so mingjue is holding huaisang nd all that. and he manages to 1. throw huaisang above him (w magic usage). 2. pull baxia up and throw her to huaisang, and baxia pulls huaisang up the rest of the way and he lands on the other side of the bridge, BUT, mingjue falls AND I CANT HANDLE IT.

NOW TO TALK ABOUT HUAISANG AND HIS FLUTE: jgy used huaisang as another way to aggravate mingjues qi. he taught huaisang the version of clarity that he manipulated, and that’s what leads mingjue to killing three of the men that came with them while enraged by his qi. huaisang didn’t realize this at the time bc at first clarity was working! but i think he saw it as the sword spirit overpowering clarity and killing those men

either that, or huaisang only said that as to not distress mingjue further, bc when mingjue realizes all of them are dead, he cries hard, like really really hard. 

they do their bows for those who died (bc when they arrived they had like. 20 men. and pretty much all of them got fucking killed) and there’s a scene after they’re out of them looking over the land similar to when they were younger, and mingjue says “Huaisang, no matter what you want to do, Da-ge will protect you” and bitch i CRIED

there were also several scenes of baby mingjue and huaisang i couldnt handle it they’re so fucking cute pleading emoji pleading emoji pleading em

then i THINK. ok so after that there’s text, and i BELIEVE it’s going over how mingjue qi deviated a little after everything happened. huaisang and him were able to reconcile in the movie, but im not sure how soon the movie was set before mingjue qi deviated.

so basically after this, it’s showing mingjues funeral. huaisang is in his bedroom grieving, when one of his books go wacky, and shows the error in the song of clarity that guangyao taught him. So huaisang figured out first, WAY before wwx did, what guangyao was doing, and that’s why his brother lashed out and killed the remaining men at the temple the way he did.

then guangyao walks in like “stop grieving bitch”(????) and huaisang stands up, and THAT’S the scene where huaisang is like “thank you, san-ge” and does the bow-- which i believe then goes into like, how everything unfolded in the untamed. That’s when he began planning everything and he knew his target immediately.

12 Angry Men (1957)

Damn. What a movie. Watched this in sophomore year of hs and remember it was good, but didnt rlly care that much. Love it now. Freaking amazing. I guess surface-level, the most impressive thing is the fact that the entire movie basically takes place in just a single room. But thats only the shallow shallow part of how amazing this movie is. For me, one thing i loved so much was the amount of sensory detail they put into the environment. The men can look out the window, and their attitudes change. Its humid, its the “hottest day of the summer”, theres no working AC, so they have to rely on a kinda broken fan, and then at the climax, it thunderstorms. You feel like you’re suffering in the heat just like all of them. And idk abt u but i get cranky as fuck in hot weather. And they all comment on this. The baseball guy is annoyed that he’s gonna miss the baseball game, which is, laughably, the only thing changing his verdict on executing a boy. When it starts pouring outside, he’s given up and decides Not Guilty. Now the best stuff is in the dialogue and acting. Its just…SO clever. Because yes, the way the main character defends his opinions and how he is able to logically weave beneath the surface facts told at the court is unbelievably smart. The way the script guides us step-by-step on his thought process lets us know whats happening all the time. But the most amazing part is how we are able to understand the other ppls ideals in the jury through their decisions about the boy. Its not just “oh this guy wants to vote guilty. He’s a bad guy inside. He just wants to kill people, or maybe he’s just a sadist that we could never empathize with.” Its difficult!! Because in the beginning, 11 out of 12 want to just get out of there and vote guilty! And its not like none of us have ever given a quick decision to just get out of a fucking annoying situation. MAYBE we wouldnt exactly think straight, if 10 other people in a room with you unanimously agree Guilty, its hot, and u just want to go home. Its so possible!! And this movie exploits some of the most unnoticeable habits that we have, such as impatience, or prejudice. Prejudice is such a huge thing in this movie. One man believes that bc the boy has grown up from the slums, hes trash, and is just bred to be a murderer. We can cross him off the “i would sympathize with him” list. BUT ONE SECOND another man also has a prejudice against the boy, but for a slightly better reason. He has used his own experience and grief with his own son and displaces all of this unto his opinion. Let’s say, you’ve grown up your entire life hating your father for abusing you. I think its just impossible to say that you’ve never felt just a TINY little bit of prejudice against other ppls fathers??? Im rambling, and i cant speak for everyone obviously, but just a thought. And i know that people can grow out of their circumstances, but i think its impossible to completely forget. Setting aside the moral aspects of the characters, their attitudes are also great examples of flaws within the American legal system, and the idea that democracy is a pure thing. I love how even though the old man, who was the second person to stand up for the Not Guilty verdict, still would have executed the boy if everyone else would have. Its upsetting, but it forces us to reflect on ourselves, and how we can never be sure that we’re doing the right thing. Because we all make mistakes as people, and nobody wants to be alone in their thoughts, so its just safer to agree with others sometimes. We get lazy, we get tired, and we tend to label everything as “good” or “bad”. But the most important thing in 12 Angry Men is that: 1. Nothing is certain 2. We must always think things through to the end 3. We need other people to grow. This movie doesn’t care about whether or not the boy really was a murderer, and they make sure to tell you that its up to us. Fuck w me

UMM I started furiously typing without ANY organization but im here to summarize that this is a shitty essay about taeyong's change of character over the years and how it's driving me NUTS

--- the thing is i never bought into the whole "taeyong used to be a bad boy" narrative and the reason i started stanning him to begin with was finding out he's actually a gentle boy from NCT life and other interviews and realities shows and like......generally my thoughts on the scandal (which changes all the time and i dont know the whole story) is that first of all it's a stupid ass fucking issue to have a scandal around and that second it seems overboard to the point where SM rolled with it and made him apologize demurely and appear guilty rather than defend him in order to push his soft boy image even more? because they were creating a "cold and unapproachable" image FOR him during debut and actively having him and other members demonstrate that he's "actually really gentle" like, this was SM's own doing, which means as time went on especially when CB rolled around you can start to see that the "soft boy" who cooks and cleans and takes care of members like a good leader image is to some extent a construction as well because taeyong is not rly a natural leader, there are members who begin to stand out as having that role instead and taeyong can comfortably retreat a little into the regular person that he is WHICH, at that point, i loved even more because hey he's happy and that makes me happy, i know enough about the person at the core of "taeyong" to bias him no matter what kind of a person he is cuz its always within the bars of standard deviation. to me his image progressed smth along the lines of this starting from rookies era till about...like limitless even they really wanted to push his image as being a dancer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wEdZKC0orM), and when i first saw this i was in luv but the more i got to know him the more i realized this is something they would've choreographed for kai, it's a style of sharp snaps and smooth curves and hitting the points that kai loves doing, kai taemin etc like knowing SM's history of dancers this feels more like them than taeyong, and ofc being a rookie ty must learn to be ABLE to technically execute things like this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvniaVnTKQI), cool sharp and hard hitting, which falls in line with the "seems cool but is sweet" dichotomy they had for him around NCT U/FT era (like grey hair era) and i ALWAYS think about this interview (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZMb7t_cH10) where they asked the team dance or music aND LIKE BESIDES WINWIN WHO OBV CHOSE DANCE TY CHOSE DANCE BUT I NEVER UNDERSTOOD IT BECAUSE its so different from how im used to when i watch dancers like i dont think taeyong necessarily worships dancing because he seems to LOVE music as much as dance because theyre both means to express himself thru (and i personally think he answered dance cuz he's "dancer" but fk do i know) and like from the moment limitless hit and he was put in a SOFT SWEATER and there were suddenly 9 people and johnny existed and carried them thru variety taeyong has significantly retreated more into the background and limitless is where he starts to FEEL his identity a little more and so he WRITES things like BDLI, he SAYS things like "i loved this line so much", because they're starting to move from their cool-but-not-quite-relatable, not quite touchable, exclusive and distant kind of music towards something more "true and free" which is at the core of the whole band's image (bUT LITERALLY!!
