1. Alright, I’m in need of some help finding a fic! I remember a few things but haven’t been able to find it yet in my history and I apparently didn’t bookmark it like a dumbass! Anyway, I remember that it was canon divergent around the time of Sunshot, I remember that JZX is stabby because he’s half Yu and they’re the clan where you have to be inventive as well as stabby to earn your place? The Yunmeng trio go to Meishan to get help and I believe Yanli is sect leader so it might be a no golden core transfer fic? The thing I remember most is that JZX kills Wen Xu himself (with a poison knife?), and the intricacy of the traps you have to work through in order to get into Meishan territory. 14. hello! this is for the fic finder, there was this fic I remember specifically bc of one scene with jc. essentially, there was a little girl that fell into a lake in lp, while her mother was busy doing smth on a boat?? it was harvest season, I think. I remember that both jc and wwx fell into the lake to find the little one and what made me remember that fic was that jc lit up the whole lake with zidian. I don't remember much, but I remember some scenes. The idea of the story was something like if you can't beat them, join them to your sect. WWX doesn't create the Wei sect, but everyone seems to think so. Meng Yao gets locked up in Yilling and becomes something like the administrator of WWX. NHS has an information network and gives everyone a messenger bird except WWX and WWX makes a dead bird serve him. A crow, I think. I think NHS also brings them food and helps improve the town. And I also think he makes the design of Wei Ying's sect's robes.

I don't remember more, but I know that I really liked the Fic and it was long.

I just wanted to talk a little about these three dumbasses, and what a complete disaster trio they're displayed as during the Cloud Recesses days, and how it's meant to act as a foil for the people there were shortly to become.

We all know the shenanigans they got up to, and the shortcomings of them all; the untamed genius, the emotionally stunted heir, the lazy fop; and despite this you're looking at the people who achieved the greatest feats of their generation.

One resurrected a sect from near-decimation to become one of the most powerful in the land in a single decade, one brought into being an entirely new type of cultivation that arguably won the Sunshot Campaign against the Wens, and the other schemed and achieved a stunningly elaborate revenge plot against the most powerful man in the cultivational world.

And every single one of them did it in total isolation. Strong, silent, and alone.

And what a foil for the venerated triad these stupid little boys are meant to be.

Three war heroes from the three most powerful sects of the time, the hope of a generation. Three men who couldn't change, couldn't bend, couldn't adapt themselves, and who ended in tragedy, ripped apart by their own sworn brotherhood.

And these three boys who started from tragedy, shouldered the burdens left to them and did what needed doing, entirely by themselves.

Did any of them grow as people? Absolutely not, MDZS is most definitely not a story about personal growth; its a story about war and politics, power and corruption, and people doing what they thought needed to be done, and all the reasons that might be so: personal codes (Wei Wuxian), duty and responsibility (Jiang Cheng) and revenge (Nie Huaisang).

Ironically those are motivating factors we see reflected in the 3zun too, but with very different outcomes.

Although that only stands to the end of the book, who knows what would happen in the future?

Was Wei Wuxian happy by the end of the book? Short term? Yes, Wangxian got the riding off into the sunset, but Wei Wuxian's trauma has trauma, and trauma doesn't just vanish for a happily ever after.

Nie Huaisang? Revenge is sweet, but after devoting yourself to that kind of darkness for so many years, after isolating yourself and eating, breathing, sleeping your revenge, what can possibly come next in life?

Jiang Cheng? Destroyed by the core reveal and struggling with the knowledge that he's in Wei Wuxian's debt, and shadow, once again. What did his own sacrifice mean if it just caused Wei Wuxian suffering in a different way? It would be no surprise if Jiang Cheng is feeling an immense amount of guilt, like he is the reason Wei Wuxian suffered as he did, because of the core loss. All those old insecurities rising back to the surface. He couldn't even save his Shixiong in the end.

Obviously it really isn't that simple in reality, but those kinds of emotions don't really care about that. Guilt isn't always logical, and we know how much Jiang Cheng loves Wei Wuxian.

It's fair to say none of the three have an easy immediate post canon future coming up.

Jiang Cheng: I thought you'd be all over pranking your husband on April fool's day?

Wei Wuxian: I am! But I agreed to not prank Lan Zhan for a while after what happened last year.

Nie Huaisang: Why? What happened?

Wei Wuxian: I got a bunch of baby bunnies and pretended our bunnies gave birth to them overnight. They filled almost the whole living room!

Nie Huaisang: Both of your rabbits are male.

Wei Wuxian: Exactly!

Jiang Cheng: I'd be pissed too, where'd you even get that many?

Wei Wuxian: Oh, he wasn't angry. I actually borrowed them from Wen Ning's uncle's friend's farm, so I had to bring them back. Lan Zhan pouted for weeks after he realized we couldn't keep them. Which is why I can't prank him, I'd feel guilty.

Nie Huaisang: He uses that to get you to go to bed early or something, doesn't he?

Wei Wuxian: Yes! He looks so sad when he brings it up. How could I possibly deny him?

Me and my friend made a mdzs prompt in the middle of the night and it came out much cooler than i thought when i read back on it in the morning. We both write but we have zero motivation so you may use this if you like it.

Anyways, the story revolves around Nie Huaisang, Wei Wuxian, and Jiang Cheng because we want badass Caiyi Trio. Our trio was helping an old woman in her house in Caiyi but ended up in a dungeon kinda thing where they face some challenges. Those challenges being:

The gang facing a pair of undead corpse but they all just ended up being a married couple that died in the cave and looking for their daughter who was also dead somewhere in the cave. It was Wwx to suggest they listen to the corpse because he heard them cry for their daughter.

Wwx and Jc falling in a maze, a boulder chasing them (chasing, as in it has a sense of direction and actually wants to flat their ass) with nhs on a high platform. In front of him is a some sort of tablet that shows the whole architecture of the maze. Nhs ended up saving them.

And lastly, a group of rabidd wolves chasing wwx. Wwx was scared af but he wants to just yeet himself to the wolves so nhs and jc could survive but jc said fuck no and let one of the wolf bite him instead, saving wwx in the process. Later found out the wolves need them because a female wolf was having a hard time giving birth.

After all those, they came into a room full of treasure. You know the drill, wwx chooses a flute, jc a whip (it's actually supposed to be a rope but let him have his thing, and, of course, nhs with his fan.

Later, they woke up in cloud recesses.

Now this is where the fun part begins.

A few days later, Wwx just woke up and suddenly he can see ghosts. How did he find out? His parents are sitting in front of him (although they're a little bit transparent). Jc and nhs thinks he's crazy but he insisted till they believe him. Oh, he could see Lan Furen as well. (Lwj saw him drawing instead of writing his punishment but ended up seeing his mother's face in wwx's drawing. Tbf tho, wwx doesn't she's Lan Furen.)

Then Nhs can have visions. My friend suggested we should use sand (nice symbolism since nie's are like– the ground, but nhs is like a flimsy ground so he's sand lmao) as his way of seeing the future. If he'll see a vision, he would hear sand pouring. Or if he looks at sand, there's just small visions. And of course, this is how they see the future war too. However, nhs's vision is not perfect so they only see glimpse of it.

Now jc. Look at our dude just insecure an all because his brother and friends have their cool powers but he has none. Then suddenly a weed in the corner just went, "henlo:D!". Yeah. Jc talks to plants. Not just plants tho, like the whole ass nature (aka every living thing).

So yeah! The bois have different abilities and such. We based these off of what could represent them. Like Wwx is death, Nhs with time, and Jc with Nature (wanted it to be human but kinda went meh).
