Welcome to the twenty-third official Cadybear's Reviews VERY Brief Thoughts! Today I'll be talking about A Very Scandalous Proposal, which I have ranked on the "Wood Tier" at 3 stars out of a possible 10. My last and only playthrough of this was around July-September 2021.

More like A Very Boring Proposal.

Because everything about this book was so frickin’ boring. The motive behind Montjoy’s proposal makes no sense. The motive from MC’s journalism boss makes no sense. There were only like a few chapters where I wasn’t tuning out because all but a few later chapters are impossible to follow. This book is so boring.

Asian Simon and that one dog were cute tho.

The day Pixelberry released Choices was the day I downloaded it. So that’s to say I was there at the very beginning. And they almost drove me away about nine months ago. I got sick of the sex books and the toxic LIs and I missed Choices community being a community. I still think VIP screwed that up, but… I never got up the nerve to delete the app. Up until The Nanny Affair 2 (actually now that I’m thinking about it Wolf Bride 🤮 was probably the nail in the coffin, I got board with TNA2 but WB was utterly disgusting) I had read every single book they had. Now I’m back. The Princess Swap brought me back.

Does it have a lot of issues like many of the other new books? Yes. But it’s cheesy and fun and cute! It reminds me of The Royal Romance and Foreign Affairs and A Very Scandalous Engagement, some of my favorite books on the app! It’s a cheesy royalty and I love it. I’m going to try to get back into Choices because I really did enjoy this fandom and I miss it.

However, as an asexual the sexy books are SO HARD because I do not understand the MCs motivations at all and I get so bored. So we’ll see if I actually catch up on the books or not.

I finally finished AVSP after 4 MONTHS. The whole part where MC tries to find out who sent that article was too obvious and stupid. That douche chef sprite was gonna be used as THAT GUY. Simon was just as boring and was not interesting. The only reason to marry him is his titles. DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON NIGEL. I could not stand his toffee ass the whole dayum time. Then the grandparents were rude since day 1. The book was so boring and dragged out I don’t know how I did it but at least I got my diamonds for banging Gabe Ricci 🙃
