“I had my daughter’s hair done Sunday evening for school that week,” the girl’s mother, Simien told Yahoo Beauty. “When she got out of school Monday evening, her hair was tore up. The style didn’t even last 24 hours.”

Though the Instagram post is dated recently, the pics of Sofia posted by mom Ashley Ranow are apparently from the first day of preschool two years ago. We can’t help wondering what the heck happened to that adorable pink bow she had on the top of her head!

The Second Day Of School

What about that all-important second day? After your kids have some idea of what’s in store for them for the rest of the year? There are definitely some funny pictures out there representing that feeling, too.

If I had to choose a cuisine to eat for the rest of my life, it would be Mexican without a second thought. Recently, Taco Bell was voted the best Mexican restaurant in the country — and people online have a lot to say about it. The Harris Poll EquiTrend Study surveyed 77,031 U.S. consumers who were at least 15 years old about their favorite restaurants based on quality, familiarity and future considerations. This year, Taco Bell beat out restaurants such as Chipotle and Moe’s Southwest Grill to win “Brand of the Year” for the Mexican restaurant category. The director of the survey, Amir Kanpurwala, wasn’t surprised about the results. “Taco Bell’s marketing is ubiquitous so it wasn’t surprising to me that they came out on top this year. It’s not so much that Moe’s or Chipotle are falling off the map. Taco Bell has just been a stronger brand as of late, as demonstrated by the strong familiarity and consideration marks,” Kanpurwala said in a press release.

By the looks of it, their marketing tactics paid off. do the kids have middle names

Liana is the only one with a confirmed one for now, but yeah I can pull some names out of my ass

So Liana’s full name is Liana Sharina Ace Xelqua Sage Aurelia Francesca Octavia Jellie Monroe, which, fun fact, every name apart from Xelqua and Jellie were her potential name ideas. Later on in life she shortens her name to Liana Xelqua Jellie Riffs.

Gertrude’s middle name is Praline, derived from Pecan Praline which is one of my favorite type of cookies, and also a very fancy sounding name which I think she would like. Gertrude Praline Statz-Diggity Dawg.

Jekiv’s middle name is Joe.

Novo has two separate middle names, and with that I mean his dad gave him one and his mom gave him one, and neither could agree. So he’s either Novo Stellar Major-Moon, or Novo Cerulean Major-Moon.

Johnny is named after Norman. Johnathan Norman Tek.

Jassy is just straight up named after Joel and Etho. So Jassy Slab Smallishbeans. She’s not a fan of the uncreativeness going on there.

Wes is also named after Etho, though neither he nor Etho knows about this. To his knowledge he has no middle name, but his full name is Wes Ethoslab Double-SV

Even though Enrique Iglesias noted that he had a “tough audience,” he was determined to get a giggle out of his 8-month-old twins — and there’s an Instagram video to prove it. The singer and his tennis champ partner Anna Kournikova welcomed twins, reportedly named Lucy and Nicholas, in December 2017. Since then, fans have relished the rare behind-the-scenes moments the private couple has shared with their family at home. Now that Iglesias has posted a video of himself gobbling like a turkey to keep his kids laughing, he’s reached peak dad. In the video, you can see the singer running back and forth in front of his children while saying “gobble, gobble, gobble.” As soon as he pauses, their laughter stops. So, he kept at it for quite some time. The things we do to keep our children happy, you know? Oddly enough, you’ll probably find yourself laughing just as hard as these babies when you watch the sweet moment on Instagram: There’s no shame in his fatherhood game, and he’s been open about how truly special becoming a dad has been. He gushed about his newborns while performing in Budapest. “I became a father about 12 weeks ago, and I can absolutely tell you, two things: Love my babies! I love them so much” he said, adding, “Actually, three things: I love my girl, and I super f—ing love you guys for being here tonight!” He’s not the only parent prepared to go above and beyond to get a smile from little Lucy and Nicholas, as their mom has also given a glimpse of her silly side on Instagram, too. This Army Dad Surprised His Son By Showing Up At His High School Graduation

Family & Parenting This sweet moment will bring you to tears! Augusta Statz 2018-06-18 Damon Solomon is a father to six children, but he’s also in the Army and on his fifth deployment. It can be tricky for families to navigate life when one parent is so far away, especially especially when it comes to special occasions. So when Solomon’s eldest son, Tyler, was set to graduate from high school, the family was expecting more of the same. They assumed they’d have to celebrate the big day without their father present. But Solomon had a surprise up his sleeve. As they called his son’s name — and as he walked across the Marshfield High School football field — his dad was there to witness it. And it proved to be a huge surprise for Tyler. Once Tyler accepted his diploma, the principal stopped him and made him stay on stage for just a minute more as the announcer said: “Please join us in recognizing U.S. Army Sgt. Damon Solomon, who was granted special leave this weekend from his fifth deployment in Kosovo to celebrate Tyler’s graduation.” And then Tyler saw his dad head across the field to meet him. The sweet moment was caught on video: Marshfield High School graduate Tyler Solomon is stunned as he receives his diploma and is reunited with his father, who made a surprise return trip from a year-long deployment overseas. And you could definitely tell his appearance was a surprise for the son. “I said to him, ‘Do you honestly think that I was going to miss this? There was no way I was going to miss this,'” Tyler’s father told ABC News. Before returning to watch his son graduate from high school, the elder Solomon had been serving as a helicopter crew chief in Kosovo and had been away from his family for his fifth tour since January. According to CBS News, he only told his mom and girlfriend that he’d be coming home. So naturally, his other five children we shocked to see their dad, too. “Their reactions were emotional. They’re a lot older now, so the pain is authentic. When they were younger, they didn’t understand the concept of time, but they do now,” their dad told CBS News. Despite the fact that deployed soldiers aren’t allowed much time off, this is just one example of a time a dad has made it home for an incredibly special moment. Army Sergeant Francois Clerfe once took a total of 10 flights to make it back from Kuwait just in time for the birth of his daughter: It just goes to show — a father’s love knows no bounds. They spend their time together playing in parks, exploring their Florida town and reading together. While he wasn’t interested in the world of “Harry Potter” at first, he admits he was wrong for thinking he was “too cool” for the books. In fact, reading these tales of wizardry with his daughter has become one of his favorite pastimes.

He continued, “We switch off chapter by chapter reading them out loud to each other while the other reads along in their own copy of the book. This not only allows her to get more used to reading aloud in front of someone, but it gets me directly involved in something she loves, and it gives me the chance to be extra dramatic when I read my chapters and bring myself into the characters in the book, which has proven to be a ton of fun.” He happened to share this essay with J.K. The image he posted showed him, on bended knee, feeding Hashian as she breastfed their youngest daughter, Tiana Gia Johnson. With his help, both mama and baby were able to eat, and the moment couldn’t be a better depiction of teamwork: “I’ll handle this business,” Johnson wrote on Instagram. “Mama @laurenhashianofficial has her hands full nursing/feeding Baby Tia, so I’m feedin’ mama her dinner. Augusta Statz 2018-06-12 Once Mikhail and Arrion McLean found out they were expecting their first child, they knew it was time to share the news with friends and family. But they weren’t going to do it the traditional way. Oh no. They had a surprise up their sleeves. The couple created a rap parody of the song “God’s Plan” by Drake — changing the lyrics to be centered around the fact that they were having a baby — in order to spread the happy news to friends and family. They said it took them an hour to come up with the lyrics, and they had a whole lot of fun in the process. “We googled some fun ideas and added our personal creative twist,” said Arrion. As for the filming of the video, Mikhail, the dad-to-be, said it took two weeks, but was equally as enjoyable. “We both really enjoyed doing it. It was a lot of fun and laughed a lot,” he said.
