So, I noticed Something.

Everybody knows that Lilith Clawthorne is the one who punched Phillip Wittebane and broke his nose, which permanently bent it into the shape that it is now.

Hence, Cool Aunt Lilith,

But, In Hollow Mind, when we see Phillip's memories of him reuniting with, and subsequently killing his brother, his nose isn't bent.

you can see it more clearly here,

So, by the time Lilith punches him, by the time he's found the Collector, Phillip has already murdered his brother and been cursed by his brother's girlfriend, (Wife?)

So, yeah. Phillip wasn't pushed into becoming Emperor Belos by his brother running off with a witch, and Phillip feeling the need to kill him, but by Lilith punching him in the nose and knocking him to the ground.

Do with this info what you will.

EDIT: I'm not blaming Lilith or saying that Phillip wasn't already on his way to Emperor Belos. I'm just saying that it wasn't Caleb's death that sent him over the edge. He was already so unstable that it only took a punch for him to cross the line completely. I'm trying to help establish the timeline of events.
