my brain: claire has had at least AN awareness of morgana since "roaming fees may apply" when she turns around before entering trollmarket and looks around the canal and she's like "i thought i felt something" when she's asked if she's alright and then we pan to angor rot hiding on the bridge looking at them - keep in mind this is BEFORE team trollhunter knows of angor's existence - then when claire ends up getting the shadow staff from angor rot in the shadow realm it literally GLOWS IN HER HANDS AND YOINKS HER OUT OF THE SHADOW REALM LIKE IT BELONGED TO HER OR SOME SHIT????? AND THEN SHE MASTERS IT IN LIKE A WEEK??????? and let's not forget the infamous power portal she conjures in the season 2 finale bc i'm sorry but the power of friendship and sheer willpower alone could not have been what lets her survive that shit ton of magic. also: she's getting flashes of memories when morgana took over her to remove the protective sigils in early season 3??? when it's implied morgana has full control over her body when she's asleep???? and then girl full on expels the KEY TO CAMELOT'S DOWNFALL from her body in A SINGLE NIGHT (her friends bring her spirit back yes but still the power is hers) and reclaims the shadow staff with a GLYPH CIRCLE????? and in the final battle we get a solid ten seconds of claire and morgana ALONE in the SHADOW REALM and we have NO IDEA WHAT'S GOING DOWN IN THERE--

Okay, I have never done anything like this before, But I need to get this random thought out of my system. Small analysis and thoughts of color theory in tales of arcadia: Why I thin Gaylen Krel could be a real thing

I really like Gaylen Krel concept and here is a little speech about why I think it would be interesting with a very vague concept of color theory (it's actually just my my totally altered perception of reality and boredom).

(An apology if anything here sounds weird, English is not my first language).

I do not think it is necessary to say that this has spoilers for the entire saga of tales of arcadia if you haven't watched it

Some extra alert, I may be editing this constantly, since I may notice some new stuff and since my english may improve jsjs

So, there you have, the 3Below squad, as akiridions, all of them are basically blue, all equal, nothing to say here, this is clear, BUT- I think something interesting happens when they are in their human desguise: the predominant color is red.

In Aja it is easy to see this in her shirt and shoes, the only blue element is her jeans, For Varvatos it's a little less obvious, but both his shoes and his jacket are also red (His pants are a kind cream color (?), which like red are warm colors, the only cool color element is his shirt), and then we have Krel, basically all his color palette is blue, cold colors, The only red element is his shoelaces, which is hard to notice.

Someone once told me: ok, but Krel skintone is really warm, and this supports my theory, all the characters have most of their warm colors ON THE OUTSIDE, but Krel, aside from his cold clothes HAS THE WARM COLOR INSIDE HIM, HE'S THE WARM COLOR.

And just like fun fact, like, BRO- even the dog is designed in warm colors 🙃

It seems to me that this could represent a bit how difficult it is for them to fit in being themselves (?) after some point I''l explain this

Another extra parenthesis, I find it curious that in the TOA saga the blue color palette predominates in characters that are "not-human", Like Jim who becomes a troll, or Douxie who's a 900 years old wizard.

And it seems to me another important detail that Claire and Toby represent a little about this dynamic of cold and warm colors.

Toby is orange and red, warm colors = human. He was human and he¿ll be a normal human forever.

Claire is purple, closer to red, but still cold= normal human but a wizard (a kind of transition?)

Together, The path of the chromatic circle represents how they move away from being human. You can check de crromatic circle here:

Douxie does not seem to have any predominant color temperature, he wears neutral colors, this may be because he wants to go equally unnoticed in both worlds, but the detail is in his eyes, normally his eyes are amber (yellow, warm color) but when he uses magic they become blue like his magic itself.

Anyway, I don't want to stray too far from the topic.

It's been a long time since I watched the serie, But I think we even have a whole chapters on that topic. Aja even with problems at the end she fit quite easily as a human, For Varvatos, socializing is a weirder experience, but in the end he has his thing with Nancy and is quite accepted among the other older adults, But we get a whole episode of Krel feeling bad because he doesn't think anyone will remember him, because he never quite fits in.

Long short story if you already see the serie, no much what to say on that, good ending to everyone.

Aja although she tried hid in the human red, in a human disguise, in the end she fully accepts her responsibility and decides to live in the blue that she was born, as the akiridion she is, while Krel, Despite being the most insistent in wanting to have his life back in Akiridon-5, Krel Krel who wanted to hide behind the blue of what he considers his identity, he decides to live like the human he feels like.

But wait. don't missunderstood me, This for both of them is neither good nor bad, neither of them rejects their nature, and I think this is an important part of 3below, embrace who you love and who you are, part akiridion and part human.

I think you may be getting my point: For them being blue is actually good, because at the end they are not human, they just are who they are, And they proudly show their true colors, and they actually do it in a very literally way jjsjsj

BUT-

Here we have. Blue vs red.

I need to be honest here, at this point this becomes more imagination than anything, but I think you all might agree with me.

Gaylen represents many things that an akiridon should not be, And what color is him? Oh of course it's red, a fucking warm color.

Speaking of my theory that warm = more human, I find it curious to point out that Gaylen only has 2 arms, wich is very human for the royal ones.

I saw many people talking in many places here on thne internet that it seemed that Krel and Aja woul be a heirs of Seklos and gaylen, some in the figurative sense of "oh yes, don't let yourself be corrupted by power and be good people" and others in the literal sense. I believe both are true in some way.

There could be many things here but as I said it's a lot of imagination. Was it really a mere coincidence that Gaylen's core was on Earth? Are the colors a coincidence?

Here is a series of points that you yourselves can connect.

The cores of the tarron parents are blue. Probably any akiridion core is also blue. Cold Color

Heartstones are orange, warm colors.

Gaylen Core is purple, but he wasn't an Akiridion? shoul't it be blue? oooh, look a the chromatic circle, purple is just aside froom de red. May be healing?

Let's say Gailen and they would have been more than a vague part of the lore, following what was said before, that Aja's nature is blue and Krel's is red, it is easy to say who is who's heir each one, but Seklos is not seen nowhere, was she really destroyed or is she somewhere else? There are many suspicious places for me, the shadow realm, the darklands, I'm just saying...

I don't know how the whole thing could happen to get in the story to get to the point of Gaylen Krel, but there's my final though: After that, his new red colors could represent a lot of things, maybe the warm colors really only represented a nature that lost of magic and in the end we were all always meant to be magical (?) just saying that, for example, Toby's grandmother has lived suspiciously too long to be a normal human, perhaps he is not as human as they wanted us to believe. That would also be an interesting door to explain why Toby's presence was really necessary from 3Below.

Bu hey, I want some angst, what would meant that Krel is Gaylen's heir? He's a akiridion after he becomes like him? maybe he¿s something more, something weird or strange, not akiridion at all, not human at all

Under this theory, it is similar to what Jim went through as a half-troll, although it is predominantly blue, the eclipse details are red cause after all he's still Jim, that human boy that we all love, and that was sacrifice and change was somtething needed to be made bt doen't change him at all, they both had to become like this, and after all, Krel would still being Krel.

Just I would like to think of a parallel to Jim's breakdown when he becomes a troll but with Krel changing drastically when he becomes Gaylen's heir. Imagine the team trying to catch him to help him and cheer him up because, yeah, by this point in the story, since when did the team care about who they were o are?, and like the cherry on the cake, instead of the legendary Jlaire scene of "no matter who you are, I love you" we might have some cute confort sibilings moment with the same vibe but with "whatever you are, you will alway be my little brother, "

Someone please tell me I'm not crazy with all these thoughts, I am traumatized with TOA

Sup y'all its me and my shitty theories that is centered in tales of arcadia (TOA).

Claire and Wizard/Witches might not be a complete human.

Sounds Crazy? Why? Remember when Morgana stated that she and Claire are magical creatures? Yeah, that; Morgana seems to imply that Claire is no ordinary human like her. Wizards/Witches might be eldritch abominations or spiritual beings in a form of human flesh. (Including her, douxie, and merlin.) Hear me out, Wizards or witches are incarnations of every element, principle or something-something. Morgana is the incarnation and representation of Redemption (Her freeing herself from her own sins.), Claire being the incarnation and representation of Connection. Douxie being the incarnation and representation of Acception, Merlin being Realization (At this point I don't even know what I am even saying.) (ok you know what this is just a rant of mine)

Changelings are a disembody (opposite of mirror) of their Human Familiars

This one's not really a theory, probs canon. But still, Changelings and their characteristics are the opposite of their Human. Their changeling form is the true fake while the human form is the true nature.

Merlin/The amulet choosing Jim as the new trollhunter wasn't because of random reasons.

The amulet could feel jim's heroisim hiding deep in his soul. It could be also possible that Jim might be the vessel of daylight itself.

Bellroc might be from another dimension (this one is just me being delusional dw y'all)

Bellroc being from another dimension or timeline, desperately trying to restore balance (control) to their own world. This isn't really a theory of mine, just a random thought lol.

The amulet knows.

The amulet always knows. Even after Jim time-travelled and decided to let Toby become the hero, the amulet knows. This ending would just tell that whoever finds the amulet becomes the trollhunter, and that's stupid. From the start, the amulet knew that Jim IS the trollhunter, the one that would bring glory to all. I think that It was implied that jim not being the trollhunter would lead the world to doom (clearly explained in the episode unbecoming). SO, jim deciding toby's 'destiny' would just leave to another disaster to the world.

Gaylen is a type of fairy, somehow.

He literally looks like a fucked up fairy, look at the spike-thingy on his back, they resemble a fairy's wings. And also, also--He originated from earth.

Jlaire (or just Claire as a character, tbh) wouldn't be any be anywhere near as popular as it is if Claire was chubby like she is in the book.

Anyways, I love both book and show Claire with my entire heart, but I'm still kinda salty with how much they slimmed her down in the show

This is a really good theory I found out a few people have had lately. This scene here:

People are starting to think the yellow portal isn’t exactly a portal, but the exit/entrance to the New Trollmarket. If that’s the case, it looks like Claire, and Blinky (and maybe even a few others since we only see this angle) would’ve had to in there to probably get that gem Blinky’s holding.

I still don’t know how that explains Jim’s face when he hugs Claire though:

Which is something I’ve been trying to figure out since the trailer cause he looks, just, extremely upset.

Judging by Bular being on the poster (and unless he’s bought back to life) we can assume a significant portion of the show could be flashback which could be really cool. Like Merlin and Morgana’s past, Douxie’s backstory, more on the amulet creation/lore!!!! maybe there’s time travel as well who knows

Claire’s hair is significantly whiter also there’s that screencap with her and a woman in a room. It is Morgana?? Did Claire have to use more power or is it growing naturally and is almost taking over??

Also in that cap there’s a painting with what I assume is King Arthur and Morgana. So we can assume the short haired lady on the poster and with Claire is Morgana?

Also why is Claire in her Juliet dress? Maybe to fit in in time travel era?? And why if this is Morgana why is she so calm. So maybe it’s time travel to a time before she went Evil? Also I see a dragon tapestry, i really hope there’s dragons.

Steve has some armour (very cool and pretty) and a cool axe thingy as well, I aproove. The armour very similar to King Arthur’s though so @jimmylakejr theory of King Arthur being his dad is what I’m buying right now

Aja and Krel I assume have cool wizard-y outfits, hell yeah. Also different scenarios as to why Aja’s is on earth our going around my head. Or maybe ancient Akirdions (not likely but whatever)??? Also why are they wearing them (to disguise themselves whilst in the past maybe?)

Will Steve, Claire and Douxie be the main trio of the series or is this a side quest type thing.

Also there’s a notable lack of AAARRRGGHH on the poster and since all of the other original Trollhunter team are there, does this mean anything or was there no space??? He’s also in none of the screencaps either.

Draal and Vendel are there. More proof it’s flashback/time travel but Blinky has a modern broom in the shot so I’m leaning towards time-travel. Plus is it me or does Draal look more timid/less confident maybe we’ll meet a Draal with a much different personailty???

Douxie and shadow magic (a theory!)

I have a theory that Douxie use to think shadow magic could only be dangerous and, as Merlin put it, only lead to pain. I like some theories I’ve read that say Douxie probably tried to use shadow magic once and the result was one shaken wizard boi who decided he’d never try it again. Based on that, coupled with Merlin always teaching that nothing good comes of shadowmancy and witnessing the darkness within Morgana, Douxie wasn’t a fan.

That is...until he witnessed Claire using shadow magic. Using this supposed strictly dark and wicked art to:

- Save the boy she loves from being burned alive

- Create a path for wrongly imprisoned trolls to escape into the woods

For the first time, Douxie’s seen someone use shadow magic and the result wasn’t pain or suffering or corruption. It makes the conversation Douxie and Claire have in Lady of Lake so much cooler. He comforts Claire and affirms her personal strength and goodness (”You’re not her. You can make the magic your own!”). Douxie sees that shadow magic, like any magic, is a gift that can be used for good (”I never had the gift of shadowmancy, but you do!”). Seeing Claire using shadowmancy out of passion, care, and love is “great” and “wonderous.”

I absolutely love how the writers did this! It’s not just shadow magic = bad and evil and dark. But Claire, who was afraid of that darkness, now understands that she can make the magic her own, using that darkness for goodness. I think in general, there are two sides to dark/shadowy magic. One is, yes, because of the nature of it, it’s used for evil and destruction. But on the other hand, the darkness within us, our pain, sorrows, and struggles, can be our power and strength. I believe this is the case with Claire. Whereas Morgana was overcome by her pain and anger to the point of becoming a literal monster, Claire didn’t allow her darkness to bring harm to others.

I can relate to that a lot on a personal level. Ahhh so good! I love it. Hope this made sense. See yaaa :3

Had an odd dream that, during Wizards, modern!Douxie, Claire, Steve, and Morgana all got sent to the dungeon. However, Claire had been poisoned and was slowly dying a painful death, so moppet!Douxie, Archie, and Morgana’s shadow clone were all going on a fetch quest to get the ingredients for the antidote for Claire, and in the mean time Morgana found something that made her start dabbling in evil magic (a la changelings, though because she saved Claire the modern trio thought that they had accidentally changed the timeline so much that they could trust Morgana not to turn evil)

You know what would be cool? If we had some sort of “Behind the scenes” Trollhunters mini series(or full length) that was just Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!! Hijinks between the episodes we see in trollhunters!

No stress about people dying, just some fun mini adventures in Trollmarket, and they’re joined every other episode by one or all of their fleshbag children!

Wizard staffs and magic rocks

This is a theory about wizard staffs and the construction of the amulet, I’m stuffing it all under the cut just in case of spoilers. This theory does not pull from any spoilers mentioned in reviews, because I’ve decided to avoid reviews and their spoilers.

So some of the first lines in trailer are:

“I want to be a wizard like you, with a staff and everything” -Douxie “Staffs are for those with mastery over magic” – Merlin

Which made me think that maybe the final test of becoming a full-fledged Wizard is to build a staff for yourself. For a Wizard to take a part of their power and turn it into an item of focus and amplification.

Merlin’s magic is green and so is the gem on the staff of Avalon.

Douxie’s is blue and so is the stone in the staff he is shown with.

Claire’s magic is pinky purple, we haven’t seen her with her own staff yet.

Want to know what else is blue, green, and pinky purple?

I would be very surprise if the construction of the Amulet of Daylight was not touched on during Wizards. In the scene where it’s being built during The Oath Morgana’s hand is shown going into the metal of the Amulet but Douxie hands over the stone after the metal portion is hammered out.

Ps. The stone in Douxie’s staff might be the same one in the amulet, we’ll know Friday. As for Morgana’s Shadow staff not matching her sun theme, she is called the Mistress of Shadows.
