I'm fine with anyone printing something I did and practicing with it or doing studies privately. Posting it as a reblog to the original like you did I also don't mind. :> If someone wanted to post it separately, I'd like if they asked me first.

Generally, asking first is the polite and respectful thing to do before you do anything with somebody elses art and want to put it online. :) It's just nicer for everyone involved, because some artists do get angry at this. And always credit!

I am not unaware of the negatives of Biden's presidency, and I am not trying to elide or forgive them. I'm reblogging posts about the Biden administration because I think it's really important that potential voters in the US realize that there is, in fact, a very big difference between the two parties, and voting for Biden is not just damage control--it actually does good. It's okay, you can actually feel a little excited about making meaningful progress, and not just hold your nose.

He's been very unflashy. He's not a great leader, he's not charismatic and he knows it, but he's an adroit politician and administrator, and he's been getting things done. Letting Trump win at this point would be tantamount to throwing the entire country on the bonfire. It's not a choice between bad and bad, it's a choice between meaningful, if imperfect, progress and fucking doom.

Good news, fellow artists! Nightshade has finally been released by the UChicago team! If you aren't aware of what Nightshade is, it's a tool that helps poison AI datasets so that the model "sees" something different from what an image actually depicts. It's the same team that released Glaze, which helps protect art against style mimicry (aka those finetuned models that try to rip off a specific artist). As they show in their paper, even a hundred poisoned concepts make a huge difference.

(Reminder that glazing your art is more important than nighshading it, as they mention in their tweets above, so when you're uploading your art, try to glaze it at the very least.)

Rewatching Kamordah and just taking note. The way Yasha stands tall as they walk in, relaxes when TJ is present, and immediately stands guard again when Thoreau walks in. Caduceus's cold stare with no give or his usual nuance. The way it's clear that Clara has given literally any thought to what they did to their daughter in a way Thoreau hasn't bothered. The way Clara didn't remove TJ from the presence of Nott until Thoreau looked at her. The sardonic, false cheer Beau puts on in celebration of the wine arriving, the hurt and the pain behind it all.

I think what gets me the most though is that Caduceus and Jester drink the Lionett wine when they won't drink anything else, because it's a toast to Beau. Thoreau doesn't matter for just a moment. He's scrambling to regain footing, diverting attention to a celebration of the young woman he hurt so badly, and all of her friends seize on it. We WILL drink to Beau, thanks. She's ours.
