#man those episodes#so many things put into perspective#like Simon’s role as a protector and his kindness and empathy and compassion and existence being the catalyst for the rest of ooo to#flourish#and Betty is a protector of Simon#I wonder if the last two episodes will explore more of her character? there’s so much to be explored about her giving so much of herself#to Simon but not thinking about what she wants for herself#do we get to explore her feelings or see her at all? will she have changed or learned to let go#I think there will be some sort of closure for the both of them#but at what cost#I am still crying over that scene with Simon’s memory of Betty and their song#my art#fionna and cake#fionna and cake spoilers#simon petrikov#betty grof#petrigrof#golbetty

I'm rewatching Steven Universe and I will never forgive Fandom for what it did to her
#also watching it at age 19-20 as it was released and experiencing the resulting clusterfuck online fandom response was a wild trip#im finally rewatching it again at 25 and really really feel lucky to have seen it at the age i did#i have completely different perspective on it now that i have 3 young nephews and a neice where before i was in college#the music is still as incredible as it was back then#and the animation#i cant beleive people got honestly and truly upset and violently aggressive about characters being off model sometimes#early stevens voice though kills me after awhile...... the yelling .... but his characters growth and development also being reflected in#his voice changing as he grows up#they also go crazy hard on some scenes#who am i kidding the show was a masterpiece and ahead of its time

#homestuck#vriska serket#terezi pyrope#vriska#terezi#vrisrezi#mic_art#screencap redraw of that one utena scene woohoo#vrisrezi and utenanthy dont share many similarities but there are some interesting parallels that can be drawn#like theyre all characters who are devoted to the respective roles they think they have#utena needs to be a prince and vriska needs to be a hero#terezi needs to cast vriska as the villain so that she can be the one to bring her to justice while anthy#is resigned to her role as the rose bride and is cast as a witch by others (and herself in a way...) to justify her suffering#im too tired to put into words all the other shit rattlign around in my brain but something something vriska society violence princes utena#something interesting to note is that in the rgu stabbing scene utena is walking to the left while is hs vriskas walking to the right#which i think is mostly a cultural difference due to english being read left to right while japanese is read right to left#changing which direction is percieved as forward#which could be read further into but could also just be the natural flow of the scene or whateevr#idk i need to peruse ohtori.nu again i looooove reading utena essays
