Even doesn’t really need a bot.
What he needs is an actor. One who won’t bitch about the concept or the lighting or quit suddenly to follow a hook-up to Barcelona.
He won’t be cruel or irresponsible. Even just has to make some films again soon before he forgets how or gets too scared to.
Later on, when the Bot is sitting on the living room couch, one hand, soft and unexpectedly gentle, at his thigh, Even will think, shit.

Someone overdoes the moaning or says something ridiculous, and it’s just not believable enough. It's not Isak.

Mainly Star Wars. I'm kind of obsessed at the moment. Like, I've gone down the SW rabbit hole and I kinda love it here.

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I totally do. I cherish every kudos, every bookmark, every subscription, and every comment on my stories, because no one is obligated to interact at all. The fact that people take the time to do it? I want you to know I see you and I appreciate you. You could be doing a billion other things with your spare time, but you chose to read my new chapter? and then you took the time to tell me what you thought?! I adore you.
What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
In Vain. Obi-Wan goes to Kalevala in search of something to feel close to Satine in the wake of Order 66. I remember writing it and being like, "Well, this is fucking depressing."
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Peace. Satine gives birth to Korkie with Obi-Wan right there with her, and it's just fluff and love and newborn baby sweetness.
Do you get hate on fics?
Occasionally, I get some kind of comment that implies that I have grossly misunderstood the Obi-Wan/Satine characters, and I just shrug it off. Some people don't like my version of their year on the run because they're annoying eighteen year olds, and I suppose all of us were our best selves at 18? And some of the feedback I've heard on Asphodel makes it sound like I've turned Satine into a Space Thot or something, like she's DTF with everyone in the galaxy. For the most part, though, the feedback I've gotten is amazing, so I keep doing what I'm doing.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes, I dabble in the smut. In Asphodel, it's very much a romantic thing. There's occasionally a little bit of gratuitous smut, but I'd say 95% of the time, the smut scenes are pivotal to the story and give you more insight into their characters and how emotionally tied to one another they are. Maybe I could illustrate those emotional ties through dangerous experiences, but that's what I'm doing in my year on the run story, so.. romantic sex it is. ;)
Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I haven't attempted this yet. I feel like my brain would explode if I tried a crossover.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No, and I fear this ever happening. I'm mean and vindictive. My Aries moon is a bitch.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but this would be so cool. What a huge compliment, right?
Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Nope, haven't done this yet, but I'd be open to it in the future.
What's your all-time favorite ship?
It's a tie between Steggy (MCU) and Obitine (SW). I'll just admit this right here and right now, at the end of Endgame, I sobbed. For two hours. TWO HOURS. My husband has video of me in the car leaving the theater and I'm crying like a crazy person because Steggy got their happy ending. I was so deep into that "doomed by the narrative" ship that I never thought it would happen, so when it did, I basically lost my mind and embarrassed myself in front of all our friends. But I own it. I will love them forever. I'm almost as crazy over Obitine.
What's a WIP you'd like to finish but doubt you ever will?
Shhh, don't say that. I'm finishing them all.
What are your writing strengths?
I'm really not sure. I mean, I like my writing. I like my stories. I write for me, so it's all good. Someone wanna tell me what my strengths are? Maybe it's the details. I think I'm detail oriented.
What are your writing weaknesses?
I'm long winded. If I could cut my chapters back to 3K words a piece, I think my stories would hit a wider audience and I would probably sleep better at night, but c'est la vie.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Never say never, but it's unlikely. For me to sit and try to figure out the linguistics of Mando'a alone, look, I'm old. I got 2 kids. I'm a class mom. I have a job. I have a caffeine dependency. I have migraines. I'll leave that to the pros. I'm just over here fucking around trying to let Obi-Wan and Satine have a few orgasms and some romance before the galaxy goes to shit around them, y'know?
First fandom you wrote for?
Ever?! I used to write Hanson fics when I was in middle school with an Angelcities website, and I was in a little online club called Hanson Hoes. "Do not cite the deep magic to me, witch. I was there when it was written." (Aside from that, definitely SW.)
Favorite fic you've ever written?
It's gonna be Asphodel. It's my baby. I love it so much and I'm so proud of it.

Thank you for asking, Danielle! Forgive me if half the things don't make sense... Still battling this stupid flu, but I'm finally on the mend.
📈 How many fics do you have?
This is such a broad question! The short but true answer is that the number is in the hundreds, between all the stories I wrote in my tweens/teens, to the ones I've written in the last few years. (I know I have probably reached and surpassed more than 100 stories all split between various notes, docs, and word docs.)
But if it's posted... 18 on AO3 (though one of those fics is like a small collection, so it could be 21). Then we have some of those stories in my teens, but I've lost count... At least 2 more on FF.net, and a few more somewhere on LJ and various forums.
👀 Tell me about an up and coming wip please!
I have a lot of them, to different degrees of “just need another pass before sending it to a beta” to “will I ever finish writing this?”
The one that I'm most focused on right now (even if I haven't touched it in ten days) is a pregnancy AU. I had the idea in February but only started writing it in June, and it's basically a TWW season 4/5 AU in which CJ gets pregnant. I'm still struggling with the vision already, but it's been fun to explore almost the same events from S5 on the show through this new lens. There are 9 chapters and 55k words written so far! As I mentioned the other day, I'd say I'm either halfway or two-thirds in, but I'm not sure how much I'll cover. And though I don't know what to think of it, those who have read it do like it. (I cannot post it until I am either done with the story, or know I won't tweak things. I would take so long to update.)
I also have a campaign vignettes fic that I still write from time to time, and a bunch of almost-ready stuff that I need to edit once I find some energy. (I also get the sense people are not into my stuff, so it's not like I prioritize it.)
😬 Which of your fics would you be most horrified for friends, family, or coworkers to stumble upon?
Part of me wants to say 'all of them' because my writing and stories still feel personal, and I don't know what they'd think about it. I'm not a writer!
But the true answer is another wip that Ally/@onekisstotakewithme has dubbed the 'one bed sexy bits' (I called it 'one bed 2.5'). The thought of anyone reading that is just too much two people have 🫣🫣🫣. This goes for other spice I've written in other WIPs, but that one is too much.

Anastasia AU that is SO funny, so clever, so well put together - and, rubbing my greedy little hands together, a perfectly executed amnesia fic. brain trauma!!!! However funny you think this is, it is funnier.
35. What is one essential thing to remember when writing a villain?
HMM! I guess that they have a motivation - they are a villain because they're acting towards a goal that is at odds with the protagonist? Sometimes the motivation is to be dick and the goal is to make the protag feel awful, though. It doesn't have to be complicated.
Oh and also just because someone is a monster doesn't mean you can't have fun with it! I LUV the segment in Sunblind chapter 21 when Auguste is in the bad-end dream, and his Uncle is like 'hey :) want me to be your anointed heir?' and auguste genuinely doesn't get it. that was funny to me, a simpleton.
49. Do you ever get rude reviews and how do you deal with them?
NO which is good because i am the most oversensitive person alive!
52. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I am trying to reply to every comment I get this year! it was a new year's resolution. I used not to but that was mostly a combo of being shy and having weird feelings about artificially inflating my comment count because I was a little fool. I'm trying to reply to everyone because I LOVE getting comments, it IS the only thing that motivates me, and i want to thank people <3 i luv everyone who comments on my fics hugely and unreasonably
also, another resolution this year was to leave a comment on every fic I finish, which everyone should do! I'm a hardliner, sorry.
59. Does anyone in your personal life know you write fic? if not, would you tell anyone?
yes actually! thought i would take it to my grave and then lockdown happened. now i update said friends when i hit a significant milestone. sometimes they ask me if 'that big thing you're writing' is finished yet and i have to say no, shamefaced.

okay so I already said d*ddy k*nk but incest or worse, untagged incest vibes. also i really don't like exhibitionism when the people being exhibitioned to aren't enthusiastically involved.
74. You’ve posted a fic anonymously. How would someone be able to guess that you’d written it?
asides, so many asides. random segues into character backgrounds - not so much much tangents as parabolas because I do think they tie into the main plot but... sometimes I honestly come up with a random snippet of character history and then have to write a fic around it because I like it so much. This is one that currently doesn't have a fic attached, but will eventually fit into the Brexit storyline* -
Laurent has a surprising passion for offal; no one can pin down if it’s because he’s French or if it’s some sort of animal rights thing about honouring each part of the creature.
If pressed Auguste will say it’s stubbornness, because Mama had tricked Laurent into thinking that pâté was ‘special jam’ when he was a truculent child. The meaty origins of this treat were revealed only when Laurent was caught feeding it to his pony Daisy (thereafter renamed Cannibal by all and sundry), and Laurent had decided to double down on his passion for it, possibly to cover up the fact that he had been feeding Cannibal-neé-Daisy regular jam for the past three years.
That’s why her teeth are so bad! Mama had exclaimed. All those vets bills, Papá had said mournfully, stroking his moustache.
oh lol i actually had to come back to this and add another tell which is of course: character has intensely real but not prophetic dream and/or character succumbs to a fugue state and/or character keeps going to sleep at strange times. you know when you think something is a universal experience and then people are like 'girl no what's wrong with you?' anyway. hashtag narcolepsy rep or w/e
AND 55 which you sent me in a different ask lmao: Of the characters you write for, which is your favorite? Has that choice been swayed at all by your followers/readers’ reactions to certain ones?
my secret second favourite character to write is a tie between Jokaste and Nicaise. Nicaise is self explanatory, because he is So Fun to write. I have a fic here from his POV! Please read it (jeb 'please clap' voice).
Jokaste is the darling of my heart. You can tell this because she has shown up in 0.01% of my stuff on Ao3 which is how I show my affection. She is however in like. All of my WiPs. Looking at my google drive nd of the 4 things I am actively (cough cough) working on now she has a prominent role in 3 of them. No one asked for this! But I am so intrigued by her. Her canon characterisation is literally just that line from blades of glory when will ferrel goes "nobody knows what it means! but its provocative!"

Jokaste, as if feeling the weight of his annoyance, rolled her head around to look at him. “You should try dermarolling,” she said, apropos of nothing, because she was awful. “What? 1. do you know how you want the story to end when you start, or are you just stumbling through the figurative wilderness hoping to find a road?
i know where i want to end up definitely, sometimes that can change in specifics a little bit but like. the main themes and shit are always pretty set. the middle can b a bit hazy but also has the main points outlined. sometimes characters just have a few more panic attacks than expected u know how it b <3
2. talk about a notable time a narrative or character has looked you dead in the eyes and said “fuck your plan, here’s what we’re actually doing.”

7. tell us about the plot of the first fanfic you ever wrote
oh boy time to revisit the days where i didnt know what fanfic was!! i think technically my first fanfic was. sfge fic. i had a whole canon compliant story about a pair of twins, the daughters of the girl and boy from the snow queen fariytale, one had fire powers and the other water, the water one went to the school for good and the fire one went to the school for evil. they both got into the trial by tale and watched (ohgod what were their names) bane kill the good kid from woods beyond. uh yeah i had fun working out all their gifts and stuff, i had a lot of characters planned n shit i should see if i can find the word docs for that. as per usual the middle of the fic was very. hazy in the middle
19. what are some books or authors that influenced your style the most?
BUN BUNFLORAS @bunfloras!! SUCH a big influence on both what i write and how i write most notably in finally being the one to convert me from past tense to present. oh dear can you see me? for properly introducing me to whump and kidza, both of which i adore reading AND writing. fuckin. whats her name. margaret owen is such a good writer her books are so good i love how well she worldbuilds and embeds it all so well into her stories. go read the merciful crow duology you will thank me.

hmmmmmm. i think bun and i could write a good book together i mean we've already cowritten tens of thousands of words sfadsgdh. looks at rune and cam. looks at their rp. looks back at this question. yeah it would be about magic and queer relationships and growth and so much fucking angst

i have no fucking clue. i have had so many story ideas i cannot keep track of them all. good lord. lemme check my google drive. OH I KNOW. that one klance fic i wrote from the perspective of a tree <3

i feel like saying 'just fucking do it' is cliche. but its the best advice i can give really. write for yourself even if you dont publish it, read things you like and work out what you like about it and see if you can put that in ur own writing. write FOR YOURSELF. dont write for other people it will become a chore and you will regret it. people wont enjoy reading it if ur not enjoying writing it
81. if you could go back in time and give your younger self a piece of writing advice specific to you, what would it be?
god so much. not everything has to be about romance. stop taking on so many projects with deadlines at once. stop tracking how many words u write each day. write what you want to write. its okay to stop enjoying smth ur writing

Long time no see Tumblr. I am working towards ending my Super Long Hiatus not because life has slowed down but because I am tired of being on hiatus. That means Monthly writing updates to keep me on track. I'm also posting what I've read this month for the interested. Said updates are below the cut.

WRITING UPDATE
Hybrid Theory
Percy dies in battle. A very tragic death that wasn’t at all lame, thank you. Unfortunately, the gods aren’t done with him yet. Instead of waking up in Charon’s waiting room as he should, Percy wakes up in the courtyard of Hotel Valhalla. Thinking things can’t possibly get worse he runs to Carter Kane for help. In hindsight, that probably wasn’t the best idea he’d ever had.
I’ve not made a lot of progress here since I’ve gone on hiatus... I’ve not been in a good headspace to try to work on it tbh. That being said, I’m drafted to Chapter 27 and outlined to Chapter 30.

Assassinations, Building Nations, and International Relations
The war has been over for a year and the tenuous peace has held. Everyone has gone home and while Team Avatar misses each other, life has been going great. Until Aang gets a mysterious note from Zuko. A midnight trip to the Sun Warriors has much further reaching consequences than anyone could anticipate. But the first, and biggest, item on the agenda is to keep the Fire Lord alive.
This one is suffering from Writers Block TM. I know where I am and where I want to go and I have NO IDEA how to do the between part. That being said I’m drafted to Chapter 13 and outlined to Chapter 14.
White Lotus Buds (Working Title)
Music night washes over Iroh. The crew’s attention on each other means no one notices their allegedly ill prince slipping over the side of the Wani and onto the dock.
Zuko, as The Blue Spirit, is leaving to meet another White Lotus Bud agent to exchange information on the Earth Armies for similar details on Fire Nation troops.
The White Lotus Buds are more successful than Iroh expected. Sometimes he thinks the war would end in days if they left the operatives in charge.
The White Lotus Buds were inspired by Zuko himself. It wasn't difficult to connect The Blue Spirit’s earlier escapades with Zuko. Not once one realized there were connections to make.
Iroh does not know when the sneaking began, though he has his suspicions. Ten year old princes don’t go missing for days on end easily. And there's the ambiguity surrounding Azulon’s death and Ursa’s sudden flight. When it started doesn’t truly matter when Zuko will not speak of it.
Iroh lets himself be drawn into the singing of an old sea shanty. It helps keep an old man awake, which he will need if he wants to be alert for his nephew’s return later that night.
This is a White Lotus!Zuko AU and a Blue Spirit AU and a Zuko joins the Gaang early AU. With lots of Zutara and lots of identity shenanigan's.
I have drafted the first 14 chapters for Book 1. I have outlined the first 22 chapters and have notes for every episode of Book 1. This one won’t post until Book 1 is done because I keep having to rewrite parts of chapters as I go.
When the Dark Comes Rising: Gathering
With another Rising in its infancy the remaining five must gather. As a safeguard the Light left certain defensive measures in place. It us up to Will, Bran and Jane to assemble those defenses. In the process they must discover the loving bonds that will be the foundation for the Circle to come.
This is also not dead. I think about this often. I have drafted to Chapter 12 and outlined to Chapter 14.

No summary as of yet on these. It’s Marvel and Stucky post Civil War. I’m about halfway through?

3. Do you read your own fics?
i try not to, actually! i have re-read ten reasons to prepare for my AMA awhile back but that's really...it. occasionally if i get a comment about a specific chapter and not the entire fic, ill go back and read the chapter but its a VERY quick read. i find when i re-read my fics, i notice all the errors and things i missed.
and i dont want to go back and change them because 1) I'm lazy but 2) its...like when musicians leave the static in their songs? the typos are part of the art. they're part of the writing. if i change them..then its a different piece.

yes. i actually think im very funny in a...quiet sort of way. chef's kiss is my first born and i take issues with her as a whole, but the dialogue in there is some of my best work. and who can forget 1% inspiration 99% perspiraiton? FUNNY. shit.

Usually no. my soundtrack is typically a re-run of a tv show I've seen a million times. the one exception to this is when i wrote Fault Lines and listened to Adele's 30 on repeat for a month like a crazy person

i willl not write first person; i dont really...write too much smut (though my back catalogue says otherwise and i dont want to talk about it). i also wont write anything that involves like very intense injury/horror/mystery or suspense.

17) Do you have any wips that you can tell us about? What are you most excited for in you wip?
I have so many WIPs :)
The main one is the oft-discussed Ghost AU. I've probably explained it enough, but just in case: Hawkeye is killed at battalion aid under circumstances that are roughly "what if Where There's a Will, There's a War happened in season 8?" and becomes a ghost, following the example of the ghost in Follies of the Living--Concerns of the Dead. Unable to move on, he haunts the 4077th, and watches everyone grieve for him and slowly move on with their lives. It features a lot of material from episodes but repurposed as well a some totally original events. It covers multiple perspectives; both Hawkeye and everyone else reacting to his death and the consequences. In theory this is my main project right now but I'm bad at actually getting writing done so it's taking a long time. It's outlined at 13 chapters. I've never finished a multi-chapter that's more than 6 (you won't find that one AO3, it's older), so this is quite an undertaking. Ghost AU has a working title but I'm not allowed to use it until I get more writing done.
A couple other WIPs I'm excited about:
The supposedly quick oneshot I started two and a half weeks ago as a quick exercise to get some momentum before I went back to Ghost AU, lol. Expect to see this one pretty soon! I'm not sure what exactly to say about it, except the document title is "sailing accident."
GFA time loop! Hawkeye relives July 4th, 1953 over and over again, trying to make things come out right. I'm not sure how much I should say about this one at this time, but I'll take questions (can't promise I'll answer them satisfactorily) if anyone is interested. This is going to be a long single chapter and since it' more manageable than ghost AU, if I start really feeling it there is a chance it could show up first. I've had some bumps envisioning the prose on this one, but I can picture it and I'm in love with the concept.
The BJ/Peg/Hawkeye fic. Yes, I don't normally ship it, but this story ate my brain. I can't say a whole lot about it without really giving it away, and I don't know when I'll get around to writing it, because it would also be multi-chapter. BJ, accompanied by 12-year-old Erin, drives to Maine hoping he will get there in time to bring Hawkeye back with them. Along the way, they visit other people from the 4077th and BJ tells Erin stories about all of them, also cluing the reader into what the last ten years have looked like for BJ, Peg, and Hawkeye. The plot is inspired by [redacted].
19) What is some random info you happen to have that you used in a fic?
Ugh I used so many of these up.... In the WIP I wrote most of during psych class in college, I had Josh complain that his throat hurt after being intubated. This is because no one warned me about this when I was thirteen and it hurt like a bitch and I was cranky about it.

8) Do you take inspiration from real life? If so how do you incorporate it into your fics?
I do, and I try to transform it beyond recognition. That's the fun, for me! Chianti was based on real life. I was carrying a bottle of chianti and it was icy, and I had this thought of what would happen if I slipped. (I didn't.) The scene where Josh and Toby clean up the glass is also based on a time I held a flashlight while someone swept up a shattered bottle in a parking lot, but it was unrelated to the chianti.
There are other examples but that's what came to mind first!

hello friend! it’s been a while 🌙🌙🌙
how have you been? I hope you’re well. it’s been a crazy month-ish for everybody I feel like. some part of me wants to blame this on astrology but alas I am not an astrology person so let’s just pretend something is in gatorade and leave it at that
here to say, I am still here and still caught up with everything you publish! I fell behind a chapter on wnwtc around 21 but it was actually fantastic because the day I finally found time to read it, you posted chapter 22 the next day, which made me very happy. upon you posting chapter 23 the other day I actually ended up rereading them both yet again. they’re such easy reads and it’s so nice to be so near the end and have them just… living their lives, tying together all of the loose ends. I’m definitely going to go back and start from the beginning when you finish, just to see how jarring it is to go back and see where they were, and how they’ve grown up. I want to say thank you for writing and that you are always the most wonderful at the whole Word thing and also thank you for writing a fic that was so easy to sink my teeth into and identify with the characters and their growth and their love and their sadness. I’ve said this to you before but your characters are all just so woefully human. and I know you’ve complained before about how bloody long wnwtc got but it’s a testament to how genuinely good of a writer you are that it is longer than you intended (or I suppose just as long as you intended but in a ‘why did i write such a long fic’ type way) and yet it’s still so enthralling and absorbing. (also none of us feel that way and to be quite honest the fic would be 300,000 words long and i’d be there. you could write a spin off about regulus sleeping his way through berlin or sirius just tending to his garden day in and day out or, dare I say, bloody GABRIEL and I would be seated quite happily!!)
I’m not going to make this too long mainly because I’m actually quite scared that tumblr will DELETE IT AGAIN because this app hates me, but honestly I think i’ve said what I wanted to say. just wanted to throw some appreciation over your way and tell you how much I still love and inhale your work and that you really do have a natural knack for this stuff and it’s honestly an absolute gift to be able to have it shared with us!!! (also I want you to know I snort laughed like 3 times in the newest wnwtc chapter. you’re also funny as fuck) and I’m proud of you for (almost) finishing wnwtc!! I will be seated very happily for the last chapter and I may cry when it ends you can’t hold that against me

50. Answer any question of your choice, or talk about anything you want to talk about! I'm still so damn proud of Awake and Unafraid, that might be the best thing I've ever written, and especially my foreshadowing. Like it makes me so gleefully smug to reread it and catch all my little hints (like the title...surely I'm not the only person who's had that MCR lyric tattooed on my soul since the first time I heard it).
30. Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter? I used to write almost exclusively one-shots that were pretty short, but I did favor really long one shots. My first longfic I started writing with the true intent of it being one long chapter, but to my distress it ended up being five very long chapters. Again, with my next longfic, I did intend for four long chapters, and it ended up ten very long chapters. So I've learned I should be a little more realistic with my chapter predictions.
21. If you wrote a “missing scene” in [insert fic], what would it be? I'm gonna say Awake and Unafraid, and I did partially write a -ahem -nsfw scene between Martin and ghost!Jon that I will one day finish and post in Words.
11. Are you partial to a certain character/pairing or are you more equal-opportunity? If you are partial to any character/pairing, why do you think that is? I'm the biggest sucker in the world for the "hard character who has never been treated kindly/soft sunshine character who loves them unconditionally" that's what I always gravitate towards. Souja-Chapter 1
Yes. Completely inspired by Leave Her Johnny by Kraken Shanty Band I was going to save this for 2022′s Orctober. But because Burn Without You is done (for once I finish something instead of being burnt out before I can end it) and I need more of this universe becaue Febuary and March are very, very difficult times for me to get through emotionally because of past trauma during this time of year- years ago. I need something to get me through the hardest time of the year for me. I swear one of these years it won’t hit so hard or so bad. But this year is not that year, instead this year, it’s hit hard and hit early. And this is how I cope.
So, this takes place shortly after the events in Burn Without You and Of Heaven and Fire but in another part of the world. But don’t worry, they will all tie together. Like looking at different facets of a stone.
So let’s introduce some new characters and a new place. Middle Row- Young Lord Richard Whiteale, middle is Lady Merideth Ambergreen and to the right is our girl- our reader insert- Nora Souja.
Bottom left is Agnes. Gramma Agnes. Because Meryl Streep is awesome. I love her.
And to the right? Old Dale which is the district that the Ambergreens rule. And just outside of range is Old Fits- the district that the Whiteales rule. So when Merideth and Richard get married- Fits meets Dale to become Fitsdale. But our story starts four months before that very important and fateful marraige at the scene of an accident where Merideth’s life hangs in the balance and her parents are desperate to make a deal to save their daughter and the future of Dale and are willing to give just about anything and everything to assure it which is where Nora comes in to save the day. So this first chapter is just basically a prologue to the actual story. We don’t actually get to meet Johnny until the next chapter but this is important and key to understanding the rest of the story.
Oh and usual warnings apply, language, sex scenes and all that jazz- my usual. Lol.
Also because this is a fantasy story- we are in a midevil/steampunk/pirate/ship armada time period but obviously with a fantasy twist. Enjoy.

Chapter 1
“Agnes! Agnes! We need you!” Lady Isolade Ambergreen practically shrieked as she banged on the door to Agnes’ house in the back of her apothecary that was closed because it was Sunday and everyone usually went to their temple of choice on Sundays. But it was early still, a whole two hours before services would start.
“I’m here, I’m here,” Agnes said as she opened the door, only half dressed but to see Isolade’s daughter Merideth being pulled from the carriage who looked half dead, crumpled up in pain in her father’s arms- she immediately understood the urgency of the visit as Agnes quickly ushered them inside.
“What happened?” Agnes asked as Merideth was put onto the cot as Merideth slowly uncurled herself.
“She was trying to get a morning ride in before service. She was thrown but kicked in the gut before she hit the ground.” Isolade wept as she and her husband stood aside helplessly as Agnes was grabbing all kinds of things off her shelves and putting them rather haphazardly onto the table next to the cot.
“The marriage to the Whiteales is in only four months! What are we to do if she dies?” Lord Collin Ambergreen lamented.
“She’s not dead yet, don’t be digging her grave before she’s cold enough to go into it.” Agnes firmly resolved before she noticed blood under Merideth’s bottom from where she was sitting before she laid Merideth down on her back, still clutching her middle.
“Shit.” Agnes cursed before she rather unceremoniously checked under Merideth’s skirts and had to move Merideth’s undergarments out of the way to find the source of the bleeding because she was bleeding profusely and her undergarments were already being soaked in blood and she needed to find which whole she was bleeding from and to see her bleeding from her vagina, she knew exactly what was happening.
“She’s hemorrhaging. She’s losing her womb.” Agnes realized as she did all she could to stop the bleeding.
“No, no, no, no! Agnes, I beg you, charge us whatever you have to, use whatever arts you must- to save her and Merideth’s womb. We’re done for if she’s lost, we’ll give anything and everything we have!” Isolade desperately pleaded.
“Send a man to the Souja’s. The Souja’s have a daughter who can help.” Agnes answered before Collin nodded and left Agnes’ house and sent his carriage to the Souja’s farmhouse to get the whole family before he immediately came back inside.
“What’s the plan?” Isolade asked anxiously as she and Collin waited for their man to come back as Agnes had already packed the area with cloths to keep the bleeding to a minimum.
“A trade for a miracle. Nora Souja, my adopted granddaughter. She confided in me that she has no wish to marry or have children. Even though the Lass seems custom made by the creators to do just that. But her parents wish to build a tavern and Nora has the makings to be one of the finest cooks in Dale. If you two can tempt Nora to give up her womb and a measure of her health to Merideth. So that Merideth can recover and then once she recovers, she can bear the Whiteales at least an heir and a spare, Merideth can be saved. Nora looks enough like the Whiteales that any child Merideth would carry and birth wouldn’t look suspicious to anyone so that it would be doubtful that Merideth was not the mother. I know the fate of Dale rests on Merideth’s wedding to the Young Lord Richard Whiteale. Nora is 17, her womb is ready to mature, and if Nora will be induced to do the trade, Meredith will most likely conceive a male heir on her wedding night. But we have to give Nora and more importantly the Souja’s enough incentive to make it worth their while.” Agnes told them as she readied her supplies to get her soul forge ready for the trade since she was both medicine woman and witch and she needed the soul forge for this to work.
“Nirewen, we can give the Souja's - Nirewen- to use as their tavern! Because after Merideth marries, we can move in with her to Whiteale’s Dunbower! What’s an old wooden castle, rotting in its core compared to a palace of stone and marble?” Isolade pleaded with her husband who nodded in agreement because Merideth was looking paler by the minute and they were desperate for this miracle. And it would save them the cost of the upkeep of their old ancestral home. Although it was not like they had the money to do it anyway, having to pool all their money into Merideth’s dowry just to marry her into the Whiteales since Merideth was their only surviving child. All of Merideth’s siblings either died at birth or in their early childhood and so Merideth was the sole hieress to Dale. Because Dale was poorer but older than Fits, all of it’s homes were made out of wood. Compared to Fits that was currently building in stone because Fits had a quarry whereas Dale had an old, and rather ancient but very thick forest of stone timber pine.
“Yes Gramma?” Your family asked as all of you came into the place.
“Nora Dear, Meredith had an accident early this morning, she’s dying and the Ambergreens need a miracle.” Agnes informed you as she took your hand and led you over to Merideth for you to see her for yourself as your eyes went wide to see all the blood still coming from Merideth.
“What happened?” You asked.
“She suffered a fall and a kick from a horse, she’s losing her womb and might lose her life if you don’t help. So if you would give her a measure of your health and strength so that she can recover and trade your womb for hers, the Ambergreens are ready to make a trade with you and your family.” Agnes revealed before you and your family turned towards the Ambergreens.
“Agnes has told us of your wishes to have a tavern, if your Nora will do the trade, your family can have Nirewen as your home and tavern.” Lord Collin offered your father.
“But with us inheriting such a castle, we could never hope to pay for its rent.” Your mother paled.
“Oh no, no. You see, we would be moving into Dunbower with the Whiteales upon Merideth’s wedding and Dale is to be combined with Fits then to make Fitsdale. The future of Dale rests on this. You would not rent Nirewen, you would own it. No rent due- ever. You would own it- deed- lock, stock and barrel.” Lord Ambergreen offered as Merideth’s eyes struggled to stay open as Collin knew that it would only be a few more moments that she could stay alive. They were down to the wire.
“And pay only 5% of whatever your profits would be when you open up your tavern in Nirewen. You could even rename it to whatever you wish. Please, we are desperate. Everything we have rests with Merideth and it’ll come to naught if she’s not saved.” Isolade desperately added to her husband’s offer.
“Miss Nora, is there anything we can offer you personally to incite you to make the trade? Gowns? Jewels? A ladyship?” Isolade asked as she came and grasped your hands with her thin, wrinkled and trembling ones as her gaze implored yours as your mind was a blank from the overwhelming nature of the circumstances.
“Miss Nora, if you’ll do the trade, I’ll bless...this cauldron, it will be just as blessed as your womb and health. And whatever you make in it each day, for yourself and your family and your parent’s tavern, it’ll give you limitless amounts of it until you ask it to stop each night. And you will be heiress of the tavern itself and it will keep you better than any husband could and you’d have a say in how it’s run. And you will never have to marry unless you absolutely wish to, for love and only love if you wish. And you can leave it to whoever you wish to when you grow old, whether you birthed them or not.” Agnes incited desperately herself because she had helped birth Merideth herself and was fond of the sweet if not sickly girl. The Ambergreens' investments in Merideth’s health was half of Agnes’ living practically.
“But if I’m trading my womb, for a dying one, doesn’t that mean I won’t have children of my own anyway?” You hesitantly asked.
“That’s why you could adopt! Your whole family can adopt whoever you wish to, all of you can take on the Souja name and all of you would again, only pay a tiny 5% tax on your profits, not your whole income, just your profits. Every year from now until the end of your days.” Isolade insisted before you looked at your parents.
“It’s your body and health Nora, it’s your choice. You would be the one making the sacrifice. But if you do make the trade, I swear you’ll get every penny from each plate or bowl of whatever you make from that cauldron as your earnings and you’d inherit the Tavern itself.” Your Da vowed as they all nodded their agreements.
“Then I will trade my womb and a measure of my health to Merideth. I trust it will take time to do, but I wish for this to be in a contract that everyone will sign so that no that no one may go back on it, no matter what.” You insisted.
“Oh absolutely.” Isolade readily agreed before she looked expectantly to her husband who looked pained because he would never get any more than that measly 5% of profits but in order to save Merideth and to a greater extent- Dale, he nodded his agreement before Agnes began to throw things into her magicked cauldron and turned on her soul forge. She then had you lay down on an extra cot next to Merideth before you reached out and held Merideth’s cold, clammy hand with your own.
“It’ll be ok Lady Merideth.” You swore to her before she turned as you did the same and held onto each other’s hands tightly.
“How much of a measure of my health can I give her?” You asked Agnes.
“She’ll need at least a third of it if she is to recover from this.” Agnes answered.
“Give her half, that way she can recover just as much as I can in a short while without either of us being in too much danger. Like splitting a bunch of chive onions. It’s hard to regrow the bush from just a few. If we split the bunch half way, it won’t be long before they’re back to full size right?” You reasoned.
“Bless you Miss Nora,” Meredith smiled tiredly before she used the last of her strength to kiss your knuckles on your intertwined hands as Isolade repeated her daughter’s sentiment and happily took off the necklace and broach she was wearing and put them on you as you laid there as her thanks for the trade.
“No, My Lady, I don’t need…” You tried to stop her and refuse them.
“No I insist, you’re saving Merideth’s life this day and sacrificing your own to save hers. Much more is owed to you and I hope in time you’ll receive what you’re owed. But this is all I can offer you now. Please, honor me by accepting it.” Isolade prompted before you nodded your agreement, not being able to argue with her further.
“You’ll be alright Lady Merideth, Gramma Agnes is the best healer, she’ll set us both right.” You confidently insisted before Agnes put you both into a translike sleep and showed everyone else out of the house while Lord Ambergreen and your Da drew up a contract to be signed by themselves, as well as yourself and Merideth when you would wake up from the procedure.
By sunset, you both woke back up as both of you felt your lower bellies ache, you felt like you were coming down with the worst flu of your life while Merideth felt better than she had ever felt before in her life aside from the ache in her lower belly too. Her once sickly complexion, was now rosey and the light in her eyes now glowed with more health than she had previously had and instead of being so tiny and frail, she had some meat on her bones and even some fat to spare so that her wedding dress would need to be refitted but she could now bear little ones with ease. Which is all she really needed and wanted.
“Now, let them rest for at least a fortnight. Give them both bone broth and fresh clean water for the next two or three days. Then when they have stomach for it- soups and stews for a few days after that. Then gentle foods after that for a few days and then they should have a regular diet. Full of nutritious foods to build up their strength, but both will make a full recovery before the wedding.” Agnes coached your family and the Ambergreens after you and Merideth both read the contract after Agnes added her bit to it.
Her bit was that not only could the Souja's adopt all who they wished to- but any business bearing the name Souja also would only pay 5% of profits as well. And Agnes had agreed to change her Apothecary 's name to Souja Apothecary. And she too would have the last name of Souja since she was a widow. So she too would only ever have to pay the smaller tax as her own payment for her work as all parties signed it since Merideth and yourself would be the parties involved once your parents passed as well as hers and that the Souja's taxes would always be paid to her and her choice of heirs in the future Fitsdale.
“Thank you Miss Nora. Is there anything I might do for you? Could I make you one of my bridesmaids for my wedding perhaps?” Meredith offered as she watched you sign it after she did.
“Only if you really want me to. You’ve always been kind to me, My Lady. If you will have me as a bridesmaid- then I will have you as a guest of the tavern once we open it up for business and I’ll do my best to make you as fine a meal as I can.” You offered.
“I would like that, might we be friends then?” Meredith proposed.
“Aye, I would count myself happy and fortunate to have a friend like you, your Ladyship.” You nodded.
“Merry,” Merry offered her hand to shake.
“Nora.” You grinned as you shook hands. Meredith was after all a sweet girl. Only about a year older than you were.
Four months later, Lady Meredith Ambergreen became Lady Merideth Whiteale. You were one of her bridesmaids, wearing the finest dress you had ever put on and the nicest, most comfortable shoes too that matched the dress. You were wearing the jewels Isolade had given you and had even danced a fair bit at her wedding and had even danced with Lords and other nobility from all over Creegaria.
However, once they learned that you were just a farmer’s daughter and were wearing “charity wealth” given to you for ‘saving Lady Merideth from an accident before the wedding’. The others made no effort to do anything more than dance with you, abandoning any further designs they might have had which was a relief to you.
Fits and Dale became Fitsdale that day.
Ten months after the wedding, Meredith gave birth to her first son, Richard Whiteale the Fourth. The heir to the Whiteale name and the city state of Fitsdale and the Whiteales were given the status of Viscounts by King Griar since he ruled all of the nation of Creegaria and had just married his son, The Crown Prince Griar the Second to a moura bride from Dorierra, Lila. Who was apparently old friends with the Queen of Yekmeni and because of their close, personal relationship and the political one- Creegaria was now in the Dorrierran Alliance.
And Creegaria and Fitsdale soon boomed in business because of it. And all of the nobility in the country received an advancement, and promotion in noble title rank at the wedding that the King and Queen of Creegaria held that hosted royalty and nobility from all over the world. Even the King and Queen of Yekmeni attended themselves, Queen Audravienne Azurah’s pregnant belly already large and heavy at the time as she was only a month away from giving birth to her first child too. But she would not miss the wedding of her friend Lila and only a week later had to go to Solowards to attend the wedding of her other friend Lavena to the Crown Prince Griar the Third- of Solowards before she went back home only weeks before she gave birth to her son. Crown Prince Ahi-Shumai.
The blessing soon spread to all of Fitsdale. Tadiating from Dunbower and Souja Tavern. Agnes had been so moved by your own selflessness and willingness to help and sacrifice even your own health for someone you had barely known at the time. Agnes added a special blessing that as long as the Whiteales, Ambergreens and your family honored the contract both in the letter and in spirit- that success, prosperity, wealth and comfort would follow all of you.
And she had made sure that like those proverbial bunches of chive onions, both you and Merideth both- not only did each of your health grow back out to full size, but then some. So that both of you now enjoyed excellent health and when your family moved into Nirewen, your family also bought Souja Apothacary for Agnes to own soon after- since your stews were a big hit among all those who tasted them and paid for a bowl.
In that first year, your parents had adopted many other families. Almost all of them being widows and their children in old Dale as well as old Fits as your family moved them into a wing of Souja Tavern. Each family having a large room to themselves so that all of you could work in the Tavern as room and all their meals being provided for them in addition to making a living in the Tavern so that the Tavern itself kept your family and the widows and their children better than most husbands could. Since most of the younger menfolk had been lost in the last war Creegaria fought in only a decade before.
All of you now bore the Souja name to become one larger extended family to fill up Souja Tavern and help make it the largest and best one in all of Creegaria. All of you had helped to renovate Nirewen since it was practically an ancient old wooden castle whose timbers had been rotted out and needing replacing for over half a century but had stood for centuries before that.
But Nirewen’s name had changed to Souja Tavern after Merideth’s wedding and your family moved in- once the Ambergreens moved out of Nirewen and moved into the Whiteale’s Dunbower. And in that first year, your skills had grown from the best cook in your family, to the best cook in all of old Dale and soon to be all of Fitsdale.
Only the cooks at Dunbower were better but not by much. And that was only because they had access to better ingredients, a bigger and more expansive garden and had more experience.
But you were getting better every day.
Within three months of the procedure, you were back to full health and churning out delicious food that had every worker- building up the port in Fitsdale coming to Souja Tavern to eat before they would go home to the worker village that had been built to house all the workers.
Meanwhile Merideth’s health was also full and she no sooner had her son than three months later, got pregnant with her second and life went on with this new normal.
Five years after that Merideth’s wedding- Souja Tavern had grown in size and great popularity along with Fitsdale. Which then became a gigantic port city. Nearly the whole state was one huge city as your family then bought up most of old Dale, first buying up lands then building upwards when they could no longer expand outwards. The Souja name branched out into almost every conceivable business it wanted and needed to have. Until this part of Fitsdale was known as The Souja District. Because the Souja name was not just on all the names of all the businesses but on all the deeds to the properties too.
Everyone in the 9 seas knew of Fitsdale and most importantly Souja Tavern soon after it’s opening five years prior.
Now Fitsdale, ruled by Viscount Richard Whiteale and his wife Merideth after his parents stepped down. He was a good and fair Lord and thanks to Creegaria being part of the Dorierran Alliance meant war was no longer a threat and trade was booming. His lands were always welcoming to merchants of all kinds and since Fitsdale was a port city state with a natural bay that had been developed into a port as fine as any other.
The port also sported three shipyards. One owned by the Whiteales, One owned by Salgria Shipping and the third was owned by the King of Creegaria because of that old, large and super dense forest. The lumbar to be had in Fitsdale was some of the best in the Supersphere because it was an ancient forest of stone timber pine. A wood so hard yet fine and strong it was like you were building with stone. But flexible enough to make both seaships and skyships with as well as any house and of course a good and sturdy harbor with many docks for many ships of all sizes and kinds.
Nirewen had originally been built with stone timbers which is how and why it lasted as long as it had. But in the renovations, your family was replacing one section and wing at a time with stone from the quarry to keep the threat of fire at bay. And by now Fitsdale has also built and kept one of the largest skyports as well because of an old mountain that had settled into a hill with gently sloping sides in the very middle of the city that made building winding roads easy to get goods up and down the hill in every direction and the largest main road from the Fitsdale Skyport, dumped out right across the street from Souja Tavern.
Fitsdale was a magnet for commerce and travelers and often people going to or from Dorrierra in both the western direction through Wakanear and the Brighway Line or eastern towards the Middle Eastern Continent, The Silk and Spice Routes to the Orient through the Enodia Straight and the Southern Poles, to Fitsdale to Forestrong in Solowards ruled by King Grenver. Or really any other place, often passed through here.
Because of the size of Fitsdale’s harbor, even the largest or smallest ships could find proper docking here. Even warships on their way to conquer lands far beyond here- traveled through here to restock and resupply because of the Dorierran Alliance or D.A. as it was known. Being in the D.A. meant that they were safe from the threat of war and invasion but could still do business with others who still engaged in such tactics both in and out of the D.A.
All the docks themselves lined with a broad, stout and sturdy boardwalks still made out of those stone timbers. They were wide enough that two mammoths with their load and cargo and carts could pass each other easily. And Souja Tavern was situated perfectly on the main road- Maveler, from the Fitsdale Skyport to the Fitsdale Seaport and all three shipyards. Salgria Shipyard being the closest. So Souja Tavern had its fair share of merchants and sailors from both ports along with the locals.
And often ships who often didn’t have need to be here in the first place, could take shelter in the large protected bay in bad weather. And whose passengers could also take refuge in Fitsdale instead of having to wait out the weather on the ship itself. And almost all of the ships happily let their crews take their holidays in Fitsdale between loads and even the Skyport had hundreds of braced holders for the sky ships to dock in bad weather so the winds didn’t whip the boats into each other.
So since Fitsdale’s population could swell with the tide. Souja Tavern was built to accommodate the swells with ease. The wooden fortress like castle was slowly changing from wood to stone. One wall and wing at a time seeing as how another quarry had just been opened up that was under the old thick ancient forest that was still being taken down to use the lumber for the ever growing city of Fitsdale and it’s many houses, ports, docks, shipyards and harbors.
The port town seemed to boom into a full fledged major city after the Whiteales really built up the Fitsdale Seaport and the Fitsdale Skyport and especially once the shipyards came in to build their ships as well.
The Whiteales commissioned the building and installing of large cranes right on the docks that would pick up loads right from the docks or the belly of the ships and swing them over to either a different ship or to a cart and helped build up the protected cove. The Whiteales received their investment back almost a hundred fold because Fitsdale just grew and grew ever since.
Even now- five years later, the outskirts of town were getting settled and developed while merchants were building large and fine houses indeed just outside the city. So that the Whiteales and Ambergreens were not the only nobility in the area anymore. Now, the Souja family were the highest ranking merchants in Fitsdale so that the name Souja soon became synonymous with Fitsdale along with the Whiteale name and the Salgria Shipping name as well.
And thanks to some renovation by your parents and their large extended family. The Souja Tavern was relatively new and still getting renovated, updated and upgraded constantly. The swinging and banging of hammers and saws a constant roar in the cacophony of sounds in the place. Usually in the fair weather, that’s when the work on the outside of the place was done. But in the winter and “off season” that’s when the work on the insides of the place concentrated.
And thanks to your parent’s savvy business sense, as well as your own, even when all the ships were out of port and all that was left was the locals in the off season. Souja Tavern did just fine because Souja was a favorite of the area.
Even the Whiteales coming from Dunbower just to come and have a meal when doing business in the heart of the city, by now, Merideth and yourself were some of the best of friends. Even as different as your life paths were as Merry had taught you how to run Souja Tavern and the other Souja businesses since she had been educated in how to run a castle and state and you were a very eager pupil. And the more you learned and the more sage advice Merry gave you that you put into practice, the better things went. And often people coming through Fitsdale, often raved that you needed to stay at least one night in Souja Tavern and be treated like both a royal and like family.
In the five years since the wedding, she had had a child every year since while you had adopted two children yourself. Often her, Agnes’ daughter Ainsley and yourself had all of your children playing together while Ainsley, Merry and yourself ate in a private booth and chatted or played a card game while Richard and your father and brothers did their own business in the main hall. Richard double checked your father’s books to make sure Merideth received what was properly owed to her. Since Merideth received all of Souja’s taxes to herself personally that helped pay for her own needs and wants like gowns and such while Richard received everything from everyone else.
Richard had also been moved by your sacrifice, since he had noticed a marked change after the incident but kept the whole truth of the matter a closely guarded secret. To keep the dignity and safety and security of his wife, children safe. As well as the livelihood of Fitsdale. You now counted him a good friend too. Something like a brother in law, and with the two of you looking a fair amount alike- it was very easy to pass off his own children by Merideth as their pure blooded children by himself and Merideth, simply taking after their father much more than their mother. Although whenever you got to meet Merry’s children, you couldn’t help but notice they looked quite a bit like you too. In both looks and personality. But while you were drawn to Merry’s children emotionally and instictively. Mentally you knew that she was the one to concieve, carry and birth them. You just donated your womb to her- to make her dreams possible for her.
Besides, having adopted two children yourself, any mothering need you instinctively felt was perfectly sated by having them. And it was something you had a hard time explaining. The first time you saw your children, your heart just instantly told you that they were your children and that you needed to take care of them and protect them like they were your own. And while you didn’t birth them yourself, you were very strongly bonded to them like you had, and they were very strongly bonded to you too. So you were family of three, a Ma and two kids. You had a tiefling hybrid daughter named Lena. And a boy who you had no idea what speices of person he was. But he was slate gray but with bright white hair and had horns like a tiefling but no tail. And he couldn’t climb the walls the way Lena could and liked to do. And he and a boy. So your mother had simply called him- your gray son and Grayson stuck. They were a handful but you loved them dearly and the fact that they were orphaned and came to Souja well past nursing age- meant you could take them on pretty easily and didn’t need to rely on Agnes to give your body a spell to make your bosom ready to nurse babes, like she had done with several others. In fact, almost every orphan in Fitsdale found themselves here and found either a parent or a pair of parents or even a group of parents to adopt them since the others had been adopted too.
And when the Souja Family would celebrate the holidays. It honestly looked like a random group of people from all over the supersphere together. But yet, all of you found a way to make it work while your father kept a very important book to differentiate who was related to who and who, who was married to who and who adopted or gave birth to who.
Collin and Isolade Ambergreen were now retired age and liked to stay to Dunbower with Richard’s parents and happily cared for Merideth’s children so that Merideth could oversee the goings on in the castle Dunbower herself. It was decided that your daughter Lena and Merideth’s daughter Tabita as well as Ainsley’s daughter would continue to the contract you and Merideth had entered into which Ainsley Mariot agreed to and signed off on as well since it was now referred to as ‘the ladies agreement’.
One of the biggest reasons why the Souja Tavern did just fine- besides the clean warm rooms because each room now had a fireplace of its own. Thanks to it’s now stone construction. And besides the bathhouse. Since Nirewen had originally been built over a set of hot and cold springs. Supplying the now grand Souja Tavern with hot and cold running water that had been plumbed into the whole tavern. And the Souja family had put a water toilet in each room, which was a grand modern convenience. Besides all of that, Souja Tavern did just fine because the food and drink were excellent.
Souja didn’t have the fanciest food, but it did have some of the best in all of the port. Besides the kitchens in the Whiteale’s castle Dunbower, which was why it was full of the locals even when all the sailors and visitors weren’t around in the off season.
And the Alewives that worked at Souja were practically the best in the country and far beyond and Souja Tavern was lucky to boast of at least two dozen Alewives. All of them having an apprentice or two and happy to take the Souja name as well while keeping a fair bit of independence. Each one with her specialties. Each one choosing to make at least three different kinds of ales, lagers, stouts, meads, grog and such. So that the bar had a vast variety.
And some of the men who worked at Souja worked for the lumberyard and built giant caskets and barrels to store and age the ales and other spirits and the bar was built to store the barrels right there at the bar while the stronger men took care of carrying and loading and restocking the bar itself while the Alewives dispensed their own brews. All of them happy to compete with each other for the best stein of ales, lagers, grog and whatnot each night they worked. All of them working in shifts so that none of them got overworked or burnt out doing it either.
Yes Souja Tavern, and by a greater extention- The Souja District was great success indeed.

♡ How many works do you have on ao3?
Well, I am originally a Wattpad Naruhina writer and I have only just recently placed a bit of my work on ao3. I’m in the process of editing and transferring my work over to ao3 from Wattpad. It’s gonna take some time but I am determined, haha. I only have 2 stories on ao3 but originally I have 5.
♡ What’s your total word count?
Err, this is a great question. But Wattpad sadly does not give you an overall word count for books. And so I do not know exactly. I haven’t transferred all of my work over to ao3 yet so I’m gonna just say I’ve written a TON!
♡ How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
I have only written for Naruto.

Oh yeah! I always respond to comments. I absolutely love talking to my readers. I love when they are comfortable with me and my books to express themselves in the comments. It makes me happy.
Though certain comments like if the readers are only commenting and reacting to the story, I may not say anything. The way I see it, the comments are all free for the readers to use to drop their thoughts when they want. Only certain comments like "This was very good" or "This chapter made me cry" I will respond to because I want that particular reader to share why they feel such a way. ;)
♡ What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Uhhh, I would have to say “A Crazy Accident.” has the angstiest ending. Naruto, the big and evil mafia leader has finally been caught for his misdeeds and so, therefore, will be facing serious jail time. He’s changed, yes, but he still has to pay for all the tragedies he’s done to so many characters in the story. Hinata has finally birthed their son but Naruto has no choice but to leave his family and friends behind. He has to face his crimes and pay for them. So he leaves his girl, newborn baby and his friends behind to go to prison for ten years.
♡ What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Enemies Or Lovers so far has the happiest ending! The two, Naruto and Hinata has to no longer fight because of what they are and what family they’ve come from. The fight between the Werewolves and the Vampires is no more. The two lovebirds are free to live the life they’ve always wanted. They can have children, and can live in the human world away from their home that is known for battle, blood, and death. Naruto’s parents are no longer vengeful and controlling. They no longer see Naruto as a weapon but as their son. They are now the parents Naruto has always wanted them to be. And of course, the main villain, Toneri, has fallen.
Naruto and Hinata, Werewolf and Vampire, the couple that was once forbidden are now free to live like they see fit. Now that is a wonderful ending indeed.
♡ Do you write crossovers? If yes, what’s the craziest thing you’ve ever written.
Um, I don’t deliberately write crossovers but if you want to say all the OOC Naruto and Hinata characters I’ve written for my books are crossovers then… I guess.

♡ Have you ever received hate on a fic?
I wish I didn’t have to answer this question with a yes. But sadly I do. My stories are very dark and so, in the beginning, I was getting hate for it. People disliked the harsh way I took my stories because it was new to them so I get it. Every now and again, I am criticized about some of the events that go on in my fics. Though I have MANY warnings littered around my books. It’s sooo many. I always tell my readers to brace themselves before reading my dark work. But that is all I can do though. I cannot make anyone that is not ready for the contents in my books NOT read them. It’s their choice.
♡ Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Haha, you can bet your ass I do! Jkjk, lmao. Yes, I write smut to add spice to the story. My stories are very mature. I write the heavy-heated stuff, the vanilla stuff, and even the rough smut with lots of dirty talk. Yeah, I’m that kind of author, haha. Freaky freaky!
♡ Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No, I have never gotten an entire fic stolen but I have had some of my Naruhina Oneshot ideas stolen. A terrible reader I had problems with a few months ago decided it was a great idea to spread my ideas around on Youtube. This reader even took a few of my titles exclusively from my chapter books to place in her own stories. But I am just glad I sorted it out. I am also glad that I didn’t have my entire fic stolen. I work too hard, haha.
♡ Have you ever had a fic translated?
No.
♡ Have you ever co-written a fic?
Yes, I have. A year or so ago, I teamed up with a reader of mine because she wanted my help to get her started on a Naruhina fanfic. She said she was afraid to start one by herself and quite frankly didn’t know where to start. So I kindly helped her out. The story was called “The Meadow Hidden In The Hills” on Wattpad. It was a really good book but there were many problems arising and so the book was discontinued.
♡ What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Naruhina all the way!
♡ What’s a WIP you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I plan to finish all of my Naruhina ideas.
♡ What are your writing strengths?
I believe I am very strong with revealing imagery in my stories. I am very descriptive and I like to be that way so I can show my readers what exactly is happening so they won’t have to guess. I describe surroundings well, how the character is feeling, how and why their feelings have changed and the way they are, hair color, clothing, how they feel during sex- jkjk, haha! Though sometimes I do tend to over-detail, heh heh. I get so carried away.
I think I am also great at expressing emotion and personality in the characters’ dialogue and POV. I write mostly in 1st person POV because I just do. It’s so fun and I can really reveal to the reader what all a particular character is feeling and is thinking about an ongoing conflict.
I also believe I am good at depicting and revealing mental illnesses and instilling such things in a character’s actions. I like to make the characters as realistic as possible.
♡ What are your writing weaknesses?
My writing weakness has got to be fight scenes. I believe I cannot write them well. I really don't know anymore weaknesses. Not off of the top of my head. I believe I am improving a lot in my writing. Though editing is a pain, ugh.
♡ What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in fic?
I do not normally write in different languages in my fics. I'm not familiar with any other languages. Only English. Though I am starting to get out of that. So occasionally I'll throw in a little Japanese but the show "Naruto" taught me that and of course, fanfics from wonderful, talented writers as well.
Also, in my ongoing fic, "The Unknown." I have thrown in a bit of Latin. Demons are heavily mentioned in the book so that's why.
♡ What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?
Naruhina from the anime Naruto. I absoutely love Naruhina. Now I was a little late shipping them. I didn't ship Naruhina in the beginning only when the movie 'The Last' was made in 2014 did I hop on the Naruhina train. And later on my love for the two characters increased when I found amazing fanfictions written about them.
♡ What was the first fic you've written? (Extra question)
A Crazy Accident. I was inspired by a lot of dark Naruina writers on fanfiction.net and so I went to try to write a fanfic myself. The story is freaking insane and I literally have no chill! But I was a new and crazy writer but I believe the way I took the story was reasonable. Naruto has experienced a lot of trauma because of his past. He experienced a lot of pain, a lot of betrayals. He’s been hurt by his mother, his father, and even by strangers. He was raped at a young age and had events that went on around him that a little kid should not witness. He’s always had to protect himself. So in the end he becomes an evil bastard that likes to cause misfortunes on others and poor innocent Hinata, unfortunately, crossed paths with him. The story is a major emotional rollercoaster and lots of times, you’ll want to get off. Heh heh, sorry about that.
♡ What’s your favorite fic you’ve ever written?
Ooh, this is so so hard. Do I have to choose?? Honestly, I love all of my books. I spent so much time on them. I gave them sooo much thought. I care about them so much. But if I had to choose, I would go with…

Each one was a lot of fun to write. I put so many twists in the books to throw the readers off course. My readers certainly have fun reading them. Their comments on both books are hilarious. And honestly I love how I portrayed Naruto in these fics. It’s a guilty pleasure since he’s evil in these fanfictions but he’s sexy af. I’ve fallen in love with the character I created, haha.

Oh Gods I'm so excited for this!
Hello my dear friends! It is me, Max, your host and devoted writer. And today I am here to challenge you, my dear followers and friends who support and motivate me!
On January 8th 2021, I have decided to open this blog to share my fics with the world. At first I thought that it would last for a few weeks, and that I would have maybe 50 followers, not more. But here I am today, 5 months later, with 650 followers, and I'm so happy about it.
So I have decided that to celebrate my blog's anniversary and my 650 followers, I would create a writing challenge. Yup, that's it. A challenge.
The deadline is July 8th, my blog's 7 months anniversary (because 7 is my lucky number). On this day, everybody will have to post their works. After that, I will link all of your works in a post (the link to this post will be available in my Masterlist).
When you upload your work, you can tag me in it, of course. But I will also ask you to use the tag Midearthwritings Rewriting Challenge . That way I will be able to easily find them and won't miss anything.
What is the challenge about and how to participate?
It is...About me. Because I am a very egocentric person. No, just kidding.
But it really is about my works. See, I used to be a literature student. And for years I have been asked to re-write pieces that already existed. It is a very common exercise, and it is always extremely fun to do. So I thought...Why not give my followers this exercise?
Below the cut will be listed thirty-five quotes and ten plots. All of them are from my works. Your task will be to write a piece based either on a simple quote, or an entire plot.
There is no limit. You can select as many quotes or plots as you want! To participate just send me a DM or and Ask telling me which one you want to write about.
Up to three people can use one quote and up to five people can use one plot :) So make sure to claim the one(s) you want before it's taken!
How long does it have to be?

1) How many complete fics/oneshots do you have but haven’t published yet? At least 10 and I don’t know if I ever will publish them 😬🤷♀️
2) How many WIPs do you have? Too many 😂 I think it’s at least 30.
3) Do you take requests, write original fics or both? I do both but I’ve closed my requests because I have a good few to get through.
4) If you have requests how many do you actually have? Oh i have ten at the minute.
5) How many fandoms do you write for? Just one ,Pedro.
6) Is there any fandoms you used to write for? I used to write for supernatural.
7) Do you write for ships, reader inserts or OC? Reader inserts, I may start OC but I’m not feeling it at the moment.
8) Niche fandom/ Characters you write for? All of pedro characters although there are one or two of his lesser roles that I’m dying to write for just need ideas 😊
9) Do you read fics as well as write them? Absolutely 🙌 I’m tagged in so many great fics at the moment it’s just about finding the time.
10) Favourite genre to write for? Romance!!! 100% but I also really want to write some fantasy.
11) What is your favorite trope (to read/write)?Enemies to Lovers!!! I’m a sucka for it 😜 soulmates.
12) What do you do to get motivated to write? I read a lot and watch films and listen to music. It all inspires me really.
13) Is there a trope/genre you like to read, butnot write? Hmm 🤔 I don’t like unrequited love, it just breaks my heart I yearn for that happy ending.
14) Any characters/fandoms you want to write for that are never requested? I never get requests for any of Pedros lesser characters and I’m dying to write for them.
15 How long have you been writing fanfiction? At least ten years but I stopped for a long time and then got back into it a year ago.
16) Did you read fanfiction before you started writing? Yes 🙌 I was a reader before I was a writer.
17) Do you only post on Tumblr, or any other sites? I post on tumblr and AO3.
18) what do you personally consider the wordcounts of "Drabble", "One shots" and "fics"? Drabbles around 600. After that it varies.
19) Which do you prefer to write more? HC, drabbles, oneshots/fics, multi chapter stories, other? I prefer series but there a little harder for me to maintain with kids so one shots are easier.
20) Are there any stories you have discontinued? If so, why? Yes I have at least four series I’ve stopped and it’s either I have no more ideas in where to go with them or I lost motivation due to low interaction.
21) What is one of your main "pet-peeves" as a writer on Tumblr? Honestly it’s when people say negative shit on peoples fics. I mean I know that some stories aren’t for everyone but if that’s the case just move on. Saying negative things on a writers work is not helpful to anyone. I also get very insecure of my own writing and am constantly comparing myself to other writers ( who are miles better)
22) Do you write at a particular time of day? Honestly no. Inspiration hits me at any time of day.
23) Do you listen to music, ambiance/noise, to write or do you need total silence? I need silence. I can’t think straight if there background noise.
24) Do you outline your fics at all before writing? For my series fics yes, I write out bullet points on where I want the story to go and if I have a line or two in my head I write it down so I don’t forget. With other fics I just wing it really.
25 Do you post your writing as soon as you finish it, or do you schedule it to come out at a specific time/day? I post a day after I finish it or maybe three. I used to post straight away (If hitch was like everyday at the time) but people got annoyed and blocked me so I don’t post as often now.

Fanfic Writer Asks
[SOURCE: criminal-minds-fanfiction: Most of the writer ask posts I come across are only like ten or so questions long so I thought I’d try to make a longer one because we like talking about our writing! Feel free to reblog!]
I’m answering all of these b/c I love Q & A’s about my writing, both for my fics and other things.
1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction?
It was 2013, so I was 14 years old. I’m now almost 23.
2) What fandoms do you write for and do you have a particular favourite if you write for more than one?
I’m mostly in the Wicked Musical fandom, but I like to read for other fandoms, like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Chronicles of Narnia, ect.
3) Do you prefer writing OC’s or reader inserts? Explain your answer.
OCs, but I’m more than willing to create an OC for someone based on characteristics they give me.
4) What is your favourite genre to write for?
I love me some fluffy romance and hurt/comfort, but I also love some angsty drama.
5) If you had to choose a favourite out of all of your multi-chaptered stories, which would it be and why?
OMG, don’t make me choose! They’re all my babies! I love all my children equally! They all hold special places in my heart.
6) If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why?
Goodness, most of my stories prior to 2017, because I was in high school and had no idea what I was doing because I was just getting my feet wet with writing.
7) When is your preferred time to write?
Anytime really. The latest I’ve stayed up writing a fic was 4AM. *Glares at ‘Threads of Truth’*
8) Where do you take your inspiration from?
Where ever it happens to come up. I’m not picky. Movies, music, people I’ve seen on the street, random thoughts that enter my head, anything.
9) In your xxx fic, what’s your favourite scene that you wrote?
In ‘Threads of Truth’, it’s a tie between Villy’s first date, and an argument that happens in an upcoming chapter. And that’s all I’m saying about that.
10) In your xxx fic, why did you decide to end it like that? Did you have an alternative ending in mind?
In ‘Play The Game’, I liked the epilogue ending that I gave Elphaba with her family, even without Fiyero. I like writing her with kids. Another ending would be with the Fiyeraba still together, but I’m satisfied with the ending it has.
11) Have you ever amended a story due to criticisms you’ve received after posting it?
I’ll go back and fix typos that are pointed out, but I don’t change plot stuff. Like, I wrote what I wrote and I will amend my technique in future stories.
12) Who is your favourite character to write for? Why?
Other than my OCs, because I get to fully create them and my lowkey babies, I’d have to say G(a)linda. She has so much potential and she’s so much fun.
13) Who is your least favourite character to write for? Why?
Boq. Not because I hate him (I don’t!), but because I don’t normally know what to do with him. If he’s not with Nessa, he’s literally just standing there like a brick wall. No offence, Boq!
14) How did you come up with the title for the xxx? - You can ask about multiple stories.

15) If you write OC’s, how do you decide on their names?
I usually change consonants and vowels to already existing names, or add unnecessary letters because... reasons.
16) How did you come up with the idea for xxx?

17) Post a line from a WIP that you’re working on.
“Hopefully, this will soak up any more leaks.” (Upcoming Wicked fanfic)
18) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?
Yes, 2. Both of them are a few years old and I’ve grown as a writer since then. Maybe one day, I’ll edit them and repost, but not anytime soon.
19) Are there any stories that you’ve written that you’d really love to do a sequel to?
Not everything can have a sequel, y’all! XD
20) Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently?
Yes! Around 60% of them.
21) Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire?

22) Do you have a story that you look back on and cringe when you reread it?
This goes back to Question #6; most of what I posted prior to 2017.
23) Do you prefer listening to music when you’re writing or do you need silence?
Silence. I need to focus.
24) How do you feel about writing smutty scenes?
I can’t write it. They’ll make out, and then be pregnant in the next chapter. Y’all can do the math for yourselves.
25) Have you ever cried whilst writing a story?
YES! Yes, I have! Both sad tears and tears of joy. I’ve also cringed from second-hand embarrassment at the things the characters do and say. I’m not in control of their actions all the time. Sometimes they tell me what they’re gonna do, and I’m like, “Well, alright, then.”
26) Which part of your xxx fic was the hardest to write?

27) Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow?
I write bullet points of things I want to happen in a chapter on the Word Doc, or in the story as a whole, and I try to keep those bullet points in order. And the Notes App on my phone holds a lot of my ideas, and sometimes full scenes.
28) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fanfiction?
That I’d become obsessed with writing and continue doing it for almost ten years, as well as expanding to writing plays and musicals.
29) Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like?
Yeah. I’m not gonna say which one, but just know there’s one... or a few.
30) In contrast to 29 is there a story which gets lots of love which you kinda eye roll at?
Yes, and I’m still not gonna say which one(s). I want all the love!

Yeah, sure!
32) Are any of your characters based on real people?
Yes. Villy Doiir from ‘Threads of Truth’ is based on 4 people I know in real life, all mixed together into one wholesome, mother figure/ mentor. Perhaps that’s why I like writing her so much.
33) What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten?
All reviews keep me going, no matter the length. But I love it when people review saying that they picked up on little references that were really just for me. It makes me feel like we’ve shared a moment.
34) What’s the harshest criticism you’ve gotten?
A guest reviewer once said, “You tend to write Fiyero as an abusive person”. It wasn’t harsh, just... NOT TRUE. Especially for the story they were reviewing.
35) Do you share your story ideas with anyone else or do you keep them close to your chest?
Close to my chest. I’ll share it with the world when I’m ready.
36) Can you give us a spoiler for one of your WIP’s?
NOPE! You’ll just have to wait and see! LOL!
37) What’s the funniest story you’ve written?
I... really don’t know. My stories all have their funny moments.
38) If you could collab with any other writer on here, who would it be? (Perhaps this question will inspire some collabs!) If you’re shy, don’t tag the blog, just name it.
I’m very busy, and collabs aren’t really my thing, but I’m always willing to lend an extra pair of eyes pre-posting.
39) Do you prefer first, second or third person?
I’ve written one story in the first person and it was fun to get into the character’s head, but I love third person, cause I like knowing what everyone is thinking. Second person makes me feel a certain way and that don’t really like.
40) Do people know you write fanfiction?
IRL, no. It’s not something I bring up over dinner. I’ll talk about my plays and musicals, but not fanfiction. I like keeping my fics for the online peeps and my more personal writings for the RL peeps.
41) What’s you favourite minor character you’ve written?
My OC, Princess Hannalyn, from ‘A Royal Romance’. She was so much fun!
42) Song fic - What made you decide to use the song xxx for xxx.
I haven’t done a song fic.
43) Has anyone ever guessed the plot twist of one of your fics before you posted it?
Not fully, but they’ve had little inklings, but certain details were still a surprise. And I’m not mad about it.
44) What is the last line you wrote?
“I don’t want this to be the last time we see each other.”
45) What spurs you on during the writing process?
When I’ll have one idea, and it spirals into many others, and when the characters write themselves. It makes it so much easier for me. Sometimes they tell me that they’re about to make a bad decision, and I just go along with it. They need to learn and grow somehow.
46) I really loved your xxx fic. If you were ever to do a sequel, what do you think might happen in it?

48) What’s your favourite trope to write?
I love a good Royalty AU (not fully AU ‘cause of our princey-prince, but still) and Holiday AUs. And I’ve never written a Coffeeshop AU, but I LOVE reading them. I’ll read anything. I’m not picky, and I love to see what ideas others have.
49) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?
Yes, and both of them were Gelphies:
1 - “Easier Said Than Done” by mecelphie - It’s part of a long, wonderful series of Elphaba and Glinda together at Shiz and how their lives evolve together and has many lovable OCs.
2 - “The Thropp Diaries” by denpa wave chick saki - It’s first-person Elphaba POV of the book. It expands on lots of mentioned moments and we get to journey through Elphaba’s thoughts.
50) If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
I’d have to say fluff, so I can get my escape from reality. But it’s hard to write pure fluff without a little bit of conflict.

End of year game! 15 something you learned this year and 21 most memorable comment/review

15. Something you learned this year
I learned a lot about myself as a writer this year.
I had, for most of my time as a writer of fan fiction, maintained that it was essential to have a story complete, or near complete before posting. Early on in my journey, I had a very memorable fail publishing serially (a vampire AU, of all things) that I still feel guilty about more than a dozen years gone, and I'd maintained that it is a cruel and hurtful thing to leave a story unfinished (not to the reader, but to the story). So, I had taken than mantra - publish no unfinished story - to the extreme. Which is why there are WIPs totaling half a million words in my computer.
But that is untenable, I with a new fandom, I needed a new attitude. So I wrote the first seven chapters of Stars/Scars and started publishing, with no clue how long it would be (I knew how it would end and what the main beats of the story were, but that's it). The overwhelmingly positive reaction from the fandom, something I have not experienced in years, has been a massive tailwind, keeping me focused on writing this story and helping propagate ideas for a half-dozen timestamps.
TL;DR - I've learned that I can write serially and publish according to a schedule and stick with my commitments. Mostly because I have readers who are as committed to reading the story as I am to writing it.
21. Most memorable comment/review
There have been so many for Stars/Scars, beautiful words that bring actual tears to my eyes, but there is a comment I received on a story I wrote for White Collar, back in 2011 that still resonates with me, more than ten years later, one that I go back to whenever I feel like my writing is utter crap:
I found myself writing this in chat to a pal who recced this to me, and thought, "Hey, the author should see this," so this is what I wrote:
So it's wonderful, and...just a little QED for me in how to write wonderful casefic. I mean, it's casefic, but it's also relationship-fic, and at the same time, the watermark, all the little investigative details, even the wonderful FBI friend over the phone, pushing us forward into the revelation, they're all so well-written and really ring true. and it's just not fair that someone who can write wonderful detailed detective-work like that can also write a gutwrenching line like "I was the shiny new thing." She implicitly blames the parents, although she doesn't say it at all. But jeez, the detective side of it! It was like... like nothing I've read outside of Agatha Christie.
