eleven is fascinating to me because he came right off the back of tens horrible traumatic breakdown after he lost everything and he immediately tried to establish himself as the opposite of that. he is funny and goofy and almost childlike, and he bulldozes on in his adventures with amy like nothing happened at all. but then something happens and his masks slips and it's like oh! the core of this man is still anger. he is so so angry all of the time and this façade is the only thing stopping him from being consumed by it. he isn't over any of it and he hasn't moved on. he is wearing a fez and laughing but under that all that exists is age old anger and grief and it is going to consume him

#i do think that this pit of anger was eventually covered and soothed by the ponds #but he didn't adress it and he couldn't even look at it until he was twelve #when he stopped pushing back and repressing everything and finally allowed himself to exist as he was #but ok listen #its all layed out in the first 3 episodes of season 5 and in the way amy sees him #episode 1. here is the new doctor he is energetic and reeling and fun #episode 2. the space whale comparison. here is the new doctor. he is unthinkably ancient and almost godlike but he is so so kind #and patient and good. he is ancient and lonely but he can't stand to see children cry. so the doctor helps people #episode 3. daleks. the doctor is a soldier. these are his age old enemies. he wants them dead and he will stop at nothing #all logic and reason vanish. he is hitting the dalek with a pipe and yelling his head off while amy watches in horror #like obviously we know why but amy didnt #this is not a sane or rational man he is unstable and angry #and in that episode he was stripped back to what he largely is: hate #you would make a good dalek ect ect ect #anyway 3 episodes with 3 very distinct and equally definitely traits layed out like: here you go #i don't like elevens era much but those first 3 episodes were great #doctor who #eleven #amy #eleventh doctor #matt smith #dr who #dw #i mean idk this is what river literally had to spell out for him #eleven was careening completely out of control #how long til doctor means warrior indeed?#mine

#Doodles #Wander Over Yonder #Wander #Sylvia #Lord Hater #Ahhh ♥ Finally the results of my scribbly warmups coming to fruition #I wanted to make a comparison of how on-model I could get everyone first - thus the doubles from the last set as well #Yeah some of those were meant to be a bit wilder....like I said those were my warmups lol here's where things started getting good #It was still an uphill battle but Wander was where I broke - after his big ol' pile'a sketches anyhow. They weren't quite what I was after #But after a point I just got double mad and started making up weird shapes!#And ended up happy with them :D #He looks quite different but I rather like all those aspects of him haha #Squinty eyes and claws and sharp teeth and a bit of a mullet haha #He's a hippy he deserves a mullet as a treat #And a pipe for good measure #And then if Wander was fun Sylvia was on another level <3 #She has something of a Thraddash thing going for her which was not what I intended especially since I've never drawn a Thraddash #But I mean I'm not mad about it lol the Thraddash are pretty cool :)#I think her bottom lip is the real deciding factor there - it's a cool overlap shape! Very shape!#And I know she's got a comb but fluff was too fun not to try fjdsklafd #I do really love how Wander hugging her turned out there haha <3 They're so cute #And finally a differently stylized Hater! Heck! The sharp cheekbones sticking out from his hood is so fun to me haha #And I'm quite pleased with the how the little divot under his chin's shading turned out hehe #I haven't shown off much of my Skeleton Dance stuff which is a shame! #persona 4 #p4 #persona 4 golden #p4g #hanamura yosuke #yosuke hanamura #souyo #this was an interesting scene for a lot of reasons #for context naoto goes out to take a breather and yu follows with yosuke following behind yu.#yosuke cracks a joke to lighten the mood (something i've already talked about a lot is making jokes is yosuke's fall back to raise morale)#there's 3 things happening here - yosuke opts to go outside with yu to cheer yu up instead of staying in to cheer up the rest of the team #so it kind of implicitly suggests that like it or not yosuke kind of still prioritises yu - that yu is the first person yosuke looks to #but it also comes closely at the heels of that moment in the hospital room with namatame and i think this is very much a scene where #yosuke is testing the waters with his r/s with yu like “hey we're good right” by making a joke so that things btwn them feel normal again #and finally it's something that i don't think even yosuke himself realises - HE is the catalyst to yu's realisation on who the culprit is #yosuke's comment that “the fog's so thick the snow gets lost in it” is reminiscent of the english saying “to hide a tree use a forest”#at least for me anyway - snow and fog are both forms of water that come about during low temperatures #but it's right after this comment that yu made the connection that the culprit was someone else that could hide in the crowd #by blending in in a different manner to namatame #namatame was not noticed because he was a delivery driver and that was a mundane everyday figure #but adachi blended in by being one of many police officers that were present in inaba - in other words the tree in the forest #without realising it yosuke has come in clutch to support yu again - i'm fascinated that it wasn't naoto that deduces it #despite being THE detective and being in this scene #it's the combined work of yosuke and yu #and that they really are better with each other #he's good with his queue

Remembering how the comics even ruined the Earth King's character... the feats in that were staggering

#absolutely no one was safe in hindsight #like...how do you even have smellerbee and longshot being alive?#we got some good things out of it specifically mai's aunt and a little more time with her mom #I think she was okay #but it was absolutely not crafted by people who sat down and looked back over the series and said ''okay so what happened offscreen HERE?''#but seriously they had kuei just go back to his throne like no that man wasn't going back for AGES #also you really missed out on a whole Earth Kingdom Civil War plotline where no one knows where this nerd vanished to #and everyone's vying for succession all five generals are trying to lay claim to the throne #meanwhile the king's over in some fishing village learning what a ''boat'' is #he finally resurfaces after ten years like ''I finally know what everything is!'' and Haru of all people has to leave the throne room #because Aang made up some technicality about how he knew Haru's great-great-grandfather and he was actually the former King's banished bro #so now Haru has TOTAL legitimacy and Aang just pulled his Great Divide maneuver again #Kuei has everything straightened out in a month because of his newfound wisdom #has a daughter and we all know how she turns out #seriously though they just...barely tried

#I KNOW THIS IS NOT THE SAME TIE but the callback to castiel's iconic tie here... i refuse to believe it was an accident.#i also don't think it was deliberate choice from production - if anything i believe that maybe jensen unhinged deangirl ackles chose this #my watsonian explanaion for this is when cas died in 12x23 and dean buried him he took his tie off and kept it and hid it in his closet #at first he couldn't even look at it because it was too painful but then cas came backa and all was good again so the tie just stayed in #one of dean's drawers kind of forgotten. and then after cas is taken away in 15x18 and dean is back in the depression pit he finds it #and chooses to wear it on his last hunt ever. i don't even know. i am feeling very bad today #spn finale #destiel #spn 15x20 #spn 12x23 #dean #cas
