If you see this could you pray for my 2 year old son. He has a double ear infection and a ruptured ear drum. I just ask the Lord to alleviate his suffering and to help his ears not be permanently damaged.

How often should we read the Bible?

Deuteronomy 6:6

“And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today.”

Deuteronomy 17:19

“He must always keep that copy with him and read it daily as long as he lives. That way he will learn to fear the LORD his God by obeying all the terms of these instructions and decrees.”

Joshua 1:8

“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.”

Psalm 119:97

Oh, how I love your instructions! I think about them all day long.

The Bible is for regular reading and meditation. God says to read it “continually.” Continually doesn’t mean reading the Bible just when we get around to it. If possible, we should read God’s Word every day because that is one of the primary ways he communicates with us. It is the first step taking forward to a relationship with God. To understand Him is to know Him, and when we know Him we find ourselves with Him throughout.

New Years Prayer for Palestine

Lord,

I pray for Palestine.

For their people

their culture

their land

their future.

I pray for the children.

That they may have food and water. Shelter and Love. Care and Comfort. For the orphans, may someone care for them. Feed them. Heal them. Their hearts, their minds, their bodies, their souls.

I pray for the martyrs.

May they be remembered, honored, beloved. May they rest in power. rest in peace. I pray for their justice. May they be justified. May Justice come down upon those who have wronged them.

I pray for the lost families Lord.

On this day, the feast day of the Holy Family, I pray for the families who have been broken, torn apart. Family liniages that have been abrupted and disrupted, Lord. I pray for the families without homes, without food, without water, without care, without basic needs. I pray for the families without a name, without a single living member to account for, those lost in time, may they be honored, may they be found, may they be remembered.

I pray for a miraculous miracle. Something truly great. Something truly Just. A miracle that is truly sanctified.

I pray for liberation of the Palestinian people, Lord. I pray for their FREEDOM their human rights restored. I pray for their victory Lord. Their independence Lord. Their recognition Lord.

In their freedom, I pray they have mercy on the world, though the world does not deserve it.

I pray against the evil wickedness of their opressors

and

those who choose to ignore the pain and suffering of this Genocide; those who wallow hopelessly cynical and selfishly, are wilfully ignorant, and/or are in complete compliance or alliance in the destruction of Palestinian lives.

may justice come those who do wrong, by either what they have done or what they have failed to. May they see the errors in their ways. Bring to light the dark. Expose them. Expose their naked wickedness.

I pray for the fall of the modern Roman empire.

These are some illustrations I did for some discipleship material my wife and parents-in-law are working on. These were made to help visualize the text in Isaiah 44:13-17 on the folly of idolatry.

The first piece is meant to illustrate the text "...He shapes it into the figure of a man, with the beauty of a man..." from verse 13, emphasizing that idols can only ever be less than or equal to their maker, never more—much less a god.

The second piece is meant to illustrate verses 13 through 17 as a whole, tracking two pieces of the same log as they are used for vastly different purposes. One half becomes fuel for the fire, while the other is carved into an idol.

I had a lot of fun doing this, and while these were actually only meant to be concept sketches, they turned out good enough that they just used them as is anyway lol
