“If you want to pull the thread, then pull it.” The tpm showing tonight and the acolyte trailer release had me thinking about “fate” and “the will of the force”. In Ep I, Qui-Gon talks quite a lot about the will of the force: he talks about how finding Anakin was the will of the force, and later on tells Anakin midichlorians enable a Jedi’s connection with the force and that they “continually speak to you, telling you the will of the force.” These reminders and the new lines about fate and the force from the Acolyte trailer had me thinking of one specific scene in TPM: the scene where Qui-Gon pushes the falling die on his bet with Watto for Anakin’s freedom. Perhaps he was right and finding Anakin was the will of the force, but in the end it was Qui-Gon’s decision to do anything about it. To me, the “will of the force” is the trajectory by which the die falls. No more, no less. The midichlorians told him which way the die would fall and he acts to change it. The “thread to pull” is Qui-Gon deciding to shift the die. Luke, when told two different destinies in the OT & the “will of the force”, chooses neither and creates his own. Perhaps he was right that finding Anakin was the will of the force, or it was right that Luke and Vader’s confrontation was fated by the Force but past that are the choices we make. It’s our decisions that affect the galaxy as a whole
This has been the hill that I've been ready to die on for awhile and that I think it's the Jedi's hill as well! One of my favorite things about Star Wars is that destiny seems to exist, that Anakin is the Chosen One, George Lucas has confirmed that he was, but nothing within the story itself really pushes him into a specific path about it. The Jedi don't even bring it up around him (other than Qui-Gon pushes it during TPM, which is part of his case to adopt Anakin late) or if they do, it's often presented that they doubt it. It's not until Mustafar that Obi-Wan says a single thing on-screen about believing that Anakin is the Chosen One. On Mortis, Anakin himself expresses doubt about being the Chosen One, he was clearly not spoonfed that idea or had it pressed upon him that he had to do Something. Whether the Jedi believed it or not, various ones fell into different categories, they left Anakin to his own choices. Destiny exists, but it's your choice what to do about it. I fully believe that Anakin's destiny was to be in that office with Palpatine and to side with the light, to defeat Palpatine there, that's what being the Chosen One was about. But because he had free will to choose, his fears and anger made him choose a terrible path. I do think the Force has a will, it has a direction it wants to go, like a river running downstream, but that when you wade into it, you're still in control of the choices you want to make. You can walk upstream. You can build a dam. You can stand still. You can even get out of the river. Maybe the Force did draw Qui-Gon to Tatooine that day, maybe it didn't, they'll never really know. Maybe it nudged things so that Qui-Gon was in a position to see that dice roll, but then it was his choice to flip the die over to what was a better outcome. Pulling the thread if you want to pull the thread is what all evidence we have on the Jedi already points to believing in. The Force exists and it does have a pull to it, destiny exists. But it's still up to you the individual to decide whether or not to do it. (But I'm fine with people in-universe who misunderstand the Jedi and what they believe in the Force, because that's been something that has hung over them in every single era of Star Wars ever.)

Hi, hey there, did you know that the whole "Jedi can deflect blasters so Mandalorians used solid-shot weapons to kill them because blocking a bullet with a lightsaber just results in molten metal spraying the Jedi" meme is actually bullshit?
Like, first thing you have to know about that lore is that it was written by Karen Traviss. Traviss is fairly infamous for writing a shitton of military wank and really hating the Jedi, portraying them as cruel, cold, fascist idiots, who are much, much lamer than the cool Mandalorians, who are badass military types and definitely haven't carried out multiple genocides in the past (they have). She was also known for not exactly playing ball with other writers, and ultimately ragequit the franchise when TCW started to include Mandalorians and portrayed them differently. This was not a detail that basically any other writer in anything Star Wars ever actually backs up.
And like, here's the thing... this exists.
Tumblr media
That's a Jedi using the Force to deflect bullets with her bare hand.
This is Tutaminis. And/or Force Deflection, it's not really clear whether they're the same thing or not. It's a pretty standard Force ability that a bunch of characters have demonstrated. Obi-Wan blocks both bullets and a flamethrower with it in the 03 Clone Wars microseries. It's how Yoda catches and redirects Force Lightning during his duels with Dooku in Attack of the Clones and Palpatine in Revenge of the Sith. It's how Vader absorbs Han's shots with his hand in The Empire Strikes Back.
It's also evident from the amount of times that the Mandalorians fight the Jedi with normal blasters instead of breaking out their "anti-Jedi" weapons for their ancient enemies. And the fact that the Mandalorians lost their wars against the Jedi.
If solid-shot guns/slugthrowers were the amazing anti-Jedi weapons that totally always worked against Jedi, then we'd see a lot more slugthrowers and a lot fewer Jedi. We see the CIS' Droid armies fight against the Jedi for three years, we see the Clones being designed from the get-go to kill the Jedi at the end of the war and being highly successful at it, we see the Empire hunting Jedi for the next 19 years and the rest of the Galactic Civil War after that, and y'know what they have in common? None of them use slugthrowers. They all just keep using blasters.
The answer to "How to kill a Jedi" equation has traditionally been depicted as "Use more blasters than they can actually physically deflect."
There's also the detail that Jedi are precognitive space wizards who can move with superhuman speed. If you're actually in range to shoot one with a gun, they'll sense you, evade or block with the Force, close the gap before you can chamber the next round, and revoke your Hand Privileges.
Even the "You'll kill them with a spray of molten metal from the melted bullet!" thing doesn't actually track with what we see on-screen. At the climax of Revenge of the Sith, we see Obi-Wan and Vader fight in the middle of an active volcano. They get splashed with showers of lava a couple of times, and at the end of the fight, both of their clothes are scorched and burned from the embers. Obi-Wan continues to wear his charred robes throughout the rest of the movie. And he's fine. No lava burns. Neither of them actually gets hurt by the lava until Obi-Wan cuts Vader's limbs off and he can no longer move or protect himself, and even then, Vader survives getting burned to a crisp by being really fucking mad about it.
So yeah, it's nonsense. A dumb "Hurr, Jedi are so lame and my unproblematic genocidal warrior race could totally kill them super-easy" take written by Star Wars' own version of Ken Penders.

OFF WE GO ❤️‍🔥
We are thrilled with the submissions and we’ll be posting them anonymously in batches in the upcoming days!
Here’s the first round of AO3 works, together with our heartfelt THANK YOU 🙏🏻
Little reminder for all the artists: don’t forget to tag us so we can promote your work here as well!
• (✦థ ェ థ) by Anonymous (comic screenplay)
Reverse Master Padawan AU
Darth Vader is in need of an apprentice. His former Master and the Emperor pressuring him to raise a new generation of powerful Sith.
But it's not only him that seeks Vader's attention. An initiate, a young student, asks him to become his teacher.
Obi-Wan Kenobi has great potential. He is cunning, strong, fine swordsman and a very talented little boy. Most of Sith are very eager to snatch him, but Obi-Wan refuses them all because he wants Vader.
DW: Obi-Wan being a model student, basically your Ferus Olin from the Jedi Quest, but also very star-struck by Vader, who he adores. Bonus points if you can write the impending doom of apprentice killing their Master at the end as something both Vader and Kenobi contemplate.
Bonus bonus points if you can make it sort of Obi-Wan trying to seduce Vader in hopes that if they'll sleep together, Vader would be more receptive to taking him as an aprentice.
• Even if I Fall, I'll Protect You by Anonymous (comic art)
Qui-Gon dies but Obi-Wan doesn't get to train Anakin, he is given to another Master. Years pass and without the help of taking care of his young charge Obi-Wan is not dealing well with his grief and emotions.
So when during a mission to investigate Kamino he is approached by his grandmaster Dooku, there isn't much holding him in the Jedi Order.
What Obi-Wan doesn't know is that young Anakin harboured a massive crush for him and now will do anything to bring his beloved Obi back to him.
DW: Anakin being obsessed over Obi-Wan, finding ways to seek him out and confront him, getting angry and jealous when Kenobi fights or flirts with other Jedi. Obi-Wan secretly trying to protect the boy from Sidious grand plan.
DNW: Infidelity. Obi-Wan or Anakin openly engaging in any sexual or romantic activity with someone else (past mentions of flings are fine).
• will you give in to me? by Anonymous
Sith Suitless Vader and Jedi Padawan Obi-Wan in a fuck or die situation. Padawan Obi is reluctant, Vader is impatient. Things get heated. Obi starts enjoying it too
DW: Smut, Bottom Obi, Top Ani, Non-Con Elements, Angst, bittersweet or happy ending,
DNW: Top Obi-Wan, Bottom Anakin, Scat or waterworks, bad or ending, Obi or Ani hating each other, anidala
• Look of Ruined Desperation by Anonymous
Emperor Obi-Wan loves to attend meetings in his office, with his dear husband warming his cock.
Don't want: rape/non-con, others participating in the obikin sex, open relationship, unhappy ending, unhappy relationship, watersport, scat, emeto, pet play, age play
• by the fires of the sun by Anonymous
Jedi Anakin (any era is fine!) is in the clubs of Coruscant looking for a no-strings-attached one night stand to take the edge off before he leaves for a mission that could take months. It's in the clubs that he meets "Ben" and it's lust at first sight.
For Obi-Wan, what started as him luring a Jedi into his bed in order to try and sneak information out of him, quickly turns into a obsession with Anakin and a need to make him his forever.
Bonus points for infidelity where Anakin is sneaking around behind Padmé's back by seeking a one night stand with someone else.
DW: NSFW (prefer top!Obi for this, but either dynamic is fine), dominant!Obi, Anakin being enamored enough that he ignores/misses a ton of red flags about Obi-Wan being a Sith
DNW: Obianidala, piss, scat, vomit, mpreg, heavy pet play, major character death
• you'll never know, dear by Anonymous
Yoda doesn't send Obi-Wan to deal with Vader on Mustafar.
Instead he sends someone else and they return with the news that Skywalker is dead. Obi-Wan is inconsolable.
It feels like the half of him has perished, his heart withered and died. His soul darkened.
He falls into a deep depression, before slowly starting to blame everything and everyone for the death of his beloved boy, the light of his life.
He iz convinced that had he gone to Mustafar, he could've talked Anakin back to the light. Which causes him to Fall in the end, driven by desire for revenge.
He starts haunting down Inquisitors and occasional Jedi who cross his path in his attempts to get to Sidious and kill him for what he did to his boy.
DW: Obi-Wan being extremely distraught, almost catatonic before he spirals. It's up to you whether Vader lives or indeed dies at the end.
DNW: Palpatine killing Obi-Wan.
• They won't know Mustafar by Anonymous
-Do you remember this moment, Vader? Just 9 days before your discovery.
-How to forget it Darth Ben
Obi-Wan and Anakin find two people identical to them, apparently they are from another galaxy.
• Disintegration by Anonymous
ROTS AU where Obi-Wan Falls instead of Anakin
• i've done dark things (in these shadows) by Anonymous
Obi-Wan as a Sith apprentice of Dooku and is Dooku's chosen heir but seeing as Dooku is just from a part from an external branch from the Bane line of Sith, his line of Sith Lordship isn't well liked or favored by either the wide known Sith Empire or Sidious himself (the current Sith emperor).
Because of this, Dooku cautions his apprentice to hide his talent so others will not know their plan to overthrow Palpatine, so they can usurp the throne and establish Obi-Wan as the new Emperor.
Palpatine's chosen is Anakin and the moment Anakin and Obi-Wan meet, Anakin knew he wanted Obi-Wan for himself, cue dangerous flirting game and Obi-Wan trying to navigate having both Anakin and Palpatine's attention on his back.
DW: Bottom Obi-Wan Kenobi, Top Anakin Skywalker, Kinks of all kinds, Gore, dead Dove, it doesn't matter, anything goes.
DNW: Top Obi-Wan Kenobi, Bottom Anakin Skywalker, Major Character Death (Only Anakin and Obi-Wan, if others, it's fine idc)
• I would burn the stars to protect you by Anonymous
Whump with sith Obi-Wan + jedi anakin.
They haven't known each other for long but actually long enough for them both to develop feelings to each other despite their differences. The context on how they meet is up to you. It can be because of a mission the council assigned to Anakin, but yeah you decide.
One day Anakin gets seriously injured by one of Lord Kenobi's inquisitors. Obi-Wan goes feral and fully in protective boyfriend mode (The guilty inquisitor is immediately killed of course).
DW: The more angsty and whumpie the better!, Blood loss injury
DNW: major character's death (it can be temporary tho), smut
• A song to keep us warm by Anonymous
Dyad AU.
Obi-Wan Kenobi was renounced by Qui-Gon Jinn after the battle on Naboo and had chosen to leave the Order.
Anakin gets to be Qui-Gon's new padawan instead.
Years later, Obi-Wan resurfaces again, on the battle of Geonosis, as a Sith Lord.
Shortly after that Anakin begins to have visions of him, the Force somehow connecting them and Anakin is forced to confront the man who might have been his older brother his friend but now turned his enemy.
DW: Sort of Reylo Force connection vibes, with Anakin being angry and guarded, while Obi-Wan is curious and calm. Maybe they slowly learning about each other.
DNW: Major Character Death, Unhappy Ending, Anidala (could be in passing but ultimately obikin is the soulmate endgame)
• i'll help you fall down with me by Anonymous
Rako Hardeen Arc (or a similar style mission), but rather than faking his death, Obi-Wan fakes a fall to the Dark Side for the mission. In his distress, Anakin falls (for real) and follows after his Master to find and rejoin with him.
DWs: Angst, Established relationship for obikin, Dubcon or noncon when Vaderkin finds out Obi-Wan was faking his fall
DNWs: piss, scat, vomit, mpreg, heavy pet play, major character death
• 'eat your young' by Anonymous
Sith Lord Kenobi and his acolyte Skywalker have a grueling training session.
DW: sexual tension, sweaty bodies, bloody sparring relationship might be established or not.
DNW: go crazy! no limits

AD ASTRA PER ASPERA
“To the stars through hardships”
Your group had decided to ride the Blurgs seeing as the place the contact had requested to meet was in such a remote location, meaning you had a long day of walking ahead of you. Kuiil only owned three of the hulking, tadpole-shaped creatures, however, so Cara and you hopped on together seeing as you were both the unexpected and possibly unwelcome guests to this Greef Karga that Mando had been in contact with.
The leathery-skinned creatures plodded down the ramp of the crest and you immediately eyed up the four strangers of varying species waiting for Mando, noting the loaded blasters sitting at their hips.
"Sorry for the remote rendezvous, Mando. But things have gotten complicated since you were last here. It appears that introductions are in order. It seems we've both provided a security detail." The older human at the front, who you guessed was Karga judging by his leadership over the others, said. He eyed up the three newcomers that he had not been waiting for, yourself included, and pointed at Cara with interest, "I recommend the shock-trooper guards the ship, these lava fields are lousy with Jawas."
"She's coming with me," Mando said, and the tone in his voice clearly left no room for negotiation.
"But the town is now run by ex-Empire. If a rebel dropper is with us, they'll all get their hackles up." While what he said made sense, something about the way he was scrambling for an excuse to lessen your defence of the child made your nerves spark aflame of distrust. A terrible pit in your stomach only deepened with dread as your fears that this was a setup of sorts were satiated by his behaviour.
"She's coming," Mando repeated harshly, not moving from his statement.
Greef thought for a moment, looking at where you sat behind the rebel, staring holes into him viciously with cold eyes. "Fine. Fine. At least cover your tattoo. No need to flaunt it. And the beautiful specimen at the back, is she a rebel too?"
Din's jaw clenched at the man's words, the way he spoke about you as though you weren't there or was simply a porcelain object he had brought along for the ride.
"No, she's a friend. Best fighter I know. Anyone wishing to cross our path doesn’t stand a chance," Mando answered honestly, the compliment clearly being laced with a threat in case Greef had any ideas.
"Now, where is the little one?" The man asked, now wary of the two women sitting on top of one of the ugly beasts. Mando flicked some buttons on his vambrace, which you had rewired to link it to the controls on the new pram, and the sleek egg-shaped crib floated up towards Greef who looked down in awe. You felt your heart leap into your throat, hand jumping to your blaster in distrust of the man.
"So this little bogwing is what all the fuss was about." Greef said, holding the child up out of the crib as he stared up at him in wonder with soft black eyes, "What a precious little creature. I can see why you didn't wanna harm a hair on its wrinkled little head. Well, I'm glad this matter will be put to rest once and for all." He placed the child back down, making you and no doubt Mando sigh a breath of short-lived relief. Mando drew the crib back almost immediately, back to the protection of the four beings atop the blurgs. You watched the lid shut firmly with the child inside it, and turned your attention back to the contact, satisfied that the baby was safe.
"Relax, Mama bear. Kid's safe" Cara muttered, trying to soothe your nerves as she felt your arm wrapped around her middle for balance tense up. You nodded to yourself, trying to coax yourself into reassurance.
"The sun drops fast on Nevarro. We can walk for a spell and camp out on the river bank, then make our way into town at first light." Greef Karga said, turning on his foot and heading in the direction you guessed the river was. You would certainly be glad to see some water, the hot air of the volcanic planet already feeling like a scorching, heavy blanket over your shoulders.
The group followed on the blurgs, you wrapping your arms around the woman in front of you for stability.
"Someone feeling cuddly today?" Cara teased, though she got no sarcastic quip in return as she had expected. That told her all she needed to know, that you were deep in your head, no doubt about the child and what you were about to walk into. You had never thought that you would grow to care about the child so much in the past few months you and Mando had been playing happy family, but looking back on it you really saw him as your own foundling. You were by no means a natural at it, but you found comfort in the fact you and Mando learned and figured it out together, as you did with most things these days.
You had felt so alone for so long, and now you had them. When you lay in your tiny, uncomfortable bed at night, sometimes you daydreamed of calling them your family; of seeing Mando without his armour, being his beloved. Cyare, that was what they called them, you remembered Shenzi teaching you. Just to be his, and have him as yours lulled you to sleep, alone and cold as you may be.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
You had been walking for a few hours by the time they came to a stop and, all things considered, you were quite enjoying the ride as your role as passenger meant you could sightsee. It wasn't a lively planet, not the part you were walking through anyway and you quickly got used to the vermillion lava pools and the charcoal rocky plains nevertheless, you took it all in with wonder. Having to watch over your back for so long meant you never really had time to explore, so seeing this new land was exciting, even if you still were on high alert for danger the whole time.
The group had brought down a small mammal and cooked it on a spit over a fire they had started seeing as the night took a cold turn despite the fact they were on a volcanic planet. You stared into the loud, licking flames, one of Karga's men adding a shovel of screaming hot coals to stoke the fire that he sourced from a nearby lava pool. There seemed to be a tense silence over the group, not that you cared seeing as the Child sat in between you and Kuiil who tended to him gently, Mando laying out to the left of you. You chewed at your food slowly, the smokey flavoured meat being one of the best things you'd tasted in a while. You and Mando really tried your best, but with limited resources, you were still short for the symphony of taste that meat and an open fire allowed.
In your peripheral vision, you noticed the child squirming in his seat, hands pushing away the food that Kuiil offered him despite barely touching it. His eyes were locked on where Mando lay down, and it became clear to the child's protectors what he wanted.
"Here, I got him," You offered, placing your makeshift plate on the floor with your food still steaming with freshness. The Ugnaught lifted the child out of the crib, holding him out to your expecting hands who collected him and put him on the ground in between you and Mando. He almost immediately waddled over to your plate of food, getting his greedy little claws on your share of the meal with a mischievous giggle.
"Hey! That's not yours." Din scolded the boy who looked up at him guiltily, sharp teeth already sunk into the piece of meat, "Cuyir jate par gar cabur," [be good for your guardian]
The baby took not much notice, however, instead practically inhaling the food even faster in case one of them tried to take it away from him. You simply chuckled as the child shuffled away from the plate. "Don't worry, I already had enough anyway," You said, watching the little menace move towards the Mandalorian, plopping himself to the floor next to him, leaning against the man's chest plate. "adiika shi copaanir kaysh cabur" [the child just wants his protector] You replied fluently, smiling at the privacy you had been granted from the ears of the rest of the group as Mando'a was a very niche language nowadays. It was comforting to have the familiarity of something you could share just the two of you, reminding you of the quiet nights on the crest when it was just your little aliit [clan] together; no imps, no potential traitors, just the three of you.
"Well, look at you three, playing happy families. I didn't think you had it in you Mando," You almost sensed a hint of sincerity in Karga's voice, but the fact remained that the whole group had a bad feeling about this man's intentions and instead left the comment feeling like a bitter jab towards you. Mando straightened up, almost trying to block the child from the man's view the way he moved, and you couldn't help but wonder if that was because he felt like your moment of privacy was being tarnished, because you certainly did. That much was clear in the underlying glare you sent towards Karga for invading your moment as a family.
Family? It felt sinful nearly for thinking of them that way when that arrangement had never been agreed with Mando, but that was what had sprung to your mind nonetheless. Nothing had ever progressed past the stage of protectors towards the child, but something between you and Mando was there, the way a dying fire still flutters with hot embers. You both felt the heat of it, the sensation bringing you both warmth on a dark night, but it wasn't a roaring flame that demanded your vocalised attention, so it had gone unacknowledged, unspoken. Not to be thought of until the fire became so hot it burned welts into your skin.
Still, just as the tiny blaze was flickering to life with your game of secrecy, Karga had trampled over it, effectively killing the mood you had both been in.
"Let's go over the plan again," Mando cut in, trying to take the attention away from the child and the way you let him nibble gently at your finger. He hated how Karga had taken an interest in his interaction with you, even if it was his own fault for being so out of character around you, but he didn't think twice about it these days.
Your situation was unusual, to say the least. Two adults traversing the galaxy with a magical baby causing chaos every step of the way. You behaved like its parents naturally, as to be expected in a position like that, and it didn't help that the two of you felt something between you, a connection running far deeper and warmer than you’d admitted, but Din hadn't thought it would be that obvious to everyone else how he felt about you. How you could feel about him.
The world didn't get to see the side of him you did; he realised.
"We both enter the common house. We show the client the bait. We join him at the table, and you kill him." Karga said simply, the fire illuminating his oddly calm face as he spoke about a task that could land all involved in deep trouble considering the circumstances.
"Tell me about his reinforcements." Mando pressed, seemingly unconvinced it was as easy as he was making it out to seem.
"They're all ex-Empire. As soon as they lose their paycheck," Karga scoffed, finishing his last piece of meat and opening his canteen of water, "they'll all scatter."
"And if they don't?" Your mouth braved to ask. You didn't trust this contact one bit, something in the air between the lot of them was stagnant with the promise of lies. You were heading towards people who served the Empire, a fair few of them from what Karga was describing too. That only meant one thing; that trouble lay ahead for your little trio, though your life had been heading that way since the moment you saw that Beskar armour stroll into the cantina on Sorgan.
"They will." Karga replied after a beat, almost shocked to hear your voice through the twilight silence.
"That's not good enough," You said, a snappy tone in your voice at the secrets he was clearly keeping from you.
Greef sighed for a moment at your persistence. Din had to give it to you, considering he could tell how tense you were, you weren’t letting any bullshit slip past you, "If, for argument's sake, a few of them don't realise that I'm their best path to alternative employment, and they elect to react impulsively, then these three fine Guild hunters along with that battle-hardened shock-trooper and your Mandalorian will cut down anyone who bucks."
You dared a look at Mando when Greef referred to him in such a way, curious to see if he had any protest. If he did, he didn't voice it as he simply cut in where you left off.
"How many will there be?"
"No more than four," Karga replied, standing from the floor, but that sprung alarm bells in you almost immediately. Four? Certainly for such a highly sought-after prize, they would bring reinforcements. "He travels with, at most, a fire team. Trust me, nothing could go wrong."
Just as the devious man had reached over to the roasting animal skewered over the fire to collect a thick leg of meat, something moved in the shadows towards him. No sooner had a scream echoed loudly around the fire pit, two huge clawed feet lunged out of the darkness and snatched the food from his hands. Loud flapping sounds reverberated through the night, and they were big too.
You moved on impulse, grabbing the child from the floor and shoving him quickly into his new dome-shaped pram, shutting the lid on him to keep him safe from whatever the creatures swarming around you were. If they were interested in the meat in Karga's hands, a little boy like him would be a light snack to them.
The group scrambled to pull out their blasters, shooting blindly at any single noise they heard to no avail. The creature wailed once more, but for a moment after there was silence.
You stopped, waiting for any other sign of movement. They met you with a beat of stillness, and the small optimistic part of you hoped that that would be the end.
Of course, you never got that lucky. you had never been a lucky woman.
The creature dived at the small group like a demon from the sky, and you now had the chance to get a genuine look at them. From what your eyes briefly caught in between shooting at the monstrous things, was the fact they were covered in darkish scales and they indeed had huge wings that blew sand up from the floor with every flap.
You couldn't get a decent look at their face but you could bet all the credits you owned you would find a few rows of razor teeth you had no intention of getting close to. Your best guess; Dragons.
Then, as you felt your blaster running low on charges, one beast, you believed there were two at least, swooped down and grabbed one of the Blurgs between its long talons. As selfish as it were, you couldn't help but be relieved that they had something to satiate their hunger that wasn't yourself, Cara or the man you cared for more than almost anyone.
"No! Let go of her! Drop her now!" Kuiil yelled, and you couldn't help but feel guilty of the horribly greedy thought you had had not two seconds earlier amid the shooting. The Blurgs were like a family to the little Ugnaught from Avrila-7 with them being the last remaining company he had on his moisture farm. You guessed they were to him what the child was to you and Mando, and the remorse at the idea of him being dragged away squealing so painfully was a kick to the gut.
The group shot at the dragon in vain, already knowing the animal was a lost cause but just to show Kuiil you would at least try fighting for his oddly amphibian looking family. But it was too late.
At least you thought.
Another moment of silence gave you a false sense of security, leading you to believe the dragons indeed would be satisfied with only one Blurg to chow down on. But no.
Within seconds, one of Karga's men was snatched in the claws of another one of the dragons, lifted off into the night, screaming for help. As if that wasn't enough, another of the Blurg's got targeted next by the huge reptiles. Luckily, thanks to the fact Cara had chosen a high powered semi-automatic from Mando's collection when she had the choice that morning, and the ex-shock trooper managed to hit the beast and kill it before it could drag away the poor, unsuspecting Blurg.
While there were obvious signs of blood pooling down the puncture wounds, the amphibian creature would live to see another Blurg day.
You had just about reloaded your twin blasters when the dragons dove an ultimate time. You didn't know whether it was the glint of the fire in the beskar that had caught their attention, but your gut twisted horribly when you saw one of the colossal beasts spring at Mando.
Your Mandalorian, as Karga had so well articulated.
Mando grunted with the impact of being thrown to the ground, and for a moment you felt your breath miss your throat in panic at the situation unfolding before you.
A snap second is all it would take for the dragon to wrap its talons around Mando, and in even less time they could beat their colossal wings and be off into the unknown with the man you felt more about than almost anyone in your entire life.
Maybe that was what made you do what you did; sheer fucking panic at the idea of him being snatched away from you when there was still so much you had to tell him. The kid needed him; you needed him.
Just as it had done earlier that day, the barrier between you and the force came crumbling down with much more vigour than you expected. Your breath was knocked out of your lungs at the power that overcame your whole body, but you paid no attention to it. This was a dumb, snap decision that had been your last resort to stopping the man you felt something so stupidly deep for being taken away from you.
You screamed out a protesting '"No!" as the dragon wrapped one of its talons under Mando's cuirass, lifting him off the ground all of two feet. You thrust your hand out in front of you, luckily seeming to the others as though you were simply reaching out of reflex to the action, and felt the dragon's force energy meet you right there.
It felt as though you had stuck your hand out into a cool field of energy, and that your own body's warm force met it right at the point of your fingertips, making them tingle with the difference.
'Hello, old friend', you thought to the force, feeling a wave of warmth rip in your stomach as it responded with glee. The force, as any wielder quickly learns, is just as alive as a visible being, if not more.
You felt your energy reach out to the dragon and squeeze, mangling the dragon's force signature in between your grasp and likely making the scaled beast feel as though its lungs were being crushed in on itself.
It let out a wail of a roar, luckily for you making it appear it was simply releasing a battle cry to the man beneath its grasp. You had a split second to decide whether you wanted to take it further, but the creeping feeling of lethargy of using your powers on such an enormous creature after so many years of malpractice hit you. But you would have pushed past it if someone did not already decide for you.
The dragon's cry gave Din the distraction he needed to reach onto his vambrace and flick open his flame thrower. Long tendrils of fire poured out of the arm piece, scorching the side of the best in its path and making it drop Din down to the floor unceremoniously.
Din left the flames to ward off the creature for a moment longer, alongside the blaster shots from the remaining people in the group. It seemed to work and finally fend off the creatures for good as they watched the two dragons fly off into the distance, their one successful catch of the first Blurg in tow.
Dropping your hand, you felt your force manipulation slipping away. Tiredness overcame you, and strangely achy all over at the feeling of the force buzzing through you once more. You couldn't believe you'd done that, opened the floodgates and let in something you swore would die with you. And you'd done it willingly too. Not like earlier where the child forced it upon you; no this time you had chosen to do it if it meant you could save Mando.
There was very little, if anything, you wouldn't have done to keep him safe.
Mando grabbed you from where you stood not a few feet in front of him, yanking you behind him so that they could watch each other's six for any sign that the dragons were coming back for a second meal. But, after a pause of stillness, it seemed they weren't and group visibly relaxed.
Cara looked over to where her other two companions stood on the other side of the fireplace, taking it upon herself to check on the child from where he sat safely inside his cocoon, oblivious to the fact his father figure was almost lining a huge lizard's insides.
Din turned back to where he'd almost thrown the woman not two minutes earlier to protect your blind spot. "Are you alright?" he asked, his breathlessness clear in his tone.
You surprised even yourself with what you did next. You hugged him.
It was very brief, and awkward considering his chest armour pressed against your face, but you paid no attention to it. He let out a sound of shock at your movement and had barely thought to bring his hand down to rest on your back gently as you squeezed his midriff tightly before you let him go. Your face burned from what he could see through his heat sensor, and he put it down to the fact you hadn't meant to be so openly affectionate in front of so many other people when they hadn't ever hugged before. Din couldn't remember the last time someone had hugged him, in fact, let alone while in his beskar.
"Idiot! Scared me half to death," you whispered, head-turning to the floor in embarrassment of your brash action.
"I just wanted to see if you cared," Mando found it in him to joke, and it worked judging by the smile that tugged at your features.
"Of course I care, dikut. Next time just ask rather than trying to make yourself dragon food,"
"Noted." Was all he said as they walked together to join Cara's side watching over the baby.
And you did. He would never know how much it had meant to you to have opened yourself up to the force the way you had, which you had managed to somehow coral back into its tiny box in your mind in the time they had spent talking. He would never know what you had done, but you knew he would be grateful if he had. And, were the roles to have been reversed, you could say with a deal of confidence that he would have done the same for you.
At least, you thought he would.
It hadn't been until they'd returned to the child that they noticed Karga cradling his bloodied arm from where the creature snatched the food from his hands.
"He's hurt badly," Kuiil informed from his place beside the older man. They moved to inspect the injury which, judging by the black veins spiralling out of the wound, was infected, probably some sort of natural defence system the dragons had developed.
"I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm fine. Ow!" Karga tried to reassure, unconvincingly judging by the pained hiss he released when Cara grabbed his affected arm. You would have laughed in any other situation, trust Cara to not waste time pandering to him.
Hold still. They got you good." You had to admit, the three long deep serrated wounds looked as nasty as Karga was finding them to be, and even winced when you saw Cara unclip a shot of Bacta and plunge it into the sensitive tissue.
"How bad?" Mando asked from beside you.
"Bad. The poison is spreading fast."
"So this...this is how it happens," Karga said, almost resigning himself to the pain coursing through his arm.
"Don't be so dramatic. I need another med-pack. Got any other med-packs? Anyone?"
You noticed the child toddling over to you from where he must have hopped out of his crib. He looked at the man writhing in pain on the floor, before turning his tiny body to look up at you who watched him, a good idea of what was running through that devious little mind of his. He seemed to look at you asking for permission.
Judging by the silence that met the request for more medical supplies, they were running out of options too. He could help. He wanted to help, having learned you could not reveal your own abilities like that.
"I'm guessing that's a 'no'," Karga said sadly, as anyone would think that their time was ending. You looked at the child's big onyx eyes that you knew shared the same thought as you had, and nodded to him slightly.
"It's still spreading. This isn't working." Cara said, being much more gentle as she lifted Karga's arm to inspect the dark veins protruding from them and getting angrier. The child had taken your confirmation and shuffled towards the injured man with an almost cheeky look on his face, to Cara's annoyance. "Get this thing outta here."
"Wait," Kuiil said before you had the chance to. The baby gently put one of his clawed hands on the man's cuts, with a slow grasp.
"He's trying to eat me," Karga exclaimed, and you would have snorted if the situation wasn't so pressing. You kneeled down next to the child knowing it would take a lot of energy for such a tiny being to heal the man's large wounds.
"No. He wants to help you." You said, and as if the child understood you, he squeezed his tiny glass eyes shut in concentration.
The black veins began winding in on themselves first before the marred, open tissue wound almost seemed to sew itself shut with little trace it had been there in the first place.
Karga looked from the child to you, to Mando in amazement. His arm was completely healed not a minute later, leaving the baby to sink back down onto his behind, a drowsy look in his eye.
You felt almost the same, having exhorted yourself with your own use of the force, and swiftly grabbed him up off the ground to tuck back into his pram.
Karga watched you put away the child as the Mandalorian shadowed the two naturally, before the adults settled down with little more than a foot between your resting figures, both of you settling near the pod protectively. Greef had noticed how odd Mando's behaviour had been around you, and who could blame him. All he had seen was the big, hunk of beskar armour and a personality just as cold to match its exterior. So seeing him and you enamoured by a tiny bean of a creature somewhat warmed his ageing heart.
But that begged the bigger question in Karga's mind. He knew what he was leading you into, and Greef wasn't sure he had the heart to hand you all over to the Empire's clutches anymore.

This is just a random thought I had after I went to a community event this weekend about the firefighter AU: so when there are big public non-ticketed community events they'll put policemen and firefighters at the event to help with crowd control and for emergencies. And I had a thought of Obi-Wan as part of one of those events (just not in Anakin's jurisdiction) and the fire chief from the area that the event is at begging Mace to send some of his squad since they know how to handle Obi
bless!! firefighter au!!!
it’s not that obi-wan is a diva or anything, it’s just he actually a little bit stupid thanks to all the curt wild stuff he was getting up to when his brain was still developing as a teenage pop sensation, etc etc
so he hears about the crowd controlling firefighters and he’s like :D but then someone on Twitter points out that the concert venue is not in his boyfriend’s firehouse’s jurisdiction, so Skywalker isn’t going to be in attendance
and obviously obi-wan cannot have that, so he meets with the fire chief of the house who will be in charge of crowd control and he’s like “my choreographer and I have decided to add more fire to the first second and third sets” (thinking he can pspspspsps anakin out from under his fridge if he adds more fire)
and the fire chief is like “listen I think this is dangerous maybe that’s all your sets with fire”
and obi-wan is like “maybe you will need double the firefighters.” (not a suggestion)
and the fire chief is like “hm maybe I can get the 96 to help out….”
but obi-wan (who is now an expert on this city’s firehouse division and jurisdiction) is like “no. 501.”
and the fire chief has never had to deal with a spoiled pop star and doesn’t know how to argue with one so he’s like “………fine”
and obi-wan is like 🥰🥰🥰 I’ll let him know 🥰🥰🥰

Episode 4 of Ahsoka has to be one of the best Star Wars episodes yet. I loved it from start to finish.
I mean right off the bat we have Ahsoka outside reminiscing something, which I haven't figured out yet, but I assume is probably her past.
There's the droid fight which honestly I found hilarious, I love watching droids fight so much its so funny to me.
Then Huyang told Sabine and Ahsoka that they're better off together, and it honestly reminded me of when Obi-Wan in the Clone Wars said that so long as they stick together, they'll be fine. Actually crying.
Then we have the duels, THE DUELS! Oh my god where do I even start. I love duels in Star Wars, they're by far my favourite part about it. It was so cool seeing how Sabine improved drastically since her last fight with Shin. And the way Baylan aggravated Ahsoka by mentioning Anakin and her past made the whole episode so much more emotional than it already was. I could see the pain in Ahsoka's eyes and the emotion behind her moves. It reminded me of Anakin a lot, and how much she takes from him and also when she duelled Vader on Malachor. She doesn't want to remember her past and her guilt caused by it, but Baylan knew how to get to her. And it shattered me in the best way.
And when I tell you I gasped when she got shoved off the cliff oh my god I'm not even joking, thought she was dead for a hot second before I realised it was a show about her.
And don't even get me started on the scene where Sabine hands the map over to Baylan. Baylan again is pushing all the right buttons to get right to her soft spot, and it worked. I loved the incredible amount of time it took Sabine to make the decision because, as an indecisive person, I get it. But also because she knows what she's about to do is wrong. She shouldn't have given the map over, and she should've destroyed it, and she knew that. But she wanted to save Ezra. Ezra was the one person left she could save, rather than fail. And she took the risk, despite what pain it could bring her, and Ahsoka.
And where do I even begin on the ending. There's no word good enough to describe it. First of all, when Ahsoka woke up in the World Between Worlds, I knew immediately that THAT was how she was going to get to Sabine. But what happened next, I did not expect.
ANAKIN APPEARED. AS ANAKIN, NOT VADER!! It made me so emotional the whiplash was unreal. The way he said "Hey Snips" almost exactly how Anakin in the Clone Wars said it, I literally cried. And I cannot even imagine how Ahsoka must feel because bare in mind, she last time she saw Anakin as Anakin and not Vader, was right before Order 66. And they never had a time to catch up. The last time Ahsoka saw Anakin as Vader, she thought she was responsible for what happened to him because she left him. Twice. She's had to live with that guilt for so long and seeing him like that must have been the biggest shock of her life. She spent the rest of her life trying to connect with Anakin but being met with a total darkness. In that moment, she saw him. Again. After 30 years.
Heartbreaking.

For the ask thing, how about this section from …without a paddle?
“Not far now,” Kenobi calls over the roaring water. You’d think that a jedi would know better than to tempt fate. A series of alarmed shouts rings out behind them and when Cody turns, he sees an entire tree coming in fast from upstream. It’s going to take out the whole unit. Blasters begin to fire and, for a split second, Cody stops to admire the scene. They’re firing overhead at awkward angles and without clear lines of sight at a moving target while fighting to stay upright, and ninety percent of the bolts are landing. Take that, longnecks. The ARCs double-time it to get the wounded out of harm’s way, but it’s not going to be enough. Maybe with a few shots from the RPS6s, but those can’t really be fired in these– He hears the general’s lightsaber ignite and feels a gentle whoosh of air as the jedi makes an impossible leap. They’re even more strung out now and clustered in small groups here and there, struggling against the water and bracing against one another to remain upright. “HOLD YOUR FIRE!” Wooley bellows and the call runs down what’s left of the lines. Cody adds a bellow of his own. "MOVE IT. NOW." Not everyone is going to make it out before the debris hits, but some will. More if they pick up the pace. The general’s lightsaber casts a blue blur against the water as he cuts, swinging hard and fast in an effort to reduce the tree to rubble so the men have half a chance to dodge the flotsam. Those who can manage begin firing on the smaller pieces to further decrease the threat. There are a lot of minor collisions, but it beats one catastrophic one and Cody’s heart slides down from his throat and back into his chest as he hauls trooper after trooper up onto the bank. They might just pull this off after all. Now who’s tempting fate? He hears Boil’s roar of warning just before one of the larger pieces slips by and hits Waxer broadside, knocking him off his feet. From there, it’s only instinct that makes him grab for purchase and the shiny goes down too, head vanishing beneath the water just as Boil dives to follow. Cody doesn’t even pause to think; he just plunges back in.
Well. I suppose the first item of note here is that I rewrote this bit at least 3 times. For some reason, I always have trouble doing action in present tense and keeping any sort of flow to the piece. It always reads very staccato to me...and this still does, tbh.
The tree came from a real life experience of crossing a swollen river on horseback and having a big limb hit us broadside and almost take the horse out from under me. I was trying to come up with something perilous for them to face and actually considered having the droids catch up, but I couldn't figure a way out of that that didn't end in heavy losses. I'm not sure if comes across clearly, but I also wanted to convey the idea that once Cody made it clear they were crossing, the men did what needed to be done largely of their own volition...including firing on the tree. Everyone saw the risk, knew what had to happen, and made it happen.
In my head, Wooley is going to end up an ARC, so I wanted him to be paying wider attention to things and be the first one who sees the potential danger to Obi-Wan and then, like above, takes action to mitigate it. Cody doesn't countermand or reinforce it because Wooley made the right call and I imagine that later, when everyone is safe and dry, Cody will go tell Wooley that.
I didn't remember doing the bit where Cody just takes a second to sort of admire the men when I wrote Adventures In Babysitting recently, but there’s a similar one in there...where he has a moment to see things from the proverbial outside and can appreciate his brothers. I like the idea of him sort of seeing them in a new perspective and getting to both appreciate their competence and know that, should something happen to him, they'll be fine. I think the rigors of leadership sometimes narrow focus to what is right in front of you and in the moment...being able to step outside of it --even for a brief instant-- let's him see how good they really are and take some pride.  And then Waxer and Boil get into trouble and he just acts himself...sees what needs to happen and makes it happen.
The bit with Waxer and the tree was rewritten a couple of times, too. At first it was him diving after the shiny. Then it was the shiny panicking and taking Waxer under. But it hit better that it was just a fluke...even the best of them can fall victim to shit going sideways. In the first two versions, the shiny drowns, but in the final he demonstrates how good they are, even fresh off Kamino.
There were also a couple of variants on Cody’s convo with him, but all were of similar tone. In one he made a joke about losing his helmet so soon and that veered off into Flood spinning out about it...but in the end this is about Cody, so it got cut. Flood did not manifest fully as an OC until Boil named him--and I did not ask Boil to do so.
And i just realized I went past where the ask ended.  Sorry, got on a roll there.
Thank you for being interested enough to ask! The Rules for this Ask Game, in case anyone else is interested: Pick 500 words from any of an author's fic and paste them into an Ask. The author will respond with a Director's Commentary on the scene.

A bunch of Obi wan related headcanons bc why not
while he's definitely calm+collected in most survival situations, when it comes to having to ration food he gets rather particular?(not exactly anxious but i cant think of the right word) about it. it doesnt matter if another person tells him that they'll have enough food to make it however long, he Has to check it himself. he Has to know exactly how much and how far it can stretch.
that is a man with adhd and autism. you CANNOT convince me otherwise.
in a similar vein, he would love weighted blankets i feel it in my bones
texture issues. low level but never ending. he's fine with like. slimy, gritty, sorta general outdoors shit, but sticky and specifically damp/moist/wet food are hellish.
it is almost impossible to poison him.
chronic migraine haver
Biro+sex-favorable ace. polyam.
cannot sleep for shit. even when he does sleep he's so bad at it. can and will wake up on the floor type deal.
became a good cook out of self preservation(qui-gon couldnt cook for shit)
at least mildly feral
gremlin pada-wan the beloved. bit people when he was younger. did not grow out of the urge, just gained enough self control to pretend he did.
nonverbal when extremely tired
absurdly quiet steps on accident. Cody threatened to bell him at least once
special interest: weird fucking creatures.
thank you for your time

Hayden/Ewan RPF - Taking turns
Event: @domaystic Fandom: Star Wars RPF Rating: Teen and Up Prompt: 13 Taking turns Ship: Hayden/Ewan Disclaimer: References to real people are used fictitiously. Do not share this with the actors! Context: Set during production/wrap up of the filming of the Obi-Wan Kenobi show. Sequel to "Crisis." Words: 704
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The room is dim when Hayden unlocks the door, but he knows Ewan is there because he sees his boots by the door, the flicker of a muted news cycle playing on the TV.
"Ewan?" he asks, because he can't see the man anywhere.
There's no sound, just the smallest wave of a hand from beside the bed and suddenly Hayden sees him. Ewan's back is to the door, he's facing the window which looks out on the massive aquarium, fish swirling in lazy circles, but he's got his face in his hands, elbows on knees.
On instinct, Hayden kneels beside him, stooping so he can peer between Ewan's fingers.
He wants to ask what happened, if anything happened, or if its just one of those days that gets all of us now and again. But he doesn't.
Instead, Hayden reaches up a hand to stroke through hair grown long. He murmurs, "C'mere," and pulls Ewan in to lean against him. "It's okay," he soothes, "it'll be okay," like Ewan is ten years old rather than ten years older. But Ewan doesn't protest.
Without a word from either of them, Ewan begins to slip down and Hayden tilts just enough so that Ewan's head is on his thigh and there's something which rattles through him. A memory, not one he'd forgotten, but one that feels properly balanced now. His head leaning against Ewan's thigh, a terse phone-call, the fist around his heart releasing.
And in the end, his mom had been fine.
Hayden doesn't know what's wrong with Ewan, he doesn't know if it's gonna be fine, but in the cosmic sense… he knows it'll be okay. It's an uneasy sort of reconnection they've had, a few months of talking more and more until it's like the years between then and now are all but erased. There's so much of Ewan's life he only knows as hearsay. He hadn't seen Ewan's eldest since she was a baby, and now she's as old as Hayden was back then… There's a lot, so much that Hayden hasn't told anyone…
He just runs his fingers through Ewan's hair, though neither of them are looking at each other, both staring out the window, at the aquarium. It's grounding him, as much as he hopes its comforting Ewan, the weight of his head, his thigh, the strands beneath his palm.
Eventually, Ewan pushes off. He doesn't make eye contact until he's sitting an arms length away.
"Thank you," he says, his voice gruff, and when Hayden finally looks at him, he can see Ewan's eyes are red-rimmed.
He looks tired. Hayden says as much.
"Fuck off," Ewan says, laughing. "We're old is what we are." He grunts as he gets to his feet, holding out a hand to help Hayden up as well.
Except, Hayden doesn't say, I don't think of us as old. Maybe older. Maybe I've lost my teen idol looks, but so have you.
"Not that old," he replies. "Wanna tell me what happened?"
Ewan doesn't exactly freeze, but he's quieter.
"I don't really want to bother you with it," he says in a low voice.
"It's not a bother," Hayden says, catching Ewan's sleeve before he can slip away. There's an irrational fear that he'll walk out the door and they'll never speak of this again — until twenty years from now, when one of them is falling apart, again. "None of this is a bother. You took care of me, and now…" He shrugs, to encompass many things.
"So we're taking turns now, is that it?"
And this time, when Ewan grins it feels real. It's easy for Hayden to smile back, wide-eyed but feeling affection blossom in his chest.
"Yeah, we are, so why don't you let me buy you dinner and you can tell me what's going on."
Ewan's glance darts away and Hayden fears that the moment will break after all. He doesn't move, as though that's all that's needed to keep them suspended here, and then finally Ewan nods. He pats Hayden on the shoulder and heads to the door to slip on his boots, but waits as Hayden pockets his hotel key and turns off all the lights once more.

Honestly I don't think it's all that guaranteed we get a character death in season 2. I know there's a ton of speculation over Who's Likely To Die but like...
We do not actually have an established precedent for this show going for the Throat in that particular way. There's a ton of places where they could have had an easy tearjerker death to play on the emotions. Two obvious examples - Hera's mom is canonically dead by rebels, it would have been so easy for her not to make it out of the ryloth two poster alive and, of course, AZI's fake out death. Outside of starting with Order 66 I'd say that the show is even light on side character death especially compared to early clone wars that popped clone troopers into the death machine like precious doomed skittles.
Like it's totally possible that someone will die in season 2 or future seasons I just don't think it's necessarily a given. I also actually do think Cody might make it out fine - he's been considered for plot potential with Obi-wan already, so I think there's a good chance he survives the series.
As for the batch themselves I don't think we'll see a death until possibly when they know for a fact they'll be ending the series. Then maybe lose one (I very much do not predict a total party wipe lol) but I could just as easily see them all making it out alive. It's a big universe, there's a lot of room for them to be around in it.

Been reconsidering Reva as of Episode 4's release. I can't obviously judge her story since we'll probably have to wait until the end to see if she's got ulterior motives. At first I liked her fine but I feared we'd just be getting another Trilla, another Inquisitor, former Jedi, bitter and angry at the Jedi Master who abandoned her (if she's one of the younglings at the beginning), and who eventually gets murdered by Vader because of her inevitable failure.
But then episode 4 came along and showed more of her most interesting side as a villain. We've seen Leia's capability of truly connecting with people and reading through their emotions to expose their true selves. Reva represents a dark parallel to Leia. Throughout the show Reva has shown herself to be most capable of knowing how to read others and what would make them crack under pressure, and especially what she can get away with. As soon as she figures the Grand Inquisitor ain't got nothing on her she just stabs it and blames it on Obi Wan. She knows how to reopen Obi's trauma wound to make him more vulnerable. With Leia she shows pretty good manipulation tactics and an accurate understanding of the little princess' feelings. And figures exactly how to turn Leia's love for Lola into a tactical advantage. And most of all her uttering, in the end, of the line "Kenobi is all that matters". She figured Vader out and how she can make him respect her, something no other Inquisitor has truly achieved so far. I'm looking forward to see what they'll do with her in in the last episodes and in her spinoff show.
Trilla might have been more scary, intimidating and a more emotional beast of resentment, but Reva is hiding well whom her anger is truly directed at and is using emotional tactics to play others at her advantage. I don't think I've seen anyone making Vader go, in a matter of seconds, from "I WILL END YOU NOW, YOU WEAK WORTHLESS FAILURE" to "I gravely underestimated you, you get what this is about". I just hope Vader doesn't kill her because that would be extremely predictable and boring.

FIRST BATCH OF AUTHOR REVEALS ❤️‍🔥
Time to start putting a name to these beautifully dark works!
Stay tuned to the next one soon! Reveals will be divided in three rounds, followed by a last compilation of everyone who is still submitting their works 🔥
• (✦థ ェ థ) by bereweillschmidt
• Even if I Fall, I'll Protect You by bereweillschmidt
• will you give in to me? by amadwinter

DNW: Palpatine killing Obi-Wan.

alright yall. pt 2 to the swtor anakin au. ive yet to come up w a better title so uh.
1 | 2 | 2.5
so revan happens. its starts out fine. an attack on korriban? sure why not. an attack on tython at the same time as korriban? okay thats a little suspicious though. whatever, at least hes figuring it w this hot sis agent. they go to manaan and like canon stuff happens. if he met lana beniko, a sith, in his original time, he wouldve been and idiot and refused her help, even at the cost of his own life. but because hes so much more balanced now, he literally Could Not Care Less, and figures a temporary alliance will be fine as long as they figure this shit out.
except this is a lot bigger than they thought it was and this alliance is lasting a lot longer than then it was supposed. again, he still doesnt care that they have a sith on their side, the problem is that he is very much falling in love with the sis agent, and that is Not Good.
see bc the jedi here were able to balance anakin out, he finally saw a little bit of sense in the jedi code. he knows that having attachments can be fine, if the person knows how to control emotions and not let it get in the way of their duty. hes fears that he does not have the capability to control himself, because he remembers padme, and how he would anything for her, even if he didnt realize it at the time.
... speaking of padme, thats another reason hes scared. because having a crush on theron, means hes moving on. not just from padme but from obi wan and rex and cody and the life he had before he came here. he thought he had came to terms with it, but it seems not.
its on his mind the entire time hes on rishi, but he knows better to let it distract him from missions. but thinking about does him some good, and he actually accepts it this time. its all fine and dandy. except just bc hes come to terms w it doesnt mean he isnt in love with theron yeah thats still a problem pls send help-
anyway canon happens, they do rishi shit, him (finally) talks to theron and wow a kiss!! they theres a high chance it wont last, but theyre enjoying it while they can.
everything else kinda goes as canon from theres, and now kotfe time >:D
ah. a droid army. again. wait how are these droids more advanced than the ones 3500 years in the future that doesnt make sense?? whatever he'll figure that out later. except he doesnt get a chance to bc hes frozen in carbonite and the emperor is in his mind.
and the emperor is fascinated. he originally chose anakin bc he was a powerful jedi knight that managed to destroy his physical form of vitiate, but this? this is even better. a jedi with knowledge of the future, who has past corruption that he would be more than happy to exploit.
anakin resist during the uh. the carbonite dream thing and valkorion must admit, the jedi have done a very good job of healing him and returning him to the light. but he will get his way eventually.
of course anakin is freed eventually, swamp shit happens, hes bonding with koth over piloting and fixing things, hk is... a little wierd but whatever.
asylum happens, arcann attacks, and anakin faces him alone, like in canon. but the thing is, he looks at arcann, consumed is hatred and anger, and even a little bit of grief, and he sees himself. a few years ago, that was him. maybe he wasnt gone that far yet but damn was he close. so he does the most jedi thing imaginable and tries to talk to arcann, turn him to the lightside.
he gets stabbed for it.
they finally get to odessan and fuck theron is here. somehow he looks even better than the last time he saw him. he goes to the meeting, they hang out in a cantina. he talks to theron and force is he so happy he doesnt have to hide his relationships anymore.
the rest is fairly canon, anakin is an ls commander, no one gets killed (by him). when he defeats arcann in the battle of odessan, he lets senya get away. he knows they'll both be back.
later, arcann will ask him how he knew. anakin will smile and say "because i used to be you." arcann has a newfound respect for the commander after that.

What would it have been like if Anakin and Obi Wan met at Rex and Ashoka’s commitment ceremony in the tattoo shop AU??? 🥰🥺
i wrote 2k of this, titled the doc like i would put it on ao3, thought it could easily be 9k before i said "no kit bad kit" and that's called self-restraint.
but what would basically happen is that obi-wan is a bit of a dick/loner at parties, anakin loves parties, anakin sees obi-wan about to leave and maybe it's because his inhibitions are lowered because of the alcohol or maybe it's because he's spent the last couple of months planning this and thinking about soulmates and where his and if it'll be platonic and if they'll like him---whatever. he doesn't know why, but he does take one look at the man and he's instantly drawn to him. he's like this guy is the prettiest and most handsome and he must be my soulmate.
meanwhile obi-wan kenobi doesn't want to be here and this overeager, very attractive man is clearly lost if he thinks he actually wants to talk to obi-wan. when the man asks him his name in that sort of desperate tone every person uses when asking that question and hoping you say the name on their body, obi-wan....lies. he doesn't want to be obi-wan kenobi. he picks a random name instead, just for the night. "ben," he tells the man, and the man looks put out for a second before he bounces back into form because maybe anakin was wrong and this guy isn't Obi-Wan Kenobi, soulmate, but he's still very attractive.
and anakin tries to tell him his name, but the music is so loud that obi-wan is like "Adrien??" and anakin is like "Anakin!" "Allen?" "ANAKIN" "Ken?" and anakin is like, ....yeah i'll take it.
but so they hang out the whole rest of the night and anakin is full of happy sighs for weeks after because he's been texting Ben <3 and Ben is so perfect and so wonderful <3 he's even a chef, Rex, can you believe it! a chef! His restaurant is like so famous because he's sooo talented <3 and rex is like "huh wait my brother works as a sous chef at that restaurant and i've been meaning to go maybe i could get us seats at the chef's table or something"
and anakin (heart eyes) is like "oh would you PLEASE, REX?" and rex is like......fine, and they go and anakin almost has a heart attack when he sees the name on the chef's menu (Obi-Wan Kenobi). because wait are ben AND obi-wan kenobi going to be here??? Anakin's heart cannot take that because he really liked ben but obi-wan is his SOULMATE.
then obi-wan comes out and introduces himself as obi-wan before he sees anakin's white, shocked face, and he's like (flustered) "oh! Ken! I didn't know you were going to be here tonight!" and anakin is like "actually it's Anakin. Um. Skywalker." before he rushes out to hyperventilate in the back alley for a bit

Does anyone else just wish to know what Shmi thought of all the stuff that went down after TPM?
Of Padme and Anakin secretly marrying?
Of her grandkids, Luke and Leia?
Of Vader?
Of literally anything?
Or is it just me?

My #1 post of 2022
Ok but what if din was there during the originals and like is crushing so hard… and Vader finds out first his daughter is falling for the smuggler now his son is falling for the mandolrin
Can we have headcanons for Vader’s reaction?
Okay, let's see here...
Now, I think we can all agree Vader does anything he can to get his hands on any and all peices of information on his son.
For "research purposes" ofc. (Not. It's cuz he's a snoop. Anakin's still in there, ya know! )
And lo and behold, what is this Vader finds?
What's this Mandalorian bounty hunter doing tagging along with Luke?
...and not bringing him in for that sweet reward Vader placed on his son's head?
So, Vader being Vader (or Anakin being Anakin) starts to keep a closer eye on this Mando.
He pours over holo footage of this Mando lending a hand to Luke, the princess, and that accursed smuggler Solo (at least Solo seems to be just as disgruntled as he is!)
So from that 3 year gap between ANH and Empire, Vader just can't shake the feeling that this Mando...there's something going on there but he can't figure out what...
AND THEN COMES BESPIN
Vader's trap is set. It goes as planned...until it doesn't. (Shocker, right?)
While that Mando's not there, he *does* overhear a little conversation between Leia and Han about him...and Luke.
He would've choked if he could.
Luke. His son. The only person he still cares about.
Is dating?
A Mandalorian?
Force, no.
Not on his fucking watch.
Vader manages to keep his indignation under control for a bit - until he blurts out (before the I am your father moment) to Luke that he *knows* about his relationship.
Luke is, understandably, confused and worried.
On one hand, "oh no Vader knows about Din!"
On the other... (mind the pun)
What does Luke's love life have to do with Vader?! Has Vader been stalking him or something?! (Yes Luke. The answer is yes.)
Then comes the reveal and Luke's ultimate escape, leaving Vader even more frazzled.
First, he finds out he has a son.
Then, that son has a boyfriend. (Who is he? What did he look like under that stupid helmet!!? How old was he - Vader needs to know, okay?!)
Then comes an offhanded comment from Boba Fett.
"Oh, a Mando is silver and red armor? Yeah I know him."
