I'm just going to put in my top recs because I've read like a lot

1. Shifting borders

WHEN I SAY THIS IS GOOD I MEAN IT

the story is more world building and characterization based which is amazing for me as an avid Tolkien fan who is extremely picky

Very gay and very cute 10/10 would recommend

I honestly want to give more love towards this author because they have another webtoon called chanta which takes place in the same universe as this and it's equal exciting to read

2. Miss abbott and the doctor

Sooooooo cute and it keeps me engaged

I literally log in every day just to use my daily pass to read another chapter

It's more slice of life and romance based and a great example of opposites attract and enemies to lovers

I would write a lot more but that would spoiling༎ຶ⁠‿⁠༎ຶ

3. Homesick

The storyline? Pops.

The artstyle?so good that I cried.

The characters and roles? Believe me when I tell u that it's perfect.

It's all set in a beauty fantasy setting with terrifying moments and a lot of suspense and thrill

It was so good I read everything over 1 night and woke up the next morning dead but satisfied

It's quite pleasing even for someone who doesn't like horror that much but is okay with gore and angst

Honestly can't wait till the next episode comes out

4.Morgana and Oz

One of the first webcomics I read which got me instantly hooked

It's currently one hiatus but whatever has been already posted has literally brought me to tears. Again it's fantasy and the characters are soo cute and complex

Top tier would recommend to anybody in my line of sight

What are shapeshifters? Shapeshifters are members of the royal family of Chanti. They’re also called blue-fingers, or simply the Vodianovas. Shapeshifters can be divided into young and old. Young ones can turn back into their humanoid form, and are somewhat sentient when they’re in a non-humanoid form. Old ones can no longer turn back. They behave more animalistic and act on instinct.

Old ones neither eat, sleep nor age. And yet, they still kill and consume animals and humans sporadically.  They never deliberately attack chanta - who do not consider themselves human, by the way - although accidents have happened. However, they absolutely kill and consume other humanoids such as homo sapiens (like islanders and mainlanders). In fact, they seem to hunt humans specifically. old shapeshifters have been observed to stalk their prey for days, weeks and even months. As a shapshifter grows older, the hangovers after turning back gets more and more intense. Around the age of 60, they lose the ability to turn back altogether.

If they are immortal, why aren’t there a bazillion of them? Mostly because of the ascension. The ascension makes each generation of young shapeshifters fight each other to the death. The sole remaining shapeshifter from each cohort will live on to attain god status in the eyes of the chanta. shapeshifters are considered extremely difficult to kill. records do exist of assassination attempts by mainlanders, however exceedingly few have been successful.

What are the chanta’s relationship to shapeshifters Chanta consider shapeshifters holy. In fact, they are referred to as Gods in everyday speech. For example, “that God just ate my pidgin”, “there’s a God over there” or “that God knocked my mother’s ashes down from the shelf”. young shapeshifters are not granted the same status, however an important rule of the ascension is that no one is to interfere. Thus Only young shapeshifters are allowed to kill other shapeshifters. The punishment for killing a blue-finger otherwise is dire.

Fun fact! jochi and chani will call old shapeshifters uncle, although some of them might be their grand-grand-grand-father, etc.

Si hay algo peor a que te escriba de la nada tu ex luego de años de silencio, es que te escriba de la nada un ex amigo que te debe plata, para lo que sea menos saldar la deuda, luego de años de silencio. Amistad unilateral: él piensa que sigue siendo mi amigo y yo lo quiero pero no como amigo sino como deudor, quiero que me pague y listo, no necesito personas así* en mi vida. *Así: Hace unos años, antes de que él y yo pudiéramos comprar entradas online, tocó una super banda de metal en Buenos Aires, de esas que jamás pisan Uruguay. Cuando eso pasa uno hace lo posible para ir a verlos. A mi “amigo” le gustaba ese grupo igual que a mi, ya habíamos ido juntos a Bs. As. a verlos. Esta vez él viajó previamente a la capital argentina para comprar las entradas en persona, con un par de amigos, no me avisó. Un día lo visité y me contó eso, lamenté que no me avisó porque le pude haber dado la plata para comprar mi entrada, me dijo que volvía a Bs. As. antes del show, que si quería me la compraba en ese viaje. Le di mi plata y no la volví a ver nunca más. Parece que en ese otro viaje tenía planificado pasar cerca de la zona donde vendían los tickets, pero al final se le complicó y no pasó por ahí. Ok, ningún problema. Dame la plata. No, porque al volver tuvo que pagar algunos servicios básicos de su casa y no tenía dinero así que usó el mío. Le puede pasar a cualquiera, es mi amigo, lo banco aunque podría haberme avisado de la maniobra, pero no importa. Ok, ningún problema. Dame la plata cuando puedas. Nunca pudo. Lo que sí pudo es escribirme años después para saber en qué ando y como estoy, así que mi respuesta fue estrictamente económica con matices de fuerte victimización: “Mi 2022 se resume fácil: estuve 6 meses buscando trabajo. Conseguí. A los 15 días de empezar me informaron que la empresa cerraba, trabajé casi 3 meses y ahora va a cumplirse más de 1 año que estoy sin trabajo. Ah y en el 2023 se murió la gata blanca con la que vivía”. No volvió a escribirme.
