I see fandoms rightfully hating or being very critical on a sequel/prequel/spinoff movie or show in a franchise for shitting on what was in other movies and straight up retconning or changing characters and relationships, but then I see it brings as much if not more money than the previous ones and reviewers, article writers and YouTube reactors love it and praise it which will only encourage making more soulless cashgrabs since a big part of the audience loves it, and then I think we do deserve living in a dark age for cinema after all
#yes this is about kung fu panda 4. i kinda liked it but it was the shittiest of the trilogy and retconned a lot#and yet I keep reading everywhere except the KFP fandom itself that it's amazing and wonderful which encourages the dickbag director#not to sound like a snob but why are audiences such sheep nowadays ? never any critical thinking and rushing when it's a known IP sequel#yes it's a personal venting and people can enjoy whatever they want putting logic on the side and just relax watching a movie#but with how much that director like many others and executives feel disdain for movies as an art form and see it as just money...#especially animation which is seen as a subgenre and removing any depth that was planned because 'not funny/needed'... it hurts so much#fandom#movie#cinema#them bastards !#tv show#remember when the soulless cashgrab TLK remake brought MORE money than the original and now IT has a sequel ?
