Targeted/ Scar and Brina

Unclipping the leash from the dogs, Sabrina opened the back room expecting to see Scarlett there. She should have beaten Brina to the arcade, but the blonde could not find her friend in the office. Assuming that she was elsewhere in the building, Brina booted up the computer. As much as she'd fought with James about installing the cameras all over, now she was thankful for every last one. It would take a bit of work, but a quick google gave her a clear enough picture of Victor. The blonde mentally cursed herself. She'd had a vision of the man, but had dismissed it as something unlikely to happen given that he was surrounded by smoke. To think they would have had far more time to prepare if she'd only done a bit of research to match the man in the vision to the one of Scarlett's nightmares.

Hearing the door to the back office open, she didn't pay it much mind. "I'm working on updating our security program. It will do scans of those that come within ten feet of the building, run a facial recognition, and then give us an alert if he is close." She spun in her chair, eyes widening. "What happened?"

at first it’s just funny — Scar makes you the most ridiculous offers that you both know he can’t follow up on (an impenetrable castle, he promises you, filled with all the comforts and luxuries you could ever want), and sure, you turn him down every time, but how can he be upset? he’s still the one making you smile, even if it’s accompanied by you laughing and rolling your eyes. if he can find a way to cheer you up through the tension and distrust within the server, then he’s happy! even if you’re not his.

then you start to die. either by pure accident or the Boogeyman, Scar watches as your name slowly changes from dark green to lime to yellow. all the while, he follows behind you, still offering you everything he has to give just so you’ll stay with him, where he can at least try to keep you safe. he even offers his own lives, however many you want, and you turn him down. he may have done well in staying alive, you say, but you know him. he’ll need those lives more than you eventually.

but then you turn red. even when you isolate yourself to a corner of the map, hoping beyond hope that you can keep yourself from hurting anyone, you open the door one day to find Scar with a small, hastily made bouquet and none of his usual bluster. he’s unusually serious when he makes his offer again: in exchange for your loyalty and companionship, he would not only give you a life once, but whenever necessary to keep you from becoming a red name. it’s almost too good to be real, but Scar has been nothing if not persistent in his quest to have you, and it’s not like you want to be red.

how can you say no?

Scar is a lot of things, and at the end of the day he has the business sense and charisma to land a good deal. He's wanted your partnership for the longest of time. Almost entirely because he just wants to make sure you get through this.

He knows you're in the thick of it at the moment, he knows his vow to give you a few lives and his undying loyalty is going to sound rather enticing. Of course he would've never wanted you to get this roughed up, but at least you're both getting what you want. An alliance to truly be reckoned with.
