Starter call! Yep, you saw correctly. I've been making progress in my drafts, and I realized since it was mentioned the other day that I function a little better under pressure, so, yes.

These will be a little shorter (and I'm going to be a little strict with myself on that so that I actually get them written), so expect roughly a paragraph and if it stems from an idea that we've spoken about in plotting or whatnot, then it might be a little longer. But generally, they will be shorter starters that knowing me, will become lengthier threads as the replies progress! This is also welcome to non-Genshin blogs, but then please remember that I do not have any verses outside of Yelan's game canon, and so I'll be looking at your Genshin verses!

honestly??? Octavio with any Octoling players gives me the same vibes as Bowser and the Innkeeper Goomba from Super Mario RPG.

you know, the Goomba that ended up defecting from the Army and raising a loving family with kids and is running an inn when Mario, Bowser and the others find him? Bowser is initially gonna chew him out for defecting, but after seeing the happy family, he decides to tell the Goomba he's free to do whatever he wants and leaves it at that.

i get the impression Octavio finds out where a defector has gone and heads to their location ready to raise shell when he sees them???? having fun????? playing cards?????? talking with their new friends??????

and he thinks about how all the Octolings got forced underground for ages and didn't get to have fun on the Surface like the Inklings did and he spends like 10 minutes agonizing over it before he's just *LONG, OVERDRAMATIC SIGH* "a'ight, A'IGHT, FINE! i'll just... drag the next one back."

I am once again thinking of how we never actually see the name that killed L, just his legal name in "Death Note: How to Read".

I'm thinking of Rem ripping out the pages in her death note she'd written on as she turns to dust, taking too the only written instance of name that killed the world's greatest detective, quite possibly as one last act of defiance against Light Yagami. Thinking of how if she hadn't, Light would have read the final name she'd written, kept inside him the knowledge that he's one of the only humans alive to keep the name that L felt was *his* at the day he died. Sure, he could've just attached hard to how he wanted to remember L, but it doesn't take away the fact that it feels as if he *doesn't* know L's name (because with all the focus he had on finding it out it doesn't erase the care he put into finding it)

I'm thinking of L, who's never really identified himself with a name. Not his legal name, given to him by his guardian, nor any of his number of aliases. He might as well have been L Lawliet just as much as he was the detective L, or Eraldo Coil, or Deneuve, or even his brief stint as Hideki Ryuga. He's been called so many names in his life, but doesn't identify with any of them. I'm thinking of the fact that Near and Mello clearly identify themselves as their legal names despite their similar use of aliases, the way that their legal names are explicitly the names needed to kill them. However, with L, we never see his legal name written down in the note nor do we get to see the name floating above his head. Unlike others from a similar background, we don't know the name that killed him, nor does he seem to identify with his legal name.

Of course, this brings up exactly what the name had killed him was, and if it simply was his legal name, why it wasn't just shown as with other characters. For someone who couldn't seem to form an attachment around any of the many names they've been called, I almost wonder if the name that killed him was something secret, played around with in his head, something only he (and someone with the eyes of course) would know.

You know what feeling the Red White and Royal Blue movie is helping me finally put into words?? The joy that comes from ACTUALLY getting to relive a piece of work I love.

By that I don’t mean that it’s exactly the same. It’s actually quite different on many levels. But that’s something that I actually LOVE about it. It’s given me a chance to be surprised by and relive the feeling the book gave me in a new and completely wonderful way. There is no one true perfect, right way to tell any one story, and they did a great job of telling this one in a new and just as enjoyable way.

Love you entire crew and staff and cast and directors and writers of RWRB movie, you’ve captured my heart again.

our mum gave us some soap at one point that's honey and lemon scented and we tried it yesterday and it turns out we're not allergic to it so we were very excited about that.

anyway it turns out it's one that's discontinued and all the ones you can buy online are like £30+ and she'd somehow just managed to get this one for way cheaper.

at least we can use this one though and it does smell really nice and apparently there's a perfume by the same company that we could probably find samples of if we decide we still want to be able to smell like it
