please don't scroll, especially if you know someone sensitive to caffeine!

i got curious about the whole spacey mcdonalds chain, and while skimming a pic of the menu i noticed something potentially concerning.

amid panera being sued over improperly disclosing caffeine information, surely mcdonalds wouldnt do the exact same thing. i genuinely hope not.

but i wonder, what does energy burst mean??

this is the listing on the website. if something has caffeine you'd expect it to be mentioned here. even if it doesnt say how much - which it should - an explicit mention of its presence is needed.

at the bottom of this page was nutrition info, so i checked that. nope!

(i used "berry" to show that the doc does pick up text, as that's not always the case with pdfs)

okay let's check allergens. i guess that's where caffeine is usually included.

finally some mention of caffeine. how much exactly? still no clue.

i also checked for pictures of the now built locations. and while it's difficult to make out, it's pretty clearly the menu i came across to begin with

McDonald’s is creating a restaurant brand called CosMc’s

McDonald’s is creating a new restaurant chain named CosMc’s. The name came from the McDonald's mascot who is an alien. This name appeared in Mcdonalds advertisements of the 80s and 90s. The story portrayed behind this alien was that he came from some outer space and craved McDonald's food.

McDonald's is a well-known fast food giant that is ready to expand its domain and enter into the restaurant business.

The official information stated that it will be available in only some places during early 2024 and gradually expand.

The core of this restaurant chain will stick to the McDonald's DNA but it will have a unique personality. This was mentioned by the CEO Chris Kempczinski. The food giant has released only a handful of information right now and plans to share more clarity on this in late December.

This is another venture by Mcdonald's after the Grimace of U.S. business, introduced in June with a purple milkshake offering combo meals. This got huge traffic on social media and increased its sales.

CosMc’s locations

This brand new spin-off restaurant chain is set to open its very first restaurant in Bolingbrook in December 2023. This is suspected to be a part of a test run to ensure the smooth flow of later ones. They are planning to open 10 CosMc's pilot locations by the end of the year 2024. These 10 locations will include Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, and other places.

CosMc’s menu

CosMc's menu is huge with a special focus on drinks and breakfasts. There are more than 10 new drinks from Sour Cherry Energy Slush, and Tropical Spice Made to S’mores Cold Brew. These drinks are not just coffees and lemonades but energy-booting beverages. Adding more flavors is in your hands because you are free to ask for some customization and make it all that you crave.

Not to forget the food menu. It has a range of flavors from Spicy Queso Sandwiches to Creamy Avocado Tomatillo Sandwich. The menu does not end here; it offers an array of options to choose from for your snacks or even sweet dishes.

The blueberry Lemon Cookie Sundae and Caramel Fudge Brownie are a must to try to satiate your sweet tooth.

But want delivery and ordering options? McDonald’s is set to offer a “seamless digital and Drive Thru experience,”. This means customers will be able to use constantly developing menu boards and online payment methods and a simple and fast online food ordering process that is seamless and even cashless. Drive-thru pickup windows will play the role of delivery partners who will be assigned after the placement of your order.
