finally found a place to read With the Light online and i'm thrilled; if you haven't read this manga i do Legitimately recommend it

#N posts stuff #like don't get it wrong it Is Not a series about being autistic it Is a series about raising an autistic kid #but also don't be put off by that because it's legitimately a series that I feel Loves autistic people with its whole being #it's kind of a teaching manga so it showcases a lot of different opinions/characters/conflicts/etc. but the Framing is very consistent #in that the manga is Extremely of the opinion that autistic people are People who deserve to be Valued and Accepted As They Are #the onus for change is never put on autistic individuals the framing is basically Universal in the 'the World needs to change #to be more accepting' -- it's a very Social Model depiction of autism that ALSO never veers too far into the #'autism isn't even Really a disability' fallacy; it's very much a 'A lot of autistic people will need constant support in a variety of ways #throughout their lives but that isn't the roadblock preventing them from having their own lives; ableism in society is the roadblock'#the first two chapters are the hardest to get through bc they take place before Sachiko has any real understanding of autism and #so she's isolated and stressed out and the ignorance makes it difficult for her to care for Hikaru properly (there's also a lot of #other characters Blaming her for what's going on which goes unchallenged at this point though that changes later); but after she #understands what autism is she's Firmly in Hikaru's corner for the rest of the series - you can skip right to ch 3 without a problem #if you're not interested in reading about that initial conflict #there's still a Lot of conflict ofc but by then the chapters have some of my favorite moments so i don't want to advocate skipping #them; like Hikaru's daycare teacher explaining how Hikaru's difficulty speaking is the same as other kids' troubles with #things like jump-roping/etc.; and then a mother who has An Issue with Hikaru's presence in her daughter's class realizing the #depth of the problematic opinion bc Her mother (who had a stroke) faces similar ableism from her peers #i'm cutting this post off b4 the tags get Too long but if you're curious but still hesitant man. send me an ask and i will Happily #write an insanely long essay about how much i love this series; i have all the books i'm not excited about the online availability #for Me i'm excited bc i've been wanting to rec this manga for like almost a full decade and i can finally give you a link instead of #saying 'well. you can find used copies sometimes' lol

My newest d&d character, Figyti Tenibriss!

He's a tiefling ranger, & he's a servant for the ruler of Insanity (all campaign lore, yada yada yada).

I had fun designing him, & doing his voice during the campaign is even more fun! (Its like a light, airy sound, yet he's very unhinged). Fun fact, since he works in hell, he is the minder of a hellhound named Dudley who belongs to an elite he works for.

So if there’s anything to take away from Bowser’s Inside Story it’s the lesson that the size disparity we see between different iterations of Bowser are caused by Near Death Experiences, and the following adrenaline rush

This can be seen directly in Super Mario Bros Wii, where after dunking Bowser into the lava in typical Mario Bros fashion, he comes back a solid 5 times his size. Not the biggest we’ve seen him, but still.

This then implies before games like Mario Galaxy and Bowser’s Fury something aside from Mario nearly killed Bowser, sending him into these adrenaline filled, power hungry rages.

This has the biggest implications, to me personally, for Mario Sunshine, the first game Bowser Jr makes his appearance, and the only time we see Bowser in his massive form not in a state of all out attack. He’s actually rather calm, and has his most iconic show of emotion to date.

Am I going somewhere with all of this? No not really, I’m just thinking about it and wanna share where my brain is currently.

I gotta get this kid a support system other than me and the minions'#Because I mean Kamek's great but he doesn't wanna end up LEAVING Junior an ORPHAN that'd be messed up #I think Bowser's real mellow and soft in Sunshine because he's kind of realizing he can't run head first at everything and leave Jr behind #I dunno I dunno I'm think thonkin thonk thinkin #I love Bowser as a character I don't like his weird anatomy Inside Story gave us #I don't like Inside story... much at all really.... but that's not important #What IS important is how often Bowser almost dies to things OTHER than Mario #And how actually RARELY Mario almost KILLS Bowser #given how often Bowser almost kills Mario #Theoretically #The only exception to this is in Super Paper Mario where Dimentio sends everyone to Hell by Killing Them #But I mean maybe that doesn't count because he did Actually die #Or maybe we missed Big Bowser actually #He did wake up first and started fuckin shit up and they do call him a Huge Monster #So actually yeah he WAS huge we just missed it #This is my only take away from this game

never has there been a character thats given me such emotional whiplash as HABIT. i both am delighted every time he shows up and also so enraged that i want to throw him in front of a bus

finally nailed down vel sartha’s vibe which is: lesbian rugby coach for the kiddo leagues who woudl love to give everyone a participation trophy but Can’t because /rules/ and /building character/ so is going to just blow that whistle REALLY LOUDLY and make everyone drop and give her 20. constantly giving speeches about how This is the game where we are going to WIN girls we are going to WIN as she walks them right into terrifying defeat, which, of course, all the kids have seen right through

#vel sartha fascinates me as like. characters who obviously do /not/ have the personality for this but who are here anyway #because it's what needs to be done. but what a soft heart underneath #i think she just wants to go hillwalking and camping with her girl. plan romantic trips. give people hugs. is she going to? no #favorite vel moment actually is that moment of hesitation about killing cassian because like. she doesn't KNOW him as far as she knows he's #just Some Rando Mercenary who was a good part of what almost tanked her team and authority (not his fault luthen's but still)#and STILL she hesitates over killing him. still. she doesn't want to #vel sartha #andor

i remember hearing that the writers for the sonic boom tv show said that shadow was a very difficult character to write because sega is so picky about how he should be portrayed and thats why they saved him for season finale episodes only. so he could still be in the show but they wouldnt have to go back and forth with sega about what they can and cant do with him as much as they would have if he was a main character. anyway maybe thats part of the reason theres no alternate shadows in sonic prime. because sega was annoying about it and the writers didnt feel like dealing with it lmao

#but then again part of what made it so hard i think is because sonic boom was a comedy show and sega didnt think #shadow should be a very funny character? or something like that? and while sonic prime does have its jokey moments #comedy isnt the main focus unlike sonic boom #so maybe it would be easier to get a lot of shadow screentime in sonic prime than it would be in sonic boom #and they planned for there to be no alternate shadows from the start? idk im just saying stuff #personally i dont really like the way shadow is written in sonic boom. like some of the jokes involving him are funny but #overall. that is NOT my friend shadow the hedgehog #so im hoping if the next sonic prime episodes have more shadow than the first batch #then he is Nothing like he was in sonic boom #currently i am still on the fence about prime shadow. like they at least gave him a reason to be mad this time #instead of just having him fight with sonic all the time for no reason. which is a good start. but im still unsure #since hes had so little screentime so far #and they also pulled the ''put shadow in a bunch of the promotional stuff only for him to barely be there at all'' thing Again #but. to be fair. we're only on episode 8 out of what. 24? theres plenty more time for him to make more appearances #see i am also very picky about how shadow should be portrayed but me and whoever is in charge of him rn have very different ideas #of what the Right portrayal of shadow is #so while shadow is one of my favorite characters. whenever i see hes gonna be in some new thing #im more concerned about if theyre gonna fuck everything up again than i am excited to see him

finished season 2 of miraculous ladybug!

I dont mean to sound nitpicky about a children's show meant for children. Buuut it feels a little weird to me that the neglect/abuse Adrien experiences from his father is never played for laughs, but Chloes extremely horrible mom being awful to her is literally the whole punchline of their relationship?

Like I realize part of it is "Well Chloe is mean too, so they can bond over how awful they are Together", but that just makes me feel kinda icky because it means Chloe can never improve as a person UNLESS she's fine with her mother not loving her lol

#not to overanalyze a show meant for 10 year olds #im more just pointing out the difference in how their abusive parents are portrayed and how......strange it is #adriens dad is constantly being shown to be horrible. and they never ever make a joke out of it #but i guess since Chloe is the designated 'Mean Girl' its funny to watch her mom constantly forgetting her name #constantly yelling at her and treating her like shes garbage #chloe gets really good small moments of humanity here and there #but then they had that scene where she finally gets her mother to show interest in her and #its literally just because chloe is like 'i can be an bitch too mom!!!'. which just makes me very sad #chloe redemption arc please. i wanna see her yell at her horrible mom lol #miraculous ladybug #i finished season 2 today. there was so many good hawkmoth moments this season #but i do find it very funny that he akumatized like ..... 5 different six year olds this season #i am making such an extended list of notes about this show as I watch it #im gonna make the next 7 hr long video essay. but itll be about miraculous ladybug lol #my favorite character is still chat noir btw #thanks for reading this far #i will now kiss you on the lips. mwah #tell me who YOUR favorite miraculous ladybug character is and why. i am not super into the fandom side. ive just been watching the show #i wanna know what characters are popular and which ones are hated hehehe #not pony

restraining myself from being a hater bc the thing in question isnt like morally wrong or the worst thing ever & many beloved mutuals and friends like it a lot and i dont want to hurt any feelings but also ive been thinking about the aspects of it i dislike a lot lately
