That moment when Matt let loose as lucien and started maniacally laughing? Yes.

one book that makes me sympathize so hard with the villain. It's been a good couple of months since I finished this book but these few images keep circling in my head.
'The Nine Eyes of Lucien' excerpts under the break
"Do you remember that fiend we fought outside of Berleben? Gods, but that thing had a stench. I thought it was going to feast on my entrails, and Brevyn couldn't get a clear shot, then you found us and got it to chase you just long enough for me to cast and bind it," she said, laughing, and wiped at her brow. "I think that was the day Brev fell for you."
He tried to access the memory, but all he could conjure were the blurry faces of a younger Cree and Brevyn, one on each side of him, haloed in the luminous shine of an enchanted swamp, a few scraggly trees behind offering shade. "Bloody good timing!" Cree had shrieked, and she and Brevyn kissed him on the face. His cheeks burned where the kisses had landed.
--
That's her. The charm. Do you remember? The circus, the lights, the way Yasha's rare smile just lights up the whole fucking night? I know you remember her. She's like your Brevyn, Circus Man. She and I might only have been friends, but I think you have a type.
--
The bright blast of a spell punched into his chest, a rain of blood and sparks exploding from the wound. Lucien pushed his hands into the opening, pulling against the flesh and bones, eager, at last, for the pain to stop. There was a flicker of laughter somewhere in the distance, and a smile he wanted to curl up inside of, and a promise of a long sleep at the end of a longer journey. This was the realm of dreams, after all, and anything was possible.

I feel like we don’t talk enough about how Molly says they’re genderfluid (said in character for the first time) in Nine Eyes of Lucien

"The Mighty Nein, that's what they call themselves." "Are there nine of them?" "N-No..." Lucien nodded stiffly. "Ridiculous name." "I said they were dangerous, I never said they were smart."
There were so many great parts in The Nine Eyes of Lucien, but this one might be my favorite.

Tribute to Mollymauk Tealeaf -oil, acrylics on canvas Ronnie Rose Starling 2022 Ok but on a more funky note, I didn't post this due to the fact that I planned another layer of oil with a round of corrections, hair detailing, etc, alas, I'll just share the progress since I'm really fond of it.
Mollymauk was iconically the first ever character I could ever call my favourite character, which is a weird concept to me (I don't really understand 'favourites') so Tadaaaah! Critical Role caught me when I was going through alot of intense emotional trauma and I am proud to call myself a critter because of this fun community of compassionate and crazy creative people ♥ Stay hydrated (and kind)

I desperately want the next book to be Laudna’s backstory. It would be so good and heartbreaking
Probably wouldn’t happen till at least the end of campaign 3

In light of what we’ve now seen of Kingsley, I keep wondering what Mollymauk would have been like had they managed to resurrect him after episode 26. Would we have had new purple tiefling after new purple tiefling with every in-game death, each one insisting that they don’t know the others and are nothing like them, all the while remaining startlingly in character??
The whole idea is fascinating and brilliant. I loved Mollymauk, I love Kingsley, I’ve even grown a sort of exasperated fondness for Lucien. I love the concept that at his core, he’s the same person, but that same personality expresses in such varied ways.
Regardless, his friends always recognize him. There’s something so heartwarming about that.

I’ve finally reached the part of The Nine Eyes of Lucien where the Tomb Takers meet up with the Mighty Nein and boy is it fantastic having it confirmed that Molly was actually still in there when the Nein were trying to reach Molly because their attempts to pull Molly to the forefront of Lucien is one of my favorite things of the Aeor arc. The book is also making me realize that the Nein were lucky af that Beau wasn’t killed in The Cathedral because they would have lost Yasha as well and imo the book makes it seem that it’s Molly’s love for Yasha that actually makes Lucien not attempt to kill them until the Nein chased the Tomb Takers down after they stole the Nein’s Bag of Holding. The way the Molly part of Lucien connects his memories of Yasha with Lucien’s memories of Brevyn is perfection, tall buff ladies seem to be their weakness.
Also, the audiobook made me cry the moment Taliesin’s Molly voice became a voice in Lucien’s head which was an experience as I was driving to work when I heard it for the first time.
