Hello comic artists! :D
I would like to extend to other webcomic artists a reason to self-promote themselves and their comics!
I've made some templates you can fill out, choose whichever you feel vibes the best with you! or make your own! Whichever! Edit them as you please. Add/remove stuff. Extend the format, do what you want!
DONT FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE TO USE THE HASHTAGS IN THERE!! I put them in there mainly as suggestions or fillers!! If you have your own hashtag, use that!! :D
Sane goes for the "comic artist central" header! Use whatever you like! Logo for your comic, your name, anything!
I think it can be a little difficult sometimes to know where I'm supposed to look for comics. I always come across comics by accident, so I thought why not make happy accidents easier to find?
A central would be nice! Some kind of hashtag- though there's like... a sea of hashtags out there... :(
But I'm not discouraged. Where there's a will there is a way! (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑
I'm going to use the #comicartistcentral hashtag for this templete. :') So if you want to see other comic artists, go to that hashtag!
Or just use this as an excuse to self-promote yourself and your comic! :P <33 You don't even have to use the templates, lol!
I just think people should promote themselves more!! It's the wild west out there.
Don't forget to link where people can read you comic, too!! :D

Happy Micro Comic Summer everyone! i've been hard at work prepping the next style test / mini comic for Mind or Matter, and got it done on time to release as part of the challenge! This is the backstory of Jo and Casimir Lena, a tale of hubris, poor communication, and grief. In the comic proper during the first art we're gonna delve deep into the fallout of these events, but for now, here's a little sneak peek of what's to come, as well as a style exploration of some of the more artistic-y choices I intend to make with the comic proper!
Currently I'm shooting for late fall/early winter as the launch date for comic, so be sure to follow for more updates on pre-production if you liked this mini-comic, because i'm SUPER excited to get started with the full thing, and right here on this tumblr blog is the current best place to follow to keep up with the comic!

Happy Webcomics Day everyone!!! today's the day where i wildly gesture to my big work in progress project that i am gunning to begin the prologue on by the end of the summer!!! (this is subject to change especially because I am planning on doing artfight this year.) alas, i am trapped in location design hell and have so many places to design before i can properly start, so for now y'all get a pitch, a poster, and some style tests!
i've been reblogging content from the official blog, @mind-or-matter for a while now, and if you haven't already you should totally go follow it for progress updates, concept art and character designs, and an askblog to tide you over if you wanna interact with the cast and get to know them more!!! it's a fun time!
Now what IS mind or matter all about? glad you asked! Mind or Matter is a DnD-Inspired (and by that I mean it's directly based off of 2 DnD games of mine) fantasy webcomic about 3 college age students, Penny, Zenith, and Chronicle, who end up drifting apart from their once close friendship in high school and get thrown into a multiverse-spanning adventure that calls their dynamic into question!
The comic follows two parallel plots, Mindfarers, and Event Horizon! Mindfarers follows Penny, a dragonborn wizard who's hired as an intern at the Mindfarer headquarters stationed in Nexus, the crossroads city of interconnectivity between the known multiverse - they dive into various people's internal mindscapes, helping them work through their internal struggles through visualized metaphor!
Meanwhile, Event Horizon follows Zenith, a thoughtborn paladin recruited to travel across the astral sea on a small spacefaring ship with their newfound ragtag found family, fighting various space monsters and investigating a wider mystery that may be more intertangled with her friends back home than she'd like to think. Chronicle, the third member of their former friend group, remains at home in college, desperately wishing for a return to what she remembers as normalcy.
Mind or Matter is rated T for cursing, depictions of mental health and various traumatic events, and occasional dips into psychological and surreal horror- this comic is primarily about mental health and it'll visualize it!!
Follow the official tumblr or my main blog for more updates on concept art and eventual release dates! i'm really hoping the prologue can be started by the end of summer but with Various Life Things and the truly ABSURD amount of locations i need to design for arc 1 (and also being an art student) i gotta take things at my own pace!

Mind or Matter: Mini-Comic 2 - Self Expression and Self Exhaustion (PLUS ANNOUNCEMENT)
The second style test/mini comic for MiOrMa is here! This time around I wanted to do a longer test than the previous one, and try plotting out a sustained conversation between two characters with more minimal backgrounds than style test 1, focusing on screen direction, keeping dialogue scenes visually interesting, and efficiency in less complex scenes! I'd say considering how fast I speedran this, that it was a success!
This mini-comic takes place somewhere around arcs 4-5, after some character development has happened for one Jackie Verumie. I haven't put a lot of post-development content for them on this blog yet, as I wanna maintain an air of surprise and investment in reading the comic proper, even if you know where the character ends up, the journey is more important than specific detail spoilers!
Honestly this was kind of the perfect comic to round out pride month with, it's an incredibly queer narrative (hence my extensive use of genderfluid lighting), and I think despite this comic being filled with queer characters, Jackie is the one that fundamentally hits queer themes the most. Happy pride month!!

AAAND for the little bit of an announcement!
Unfortunately, concept work on MiOrMa will be slightly delayed. In the immediate future, I'm going on vacation for the next week! And, when I get back, I'm starting a new job for the summer! Additionally, for the month of July, I'm going to be doing Artfight! My username is Anatthema, if you'd like to follow me, I have almost all of the MiOrMa characters that actually belong to me on there! (I'm working on adding the rest of mine soon) All of this combined means that the projected estimate for the comic starting at the end of the summer is likely incorrect, as I still have a large amount of concept art to do, and my next month is going to be pretty loaded, but hopefully since I have a very light courseload first semester in school, my goal is to get the ball rolling some time in my first semester! (Gunning for October since it's the anniversary of me starting pre-production! I will keep yall updated on that one based on estimated post-artfight)

Hey. Do you support women's wrongs? Love it when they are allowed to be brutal in a fight? Does a full LGBTQ+ cast with an emphasis on sapphics and an asexual protagonist sound appealing? Ever wish shonens were queer and not mysoginistic and also about girls and genderpunks?!
Check out Phototaxis of a Fighter, a comic about, well, fighting, but also found family, unmedicated horror and loving life in spiteful ways.
My favorite totally serious reviews include:
