sleepy and v fed up w this blasted reading for japanese history class tomorrow. give me 45 minutes to finish this article and i will be back to talk about kissing or something
#for the blissfully uninitiated: hello i am history student#which is a fantastic thing to be but also a significant pain in the [REDACTED] when it wants to be#the professor for this class is almost unbearably terrible which does not exactly make me WANT to do this reading#but the exam is in like 2 weeks lol#so yk. i have the hardest life of anyone on earth etc etc#god forbid i actually do the degree i asked to do lmao#also i up early this morning to drag myself to the immigration bureau for a visa amendment#which meant a decidedly unpleasant hour on the metro during rush hour :(#its bc im applying for this english TA position in spring#its literally only for 5 days and tbh i wouldn't mind doing it for free bc i am sad like that and enjoy teaching for fun#but it IS paid - and paid work is Not Allowed under my student visa#so even though i literally have not even GOT the job (applications close today) i still had to go and apply for permission to work#watch as they dont hire me lol#oh i should mention - for those who may not know i am in tokyo this year#i am british and i usually go to uni in the uk but im on a study abroad year this year#i came to japan in sept of 2023 so ive been here for coming up on 5 months and i will be going back home in august on 2024#its weird to think that im approaching the halfway point#tbh i should really just make this a separate post but whatever#coming to japan has been very strange but a good thing i think

Happy 10th anniversary to the biggest obsession I've ever had on a piece of media!
Free! And its characters have brought me endless joy throughout the 7 years I've been in the fandom. Although I wasn't there for the very beginning, it was still nice to get to experience a decent part of the show's development and be there for major moments. Watching the final stroke knowing it's the end does leave me feeling sad, but nonetheless I'm happy I was able to see the journey of everyone and watching them grow. Everytime I see how much they've changed since Iwatobi all the way to FS I can't help but feel so proud.
Haru and Rin especially. Those two will forever remain my favorite characters. Their relationship and dynamic gives me life and I loved every moment they appeared together. I will be working on a piece for them later.
For now I share some doodles of the cast.
I hope the fandom continues to stay alive for years to come, because I'm not ready to let go of this show yet.

study smart not hard (altough both is best actually) this saying is so true
#my advice#but this saying is sooo true#i know some people at uni who study for exam so long and hard but then fail or just barely make it :(#like what are you doing? i don't mean this in a mean way but it doesn't have to be this difficult#i don't understand how some people can study for an exam for 2 weeks or even a month and still fail and i don't think they're stupid#or i don't see myself as particulary smart#but i guess they just waste their time a lot and i realized studying effective is so important#now everyone is a bit different and has to find what works best for them but there are certain techniques which are proven to work well#there is so much information on the internet on this look it up seriously#it made my life sm easier i never struggled in uni like i did in school and i get good grades#and if i ever struggled a bit it was because i started so late it was almost impossible to pass 😂#which is why to do both is still best 😂#but i actually always made it and i never failed an exam at uni (which i studied for)#(two i was fooled into to just try without studying bc it's easy lol)#i mean i shouldn't speak too soon but i already made it through some of the most difficult of my studies#ofc it depends on what you study how well this works but i'm speaking for myself#i once passed an exam with a B studying only 2 days as one of the best students while others studied 2 weeks#and got worse grades or failed#still studying only 2 days is stupidity don't do it 😅#so the techniques i find very helpful are ofc exam questions probably the best one#if there are none make your own#then blurting for which there are different ways but i like to just go over a topic and then write down everything i remember#then fill the gaps#quizlet is also great it's an app which allows you to create cards and then tests you in creative ways#videos can be helpful as well for summaries and using summaries in general is normally enough it saves you sm time#normally you don't actually need to know everything but you should be careful it's not a bad summary leaving out too much 😅#and i also like mindmaps bc i'm a very visual person#but all those tipps are mostly for remembering information so it doesn't work so well for other fields of study#well i hope this is somewhat helpful idk 🙈#oh and reading texts over and over again is the most useless in my opinion i don't remember much at all and it takes sm time

2 projects left and i am free this semester
#i finished a fuck load of practical exams#this finals push is something#anyways one of them was a stage play for 21st literature#phantom of the opera! i was a background dancer and backing vocals#i miss practice for it :(#i watched the royal albert hall perf and 2004 movie for it#i'm thinking of watching the other film versions too#all i ask of you & the reprise has been stuck in my head for like 2 weeks now omfg#i did mainly props for this project#the phantom mask and the don juan papers#i took home the papers some masquerade masks and 2 copies of the script we put together hehe#what else uhhm#oh for my birthday my dad bought me the aapi variant of dd#11 from this one guy#its on my like comic wall now hwhe#it's all iron fist lie this month lol#on oct-nov it was all the blindspot/muse covers i had#mm at some point i started a bloodborne file and couldn't decide on how i wanted to make my hunter to look so i just made a bootleg P ..#like from lop. lol#i plan to get a haircut and buy holiday gifts at some point this week#my actual holiday break doesn't start until the 17th because of the remaining project's due dates but i'm going to get my parts done sooner#i think that's all the interesting life updates i have?#a.talks#my apolocheese for the tags explosion. I don't think dating apps are my style, I feel like I'm being a whore for talking to more than one person at a time
#like i met this one person who i was literally so excited talking to#because we literally just got on sooo well over text and id never had that happen before#then we met up and i didnt feel anything#but also i was pmsing hard and i didnt even realize at the time and that literally never makes me feel romantic interest in anyone#and we have been talking a couple weeks and even moved off hinge to discord#and we went on a date and follow eachother on instagram#but i was feeling worried because i cant go on dates at the moment because i have exams in 2 weeks#so i was feeling pressure and asked if we could be friends and explained stuff#and they were very sweet about it and felt good about being friends#but i also started talking to another person and we've been hitting it off too#not quite as well as the other person#but i dont know if the other person is someone i necissarily view romantically#this is so confusing because what if it gets too far#i've never had options before but it feels weirdly dishonest to be talking closely with more than one person#watch it fall through with both lol#although i've never been on another dating app i really like the way hinge is done#it definitely feels much more personal that some of the other ones i've heard about

hiiii!!!! I'm so sorry I haven't posted anything in so long, school has been kicking my ass lol
next week I have finals so I don't think I'll get any writing done this week, BUT
I'm like half way to 2/3 of the way through the mafia au fic (depending on how crazy I get) and I fully plan on either finishing that or writing one of the one shot requests I have not this weekend but the next. so assuming I dont just keel over, I'll try to have Kalpas fluff up soon!!!

I'm so sorry I haven't been on tumblr lately, I've been frequenting discord but I'm genuinely gonna be so drained from the dance exam I had on Friday (which is still causing me physical pain), and an upcoming textiles exam on Wednesday that I need to rush to get my coursework finished before the deadline. I hope content will be back soon, I don't want everyone to wonder where I went lol

my football team is so hopeless
#not dortmund lol i mean the club i play at myself#it makes me want to quit ngl#there are just so many things i'm fed up with#at times it's not fun anymore#i like playing football but there's just a lot wrong with this team#but i'm mostly just hanging around because i don't want to let my coach down like he cares and genuinly seems like a good coach#the only thing which gives me a bit of hope#and i hate letting people down 😅 that and also i hate giving up#but i have never seen a team more hopeless or felt more hopeless playing a sport 😅#and he apparently thinks i'm kind of important to the team which i kind of get but also it doesn't really make a difference...#we're just so hopeless i can’t turn this around lol#i always start and i hope it continues but there's not much i can do#we just have too many people who don't care last match so many have given up#some of our team just refuse to run or move at some point it's awful#like why can't you try#we always loose so high like what's the point but still don't give up#besides that the endurance (and also sprint speed) of most is awful which could be trained to a point#but whenever the coach tries to do that almost no one shows up 💀#and i usually play wing or outside midfielder but i'm supposed to also be a defender apparently what#whenever we get a goal on my side and i'm not back in defence someone moans at me like that's my fault#i get working back but i can’t be everywhere especially when some people don't move#and i actually try to get the ball foreward or try to get the ball back in the front because i don't give up when we're behind#i want to score goals and not settle with loosing and only sit back to do defence anymore#naturally there will be open spaces when i try to do that but how is giving up better even when it's hopeless we could still try scoring#and i can't be everywhere they should try my position they would never last 90min running like i do#besides i'm already exausted each week from my training before like i do sports 2-3 hours 6 or 7 days a week#unfortunately i have to because once again i'm trying some entrance exam (for sports to become a teach in sports and english hopefully)#asides from that i don't like most of the people at my club 😅 it feels a bit like highschool again and i didn't like highschool#so many are ignorant and judgemental#like the girl i told you about with her comment about the cleaning lady instead of wanting to clean up her stuff herself 🙄
