Coal kills.
It has been said that the only thing worse than coal… is no coal. Happily, we have a fully satisfactory alternative.
Nuclear power will kill the coal industry… if we let it!

incidentally i would get the alchemists to respect me because I know how to synthesise mauveine. and they would absolutely not care that i am a quadruple scorpio who disrespects the great work and has stolen their secrets because oh three dicked elf jesus we will all be so fucking rich if the local equivalent of the byzantine aristocracy doesn't have us all executed for purple crimes

cw // spoilers for episode 24, mentions of drowning
*the party falls into hostile merfolk-infested waters*
Kremy: “As we’re going down, I’m desperately clawing on Gideon, and dragging him down hoping that he’ll save me.”
Gideon: “I would be like- reaching out towards Kremy.”
Kremy Lecroux, a lizardfolk who could easily survive a situation such as this (under normal circumstances), instead of relying on natural instincts, immediately puts the trust of his own life into Gideon’s hands. His first instinct when in danger in the first place is to seek for Gideon, fully believing he could be protected by him.
Gideon Coal, a fire genasi with water being one of his greatest weakpoints, instead of figuring out some sorta compromise and focus on getting out first, reaches for Kremy. He is his first priority, self-preservation be damned.
These husbands make me sick. /pos

“Don’t worry, sweetheart, I’m not going to kill you.” Whumper whispered, crouching down by Whumpee’s side. Their gaze softened with pity, a sliver of guilt twisting their chest as they reached up to cup their captive’s tearstained cheek. “No, you’re much too valuable to lose.”

The German post office has been producing a series of stamps of “Sights worth seeing in Germany”. One of these stamps, released in January of this year, at the rate for letters to be sent out of the country, commmemorated… a closed coal mine.
The new special postage stamp series, whose aim is to present important cultural or technical achievements as well as places, landscapes or regions and special buildings worth seeing, continues with … “Zeche Zollverein”, giving a vivid impression of the diversity of the sights in Germany.
Essen, the former largest mining town in Europe, captivates countless visitors from all over the world year after year. The Zollverein Coal Mine, located here and closed for several decades, is one of the most remarkable industrial monuments in Germany and a technical and aesthetic masterpiece of the modern era.
We dare suggest that Germany’s nuclear power stations are far more interesting visually and technologically, and more worthy of commemoration. Indeed, the scenic appeal of Essen is summarized in a standard German joke, “If this is Essen (eating), I don’t want to see Brechen (vomiting)”.

Should not be feeling prideful abt the fact that I treat housekeeping staff like Actual Human Beings unlike MOST of my office and therefore I got to hear all about her kids and was shyly asked if I could help design & print smthn bc her kids are coming home from college, but like, I AM, this is my crowning achievement at work but really it should just be like. The baseline of human decency. And YET.
Not to be like We Live In A Society but :/

Was it worth it to be happy for a little bit, even through It ended up sad
or would it have been better if the whole thing never happened?
But Hozier say
I TELL EM PUT ME BACK IN IT
Darling, I would do it again,
If I could hold you for a minute
Darling, I'd go through it again,

I am never not thinking about Raylan Givens explaining the messy awful mixture of knowing and understanding and empathizing and unbreakable connection between him and Boyd Crowder with-
“We used to dig coal together.”
