Are you going to write a post 9.22 story?

I hope so! I just watched 9x22 in its entirety yesterday so I'm still sorting through all of it. I have the weekend off so that's the plan!

I'm still working out my feelings over the finale, but overall I'm shocked at how many people think that since Hailey made a mistake in the Roy storyline, her refusal to do it again makes her a hypocrite. I've got some less-than-pleasant thoughts about it all, so I need to simmer a little before I write 😂

I got my friend to watch cpd and she has hated Voight since the first moment. She likes Jay and just got introduced to Hailey. Now I just gotta make sure she becomes an Upstead stan so I can watch her burn once she gets to s10. Just so she can feel half the pain I've felt 🙃 The better half of me wants to tell her to stop and not suffer but also the beauty of Upstead 🙏 I would do it all over again even knowing where we are now.

She’s in for a RIDE. Just tell her to stop watching after 9x22. Nothing exists after season nine now.

What did U think of 9x22? Disappointed, liked it, something else? Any questions U have or plots U didn’t get? Where do U think S10 will start off?

Hey Nonny. So as an episode I thought it was decent. But as a season finale, I thought it missed the mark a little. I agree with what Cíara (@fighterkimburgess) said a couple days ago, that they were maybe a little pressed to have 22 episodes this season likely in anticipation of having multiple covid delays. I really wish the season ended on 9x21 because how terrifying would that have been? It felt way more like a finale, while 9x22 really did feel more like a season opener. I wouldn't have been mad if that had been 10x01 because it did tie things up nicely.

I guess my biggest question, aside from when the hell did CPD become a superhero show (because damn right about those Wolverine healing power for Hailey!!), would be the need to hide the information about the latest rape from Anna. That made zero sense to me. I know it was to make her lose trust in Voight, but I think there were other ways to do that, that would have made more sense. Because Anna knows that this is an initiation rite for Los Temidos. She's the one who told them it was. And since she knew from the jump that they believed Escano was the head of Los Temidos, shouldn't that mean she at least suspected that he had a hand in her rape? I get the confirmation of that stressing Anna out, but that's not the way it came across. It's like it was completely new information for her. So that still doesn't make sense to me, at all. If someone does have an explanation then please come and explain it to me.

As to where we'll start back up, I'm leaning towards a small time jump. A couple of days to a few weeks. Maybe opening on the press conference about the drugs that were seized, or Voight's first day back after some medical leave. The only thing left to explore is ramifications. Those are really only going to be emotional and (should be) largely felt by Voight. As to anything else, I just hope there's more overall balance between the stories being, between the characters at least.

is it all over for you in general with 9x09/9x22 or only really after 10x03?

This is entirely dependent on how 10x3 goes. If Jay is still living offscreen, then I’ll maybe go back and re-watch what’s going on in 10. But I still don’t have any intentions of watching live when it airs.

However, if the writers do something stupid then that’s it. CPD ended at season 9.

I know that sounds weird but when Jay said to Hailey "I don't wanna start my marriage with the woman that i love out of prison" in 9x08 sorry if I misquote it... and then Jay made the "deal" with Vo *ght did in 9x09 that he was already in a "prison" through Vo*ght's influence if you know what I mean until Hailey reminded him in 9x22 who he is? and thus freed Jay in a certain way... because even after Jay's "deal" with Vo*ght, I had Hailey herself "freed" from Vo*ght and Jay "saved" her and she was in the " finale" Jay "saved" in return

That makes sense. I like how you said that Jay "was already in a 'prison' through Vo*ght's influence". If you really think about it, everyone in Intelligence is in some sort of "prison" because of Voight's influence. He is their boss, which means their jobs and ability to be a cop are in his hands. If they do something Voight doesn't like, for example, trying to stop his dirty policing style, he could easily kick them out of the unit. Voight has so much influence in the CPD; he knows how to help and ruin someone's career.

Now, I think Voight cares about each person on the team and would do anything to protect them; we have seen that countless times. But he still has the power to ruin anybody's career if he wants.

Hailey's actions in 9x22 showed us that she has "freed" herself from Voight's influence. She doesn't care what Voight thinks or does to her career, she isn't going to blindly follow Voight risking her life or morals. Not anymore! I don't know if Hailey has "freed" Jay quite yet though. After the events of 9x22, I'm still unsure how Jay will act in the future. Was his argument with Hailey enough for him to realize what side he should be on? Or will he continue allowing Voight to bend the rules and follow his lead?

I guess we'll have to wait until September to find out!

CPD 9x22 EPIC and it drained me. Pain is like water for me. The writers first stripped me of Brettsey.  Now they may send Voight to mental rehab and they may take away another favorite of mine.  I know it’s not their fault about Jesse leaving. It hurts nevertheless.

 I still think Voight will guest star because Jason was at the upfronts. I am still fascinated by Voight even if he can't be saved from himself: I do not know how to explain it but I see a man trapped in the darkness who tries to swim but can't get out. He feels so guilty and he has remorse for believing to be an invincible God. I will go down to hell or purgatory with him. In my opinion he still has a soul and he has feelings, I still see humanity in him. I am drawn to him.😲 Maybe the trauma he experienced, losing his informant, will not make him go madder but it will push him and shake him so hard that he  will understand he has to be like Jay, a good cop. I doubt. It's too late for Voight. 😢 Maybe I am crazy but I love him.
