I've talked about how names in the Riordanverse have power and how Zeus chose Lester's name to reduce his power. Now it's notable what Lester's name actually means. In English, the name Lester derives from Leicester which means fortified place (additional reference). Some sources say the name meaning originates from campers on the river Legra. In Latin the name Lester means legion's camp. I'm sure I don't need to go into detail about this since the meaning's relation to Apollo is already pretty obvious. Lester, the name, is a reference to Camp Half-Blood/Camp Jupiter. Zeus' way of telling Apollo that he is no more important than those demigods at the camps and that camp is where he now belongs, not Olympus.
Papadopoulos means son of a priest. Zeus isn't exactly a priest, but he is certainly a high up religious figure who priests worshipped. Papadopoulos is a reminder to Apollo that he is and always will be Zeus son regardless of whether he's Lester or not. It's Zeus' way of saying that Lester is his property.
Also, Papadopoulos is the most common Greek surname. It's how Zeus tells Apollo that he's no longer special, he's just another mortal -- a commoner whose only notable attribute (in Zeus' opinion) is his father.
It was so easy to take his love for granted. He gave easily, even what he didn't have or wasn't his to give, and she loved him for it. She did. She really did.
His love was comfortable, a well worn blanket on a cold day, a hearth at the heart of their home, a lulluby before going to sleep. His love was always there, unconditional and endless, like a lighthouse perpetually lit to guide her back home.
She should have seen his pain. She should have known that the love he gave her had to come from somewhere. He would have given her his heart, his lungs, his eyes if he thought she wanted them, let alone needed them. He gave and gave and gave until there was nothing else to give and then he still gave her more.
She should have noticed the pieces that seemed to go missing, should have noticed his spark slowly dimming, should have seen his pain and, for once, be the one to give him comfort, love, acceptance, care. If she had, maybe he would still be there. If she had, maybe he wouldn't have left.
