Hello! Soo I was wondering if I could request a RemusxReader oneshot/blurb with this scenario. Hear me out:
Reader openly talking to the girls about her crush on Remus she as had for years and just being so casual talking about how much she likes him and thinks he's amazing and hot, and how much she loves him (practically me simping for Rem) and she isn't embarrassed cuz she's known Lily and Marlene for years and they're used to talk like that and tease each other kindly (they usually do it to Lily). But they don't know that Remus and the boys are "accidentally" listening to their conversation.
Lmk what you think! Thankyou ly, byebye <3

"[y/n] are you free tonight? or does loverboy has to take you away before midnight?" marlene said, linking your arms together as you two walked inside the common room.
"yes... why?"
"charms."
"charms?"
"assignment."
"oh-"
"yes."
"charms assignment that you need me to help you with?"
"obviously,"
"ah fine," you eyes slowly averted to the smile of none other that remus lupin. your mind goes fuzzy all of a sudden. he was joking and laughing with james in front of the fireplace. "he looks so happy today," you whispered to yourself, smiling.
"aww, you care about his happiness! just make out already," marlene said, wiggling her thick brows.
"that's one step beyond. not ethical," you shook your head in a mocking manner. "where's lily by the way? is she up here already?"
marlene shrugged as she opened the door to the dormitory, letting the warm air hit both of their faces.
later that night, you were helping marlene out on the charms essay and let's just say... it wasn't going as planned.
"marl, it's not how it is. you have to read the whole thing first then make your own summary about it so professor flitwick won't accuse you of plagiarism."
"but there's too many! why isn't there a charms to shorten paragraphs," she whined like a child on the sidewalk when their moms didn't get ice cream.
"liliana, help me over here. marl doesn't want to read,"
"i doing my eye mask, can't stand up," she reasoned stupidly.
"eye masks stick to your under eyes. yes you can stand up without them falling off. i wish remus was here, he can probably summarise four pages in just two minutes, he's incredibly smart," you closed your little tired eyes.
"if remus was here, he wont be teaching me anything, he would be too busy with you," marlene scoffed, although she is teasing.
"that's right," lily agreed. "remember this morning when [y/n] dropped mashed potatoes on his head? he didn't even blame her! he was blushing."
"also in dada, didn't you see remus was basically mumbling a mantra to be partnered up with [y/n], that's so sweet," marlene continued in a teasing voice, her charms assignment completely tossed of to the side.
you think to yourself, a conversation about remus late at night is way more interesting than charms. so you didn't budge. "aw yea he did, i saw," you cheeks turned crimson as you smile.
"isn't he just so... beautiful? i never look at anyone- except for my barbie dolls when i was five- this way. he is just right in every way."
"mhmmm keep going my love," marlene replied, after noticing a slight crack in the door with the marauders behind it. they were appalled when marlene saw them but marlene stays quiet, sending a wink their way.
at first, they were up here because james wanted to return lily's hair clip in which the boy slyly stole during class for this moment. but the others insisted to go up to see her reaction for some reason.
remus wouldn't complain though. he got to hear what the girl he loves for so much has to say bout him when he's not around.
your back was facing the door with your legs crossed over your chest and you hugging them. "his face may be pretty, but i think his heart is way prettier. for god's sake he holds my hand when i was anxious for that history presentation! he knows my needs so well."
"yes, that's so kind of him," lily urged for you to continue so she can tease you about it the next morning in front of remus lupin.
"and the best part is, remus respects women! he treats me like how i treat the girls and women around me. that's the hottest thing a guy could ever do," you dazed out, burying your face in between your kneecaps.
"ugh we love a respectful king, don't we girls!" marlene said purposely loud so remus can hear the conversation wide and clear from the door. his eyes were basically making heart eyes at the back of your head, his smile is like he had just won a contest and to hide that would be so dishonest.
"i told you to get her on a date sooner, she is the one!" sirius nudged remus rather harshly, but he was too focused on you.
"but what i don't like about him is the fact that he thinks he's not worthy of anything. he is. he deserves the biggest apology and happiness there ever was. he is like a moon river. i would roll my ship at night just to see the sparkles that he got. my huckleberry friend."
"isn't that enough to confirm that [y/n] loves you back, remus?" marlene shouted, her vision straight to the door.
your eyes widened in panic as your blood rushed into your cheeks. was remus hearing all of this? oh no freaking way- he can't be!
the door swung open, revealing the marauders who were standing with their jaws on the floor.
"i'm going out," lily spoke up, slipping out the door with james running after her like a lost puppy.
"you better do something," marlene winked at remus as she pushed him inside the room. remus nodded numbly, processing on what just happened. marlene was already dragging sirius down to give their friends privacy.
"hey, can i come in?"
"gosh i'm so sorry you heard all of that! you don't understand how embarrassing it is for me right now. i wish to disappear!" you scrunched your face, mortified by what his reactions may be.
"listen, uh, what you said were- it really makes me happy that you think of me that way because... so do i! i've been scared to say anything because i just- wasn't sure if you like me that way or not..."
"well, you heard it... what am i going to do now," you whispered the last part under your breath.
lucky for remus, he's got super hearing powers due to his lycanthropy so he heard that as clear as the sky is blue. "we can do what girlfriend and boyfriend do," remus answered shyly, playing with the end of your blanket that dropped from your bed.
"excuse me ma'am, you haven't asked me for dinner yet and now we're girlfriend and boyfriend?" you said in a joking manner to ease the tension out.
"okay let's do baby steps. come here, m'love, want to hold my girl," he opened his arms with his eyes closed. does he even know how cute he is right now?

Aberration
Pairing: Wanda Maximoff x reader
Word count: ~4.3k
Summary: First and second meeting with Nat.
A/N: I have decided not to give a preview of the next part, it was near impossible to find an interesting part that didn’t spoil anything. Hopefully I can post it on Saturday! Here’s something to tide y’all over.
Warnings: Drinking, smidge of violence, and suggestive content.
Saturday nights for you were usually spent holed up in your room of your apartment studying. You usually were preparing for tests days in advance or finishing up some assignments early, but not tonight. Tonight, your friends had convinced you to get out for once and you’ve actually enjoyed yourself. You’d started off getting ice cream at a nearby place before being dragged to a club that was mostly just a bunch of drunk people jumping around. You’d spent most of your time at the bar drinking while your friends danced, but you were fine with that. You were talking with the bartender on and off and you are starting to get a little more buzzed so you’re feeling good. By the time you consider ordering a fifth drink, you notice that someone new is sitting next to you.
Nat had been on business a couple of blocks away not long ago. She’d been striking a deal with a client that hadn’t taken long at all. After checking in with her boss, she realized she had nothing else to do for the night and she considered her options. She was too awake to want to go home and sleep so she found herself wandering down the street. This would be dangerous, idiotic for a normal person given that it was well past a socially acceptable hour to walk around at night alone. That said, Nat wasn’t a normal person, and short of someone just deciding to shoot her out of the blue, she’d have a fairly decent chance of defending herself if any trouble arose.
She didn’t realize that the trouble was waiting for her inside when she walks into a club that’s still filed to the brim. She ventures past the masses of people dancing and heads directly to the bar. She’s thirsty and not nearly drunk enough to think about how this deal had gone, so she sits down at a free barstool and looks around for the bartender.
“She stepped out for a minute. Left me in charge, what can I get you?”
Nat turns to see a woman near her age, maybe a little younger getting up from her seat with a smile. She’s clearly already had a good amount to drink, but she’s steady and clear minded enough to look to Nat with a questioning look as she rounds the bar. She considers just saying she’ll wait since her drink is a little less commonly known. She also considers just ordering something else, but glancing at you again, she realizes that you can probably handle it, or you’ll simply tell her that you can’t.
“Are you sure? I can wait.”
You smile at her kindly before shaking your head and holding up your hands to pretend like you’re writing on a notepad.
“Don’t sweat it. What would you like?”
After ordering Nat watches as you go to make her drink. She’s watching you like a hawk, but you don’t seem to mind as you grab a glass, shaker and the necessary ingredients. You are grateful for the fact that you’d taken a bartending class at a friend’s bachelorette party recently, otherwise you’d be completely out of your element. You get it near perfect and Nat can’t help but smile as she takes it from you with a nod in response to your question.
“Is this right?”
“Looks great, thanks.”
She takes a sip as she watches you look to everyone else at the bar, but they seem fine with their drinks at the moment. You also figure that the bartender will be back any second so you move back around the bar and take your seat back next to the redhead. You grab some of the peanuts in front of you and start cracking them open with a smile.
“Happy to be of service.”
Nat takes a moment to consider you. You’re dressed comfortably, but still your clothes highlight your assets. Nat realizes that you’re probably a student given the proximity to the campus and the tired look in your eyes. She smiles slightly at you before setting down her drink.
“It’s good, thank you…”
She trails off and you smile wider as you finish chewing before shooting her a look. You offer a wave before introducing yourself to the ridiculously attractive redhead. You’ve never seen her before, not here or not on campus. She looked a little older than you and you couldn’t picture her in school. She had an aura of being in charge, of being in control over everything and you’d be shocked if she didn’t hold some sort of authoritative role. You were starting to think of occupations she could hold when you realized you needed to tell her your name.
Private security…CEO....free-lance-
“Y/n. Nice to meet you.”
You hold your glass up to her and she smiles in amusement before humoring you and clinking hers against yours. She takes a sip watching as you do as well before smiling at her decision. She needs to take a break and try to decompress to feel something other than stress and responsibility.
“I’m Nat.”
You talk with the redhead long after the bartender returns, and even after your friends leave to another club. You pass on the opportunity to join them and just stay at the bar with your new drinking buddy. You can tell that Nat is slowly relaxing as you talk to her, but she’s still observant of her surroundings and not drinking enough to truly become drunk. You’ve switched from alcohol to water at this point and after returning from the bathroom where two people were making out, you’re almost disappointed to see two empty seats where you left Nat. You glance at your watch before deciding that it’s probably time for you to leave anyway. You grab your wallet from your purse preparing to pay so you can leave when you hear a voice behind you.
“It’s taken care of already. Do you want to get out of here?”
You feel a hand on your lower back and you have to suppress the urge to shudder at the sound of the redhead’s low voice. You simply nod before smiling at the possibilities that the rest of tonight holds.
You had been right to assume that Nat was someone who enjoyed exercising control in all aspects of life. You’d been unsurprised when she took the lead as soon as you left the bar, and you honestly didn’t mind. You were tired and not being in charge for once was freeing. You were able to relax much better and your sleep once the two of you finally went to bed was amazing, if a little short. You’re woken up by the other occupant of the bed getting up, but you’re too tired to really protest beyond a tired groan. The redhead stops short before she smiles fondly at you. Maybe if things were different, she could have humored the idea of more than just one night together.
“Go back to sleep, dorogoy.”
She doesn’t promise that she’ll be back because she knows she won’t be. She’s just grateful that you fall back to sleep before she finishes getting ready. She sighs as she glances back to you one more time before she leaves as quietly as possible.
You wake up again a couple of hours later and you groan as you stretch out underneath the covers. You’re pleasantly warm and have no intention of getting out of bed yet this early on a Sunday, but sudden realization that you went to bed with someone has your eyes flying open. You look to the other side of the bed and see that it’s empty and a quick glance around the room confirms what you suspected. You frown slightly but don’t get out of bed to confirm that Nat’s gone when you figure that her absence and the lack of anyone’s clothing but your own is pretty much a definitive answer. You pout slightly before lying back down and trying to go back to bed.
Last night had been fun and you suppose you hadn’t expected anything else out of it. However, a goodbye would have been nice. You shake your head at the thought as you yawn and roll over onto your side with a sigh. It doesn’t matter. You probably won’t ever see her again anyway.
1 year later
You try not to show your nerves and make your raging anxiety obvious as you follow Wanda to the bar where you had only been to a couple of times. You were meeting your girlfriend’s best friends for the first time and you were a nervous wreck. Despite having dated for close to a year, this is the first one of Wanda’s friends you’ve met. It was very unconventional and you would have been more upset about it if you didn’t know what Wanda did for a living.
You’d learned early on that she wasn’t actually a student, and that when she had to disappear at random times and sometimes go dark for a few days, it was just her job. She wasn’t ignoring you, and she wasn’t cheating on you, she was just dealing with work.
You hadn’t asked for specifics until you realized that what you had with the redhead had the potential to become serious. You had been with her for a few months before you asked the upfront question of what exactly she meant when she said her job dealt with various businesses. Wanda had been reluctant to tell you out of fear of scaring you off. You hadn’t taken it great honestly, and Wanda had feared losing you when you frowned and shook your head at her confession. However, you’d already decided that you wanted to be with Wanda long term, so you just set a few boundaries that kept you in the dark and allowed Wanda to do what she needed.
Now, almost 6 months after that conversation, Wanda was ready to risk introducing you to her friends. It was nothing against you, and all of her friends had certainly heard a lot about you because Wanda talked about you all the time, but no one had officially met you. Steve and Bucky have both had a single conversation with you, and both were tense and full of suspicion. You were fine with keeping both of these a secret given how poorly they’d gone. Whenever Wanda was out with you, she was careful and she always looked over her shoulder if you two met somewhere that wasn’t private. You rarely went out together, but when you did, she arrived after you always and you always left separately. It took some getting used to, but tonight was one of the first times you and Wanda could arrive and leave somewhere together.
This probably had to do with the fact that you were meeting on her territory and anyone who looked at you twice was going to suffer dearly for it.
Wanda was well aware that this didn’t include her friends though and she had to remind herself that they would love you. She loved you and she was happy with you. That was all her friends should care about, right?
“It’s okay to be nervous. I’m a little nervous too, but they’ll love you.”
You smile at her as she squeezes your hand reassuringly as she leads you through the front doors. The bar is relatively busy, but the noise is just above a quiet murmur accompanied by the clinking of glasses and silverware. You look to the bar first wishing you were comfortable enough to drink and get drunk, but you wanted to make a good impression. It was important that Wanda’s friends liked you. You glance around absentmindedly trying to guess who you were meeting tonight, but always Wanda had been vague about who you were meeting tonight.
“Who exactly are we meeting, Wands?”
Wanda’s smile disappears and her expression becomes neutral as she looks around the bar. She’d promised you her closest friends tonight, but she hadn’t wanted to overwhelm you on the first go. She knew her brother wasn’t meeting you anytime soon because he would be way too over the top overprotective brother and that would freak you out. She had figured that Nat and Yelena would be the least harmful at this point and if things went well with them, Bucky and Steve could join later. They were very chill and kind people, but the fact they were big and imposing made her hesitate to introduce you to them first.
“They’re right over here, detka.”
You turn to where Wanda’s gestured with a nod. You take a deep breath as subtly as possible before you study the duo that you see sitting in the booth. They’re on opposite sides so you only see the blonde and the back of the other woman’s head. The blonde looks close to your age and she notices you and Wanda almost immediately. She looks intimidating and she reminds you of Wanda with how she appraises you within a few seconds of realizing who you are. You aren’t sure if you’re smiling, but you hope you don’t look as intimidated as you feel when you and Wanda arrive at the booth.
“Y/n, meet my friends. This is Yelena…”
She gestures to the blonde who just offers you a small smile before turning to the redhead who’s finally turning to face you. You feel your stomach drop and you know you look as shocked as you feel when you realize who you’re looking at.
“And this is Natasha.”
Nat looks at you and unlike you she’s able to hide her surprise a little better. You see her eyes widen slightly before she schools her features and tamps down her mortification. You on the other hand just stare at her in shock, your face heating up as you try to not think about how Nat looks exactly the same as when you last saw her. Your mind is already trying to put together the clues that you had and the questions that fly around your head about how long she’s worked with Wanda when your girlfriend turns to you at your continued silence.
Wanda frowns as she looks to you in confusion. She’s wondering why you hadn’t introduced yourself when she sees your shock as you stare at Nat. She looks to the other redhead and notices that she’s clearly uncomfortable as well. It’s subtle because Nat is just like that, but Wanda realizes quickly that she’s clearly missing something. Yelena realizes it to and she scowls before shooting her sister a look that she’s avoiding like the plague.
“What’s going on? “
“Y/n, what’s wrong?”
You can’t stop yourself from reacting the way you do. It’s one of your flaws that Wanda’s called endearing at times, but you doubt she’d feel this way right now. When you’re faced with an uncomfortable situation, you usually have to fight the urge to burst into tears or start laughing awkwardly. You take a small step back as you cover your mouth and your eyes start to tear up. You don’t notice Wanda’s bewildered look as you start to laugh incredulously. You can’t believe your luck and you’re doubled over and near crying when you finally manage to hear something that someone says.
“What the fuck is happening?”
This comes from Yelena and you can’t help but feel bad about how horribly you’re portraying yourself right now. You’re sure Wanda’s deeply embarrassed and the slight flush and the evident scowl on your girlfriend’s face supports this claim. You do your best to try to save face with everyone present as you shake your head and wipe your eyes before moving back toward the table.
“I’m sorry, it’s nice to meet you, Yelena. I’ve heard a lot about you, and I’m sure you’re regretting coming here tonight.”
You don’t give her time to respond as you turn to her sister and then your girlfriend with an apologetic look. You take a deep breath before sitting down next to Yelena while Wanda who’s still very confused, sits down next to a silent Nat.
“Good to see you again, Nat.”
This throws everyone at the table off. If Nat had to guess, she would have assumed that you would be a little upset with her. It doesn’t take her long to scold herself for that thought. It was over a year ago when the two of you slept together and there had been no expectations for more. Not to mention, you were with Wanda now and from what the other redhead told her it sounded like the two of you were pretty serious.
Nat clears her throat, ignoring the looks from her friend and sister as she nods in agreement. She reaches out for her drink and downs the rest of it before responding in a low voice.
“You too.”
Wanda’s done just sitting by in stunned silence. She looks between the two who have apparently met each other before asking the obvious question that hasn’t been addressed for some reason. She can’t help her paranoia, and she has a feeling that she’s not going to like what you have to tell her.
“When did you two meet, exactly?”
Nat’s sitting next to her and despite all of her training, she can’t lie to her friend. Her mouth twitches and Wanda doesn’t see it, but Yelena and you do from where you sit across from her. Yelena clearly has her suspicions, and apparently Nat’s behavior is confirming them because the blonde’s mouth drops similarly to how yours did.
“No way. Cyka, what the fuck?”
You and Wanda are looking to her in confusion before the redhead looks to Nat in annoyance. She’s about to pull rank when you speak up from across the table. You’re trying to save Nat from getting in trouble, but you somehow make it worse.
“It was a long time ago, Wanda. It’s not a big deal.”
Wanda turns to you with an angry glare before she speaks through grit teeth. Her friend’s behavior is more telling than your vague statement and Wanda can feel her anger growing at the woman next to her. If she did what Wanda thinks she did she might have to punch her in the face.
“What happened a long time ago, Y/n?”
You open your mouth to respond, but for some reason Nat wants to take over. She figures that if it comes from her Wanda will be less angry. That doesn’t mean she’s getting away with this scot-free.
“We slept together.”
Yelena groans as she slaps her forehead as she mutters ‘I knew it’, but Wanda doesn’t say a thing. She doesn’t even appear to react at all and that scares you more than her yelling. You’ve learned over the months you’ve been with her that she rarely yells when she gets really angry. She’ll kill you with a look and the silent treatment before you eventually come groveling to her for forgiveness.
“How long ago was this?”
Wanda’s question is barely above a whisper but everyone hears it. You’re less concerned about doing the exact math in your head because you can see that Wanda’s angry front is concealing an obvious hurt. You realize you should have clarified this immediately and you almost reach out for her before you realize she might pull away out of anger.
“It was a few months before we met. It was just a one-time thing, right Nat?”
You look to her for help and she immediately nods in confirmation. You both clearly want to get out of this awkward situation that you’d been thrust into unknowingly. With this in mind, Nat speaks up to try and save face and miraculously Wanda becomes even angrier at her words.
“Yeah, that’s right. It didn’t mean anything, Wanda.”
You hadn’t even gotten to register Nat’s words before Wanda was responding in a way that rendered you speechless. You were so distracted by the sight of Wanda shoving Nat that you didn’t hear Yelena mutter an insult under her breath at her sister’s stupid comment. She isn’t surprised that Wanda reacted this way, but you’re practically gawking at your girlfriend who has her friend pinned against the wall with a vicious glare.
“Say that again, Nat. I’m not sure I heard you right.”
Nat clearly realizes her mistake and she shakes her head despite knowing it’s too late. She resists the urge to steal a glance at you for help. That would only make things worse. She’d just insulted you in front of Wanda who thought the world of you, and she was 99% sure she was going to get hit. You finally shake your surprise when you see Wanda’s hold on her friend tighten and her gaze turns even more threatening. If that’s possible. You almost hesitate to speak up because you’re fearful of how Wanda will respond. You’ve never seen her this mad.
“I didn’t mean it like that, Wanda. I swear, it’s just--.”
Nat’s not sure what she can say to make this better, but she’s eternally grateful that you speak up. You sit up and try to reach out for your girlfriend, but she’s too far away. You hurry to stand up and move closer to her to try and prevent whatever violence is about to come.
“Just what?”
Wanda’s gritting her teeth she’s so angry, and she’s surprised by the restraint she’s showing considering what her friend just said. She knows that Nat didn’t mean anything by it, but she’s still a little thrown and angry about the fact that you and Nat apparently met and slept together just months before you started dating her. She suddenly realizes why not introducing you to her friends sooner wasn’t the best idea. Yelena just watches the scene play out in silence, not sure who she’s rooting for. She figured that you’ll be able to calm Wanda down with a little persuasion. She’s honestly such a goner for you. She can tell whenever Wanda talks to her about you. It’s so obvious that she has to resist rolling her eyes.
“Wands, come on. She’s telling the truth. It wasn’t anything other than sex. We never saw each other again.”
When Wanda feels your hand on her shoulder lightly tugging her away from Nat she wants to resist. She wants to punch her friend in the face for the fact that she called you insignificant, and that she got to have you first. The thought makes her shake in anger, but luckily you know Wanda well and you wrap your arms around her shoulders and bodily pull her away from Nat with a pleading look she can’t see.
You feel bad for Nat because honestly it wasn’t a big deal and you wouldn’t have minded never talking about it again. If only you could have hidden your horrible reaction to seeing her again. At least you know how to fix this, it just might take some work. Okay a lot of work to persuade Wanda that you’re not hung up on Nat in the least.
“You might want to get out of her reach, sestra.”
This comes from Yelena, and Nat doesn’t need to be told twice. Since you’re still working on pulling Wanda from the booth, she just ducks under the table and moves to sit beside her sister. She reappears and breathes a sigh of relief when she sees her friend and boss glance to you and sigh in defeat. She frowns and you shoot her a look that would make her laugh under any other circumstance. However, she’s in hot water as it is and she’s not going to risk incurring Wanda’s wrath again.
“Babe, I think you just beat me for the most inappropriate reaction tonight.”
Wanda immediately scowls and the two of you argue briefly about who in fact was the worst behaved so far. You admit that you didn’t do much better, but at least you didn’t threaten anyone, let alone a dear friend with violence over something that happened so long ago. Wanda shoots you a look before she shakes her head and shoots Nat a scathing look.
“I disagree, Y/n. I think that was a completely appropriate reaction to someone calling you insignificant. If it had been anyone else, I would have punched them.”
You simply sighed because you knew you wouldn’t be winning this argument right now. So instead, you decide to apologize and hopefully get Wanda to do the same.
“Alright, love. I apologize for my horrible reaction. Nat, Yelena. I apologize. Now, I believe it’s your turn, Wands.”
The redhead looks to you in confusion before she realizes what you’re saying. She is about to shake her head but you shoot her a warning look that says ‘would you like to sleep on the couch for the indefinite future’, and Wanda relents easily. She hates it when you’re mad at her, and she hates the cold and lonely couch even more.
“Come on, I want to actually get to know your friends instead of worrying about you jumping over the table to throttle one of them.”
Nat seems to stiffen at the idea of this and you can’t blame her, but luckily Wanda’s giving in pretty quickly. You have to resist the urge to smile smugly as she apologizes to Nat.
“I’m sorry, Nat. I shouldn’t have shoved you and gotten mad. I’ll buy tonight.”
You smile at your girlfriend, leaning closer to her as Nat just nods and accepts the apology. Yelena doesn’t let her verbally respond though and she smirks at Wanda as she downs the rest of her drink.
“You were buying anyway, boss.”
You can’t help but laugh at this and when you and Yelena exchange an amused look, you feel the first tendrils of friendship form.

✧ Earn Your Keep ✧
The Collective AU
𖦹⭒°。⋆𖦹 By The Lady Oracle 𖦹⋆°。⭒𖦹
a/n : Just a post explaining the chores and tasks that residents of the manor are assigned. In my AU, it's not realistic that every single individual who lives in the mansion is out killing all of the time.
Tumblr media
"In order to earn your stay here, you'll have to work."
These are the words that Jane says to every new beat up and bloodied resident that washes up on the Slenderman's doorstep. After interrogation and general conditioning, they're brought into the work cycle in which every manor resident must participate in.
It goes without saying that sometimes this 'work' actually means 'murder'. After all, half of the residents wouldn't be in this situation if they hadn't already proved that they could do it. However, some residents aren't as stab-happy as others.
There's not one specific way that tasks are dealt out. Sometimes creeps are allowed to choose their own chores from a task board, other times Jane is forced to curate specialized lists in order to make sure everyone is keeping busy.
Sometimes denizens get specific jobs that never change. For example, Jack in the medical ward makes his stay by providing first aid and medical services to the rest of the residents. Others, however, are assigned chores.
Sometimes this literally means chores; Cleaning projects that no one wants to do, or tasks that the various spirits of the mansion can't handle - like scrubbing bathrooms or doing dishes. Other times it's tasks that help the house function.
One of those tasks includes childcare for some of the younger residents. Although uncommon, it isn't unheard of that children as young as 5 are adopted within the system of the house. Older residents are tasked with babysitting duties - making sure the young ones are entertained and taken care of.
It can also include running out for supplies! Shopping, or stealing, is quite the daunting task in the mansion as everyone is allowed to make requests. Jane is the person who gives the yes or no on certain items, and then a resident is assigned the duty of retrieving those items.
Now you can't just mop the floors of the manor and live there for free....you have to bring blood to the table. Everyone who stays at the manor knows that this is part of the deal, even if they don't fully understand why they have to do it. If a resident of the manor has been taking/assigned non-crime-related duties for a while, they will receive a mission that requires taking someone's life. Honestly this is hardly ever an issue, albeit a little traumatizing to residents who might not necessarily be proud of their violent pasts or monstrous instincts.
That's pretty much all I wanted to write! I love logical little pieces like this in my au, because it breeds so much potential! The reasons I love this is because I think it helps add a much needed fluff/comfort vibe to my au :3 Imagine the possibilities! Like Jeff getting suck on babysitting duty and HATING it hehe, or EJ angst about having to succumb to his demonic and tormented instincts. I absolutely adore the aspects of found family that can be found in this fandom, and I think having this sort of system in place makes it a little more realistic. At least for me! Thanks for reading! And check out my other stuff :)

Something Worth Protecting
Tumblr media
Iceman x Dragon
Bodyguard AU
Dragon's popularity has grown tremendously, and as she takes off on tour, a security team has been hired to see it through. Leading that team is Tom Kazansky. He's the best in the business. He is here to do a job, but for the first time in his career, feelings are involved. He can't get too involved or he'll lose his job. Yet, ignoring what he desires is harder than it looks.

Chapter Nine - Passions
♡♡♡
Rachael wakes up surrounded by warmth. A smile stretches across her face as she remembers exactly why she's so warm. His arms are still wrapped snugly around her.
Tom Kazansky. She was sharing her bed with him.
Rachael opens her eyes slowly and can't help how happy she is feeling. She feels as safe as she can possibly be in his arms.
In the morning light she can see some scars on his chest. Lightly, she traces them with her finger. How long has he been a bodyguard? What kind of things has he had to do to protect the people he is assigned to?
Rachael is so lost in thought that when a hand starts brushing through her hair she jumps. Tom chuckles.
"Good morning."
Rachael smiles and melts under his delicate touch.
"Morning," she whispers.
"How did you sleep?"
"Better than I thought. Thank you."
"What are you thanking me for?" He asks, his voice soft. His fingers continue to mindlessly brush through her hair.
"For staying."
He smiles.
"Of course I was going to stay."
Tom reaches for her hand and holds it to his chest. The two stay silent and enjoy the company of the other.
"What am I supposed to do today? I've never been grounded before," Rachael says, tracing patterns along Tom's chest.
Tom chuckles softly. "What do you normally do with your free days?"
"Oh, that depends. If I'm with Jade, we go and terrorise the town. We are a menace to society."
Tom laughs.
"Ah yes, you strike me as a menace. I can see it in you. You and Jade are a dangerous combination."
Rachael laughs this time.
"If I'm on my own I write songs. Sometimes I knit or read a book. I like watching movies too!"
"How about we order breakfast to our room and start from there?" He asks.
Rachael smiles softly.
"Okay."
Tom gives Rachael a kiss on the forehead and gets up from the bed. Rachael bursts into laughter when she sees him. She had forgotten a about the towel he came to bed wearing, and now it was off. Tom covers himself quickly with the towel and rushes into the bathroom, grabbing his suit as he goes.
Rachael laughs loudly.
While Tom gets dressed, Rachael decides to dress herself. Tom enters the room again before she is fully dressed. Her bare back is facing toward him. He watches her in awe as she dresses.
Once she is clothed, she realises he has been watching. She smiles softly.
"So, breakfast?"
"Right..."
Tom snaps himself back into focus and picks up the room phone. He sends in a request for room service and sits down on the bed after.
"Your breakfast is on it's way," he smiles at her. Rachael chuckles.
"Thank you."
While she waits, she pulls out her notebook. This isn't the first time he has seen her with that book, but it's the first time he's seen her open it. He leans over and tries to take a peek, but Rachael is quick to catch on and covers the pages quickly.
"No one is allowed to see into this book!"
He smiles at her. "Why not?"
"It's private."
"Is it your diary?" He asks.
"No! It's my song book."
"Your song book?"
"Yes. Hermes wouldn't let me sing the songs I wrote when I was with him. I had to sing everything he gave me. Which was okay, but they weren't my words. I want people to hear my own thoughts and feelings."
The smile on his face is soft.
"I'm glad to hear that. You should express yourself in your own music."
"Do you like music?" She asks, wanting to know more about him.
"Yeah, a bit. I work a lot, so music in the car isn't so bad, but I don't really have time to listen to it for pleasure."
Rachael frowns. "That's sad. Do you not have any hobbies?"
"I, uh... I draw a bit."
"Oh!" She perks up. "What do you like to draw?"
"Anything. People, animals, buildings, shapes and colours that have no physical form but just look good."
"Expressive art," she smiles.
"Sure," he agrees. "I just don't have a whole lot of time these days."
"Why did you become a bodyguard?" She asks.
"My boss, Beau Simpson, knew my dad. Told him he could give me a job if I wanted it. At first I declined, but when my dad died I needed better money than the one my last job was giving me. So I went to Simpson and asked if the job was still open. He had saved it for me. Taught me everything I knew. My team has a reputation thanks to me. I'm the best in the business."
"Which is why Jade hired you."
He nods. "I'm going to look after you, Rachael. I swear by it."
She smiles softly.
"I know. I'm glad I have you."
Tom reaches out and tucks some of her hair behind her ear. She leans into his touch. As his hand returns to his lap, Rachael gets an idea. She goes to the back of her book and rip out a page. Tom furrows his brow at her as she holds it out to him.
"I want you to draw something. Can be anything! Whatever you feel."
Tom takes the paper and chuckles softly.
"Alright then."
A knock at the door interrupts their chat and Tom goes to answer it, putting the paper down for a while.
Rachael tucks her notebook away, her new song can wait. When Tom brings the breakfast in, her stomach rumbles.
The pair of them sit down and eat together, enjoying one another's company. As Tom cleans up after, Rachael returns to her book and starts to write some more. He watches as he comes back into the room. She looks so at home. At peace. She's doing what she loves, making music.
The paper she gave him catches his eye. He strolls over to it and and glances back at her. There is one thing he could draw for her.
Tom sits down opposite her and begins his sketching.
A whole hour passes before Rachael closes her book with a smile. Her hand rests on top of it as she gazes at it. Tom glances up in time to see the happy look on her face.
"Can I see?" He asks.
Rachael clutches the book to her chest and shakes her head. "No way! For my eyes only."
He chuckles softly. "Guess I won't show you what I drew then."
Rachael frowns. "Fine." There is no way he was going to read her song.
Tom tucks the drawing away out of sight.
Rachael pouts. It's cute.
"Why don't we go out and get coffee?" Tom suggests.
"I thought I was supposed to stay in my room?"
He smiles. "You'll be with me, you'll be safe."
Rachael smiles back softly and nods her head. She gets up and gets changed. By the times she's ready to go, Tom is waiting for her. The two head on out.
As long as she was with Tom, she was safe.
The two stay close together, so close in fact that at one point Tom places his arm around her to keep her near. She doesn't seem to mind so he keeps it there. He would even go as far as to say she likes it as he notices the pink colour of her cheeks.
He could stay like this forever with her.
They walk into a coffee shop and Tom places their order. They decide to take it to go so they can walk around outside.
While they wait for their order, someone walks past the shop. He wouldn't have stopped if he hadn't had seen her.
Hermes, for the first time since she left, spotted his angel and her bodyguard. He almost couldn't believe what he was seeing. She was as beautiful as he remembered her.
However, his eyes were drawn to the tall blond gentleman next to her. The two were far too close to one another for his liking. There was also the matter of Hermes knowing that the man was her bodyguard. This was too personal for a bodyguard job.
Tom leaned down to say something to Rachael and she laughed. Hermes glared daggers at the man.
He would get her back one way or another. Or she would never perform again.
Hermes moves from the window and pulls out his phone. It wouldn't take him long to find out who Kazansky worked for. His fate would play itself with one tiny phone call.
Then Dragon would be free for the taking.
Tom grabs their drinks and hands Rachael hers. The two leave the shop and head down the street. Rachael is telling him some funny stories about her and Jade. He's hanging onto every word.
♡♡♡
Jade is just getting ready to head out and see if she can think of something to help Rachael out. She had cancelled the next couple of shows and issued refunds to fans. To try and make up for the cancelled shows, Jade had offered money off their next tickets should they wish to try again next time.
Jade didn't want Dragon's fans to feel let down by the singer. However, Jade could hardly make it public that Rachael had been in an accident.
Just as she was heading out, someone comes barging down the hall.
"Wait!"
Jake Seresin comes to a quick stop and tries to catch his breath. Jade glares at the man and waits until he stands up straight before she smacks him across the face.
Jake is left in shock.
"You have some nerve!"
Jake holds the side of his face and looks at her with sad eyes. He deserved that. He knew as much that he did.
"I need to talk to you," he says.
Jade crosses her arms and glares harsher at him.
"Talk. You have 60 seconds."
"I'm sorry about the accident! I was sure her bodyguard saw me, and perhaps she would too. It was an accident. I was so worried about her I tried to look for her in the hospital, but by the time I was able to do that she had been dismissed."
Jade keeps her glare up. "She's fine, but it could have been so much worse."
"I know. I'm sorry."
"Did Hermes put you up to it?" She asks.
"What? No... I... I was running an errand for him. He told me to go through town to get there faster... I didn't know she was even in the car."
Jade relaxes a little.
"No... you wouldn't have. Hermes might have though... if he knew when she had left the concert... Shit, what if you had been set up?"
"What? But how would he know? How could he guarantee I would crash into that car?"
"What were you doing before you crashed?"
"I was talking to Hermes on speaker phone. He said he had to leave quickly, he hung up. The phone fell from the cradle. I tried to pick it up."
"Then the crash... I think Hermes was watching."
"He wouldn't know the phone would fall," Jake said.
"Unless he called you while you were already driving and weren't prepared. Hermes is a clever bastard. Just saying."
Jake and Jade stare at one another.
Jade goes to say something else but her phone rings. She tells Jake to wait a second and answers her phone.
Jake watches as her expression changes quickly.
"I see. Yes, I'll call him in soon. Alright."
Jade hangs up.
"Who was it?"
"A Mr Beau Simpson. Kazansky's boss. He wants me to call Kazansky in for a meeting with him asap. I wonder what that is about."
Jake feels concerned. "Is there anything I can do?"
"Go home and pretend you didn't come to see me. Do what Hermes tells you. I'll contact you at some point."
"Right..."
Jake leaves. Jade stands in the hall and sighs softly. Something feels wrong.
