dbf!mark with reader saying “I want to be ruined a little more than I want to be loved” in reply to him teasing her about boys her own age
this one is.. yeah. anyways // prompt: “I want to be ruined a little more than I want to be loved”
Call me anytime you need me.
His words rung in your head as you sat on the cold curb. The bass blaring behind you, the smell of cheap vodka mixed with the mango of some sophomore’s elf bar was making you nauseous.
The sound of the horn was 10x louder than you remembered it to be but that was probably thanks to the multiple shots you had. Though you remembered to drink water in between so it wasn’t so bad.
Mark said nothing when you got in car, just looking over at you to make sure you weren’t gonna hurl in his ridiculously expensive car before pulling off. He doesn’t say anything when you roll the window down and practically lean halfway out nor when you switch on the radio and change all the stations.
“Why didn’t you call that little boyfriend of yours?” Was the first thing he's said in 15 minutes.
Truthfully, the little boyfriend was the reason you had gone out drinking. He had been getting on your nerves, treating you like you were some fragile flower and you were sick of it.
You mumbled when you answered his question. “Because he can’t treat me like you do.”
Mark’s brows furrowed, he wasn’t lucky enough and the street lights highlighted the feature. “What does that mean?” He asks, prying at your thoughts.
“It means I want to be ruined a little more than I want to be loved.” You say flatly, looking over at the man and he looks back at you, the car returning to silence.
He turns up some random street, the car coming to a stop in the middle of some suburban paradise looking neighbourhood. He looks over at you once more and you’re confused, his hand on your jaw isn’t helping with the confusion.
Mark says nothing - his specialty - but leans over and kisses you.
He pulls you into his lap, it’s quiet but it’s heavy. The pulling, clothes being tossed around, the cramped space. Mark’s got you wrapped around his finger and you’ve got him wrapped around yours.
Your panties are pulled to the side, skirt bunched over your hips and Mark stops you, “get out.”
“What?” You look at him, beyond confused.
“Get out,” he nudged your leg and you do, still unsure as to what’s happening.
Mark pulls you to the front of the car. He turns around and bends you over the hood of it. Your back pressed to the cold metal and Mark lifts your legs, up and over his shoulders before he pushes back into you. His name falls from your lips and you feel his hips hit the back of your thighs.
You pull him down onto you, his chest pressed to yours and your hand rests on his cheek. The night air nipping at your bare skin, the man kissing along your chest, looking up at you like you were the only thing in the world.
“I’ll ruin you,” he mumbles into the crook of your neck. “There’s no one else for you but me.” He looks up, making sure you know what you’re getting yourself into.
Mark doesn’t miss the curve of your lips, the smile playing on them. “Ruin me.”

@ramblesanddragons made a post about how Bruno would look into the future and see Star Wars and stuff and how he would love the Mars Rover and then I started thinking if he might rant about those things when sick and then this madness happened. It completely got away from me, especially in the end, I'm so sorry. This doubles as a get well soon story for you @ramblesanddragons hope you feel better soon
🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀
"Tio Bruno? Everything alright?"
Mirabel's question, although uttered silently as to not attract too much attention, has - of course - attracted the attention of the entire family.
'Because they are busybodies, every single one of them,' Mirabel thinks with fond exasperation, conveniently ignoring the fact that she is just as bad.
Hence, her question.
But honestly, Bruno looks… bad. Not 'straight out of the walls malnourished'-bad, but bad enough. He does his best to act like everything is fine, but Mirabel sits next to him at the breakfast table and she can see the sheen of sweat on his brow and the red tint to his cheeks.
Her tio blinks at her owlishly, a vacant look in his eyes. "Huh?"
"Are you alright?" Mirabel doesn't bother keeping her voice down. The whole family is more or less openly staring by now.
Bruno blinks some more and then waves his hand dismissively. "Ah sure, sure. Of course. Just a bit of a headache and I stubbed my toe. The force has forsaken me today."
Mirabel blinks. Bruno owlishly blinks back.
"The… the what now?"
Bruno shrugs and tries to put some butter on his knife, but somehow he can't seem to make it stick. "Miercoles. I wish I had a lightsaber right now. Would cut through this butter like… butter. Heh."
"Uh-"
"Luke's lightsaber. I like his color best."
"What are you-?"
Pepa and Julieta groan and get up from their seats. Julieta gives her brother a quick kiss on the forehead (announcing "yep, a fever" to the gathered crowd) and then hurries to the kitchen to make him some healing soup. Pepa takes the knife out of Bruno's hand and butters his bread for him.
"Don't worry about it, kids. When your uncle has a fever he sometimes talks about some weird stuff he's seen in the future."
"It's not weird." Bruno mutters, nibbling his now buttered toast. "It's the war among the stars." He turns to Antonio sitting on his other side and pats his head. "The force is strong in you, young padawan. I can feel it."
Antonio has no idea what that means, but he beams anyway. "Thanks Tio."
"Wait wait wait?" Camilo leans forward. "There is gonna be a war among the stars?"
Pepa tries to shush him, but it's too late. Bruno is already getting to his feet. He wobbles a little but keeps his balance by putting his hand on top of Mirabel's head. The girl is too perplexed to argue. "In a galaxy, far away! It's a period of civil war and the spaceships -"
"Spaceships???"
"Enough." Pepa snaps. "It's the fever talking. There is no war in space. And I don't think there will be, it's just your uncle talking nonsense. We can't go up to space."
"We so will. We will be all over the place." Bruno disagrees. He lights up. "Like Opportunity! Opportunity will be up there." He lifts his head to look at the ceiling and to the horror of all but Pepa, who merely sighs, he starts to cry. "Oh Opportunity! Far away from home, but so brave. Oh, such a brave, little rover. You did good. You did really good. Everyone loved you. Will love you. Will have… Will have been lo-... Will have to have love-?"
"Okay, he's messing up his tenses. That's our cue to get you to bed." Pepa interrupts his confused ramblings. "Tell Juli to bring the soup to his room."
She takes her brother's arm to lead him away. Dolores gets up and walks up to them. "Do you need help, Mama? Should I cancel my date with Mariano?"
Bruno stops and takes Dolores' face between his two hands.
"No! Don't you dare! That's a good himbo you got there. The best. The perfect blend of hunk, jock and decent man. Don't you let him get away, Queen!"
Pepa looks so done as she pulls him away. "Come on Bruno, there is some nice soup with your name on it waiting for you."
They disappear around a corner but the kids can still hear some of their conversation.
"Aw, that sounds fab af. Shut up and take my money, sis!"
"I have no idea what that means, hermanito."
The kids all stare at each other in various states of bafflement, worry and confusion.
"What is a himbo?" Dolores breaks the silence. "Is that… Is that something good?"
"I'm sure it is." Agustin reassures her. "But maybe don't ask what it means either?"
"Why?"
"Well… once during a fever Bruno told me that the women of the future would consider me a dilf. I asked him what that meant and he wouldn't tell me but then Juli kinda forced him to tell her but then she refused to tell me! But every now and then she will look at me and whisper that word and just… giggle."
Felix pats his shoulder with an understanding air around him and all present get the distinct impression that he has a similar story to tell.
The grandkids all exchange looks and silently agree, there and then, to never ask.

Bombshell
Chapter 16
Your POV
Today was the day of the fifth harmony concert. I am super nervous. Why are I am nervous you might ask well you are going to find out. I am standing in the bathroom giving myself a pep talk. My phone rings and I answer it.
"Hello"
"Is everything set up. I am super nervous."
"Yep everything is set up. I can't wait to meet you."
"I can't wait to me you too, Lauren or should I say cousin." I say as a hang up the phone. I found out recently that I was related to Lauren Jauregui. Yeah crazy I know, I was digging though old photo albums and I found a young version of me and Lauren apparently she is only one year older than me. (I know she is older than that. Just work with me here.)
Cheryl POV
I don't know why Y/N is talking to herself in the mirror. She seems nervous. She sounded like she was talking to someone on the phone. She is definitely planning something and I can't wait to find out what it is.
Your POV
We were driving to the concert. The car was a little packed but it was fine. We finally arrived at the venue. We get out of the car and a man comes up to me and gave me five backstage passes to the concert. Damn Lauren really came through.
"How did you get backstage passes" Veronica asks.
"My friend gave them to me." I say as they all look confused. Eventually the concert started and we listened the concert from the comfort of backstage. The girls were having a lot of fun. Eventually it was my cue to go to the bathroom.
"HEY CHER I AM GOING TO THE BATHROOM." I yelled over the sound of the music.
Cheryl's POV
"Alright everyone we had a special song requested from someone." One of the singer announced. They started singing Marry you from Bruno Mars.
"Can I have Cheryl Blossom come on stage" Another singer says I really confused and Veronica pushes me on stage. They put me in the middle of the stage and continue singing.
"Cheryl Blossom will you marry me." I familiar voice says in the microphone. Look to the side of me and see Y/N down on one knee with a ring box in her hands.
"Ever since we started dating all I ever wanted is to make you happy. I want to continue making you happy for the rest of my life. If you will let me, Cheryl Blossom will you be my wife." I tear up. I heard the crowd awing.
"Yes" I say as I bring her into a kiss and she slips the ring onto my finger.
"Give it up to the happy couple. See you later cuz" Lauren says. We exit the stage.
Your POV
"OMG LET ME SEE THE RING" The girls say to Cheryl.
"Also how did you set this up." Cheryl says to me.
"It turns out that I am cousins with Lauren. I got into touch with her a few weeks ago and I set this up with her" I say and Cheryl kisses me.
"Y/N. Come her cuz" Lauren says. I give her a hug.
"Thank you for this. Also this is Veronica, Betty, Toni and of course this is my lovely fiancé." I say introducing everyone.
"Uh um hi" Toni say sticking her hand out to Lauren.
"Toni close your mouth you are drooling" Veronica says and Toni blushes.
"Let me introduce everyone else." Lauren says. We end up hang out with each other for awhile. I go over to Toni.
"You know it is not nice to stare." I say to her.
"I can't help myself. Look at her." She says pointing to Lauren.
"First of all I am not the one crushing over my cousin. Just ask her out or I will do it for you." I say she shakes her head.
"Suit your self." I say before walking over to Lauren.
"Hey she is not bad to look at right." I say pointing at Toni.
"No she is cute" she says to me.
"How about I give her your number and you two can go on a date."
"Sure sounds good. If it helps I am free tomorrow."
"She is too. I will make sure she knows that." I say and Lauren waves and winks at Toni. I walk back over to her and take Toni phone and put Lauren's number in it.
"You have a date with her tomorrow. Your welcome" I say to Toni. This is hilarious she looks all kinds of flustered. We end up heading home. Me and Cheryl head up my room and end up making out and having sex. Which lead to later ended up to cuddles and we fell asleep. Damn I love this women.

Word Count - 2,385
Category - Fluff, friendship, mentions of past romance
Part 1/?
Summary - Sawyer, Veronica and Nova wanted nothing more than to "make it". When they have a chance to main event with TK and Kenny Omega sitting front row, how will it go?
other author's notes - keep in mind, me and @adriii-omega wrote this in a day. there might be spelling mistakes, it might not make sense, trust the process <3 and YES a good portion of this is the ACTUAL match.
**********
“Yes Bullet Club is for life, but we’re Eternity.”
“Nova, Veronica, Sawyer you’re on in 10!” The producer yelled, knocking on the door of the dressing room. Though it wasn’t a dressing room, more like a closet. “We’ll be there in a second, damn!” Yelled Sawyer, trying to get her gear on in the tiny corner.
“It would be nice if they gave us an actual dressing room like the guys or something.” Veronica mumbled, pulling on her gear pants. Nova and Sawyer agreed. There could be thousands of dressing rooms, but they always got stuck in a janitor’s closet. “Could you imagine all three of us in our own private dressing rooms?” Nova fantasized as she tied her left boot.
The group of three had always had dreams, as small as a dressing room, to as big as being on the greatest stage of them all. But for now, a janitor’s closet, a couple bucks a night, and a high school gym would satisfy them.
“I got extra tips at the diner today so we can go out to eat after the show this time.” Sawyer announced, smiling towards Veronica, who had just told Sawyer about her craving for a milkshake earlier that day. “Oh thank God, the family I babysat for today only paid nine bucks for FIVE hours.” Nova complained, touching up her makeup.
“Nine?!” “Yeah, spoiled little white kids, AGAIN.”
Veronica and Sawyer chuckled, walking out the janitor’s closet, Nova following close behind.
The three friends had so much in common, but were so different. Like Sawyer for example, the tallest of the three and by far the smartest. She wasn’t afraid to take a bump in front of 10 people or 10,000. She would do whatever it took to make sure she ended up as one of the best professional wrestlers of all time.
Veronica, one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. Most people would call her a submission specialist, but making someone tap was just all in a day's work for her. She’ll do anything to put on the most entertaining match anyone in the crowd has ever seen, even if it’s acting like she almost died.
Nova however, was definitely a person who was ready to put on a show, taunts, hyping up the crowd and “OMG” moments were her specialty. She has gotten injured doing those special moves, many times, but she always got back up and showed out to put on the best performance.
All three of them had a purpose and decided they would stick together to reach it.
The whole roster was fond of how close they were. Others envied their success on the independent scene - except one of their closest friends, Warhorse. He was going to be on Dynamite tomorrow` to challenge Cody for his TNT Championship, but tonight, he was at the show, watching the trio wrestle.
They were walking closer to the “stage”, when he stopped them. “You will not believe who’s here!” Sawyer groaned, “Jake you know I hate guessing games so can you jus-”
“Tony Khan and Kenny Omega.” Their jaws dropped. “THE owner and EVP OF AEW?” Nova questioned. Veronica’s palms started to get sweaty. “Why are they here? I don’t even want to be here; there is no way the ACTUAL Kenny Omega and Tony Khan are sitting in a high school gym.” She wiped her hands on her pants and crossed them over her chest. “You don’t believe me? Well you guys will see in about an hour or so.” Warhorse smirked.
“We’re going out now, dipshit.” Sawyer insulted. Nova and Veronica laughed, but Warhorse had more to say, “Didn’t you hear? You guys have been bumped to the main event since the rich guys are out there.”
Suddenly calm, cool and collected Sawyer had her jaw to the floor. “Sawyer?” Nova whispered, shaking her friend's shoulder. “I can’t fly high and be energetic for the last 30 minutes of the show! I’ll break something or pass out!”
Veronica giggled at her friend’s nonsense, “You’ll be fine. C’mon, let's go watch the matches.”
Nova, Veronica and Sawyer sat by a monitor, watching the last few matches before their main event match. They were enjoying some of the two newer wrestlers face off when a hand slammed down on a table. They looked up and saw Madi Wrenkowski, fuming.
“They CUT my match so you guys could have your dumb main event.”
Sawyer held back laughter while Veronica spoke up, “Well it’s not our fault, we didn’t find out till five minutes ag-” “You think you’ll be big cause of a few matches? No way. Just stick to the janitor’s closet.” Madi scoffed, storming off.
“A few 5 star matches to be fair!” Nova called out, receiving a high five from her friends. It had been like this for a while, Madi going off on how she was “better”, but mean girls were SO high school.
They all took a deep breath, knowing it was their time to main event.
When the three reached the gorilla position. They saw Warhorse standing by the curtain waiting for them. Everyone was pretty happy that they got the opportunity to perform for someone like Kenny Omega, but deep down inside Veronica, Sawyer, and Nova knew that they deserved to be in the main event spot a long time ago.
“You three are going to kill it.” Warhorse smiled at his friends. He wondered how cool it would be to see them all in AEW at one time. “Thanks Jake.” Nova said. Sawyer was standing at the curtain, waiting for her cue.
“Say, bitch, I don’t wanna talk.”
Realer by Megan Thee Stallion blasted off the gym walls. The couple hundred of fans there jumped out of their seats to show their love for Sawyer, though she wasn’t supposed to be having such a loud reaction. She walked down the entrance way stopping at a young child who had their hand out for a high five. Sawyer went over to make it seem like she was about to, but smoothly pushed her hair back instead- flipping off the parents as well. As she got in the ring she took a quick scan to look for Kenny and Tony. She spotted them front and center in the front row she gave a sly smirk and went to one of the corners of the ring.
“TOOONIGHTTTTT-“
Nova shot out of the curtain while 24K Magic by Bruno Mars played in the gym. The crowd was also feeling the song as they got up and grooved. Even Tony Khan was bobbing his head along. Nova walked down to the ring, pep in her step. She gave people in the crowd high fives and hugs. She entered the ring and tried to get Sawyer to dance along, but backed away when Sawyer stood over her, glaring and clenching her fists. She walked over to her corner, climbing up to the second turnbuckle, waving at the whole crowd.
“I fly with the stars in the skies…”
Veronica pushed her black shades on as she smoothly walked through the curtain as “Moment 4 Life” by Nick Minaj came on the speakers. It was a perfect song to describe how she felt as she took the audience in at the top of the ramp. Her swagger was untouched but when she stepped in front of Kenny Omega, she felt his eyes never leave her which made her confidence blast through the roof. She used the stairs to get in and leaned on the ropes and waved to the other people that were there.
The three stared each other down, “this is awesome” chants from the crowd already starting. The ref asked all of them if they were ready, then called for the bell to ring. They all circled around the ring, the crowd wondering who was gonna hit first. Nova started taunting the two, planning to get the crowd on her side early in the match.
Sawyer had enough and tackled Nova to the ground, throwing punches, keeping away from the head. Veronica pulled Sawyer off, Sawyer widened her eyes, Veronica irish whipped Sawyer into the ropes, clotheslining her as soon as she came back. Veronica turned at the crowd, cheering along with them, not paying attention that Sawyer just did a kip-up behind her.
Veronica turned around just to be met with a kick to the face. Veronica turned around once, swaying side to side before falling to the ground, selling coming in clutch.
Nova came up from behind Sawyer, drop kicking her and making her fall to the mat. They planned to live to the phrase “fight forever”. Nova walked towards Veronica, dragging her up. Veronica started to gain her consciousness back, kicking Nova in the legs and Nova dodging as many as she could.
While they weren’t paying attention, Sawyer crawled towards the corner, climbing up the top rope, getting in position for a frog splash. It wasn’t till the crowd started screaming till Veronica and Nova looked towards the corner, Sawyer jumping off and crashing into both of them.
She stood up, hyping herself up, looking towards TK and Kenny, smirking.
*match skip*
Sawyer, Veronica, and Nova all struggled to get to their feet trying to use each other for balance. It had at least been 25 minutes of non stop action, and everyone was on the edge of their seat. Sawyer threw a punch in Veronica’s direction , but she attempted to counter it with an arm bar bringing her down to the mat. Nova saw the opportunity as she started to climb to one of the top turnbuckles. With Sawyer’s strength she manages to deliver a powerbomb to Veronica getting out of the arm bar. She crouched in the corner as Nova hit a devastating Macho Man like elbow drop.
1…
2…
But Sawyer broke up the pin by pulling Nova’s leg. Nova slapped Sawyer making Sawyer deliver a right hand back but harder, making her roll out the ring and on the apron. Veronica was slowly getting back up and Sawyer noticed as she charged towards her, making Veronica pull the top rope making her land on the outside. Veronica made her way to the apron where Nova was at; her back turned to Veronica not seeing her jump and wrap her legs around her neck for a reverse hurricanrana. With a loud thud, both of them rolled onto the floor in pain.
Sawyer crawled over , throwing Veronica in the ring and seeing Nova began to stir. Sawyer climbed to the top turnbuckle with her back turned to deliver a perfect moonsault, making the crowd gasp, and Tony and Kenny to stand up. Sawyer held her side, and rolled into the ring ready to finish the match. She stood in the ring, waiting for Veronica to get in position for her finishing move. Veronica stood and it was too late, and she tucked her chin ready for the impact of Sawyer’s devastating Canadian Destroyer.
1…
2…
3.
Sawyer stood up, referee raising her arm in the air. She tried to bite back her smile but simply couldn’t. She watched as Veronica and Nova started to walk backstage, exiting the ring, breaking out of character as soon as she was behind the curtain.
Veronica, Nova and Sawyer started talking about the match, complimenting each other. “Excuse me ladies?” They looked over, and saw Tony Khan and Kenny Omega walking towards them. Nova spun around and almost caused Sawyer and Veronica to fall over. “Really impressive match out there. You know I didn’t think you guys would have met my expectations but I was way wrong.” Kenny admitted, and Tony agreed. “Yea , we would really love for you guys to come over to our company for a bit. Not on Dynamite yet, but some Dark matches maybe?” Tony suggested. They were beyond excited. Sawyer started imagining all of the memories she could create at AEW, and seeing some people she hadn’t seen in a while - until a certain person popped into her head. “I would love to wrestle for you guys, but does Wardlow know? Or is he even okay with this- “ Veronica gave Sawyer the death stare and Nova let out a laugh. “Wardlow? He’s the one that brought you guys up. He said you were all really talented, and since we’re looking for more women wrestlers you were the right people. Is there something going on between…” “NO.” Sawyer interrupted Tony.
“It’s complicated. I just wanted to make sure he was okay with working with me again.” Nova couldn’t believe Sawyer’s actions and it was making it extremely hard not to burst out of laughter on the spot. Veronica stood in between her friends listening closely to what Khan was saying. She felt eyes on her so she looked up and was met with Kenny’s soft stare. He smiled and looked away making her do the same.
“Yea, so tomorrow I was thinking you guys could get to Jacksonville and see Dynamite, then wrestle after the show?” Tony said. “That works fine with us.” Nova said, smiling wide
“Great!” Kenny said, smiling at Veronica. “Sawyer, Veronica?”
Sawyer and Veronica looked at each other, they could tell what they both were thinking just by the looks on their face. Veronica nodded, Sawyer spoke up, “Let’s do this.” “That’s great, the flight leaves at 11 tonight, so get there as fast as you can,” Tony said, looking at his phone, “Oh and Sawyer?”
Sawyer looked up, “Don’t interrupt me again.”
Nova couldn’t keep in her laughter anymore, not even when Veronica punched her arm and told her to shush. Tony and Kenny left the building, leaving the friends beaming and damn near tears. “Veronica and Kenny sitting in a tree!” Nova and Sawyer started to sing, making Veronica roll her eyes, “Yeah I’ll remember that when we see Wardlow tomorrow.”
Sawyer huffed. “But remember we promised if things ever ended up like this, we would stay together no matter what happens between any of us.” Nova brought up, talking about the promise they all made years before.
“Friends, no matter what.” They all said in unison, knowing in the back of their heads they would be friends for eternity.

miss A (미쓰에이) - Good-bye Baby
This week’s recommendation is Good-bye Baby by miss A!
Tumblr media
watch the MV here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYKO1za5mX0&ab_channel=missA
Good-bye Baby is a song by miss A, released July 18th 2011. It is the lead single on their debut studio album A Class, released the same day, and was produced by Park Jinyoung (or as he’s credited on the album, J.Y. Park “TheAsiansoul”).
The producer behind this song uploaded a video of himself recording the song with Manny Marroquin, a Grammy-winning mixing engineer who has worked alongside powerhouses like Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys, Kanye West and Bruno Mars.
Good-bye Baby is a dance-pop, pop song which details how a girl has confidently dumped her ‘playboy’ boyfriend who likes to cheat. The lyrics in the first verse reference one of the members, reading: “I figured it out when you called me Suzy by accident, when my name isn’t Suzy. I don’t know why I tried so hard to trust you (I knew what kind of guy you were). Don’t cry in vain. (I took out all of your things). The acting stops now.” and this garnered a lot of attention for their impactful statement, despite their playful nature.
The song is described as having a strong hip-hop rhythm, with acoustic shuffle elements.
This song peaked at number 1 on the Gaon Digital Chart in 2011.
Tumblr media
A Class was miss A’s debut studio album, released July 18th 2011. It featured six singles, one being the award winning Bad Girl, Good Girl.
There’s quite a bit of background this album, so bear with me for a second. July 1 2010, miss A released a four-song EP Bad But Good, which included Love Again (다시 사랑) and Bad Girl Good Girl, which were their first and second singles, released June 30th and July 1st respectively. These two tracks, plus their album track Break It were later included on A Class.
Their second four-song EP Step Up was released 27th September 2010 and its song Breathe was used as the promotional single. All other tracks were later included on A Class.
The lead single for A Class was Good-bye Baby, but their next single from this album Love Alone was specially created for Kim Yuna’s Ice Show; she is South Korea’s figure skating champion. The group performed the song as special guests on her show as Yuna and other figure skaters danced to the song. This song was also their first song sung in English, and was released May 2011.
A Class reached number 9 on the Gaon Weekly Album Chart, but finished at number 5 for the month, and 44 for the year of 2011. Their other single, Love Alone, reached number 6 on Gaon’s Digital Charts.

miss A was a South Korean-Chinese girl group under JYP Entertainment. They debuted in 2010 with their song Bad Girl Good Girl as a four member group, made up of Fei, Jia, Min and Suzy. Their debut song reached number 1 on the Gaon Digital Charts, making them the first to ever have a debut song reach the top of the chart. It also went on to become the best-performing single of 2010. Originally, miss A consisted of five trainees formed in 2010. Three of them appeared on Chinese variety shows performing dance routines and songs as “The Chinese Wonder Girls”, with Woo Hyerim as a member, who eventually was placed in Wonder Girls soon before miss A’s debut in order to replace Sunmi (ex-member of Wonder Girls).
March 2010, Suzy Bae (15 at the time) joined the group, which then became a trio known as miss A. They signed with the Samsung Electronics in China and released a song used for the commercial called Love Again for the Samsung Beat Fetsival. Lee Min Young, a solo artist and a long time trainee in America, made a cameo appearance in the MV. She later joined the group for their South Korean debut in April 2010.
A Class (2011) produced two more number 1 songs, and their follow-up EPs Touch and Independent Women Part III (both released 2012) proved more success. Their second studio album Hush (2013) was well-received by critics and its title track has been covered numerous times by girl groups and on survival shows.
After this, there was a year long hiatus, until they released their 3rd EP Colors (2015), which was their last release before disbandment.
In 2017, Billboard ranked miss A at number 10 on their “Top 10 K-pop Girl Groups of the Decade” list.
Jia left the group in May 2016, where management said that the group was working on individual activities and focusing on their solo careers. In November 2017, Min left the group after her contract expired with the company. Cue December 2017, where JYP officially announced that the group had disbanded.
Currently only Suzy and Fei remain in the company from miss A.
Their fandom name was Say A, but they never had an official fandom colour.

parade.com Alison Abbey By ALISON ABBEY @awabbey He’s the man with the million-dollar smile and the heart of 24K gold. Bruno Mars has spent the past decade charming crowds, topping the charts and winning awards–he took home seven at the 2017 American Music Awards, including Artist of the Year—and now he’s paying his success forward. The multiplatinum-selling singer closed the Auburn Hills, Michigan, stop of his sold-out 24K Magic World Tour with the news that he (along with his tour promoter, Live Nation) had donated $1 million to the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, which helps children and families exposed to lead in the city’s water supply. “It’s just a heartbreaking situation,” says Mars a few months later, backstage at his Louisville, Kentucky, show. “People there are still suffering today. I just don’t want that to be swept under the rug. This happened to good people and their families and their businesses.” As for the decision to speak about his own good deed publicly, something Mars rarely does, he finds a way to make that about others as well. “I never talk about doing anything like that, and I just thought it would be really nice if the show was to kind of have that moment,” he says. “Hopefully everyone there could walk out of there feeling like they were a part of something great.” Being a part of something great is nothing new for Mars, the 32-year-old superstar known for hits like “Just the Way You Are,” “Uptown Funk” and “That’s What I Like.” Born Peter Hernandez (but nicknamed “Bruno” by his father as a toddler), he was raised in Hawaii in a family of entertainers. Mars was bitten by the showbiz bug early when he saw his uncle perform as Elvis onstage. An obsession with the hip-swinging showman was born, and little Bruno became the world’s youngest Presley impersonator at just 4 years old. (He even had a cameo imitating the King in the 1992 Nicolas Cage film Honeymoon In Vegas.) “As a kid, I didn’t know what he was singing about, it was just the fact that he got the girls screaming,” he says. “That’s what I was freaking out about, like, ‘Man, all I gotta do is shake my leg? I want to do that one day!’” The Family Business Elvis may have taught Mars how to be a heartthrob, but it was his father, Peter Hernandez Sr., who taught him how to be a star. “He was running the shows with a cast of 17 people,” he says of the senior Hernandez’s stage show, which included his mom, aunts, uncles and siblings. (Mars’ brother Eric is now his drummer.) “You don’t go onstage if your shoes aren’t spotless and your hair isn’t whipped and your gold isn’t shining enough, because the next band is going to come, and they might not even sound as good, but they’re the ones that are going to look memorable. That’s my dad’s school of rock.” Bruno graduated from that school, and at age 13, from the role of Elvis. “Since I was a little kid, that’s all there was—doing the show at night, going to school in the morning. It was like I was Batman. I had this secret identity at school,” he says. “It was an attraction. ‘Go see the little Elvis kid in his father’s show.’ I was that kid! Then you turn 13, and it’s not cute anymore. Elvis didn’t have pimples like that.” That’s when he discovered R&B music. “You’re going to school dances, and the girls are listening to Usher,” he says. “It was just like taking off the Elvis suit and singing R&B songs to girls.” A fan of legends like James Brown, Michael Jackson and Prince, Mars started looking to of-the-moment performers like Usher to expand his repertoire. That mix molded him into the artist he’s become. “That’s the bar—the highest level of entertainment. You’ve got to take cues from these guys who’ve set it,” he says. Becoming “The Man” Those early days onstage and years of watching VHS tapes of Jackson and Brown paid off when, at 18, he moved to Los Angeles and signed his first record deal. But the experience wasn’t exactly what he had in mind. Producers stepped in and tried to mold the young artist, who had his own ideas about image and sound. “I think that was the valuable lesson that I had to learn, that you’ve got to be in control. Me coming from Hawaii, where it whoever can just sing their ass off and kill it is the man. But it wasn’t like that [in L.A.]. My frustration with the record business was them trying to put me in a box, It’s like, ‘There’s pop radio, there’s adult, there’s rock. What are you?’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know!’ You don’t know who you are at 18 years old. Hopefully I’m just dope.” Mars took matters into his own hands. “It was just having to knuckle up and say, ‘I gotta do this on my own, because I can’t expect the record label to tell me who to be or what to be. I’m just going to write the songs that I’m extremely proud of.’” And that’s what he did. After landing his second recording contract (with Atlantic), he released his first solo album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans in 2010. His debut single, “Just the Way You Are,” and the follow-up “Grenade” both reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts, but as he started planning for his second album, Mars realized something was missing. “The first album was me just trying to write the best songs I could possibly write, but then I go on tour for the very first time. Now I’m singing these songs I wrote in the studio, and I’m like, ‘Man, we’re not moving enough!’ It’s such a big part of my upbringing—every time my band and I are in sound check, we’re dancing. So we gotta pick up the tempo.” That’s where his second album, Unorthodox Jukebox comes in. Hit singles like “Treasure” and “Locked Out of Heaven” allowed Mars (and his band, the Hooligans) to show off their skills. But he still wasn’t satisfied. Ever the showman—and harkening back to the advice he got from his father and the lessons he learned from his musical idols—Mars knew he had to take things one step further. “They need to see all of the attitude, not just the little glimpse. They need to know that I’m the man up here. That’s where ‘Uptown Funk’ comes in,” he says, referring to his 2014 collaboration with super producer Mark Ronson. The song, which is heavy on ’70s funk, sizzles with swag, thanks to lyrics like, “I’m too hot / Call the police and the fireman / I’m too hot / Make a dragon wanna retire, man.” The megahit spent 14 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and certified Mars’ place in music as “the man.” And it showcased how Mars was able to take cues from the music he grew up with and make it his own. “I could sing almost any funk song over the music for ‘Uptown Funk,’ but have you ever heard ‘make a dragon wanna retire, man’?” he says, laughing. “It’s taking what you love and being able to spin it and make it feel like something no one has ever heard before.” He took a similar approach to his latest album, 24K Magic, a ’90s R&B-inspired opus that finally gave Mars the chance to sing, dance and be the man. Released in November of last year, the album was certified double-platinum and spawned hits like “24K Magic” and “That’s What I Like.” (Mars has amassed seven No. 1 songs throughout his career—and he attained the first five faster than any male artist since his original idol, Elvis.) “With this album, I really wanted to make a movie, based on a true story of this kid who’s in love with that feeling that ’90s R&B gave; how it was OK to dance and smile with a girl on the dance floor and sing to a girl.” That “movie” paints Mars—or a version of him—as a smooth operator, rocking Versace pajama-style shirts, gold jewelry and dark sunglasses, and wooing women with his clever turns of phrase and Casanova status. But all in good fun. “I saw the silky shirts and the gold chains, and I was dancing through Vegas,” he says of the persona he dons throughout the album. “For me, this one’s like, ‘All right, now let’s have some fun. Let’s flirt.’” Mars is having so much fun touring the album that he decided to turn it into a TV special. On November 29 at 10 p.m. ET, he’ll debut Bruno Mars: 24K Magic Live at the Apollo. The hourlong CBS special features performances at the legendary NYC theater (with an epic opening number atop the venue’s marquee) as well as throughout the streets of New York, as Mars and the Hooligans interact with passersby—“four days of running around Harlem,” performing every song on the album, as Mars puts it. “When you make an album, you want people to lose themselves in your world. It’s important that you know we’re the vessel,” he says. “I’m hoping that the special, once people see it, it’s going to even take it even further, and they’ll say, ‘He put together a show when he made this album. He was putting together this.’ They’ll understand where I am in life, and how much fun I’m having doing what I love to do.” Because the taping was a secret, audience members had to check their phones at the door, something Mars says changed the entire dynamic of the performance. “I’m like, ‘Why does this feel so different than everything I’ve done?’ People are dancing on the balconies and singing and so involved in the show that’s happening in front of them. Then it kicked in: They didn’t have their phones.” Mars says eliminating phones from a show creates a heightened level of engagement for the audience, and a heightened connection with whomever is onstage. “I say it every night: ‘Put your camera phones down and have fun.’ I remember how much fun I had [at concerts growing up]. Now you go and you’re not even taking pictures of the show—you’re taking pictures of yourself at the show! It’s The Twilight Zone!” Does it affect him to see people on their phones at a show? “A little bit,” he says. “The reason I wanted to do this is because of the feeling you get onstage in front of people. You are responsible for their night. You’re kind of this like DJ, and you’re conducting an experience based on the vibe in the room,” he says. “If everybody’s got a phone in front of them, you’re no longer looking at faces that are smiling or frowning or yawning.” The Man Who Keeps on Giving Mars wants to spread the love too. Giving back is more important than ever to the star, who once lived in a shack in the middle of a Hawaiian bird sanctuary. Beginning in 2014, he partnered with the Hawaii Community Foundation to offer Hawaii-based students scholarships to Grammy Camp, which allows high school students to learn all aspects of commercial music. This year, Mars, himself a five-time Grammy winner, opened up the scholarship to include students from all over the country. He also participated last month in NBC’s telethon for hurricane relief in Puerto Rico, One Voice: Somos Live! A Concert for Disaster Relief, where he took the stage to perform “Just the Way You Are” in English and Spanish. The cause is especially personal for Mars, whose father was born in Puerto Rico. “I’m extremely blessed that I am providing for myself and my family, doing what I love,” he says. “My dream came true, and more. If I’m in a position to help a cause that that breaks my heart, why wouldn’t I do that?” Life on Mars Favorite food: Sushi Last thing you cooked: Mac and cheese Last thing you listened to: A Cardi B song Binge-watching: Game of Thrones What do you miss most about Hawaii? The beach Favorite Michael Jackson album: Bad What do you miss most when you’re on the road? My bed. And my toilet. You don’t know what you got ’til it’s gone. Song you wish you’d written: “Crazy” by Gnarls Barkley Song you wish you’d never written: I’m not walking into the Grammy’s going, “Remember ‘The Lazy Song’?”

9 More of Our Favourite Karaoke Songs
"Party in the USA" - Miley Cyrus
Everyone knows this work-safe song.  Young girls, middle-aged men, biker dudes, it doesn't matter; everyone knows the lyrics and they sing along when they hear this tune.
Even people that hate Miley will begrudgingly tap their toes and try not to sing.  But they will fail.  No one resists the magical powers of this, dare we say, classic?
This song has it all: Irresistible beat, catchy melody and party lyrics. It's also a strong female karaoke song, although it's not off-limits for guys.
The best part about singing this song is you can really let loose.  The crowd takes their cues from you, and when they see you getting your jam on, well, it's "Party in the U.S.A." time baby.
"Born to Run" - Bruce Springsteen
"Born to Run" is the Boss's signature song and everyone relates to the young working-class theme and the desire to be free.
Best of all, you get to implement all of Bruce's rock poses.  Raise your fist while tapping your feet aggressively.  Turn your back to the audience and throw your arms out wide.  Make your face look like you just sucked a lemon while you shred on air guitar.
The key is to bring it home enthusiastically when you sing, "Tramps like us /  baby we were born to run."  It's a sure-fire crowd pleaser.
"Just a Friend" - Biz Markie
An old school song that transcends generations, "Just a Friend" is funny and memorable.  Even better is the fact that audiences get into the chorus and will sing along passionately.
People understand the pain of loving someone unattainable and delight in this fun, storytelling rap.  Put your hand over your heart and feign your death when you sing "Oh baby you."
The barrier to entry is low with this song as Biz wails out of tune throughout.  So if you can't sing or rap, or if the crowd is too drunk to know the difference, it's a perfect choice.
"Sweet Home Alabama" - Lynyrd Skynyrd
The song begins with "Turn it up," which is a familiar call to crowds everywhere to get up and dance.
Are you're sensing a theme with this list? All of these choices are songs people can get into.  To that end, "Sweet Home Alabama" fits the bill.
Audiences of all ages and musical tastes know every word of this song. That's possibly because it is prevalent in many films.  They even made a movie called Sweet Home Alabama.
Put on your Joe Dirt mullet wig and rock out to this 70's classic.
"We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" - Taylor Swift
Exes everywhere rejoice in this whimsical revenge tune.  And if revenge songs are your thing, pretty much any Taylor Swift song will do.
But we like this one because it's fun and people get into singing "ever ever ever" a lot.
And if your ex is in the crowd, even better.  Be bold and make a dedication.  You know their reaction will be priceless.
"Drunk in Love" - Jay-Z and Beyonce
"Drunk in Love" is a fun song for couples.  So if you and your bae-bae love this Jay and Bey jam, go for it.
This song is best performed anywhere you can safely get your freak on.  The risque lyrics are perfectly fine at parties and bars, but it's not advised for work functions and family get-togethers.
It's all about the performance.  Specifically, Queen B's part is what matters here because, frankly, this is her song.
Let your inner diva out and completely commit to it to bring the house down.
"Don't Stop Believin" - Journey
We have to include "Don't Stop Believin" because by any measure it's a classic.  It is the first song to have a million downloads on iTunes.  In fact, it was the most downloaded song ever until 2014.
It's a karaoke mainstay as well.  The United States Karaoke Alliance named it as the #4 karaoke song of all time.
Laurels aside, everyone knows and loves this song and you will be a hit if you are born to sing the blues too.
"All The Small Things" - Blink 182
A 90's classic, "All The Small Things" works well if you're crowd has had a few adult beverages.  Besides being a catchy song, you don't have to think about too much.  Lots of "na na nas" in this one, giving it high marks for sing-along-ability.
Pro Tip: Hold out the mic when it's time for the crowd to shout, "Work sucks."  You're welcome.
"Uptown Funk" - Bruno Mars
Almost any Bruno Mars tune is a good karaoke song.  The man knows how to create upbeat songs that make people happy.
As the karaoke singer, you can be the conduit that delivers such goodness to the crowd.
Dancing is not optional.  You must throw your inhibitions out the window and have fun.  Let the crowd feed off your energy.
Groups can have fun with this one too.  Let one person sing lead with the  background singers/dancers bringing it home with every "Hot damn."  Crowd around the mic for the chorus.
There are no rules with this song.  Have fun and perform it with reckless abandon.
The Best Karaoke Songs: The Bottom Line
It's best to sing a song you already know.  That way you won't have to stare at the machine to read the lyrics.  You can relax, get into your performance and just have fun.
Choose karaoke songs that people already know and love.  When everyone in the room is on the same page there's a connection.  The crowd loves your energy and you get to feed off of them too.  It a great time for everyone.

Lele Rose & The Thorns "Running Away"
Lele Rose & The Thorns "Running Away"
Written by the beautiful and talented Lele Rose, at home on her piano and recorded with engineer Blaine Misner at Cue Studios Falls Church, VA next to her hometown of Arlington/Washington DC, the song is a metaphor about this current time in her life of being a young adult and a working musician making it in the industry. With everything going on in the world today from violent acts to natural disasters, the song enables the listener to escape through beautiful melodies, the grand piano, and the immersion of the electric guitar.
“Running Away” brings Rose’s songwriting to life through the true story of a piano girl finding her rock n roll band and hitting the road on tour. Instead of running away from herself and her dreams, she finds an escape through music to live out her dreams and take her audience with her.
Most recognized by her distinct soulful voice and refined piano chops, singer/songwriter Lele Rose returned to the stage in LA with the newest edition of her rock band, The Thorns. United by The Sunset Jam’s weekly show at The Viper Room in West Hollywood presented by Erik Himel, the band came together to create the final scene in Rose’s latest music video.
With a full house at The Mint LA last Thursday (October 19th), Lele Rose & The Thorns put on an electrifying show for the release of their Running Away Music Video filmed on a rooftop in downtown Los Angeles by Industrialism Films. THE THORNS includes creator Lele Rose on lead vocals, keyboard, guitar, Damon Cisneros – co-musical director on drums, Stonehand Andrew lead guitar, Megan Rask bass, Andre Ribeiro keyboards. Performing pop rock soul music live from her albums Bliss Kingdom, and Back 2 Life with a Bruno Mars cover, the band received an enormous positive response from the crowd. Sophia Radisch opened the night and Mike Bauer closed it out, KBH Entertainment presented a solid night.
