GQ 10 things Y/n Wolff can’t live without

“Hi GQ, I am Y/n Wolff and here are my essentials.” The young woman opens her arms looking at the objects displayed on the table, before looking up and smiling to the camera.

# Sugar

“My trainer may not agree. My coaches may not agree. My performance coach may not agree. My parents definitely don’t agree.” She points out, “But I need sugar.” The young woman brings to the centre of the table a small pile of sweets, a tall cup of caffeinated drink and a can of Red Bull, “I live of sugar and… sugary things…”

“My day starts with this lovely peppermint iced mocha sweetened with vanilla sugar… a ton of vanilla sugar.” Y/n laughs taking a sip of her drink “I am weirdly obsessed with mint and chocolate combinations…” She comments looking at the camera, “I drink perhaps two or three of those per day,” The young woman then places her hand over the top of the Red Bull can, most people who follow her already know that she is an athlete sponsored by Red Bull, “sugar-free Red Bull, which ironically is sweeter than the regular one.” She puts her hand on the pile of chocolates, “Milk-chocolate, I am not going to lie and say that I eat the healthy stuff, I don’t, I have the taste buds of a child,” the tennis player smiles mischievously at the camera, “right now I am really into this Finnish chocolate, Geisha and the blue Fazer, daddy always keep those in his offices for me.” She wrinkles her nose a little, giving the camera a lovely—childish—smile.

“Aero Mint bar, Chocolate Orange, Maltesers, Bounty, Kinder, truffles…I'm honestly starting to wonder how we managed to get through customs.” She laughs looking at her entourage behind the cameras. “This is like… a fraction of what I usually travel with, this is more like what I have in my bag for the day.”

#Photos

Y/n played a little with a golden square object in her hand.

“I travel a lot, I am on the road from January to November playing at tournaments around the world, so I can’t always be surrounded or in touch with the people that I love,” she says in a slightly more serious tone, taking the golden case in her hands and pressing the button to open, showing pile of polaroid photos, “those are mini Polaroids, so I can bring them with me wherever I go, I keep them inside this vintage cigarette case that belonged to my maternal grandmother, she was a absolute rockstar and I miss her very much.” The camera takes a close-up on the golden case with rope motif and small colourful stones. “As I don’t smoke, I had to find another use for it.”

The first photo she shows is five adults together, smiling around a table, in what appears to be a ski resort.

“I have a very patchwork family, and somehow the adults in my life made it work…which I am very grateful for, not everyone is lucky to have so many amazing parents…so here I have my mum and my two other mothers, Stephanie and Susie, papa and my other father, Phillippe,” the second photo is her with a boy not much younger than her, two teenage girls and a small child in front of a Christmas tree, “my siblings, I have four, I am the eldest whatever way you go, huge flex,” the photo is followed by one of a pyjama party with several girls in matching pyjamas, and another of the tennis player with a blonde in front of the Eiffel Tower, “My gurls! This is my best friend, she is also my PA… so amazing to have someone I trust so much with me all the time…” a golden cocker spaniel with a crystal necklace, silk bows in its ears and a Gucci sweater appears on the screen, “this is Éclair Wolff, my emotional support dog aka my child, she actually goes with me mostly everywhere, but sometimes I leave her with my mum so she won’t be stressed by the long flights.”

She points to the next three photos, the first has the Mercedes drivers in Tommy Hilfinger, posing for the photo. “Lew and Georgie, the adopted older brothers I never asked for, but I love them.” The second photo has three other familiar faces making faces at the camera, “C2, my Ferrari boys, feat Pear, there is something wholesome about good looking men looking so silly, I love those guys and I love this picture, it is very on brand with them.” The tennis player smiles at the camera. “Sharls, Carlitos and Pear are three of the nicest guys I have ever met, it is truly a blessing be able to call them friends and having them in my life.”

McLaren driver Lando Norris, in his third or fourth season, apparently not even realizing he was having his photo taken, it's a spontaneous photo, the soft sunlight highlighting the driver's profile as he smiles.

“Because of karting, I’ve known Lando since I was a head taller than him, he was my first crush…he was so shy, so adorable, so babygirl coded.” Y/n blushed a little as she shows the photo.

“I think most of the current grid is in here…oh, look, it’s Lance! Friends from life, from tennis…” She quickly changes showing another photo. “I think I easily have about sixty photos here..."

#Camera

“I don’t have a specific camera I like more than the others, but as a rule, I prefer vintage cameras just for the beauty of the final result, I inherited a few, I bought a few, I usually develop the photos when I'm at home for longer periods of time, edit the videos, digitalize a few…” She points to the cameras in front of her, a Bolex, a Digital Bolex, a very iconic Rolleiflex and a Super 8, “It is a very nostalgic experience to just go through a year worth of memories…” She says resting her face in her hand, “I have a hundred boxes with pictures and film rolls.”

“I love going through old pictures with my mom and Cass, my younger sister, from when we were babies, my parents in the 90’s, my mom when she was young, the wonderful life my grandparents lived, and is such a lovely moment to share with my mom.” Y/n has a soft smile on her lips. “One day, when I have my own kids, I want to have those moments with them, and not just scrolling through a phone or an iPad.”

#Journals

“I keep journals since I was a child, I get a new one every year,” She holds up the leather hardcover notebook, a deep indigo blue, a little worn around the edges, “after I turned thirteen years old, I started to get it in this specific shade of blue, with my initials in gold,” The girl opens the journal, leafing through it briefly, “I am never going to write an auto-biography, it’s kind of a little bit too egocentric to my taste,” She knocks it closed, but keeps it up, looking at the camera as she speaks , “but if someone ever write about me, fifty years from now… the facts will be straight, at least from my point of view… but even if no one ever writes about me… when I am old and grey and memory starts to fail me, I will be able to come back to the thoughts of twenty years old me…”

There is a moment of silence.

“That was kind of dark.” Y/n laughs to break the tension.

#Art Supplies

“I love to draw and paint, it eases the anxieties of life,” The tennis player shows the large sketchbook, a small aluminium case with the watercolours, and the rolling leather case with pencils and brushes, “I always bring a watercolour travel kit with my sketchbook wherever I go.”

She displays for the internet some of the landscapes she painted during her travels around the world.

#Hoodies

“I like to be comfortable after a match,” she spreads her arms across the perfectly folded hoodies on the table, “and nothing is more comfortable than a hoodie, feels a little bit like home.”

“I have my collection of hoodies with Adidas, they always provide me with new cool colours to try out and see if I want to add to the next collection,” Y/n opens sage green hoodie, running her hand over her initials and the Adidas logo. “Enchanté by Dani Ric, I have a bunch of those, Daniel is always kind enough to drop them at my house in Monaco, VIP treatment baby.” She points to the white hoodie. “Quadrant hoodies, Lando’s merch, ridiculously comfy, I would really like them in pastel colours or dusty rose… just putting out to the universe…” Y/n smiles and winks at the camera. “Valtteri, MV1… those all came with me for the US Open.”

#Skincare

“This is part of my daily routine.” The girl opens the toiletry bag, taking out the products inside, “I am always in different countries and different hotel rooms, so is nice to have this little sense of routine.”

She lines the pearlescent bottles with opaque round lids on top of the table.

“I launched Muse when I was seventeen years old, it is my skincare brand, and it is very me. I wanted it to be un-complicated and complete,” The young woman explains passionately looking at the camera, “skin is the body’s largest organ, and it is not only your face.” It affects the hair on your face, tucking it behind your ear before going back to the product bottles. “The line goes from body wash to suncream to night-time routine.”

#Travel Pillow

“If I mess up my neck and shoulder, I am f***ed, my match is over and possibly the tournament.” She holds up a medium-sized pillow to the camera, the pillowcase light pink silk with red buttonholes around the edges and her initials in the corner. “So, this baby goes with me everywhere, it is a memory foam pillow with a silk pillowcase. Best sleep, best hair.”

#Sport Gear

“I generalized here, sport gear, I travel heavy, always,” she points to the array of equipment on the table, “this is my racket, I go to each tournament with around ten of those, just in case I wreak one on the ground,” Y/n passes her hand over the racket, “those are custom Yonex Ezone 98, they made it in Mountbatten pink with some cool pattern and my initials,” she smiles as she pulls the helmet close to her chest, “my helmet, also custom Mountbatten pink, with my initials in rose, I love to try new karting tracks, most people don’t know I used to race karts when I was younger, won a couple of trophies, went as far as F3 before I choose to go pro with tennis, car racing is a huge thing in my family…my dad used to race, my stepmom was a driver, my little brother probably going to be a F1 driver,” she recounts with a smile, “I joked once with my dad that we are at a window that if I have a kid in the next year or two, in twenty years we can have a Wolff’s drivers line-up for Mercedes.” The young woman smirks to the camera. “My dad almost passed out, and now I am not allowed to date until I am thirty.”

#Headphones

“Those are custom made for me, again, they are Mountbatten pink and rose with my logo, super comfortable on the ears, I usually have problems with headphones due to the piercings and earrings, but these didn't give me any problems, they fit well, and I can spend the whole day wearing them." She takes the gadget out of the case, showing the details. “It's not wireless, because I always forget to charge it, so it has a wire, they made this lovely, thick cord that is durable and super resistant,” Y/n wraps the rope around her fingers, “it is noise cancelling and it is always with me before every match as an essential part of my pre-match rituals.”

“The right music kind of puts you in the right mood, I usually go with Eminem in 80% of my matches, I feel like it unleashes my inner fighter, these are matches where I'm not really worried about my opponent, it is just raw and a little bit thoughtless, I just play,” she comments, “when I know that my opponent is going to be hard on the mind games, which is not an uncommon move in tennis, I tend to listen to calmer and more melancholic music, piano, it keeps me in a more peaceful zone, I don’t get pumped up and full of adrenaline, my game tends to be far more calculated…”

clothes in grumpus society would be pretty hard to get for two main reasons:

grumpuses have wildly different proportions from eachother which makes it basically impossible to mass produce clothes, that means the only way to get well-fitting clothes is to go to a tailor or seamstress

clothes are completely optional and usually unnecessary when you have fur, which adds to the first point that mass producing clothes would not be profitable

this means that when a character wears clothes thats a big deal and it could say alot about them

now that I've explained my thought process, here are my headcanons about every character that wears clothes (not counting hats or other accessories):

Wambus: the vest helps block direct sunlight when working outside for long periods of time, he got it custom made before the expedition.

Gramble: he wears a sweater because he has patchy fur from stress, and his pets getting eaten probably didn't help, he knit the sweater himself.

Wiggle: in the credits artwork she is wearing what looks like a fur coat, she probably has more clothes like this because she's a celebrity, idk I don't have much to say here.

Triffany: same as Wambus, the jacket protects from the sun and has lots of pockets to hold tools or shiny things, she got it custom made.

Chandlo: the tank top is the only item of clothing he has and the only reason he wears it is because he thought it wold be unprofessional to be undressed, he got it when he used to play for a baskesball team.

Snorpy: in the credits artwork he is wearing a tank top and shorts, this is important because he is the only character that wears a full set of clothes in the whole game. he naturally has thin fur (in the dlc he talks about putting on sunscreen) and he has been losing fur from stress about the Grumpinati, he got the clothes custom made after returning from snaktooth. as for the apron, it is one of the things that can be mass produced because the only thing that needs adjusting is the straps.

Shelda: in the credits artwork she is wearing a long sleeve sweater, she is old, skinny and is probably loosing fur so it's not a surprise that she gets cold easily, she got the sweater as a gift from a family relative, she also had it with her at snaktooth but never wore it because she spent most of her time in the desert.

Floofty: in the credits artwork they are wearing a lab coat, the only thing confusing about that is why they didn't wear lab coat at snaktooth, it is important protection when doing experiments and it totally makes sense to get one custom made. my reasoning is that floofty isn't really the "safety first" kind of person and they never got any serious injuries from an experiment gone wrong so they just didn't bother, but when they became a teacher/professor they started wearing a lab coat to set an example for students who are more likely to mess up and get hurt.

eggabell and lizbert are wearing matching shirts in one of the photos in their hut, they got them for their anniversary. the shirts don't have a purpose egg and liz are just cheesy like that

SPOILERS FOR DLC UNDER CUT

alegander wears a sweater in the image we see of him. we dont know much about him so I don't have many thoughts

maybe the triplicate space is cold, maybe he wanted to look professional, maybe that's an old photo and he doesn't wear that sweater anymore.

same thing for how he got it, maybe he has someone close to him who made it for him, maybe he stole it from gramble, maybe he just cares alot about how he looks so he had lots of clothes unrelated to the snakolytes

Filbo, beffica, cromdo and clumby don't wear clothes

an extra headcanon is that when grumpuses get wet they feel naked because their fur sticks to their body. this explains why snorpy got clothes for working out, but this could also be used an excuse for why swimming clothes would exist for grumpuses

Dyo and Melynie were made using multiple midjourney generations, photo-manipulation, and digital painting.

Normally, when I post something of this complexity, I don't give full details because its just a massive volume of information almost no one will care about. But I figure what the heck. Might as well show it off once.

MJ can do theropods pretty easily (assuming you're not picky, don't want feathers, and it doesn't need a tail), almost any other kind of dino is going to be a collage process. Ankylosaurs are a major blind spot.

So here's just some of the prompts I used to make bits and pieces of this composition.

To get the image I wanted, it had to be built in chunks, assembled and then painted over and photobashed to blend the pieces.

Getting thyrene clothing to make sense requires some sci-fi hand waving. the smart-fabric cinches around the gap between the back armor plates and the main torso. The "hood" is a flap that buttons on one side and is open in the back. It's a cold weather outfit.

*Midjourney's dataset leans to extreme thinness, so 'chubby' or 'heavyset' will typically produce a normal looking thin-to average person, while "zaftig" or "plump" are required actual heavyset builds.

Let me try and think of something I've not seen before but 100% fervently believe to be true!!! ok ok---

Dream is def. a clotheshorse. Look at that battle skirt, god. Hob is not, 'least not in modern days. Headcanon: after they get together Dream is absolutely a sniffy little cunt about Hob's clothes. They're so banal. We've had Dream being cozy and fuckable in Hob's stolen sweaters and footie shirts. Let's have Hob being taken to a bespoke tailor's shop that may or may not exist in the Waking world and/or the mortal plane, strictly speaking. Dream is the owner and operator, and Hob the only customer. Hob doesn't just put up with it in some sweet, Hobbishly indulging way - he fucking loves it. He's a hedonist. Loves the feeling of expensive fabrics against his skin, the line of tailored clothes transforming his unchanging body, loves Dream's proprietary little smirk at dressing Hob. Loves the way Dream looks at him all the time now, knowing and pleased and heated. He's always loved good clothes. But these are great clothes. It gets so out of control that Hob has to tell his colleagues Dream is a tailor, because there's no way he'd be able to afford this otherwise. If he didn't have, you know. Boyfriend privileges. "You are a tailor though, sort of," says Hob, a bit soused after a faculty party, dressed like liquid sex in a gunmetal grey suit, "S'just, the fabric of the collective unconsciousness and all the words we've ever written." Dream is starting to smile when Hob adds, "Also, you brought this upon yourself." 'This' being Dream, reluctantly agreeing to produce a bespoke prom dress for department chair's daughter. Headcanon: due to his own hubris Dream accidentally spends the rest of that decade of Hob's 'life' moonlighting (daylighting?) as a reclusive fashion designer with a reputation for utter brilliance and eccentricity, who takes all his commissions exclusively by referral and vets clients, bizarrely, through his (now tenured, imagine that) history professor husband.

Dream enjoys it rather more than he expected. It's a little like designing dreams - or, in a few memorable cases, nightmares - for humans to wear. He understands the stories and power of clothing. He is soothed to be asked, over and over, for such a trivial boon: something to wear that they've been dreaming of. He enjoys having work in the Waking.

Mostly, though, he likes to look at Hob Gadling, marvel and living story, wearing his clothing. Wearing him. Moving through the world in sleeve and collar of his making, and saying, to all who look and all who ask: I am his.

Well, I knew I could count on you for some quality fashion headcanons Gloam!!! Border Country sends its regards I guess!!!!

But honestly, wouldn't he though? Because if you think about it, every piece of clothing ever designed had to be visualised or daydreamed in some way by the mind of a designer, and if it goes through the Dreaming, it is Dream's by proxy. So yeah, every couture design, every Gucci runway, every weird ass Balenciaga ready to wear monstrocity and every Schiaparelli gown has Dream's designing hands involved somehow.

And I can also imagine Dream making all of Hob's clothes, including the softest t-shirts and sweatpants, the silkiest pyjamas, the most comfortable jeans that are never too tight and never too loose either. And when he can't be around, Dream makes sure the clothes hug Hob in just the right way, to remind Hob that he's there, in spirit, as humans like to say, and that he'll try to be around as soon as possible.

Can you imagine Hob having a bad day and Dream just......... manifesting the softest most gentle clothes around him to hold him in bed as he would until he can be there himself? Or whenever Hob finds a student crying, there's always a handkerchief in his pocket, and somehow whenever any of his students wipe their tears with them they just have the most restorative night of sleep ever?

Dream making a suit for Hob to defend yet another thesis, and the suit being so comfortable and making Hob feel so so so confident it's insane.

Aaaaah the many many love languages of Dream of The Endless and his husband Hob Gadling whose love language is just Dream

It's the Imperial Palace-Halloween-Party and Alpharius/Omegon have just arrived!

Nobody knows what their costumes are referencing (the ancient terran texts they are based on are very obscure), but that's exactly how they like it: Being their own meme suits them very well.

Fulgrim is pissed, because he wanted to do a cool couple's costume with Ferrus, but being the piece of slag the Lord of the tenth is, he went with a boring "Error 404 costume not found"-shirt. So Fulgrim latched onto Perturabo, who, of course, dressed up as daVinci. So now there's daVinci and the phoenician-Mona Lisa.

Russ read an ancient terran text, too, but mixed it up. He is dressed up as "Riding Hood the Killer of the forest" accompanied by his Lumberjack- and Granny-wolf. Both wolves ate their costumes within minutes. Bjorn flatly refused to dress up as sidekick "kid" and therefore had to stay outside.

Since Lorgar already looks like the Emperor, he dressed up as their father and now is patronizing everybody just like the original. He forced Kor Phaeron to wear a Malcador-costume, too. No one would have thought it, but they are actually hilarious and very amusing in their roles. Amusing enough that the real Malcador can only with difficulty stop the real Emperor from angrily throwing papier-mâché pumpkins at his seventeenth son.

Vulkan loves his Godzilla-costume, because this pre-unification terran god (it had to be a god, since there were so many little statues!) is so damn cute! And kind of a dragon!

Then he spots Mortarion as Mothra and tackles him in a hug, since they both chose that ancient myth, oh glory day!

Magnus decided on a stage magician-costume, but every time he asks one of his brothers to "think of a number, I'll tell you which one you thought of!" or "pick a card and put it back into the pile!", they just go "Bro, you're a Psyker, that's nothing special!".

Curze is sulking beneath the buffet-table, because all the comments he gets on his very authentic "toatally normal imperial writing clerk"-costume are "Serial killer! They look just like everybody else, don't they!".

There he's joined by Stormseer Targutai, who brought a big plate of everything down under the table with him. Jaghatai wanted to dress up as one of the most famous race horses in terran history, Nijinsky, and so he needed two more legs. Since Targutai is way too good-natured to refuse, he humoured his Khan - at least for about ten minutes. Then he wandered off, spotting the buffet table. Now the back-half of a horse is happily munching on fingerfood, sharing it with a sweater-vest-clad Night Haunter.

About an hour into the party, the two are getting more company, as Corvus appears under the table as well. He shares Curze's fate, since everybody is mistaking his thoughtfully build (yet horribly sewn) Rosa Luxemburg-costume for Mary Poppins. How can it be nobody is recognizing one of the most courageous revolutionaries terra ever produced? It can't be because Raven Guard suck at anything artsy-crafty. No.

The only one of the brothers wo bothered himself with reading about classic terran Halloween-customs is, of course, Guilliman. But unfortunately for him, the texts are very old and very fragmented, so all he could take away was "scary things, but make it slutty". His zombie-make-up and fishnet-stockings are still getting him quite a few admiring (it has to be meant admiring!) comments, though.

It's a little bit frustrating for Dorn, that he really did his best with a "very dangerous inwittian predatory cat-like monster"-costume, but all of his brothers just want to cuddle the incredibly adorable furry-thing that's sweating like hell next to any open window he can find.

Sanguinius has plastered himself with about a hundred goggly eyes of all sizes, because he wanted to look like an angel. Surprisingly it isn't working. But Magnus is squinting at him, muttering "You look like someone I know, but I can't remember for the life of me ...."

Horus employed three of the mournival for a clever group-costume (he thinks it's clever). They are impersonating one of the most famous para-military strike-teams of ancient Terra. Now the Warmaster is sporting a big grin and a cigar, while Abaddon is visibly seething, because he wanted to be "the pretty one", but instead has to wear about a ton of gold chains, while Aximand is constantly telling him, having to wear a blonde wig is not that funny, either. Loken and Tarik played rock-paper-scissors for the remaining spot, Gavriel lost (on purpose) and now Torgaddon is very happy with a baseball hat and the license to behave crazy (within limits).

Angron is running around naked, bodypainted very green, yelling at everybody "I'M SHREK, GOD OF ORK!!!! WAAAAHHHG!!". The palace serving staff is now hiding from him. He counts this as a win. He makes no effort to explain why he is naked.

The Lion is pondering joining team "under the table", since Vulkan has spotted his very authentic Saint George-costume and continues to pounce at him, happily exclaiming "I'm a dragon, fight me!".

Now I have written an incredibly long text, although I only had the idea of drawing Alpharius and Omegon as Spy vs Spy. But that was fun! The Imperial Halloween Party is sure to be a great success.

Also, it seems Horus' costume isn't that obvious. Well ... 😊

It's a very cute sweater and it fits Connie rather well, if you catch my meaning.😅 When she returns it, she makes an offhand comment on how everyone loved the sweater and gave her so many compliments. "Really? Huh. No one's ever said anything to me. But I'm glad you liked it."

The next time Bess wears it, she finds out why Connie got some many compliments: They do not wear the sweater the same way, at all. Connie certainly filled out the sweater better in certain areas that Bess just does not and cannot. In short, Connie looks like a model, Bess looks like a shlub (in her eyes). It's stupid, but Bess definitely feels bummed about it, especially since it is one of her favorite pieces. (It bums her even more when she gets mistaken for a long-haired guy from behind while out at the store while wearing it. At least that's what those teenagers claimed--suppose they could have just been trolling her because teens can just really suck.)

So, in light of this, Bess offers the sweater to Connie to keep. "Here. Take it and keep it."

"... But isn't this your favorite sweater?"

"Yeah. But at least you can actually make it look cute and don't look like a dude when you wear it." Bess can't help the bitterness in her voice, no matter how she tries.

BESSSS. ;; Connie takes the sweater, but the comments take her off guard. "'At least you can actually make it look cute' ... wait, what's going on? You look lovely in this sweater!"

She's genuinely clueless, because in her eyes, Bess DOES look lovely in the sweater! Then, she registers her comment about looking boyish, and it clicks.

The Taurus stubbornness truly shines in situations like this, haha. She ponders some options, then gets an idea.

A week or so later, Connie produces Bess and gift. A small little box with a ribbon.

It's the sweater, but it looks slightly different. It's barely noticeable, but there are sewn slots, almost but button loops, in the sides. There's also a custom-made sash to pair with it. The color matches the sweater perfectly, and there's some lovely embroidery along the seams.

When put through the loops and tied, it give it this fit-and-flare look; a silhouette Connie knows Bess likes, feels comfortable in, and looks AMAZING in.

"You can wear it with or without the sash," Connie says, "I didn't want to make any huge changes to it - it's your favorite. Just two small slits that aren't noticeable. The sash was what took the week. I think you looked amazing in the sweater before, but now, you have two different ways to wear it. I think the sash will highlight your figure beautifully."

If she hates it, the tailor can close the loops. "I-I hope it's okay."

She just wants her friend happy, and to help her soul sister see the beauty that Connie sees daily.

Why are people so scared of zombie apocalypses?

Now this is regarding slow zombies: the walking dead, Shaun of the dead, Dawn of the dead, night of the living dead. NOT FAST ZOMBIES: train to Busan, 28 [insert time] later.

You’re offering me a world with no rent, free real estate (once you remove the zombie tenants). If I want to own a fridge, I will find a home with solar power. (Even though my family farm has solar) WOW saving the earth already.

I will make friends and enemies, how exciting better than my life now. It’s like an enemies to lovers you know I would be petty but civil with the neighbouring group and chat them up while hiding out overnight for a hoard to pass.

The ability to not go to work in customer service and smiling “hey how are you?” “What can I get for you?” No abuse, no standing on my feet, no serving and NO management.

Money becomes obsolete and we will be clearing the lands of zombies, holding produce markets selling our goods. I can knit and trade sweaters and blankets for the winter hell yeah, I can chop wood for eggs, sell a bit of cow for potatoes, a whole cow for a rain water tank. (Though we have five huge water tanks already) I can sell the fruit and veggies I have for grains or soap.

I had a bad day, I can join the crowd control and let off some steam by slaying a few undead.

My family are mostly health care workers or solar electricians suddenly we are well sought after, their homes will be filled with food and warmth.

Old/new jobs will re/emerge blacksmithing of weapons, people will learn to ride horses. People in our town own horses and carriage’s. But carriage making a new job, archery and letters will be old school once more, no more internet, but books will be top tier entertainment.

Obviously there is the issue of turning but I feel as long as everyone has precautions in place and people respect the when they stop breathing shoot them in the head (don’t kill the living) rule then you are all good. Just isolate and monitor them until they pass and then stop them from reanimating.

I live in a small countryside town so this is all doable guns will only be an option for a short time as Australia even on farms has some guns but not many and ammo as well is restricted to a certain number so by a year guns will be very very limited for the average house hold.

Anyway sounds like the dream, all for it. Sign me up. One way ticket, Thank you. Take my money I won’t need it where I’m going.

have you ever bought something from deerdoll. com and can confirm the material is as described? were the clothes worth the price and satisfactory?

Yes, I bought this dress and this sweater. The products always matched their descriptions and the quality-price ration was satisfactory. I understand some might fear that it’s a scam, but I can promise it isn’t. Deerdoll sells internationally clothes that are designed and produced in China for the Chinese domestic market, and whose purchase would be otherwise too complicated/risky for foreign customers (i.e. shops like Taobao). If you do order something from them, I highly recommend paying attention to the sizes! Because the clothes are designed for the Chinese market, the sizes are quite smaller compared to the ones in Europe and in the US. I would suggest sizing up! You can also send them an email asking for help with the sizing, they are very accomodating. If you are looking for a higher size range, I suggest visiting Starlight Fair and Peiliee Shop, which sell very similar products to DeerDoll’s.

you and wanda are both convinced you spotted each other first. neither willing to back down or let the other person win.

wanda knows, for certain, she saw you first. how couldn’t she? the door bell jingles every time someone enters or exits. and she normally watches customers enter the bookstore. wanda knows she wasn’t occupied the day of your first visit. she remembers that day more than any other day.

she remembers you shyly stepping into the shop, behind two other girls. you’re much taller than both, but still managed to make yourself small and practically unnoticeable. but wanda has an eye for rare and special finds. she noticed you first, only every paying attention to your minute movements.

oh, wanda craved to corner you, away from your friends and make you hers, without any regard for your complaints or hesitations. she knew she had to have you. something about the way, you’d slightly tip your head after a book’s title peeked your interest. or how you managed to stay fully engaged in the conversations w/ your friends but only uttered a few words occasionally.

wanda remembers the brown, knitted sweater you wore and the ribbon dangling from your ponytail, tickling your neck. she remembers the weird jealousy she felt when you casually reached for a friend’s hand. or rested your head on the other’s shoulder, practically purring as she petted your hair. wanda wanted all of your affection and attention for herself. no one could or would treat you better than wanda.

you remember the whole day differently. mainly because you have more information than wanda. you’d walk pass the bookstore once before. you took an unusual shortcut and found yourself staring into the shop’s window, mesmerized by wanda’s energy. how she perfectly light up the room. her smile produced one of your own. you were enchanted.

your friends came back for the weekend from the city. they let you pick any activity and you immediately remembered your beautiful, book clerk. never having the courage to visit by yourself, the opportunity might never come again.

no one questioned how shy and quiet you were once arriving. you kept close to them, scared you’d find yourself aimlessly searching for wanda, and begging her for one moment of her time. but that didn’t stop you from stealing looks at her. or pouting when another customer occupied her time.

you desperately tried to find the perfect book to buy, so she’d find you intriguing and worthy of a small conversation. it’s all you wanted. a spare moment of her time. a little bit of her undivided attention. who knew you’d still be seeking it out?

you and wanda both swore, you fell in love, the second you heard the other person’s voice. meekly approaching the cash register, you slide your book towards her. barely attempting any eye contact.

your whole demeanor shifted once wanda said, “excellent choice, dear. i hope you love it as much as i do.” your eyes brightened and immediately lifted your eyes to meet hers. your excitement clouded the obvious look of longing and desire wanda stared right back at you.

ever since that day, you made it your mission to stop by once a week. effortlessly, chatting about the progress you made in your book. or enthusiastically listening to wanda’s book recommendations and authors she’d love to chat with.

eventually wanda grew tired and bored of your one hour, once a week visits and created a position for you. she always ran the shop by herself. maybe her brother might lend a hand here or there. or other friends visiting will work for a room, but she never truly needed it.

wanda knew you’d accept. she anticipated you were waiting for a reasonable excuse to spend more time with her.
