✩🐴🎶Review:
Another perfect cowboy romance from Elsie Silver!
Picking up where “Flawless” left off, “Heartless” follows Cade Eaton, the world’ grumpier single dad in search of a nanny, and Willa Grant, the fiery woman who takes the job. The arrangement is only meant to last two months, but turns into a lifetime when they both let down their walls and let their love for each other blossom.
Like the first novel in the Chestnut Springs series, this book alternates between the two love interests’ perspectives. Cade and Willa’s personalities are the definition of grumpy x sunshine. Seriously…Cade is as grumpy as they come, resulting in Willa’s opposite personality driving him to the edge of insanity. At the same time, she is the only one to see him for who he is instead of the heartless man others think his circumstances forced him to become. Just like Cade is the only one to help Willa realize her worth.
Their chemistry is not only truly off the charts, but is also well-developed by Silver. I could not get enough of the romantic tension and the small moments they shared like dancing at The Railspur.
Cade’s love for his son Luke in this book is so heartwarming. I appreciate how Silver makes Luke a central character rather than leaving him in the periphery. He plays a large role in helping Willa finding her calling in life as a mother and come to the realization that she fits in with their little family.
This might just be my favorite book of Silver’s, but only time will tell. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series and seeing my other favorite characters find their true love.

there's only a grunt muffled into the pillow she is curled around. she can handle her alcohol. she do ! she can ! but it was just supposed to be lunch with drinks with summer, sloane, winter and bailey. it however moved onto dinner with drinks and then sitting on the front porch of summer's house for the better part of the evening. how she had gotten home ? that's not a memory she can really collect. definitely not her own doing that she's gotten out of her jeans and shirt, and into some pj's. head lift every so little, eyes squint in the light and stomach lurch at the small movement.     ❝   oh, i'm going to die.   ❞      low mumble as she focus up on cade for only a second or two, a groan pulled from the back of her throat as she relax back into the mattress. ❝   i'm dying.   ❞      a declaration, something she is quickly getting accustomed to actually. would be better than this headache and the last thing on her mind right now has got to be how her hair is looking.

anyone who has read Powerless by Elsie Silver… did y’all feel like it was just like… weak?
i skipped powerless and read Flawless, Heartless and Reckless before circling back.
i mean you come off of two fantastic stories. the smut in Flawless and Heartless is just 10/10 chefs kiss bravo. the angst of Flawless is just like ugh stab me in the chest. I would literally go to war for Cade, Luke and Willa. And then you jump to Reckless where you have the literal human form of a golden retriever and a black cat. Theo Dale Silva i would willing have your children. There’s also the hint that something big is gonna go down in the next book, Hopeless with Beau coming back after being MIA
but then Powerless is just like… there
I love Jasper and his one liners but Sloane?? Girl, why did you dance after Jasper told you his trauma??? What in Gods name possessed you to do that???
anyway, someone else tell me i’m not crazy

“Flawless”, by Elsie Silver
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
NOT SUITABLE FOR UNDERAGE READERS
• Rate: 4.5/5.0 • Description:
“The rules were simple. Keep my hands off his daughter and stay out of trouble.
But now I’m stuck with her. There’s only one bed. And well, rules are made to be broken.
I’m the face of professional bull riding—the golden boy. Or at least I was, until it all blew up in my face. Now my agent says I have to clean up my image, so I’m stuck with his ball-busting daughter for the rest of the season as my “full-time supervision.”
But I don’t need a goddamn babysitter, especially one with skin-tight jeans, a sexy smirk, and a mouth she can’t stop running.
A mouth I can’t stop thinking about.
Because Summer isn’t just another conquest. She sees the man behind the mask, and she doesn’t run—she pulls me closer, even when she shouldn’t.
She says this means nothing.
I say this means everything.
She says there are boundaries we shouldn’t cross. That my reputation can’t take any more hits—and neither can her damaged heart.
I say I’m going to steal it anyway.”
• Review:
Flawless is the first book in the Chestnut Springs series, followed by the already published Heartless and the upcoming Powerless, to be published in February, 2023.
Our journey begins when the two main characters, Rhett Eaton and Summer Hamilton, are forced to work and live together to clean up his image after a scandal that lost him some sponsors in the middle of the bull riding championship season.
Although it’s not quite an enemies-to-lovers per sé, we do get that kind of sexual tension between two people who don’t quite like each other and who definitely shouldn’t but surely are feeling a mutual and strong attraction, that become harder and harder to deny as they spend more time together.
The way Elsie Silver told Rhett and Summer’s story is so natural and captivating, it’ll leave you thinking about nothing else but what happens next, whenever your nose is not stuck into this book. The flame between the couple burns slowly in the most positive sense of the word, and we can actually feel the romance and desire building up in their relationship.
But our main couple are not the only ones to make us laugh, swoon and sigh. Cade, Beau and Harvey Eaton, Jasper Gervais, Kip Hamilton and Willa Grant, all have such different personalities and unique dynamics with each of the MCs that it’s almost impossible not to want to read more and more about them as well. Good thing Flawless is not their first and only appearance *wink wink*.
To all of those who love an easy reading featuring an adorable, hot and well-written romance, Flawless is surely going to make your heart race and your body heat increase in the most delicious of ways.

2024 Book List!
Not that anyone will care about this but I wanted to do it and have fun!! Here is a list of the books I have read so far this year and some of my thoughts!
1. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
This was my favorite book of the Hunger Games trilogy. I haven’t read A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes but I do have it. I started the Hunger Games to cope with the fact that I didn’t have the next book for Throne of Glass, but I still loved it I cant wait to watch the movies!!
2. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
I still to this day have no idea what this ending was and I didn’t like the book enough to try and figure it out. It was alright, didn’t love the ending, and Katiness honestly pissed me off.
3. Heartless by Elsie Silver
Oh my GOD I LOVE THIS BOOK. This is the second book in the Chestnut Springs Series (Flawless, Heartless, Powerless, Reckless, Hopeless) Cade is the standard I have for men now. He is him. I want a grumpy, mid thirties, cowboy to tell me everything’s gonna be okay. Cade and Willa are my lord and saviors.
4. Powerless by Elsie Silver
This is the third book in the Chestnut Springs Series (Flawless, Heartless, Powerless, Reckless, Hopeless) and it was some of the best character development I’ve ever read about. It was fanfuckingtastic. So good, so we’ll thought out and so god damn smutty. Jasper is so 🤭🤭🤭 with his 6’4 tattooed ass.
5. Reckless by Elsie Silver
Theo. Silva. Is. Him. Bullriders are hot. Convince me otherwise. You cannot. Again, some amazing fucking character development form the FMC (Winter Hamilton). I love love love this book. My heart was so happy in the end.
6. Credence by Penelope Douglas
What the actual fuck did I just read. So…. She goes to love with her dads step brother and his two sons in the remote mountains of Colorado. And they get snowed in for the winter. And she’s the only women around. For five months. I’m gonna let y’all figure out the rest. But it has good moments? I think? It was so weird and I’m mad at myself for thinking some of it was hot. It’s fiction, it’s not real. (I’m delusional).
7. Where Broken Wings Fly by J. Rose
This book was outstanding. Fantastic character development and a really good portrayal of PTSD. It’s about a mom and her daughter who escape an arrange, abusive marriage and flee from Mexico to a remote mountain Villingen in England. The cliffhanger at the end made me want to absolutely tear down my house brick for brick to find the answers but I supposed buying the second book will do. It was so good, super smutty, absolutely beautiful.
8. How Does It Feel? By Jeneane O’Riley
What. The. Fuck. WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK. I AM SO NOT OKAY????? Those last two chapters had some Fourth Wing level plot twists that I had no hope of predicting. I am in shambles rn. Absolutely distressed over this fucking god damn mother fucking book. It’s about a biologist who falls through a faerie portal, onto the crowded prince. They think she’s an assassin sent to kill him, and he puts her through a lot of torture to prove her innocence. NOTHING. AND. I. MEAN. NOTHING. will prepare you for this ending.
9. Hopeless by Elsie Silver
AMAZING. 11/10 Elsie silver kills it ever time. This story is about Beau and Bailey. Arranged fake marriage, enemies to friends to lovers. He’s a medically retired special ops military guy and she’s got the worst last name in town. So cute. So sweet. So spicy. Beau Eaton is the standard I have for men now. He’s everything I need. Love love LOVE
10). One Dark Window by Rachel Ginning
My favorite book of the year. Hands down. I cannot stress how much I LOVED. THIS. FUCKING. BOOK. The main character Elspyth has been infected as a child and now harbors raw, unfiltered magic. It is a crime to use magic without the use of the Providence Cards. There are twelve Cards and they all give you separate abilities (strength, speed, beauty, to control others minds, influence emotions and so on). She had the ability to absorb the magic from these cards and now has one of them living inside her head. She teams up with a band of rebels to reunite the Cards in the deck to lift a deadly mist from their town. It’s insanity. It’s so crazy good idk how NO ONE HAS SAID ANYTHING I HAVE NEVER ONCE SEEN THIS BOOK ON BOOKTOK OR IG AND ITS CONCERNING. easily the best world building I’ve ever read. I finished the book last night and the second one will be here today 😭😭

💜BOOK REVIEW💜
Heartless by Elsie Silver
Finished November 2023
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cade Eaton is a single dad, a full time rancher and has a permanent scowl. His mood is only improved by the giggles of his son Luke.
Luke needs a nanny for the summer, with Cade working the ranch each day, he doesn’t want Luke to miss out on all the summer fun he should have.
Willa Grant is a wild child, an outgoing fiery redhead who is trying to find her place in the world. When her best friend, Summer, asks her is she wants to spend her summer looking after a kid out at Wishing Well Ranch, Willa can’t think of a better excuse to enjoy the country life for a while. It’s just a shame her sexy boss is a massive grump.
Review: I love this book. I love it. I thought Iron Flame would be the best thing I read this month, honestly and then I opened this. Elsie Silver has won my heart again with this beautiful novel. Not only is the writing amazing, but just the chemistry with the characters. I was going through the motions with this, really feeling like I knew these people and I was there witnessing their story. This is truly an amazing read.
I cannot wait to read the next book, and if anyone wants to buy me the next two off my Wishlist, that would be great as my mother says having over 200 books in my room is too many when I don’t have a bookcase to put them on (I’m buying a bookcase tomorrow but I think I will fill it the second it goes up)

• Review: Flawless + Heartless •
So, I did the thing where I started watching Yellowstone and then was all, “must read the cowboy romances everyone has been talking about.” And I am not upset about this one bit!
The books in Elsie Silver’s Chestnut Ridge series are set on a ranch in Canada owned by the Eaton family.
In “Flawless,” we follow Rhett, the youngest son, who is a professional bull rider with a PR problem, and Summer, the daughter of Rhett’s agent who is sent to essentially babysit him for the rest of rodeo season and explicitly told by her dad/boss not to sleep with him.🙃 This book is a ton of swoony fun, the chemistry between Rhett and Summer is at hottest-day-of-the-year levels, and it also offers up an emotional twist that completely blindsided me.
And then we have “Heartless.” I’m normally *not* one to go for the single dad romance book, but y’all. This one.🔥 Cade is the oldest (and grumpiest) Eaton brother, a single dad, a full-time cowboy, and a man who needs some assistance. He ends up being basically forced into hiring Summer’s best friend Willa as a live-in nanny for the summer and holy smokes, these two – it’s a five-alarm situation.🥵
“Heartless” was on track to be a five-star read for me, but a trope I deeply dislike is introduced late in the book – and though it made sense for these characters, I still wish the situation had unfolded differently. But even with that blip for me, I still really enjoyed it!
So! If you’re looking for fun, steamy reads with great banter and some emotional depth, boot-scoot your way over to these Elsie Silver books.🤠
(Psst: the third one comes out soon, and it’s focused on the not-officially-but-sort-of adopted Eaton son, who is a pro hockey player😌)
Flawless: 3.75 🌟 | 2.75🌶️
Heartless: 4.25🌟 | 3🌶️

This month was a bit of a hit-or-miss in terms of books I read. I took the opportunity to revisit an old favorite Tiffany Reisz and reread her entire Original Sinners series plus a good chunk of her novellas. I also knocked out a few ARCs (I'm very excited about KJ Charles's upcoming book in particular). I'm hoping July will be a better month, but here are the books I enjoyed the most this June:
Minx by Sophie Lark Holy shit. I don't think I've read a sexier book in a long time and I JUST finished it at 1 am today. Blake is a high-class escort, and Ramses is a billionaire investor who not only wants her, but also wants to be her exclusive client and is willing to go to great lengths to make that happen.
I'm restraining myself from listing every sex act but here are the most pertinent ones: pet play is a big part of this story (if the title is any indication...), there's some really hot exhibitionism, role-playing, the rare period sex (like he fully goes down on her and everything and afterwards, they're shrugging like "we're all animals aren't we?"), and I'm actually surprised to see this again so soon after finishing the Kingmaker series— butt stuff during a blowjob.
The romance was also stellar— I appreciate how unique Ramses and Blake's brand of emotional intimacy is: Intimacy for them is him opening up his trading books to her and her accepting investing advice from him. It's her getting the information he needs to financially fuck over his terrible stepfather. It's when his estranged mom is being The Worst in public so she flashes her pussy at him to buck him up just before he has to deliver an important speech. For two characters who tend to play a lot of power games, this is very gratifying to read. They're wholly unrelatable in the best way— too hot, too rich, too smart— and we're just here along for the ride.
An Island Princess Starts a Scandal by Adriana Herrera Stunning. Gorgeous. Here are my thoughts as I was reading it. Manuela is a Venezuelan heiress who is set to marry as soon as she returns from Paris. So she understandably wants to make the best of her time in Paris. And because of her immediate on Cora, she makes a deal with her: in exchange for a parcel of land Cora needs for the railway project she is heading, she will show Manuela around all the lesbian haunts in the city.
Manuela is such a bright, effervescent heroine. And dare I say a bit of a brat? There was this scene where she purposefully told Cora she'd be at a more *risqué* party and swanned around until Cora stormed in and was like "fetch her and have her brought into my carriage At Once". Cora is a classic older heroine: worldly, confident, a silver fox(!!), and she's guarding herself from loving again. But when these two collide.... fireworks. No other way to put it. I said this when I just finished reading it, but I truly hope this will be a classic historical romance in another decade or two because it has all the beats while providing much needed queer and POC rep within the genre.
Heartless by Elsie Silver Small town romances are very hit-or-miss with me so I don't recommend them lightly lolol. But Heartless was a standout for me among the few Elsie Silver books I tried. Will is a fun, bratty heroine (wow there's a pattern here) who is panties-optional (which is a bigger plot point than you think, and the culmination is very fitting in a very hot way— at least I thought). Cade is a gruff silver fox rancher. Really, what more do you need?
Sidenote: Since a lot of the plot is about Willa nannying Cade's son, I will say, I'm fine with kids in romances as long as they're not weirdly precocious or actively trying to shove the love interests together. Which didn't happen here.
The Chateau by Tiffany Reisz One of the only Original Sinner novellas I hadn't read: What held me back was that the cult in this story is based on the Story of O so... I wasn't too enthusiastic about reading a cult centered around that book. But when I started it, I was surprised to see it really isn't like the Story of O? Apart from the setting and a few other references. Certainly not sadomasochistic to that degree, and it's about male, rather than female submission. It's a fun read. Young Kingsley being unrepentantly horny and having zero limits really comes in handy now that he's a spy (assassin?) assigned to infiltrate this sex cult and get his boss's nephew out. You also see his desire for a family manifesting, but his ultimate (and at this point kinda tragic) devotion is to Søren. Would recommend for anyone who wants to read about male subs.
The Return by Tiffany Reisz Søren and Kingsley return to the sex cult chateau. I'd say The Return is entertaining in a different way from The Chateau; Now that Søren and Kingsley's relationship is more secure (aka Kingsley isn't trying to torture himself about how Soren doesn't love him lol), you really get to see their fun side. And by fun, I mean, Søren being hella bitchy to the women that fucked Kingsley over like 2 decades ago ("only I get to hurt him") and then proceeding to make good on that promise. Anyway, would not recommend having a pissed off sadist and a perpetually down-and-ready Frenchman has houseguests. There will probably be come stains on the rug.

This book is fucking amazing! Flawless and Heartless were amazing. Rhett and Cade had some dirty mouths but OMG Jasper is a different kind of man!
I have read my fair share of spicy book and none of them made me blush like this book did. Seriously I love everything about it. New favourite book.

Summer, Year 8: University, pt. 2
After starting university from home, Deven Langerak and his sister Chandra, move to the university apartments to live amongst their peers.
Deven and Princess Lila are getting to know each other better.  A romance between them seems promising, but they are taking things nice and slow.
Tumblr media
Chandra is doing the opposite of that.  Leander of the Tavern, the father of her daughter, is happy to sleep with her, but when it comes to something more proper, like a date, he declines.  I’m not sure who he’s holding out for.  I might have to try to find someone else for her.
Tumblr media
Faith’s daughter, Grace, reaches toddlerhood.
Tumblr media
Cecily was pregnant with Rama Langerak’s baby, but she suffers a miscarriage.  (My game crashed and I had to replay parts of this household.  I thought the pregnancy was going to make it the second time after a close call, but it ended prematurely on both attempts.)
Tumblr media
Isabelle’s pregnancy goes better and she gives birth to a baby girl named Inez, future heir to House Burgos.
Tumblr media
Deven gets invited on an outing by Silas Cade and gets to meet several important Nobles from the kingdom.
Tumblr media
He has a good time and makes some new friends.
Tumblr media
It doesn’t go so well for everyone . . . Messages like this crack me up.  Gee, I wonder what Eli has to deal with so urgently???
Tumblr media
The outing is a huge success and Silas gifts Deven a statue.  I’m imagining the nobles from the kingdom wanted to check out Deven and see if he’s worthy of the future queen.  It looks like he definitely has their blessing!
Tumblr media
The last day of summer brings just one new student to campus, Prince Aiden (Royden.)
Tumblr media
and four students from this household finish their university careers.  Faith Mace and Princess Cecily (Lyndlia) failed out.  I forgot that I needed to check my graduates information before they age to adult instead of after, so I didn’t get their GPAs.  But Princess Lynette (Lyndlia) and Princess Willa (Royden) both graduated.  I had recorded Willa’s major as Mathematics, but since I didn’t have anything down for Lynette there’s a good chance her major was Philosophy.  (Honestly, it doesn’t matter.)
Lynette reminisces about all the fights she’s won.  “I’m really going to miss beating you girls up every day.  It’s been great.”
Tumblr media
Cecily finally makes time for a date with Rama.  No marriage wants for either of them this time.
Tumblr media
Prince Florian stops by to visit the university.  He wants to see how Isabelle is doing and meet his great-granddaughter.
Tumblr media
Faith gives birth again.  To twins.  Their father is Rama Langerak.
Tumblr media
The boy-girl twins are named Raymie and Farrah.  Faith is going to return home with three little ones and will join her aunt and uncle who also recently had twins.  It’s going to be a busy household . . .
Tumblr media
Aiden shares a first kiss with Serena.  It looks like Jonas has some competition.  Who will she choose?

•This was probably my first single dad book and it didn’t disappoint. Oh my sweet Cade, I kinda fell in love with him and Luke in ‘Flawless’ and I couldn’t wait for this story. Willa, you have my heart. She doesn’t give single shit and speaks what’s she wants. She had my laughing so much. I loved what they were able to do for each other, Willa brought out the side of Cade that’s been missing and Cade gave Willa confidence and made her see how great she truly was. This whole little family has stolen my heart by surprise and I’m honestly a little obsessed. This series has really surprised me. I had to give it 4 stars because of a little surprise about 85% of the way in, but I love the characters to much so it was enough to make me not read it.
