what kinds of food does Acedia and her boyfriends usually make or buy to eat? you can learn a lot about a person by what they've got in their fridge and pantry:

Acedia: boxes of pasta/noodles, jars of sauces, hotdogs, buns, bread, cans of chili and soup, lots of snacks. water (with flavor packets) and ginger ale are all she really drinks. most of these are relatively cheap. also blueberry bagels, rice, chicken, cheese, ham, and eggs. and milk. (she's often hungry, but knows how to make a few meals that sit heavy for awhile, good for the boosted metabolism she's got) probably eats the least healthy out of the group. on special occasions she'll have a bit of money saved up to get some better food. she likes to visit and eat out at the [Commodite Cafe], they have a lot of her favorite foods for a good price.

Beck: the basics, bread and milk (whatever is cheapest), but also plenty of coffee, any kind of bagel really (tends to favor cinnamon & raisin most), boxed or frozen meals (a tv dinner kind of guy.. not really by choice), occasionally he'll stock up on some ingredients to make him something special that he can have leftover for a couple of days that's more filling and healthier. he likes takeout, anything cheap and easy. he's a busy guy most of the time so he doesn't have the time to cook very often. but when he does, he's actually not too bad. has a few recipe books in a cabinet in the kitchen, his favorites have colored notes sticking out of the pages.

Otto: eats the healthiest out of the group and has all the basics when it comes to what fills his pantries. he makes the time to prepare his own meals. having the actuators helps a lot. he's not exactly a chef nor a baker, but he finds it quite pleasant and not too different from his usual work, making food for himself and all his pets. he's usually got a stocked fridge and freezer filled with stuff for him and his pets, too. he's got a few cabinets of snacks and treats. enjoys both coffee and tea, and enjoys a nice everything or cheesy bagel, depending on the time of day. ..he has a slight sweet tooth and does his best to refrain from eating too many chocolate/chip bagels, he's moved to occasionally getting a honey one instead.

i love how the utter tragedy of the third route of IS3 makes me retroactively appreciate the first routes ending even more. i already liked it, but now knowing Mizuki could have fucking died, him successfully saving highmore from the fate he couldn’t save skadi from, cheerfully chowing down on the remains of her seaborn body and then inviting her to come back with him to find a home at Rhodes Island like he did is so nice. Its what these kids deserve. That ending text was so right when it said peaceful everyday life is the greatest joy of all.

You should make a side blog for your ocs and post the link in your pinned post. That way you can separate your fandom page and your oc page and we can read about or interact with your characters. I’d love to hear more about your shark oc

Oooo that's a good idea!!! :D I'll have to consider it because having a separate blog for ocs would be a lot of fun!!

My shark mer oc is a Great White who hates humans because he's been in captivity for so long, and knowing that he'll likely live a much shorter lifespan in his enclosure has turned him rather cold and cynical. He goes through trainers nearly every month because he either kills them or scares them away. >_< but Reader is determined to do their job no matter how terrifying he may seem and eventually the two learn to tolerate each other after making a few compromises. He doesn't understand envy or other human emotions very well, but he definitely feels it whenever he watches Reader interacting with a coworker they seem particularly fond of. >:D

Throughout the majority of the wip, he's referred to as Jaws or Sharky because he refuses to give Reader his name and Reader has to call him something. T_T they bicker a lot, but then Reader learns he's fond of butterflies and birds and it's a cute fact that makes the mer seem not so dangerous or cold. <3

There are too many concepts and ocs in my drafts, so if I were to create a side blog there would be no shortage of characters to discuss!! >v<

Pro-tip—if ever you're looking at your writing and thinking, "this is boring, this isn't working, I hate this so much," snatch that feeling out of the air and look at it more closely, because 99% of the time that's your creative instincts trying to tell you there's something earlier in the scene that needs shaking up.

You are a fleshy meat vessel and your brain has been consuming media for actual years, and as such you have developed an unconscious, intuitive understanding of storytelling. Like with all intuitive feelings, your brain is constantly trying to convey these feelings to you in ways you can pick up on (think the hair rising on the back of your neck when your instincts are sensing something dangerous, same process!)

Let your instincts talk to you. They don't want to bully you, they just have an understanding of your story you yourself may not have picked up on yet. Maybe something this character said earlier just isn't hitting right. Maybe there's a different angle to their motivation you hadn't considered. Maybe your character wants to go an entirely different direction than what you had initially pictured and is trying to lead you there.

There's a piece of writing advice that goes, "If you're having a problem with a line, most of the time your actual problem is with the line just before it." And it's true! Go back. Suss out what isn't working for you. Never be afraid to completely uproot a scene if you're not happy with it, because I promise it is fixable, and the end result will always be better than if you had tried to force your way through it. Writing should never feel like yanking teeth—that's your creative instincts rattling the bars of their cage, baby! Let! Them! Out!

Trust your instincts, because you are a naturally creative person with a story to share and they want to help you make it.
