So as some of you know, in our upcoming rtc roleplay Karnak dies before bringing Jane Doe back to life, and the kids end up haunting the fairgrounds. But lately I've been wondering why exactly they become ghosts. What's the reason they are bound to this realm? I have a few possible explanations.

1. Karnak died before he was able to bring Jane Doe back to life, more importantly before he was able to give her an identity. So Jane was missing the crucial thing she needed in order to move on, and the choir also got stuck by proxy. Maybe even because of guilt.

2. Karnak simply failed to help them move on. He tried his best, but there just wasn't enough time.

3. As we know, Karnak summoned the choir's spirits to this limbo. But, since he died sooner then expected, he was unable to send them to the afterlife. Perhaps he even interrupted their natural passage to the afterlife, and so they were unable to return.

4. Their deaths were so tragic and violent that their souls ended up being bound to the fairgrounds anyway.

5. The carnie is still out there. The carnie who caused their deaths, the carnie who did that awful thing to Constance only hours before, the carnie who not only took their lives from them but took EVERYTHING from Jane. And they want revenge.

Or maybe it's a combination of these. The choir doesn't really know either, but they'd sure like to.
