My Top 5 Female TVDU Characters
(Keep in mind, this list does sometimes change a bit for me, but it’s mostly the same characters, just in different places)
NUMBER 5 - ELENA GILBERT
Tumblr media
A lot of people don’t like Elena, and I get it. She has flaws and I don’t love season 5 and season 6 Elena, but the early seasons? Season 1 and 2? That’s the Elena I love. She was brave and kind and a great main character imo. Even if you hate Elena, you can't say TVD wasn't very different (and not for the better imo 👀) after she left.
NUMBER 4 - HOPE MIKAELSON
Tumblr media
The Tribrid. Klaus and Hayley’s baby. I feel like I watched her grow up lol. She was the only reason I paid any attention to Legacies. I love that she wasn’t perfect all the time. She made mistakes (kidnapping Hayley, turning her humanity off, etc) and that made her a REAL character. I didn’t want her to become an “evil Mikaelson”, and if she’d been a goody two shoes all the time, it just wouldn’t have worked either. She was a great balance between the two.
NUMBER 3 - BONNIE BENNETT
Tumblr media
An icon. A legend. She went from floating a few feathers on a bed, to almost ending an original, to destroying hell itself. She grew so much over the series. She had principals and morals that she actually stuck to. She stood up to some of the scariest vampires. She was one of the main reasons I even watched seasons 6-8, because she continued to be interesting. Was she used and taken advantage of consistently? Yes. Without a doubt. SHE DESERVED BETTER.
NUMBER 2 - CAMILLE O’CONNELL
Tumblr media
If you’ve never seen the Vampire Diaries spin off show, The Originals, you’re probably confused right now lol. Camille was the main human character of The Originals. Usually, I don’t gravitate towards human characters when they’re surrounded by supernatural/fantasy characters, but Cami got me. She was the brave bartender. I loved her interactions with all of the other characters and she was portrayed so beautifully by Leah Pipes. Her ending made me cry, and it takes a lot for me to cry over a tv show.
NUMBER 1 - REBEKAH MIKAELSON
Tumblr media
I just adore this character. Right from her first appearance, she was captivating. She shook Mystic Falls up. Her one liners. Her ability to go toe to toe with anyone, whether it be physically or verbally. At the heart of it though, all she wanted was to be loved. That’s what she searched for for a thousand years. And in the end, she finally found it.

Okay, so I didn’t actually think anyone would care what I had to say. I just saw a post that riled me up and I wrote that to let off some steam. That being said, to everyone who liked my post or just read it thank you from the bottom of my heart. Seriously it means so much to me that there are people who notice what I have to say. That being said, I want to do more of these cause I have a lot of opinions that aren’t widespread, and I’d like to start with a post gushing about a certain character that receives too much hate. However, seeing as this isn’t a rant out of agitation this might take a bit longer to get out. With that long introduction out of the way... Cami O’Connell!
As I said, Cami is my favorite female character in the whole of the tvdverse (Bonnie is a close second). The reason why I want to start with her instead of Bonnie or my favorite character (Marcel) is because while both were royally screwed with by the writers, there are plenty of fans online who sing their praises (as they deserve). However, when it comes to Cami the consensus online is either hatred or indifference by a vast majority of the fans (that being said there are still a good amount of people who do love her I’m not saying there aren’t, but they are in the minority). This is something I never quite understood, but I’m gonna try my best educated guess on it.
I suppose before I go any further, I have a confession to make. The way I watched both tvd and to was not a straight line. Several years ago, I decided to finally watch tvd and started with the first two season (which I really liked), then a youtuber dropped a video analyzing the pilot for to and the premise hooked me immediately so I started the first season and kept watching until finishing the third, then I decided to go back and watch tvd seasons three and four, then got bored so I switched back to finish to, and finally after a few months declared I wanted to finish what I started and slogged through the second half of tvd. Why is this relevant? Well I just wanted to inform y’all as this might’ve led to my different perspectives on many things in both shows, and it hopefully can somewhat explain my reasoning
Going back to Cami, why is she my favorite female? A multitude of reasons. Firstly, I love how different she is from other female characters we’ve seen. Characters like Elena, Bonnie, and Caroline are fun in their own right, with bubbly personalities and childish innocence. This makes sense because they’re teenagers! Even Elena’s angst comes off more like young naivety than a wayward soul. I’m not knocking this characterization, it makes sense that a show aimed at teenagers would have teenage girls as it’s main cast. Where am I going with this? Cami might be the most mature character we’ve seen in this universe that actually has a pretty big part in the cast. What I mean is that shows like this paint maturity on women as being motherly or a stick in the mud, but Cami is neither. She’s still fun and loose, but with an aura of restraint and intelligence that needs to be accumulated over time. She’s not even that old! My guesstimation puts her at 23 cause we know she’s graduated college with a degree in psychology and was already working at Rousseau’s in the pilot (you mean to tell me you don’t just get your dream job right out of college, you have to work some dead end jobs first? YA lied to me!). I don’t know how quite to describe it beyond that, Cami just feels like a real person to me, and that makes me invested in her life even more.
Secondly, is her personality beyond her intelligence. I love how empathetic and kind she is! In the span of three seasons, she had helped almost everyone in the show while never sticking her feet into the main drama. That’s another thing, she knows when something’s over her head and will step out when she can, when something is pushing her, she fights back. I love that despite how kind hearted she is, she’s not a pushover. If there’s something she doesn’t like, she will attest. She may be nice, but get on her bad side and her sass will cut you like a knife. Considering she’s only a human against these witches, vampires, and originals you would call this unrealistic, but it works because unlike most people on the show, she’s smart. I know I just said beyond her intelligence, but I just want to gush about how fun it is watching Cami get out of trouble on her own by using nothing but her brain (I just think it’s neat). Characters this complex are not usually reserved for women on the cw, which leads into my final reason.
I love how much agency Cami has throughout her run on the show! Like, her story isn’t stapled to Klaus, she does so much without him even being there. In tvd, I can’t think of a single storyline Elena had that wasn’t tied to one or both of the Salvatore brothers, Bonnie is constantly being abused by the writers, Caroline is forcibly impregnated, Hayley starts off with her own goals before being tied to Jackson and later Elijah, Davina also starts off with her own ambitions before also being shackled to her love interest to resurrecting Kol being her only storyline in season three. I’m sure there are more, but these are just ones off the top of my head. While this makes me wish she had her own storyline, I acknowledge she is a supporting character (which begs the question of why none of the women in the main cast get this luxury but I digress).
This has been very long, and we’re just getting to complaints. Unlike complaints about the ship, I have yet to find an argument about why Cami sucks that isn’t factually incorrect, so if you have one please share. The first complaint I hear is that Cami is a copy of Caroline (I’ll give y’all that have seen the show a second to stop laughing at the statement). I’ve already explained why Caroline and Cami are two very different characters (hint: one is bubble and energetic and one is calm and mature), I know they’re both blonde, nice, empathetic, and have names that start with c, but try paying attention to what you’re watching then maybe you’ll have a better grasp on it. Secondly is that Cami’s only purpose is being Klaus’ love interest. Like I stated, there’s a lot Cami does where Klaus isn’t even present, unless you’re saying everyone Cami has had a story with was a love interest (So Davina, Josh, Hayley, Elijah, Marcel cerca season two onward, Vincent, Lucien, that detective guy, and her uncle Kieran), in that case I think y’all are onto something with Cami being a Mary Sue cause she getting all the action (note the sarcasm)! That’s another thing, people say Cami’s a Mary Sue cause almost everyone loves her and she has basically no flaws. First of all, I don’t believe Mary Sue to be a character problem but a story problem, and above all an excuse to neuter powerful women lest they make fragile men uncomfortable. Second of all, we see Cami form these relationships in real time through her actions not by her existence. Third of all (not that she needs them to be a good character since other favs don’t), Cami has her stubbornness that eventually got her killed and the fact that strength wise she is the weakest character in the show by her being human.
Are you catching on to some of what I’m saying? Most of these complaints aren’t even true, yet it’s all we hear. My first inclination was to blame this hatred on klaroline shippers who were bitter that their ship could no longer sail, but then I saw posts of people who claimed not to ship them and still hated Cami because she was “just a love interest.” Which leads into the other problem with haters: the hypocrisy. Reasons people hate Cami are elements in other characters that these same people love. Never mind the fact that some of these complaints don’t even apply to her like the love interest thing. To use something that isn’t a lie, people will hate on Cami for sleeping with Marcel in season one when Marcel is Klaus’ son, meanwhile y’all seem to forget Elena not only dated but cheated on Stefan with Damon in the finale of tvd season two (spoiler: she kissed him on his deathbed while her boyfriend and his brother was searching for a way to save him, which doesn’t even go into all their kisses in season three) and furthermore shipping Marcel with Rebekah who would be his aunt (I know some people who ship them acknowledge this but damn). I also know these people jumped at the chance to attack Cami for stealing the white oak stake in season three and ignoring what she was going through meanwhile will wave past everything Elena, Damon, and Caroline did when they had their humanity turned off as “they were going through a lot” (disclaimer: no hate to either of those girls, they were understandably in much pain, just wanna expose the hypocrisy). This all made me reevaluate the reasoning as more than just shippers being bitter, this seemed much more malicious to just be that.
After a lot of thought, my only conclusion I can come to is sexism. Cami is a very different female character than what we’re used to, she’s strong willed, opinionated, smarter than the men, and more mature. I guess fans weren’t ready for a character like that so assumed it was bad or just wrote her off as too different, but that’s giving the benefit of the doubt. To be honest, I still don’t know why she was so hated and continues to be ignored by fans, but maybe it’s time we start asking that question. It’s time we appreciate characters like this so maybe we can have more of them on the cw. It’s time to give Camille O’Connell and Leah Pipes the respect they deserve!
(P.S - Can someone far more talented than me please put out some Cami x reader content? I’m starved of my girl and Leah is too pretty for my gay brain to function!)

Characters: Cami O’Connell, Matt Donovan, Allison Argent
Cami O'Connell
How I feel about this character - overhated, deserves better, absolutely love her
All the people I ship romantically with this character - Klaus
My non-romantic OTP for this character - Elijah and Hayley
My unpopular opinion about this character - I like her better than Caroline
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon - that she wouldn't have died, and that she'd become a vampire on her own terms and not Aurora's
Matt Donovan
How I feel about this character - I honestly don't care for him at all. But he doesn't deserve all the hate. But he is a hypocrite at points
All the people I ship romantically with this character - Penny and Rebekah ig
My non-romantic OTP for this character - Tyler
My unpopular opinion about this character - he's not that bad of a character. He had every right to hate vampires bc they basically ruined his life
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon - that he would've moved far away from Mystic Falls
Allison Argent
How I feel about this character - MY LOVE. I love her. Deserved sm better.
All the people I ship romantically with this character - Scott and Lydia
My non-romantic OTP for this character - Stiles
My unpopular opinion about this character - most of her screentime in season 3 always had Isaac in them, and made most of her plot was a lust driven romance that was never gonna last anyway. The writers continuously try to shove them down our throats. Like we know they're gonna be a thing. Stop shoving them in the same room together every fucking episode
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon - that she was alive, and that she and Isaac never became a thing in the first place. They were awful
give me a character and I'll break their ass down

「     Hayley’s perspective of speaking to Cami after her death in 3x19 because it’s ANGST HOUR for @bravebartender     」
Hayley stares down at Cami’s decayed body, her vision blurry with the tears and chest tight with the grief. She’s so sick of losing people, of watching the ones she loves die. Jackson’s death was over in a minute, and Cami’s was prolonged, and Hayley doesn’t know which she would prefer — if Klaus is glad that he got to have a few more hours with her. It doesn’t really matter, in the grand scheme of things, because they’re both dead regardless, living on only in her and Klaus’ minds, and the minds of all that have loved them. Hope won’t even remember them, despite the fact that both Jack and Cami loved Hope so fucking much — like she was their own.
❝ You know, I’ve been thinking about how my little girl is never gonna know you, ❞ Hayley says thickly. ❝ It’s not fair. ❞ She shakes her head. ❝ Considering everything you did for her dad. ❞
If it weren’t for Cami, Hayley doesn’t know where or who Klaus would be right now. Cami has been his moral compass in a lot of situations — has been the one to step in and remind him that there is more to life than violence. And sometimes Hayley has been threatened by that, terrified that Klaus would take Hope and replace her with Cami as her mother — she’s sure he’s wanted Cami as her mother more than he wants Hayley to be, anyway — but now that she’s dead, all Hayley feels is a gaping emptiness and bleakness at the fact that she won’t be here at all.
❝ You know, sometimes I can’t stand him, ❞ Hayley tells her with a small chuckle, because that’s an understatement; there is not a person in this earth that infuriates Hayley more than Klaus Mikaelson. ❝ But I always figured if he liked you, he couldn’t be that bad. ❞
She knows Klaus has good in him — has witnessed it herself, has experienced it herself — but sometimes it’s so hard to see past everything else. Cami’s faith in Klaus has been Hayley’s only faith at times. If someone as good as Cami puts up with him, well, maybe there is hope. And if Klaus wants to be with someone as good as Cami, maybe he does want more and better.
She dreads to think of how he’s going to handle her death.
❝ This family owes you so much. You deserved better. ❞
Camille O’Connell deserved the world, and all she got was death. She deserved so much more than this life of violence she was trapped in simply because she loved Klaus.
Loving any of us is a death sentence, isn’t it? she said to Elijah after Jack died, the two of them sitting on her kitchen floor, and it’s a truth that they will never escape.
Hayley can’t stand to look at her decaying face anymore, so she takes a grip of the sheet and pulls it up over her face, shielding her from sight. A sob works its way up her throat. Hayley presses her palms against her cheeks, feeling the dampness of her tears, and pushes her index fingers into the corner of her eye in a vain attempt to halt the tears. Squeezing her eyes shut, she can’t stop her cries for another friend lost — one of the best she could’ve had.

Characters that deserved better part 1
None of them are perfect, I know that. All of them have made mistakes. But they would have deserved much better than they got, in my opinion - for different reasons. Most likely there will be part two later, since putting all of them in one update would make the post freakishly long. None of these gifs are mine, all the credits go to their respective owners.

Hi!! I saw that requests were open and I just read the Sweater fic and had to follow! 💓I was wondering if you could maybe do a song fic(like it’s loosely based off a song)? The song would be Delicate by Taylor Swift, I was thinking fluff and lil angst? With Klaus a human!reader 💓
HEY I"M SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG (and that it's absolute trash) I TRIED TO FINISH IT FASTER BUT THE ENDING WASN'T WORKING!!! I hope you like it, it's not quite what you asked for but I tried!!!
ALSO, attention lovelies, I've been reading everywhere people saying things like "Klaus keeps being written wrong". I, personally, don't think you can write a character wrong. The whole point of this is that you can do whatever you want with the character. So, that being said, if that's how you feel then you'll probably hate this. If not, enjoy babes!
Delicate | Klaus Mikaelson
Description: Based off the song "Delicate" by Taylor Swift. I did it to the acoustic version, not a big deal but the vibe matches that version better. Basically Y/n works at a bar in New Orleans, it's hinted at that it's Rousseau's but it isn't named. Klaus comes in looking for Camille but finds her instead. One thing leads to another and she ends up in the Mikaelson compound doing things she wouldn't normally do. Terrible description, even I don't know wtf I wrote. Good luck, you will need it.
Pairing: Klaus Mikaelson x Human!Reader
Warnings: It's cheesy. Like throw up in your mouth cheesy. Not realistic (to be fair what really is, isn't that why we do this?)
Word count: 3877
Tags: slight angst, FLUFF
(Not my picture :) )
Tumblr media
The bar where you work is empty, something that’s surprising at almost eleven on a Saturday. Usually it’s packed, filled with whoever the wind blows in from the streets of New Orleans. That being said, not the most model citizens. You run a cloth over the counter, wiping away non-existent crumbs. You don’t mind a full bar but tonight you’re drained. You don’t mind the silence.
There’s one person, a man, sitting at the end of the counter. He ordered a drink over an hour ago, one of the cheaper beers you have to offer, that he’s still nursing. He keeps checking the clock on the wall, every five minutes or so. Stood up. You see it a lot. You don’t feel like talking, though, especially not to a man who has just had his ego stomped on. You just keep wiping the counter.
The man finally leaves at a quarter to twelve. He lasted longer than most, you’ll give him that. You don’t feel bad for him. You don’t know him. There’s a chance he deserved it. Scratch that, you’re in New Orleans, he definitely deserved it. When he’s out the door you pour yourself a drink. You have an hour left, the bar’s dead, and you’ve cleaned everything. Twice. You deserve it.
When you take the first sip of your rum and coke, the bell above the front door chimes. You almost sigh but when you look up the air is knocked from your lungs. In front of you is a man, sandy blonde and tall. Handsome. That’s not why you can’t breathe, though. You see a lot of attractive men blow through your bar, if each one stole your breath you wouldn’t be very good at your job. No, the wind gets knocked from your lungs because of the blood on his grey t-shirt.
He marches to where you are and lays his hands flat on the counter. He doesn’t slam them. In all the scenarios where a dangerous looking man comes into an empty bar in search of trouble he always slams his hands down. He’s ruining the bad guy experience. His eyes are icy and, upon further inspection, glossy. Maybe ‘bad guy’ is the wrong label.
“I’m gonna cut to the chase, love, where is Camille?” His accent catches you off guard.
He means Camille O’Connell. You know her as Cami, though. You’ve been working with her for as long as you can remember. On busy nights, with the two of you manning the bar, you easily pull a couple hundred in tips each. She’s supposed to be here tonight but she had called in at the last minute and you hadn’t argued with her. Knowing Cami, if she called in then it was for something important.
You take another sip of your drink, cautiously answering, “sorry it’s just me tonight.”
He leans back, running his hand through his hair, tugging at the strands in the back, “alright, there goes that.”
It’s mumbled, like he’s talking more to himself than to you. He turns to leave and, for a reason you can’t quite explain, your heart sinks a little bit. It’s your turn to run your hand through your hair. You bite your lip nervously. You’re definitely going to regret this.
“Can I buy you a drink?”
He looks back at you, over his shoulder, a small smile on his face. His eyes flicker to the clock, sort of like how the man before him had, before settling back on you.
“What time are you off?” His question throws you off.
“I, ah,” you glance warily at him, your eyes darting to the stains on his shirt, “why?”
He chuckles lowly, chasing shivers up your spine, “don’t you trust me, love?”
This time you laugh. You’ve said it once, you’ll say it again: this is New Orleans. This isn’t the place you should trust easily. Although, looking back at him, his eyes flash with sincerity. That could easily be the rum though. Regardless, you can’t deny your curiosity. What do they say about that again?
“Should I?”
He smiles wide this time, his eyes piercing yours from across the room, “not if you ask anyone from this town.”
Oh yeah; they say it kills.
“I’m off in an hour, I'll meet you in the back.”
“Until then, love,” he parts, leaving nothing but the chiming bell in his wake.
You don’t realize how fast your heart is beating until he leaves. It drowns out the music drifting through the bar and you’re stuck with your thoughts. When you close your eyes you see his crystal ones and you shiver again. It dawns on you that you don’t even know his name. You don’t know anything about him. This is definitely a bad idea. You quickly down the remainder of your drink, pouring yourself another and pulling up a stool.
You pull out your phone; now is probably a good time to shoot Camille a text.
Hey, so a guy just came in asking about you.
Should I be worried?
12:02
A few minutes later your phone buzzes.
That depends, what does he look like?
12:04
You smile a little at her reply, typing back quickly.
Blonde, tall, blue-eyes. Spoke like he
knew you well.
12:04
This time her response is instant and chilling.
That was probably Klaus. If I'm
right trust me when I say you
want no part of that. I’m talking
major drama.
12:05
Your heart stops at her words and you think back to the blood on his shirt, feeling entirely stupid.
Is he dangerous?
12:06
Her answer takes longer than you would have liked, your pulse hammering in your eardrums for too long.
No.
12:11
You sigh in relief, clicking your phone off and setting it on the bar top.
After that the hour passes excruciatingly slow. Now you know how that man must have felt. You’ve probably looked at that clock a dozen times. After what feels like five, of what was supposed to be one, hours, the hand finally strikes ten to one. You sigh in relief as you rush to count the money in the till. After locking the front door and turning off all the lights, you check your appearance in the mirror behind the bar one last time. You smooth your hair down and pinch your cheeks lightly, although you’re not sure why. You’ve seen it in movies though, so you give it a shot.
You step out of the back door into the cool air, letting it wrap around your hot skin as you lock the door.
“Took you long enough,” you jump slightly at the smooth voice that greets you.
Klaus. Well, probably Klaus. You’re still not sure. You should be scared but you can’t bring yourself to do so. You can’t stop the smile that spreads on your face when you turn to meet him. He’s cleaned up, wearing a fresh crew-neck and some dark jeans. When he steps into the light you notice the dark circles under his eyes. For the second time tonight you find your heart aching for this man.
“Well, what are we doing now?” You tilt your head to the side, watching his eyes watch you in the alleyway.
“That depends, love, are you still up for that drink?”
Your heart flutters at his proposition, “if I remember properly, I’m the one who asked to buy you a drink.”
He walks over to you, offering you up his hand and sending you a delicious smirk, “call me old fashioned.”
You place your palm in his without a second thought, a side effect most likely caused from the alcohol warming your chest. He pulls you out of the alley and into the streets of the French Quarter. It’s teeming with life still, despite it being one in the morning. Music trickles out of bars that are still open, strings of lights and street lamps guiding you down the uneven cobble stones.
“You know, you still haven’t asked me my name,” your words float into the air, mingling with the music like a new song.
“Would you like me to ask you your name, love?”
You almost say no, if only to make sure that he doesn’t stop calling you by that word. Love. It makes your insides twirl.
“My name is Y/n,” you answer softly instead.
He repeats your name back, like he’s testing how it feels on his tongue, and smiles lightly. Your heart sings in your chest, a warm blush settling over your skin in the dim night. You wish you could record him and play it on a loop. You could get lost in the way he says your name.
“Well Y/n, love, aren’t you going to ask me my name?”
His thumb rubs circles and your mind goes fuzzy, “I don’t need to, Klaus.”
“Ah, I see you’ve been speaking to Camille. Tell me, what wonderful things did she have to say,” there’s a smile on his face but his tone is off; too cool.
You glance at his face. He’s staring ahead of you, his eyes locked on the horizon, refusing to meet your gaze. You squeeze his hand tighter, not saying anything right away. You’ve always tried to be the person who decides for herself. What you wear, what music you listen to. Who you like and, with that, who you don’t. In a city as wayward as this one, you try to avoid letting yourself be influenced by the likes, or dislikes, of others. It’s only fair.
“It doesn’t matter.”
He looks over to you, surprise laced in his eyes, “well, I suppose that’s good because we’re here.”
You don’t realize that you’ve stopped walking until he says that, your eyes drifting back in front of you. You can’t help but gasp at the sight. You can’t say you’ve never seen a house like this before but you can say that you’ve never been privy to being this close to one. It’s as grand as any New Orleans compound, held up by marvellous white columns and a porch that could probably hold three of your mother’s small farmhouse alone. The wrought iron gates and towering hedges that surround it add a hint of mystery to its beauty. It looks forbidden.
Klaus pulls you through the gate, your mouth still gaping at the scene in front of you. He chuckles, walking you to the front door, his eyes locked on your face. You can tell he’s soaking up your every expression and basking in it.
Your heart leaps when Klaus leans down to whisper into your ear, “you haven’t seen anything yet, love.”
And he’s right because when he opens the door your head spins. It’s a courtyard. Right there in the middle of the house. It’s breathtaking, every square inch of the space before you. Your eyes dart to the iron banisters surrounding the floors that seem to go on forever, reaching towards the sky which is visible through glass panels. Ferns hang from each floor, bowing to the beautiful fountain centered precisely in the middle of it all. You're in awe.
You also feel completely and utterly out of your element. Two hours ago you wouldn't have even dreamt that you would be standing somewhere a marvellous as this. It isn’t you. Not because you don't want it to be. Life just doesn’t always work out the way you want it to.
“This is,” you turn to the blue-eyed boy behind you, shaking your head slightly, “it’s just wow.”
You’re breathless. You feel like you have been since you met him. When he laughs though, like really genuinely laughs, you finally know what it truly feels like to be breathless. His laugh makes your heart stop and simultaneously restarts it at the same time. It’s oxygen. Before this moment you weren't breathing. This is what life feels like.
He leads you through a door, your eyes catching on every bit of the house you’re granted and on him. You watch the way his back moves through the fabric of his shirt and how his eyes dart to every door you pass, like he’s trying to picture what’s behind them. You’re just as amazed by him as you are the house, perhaps even more so.
Klaus brings you to a kitchen, one modern in comparison to the history you had passed on the way here. It's stark white and open. Beautiful, just like everything else you’ve seen so far. You’re not sure how much more you can take.
“Take a seat,” he gestures to the marble counter top where you gladly pull out a stool, “I’ll see what I can find.”
You watch him dig through the many cupboards lining the kitchen, admiring the way his shirt rides up slightly when he reaches above the sink. He pulls out a bottle filled with a honey coloured liquid, setting it in the sink.
“I can feel you staring, love, didn't anyone ever tell you that’s impolite,” his words bring immeasurable heat to your cheeks among other places.
When he turns back around to face you his crystal eyes are teasing, a casual smirk on his lips. He grabs the bottle again, stalking over to you with a look you can’t quite place. It pools more heat in all the places it shouldn't and makes it impossible to look away from him. When he reaches you he sets the alcohol behind your back. What he does next knock the wind from your lungs, again. Are you even surprised anymore?
He grabs you by the waist, picking you up as if you weigh nothing and swiftly setting you on the edge of the counter. Your hands grasp at his shoulders, trying to steady yourself from falling. The cold marble bites through the material of your pants, sending a new sensation coursing through your veins. He steps between your legs, caging you against the counter.
“That’s better now, isn't it.”
You’re pulse pounds rapidly in your ears, adrenaline swimming through your body. You’re eye level with him for the first time since meeting him. Under the bright lights of the kitchen you can see the sapphire ring around his pupils. Your heart jumps when you watch them expand, the black in his eyes dominating the blue. His shoulders relax under your fingers. You know you should move your hands but, by god, you don’t want to.
“Don’t you want that drink?” It’s not even convincing to your ears, let alone his.
With him so close to you, you can smell his cologne. It’s like water, cool and fresh. Absolutely intoxicating.
His pupils blow wide again and he swallows, his hand sliding up from your hips to cup your cheek, “do you?”
“Klaus,” his name flies from your lips like a question, one that you’re not sure if you want an answer to or not.
Your hands move to the base of his neck, pulling him closer to you. Your actions surprise you. You’ve never been like this. You’re a kiss at the end of the date kind of girl. A month of waiting kind of girl. A practical, keep to herself, kind of girl. Not this daring girl who sits on countertops in beautiful houses with gorgeous men. Men who look at her like they want to eat her up in ways that no one ever thought to warn her about.
He steps impossibly closer to you. His hand, the one still on your hip, slides down your thigh, pulling your leg up around his waist and holding you against him. Your fingers twist in the hair at the base of his neck, pulling a groan from his lips that lights your whole body on fire.
“Why did you come with me, love? I'm not good, surely Camille told you that,” he sighs his words, dipping his head back, further into your hand, his eyes closing.
His thumb rubs heated circles on your thigh and you have to bite back a moan, “I wanted to. For the first time in a long time I did something I wanted.”
He leans in, his face inches from yours, his breath hot on your lips, “my reputation isn’t exactly the best around here. I am told that I’m something of a monster.”
You wrap your other leg around his waist, squeezing them around him, causing his hand to tighten on your thigh, “I guess I don’t care.”
Klaus’ eyes flash black and the next thing you know his lips are on yours, moving against yours with a desperation you didn’t know that you’ve been craving. Your hands tug at his sandy hair, gripping at the soft curls with the same fervour. His hands hold your thighs tighter, crushing you against him. He pulls your bottom lip between his teeth, tugging harshly before soothing it with his tongue. You moan against his lips, your cheeks burning with equal parts embarrassment and passion.
He smiles darkly, pulling away slightly before reattaching his lips to your neck. He bites down, his tongue drawing circles on your sensitive skin. You groan into the empty space of the kitchen, holding him against you. You’ve been kissed before, but not like this. Everywhere his mouth lands sends more shocks racing down your spine. It’s wonderful, the way every part of your body is calling his name.
“Klaus,” his name falls from your lips; a prayer for something you don’t have the words to describe.
He pulls his head from your neck, leaning his forehead against yours, lightly kissing your lips, “how about we move this somewhere a little more private, yeah?”
You nod fast, crashing your lips harder against his. He stands, taking you with him. He’s out of the kitchen and up the stairs so quick that your head spins. Any other time you would have been upset that you didn't get to see more of this beautiful house but right now you're fully consumed by Klaus. His scent curls around you, lifting you higher than any man should be able to. Your arms cling around his shoulders, keeping you flush against his chest.
His lips stay on yours the entire jaunt to his bedroom, only separating when he tosses you onto his bed. The giggles fall easily from your mouth. You can’t help but bask in the soft comforter, inhaling as much of him as you can. He walks towards you, slowly, like a tiger on the prowl, pulling the tee off his body and discarding it on the floor without a second thought. Your eyes slide to his chest, glued to his toned stomach.
He climbs onto the bed, pulling you by your hips towards him. You roll, pinning him to the bed, your legs straddling his hips. He looks shocked, like no one’s ever done that with him before. How sad it must be to feel like you always have to be in control. You smirk down at him, pulling your own shirt over your head, exposing your lacy bra to him. His eyes turn black again, pooling heat in the pit of your stomach with just a look.
You lean down, your hands on his chest, fingertips running over the dips on his abdomen. He closes his eyes, his hands hanging loosely on your hips. He looks at peace. You don’t know him but you have a feeling he doesn’t get to feel this way often. Your heart breaks for him, again, and you don’t mind.
You lean down, placing your lips where your hands had been.
“Fuck,” Klaus’ hand wraps in your hair, his stomach tightening under your touch.
You work your way up, stopping every so often to suck his skin into your mouth. The sounds coming from his mouth make you glow, pushing you to do your absolute best. You kiss your way up his chest, giving extra attention to his collarbone. You nip at the side of his neck, his arms wrapping around your back. When you finally make it to his lips, you press a soft kiss to them, holding his face gently in your hands.
He sighs into your kiss, setting your insides on fire for the hundredth, “what do you want me to do?”
He looks up at you, a small smile playing at the corner of his lips. His hands rub your back lightly. He leans his face into your hand, kissing your palm. Your heart flutters rapidly in your chest.
His answer catches you off guard, an unfamiliar warmth settling over, “I want to hold you. Please, love?”
You can’t help the smile that takes over your face, “you want to cuddle with me?”
“Do you have to say it like that?” He sits up, keeping you on his lap, his hands sliding up and down your exposed back.
His head falls against your neck, kissing gently, “I’m just surprised. Since when do guys bring girls home to do anything decent?”
You lean against him, your arms falling around his shoulders without a second thought. It’s so natural, like you’ve known him your entire life. It almost isn’t fair that the universe had been hiding this. Clearly he’s been around. He knows Cami. He’s obviously been in the bar before. He was there just always out of your reach.
“I don’t,” your skin tingles with his hums, “not usually.”
Your heart sinks into your stomach, much too far considering you barely know him, “why start now?”
Your words are harsher than you intend for and he pulls back, staring into your eyes, “I don’t know, love, you're just different.”
Your cheeks burn, a recurrence that’s starting to bother you, “what does that mean?”
You’re frustrated. For multiple reasons. You feel different, odd. He makes you feel things that you haven’t felt in a very long time, if ever. You’ve made choices you tonight that you wouldn’t normally make. You don’t feel like yourself. You like that you don’t feel like yourself but that means you also don't know who you are right now, which you don’t like. If you’re not you then who are you? Clearly you're the girl that jumps into bed with strangers, even if it’s not to sleep with them. You feel hot all over and you hate it.
“I don’t know,” he pushes away a strand of hair that you don’t realize had fallen, “what do you think?”
It’s not sarcastic but you wish it was so you wouldn't have to answer, “I think that this isn’t me. That I don’t do this. Ever. And that you’re breaking your end of the one night stand pact.”
His thumb skims over your cheek and you have to steel yourself from the shivers it causes, “love, I wasn’t aware that this was a one night stand. Is that what you want?”
Your mouth falls open slightly, your eyes stuck to his sparkling ones, “I-”
He presses his mouth to yours before you can answer, his hands holding you against him. You don’t fight him, you just sink into his arms once more. You let yourself revel in the warmth of his chest.
“Let’s not make any promises, love."

Merlin and The Originals
I’ll answer The Originals in this one and make a separate post about Merlin, because this is already getting quite long whoops...
Favourite male character: This might not come as a surprise, but Elijah Mikaelson. I just love him alright? Monster in a suit, the ‘noble‘ brother who was introduced by slicing someone’s head off. He is everything I want from a vampire.
Favourite female character: Cami O’Connell. This one was difficult. She was tied with Hayley and Rebekah. But Rebekah left after s1, and Hayley has been up and down in her characterisation, especially in the later seasons. So I have to go with Cami for this one!
Least favourite character: Aurora. Hands down. She reminded me of the worst of TVD. The crazy ex with whom our main character had a ‘mysterious‘ past? The love of his life until tragedy tore them apart? She was strangely predictable, given her ‘craziness.’ And I didn’t buy the ‘love of Klaus’ life part‘ that is obviously Rebekah or Cami. She just bugged me.
Favorite Ship: I’m going to cheat and say Klebekjah. The Always and Forever OT3. This is their show, and all other relationships will be overshadowed by the love they have for each other. So this included Klelijah, Relijah and Klebekah of course. Honourable mention to Haylijah. They are a close second. Gotta love myself a doomed pair who were done dirty by the writing.
Favorite Friendship: Hayley and Marcel. They were antagonistic towards each other in s1, but the vamps and wolves worked well together during their leadership. I love their friendship a lot.
Favorite Quote: “The monster in me can only be checked by the monster in you.” This quote and the whole speech are one of the highlights of the show. It’s part of the thesis statement why these characters and their dynamics are so endlessly fascinating.
Worst Character Death (if any): This one was difficult, but I’m going with Hayley here, because Cami got the favourite female character spot. Hayley’s death was senseless, and stupid. Her whole story in s5 was to just die and serve as menpain for Klaus and Elijah, and make Hope a Sad Orphan TM so Julie Plec could have her Legacies series. I am still so angry about that. She deserved much better than to be served off for some stupid teenage show.
This made me so happy you have no idea Moment: The whole of 2x09. It had the Klaus/Hayley + Hope reunion, Klebekah reunion, Haylijah on the same page again, Kol aiding them, the OT3 in the same room and talking. Good stuff.
Saddest Moment: Basically all of them?? I guess I’ll go with the end of s4. Klaus once again having to leave Hope. The OT3 separating. And Elijah losing his memories. That sequence were they have all these moments laid out, ending with the always and forever vow and it disappearing? Damn.
Favorite Location The compound. I love all the various rooms and hallways and how they use the angles for the composition. There are always small details in each room. I still can’t truly believe it is all a set. True craftsmanship goes into building those sets.

@fightforsomethingbetter said “You deserved far better than this."
Tumblr media
Well, that was probably an understatement. And yet, Cami had been the one to involve herself in all of this. She was the one to push to find out what happened to her brother, she had gotten wrapped up in all of this and it had ultimately got her killed. “I wouldn’t be so sure about that. Kinney was right in what he said, somehow there’s always an O’Connell involved in this city. It literally runs in my blood, so.. I would’ve still ended up involved even if I never met any of you.”

I'm actually watching the new Roswell, NM and I've stumbled across the anti carina tag due to some drama on her twitter. I don't understand what all the hate is about though, I never watch TVD or TO so am at a loss. Any chance of a quick summary? I'm worried about investing in RNM if there's a problematic show runner.
If it’s Twitter drama that first got your attention that’s where I’ll start.
TVD and TO have some of the most unprofessional crew I’ve ever seen. Julie Plec (who, while not showrunner, is an exec producer) has repeatedly started up drama to try to get various different facets of her shows’ fandoms to fight each other. She outright demonized one group and made it out like they were a bunch of basement dwelling psychos trying to ruin the show and the lives of everyone involved. Also, Plec is an expert at throwing people under the bus. If an idea lands well, then it was her idea. If it flops, then it was someone else’s and she had nothing to do with it. She did this to three people that I know of, all of whom wound up leaving.
Carina Mackenzie is effectively Julie Plec’s protege, and shows a lot of the same attitude. Starting twitter fights and then trying to play the victim. During season 3 or so of TO, someone involved in production got annoyed enough at someone or something that they started sending out spoilers. This was mostly in the form of anon asks to @klarolinedrabbles and @hellsbellschime. Carina tried to make them (mostly hellsbellschime even though she wasn’t the one who got most of the spoilers) out to be misogynistic harpies who were trying to sabotage the entire show…via answering anons on tumblr blogs.
Now then, onto the meat of it all: the writing on the show.
Julie Plec and Carina Mackenzie are awful writers. Seriously, Mackenzie published a book that @cbk1000 did a read through of it and it is bad. The prose is bad, the grammar sucks, the characters are idiots. And while a writer on TO, Mackenzie’s episodes were almost always of lesser quality. Their writing is also very plot oriented as opposed to character motivated. They come up with an idea and then hack at the characterization until the characters will do it, whether it makes sense for that character or not
But beyond that, The Originals is the most misogynistic show I have ever seen. The entire premise of it is built on the fact that Klaus’ daughter, who in season 1 was not even born yet, will heal 1,000 years worth of parental issues, abandonment issues, possessiveness, sadism, cruelty and a bunch of other things because Klaus Mikaelson was a horrible person who really should not have been raising children. And this theme of ‘it is the duty of the child to therapize their parent and make them better’ is something that comes up repeatedly throughout the series and it is not something the audience is meant to question.
@hellsbellschime did a good meta on two of the most prominent female characters on TO Camille O’Connell and Davina Claire (http://hellsbellschime.tumblr.com/post/143777003046/cami-davina-and-the-problem-with-women-on-the).
TVD is grossly misogynistic as well, Caroline’s mom gets brain cancer and that entire plot was contrived as a way to guilt Stefan into dating her. A lesbian couple commit suicide because one of them gets infected with a fatal blood born illness
Bonnie Bennett, resident witch and only black woman in TVD literally died at one point and none of her friends noticed. She had a guy who could talk to the dead send text messages and post cards (WHICH WOULD BE WRITTEN IN HIS HANDWRITING) but no one hears her voices for months. No one tries to call her after her father gets murdered. The only realize it when they need her to do something and she isn’t there. Which is a constant for her. She’s the one who fixes everything, she has to stand tall, bury her pain which no one will help her heal from, and fix other people’s problems.
Sorry this is rambly, and there are over a thousand other things but the gist is: Julie Plec and Carina Mackenzie are awful writers. Their writing is misogynistic, homophobic, racist and just all around bad. From what I’ve heard, they already sidelined one of the major characters after casting a black woman to play her.
My honest advice would be to stop watching. It’s not worth it to get invested in their work because their work is shit. They do not care about their characters, they do not care about their audience and in my opinion they do not deserve to be employed in the industry.

(  i talk about cami a lot  )
um, hi. camille o’connell is the most unfairly hated character on the originals. all she wanted was good in the world. she wanted happiness for herself, she wanted to find peace. not in death, but within herself. for sean. listen, girl loves her brother so much and she never had that opportunity to say goodbye. and in the beginning, everything was for him. majoring in psychology was not just for herself. ( aurora attempted to imply it was in order to understand her own dark impulses after assaulting the guy at the university ) her primary focus, however, when it came to that subject was to understand why sean did what he did. he wasn’t crazy, and she knew that.
honestly, camille o’connell deserves the world and more. under canon circumstances, she convinced klaus to have hope, to have the child that the series is entirely based off of, she became vincent’s best friend ( and hi im a sucker for camcent, give me my brotp pls and thank ), she fought against vampires for fucks sake. as a human. as nothing who would be of much power against them. and she was brave. the brave bartender is pretty fitting to be honest. and many people don’t agree. many people assume she’s a carbon copy, utilised only as a love interest. but let me tell you this, she is not. she is her own character. someone with her own morals. her own mind. and she deserves so much better than what the fandom had to say about her, and how the cw decided to treat her.

Okay! First post, better make it count!
I think my biggest problem with klaroline as a “love story” is the fact that it never really was a story to begin with. Their moments were a series of scenes that were never connected by a plot other than the “good girl, bad boy” trope. I’m not saying you can’t ship superficial romances, I love my fair share of them as well as crack ships. It’s the fact that people are still stating this was a wasted potential love story for the ages, when the conclusion to this dynamic was the most accurate you can get: a one night stand. Be honest, watch any scene of them from season four of tvd and explain to me why I needed to watch season three to truly understand it. The lamp scene doesn’t turn me off because of the toxicity, it turns me off because we are halfway through season four at this point, and their relationship hasn’t changed remotely from the previous season. What even differentiates Klaus healing her that episode versus last season? It’s the exact same scene but with slightly more history. And Caroline has to pet his ego to get him to save her life! I’m not asking for much, I’m a woman who likes a story, and those two were a collection of oneshots loosely connected by the story taking place around them. Which brings us to my favorite ship in the tvdverse.
Klamille is my otp, despite the fact that I think Cami deserves so much better. I might be a bit biased cause Camille is my favorite female character for reasons I can explain at a later date. Take notes, this is a story! An arc that lasts three seasons, with every scene working to move their relationship along. Okay! Firstly, the fact that every season switches up their dynamic. With both of them getting more comfortable around each other after every season. Cami letting her guard down around him, and Klaus learning to let his guard down around her. Their growing bond from respecting to trusting to loving one another is handled at a reasonable pace that takes its time. Secondly, their dynamic is such a twist on the “fixing the bad boy” trope. As they state in the show, Cami was never the light that guided Klaus out of the darkness, she gave him the torch so he could find the way out himself. She made him believe after a thousand years he could be a better man, and he took that and grew on his own. As a fan of this trope, it is so refreshing to see it done in a way that isn’t toxic and unhealthy.
People who hate this ship will point to Klaus’ compulsion as proof that I’m a hypocrite for not shipping klaroline when Klaus hurt Camille “just as much.” Like I said earlier, the lamp scene was IN THE MIDDLE OF SEASON FOUR! After a whole season of supposed build up between the “couple.” On the other hand, Klaus compelling Cami was in the first half of season one, after that point when Cami breaks free they enter a period of distrust before Klaus makes up for his mistakes by trying to help her uncle. Their relationship goes through this thing called an “arc.” As for him biting her at the end of season two, that was a part of Klaus’ plan to deceive Dahlia and inform Elijah on what he was doing. Something that is made quite clear when Klaus APOLOGIZES and vows to make it up to her later. The last complaint is that Cami is his therapist which places their relationship into problematic territory. That I can’t argue, it genuinely is the one set back with this ship. However, considering we had Elena dating both the Salvatore brothers, Hayley getting with the brother of her baby daddy, Caroline temporarily dating her high school teacher after getting pregnant with his children (technically? It’s complicated), the whole Damon and Andie thing (seriously wtf?), and Delena as a whole the whole doctor-patient thing isn’t really an issue for me (in another show, that might be a different story).
I’m sorry this has been such a long rant, but it’s 2021 and people are still sleeping on the gold mine that was klamille, the outstanding character that was Camille O’Connell, and the show that while flawed, had two seasons that emotionally shook me more than the vampire diaries ever could. In conclusion, klamille is better than klaroline, Cami is an amazing character that deserves all the love, and seasons two and three of TO is better than the whole of TVD.

Note
cami o’connell for the character asks! ❤️
Sexuality headcanon: Pansexual, I just get that vibe.
Favorite ship(s): Klamille
Brotp: her and Elijah, her and Marcel, her and Davina, and her and Vincent
Notp: None
A random headcanon: She brought the Mikaelson Fam into one room for a one big therapy session, and it all goes wrong and she tries to calm the situation down. So it would turn out like this cutscene from gta 5 where Michael and his family are at his therapist office and him and his wife, Amanda screamed at each while their kids just were one their phones. That would be Klaus with either Kol, Rebekah or Hayley.
General opinion: Such an overhated character, who's also one of my many comfort characters. She deserved sm better.

The watery graves of New Orleans’ lost souls have begun the boil and steam. They are angry; they will not be appeased. Their fury burns red-hot, and they are coming to b u r n this kingdom of devils until it is the hell it deserves. For if the lost souls of New Orleans can’t have this city...
... Then it may as well be ash.
Beneath the cut, you’ll find an extensive summary of the character-specific plot drops that will occur during our event.
Please note that while we have laid out this guide, it is up to the individual roleplayers to decide when and how to start these threads. In order to do so effectively, please makes sure to read or at least skim each other’s threads on the dash, so as to make sure your character jumps it at the right time (in the case of a three-way para, for example) and doesn’t interrupt the flow/chronological order that is roughly set out in the summary below. Also, please read ALL of the plot under the cut; not just the section that pertains to your character. This will become increasingly significant as the event goes on.
The event will take place in three stages. Before moving onto the next section, a post will be published on the Main. Open/casual starters are permitted aside from the plot-threads listed below, though please manage your time accordingly so that the plot-threads are completed by the end of the event. Please tag your starters with VNCarreRavage and VNStarter! If you have any questions, ideas, or concerns, please do not hesitate to message the Main!
Most of all, remember to be inclusive to as many people as possible (without biting off more than you can chew), get creative, and enjoy!

In order to celebrate Davina Claire’s seventeenth birthday, her guardian, Marcel Gerard is throwing a jazz concert in her honour. The concert is being staged at the world-famous French Opera House (Théâtre de l'Opéra) of New Orleans. But for the lonely little witch, the glitz and the glam pale in comparison to her first taste of freedom, of normalcy. For one night she’ll be allowed to celebrate like any other teen on their birthday - and Marcel has even allowed her to invite three guests of her own choosing. Joshua Rosza, Malia Tate, and Camille O’Connell are the friends she chooses. Parties aren’t Malia’s preferred scene, but she’s going to go as a favour to Davina, and because she couldn’t decipher half of the foods on the menu - which must mean it’ll be swanky and hopefully delicious. As for Cami, Marcel cheats a little and decides to invite her not as a mere guest - but as his date for the evening. Though this move gets Davina’s seal of approval, it risks Cami’s when she witnesses an exchange between Marcel and one of his ‘community workers’ that ends on a particularly volatile note. Will she stay, or will she go?... Her uncle, Father Kieran sees all from a distance, but has more to worry about than his niece’s (questionable) choice in escorts. The real reason for his presence at such a worldly event is because Marcel promised to use it as a platform to bring publicity to the chain of gruesome murders that have been happening over the last few months. The priest hopes that this publicity will apply pressure on the power-holders of the city in order to prioritize finding the culprit and putting an end to the killing-spree.
Enter the prettily inoffensive Jennifer Blake. She hasn’t been invited to the soirée, but after taking care of that delightful old bag of bones - Sister Friede - in her last sacrifice, Jennifer’s eyes are pinned to the priest in order to see what he’ll do next. So she’s gotten as close to the event as she dares, in the hopes that she’ll manage to charm her way inside at the door. Meanwhile, other women would happily trade places with the school-teacher, including a pregnant and very uncomfortable Evelyn Jones. She doesn’t want to be in a stifling dress and at an event chock-full of strangers who see her merely as a stand-in for her VIP husband, who is, predictably, too busy to attend the concert for himself. Equally high-profile guests include Lydia Martin, who’s practically preening herself at the opportunity to attend the soirée as her mother’s +1. Oh, the perks of being the Mayor’s daughter... Even more fortunate are those directly connected to Marcel; including Damon Salvatore - who received the shock of his undead life upon receiving one of the elusive invites in the mail. He knows the pretext of amity is nothing more than a craftily hidden political message after his last conversation with Marcel; ’common enemies breed strange bedfellows’. He’s a-okay with that, and if he can mix pleasure with business on such a night, then all the better for it.
But one look at Katherine Pierce and that smug smile may quickly disappear from his lips. What could Marcel possibly want with the traitorous, backstabbing bitch? It’s clear she hasn’t slipped in via the backdoor either; not with how the doppelganger’s sauntering around as if she owns the place. But Katherine’s on a mission - She's there partly out of Marcel's desire to keep his enemies close, and partly because he's tasked her with information-gathering on his guests. She may not give a damn about the murder spree making all the headlines lately (after all, Katherine has enough skeletons in her own closet), but if the Vampire King insists, she’ll charm and compel his guests into loosening their tongues on whatever they know. It’s always ideal to be in the king’s favor. But Katherine and Damon aren’t the only two likely to butt-heads tonight. Marcel’s calculating intent is revealed when Hayley Labonair and Derek Hale realize that they have both been invited as the honorary representative (note: single) of the wolves of the Bayou. Despite the bloom of their own private relationship, the deft, political move on Marcel’s part is a slight to each of their egos and an impassioned exchange leads to palpable tension on both their parts. Divided, he conquers.
Then there are those outside. The willing; like Kira Yukimura who lives nearby and occasionally perches out behind the building where the wafting music inspires her creative writing - and the unwilling. Two of Miss Blake’s other students join her in the latter camp; Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski. Unlike their teacher, however, they’ve had better luck at busting their way into the venue; largely thanks to Stiles’ sleuthing skills and despite Scott’s nervous objections. Getting in is one thing - blending in will be another matter entirely. Especially with the likes of Chris Argent; invited as Marcel’s guest and clandestine representative of the Hunter’s Guild - and Matt Donovan; who was fortunate enough to be invited along with a few other members of the NOPD in gratitude for his volunteerism with the police force. Like Kira, Cora Hale is happy to remain outside of the lavish event, although she wishes her elder brother had the brains to do the same. After the string of murders and her pervading distrust of the vampires in the Quarter under Marcel’s rule, she wants Derek as far away from the supposed ‘festivities’ as possible. Jackson Kenner shares the sentiment, and is equally disappointed in Hayley for blindly accepting the invitation. He tells himself that his frustration has nothing to do with the fact that he - the longstanding Alpha in the Bayou was snubbed from the guest-list - and hopes his gut feeling about this entire charade doesn’t end up being right. For all their sake.
The following characters will not be participating in this first stage of the event, but will make their appearance in the second stage: Alaric Saltzman, Bonnie Bennett, Elena Gilbert, Jeremy Gilbert, John Alden.
