What is the weirdest/ most unique way someone has gotten a job on the island? Either they met one of the crew in an odd way, or had a unique interview, or demonstrated an odd skill, anything really
Well, theres Holly, a 30-something year old woman who came here for a day visit with her girlfriend. She did not come here looking for work at all, had a job, was just having a little vacation. But every little normal type here seemed drawn to her. The rattata would ignore food to go see her, the Sentret would all perk up to chatter in her direction, all the Zigzagoon zoomed around her in a hectic fashion. This happened all day, i've not seen them behave like that before. Got to the end of the day and she was exhausted poor woman, they demanded her attention. So I caught her before she left and offered her work. The vast majority of the socially well adjusted normal types seemed to like her enough to listen to her, despite never have been introduced of meeting the woman prior to that day, she had a gift, though it went mostly unnoticed. She declined and left, no big deal, we got back to work.
A couple months later she returned. She'd lost her job, lost her partner, and didnt know what to do with her life, asking if the original job offer was still available. It was. To this day she works in the daycare sector, handling peoples pokemon who want to come in and have a break. No one can figure out why the normal types like her so much, but it's very useful, she's a great worker and a kind person, who just so happened to fall on some hard times. We're lucky to have her here, and since taking the job, she's gotten back on her feet, gained a partner pokemon, a sweet natured Indeedee who came to us with some injuries, and has since healed up just fine.
If not her, then theres alwasy Len. He must be pushing 50 now, a huge guy, very quiet natured. He came here and quietly requested a fight with me, you know, the regular shpeal people like to try and win a favour now and then, though it'd been a while. I couldnt work out why he'd want that, but agreed. His only partner was a Spritzee, an unusual species for a guy like him, i'll admit, but at the time I thought nothing of it. We had our brawl, and I lost. he helepd me up, a good sport, and asked his favour. A job. I laughed and said he could have just applied like a normal person, we had openings at that point in time. He doubted his credentials, and thought his age wouldnt get him very far. He explained that his wife use to love Dotaku, they'd visit regulalry to see the seasonal shows, partake in festivals, the normal stuff. She loved pokemon, and he did not care much for them, had a huge indifference. But he learnt to love them through her, and built a joy later in his life for the critters. Well his wife passed away, and he was left not knowing where to go, or what to do. His job felt meaningless, his home empty, and her partner, that Spritzee, was depressed as all hell. He took a trip to Dotaku to try to cheer it up, and perhaps drag himself from his pit of depression, and found weird joy here. The island heals, it's a place of rest and growth. He felt that.
Turns out Len saw me fighting someone else on his visit, asking a member of staff about the reasoning for it, learning of the favour. He returned a year later for his match. The hairbrained scheme got him a job on the gardening team, no questions asked, and he's been a tireless worker, and strong force of good here since. He had to learn a lot on the job but took it with both hands and ran. He is happy, as is his wifes pokemon. Perhaps there was better ways to get the job but it worked for him, can't argue with that.

as a Luther stannie since the beginning, here's a list of things we learnt about him in season 3 that I like
fell for a scam email at some point
used to play with Viktor's action figures and hold weddings for them
makes mixtapes
confirmation that he just straight up lost his mind on the moon
that he took a small bit of moon rock and made it into a ring (and kept on his person this entire time???)
maybe this is just a me thing, but the moon flashback also showed that he is hairy...all over his body down to his ankles (I haven't watched s1 in ages so maybe that was shown before but eh)
writing 'love Luther' on his packages back to earth and scribbling out 'love'
kept a little photo of him + his siblings on the moon base!!
Klaus calls him Lulu!!!
apparently really likes nut (cashew?) butter
not something we learnt but basically every interaction he had with Viktor the whole season, including arguing with him that his ass looked good in his suit

Molioris Crown
A young Gwen enjoying the Summerday at the Circle's grounds. I just wanted to paint her with shining hair. I have a simple taste. I have a long way to go to acquire the ability to balance details, but one day I'll get there. In the meantime, I'll make you all suffer with my attempts. I'm not sorry.
Process gift under the cut, enjoy :)
also i never really introduced her here. She's a circle mage from the Trevelyan House and is best friends with my beloved Hecate Hawke. I'm usually a bit scared sharing dragon age stuff, mainly because i like both Sebastian and Anders. Anyway, I shall return to my cave. goodbye <3

Now that I've changed the idea of GPiDDS2 (semi-complete index here) so that the Gwen isn't the 616 Gwen but rather Poison Gwen, and Quire is being written out, I'm playing around with the idea of having a different fic, where WCA is still together. And Gwen and Quire are messing with the teleporter built by Nadia's G.I.R.L. buddies. Something goes wrong, they fall through, classic mistake.
The two find themselves in 1960's America. And everything is normal. No heroes, no villains, no costumes, and not even a hint of superpowers.
Gwen freaks out, because she thinks she's back in a 'Real World'-type of place and even if it's not the real thing, she can't handle the thought of being funneled back into the life she had before. And that makes Quire freak out too. Because even when she said she didn't have powers, she always managed herself with confidence, no matter how crazy shit got. How bad is it that Gwen is having a panic attack?
Anyways turns out they're in X-Men First Class and run into the plot accidentally, so Gwen can leave that crisis behind without any introspection (or so she thinks).
Is it too early to think about this, seeing how I have still to write the first fic?? Yes, but the vibes of this movie are impeccable. It has all the vibes. Gwen Poole would love it. Quentin Quire would flex his omega level powers all over Charles, and then freak out when he realised it was THE Charles Xavier.

Scrimbly Jacqueline 19/20: I gave her a cloak. bitches love cloaks! (i'm bitches)
I also drew her staff! She has one, too :)
This nearly became Sorceress-Warlock Jacqueline from THIS AU. Didn't feel like drawing that fit tho so it's just regular canon Jacqueline, lol. (but picturing the scars and the eye patch she doesn't actually need but wears for the aesthetic was a FUN mental image at the beginning of the week! then the horrors persisted and I went WHO HAS THE SPOONS. NOT ME)
Drawing the whooshy cloak was fun. Colouring it was even MORE fun. I was going CRAZY last night trying to find a post I made where I described Jacqueline's staff?? I COULDN'T FUCKING FIND IT AND I S2G I READ IT THE OTHER DAY. LIKE EARLIER THIS WEEK. So hopefully my visual memory served me WELL and I don't find the post and go FUCKING EH at a later date, lol.
this scrimbly was very much a scrimbly lol. I think it took me like 10 minutes to doodle. I'm having a LOW ENERGY WEEK. Feelin burnt out af and dreading the weekend! Woo! Almost DIDN'T scrimbly! Thinking this week's little down spin is gonna push back Frostmas crossposting which is SUPER RUDE bc like. THE AESTHETIC. UPDATING ON THE UNLUCKY DAY. BOO!
RIGHT. DANI RANTS ASIDE, WANT SOME CS LORE/FACTS? BC I GOT SOME! WOO:
All four Frosts would pass the warlock test--the question is, do they fully embrace it? Fino does. Fiera does but like, second to the summer sprite training. Jack learns what's useful/what he wants/needs to. Jacqueline was FINE not warlocking, she's good with the snow, BUT Jack keeps nagging her to at LEAST take the test and when she passes it he's like c'mon. c'mon. warlock training. you know you want tooo I could teach youuuuu
She holds off for a VERY long time then gets schemey brain a couple of centuries down the line and goes for it. It's spoilery and I do want to keep this one close to my chest, BUT:
Essentially she learns that she has something someone needs/wants back and she can only do that by getting into the Warlock training! She uses this to try and bring two estranged people closer and when it doesn't go well she hits Jack up after hours and is like "so my plan is going. hmm. bad. let's start warlock training?" and Jack's like YEAH LET'S FUCKING GOOOO bc A) he told her so. B) he;s been wanting to get her started with the warlock biz for YEARS! AND out of ALL THE TEACHERS SHE'S COMING TO HIM (well. unofficially) and C) he is also enjoying the tea from her little scheme and about the two people in question, lol.
Anyway, enjoy the scrimble! Next week is some prohibition fun ft. Winter, I THINK. I'll have to check my notes 🤔🤔🤔
(and yes the heart clasp and pink in the staff are bc Dite)
