Chrissy Cunningham - SFW Alphabet

A/N: my beloved darling Chrissy! honestly writing this made me low-key sad because she’s just so friggin’ cute and I genuinely love her so much and ugh she just deserved the absolute world, precious babygirl! I hope you guys like this! <3

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Chrissy is very affectionate with her partner. She likes to hold hands constantly. Sit so close to you your knees / thighs are touching. She loves to be hugged as frequently as possible. She also loves to give you cheek kisses at any given point throughout the day. I also think one of her ways of showing affection is gift giving. She’s frequently buying you small gifts to show her love for you. She also loves to give head scratches and massages, she finds a kind of peace and comfort in doing it, and hey you’re not complaining. One of her favourite ways of receiving affection is words of affirmation. I think Chrissy is quite insecure and she needs the reminder and confirmation of how much you love her.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

She is the best best friend ever! She’s so cute and so fun to be around, that is once she’s comfortable around you and has come out of her shell a bit more. She loves to have sleepovers, go shopping at the mall, have beauty and pamper nights in, go to the cinema, rollerblading, all those classic lil friendship dates! I imagine the friendship would’ve started at school, like you guys ended up sitting next to each other in a few different classes and you just kinda clicked. She was a bit shy and awkward at first but as you got to know her you got to see just how cute and adorable and fun she really is and after that you were just instant besties!

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Chrissy loves to cuddle! It takes a while for her to physically affectionate and open with you because she’s quite insecure about her body and such. But, once she is comfortable with you, she’ll wanna snuggle as often as possible. She likes to be in your lap and have your arms wrapped around her, basically enveloping her into your chest, like you could protect her from the world. She’s also definitely always the little spoon, she loves how safe and cozy it makes her feel.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

She absolutely does want to settle down almost as soon as possible. She wants nothing more than that cute domestic bliss of living in her own place with her partner, having a place she can call home with the love of her life. And I think she’s amazing at cooking and cleaning. I think she’s really good about keeping on top of everything so there’s never much cleaning to do in one go because she basically always cleans as she goes along. She’s also very good about keeping the house incredibly neat, tidy, and organised; she doesn’t like mess or chaos.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

If she had to end the relationship for whatever reason I think she would write down all of her feelings into a letter. She’d pour her heart and soul out onto the page, letting her pen speak for her because she can’t bring herself to say it out loud herself. She would give you the letter with a squeaky apology because she just can’t get her voice under control to actually talk it out with you.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

I feel like once she’s in a relationship and she feels comfortable Chrissy is committed. She loves you and she genuinely does just want to spend the rest of her life with you, and she can’t wait for that rest of her life with you to begin! I feel like she’s the type who would want to get married as soon as, even if she is still quite young. She loves you and she knows she loves you and she just can’t picture a life / future with you not in it.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

Most of the time she is gentle, like very very gentle. The only time she’s not soft and gentle is when she’s squeezing you in one of her tight hugs which she saves only for you. She’s also super gentle emotionally speaking. She can get upset really easily on account of her anxiety. Even just using the wrong tone of voice with her accidentally can set her off spiralling. She’s very fragile and sensitive with her emotions and she needs a lot of reassurance. But she’s also great in the sense that’s so gentle and sweet when it comes to listening to you talk about your issues; she’s always so incredibly sweet and kind and understanding.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Chrissy loves hugs, she loves it when you hug her the most, just wrapping your arms around her body and holding her close. I think Chrissy would be quite needy with simple physical affection like this, she always likes to be snuggled close to you as much as possible. When she hugs you she squeezes so incredibly hard, harder than you’d think possible for someone as small as her. But she’s only like this with you, only puts her everything into her hug when it’s with you. When it comes to other people like her friends or whatever she’s very reserved and doesn’t like to hug them properly. I think she’s very particular about physical touch when it comes to other people, it’s really only you that she gets touchy with because she feels so completely comfortable with you.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

I think because she’s a lil insecure it would actually take Chrissy a fair amount of time to actually admit that she’s in love with you. She knows she loves you, she’s absolutely head over heels for you, and has been for ages. But she’s always just so self conscious and insecure that you don’t feel quite as strongly back about her. So she only admits her feelings and says ‘I love you’ after you’ve already told her first. But then, after that first time, she usually won’t miss an opportunity to tell it to you again and again.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

Chrissy can get jealous but it doesn’t come from a place of possession, it comes from a place of insecurity. She’s constantly second guessing and doubting herself and often worries that you’ll leave her for someone ‘better’. So when she’s jealous she just gets very quiet and reserved because she’s busy overthinking in her head. It just means you have to spend some time reassuring her how much you love her and giving her plenty of words of affirmation because she definitely needs it.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Chrissy’s kisses are always very soft and tender, gentle and searching. No matter how many times you’ve kissed her almost every time feels just like the first, her lips tentatively exploring yours. I also imagine she’s constantly applying lip gloss / balm so tends to taste like a different flavour almost every day. And you absolutely love exploring her lips and trying to guess today’s flavour.

L = Love language (Pretty self explanatory, what is their love language?)

Her two main loves languages towards you are physical affection and gift giving. However, her favourite love language to receive, as I said earlier, is words of affirmation and reassurance.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Chrissy likes to get up early. She’ll get up, do a quick work out or go for a short run, then shower and do her morning skin and hair care routines before doing her makeup and getting dressed for the day. She always eats some kind of fruit for breakfast and drinks at least one glass of water to start her day off. She’s very particular about this routine and she almost never strays from it. Even if she has nothing to actually do for the day she’ll still get up and do this whole routine, even if she is only returning to your side in bed afterwards. So most of your morning is spent just watching her as she goes about with her routine. Maybe sometimes you go running with her if you feel up to it.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

It depends! Some nights you go out together on cute lil dates to the cinema or rollerblading etc. Some nights both you and her get dragged to the popular guys’ parties, but you both tend to dip out early or as quickly as you can. Other nights you guys have lil pamper sessions together at home; Chrissy is big into self-care when it comes to skincare and haircare etc. So you guys will spend the evening doing face masks and hair masks and painting each other’s nails etc. She’ll give you a lil scalp massage / scratch because it’s something she just genuinely enjoys doing. Sometimes you’ll even have a bubble bath together. Then you’ll watch some cute rom-com comfort movies together because those are her favourites, all the whole she’ll be snuggled into your chest and you’ll just be stroking her back gently.

0 = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Chrissy would take a while to really open up to you. She’s really insecure about herself and the issues she struggles with so yeah it takes a lot of patience and gentle encouragement for her to really let you in and see who she really is behind her very smiley persona. But once she does open up to you she feels so unbelievably relieved because she’s never talked so openly to someone like that before and she’s just so grateful to have you in her life.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

She’s very patient and does not get angered easily. And even when she does get angry she doesn’t usually do or say anything about it, she just pushes it down. She doesn’t like to argue so she’ll go out her way to repress her anger rather than actually have to confront whatever the issue is. So when she does get outwardly angry about something you know it’s bad.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

Oh yeah Chrissy remembers every tiny detail that you tell her. I think it might be an anxiety thing to be perfectly honest but yeah she pays attention to everything you say. To her there’s no such thing as a small, passing comment. She’ll remember you humming a casual comment about liking a necklace you saw in this store once. The next day you’ll find a lil wrapped box in your locker and inside, yep, is that lil necklace. She remembers your favourite comfort foods and movies, all of your personal lil quirks and inside jokes, she remembers it all and doesn’t hesitate to use it all to her advantage to cheer you up whenever you need it.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

Her favourite moment is the first time you told her ‘I love you’. She’d been wanting to say it to you for so long but she was so nervous and insecure that you didn’t feel the same way about her. So when you finally plucked up the courage to say it first she was just so overcome with relief and joy and happiness and love. She was consumed with how happy she was and she’ll never forget that moment; she replays it in her head when she needs cheering up or reminding that you do indeed love her.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Chrissy is very anxious and timid so I don’t think she’d ever be too bold in being protective of you. Her way of being protective would likely be clinging onto you in some way, holding onto your arm and just letting her body be as close it can be to yours. And she likes to be protected herself in a similar way, she finds much comfort in your physical affection. But she also likes verbal protection and affirmation as well, you standing up for her and essentially saying to the world that she’s yours and yours alone; yeah she likes that.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

She definitely puts a lot of effort into your relationship. She likes to plan dates, spend quality time with you, give you plenty of love and attention. She goes almost over the top to spoil you with gifts on your birthday. And for your anniversaries she always has some really special night out planned. She’s great at sharing the load of everyday tasks as well; sometimes she’ll even do too much and there’s practically nothing left for you to contribute (as in like cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc.) Chrissy’s usually got it all covered.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

I don’t know why but I think she’d be the type to pick at her nails / cuticles when she’s nervous or anxious or stressed. Or similarly she’ll bounce her leg a lot when she’s feeling those things as well. She’ll also play with her necklace a lot, running the pendant back and forth across the chain. I think Chrissy has a lot of issues with self-esteem and anxiety and unfortunately she’s developed some bad habits / coping mechanisms because of it.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

Yes she is very concerned with her looks. But it’s not a vanity thing, it’s actually more of an insecurity thing. She feels so much pressure to look a certain way, especially with being a cheerleader and in the popular group. She always feels like she has eyes on her and those eyes have certain expectations of what she should look like. So yes she is very high maintenance about her appearance but sadly it comes from a place of insecurity rather than just a general want to look nice. Poor baby girl just needs someone to kiss her forehead and tell her she’s beautiful no matter what.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

I don’t know if I’d say she’d feel incomplete without you but she would definitely feel your absence greatly. When she’s in a serious relationship Chrissy really does attach herself greatly to them so you being not around for whatever reason would greatly effect her. She’d definitely feel like something was missing in her life but not like she didn’t know who she was without you or anything.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them)

I think Chrissy plans her outfits for the week ahead of time, even down to what underwear she’s gonna wear on each day. She’s just extremely organised in that respect. She also coordinates her makeup and hair styles for each outfit as well. And, as I mentioned earlier, she has an array of flavoured lip balms and glosses and she picks a different one each day, also to go with whatever she’s wearing.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like)

She doesn’t like mess and untidiness or anything unhygienic. Despite being in the popular group I don’t think she likes to actually goes to parties and stuff too often. Usually she’s only there because she feels like she has to be because that’s what her group of people do and expect her to do. But secretly I think she much prefers quiet nights in, or nights out spent with just you and not that crowd of jocks and preps.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?)

She has a super extensive skin care routine that she does every single night before bed without fail. And I think she probably sleeps with her hair tucked into a silk wrap so it doesn’t get messy and frizzy. She likes to be bundled like a burrito in blankets, even in the middle of summer. She’s always snuggled in the covers. And honestly she’s so cute you can’t even get mad at her when she completely steals the blanket.

You entered your apartment and slammed the door. Gods you hated life.

Not even for a good reason... at least, that's what you've told yourself.

All you had was another thing on your list of "don't"s and another reason to hate dating. Why is trying to find true love so hard?

"What's wrong?" Chrissy asked from her spot on the couch, not looking up from her newest embroidery project.

"Nothing." You huffed, flopping on the couch next to her and crossing your arms.

"Our poor door frame says otherwise babes." She joked, finally looking at you sitting next to her. "What's wrong? I wanna help." She offered sincerely.

"Love is worthless." You complained, laying your head in Chrissy's lap dramatically.

"What?"

"I'm just mad about a bad date." You explained, turning onto your back to stare up at the pretty blonde. "She said she wasn't really looking for anything serious, which, fine but it's not what I'm looking for."

Chrissy smiled softly at you and stroked your cheek as she talked. "Well... What are you looking for?"

"True love."

"What?" She asked again, puzzled by your answer.

"I want someone to be my... soulmate." You said dreamily. "I know it sounds stupid but I want someone to love me. I want marriage. I want someone to wake up and tell me I'm beautiful even with my morning breath and frizzy hair. If true love doesn't exist then what hope do I have?" You rambled, getting more and more frantic with each word.

Chrissy rubbed her thumb across your cheek and spoke softly. "Hey, you need to calm down, okay?"

"I hate online dating. I want the meet-cutes. I want the coffee dates and... and the lazy library browses. I eventually want a family even! I want to find my soulmate but either they don't exist or mine's in fuckin' Iceland or some shit." You ranted angrily, sitting up abruptly in the middle of it and almost hitting Chrissy in the chin.

Chrissy looked worried for you but still sat to look at you. "I promise you, true love exists. You'll find 'the one' someday. Just breathe alright?" She asked. "I need you to calm down. For me please?" She practically begged.

"But like," You started again after a deep breath. "I've only been rejected by two people. What if there's more. What if, one day, it's too much? What- What if my heart can't take it after the millionth rejection?" You asked, tilting your head back against the couch so you don't cry in front of Chrissy.

"Well, I think if you maybe looked in front of you then you'd find what you were looking for." Chrissy mumbled, picking up her embroidery again. She had an angry expression and was stabbing at her project like it had murdered her family.

"What are you even talking about?" You asked, looking at her like she'd gone crazy.

She sighed and shook her head, staring at the pink flowers she was working on. "You ever notice the little things?"

"That... you do for... me?" You asked slowly, hoping you'd guess correctly. But really, you'd watched enough rom-coms to be hopeful.

"Yeah. Like how I learned to make your favorite coffee. Or how I randomly bring home fancy books for you, or flowers on really bad days. Or that one time when it rained and we watched movies in a blanket fort because we both knew if it stormed you'd freak out. I even know your favorite candy are M&Ms." She listed with a small, humorless chuckle. "I'm into you. Hell, I think I'm in love with you. I want you to be my soulmate." She admitted, looking into your eyes at the last part.

You blinked, shocked by Chrissy's admission. "Really?"

"Really." She sniffed. "I'll always be with you. Tell you you're beautiful every day. Quench every craving. Give you everything you could ever want because I'm in love with you Angel." Chrissy smiled tearfully as she grabbed your hands. "I just never... verbalized it before. I was still trying to tell myself this was a friend crush." She said before letting go of your hands and putting her own in her lap.

"I... I think I know why I haven't clicked with anyone Chris."

"Why?"

You stared at her as realization dawned on you. "Because I think I was secretly hoping they'd all... be like you."

I love steddie. I do. With all my heart. It's my favorite ship of all time. 100% real no clickbait 1 link mega.

And I love the fandom adopting the idea that Eddie is gay, and Steve is bisexual (and often Eddie is Steve's bi awakening, that feels accurate), but I'm also very hyped about the idea of Eddie learning he's bi because he has a brief crush on Chrissy.

I can picture him so easily after spending half an hour with Chrissy in the woods his mind going like "I thought I was into guys?!?! what's happening???", and then blushing because she was adorable all the time and then learning that he was wrong all along for sterotyping her for being a cheerleader, thinking to himself "well I think it's time to rethink a few things", and then everything goes holy shit and he gets to know Steve and he goes like "ok, yup, so apparently I've got a type and that happens to be layered jocks with unfitting reputations, hearts of gold, 80 pound sweet pupper energy, impossibly huge eyes and smiles that can eclipse the sun. I'm fucked."

Chrissy Headcanon:

Chrissy has an edge of meangirl that kicks in when she needs it to. It's her verbal weapon of choice like Steve's snark. We see her use it when she's desperate to get Max to leave her alone because she's vunerable and feels exposed.

I can't stop thinking of all the ways she'd put that meangirl to use.

Shutting down rumors and gossip about herself, She probably used it to take on Carol and the other ruling popular girls who'd already establish ranks by the time Chrissy was in her freshman year.

Chrissy probably brought out that inner meangirl to stand up for the more awkward members of the cheersuad.

Or to stop bullying when she spotted it, turning the attack against the attacker.

She tries not to be showy about it, keeps it quiet as it's not the image she wants but it's one she'll use for her own protection in the ruthless world of highschool girls.

Thats why she's shocked when Eddie says he thought she'd be mean and scary too. She's not that person. She can be, and she will be if your give her a reason to, but she's not by nature.

Maybe Eddie witnessed one of those time she was pushed into it and it stuck with him. But in a handful of minutes in the woods he learned that that half of her was simply Chrissy's battle jacket.

(Bonus: Chrissy and Barb would have been best friends and I can totally imagine her standing up for Barb at school and having sleep overs with Barb and Nancy.)

(Bonus bonus: Chrissy and Max would have had an awesome big sister little sister dynamic. Both having suffered parents who seem to be shown as emotionally abusive, I think they'd be a cute support for each other.

Max would have talked her into apperciating herself more as a human, and Chrissy would have let Max know that her feelings about Billy and how her life has change are valid, she'd let Max know sometimes she feels like a ghost to.

They'd make soul sisters friendhsip bracelets and when El came home Max would have introduced her to Chrissy who would want to go and verbally tear Angela to shreds.)

Steve and Chrissy bonding over the fact that their mothers hate them.

Steve and Chrissy sharing tips for sore muscles and collapsing on the couch together with bags of frozen peas and corn after going a little too hard.

Steve and Chrissy side-eyeing each other when someone has the AUDACITY to say they like the Colts, knowing full well that they’re going to have to dish on the person the second they get in the car (They know the Colts are Indiana’s team. The Steelers are just… better.)

Steve protecting Chrissy from creepy ex-boyfriends who just want to take advantage of her, and Chrissy protecting Steve from creepy ex-girlfriends who just want to take advantage of him.

Chrissy convincing Steve to get back into swim, and him agreeing as long as she gets back into dance.

Chrissy wearing her whole cheer uniform to his meets and sitting on the edge of the bleachers every time he’s in the pool, palms sweating as he flies through the water- Robin and Eddie went to go get McDonald’s an hour ago- eyes darting from his silhouette to the clock and back again, muttering under her breathe, “Come on, Steve, come on!”

Chrissy screaming when he wins, running to the edge of the pool to grab him, even though he’s soaking wet and she spent so long on her hair and “Holy shit, you did amazing!”
