Activists in Tasmania have stuck up more honest promo stickers inside Coles & Woolworths stores, the two dominant supermarket chains in Australia.

Demand the end of the supermarket duopoly!
We only have a few days to demand meaningful change in Australia's unjust grocery sector, with submissions to the inquiry closing on 2 February.1
Together, we need to seize this moment. Otherwise, we risk sending a dangerous signal to the supermarket duopoly and other corporations cashing in on the cost-of-living crisis that they can continue profiting from our struggles without consequences.

my friend had a dream that she was in Coles (Australian supermarket) with some of her friends, and she got separated from her friends, then she found them trapped in a freezer but then she saw Michael Sheen, in a Coles uniform and was like "Michael sheen? what are you doing in Australia? working at coles??" and he said "oh David Tennant's doing some filming for Doctor Who in Australia, I'm here for moral support, and i needed a job" and she was like "ok wow, can you help me get my friends out of the freezer?" and so they went to the freezer, they got her friends out, then Michael turned into aziraphale and ascended through the ceiling.

love finding out that the duopoly in australia between competing supermarkets have higher profit margins than WALMART in the US. and that these profits are WORLD LEADING. like it is Bad. a 2kg (4.4lb) bag of pre washed potatoes used to be $4.50 AUD last year and now I'm having to buy more this arvo for $7.50 AUD. ughhhhhhhh I hate living like this. prices have gone up by over double with no end in sight, and my government income has stayed the same. I only "earn" $573 a fortnight. it's not enough for Anyone, especially for a disabled person.

Surprise! Prices are going up while profit margins increase! A relatively ethical system would reduce the profit margin, a less ethical one would keep the profit margin steady during times like these. But no, they're actually making more money than ever before while people struggle to afford the basics. Absolute fucking scum.

i hate you big supermarkets that split similar products into new aisles so that customers have to wander around like frustrated rats in a maze, and shame customers for using plastic bags when that's what you give them then charge through the nose for reusable bags, all while trapping fresh produce in unnecessary environmentally harmful nylon netting, and raking in record profits in the billions through price gauging that sees families starve.
