Things Biden and the Democrats did, this week #20
May 24-31 2024
The EPA awards $900 million to school districts across the country to replace diesel fueled school buses with cleaner alternatives. The money will go to 530 school districts across nearly every state, DC, tribal community, and US territory. The funds will help replace 3,400 buses with cleaner alternatives, 92% of the new buses will be 100% green electric. This adds to the $3 billion the Biden administration has already spent to replace 8,500 school buses across 1,000 school districts in the last 2 years.
For the first time the federal government released guidelines for Voluntary Carbon Markets. Voluntary Carbon Markets are a system by which companies off set their carbon emissions by funding project to fight climate change like investing in wind or solar power. Critics have changed that companies are using them just for PR and their funding often goes to projects that would happen any ways thus not offsetting emissions. The new guidelines seek to insure integrity in the Carbon Markets and make sure they make a meaningful impact. It also pushes companies to address emissions first and use offsets only as a last resort.
The IRS announced it'll take its direct file program nationwide in 2025. In 2024 140,000 tax payers in 12 states used the direct file pilot program and the IRS now plans to bring it to all Americans next tax season. Right now the program is only for simple W-2 returns with no side income but the IRS has plans to expand it to more complex filings in the future. This is one of the many projects at the IRS being funded through President Biden's Inflation Reduction Act.
The White House announced steps to boost nuclear energy in America. Nuclear power in the single largest green energy source in the country accounting for 19% of America's total energy. Boosting Nuclear energy is a key part of the Biden administration's strategy to reach a carbon free electricity sector by 2035. The administration has invested in bring the Palisades nuclear plant in Michigan back on-line, and extending the life of Diablo Canyon in California. In addition the Military will be deploying new small modular nuclear reactors and microreactors to power its installations. The Administration is setting up a task force to help combat the delays and cost overruns that have often derailed new nuclear projects and the Administration is supporting two Gen III+ SMR demonstration projects to highlight the safety and efficiency of the next generation of nuclear power.
The Department of Agriculture announced $824 million in new funding to protect livestock health and combat H5N1. The funding will go toward early detection, vaccine research, and supporting farmers impacted. The USDA is also launching a nation wide Dairy Herd Status Pilot Program, hopefully this program will give us a live look at the health of America's dairy herd and help with early detection. The Biden Administration has reacted quickly and proactively to the early cases of H5N1 to make sure it doesn't spread to the human population and become another pandemic situation.
The White House announced a partnership with 21 states to help supercharge America's aging energy grid. Years of little to no investment in America's Infrastructure has left our energy grid lagging behind the 21st century tech. This partnership aims to squeeze all the energy we can out of our current system while we rush to update and modernize. Last month the administration announced a plan to lay 100,000 miles of new transmission lines over the next five years. The 21 states all with Democratic governors are Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Washington, and Wisconsin.
The Department of Transportation announced $343 million to update 8 of America's oldest and busiest transportation stations for disability accessibility. These include the MBTA's the Green Line's light-rail B and C branches in Boston,  Cleveland's Blue Line, New Orleans'  St. Charles Streetcar route, and projects in San Francisco and New York City and other locations
The Department of interior announced two projects for water in Western states. $179 million for drought resilience projects in California and Utah and $242 million for expanding water access in California, Colorado and Washington. The projects should help support drinking water for 6.4 million people every year.
HUD announced $150 million for affordable housing for tribal communities. This adds to the over $1 billion dollars for tribal housing announced earlier in the month. Neil Whitegull of the Ho-Chunk Nation said at the announcement "I know a lot of times as Native Americans we've been here and we've seen people that have said, ‘Oh yeah, we'd like to help Indians.’ And they take a picture and they go away. We never see it, But there's been a commitment here, with the increase in funding, grants, and this administration that is bringing their folks out. And there's a real commitment, I think, to Native American tribes that we've never seen before."
Secretary of State Antony Blinken pledged $135 million to help Moldavia. Since the outbreak of Russia's war against neighboring Ukraine the US has given $774 million in aid to tiny Moldavia. Moldavia has long been dependent on Russian energy but thanks to US investment in the countries energy security Moldavia is breaking away from Russia and moving forward with EU membership.
The US and Guatemala launched the "Youth With Purpose” initiative. The initiative will be run through the Central America Service Corps, launched in 2022 by Vice President Harris the CASC is part of the Biden Administration's efforts to improve life in Central America. The Youth With Purpose program will train 25,000 young Guatemalans and connect with with service projects throughout the country.
Bonus: Today, May 31st 2024, is the last day of the Affordable Connectivity Program. The program helped 23 million Americans connect to the internet while saving them $30 to $75 dollars every month. Despite repeated calls from President Biden Republicans in Congress have refused to act to renew the program. The White House has worked with private companies to get them to agree to extend the savings to the end of 2024. The Biden Administration has invested $90 Billion high-speed internet investments. Such as $42.45 billion for Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment, $1 billion for the The Middle Mile program laying 12,000 miles of regional fiber networks, and distributed nearly 30,000 connected devices to students and communities, including more than 3,600 through the Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program

According to the World Resources Institute, the number of electric school buses operating or delivered in the United States more than doubled—from 598 in 2022 to 1,285 through June 2023—all driven to serve school children while providing cleaner air in 40 states.
Looking into the near future, the number of electric school buses that were already funded or on-order nearly tripled, and were spread across districts located in 49 states.
The emissions-free buses are found in 914 U.S. school districts and private fleet operators, according to the evidence-based nonprofit’s report published in September, 2023: State of Electric School Bus Adoption in the US.
Tumblr media
California leads all states, with over 2,000 committed electric buses across the sprawling territory. This is more than five times as many EV buses as the next leading state, Maryland, with 391 commitments.
New Jersey has the second largest increase with 107 new buses, while West Virginia has the third largest increase with 42 new commitments. The updated data shows electric school bus commitments are now more evenly distributed across all regions of the country.
The Top 5 School Districts by Number of Electric School Buses are:
Montgomery County Public Schools (Maryland)
Los Angeles Unified School District
New York City Public Schools
Twin Rivers Unified School District (California)
Troy Community Consolidated School District (Illinois)
“We estimate approximately 69,000 students across the country are currently served by electric school buses that are delivered or in operation,” said the report authors, Lydia Freehafer, Leah Lazer, and Brian Zepka.
Zero pollution from tailpipes while buses are idling or driving means the students, staff, and community will be exposed to significantly less harmful air particulates that contribute to asthma and lung disease. The environment also benefits from reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
The federal government’s Clean School Bus Program, administered by the Environmental Protection Agency, is one of the biggest funders of these vehicles, having awarded 2,339 electric school buses—with more on the way.

I was recently surprised to see this livery while boarding, and snapped a pic. Apparently enough people asked the crew questions to the effect of "Why is the plane yellow?" as we were boarding that the captain explained it during his take off announcements. Turns out we were on 'New Mexico One' (N8655D).
Maybe they were worried they accidentally got on a Spirit flight. Happens to the best of us. (Also, knowing pilots I think there's a legitimate chance he was excited about it himself and would have brought it up no matter what.)
Tumblr media
This is your girl! This is actually New Mexico 1.2.0 - the New Mexico One livery is the fifth Southwest state livery, and one of the first special liveries they had full stop.
Southwest Airlines has had a lot of special liveries. The documentation is incomplete, but they have a timeline for them up to 2013 publicly available. It turns out there were at least three Shamu jets (unfortunately I cannot find the purported pictures of Herb Kelleher in a penguin suit), and that my guess was right - their first state-themed livery was a Texas one to commemorate their origin as an intrastate carrier.
Since then, they've released quite a few more in honor of some of their more-served or milestone states. The states with special liveries are Arizona; California; Colorado; Florida; Hawai'i; Illinois; Louisiana; Maryland; Missouri; Nevada; New Mexico; Tennessee; and of course Texas. These really vary in level of detail and inspiration, and I definitely have no desire or plans to do a massive joint post on them all. That is thirteen liveries. But there's one or two that have been hanging out on the distant fringes of my interest and one (Colorado One) has already been requested, so if anyone particularly wants to see any of them covered just know I am treating them as full, separate, self-contained liveries even though they're technically sort of a set. It just doesn't make any sense to do it any other way.
(I never want to see a Massachusetts One. The concept is actively repellant to me.)
Most of Southwest's special liveries have 'one' at the end, like Air Force One, you know, it's the famous plane, Air Force One, they made a film about it with Harrison Ford in. I do think hypothetically the implication of 'New Mexico One' would be a plane transporting the governor of New Mexico, but, well, that's their name scheme.
Tumblr media
image: Southwest Airlines
This is the original New Mexico One, N781WN. Thanks to the information Southwest provides on its website for once I know the exact date a livery was debuted - 18th September, 2000. I'm not sure how to feel about the fact that this picture is younger than me, because it looks incredibly crunchy and vintage, like it couldn't have been taken later than 1985. I have a Polaroid SX-70 that was kept in working condition by a relative and it takes cleaner-looking pictures. It must have been taken very early on in the livery's lifetime because when Canyon Blue was introduced the tailfin was updated to match. As with all Southwest's special liveries - the tailfins remain untouched from the default.
Tumblr media

The initial iteration with the mustard-yellow and red tail looks very nice, seamless with the main body. Although the placement of the name on the fin is quite subdued and against the ethos of the low-cost carrier it is in the case of special liveries useful, making the interaction of the wordmark with the main design a non-issue. Part of me really wishes that they'd kept the old colors for longer or maybe even done custom schemes for the stripes on each of their special liveries, because the blue looks pretty out-of-place on the New Mexico livery. I'll be completely honest, I also think the older, more angular shape of the stripes suits the similarly geometric bulk of the design while the modern incarnation - the haphazardly placed little wordmark with no natural home on the tail, the fin which looks like it was removed from a wholly different plane - is just sort of generally worse than the original state. The use of a minimally-altered tailfin with a crammed-on wordmark does seem to be something about which Southwest is unwilling to negotiate, though, and I guess that's what I'm going to have to live with.
(...generally, I do have to live with all the liveries I discuss here, until the magical day that someone at a massive company decides that the opinions of a blog with under 1,000 followers are something they want to capitulate to.)
Tumblr media
The basis of the livery is extremely straightforward. It's...the flag of New Mexico. This is a fantastic starting point. The New Mexico flag is my favorite of the US states' - though, to be fair, that's damning by faint praise in the extreme. Just based on the sorts of people I've met I feel like at least a few followers of this blog will have particularly vivid opinions about vexillology, but it doesn't take someone with the level of investment I have in liveries to know that most US state flags are just absurdly poorly designed. New Mexico's flag is not just acceptable but good.
Yellow and red aren't uncommon colors in flags, but the complete absence of very popular choices like blue and white definitely is striking. Unlike many US state flags, which are morasses of complex and jumbled iconography, it contains only one image - the sun symbol of the indigenous Zia (Tsi’ya) Pueblo group. Unfortunately, not only was the design not suggested by Zia individuals but it was used without the group's knowledge or consent, and there has been an ongoing discussion about this being properly acknowledged by the state - a good summary, albeit from 2012, is this El Palacio article written by the Zia Pueblo administrator.
I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Southwest actually did consult the Zia, including administrator and author of the above article Peter Pino. A contemporary news release from Southwest even discusses Zia children performing a Crow Dance as part of the ceremony. I was able to find a photograph of this in a blog post by a Southwest employee.
Tumblr media
So safe to say people were pretty excited about this livery! Southwest's state liveries tend to be pretty beloved by the people from said state, as far as I can tell.
Tumblr media
N781WN was retired earlier this year and sometime in the late summer the livery was repainted onto N8655D. The livery is largely unchanged except for the fact that it's on a longer plane now.
Anyway, I like New Mexico One. Not terribly much happens here in the way of detail so there's not much to say about it but I like the way it's placed at a sort of angle instead of just smacked in the middle of the plane directly above the wings or something. The fact that there's some yellow and red in the tail prevents it from looking as bad as it could (and definitely does on other state liveries) even though I kind of really genuinely dislike the wordmark placement like a lot. I'm not sure how they could have done it better. I just think if you're making it that small and out-of-the-way you could honestly just go without. Not like there's even one other plane flying around with this livery.
Why is the inside of the winglets totally bare? I can't be the only one that thinks that's strange, can I?
I'll give her a C+. I think there's a pretty low ceiling on how good a livery that's just the flag of New Mexico can be, and Southwest did a job I would call 'correct' - they didn't really mess anything up and they didn't have some sort of brain explosion that let them create a design more captivating than putting a good flag onto an airplane but leaving the tail Southwest colors. This is a good special livery and it seems like a nice little tribute to New Mexico, and it's always nice to see a beloved old livery be preserved on a new airframe. Congratulations to the people of New Mexico, particularly the Zia, on a pretty neat commemorative livery.

New Jersey officials announced Tuesday that the state would be joining a growing list of Democrat-led states slated to ban the sale of new gas-powered vehicles by 2035.
New Jersey becomes at least the 17th state to follow some or all of California’s Advanced Clean Cars II rule that was passed by a regulatory board in the summer of 2022. Democratic Governor Phil Murphy said the move will help “lower emissions and improve air quality,” claiming that the new rule will also “preserve consumer choice.”
“The steps we take today to lower emissions will improve air quality and mitigate climate impacts for generations to come, all while increasing access to cleaner car choices,” Murphy said in a press release. “Indeed, together with my Administration’s continuing investments in voluntary electric vehicle incentives, charging infrastructure, and the green economy, these new standards will preserve consumer choice and promote affordability for hardworking New Jerseyans across the state.”
The Garden State joins California, Vermont, Washington, Oregon, Massachusetts, Virginia, Rhode Island, Maryland, and Connecticut in committing to implement the complete ban on new gas-powered vehicles, The Hill reported. The ban will not affect gas-powered vehicles already owned or the sale of used gas-powered vehicles.

Linda Smith & Nancy Andrews — A Passing Cloud (Grapefruit/Gertrude Tapes)
Tumblr media
A Passing Cloud by Linda Smith & Nancy Andrews
Linda Smith
A Passing Cloud is the first new music in over 20 years by ur-home-taper Linda Smith, reunited after even longer with her old bandmate, Nancy Andrews. In the late 1980s, Smith stood out as a rare female participant in the mostly male home-taped music scene that preceded the early 1990s international pop underground. Her CD releases on Feel Good All Over and Harriet placed her alongside Stuart Moxham as an example of what many artists recording for K and other such imprints wanted to become. Her music was informed by the emotional and sonic contours of 1960s AM radio pop, filtered through the sense of possibility and acceptance of untutored skills sparked by groups like the Raincoats, crafted using simple tools and sold in shoebox-sized quantities to like-minded, home-made music fans. Smith swapped music-making for painting in 2001, but a couple of compilations of old tracks have kept her sounds circulating.
Even before Smith started four-tracking, she was in bands. During a mid-1980s sojourn in New York, she and house-mate Nancy Andrews were in one called the Woods. They parted ways as creative partners when Smith discovered home-taping and Andrews pursued other arts, but remained friends. Music reentered the equation in 2020, when Smith made a proposal to resume working together after she was taken anew by some of their old work while cleaning out her old tape drawers during a COVID-mandated year off from her day job. They sent files back and forth between Maine, where Andrews now lives, and Maryland, for a couple years, and completed A Passing Cloud in 2022, thirty years after their last recording together.
In some respects, the album’s 12 songs feel quite rooted in the music they made back in the day. Their singing is unaffected and effects-free, born upon guitar licks that owe an undeniable debt to the third Velvet Underground album. However, drum programming and recording options being what they can be nowadays for anyone who owns a computer, the rhythms are a bit more assertive, the sound mix cleaner and more separate.
More significantly, there’s a clarity of intent about this music, a sense that its makers were consciously trying to see what new place it might take them. Andrews and Smith  kickstarted their songwriting process by cribbing lines from the former’s collection of detective paperbacks, which they used to generate stories more concerned with the manipulation of characters than the resolution of crimes. “How Could I Know” recounts a series of descriptive details about a woman, following by the question, “How could I know?” Not only does the repeated phrase make a nice hook, it drives home the message that the questioner really did know the protagonist, which in turn sets the listener on a course of making up their own stories about that relationship. Loops of dialogue sampled from some old movie abstracts melodrama into something more opaque on “The Whispering Cup,” and “Spare Me The Details” reimagines the sound of early mersh Residents as a vehicle for a couple of unabashedly older woman to pleasantly sing about giving no fucks. The music on A Passing Cloud may reference past methods and styles, but they feed an authentically present-centered process of creation. It turns out that that bedroom pop aesthetic has legs that can go the distance.

Omero C. Catan on Jan. 26, 1957, when he was the first motorist on the Florida Turnpike.Credit...via HistoryMiami Museum
“This is the greatest achievement of my life,” Omero C. Catan declared in 1937, on becoming the first toll-paying driver through the Lincoln Tunnel, the newly opened artery linking New York to New Jersey. “There will never be another like it.”
In fact, there would be hundreds more: Throughout most of the 20th century, when a major public-works project arose in New York and beyond — a bridge, a tunnel, an airport, a subway line — Catan, a Brooklyn-born vacuum cleaner salesman, made it his mission to beat all comers onto, into, across or through it.
He was the first person to ride the Madison Avenue bus when that route replaced the old trolley line in 1935 and the first to take the ice at the newly opened Rockefeller Center skating rink the next year. He was the first motorist on the New Jersey Turnpike in 1951, the first paying customer to feed a New York parking meter when the city installed them that year, and the first to cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Maryland in 1952.
In 1953, when subway tokens were introduced, Catan was the first to drop one into the turnstiles at the 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue station. He was the first motorist across the old Tappan Zee Bridge in 1955, the first to traverse the newly opened lower level of the George Washington Bridge in 1962 (from the New Jersey side), the first onto Interstate 595 in Florida in 1989 and the first to do a welter of other things.
Embarking on this vocation as a teenager and continuing into old age, he had bagged, by his own count, 537 firsts by the time the 20th century had run its course.

Parker probe observes powerful coronal mass ejection 'vacuum up' interplanetary dust
NASA's Parker Solar Probe soared gracefully through one of the most powerful coronal mass ejections (CMEs) ever recorded—not only an impressive feat of engineering, but a huge boon for the scientific community. Parker's journey through the CME is helping to prove a 20-year-old theory about the interaction of CMEs with interplanetary dust, with implications for space weather predictions. The results were recently published in The Astrophysical Journal.
A 2003 paper theorized that CMEs may interact with interplanetary dust in orbit around our star and even carry the dust outward. CMEs are immense eruptions from the sun's outer atmosphere, or corona, that help drive space weather, which can endanger satellites, disrupt communications and navigation technologies, and even knock out power grids on Earth. Learning more about how these events interact with interplanetary dust could help scientists better predict how quickly CMEs could travel from the sun to Earth, forecasting when the planet could see their impact.
Parker has now observed this phenomenon for the first time.
"These interactions between CMEs and dust were theorized two decades ago, but had not been observed until Parker Solar Probe viewed a CME act like a vacuum cleaner, clearing the dust out of its path," said Guillermo Stenborg, an astrophysicist at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Laurel, Maryland, and lead author on the paper. APL built and operates the spacecraft.
This dust is made up of tiny particles from asteroids, comets, and even planets, and is present throughout the solar system. A type of faint glow called zodiacal light, sometimes visible before sunrise or after sunset, is one manifestation of the cloud of interplanetary dust.
The CME displaced the dust all the way out to about 6 million miles from the sun—about one-sixth of the distance between the sun and Mercury—but it was replenished almost immediately by the interplanetary dust floating through the solar system.
In-situ observations from Parker were critical to this discovery, because characterizing dust dynamics in the wake of CMEs is challenging from a distance. According to the researchers, Parker's observations could also provide insight into related phenomena lower down in the corona, such as coronal dimming caused by low-density areas in the corona that often appear after CMEs erupt.
Scientists observed the interaction between the CME and dust as decreased brightness in images from Parker's Wide-field Imager for Solar Probe (WISPR) camera. This is because interplanetary dust reflects light, amplifying brightness where the dust is present.
To locate this occurrence of decreased brightness, the team had to compute the average background brightness of WISPR images across several similar orbits—sifting out normal brightness variations that occur due to solar streamers and other changes in the solar corona.
"Parker has orbited the sun four times at the same distance, allowing us to compare data from one pass to the next very well," Stenborg said. "By removing brightness variations due to coronal shifts and other phenomena, we were able to isolate the variations caused by dust depletion."
Because scientists have only observed this effect in connection with the Sept. 5 event, Stenborg and the team theorize that dust depletion may only occur with the most powerful CMEs.
Nevertheless, studying the physics behind this interaction may have implications for space weather prediction. Scientists are just starting to understand that interplanetary dust affects the shape and speed of a CME. But more studies are needed to understand these interactions better.
Parker completed its sixth Venus flyby, using the planet's gravity to sling itself even closer to the sun for its next five close approaches. This occurs as the sun itself is approaching solar maximum, the period in the sun's 11-year cycle when sunspots and solar activity are most abundant. As the sun's activity increases, scientists hope to have the opportunity to see more of these rare phenomena and explore how they might affect our Earth environment and the interplanetary medium.

The Finnish parliament approved the country’s Nato treaty by a vote of 184–7 at the beginning of the month, and on Thursday, Niinistö will officially sign it into law, Aamulehti (siirryt toiseen palveluun)reported.
There are other steps, however, as the Tampere-based paper noted that Finland still awaits ratification by the final two remaining Nato member states yet to approve its application, Turkey and Hungary.
Last week Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that his country had decided to begin the process of ratifying Finland's application to join the alliance.
The Hungarian parliament is expected to vote on Finland's membership next Monday.
Cleaner strike begins
Finland may get a bit untidy this week as thousands of cleaners and property managers walked off the job on Thursday morning, as part of a two-day industrial action calling for better pay.
Citing news agency STT, newspaper Ilkka-Pohjalainen (siirryt toiseen palveluun) reported that some 25,000 employees have taken part, affecting some 16 cleaning service and maintenance providers and thousands of sites across Finland.
The new round of industrial action was confirmed on Wednesday, after the sector's trade union PAM rejected a reconciliation proposal put forth by the national labour mediator.
PAM has also issued another three-day strike warning for next week, that could start on next Thursday. That industrial action would involve an estimated 27,000 employees across 18 companies, Ilkka-Pohjalainen noted.
HS: Ukraine requests Hornet discussion
Kyiv has requested that Ukraine, Finland and the United States hold trilateral talks to discuss Hornet jets, Helsingin Sanomat (siirryt toiseen palveluun) reported on Thursday, citing information obtained by its journalists.
The talks would concern the possibility of Finland sending some of its decomissioned Hornet fighters to Ukraine. Over the course of several years, Finland's current Hornet fleet will start to be decommissioned in 2025 and gradually replaced with US-made F-35 jets.
The renewed request comes after comments Prime Minister Sanna Marin (SDP) made while meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in Kyiv earlier this month.
At the time, Marin said that "there will certainly be a discussion about fighter jets. Various countries are weighing their own abilities to deliver this kind of military support. I think this could also be discussed in Finland."
However, the comments sparked a confused reaction, with some Finnish leaders expressing surprise by the statement.
HS noted that it was not aware of similar requests made to other countries.
Marin to receive honorary degree
New York University is to award Finland's PM Sanna Marin with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree, Hufvustadtsbladet (siirryt toiseen palveluun) (HBL) reported on Thursday.
The university described (siirryt toiseen palveluun) Marin as "a member of the vanguard of a new generation of European leadership," praising her leadership throughout the Covid pandemic and response to Russia's war against Ukraine.
The university's other honorary degree recipients this year include Nobel-winning chemist Carolyn Bertozzi, American Ballet Theatre (ABT) principal dancer Misty Copeland, and science education innovator and University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) President Emeritus Freeman A. Hrabowski.
The award ceremony will take place on 17 May at Yankee Stadium in New York City, where Marin is to deliver a keynote speech, according to the Swedish-language daily.

Pressure washing hagerstown md
The Power of Pressure Washing in Hagerstown, MD
Introduction: Hagerstown, Maryland, boasts historic charm, picturesque landscapes, and vibrant communities. Amidst this beauty, however, properties can succumb to the elements, accumulating dirt, grime, and unsightly stains. Fortunately, there’s a solution that can restore your property’s appeal and protect its value: pressure washing. In this article, we’ll explore the transformative benefits of pressure washing in Hagerstown, MD, and why it’s a vital investment for property owners.
The Importance of Exterior Maintenance: Your property’s exterior is its first impression, conveying its aesthetic appeal and overall condition. You have to have different emission standards for the city. Then you do for the roll areas and the suburban areas because you have more trees more open space, less traffic in the city. You have to have even higher emission standards. City of Chicago de vehicles have to reach a much higher emission standard in the City of Chicago so they can only drive and buy clean fuel.... So it's illegal, so if you're coming from the suburbs and that you have to BUY gas in the city, so you have to buy so much gas in the city. The mix with your existing gasoline that's cleaner. The cut down your admissions so it forces you to buy gas from city gas stations because you need a lower level of pollution from the vehicles. So you have to buy a certain fuel and it should be in California. They only sell it as a seasonal that higher emission. Or cleaner field, that's all you're around. They do it wrong in California. Only the summer dry. It should be all year around like in Arizona. That higher than ultra clean gasoline that should be just standard all year around.....
So the City of Chicago, you can only drive clean fuel. So 2 stroke engines need to use cleaner fuel and also in 2 strokes. You have to use oil that doesn't burn. Yes, you can't use oil that Burns easy. 2 stroke is for lubrication. Cause you don't have a oil chamber. That's separate, so you mix gas and chill. But the oil has to be heavier. So it doesn't burn so the oil stays in and you don't have to constantly add oil to your 2 stroke. Because the oil is not burning off. The oil stays there as a lubricant, and so you have this higher velocity. Oil that doesn't burn and so that way. You reduce any emissions from 2 stroke motors? And then you put with it the cleaner gasoline, so the oil's not burning, so you don't have to worry about the fumes or turnoil. It's almost nothing and then you have the cleaner gasoline. And not 2 stroke engines become highly clean. So they have to have emission standards that are much higher for the vehicles in Chicago.Much much higher and vehicles entering the City of Chicago. To enter a vehicle into the city of chicago you must have higher emission standards or your vehicle's not allowed into the city... Because most of the pollution it does get trapped and people here are killing themselves...
J f k put us in vietnam.... He did it to stop the progression of communism... But the thing is when he got killed. It was very good for the communist... You know the military action he did with the cuban missile crisis. Well, getting rid of JFK and having knowing who's going to take over as Vice President had no military experience Lyndon B. Johnson.
Was Lyndon Johnson ever in the military?
During World War II he served briefly in the Navy as a lieutenant commander, winning a Silver Star in the South Pacific. After six terms in the House, Johnson was elected to the Senate in 1948.

So you'd better pick a Vice President that can lead the country and has all the ability to be President. The point is you learn and Lyndon.B Johnson was not as competent as JFK and the war in Vietnam. He wasn't capable of handling it correctly... He did have some good generals, but it was handled incorrectly. He needed to invade cambodia... They were launching their jets not out of north vietnam but out of cambodia...
We should have set up a base on the border of Cambodia, preventing them from leaving North Vietnam and from coming in from Cambodia. We screwed up also in the green war The ability to drop in troopers and go behind the lines cutting off the supply from china to north korea and again we did not... We could have pinned in the North Korean army and stopped the Chinese from supporting the North Koreans. We failed to do it and we had more than the might to take the position and hold the position.... But we allowed them to go back in the China.Do r n r we supply and then again launch operations out of china back into korea... We did the same thing with cambodia and vietnam... George Bush did it right. He told pakistan if bin laden and the taliban cross over in the pakistan our troops will follow... The President of Pakistan agreed that the u.S military could follow across the border. And continue to go after and seek and kill the taliban... George bush threatened him.... And the one thing Obama did to get Ben Laden. He went into Pakistan. He invaded pakistan and they have nuclear weapons... But the thing is was he ready to take out their nukes... And believe me I guarantee you that he didn't have things in the air to take out their bunkers if they open the doors to their nukes... We got lucky. They stand down but he was lucky because of the agreement that george bush created with the president of pakistan... So the president of pakistan already agreed that we could go after the taliban in pakistan... So that's why the Pakistan, the government didn't respond now.He was having problems with hard liners. And he was his inside his government.People didn't want u s troops on pakistan soil... But they had their agreement and so when obama went in the agreement stood and pakistan didn't retaliate for invading their country and we did invade their country.
On February 22, 1969, the People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN) launched an offensive against American forces in South Vietnam from their bases in Cambodia. The North Vietnamese used Cambodia's ports and roads to supply materiel for their war effort in South Vietnam with the permission of the Cambodian government, which was considered neutral.

Moreover, the North Vietnamese, with permission of the "neutral" Cambodian government, used Cambodian ports and roads to supply large amounts of materiel for the communist war effort in South Vietnam. Through the 1960s, military experts (including ex-President Dwight Eisenhower) called for large-scale offensives ...

Cambodian campaign - Wikipedia
The objective of the campaign was the defeat of the approximately 40,000 troops of the People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN) and the Viet Cong (VC) in the eastern border regions of Cambodia. Cambodian neutrality and military weakness made its territory a safe zone where PAVN/VC forces could establish bases for operations over the border. With the US shifting toward a policy of Vietnamization and withdrawal, it sought to shore up the South Vietnamese government by eliminating the cross-border threat.

Review and Analysis: United States Secret Wars in Cambodia
On February 22, 1969, the PAVN launched a new offensive against American forces in South Vietnam from their sanctuaries in Cambodia. President Richard Nixon and Dr. Henry Kissinger, decided to spray and bomb Cambodia, a neutral country, to eliminate the PAVN sanctuary base camps. The damage and loss of life as a result of U.S. air campaign resulted in the insurgency (Khmer Rouge) being able to recruit civilian members. This created a dual effect of strengthening the popularity of the Khmer Rouge, led by Pol Pot, enabling him to overthrow the Khmer Republic in 1975.
In response, President Richard Nixon and Dr. Henry Kissinger ordered a bombing and spraying campaign of Cambodia to eliminate the PAVN's sanctuary bases. Between March 1969 and May 1970,
B-52

bombers
flew 3,875 missions against targets in Cambodia, but the missions were secretly redirected in flight to targets in Cambodia. The bombing campaign is still cited as an example of American war crimes and was a mobilizing issue for the antiwar movement.
Cambodia's military weakness and neutrality made it a safe zone for the PAVN to establish bases for operations over the border. The US sought to eliminate the cross-border threat to shore up the South Vietnamese government.
In 1978, Vietnam retaliated to a series of Khmer Rouge attacks on Vietnamese border provinces by invading Cambodia, removing the Khmer Rouge from power. The Vietnamese occupation lasted for ten years, but was a disaster.
But I guarantee you obama was not prepared correctly.... So people in the United States don't understand how much great risk he put us at and then terrorism took off under his administration, 8 years and all those terrorists got stronger and stronger and stronger. They rebuilt they were degraded by george bush and rebuilt under obama .. That's why having consistency in policy when you go in the doctrine says you never come out you maintain... But we cause ourselves all kinds of problems pulling out of north korea pulling out of vietnam... Once we went in pulling back to South Korea. He should have pushed all the way through.North korea pushed the chinese back in the china... And if there was any time to go to war against China we had nuclear weapons. They had no nuclear weapons.MacArthur was right. We push him back and if we need to invade China, it's the perfect time to invade China. We had all the military built up from World War 2.We had unbelievable amounts of military hardware highly trained personnel the chinese didn't... And Patton was right after the end of World War 2.We should have took on and wiped out russia..... But they didn't want to hurt for a longer war.So they gave him all of Eastern Europe. That caused us to be under constant threat.Patton understood that if we wipe them out now they don't have the nukes we have the nukes we have all the strategic advantage and we can take down russia now.. So waiting is not an option.... Is waiting get your enemy stronger....
