Boy Meets Girl (Chapter 6)
Author: sumcp
Chapter Six: The Girlfriend
Characters: Dylan O'Brien x Reader
Word Count: 5645
Warnings: swearing, self doubt, bullying(?), Threatening, cheating, terrible sentence structure/grammar and mild violence that makes my heart happy.
Note: This is based off the Disney Channel Movie Starstruck with a twist. I do not own the rights to the movie. Also, if you’re a fan of Britt Robinson you probably won’t like this chapter… at all.
PS. There is a line in here from another personal favorite movie of mine, Let’s see if you spot it. Comments always welcome :)
Chapters: 5 -- 7
Tumblr media
Your alarm had gone off 30 minutes ago, but you just hit snooze and continued stared at the ceiling. It wasn’t like you needed the alarm, you hadn’t even been to sleep yet. Your alarm read 5:30 and you should be getting ready for work but you called the hospital faking sick so you could stay in the confines of your bedroom all day. You knew you should pull yourself together, but you didn’t have the strength. On top of everything that happened yesterday, Annabeth wasn’t talking to you and you honestly couldn’t blame her. She was mad about her car, but what made it was worse was her knowing you lied to her even though you desperately wanted to tell her the truth. You wanted to explain everything to her, and cry on her shoulder about Dylan but you couldn’t.
“What the hell has been going on Y/N? First you totally ditch us at the premier and now you fake going into work and wreck my car? This isn’t like you, please tell me what is going on.” Annabeth pleaded with you to talk to her, and for a split second you almost told her. Almost.
“Nothing’s going on, I told you I was trying to find a shortcut and got lost and before I knew it your car was in a sink hole! I called the tow immediately telling them where it was, and I’m paying for everything. I also ordered you a rent a car. I apologized A.B. I don’t understand why you can’t let it go.” You snapped at her but felt guilty the moment you saw her face.
“Why won’t I let it go? Because you’re my best friend. You have been my best friend for 6 years ever since our freshman year of college Y/N. I know when something’s going on, is it Ryan.. I saw his updated status on Facebook. I’m here for you..” She trailed off looking at you with so much sympathy and it just made you feel guiltier.
“This isn’t about Ryan. I couldn’t care less.” You stated staring at your best friend. She crossed her arms over her chest and you could tell she was becoming angry.
“Then what is it about Y/N?” She was using her lawyer voice you have heard countless times over the past 6 years, and you couldn’t help but feel like you stepped into her court room.
“Nothing.” Liar.
“Okay.” She turned around quickly and stomped into her room. The slam of her door made you wince and you wondered if she was picturing your head in the door frame with how hard she slammed it. You didn’t move from your spot on the couch as you heard her rustling in her room. You were tempted to knock on her door but you didn’t know what to say so you didn’t move.
She came out moments later with a duffel bag and her car keys in her hand. You thought she was going to walk right past you but she decided to stop and break your heart even more than it already was, “when you stop lying and want to tell me the truth, give me a call, I’ll be at Lex’s.” You opened your mouth to say something, anything, to make her stay but nothing came out. She turned her back on you walking to the door. She opened it and looked to you over her shoulder and you were pleading with your eyes but she snapped her head around pulling the door behind her with so much force you swore the apartment shook.
You didn’t want to think about your fight with Annabeth, or how she has ignored ever text you sent her since last night, which was plenty. You eventually drug yourself out of bed, stretching slightly but not bothering to look in the mirror. You knew your eyes were puffy from crying, and you could only imagine what your hair looked like in its messy bun. You grabbed your iPod off its charging dock and clicked the power button which surprisingly turned it on after it’s time spent in your ruined purse from yesterday.
You walked into the kitchen setting the device on the bar, taking your time grabbing a bowl down from one of the taller cabinets and then the lucky charms from the top of the refrigerator. You were pouring the contents into the bowel when the sound of your iPod buzzed on the counter and you all but threw the cereal box down in an attempt to get it. You thought it was Annabeth finally texting you back, but deep down you wished it was Dylan. You were wrong on both accounts when you noticed it was just a notification from Facebook.
You clicked on the notification that read ‘New Friend Request’ wondering who could have added you when the name flashed on the screen and you immediately recognized it. You let the iPod slip from your grasp and hit the bar with a clang. In that moment you felt the universe had some sort of vendetta against you, that you had to have been a serial killer or world dictator in a past life to incur this much pain. Your heart was no longer broke, it was obliterated.
You picked up the iPod and stared at the open notifications for your friend requests.
Spencer Westen has added you as a new friend.
The name alone was like nails on a chalk board, you couldn’t help but cringe at it, but the picture next to her name was the real blow. It was a picture of Ryan down on one knee, in what looks like downtown LA, holding out a velvet ring box standing in front of her while she had happy tears in her eyes. You knew it was crass, you knew it wouldn’t make you feel better, and you knew it was immature but you did it anyway. You threw your iPod across the room straight into the wall of the living room. The iPod landed with a crash and you were sure it was a goner, but it the moment you didn’t care. Seeing that picture short circuited your brain causing you to replay the day you found out who she was.
“Hey baby, we need to talk..” Ryan knocked on your door, but you were busy getting ready for your date so you didn’t pay attention to him.
“I’m almost ready babe, just give me like 5 minutes?” You smiled at him, not noticing the guilty expression on his face. You bend over in your closet digging for your favorite pair of strappy black heels when he cleared his throat behind him. You turned to your fiance, and the look on his face made your heart race. You knew something was wrong and it was sending a million scenarios through your brain. “Is something wrong?” You bit your lip nervously, not wanting him to answer the question.
“Can we talk?” You nodded your head and sat on the end of the bed patting the spot next to you for him to join. He sat down and immediately grabbed your left hand, holding it gently in his hands. You didn’t know what was worse, him not talking or the fact that he wouldn’t make eye contact with you.
“Ry you’re scaring me..” You grabbed his chin with your free hand, turning it so he would have no choice but to look at you. “You know you can tell me anything.. What’s going on?” He grabbed your hand off his face kissing the back of it gently before taking it in his hand. You noticed every hair on your body standing on end, and goose bumps begin to form on your arms as you stared at him. His normally bright blue eyes were clouded over so much so they became a dull gray, and you felt the weight he was carrying from simply looking into them.
He looked away from you and down to his hand which was fiddling with your engagement ring on your finger. He took a deep breath like he was gathering up strength then he uttered four words. They were simple words, nothing about them were menacing just like the ocean or air, but when combined they had the power to leave destruction in their wake.
“I cheated on you.” You retracted your hand from his grip as soon as the words left his lips, and your mind was reeling, and you felt your heart drop to your stomach. You stood up from the bed and walked over to your desk bracing yourself against it.
“What’s her name?” You surprised yourself with the calmness in your voice. You didn’t want to look at him so you continued to stare at the books scattered on your desk as he spoke.
“It doesn’t matter Y/N. It was only once I swear, it was a moment of weakness I swear it meant nothing. Please baby listen to me,” you didn’t hear him get up from the bed but you felt him place his hand on your shoulder, “I love you Y/n/n, I want to marry you.” You shrugged his hand off your shoulder as you turned around to stare at him.
“What’s her name Ryan?” You demanded through clenched teeth.
“Y/N..” He whined reaching for you again but you stepped out of range. He realized he wasn’t going to get out of answering the question, and he ran his hands down his face out of frustration. “It was Spencer..”
“The new doctor at your practice?” You couldn’t belive this, of all the people it had to be her. She joined Ryan and his father’s practice 3 months ago since they decided to expand and needed a pediatric doctor. She was stunningly beautiful, and she was always nice to you when you went into his office.
You met his gaze and saw the man in front of you clearly for the first time. Everyone said he wasn’t good enough for you, but you never believed them, thinking they were crazy. Ryan was 5 years older than you, and you met him at the hospital where he was doing his residency and you fell for him instantly. It was hard not to when you looked at him, he was 6'2 with a lean build and perfectly sculpted, with blonde hair that took longer to fix than your own. You felt honored he wanted to date you, let alone marry you. Ryan came from a wealthy family since his dad had his own private practice, and you always felt out of place but Ryan didn’t seem to care as he introduced you to his stuck up parents who looked down on you from where you came from. You were clouded by his name, and his words that you didn’t see him for what he really was.
“Why?” You looked into his eyes and watched him shift uncomfortably in place.
“Y/n/n you have to believe me, I would never do anything to hurt you. I love you so much. Please baby,” Ryan took a step forward and you stood in place. He took that as a sign and wrapped his arms around you kissing the top of your head as he whispered into your hair line, “please can we just work this out. I promise I will never let it happen again.” You stayed in his embrace for a moment thinking about his apology in your head. You breathed in his cologne which always smelled like sandalwood, but instead of it being comforting it churned your stomach. You were never this girl, the one who depended on a man, and here you were thinking about taking him back.
You knew what you had to do, and as much as it broke you, you did it. You pulled yourself out of Ryan’s embrace and walked over to the door. You looked down at your ring finger admiring the sparkling rock on your hand, and slowly slipped it off. Ryan didn’t take his eyes off you the whole time, and you noticed his voice cracking as he spoke.
“Please Y/N, I love you. She meant nothing. It was–It was the dumbest thing I have ever done in my life. You have to believe me, I want you. I only want you.” He came to stand in front of you, tears forming in the back of his eyes, but you no longer cared. In that moment you forged a steel wall on around your heart, and grabbed his hand placing the engagement ring in his open palm and closed his fist.
“You knew what you were doing and you knew that it would break me and you didn’t let that stop you.”
“Baby pl–”
“Please leave.” You opened the door wider for him, but he didn’t budge.
“I’m not going anywhere.. We can work this out. I know we can.”
“You didn’t just cheat on me Ryan, you cheated on us. On our future..” you shook your head, letting a small sigh escape your lips, “we’re done now Please Leave.” You didn’t want to fight with him, all you wanted was to be left alone and with one last pleading look he granted your wish. He walked through your bedroom door and you shut it behind him collapsing against it. You could no longer hold yourself up as you slid down the door to the floor as the tears you had been holding back came flooding out.
You didn’t bother picking up the iPod, knowing no one would be getting in touch with you anyway.  You didn’t finish pouring the bowel of cereal since your stomach was still churning from the resent news. You made your way to the couch and plopped down grabbing the xbox remote from the coffee table, and started scrolling through Netflix. The house was eerily quiet and that just made you feel lonelier. You couldn’t find anything on Netflix so you switched to Amazon video when one thing caught your eye: Teen Wolf. You knew you shouldn’t click on it but you found your hands were working on their own agenda as they pressed the title. You grabbed a blanket as the start of the show came on and noticed Tyler on the screen.
“Look how young he is.” You muttered to yourself, but you remembered he was like 16 when the show started and the man you met yesterday was 25 now. You watched as he walked outside of his house with a baseball bat when someone came tumbling down from the roof which caused you to jump and the two boys on the TV scream.
“Stiles what the hell are you doing?” Tyler yelled at the boy whose face you saw clearly now.
“You weren’t answering your phone.” You paused the show staring at young Dylan as he was hanging from Scott’s characters house. Your heart broke all over again seeing his face but you couldn’t stop staring. Seeing him now, even if it was just on the TV brought you back to yesterday.
You felt the tears burn your eyes as you walked away from Dylan on the beach. You honestly felt like he had changed, that the moment you shared by the pond, and everything he said about you was true. You knew you had been kidding yourself, there was no way that a girl like you could ever be with someone like him. He could claim he was trying to protect you, but at the end of the day, it came down to one simple fact: you were a nobody.
You finally stumbled back to the spot where you, Annabeth, and Lex set up camp but they were nowhere to be found. You tried to fight back the tears as you made your way to the phone booth. You just opened the door when you heard screaming coming from the beach, but when you turned around you were met with Dylan being surrounded by a bunch of girls and some boys wanting autographs. He smiled his dazzling smile while posing for some pictures as if nothing had happened 5 minutes ago, and that was all the confirmation you needed.
You dug through your purse to find loose change, but stopped yourself turning around to look at Dylan one more time but seeing him smiling while your heart was breaking caused the tears burning in your eyes to cascade down your cheeks. You let yourself have this moment, the same way with Ryan. You pulled yourself together and put the loose change in the slot calling a car to come and take you away from the craziness of Dylan O'Brien and back to reality. You waited till you saw the cab pull up, which didn’t take long, and made your way out of the phone booth. You caught the paparazzi hiding in the bushes as he took Dylan’s picture but you didn’t care, it wasn’t your problem, but what you didn’t know was he wasn’t just taking Dylan’s photo’s, but yours too.
You continued staring at the paused picture on the TV, not wanting to take your eyes off Dylan. He looked like a baby compared to the handsome man he is now, but still unbelievably cute. Dylan had a buzzcut in the episode and you couldn’t help but wonder what he would look like with one now, but quickly dismissed the thought because his shaggy brown hair was enough to send electric shocks to your heart. You told yourself you should stop watching knowing it was only going to cause you more pain, but then again you were never good at doing what you were told. You snuggled under the warm blanket and pressed play, preparing to relive your heartache over and over again ever time you saw him pop up on the screen.
Dylan was a wreck, an emotional and unstable wreck. He crashed at Tyler’s the night before not wanting to come home to an empty apartment. Tyler welcomed him with open arms, and cold beer promising not to talk about her if he didn’t want to. He didn’t want to talk about her, he wanted to talk to her. He wanted to hear her angelic voice, he ached to hear her laugh or her sassy remarks.
He woke up after noon not even bothering to check his phone, which had been off the moment he left the beach yesterday. He knew as soon as he turned it on it would be a fight, and his hangover couldn’t deal with Brittany right now. He made his way downstairs for some coffee, his feet carrying him to the kitchen when he stoped by the kitchen table which had his laptop still up from yesterday. He clicked the mouse pad and was met with Y/N’s smiling face wearing those stupid cat glasses only she could make look good. He watched the pictures change, all of them from yesterday, including the one on his phone where she was wrapped in his arms. He missed Tyler coming up to him setting a cup of coffee on the table for him.
“Bro.. You okay?” Tyler put a comforting hand on his shoulder, squeezing it gently.
“Yeah,” he sighed rubbing a hand down his face, “yeah I just can’t get her out of my mind.”
“Me either, she almost threw up in my car.” Tyler joked trying to lighten the mood which made him chuckle remember when he first met her.
“She’s real yano? She’s annoyingly honest.. She is super smart. Did I tell you she graduated from Stanford?” Dylan asked, admiration for her coating every word as he spoke to his best friend.
“Damn, that’s impressive.”
“I know, I said the same thing. She’s cool, she’s funny.. When she’s not being a pain in my ass, and her sarcasm out does mine by a long shot.”
“That’s saying something.” Tyler mumbled under his breath as he took a sip of his coffee, but Dylan heard him and gave him a playful glare.
“And not to mention the fact that she’s absolutely gorgeous.” Tyler hummed, agreeing with him. Neither of them heard the front door of the house being open, or someone behind them until they heard a throat being cleared.
“Hello boys,” Tyler immediately shut the laptop to hide the pictures, “talking about me?” Britt’s voice rang through the living room and both of them turned around. Tyler clapped him on the shoulder muttering a quick good luck before he bailed to go anywhere in the house that didn’t have them in.
“Look Britt.. I don’t want to fight right now.. please.” Dylan begged rubbing his temples to prevent the headache he knew was coming on.
“Neither do I, just answer me this, is she an actress, is she more famous than me?” Dylan scoffed at her bitterness, he made his way to the couch and she followed behind him.
“No,” he sighed as he sat down on the couch, “she’s not an actress, she’s not famous at all.”
“Okay,” Britt furrowed her brow at him crossing her arms over her chest, “then I really don’t understand why you would pick her.” Her phone started ringing and she pulled in out of her pocket as Dylan narrowed his eyes at her.
“I didn’t pick her.. It just kind of happened.”
She laughed at him shaking her head lightly, “that kind of stuff only happens in the movies.” Dylan was growing more angry with his girlfriend by the second. He didn’t want to talk about Y/N, especially not with her. “This is the real world.” She looked down at her phone, squinting slightly to read whatever was sent to her. Dylan wanted nothing more than to go back to bed and get away from her so he could go back to pining over Y/N. Britt squealed which caused him to practically fall out of his seat on the couch.
“What the hell Britt?” Dylan huffed standing up so he could see what she was so excited about. Tyler ran into the room after hearing her scream and looked at the pair with confusion.
“I just landed a lead role on the CW series! Omg!” She squealed again, and Dylan’s blood ran cold.
“The CW?” He clinched his fists so hard his knuckles were turning white. He heard Tyler mutter an ‘oh shit’ before turning around as fast as he could to avoid the fight that was fixing to happen.
“Yes! I’ll be playing Sabrina the teenage witch. They are doing a remake of it! I can’t believe this it’s going to be so much fun.” She smiled up looking up from her phone but then frowned at him. “What’s your problem, why are you not happy for me?” She put her hands on her hip, glaring at him.
“Oh I don’t know… Is that the show that’s suppose to cross-over with Riverdale?“
"Maybe..” She trailed off twirling a piece of blonde hair around her finger looking anywhere but at him. If he was pissed earlier, he was livid now. He knew about her and KJ, even though she never openly admitted, he knew. He had heard countless rumors, although they came from very reliable sources. He stuck with her every time because he was hoping that somewhere deep down the girl he fell in love with 5 years ago was still there but she wasn’t. As soon as the rumor’s spread about her and him he knew that their relationship was never going to work, but he was always so terrified of what the split could do to his career.
He thought back to what Y/N said about keeping their imagine intact, and she was right. The same reason he hasn’t broken up with her is because he was afraid of what it might do. He has seen countless celebrities break up, and everyone takes one side. He rubbed the back of his neck of frustration, and looked Britt in the eye.
“Do you still love me?” Meeting Y/N has made him more bold now that it ever has been.
“Why would you ask me that? Is it because of her?” She gestured to the laptop containing all of their pictures.
“No I’m asking because I want to know. I want to know why you would accept a TV role which could jeopardize our relationship.” Britt crossed her arms over her chest defensively.
“You’re one to talk. Are you willing to throw our relationship down the drain for some nobody?”
“Yes.” Dylan answered without hesitation, and it surprised her just as much as it did him. She laughed so hard she was bent over, holding her chest. She rubbed her eyes, collecting the tears that began to form in them when she noticed he wasn’t laughing.
“Oh my god.. You’re serious.” She narrowed her eyes at him, and he began to panic.
“Yeah I am.. You have no regard for our relationship obviously, so why should I? Maybe we should just end this here.” Dylan couldn’t stop the words from leaving his lips, and she laughed again.
“So what? Are you breaking up with me?” Dylan thought long and hard about his answer, but in the end there was only one word
“Yes.” A small smirk formed on her lips as soon as that word left his. He felt free the moment he spoke but it was short lived  when she closed the distance between them and smiled sweetly up to him.
“Yano what Dyl, fortunately for you I’m gonna ignore this mental breakdown of yours, just chill out, I have an errand to run, and we can grab dinner tonight.” She leaned up and kissed him hard on the mouth but he didn’t return it. As soon as her lips touched his it felt wrong, foreign even. Her lips left his as quickly as they came and she turned around without another word and walked through the front door.
You just finished season 2 of Teen Wolf and you were hooked. You hadn’t stirred from under your blanket on the couch, unless it was for a bathroom break. You rewinded the TV to the part where Stiles was watching Lydia run to Jackson, with tears in his eyes. As painful as it was to see him on the TV, it was even worse to see him with tears in his eyes. You knew that it was all acting, but he was so believable. You might have been head over heels for Dylan but you wanted Stile’s and Lydia to be happy forever. If you couldn’t have your happily ever after, at least your favorite fictional characters should.
You were about to press play on season 3 when there was a knock on the door. You thought maybe AnnaBeth forgot her key at Lex’s and you ran to the door opening it in a rush. You froze as you stared at the girl in front of you, who was the last person on earth you thought would be at your door, with your mouth wide open.
“You’re Y/N right?” Britt Robinson smiled at you and walked into your apartment not waiting to be invited. You stared at her as she made her way into the living room and quickly closed the door behind her. You took a moment to look at the gorgeous girl in front of you. She had long blonde hair which was styled in perfect curls, and a pair of jeans with knee high boots and a tight black tank top on. You gazed from her appearance to yours and felt self-conscious. You were wearing poop emoji pink plush pajama bottoms with a Stanford T-shirt. You brought your hand to your hair to adjust your messy bun, and fix any stray hairs. “Cute apartment.” She smiled again, but you heard the mocking tone that coated her words.
“Um.. No offense but what are you doing here.. In my apartment?” The words came out more harsh than you ment, and the smile didn’t disappear from her lips, if possible it got wider. You saw the hint of destruction in her eyes, and you were starting to panic.
“Oh no reason,” she trailed off picking up a picture frame of you and Annabeth staring at it, “I just wanted to meet the girl that has my boyfriend so blinded he can’t think straight.” She shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” You crossed your arms over your chest as you locked eyes with her. She let the picture she was holding fall to the ground and the echo of glass shattering echoed through the room.
“Oops.” A smirk replaced her smile as you gritted your teeth. Bitch.
“Accidents happen.” You smiled sweetly at her, but your voice betrayed you.
“That they do,” she mused to herself more than you, “Like Dylan meeting you for example.”
“What do you want Britt?” You didn’t want to beat around the bush any longer, knowing there was something she wanted.
“I want you to stay away from my boyfriend.”
“Dylan made it perfectly clear yesterday, he doesn’t want anything to do with me.”
“See that’s where you’re wrong.. He has this notion that he doesn’t need me anymore, that he can date whoever he wants, but that’s not the case. He does need me.”
“Are you sure it’s not the other way around?” You sassed at her, raising your eyebrows daringly.
“As sure as I am that you have no chance with him.” She stopped pacing the living room and pointed to the TV which was still paused on Stiles, “You see that? He’s famous. He is a ce-le-bri-ty. You are what? A nurse at a hospital?” You bit your lip to keep from snapping at her as she continued, “you will never be good enough for him. What do you have to offer hm? You’re just a little girl chasing a fantasy you will never see the end to. You can’t help his career, you’re not famous and let’s be honest you’re not that pretty either. I mean you’re just..” She smiled at you thinking of an insult, “Ordinary.”
It felt like she had reached in your chest and squeezed your heart with that word, the one Dylan called you yesterday on the beach. You felt the same sensation come over you as earlier and you knew you shouldn’t sink to her level, but of course your reflexes acted before you could scream at them to stop. You reared your right hand back and it came with full force connecting with Britt’s cheek. The sound of your palm connecting to her skin chorused through the room, and you felt your heart beat pounding in your chest.
Britt raised her hand to her now red cheek and laughed. You were trying to regain control of your breathing but nothing was helping. She stepped closer to you, the smile still plastered on her face. “That’s the difference between you and me sweetheart, I know how to control myself. You can take the white trash out of the girl and move her to a big city but deep down you will always be her. You might have graduated from some fancy school but you lack class, and Dylan can’t have someone by his side with a temper like yours. Do yourself a favor, leave him alone before you drag him down even further.”
You had tears burning in your eyes, and she smirked at you. She walked to the door and you watched her go but not before she turned around to you, putting on her best sincere face, “It was nice meeting you Y/N, we should do it again some time.” With that she opened the door and closed it behind her. You stood in your living room, absorbing everything she said to you. Silent tears fell down your cheek and you wondered again what you did to deserve this. You knew how the saying went, sometimes suffering is just suffering. It doesn’t make you strong. It doesn’t build character. It only hurts, and right now you felt the damage to your heart slowly becoming irreversible.

Speak Now
Dylan O’Brien x Reader
Tumblr media
(NOT MY GIF)
A/N: I wrote this so long ago and now I’m finally creating the courage to publish it here. I hope you all enjoy. And please, let me know. Feedback is everything.
Warnings: a little bit of cursing and lots of fluff. slightly angsty. also, this was based on the song “speak now” by taylor swift.
Word Count: 1400
"I'm out for five months and when I finally get back, he's about to get married?" I shrieked, shaking my head in disbelief. Frustrated with my response, Julia O’Brien sighed, dropping her shoulders in defeat. She had been the one imbued with the responsibility to tell me the news. But I simply couldn't believe what the girl had told me. I mean, it all happened so fast! There's no way my poor head would be able to assimilate it. In fact, it never even occurred to me that I'd lose the love of my life. No, no way. I should explain how my life came to this mess, right? Oh, well, it all began with me having to go away so I could help my sister out; she had just given birth, to a eight pound baby, yes, poor woman, and needed someone to take care of her, mainly because her husband was this huge wanker and refused to his job as a partner. This, alongside my mother's constant preaching, made me feel bad, which means I ended up accepting it. Of course I didn't want to leave my life behind, but I refused to be the bitch who wouldn't lay a hand to her own flesh and blood.
Do I have to say it was extremely stressful? Fuck, I can swear that I never hated my name more in my entire life. “Y/N, watch out for Jimmy!”, “Y/N, bring me tea!”, “Y/N, Y/N, Y/N!”. I must admit that, for a brief second, I fantasized about killing my sister. Or kill myself. Who knows? It would be a lot faster and I could leave a note blaming my sister for the whole thing. Alright, I'm done with the acid comments.
The real problem was, actually, that she lived in a small town far away from London. It was so isolated that I could pretty much say she lived in a farm. And I couldn't just be travelling all the time, therefore its location forced me to move there. It would only be a few months, so I didn't see why I shouldn't do it. Who would have guessed that, in the meantime, my boyfriend, or so I thought he was, whom I loved and trusted deeply, would get engaged and would be about to marry another woman? Oh, God, he is even at the church right now!
"Y/N, it wasn't his wish to be marrying her. He loves you more than anything in this world. You know that.” Julia argued, her brown eyes trying to persuade me. "Still, my parents forced him to do it. She's the daughter of a big ass business man who works with my father and-”
"Stop it right there!” I quirked a brown, narrowing my eyes, clearly infuriated. “Dylan is grown man, he doesn't need anyone making his choices for him.” "Yeah, Y/N, but you have to understand he wasn't given much of a choice..." “I don't want to, and I won't, understand this, Jules.” My voice was strangled, I could feel the tears welling up on my eyes. “I can't do this.” Oh, fuck no! I would not let my gorgeous pumpkin tie the knot with someone else without at least explaining to me what the hell was this entire thing about. Clumsily standing up from the couch I was sitting on, I ran out of the house, not even giving a word to my former sister-in-law. I needed to act quick, otherwise I would lose him forever. “I'm not a kind of girl Who should be rudely barging on a white veil occasion But you are not the kind of boy Who should be marrying the wrong girl" Julia had said that the church was close to their home, so I didn't bother to get my car and drive there. It was time to put into practice all my years of jogging. It didn’t take long for me to spot the beautiful arranged place. The same one his parents got married.
Due to my running, the short sundress I had on was drenched in sweat; not that I cared, though. I could only set my thoughts on the lots of people who were coming in and out of the church. By the looks of it, the ceremony was yet to start.
I stealthily walked in, watching the guests buzzing around me and trying to recognise them; but they were completely unknown. That was until I found his best friend standing next to the old looking priest. Tyler had a tired expression on his face, like he rather be anywhere else but here. I saw his other friends as well; they were seated on the front row, mirroring Posey's traits. No one appearing to be happy. Not even her parents, who set it all up. “I sneak in and see your friends And her snotty little family all dressed in pastels” As I went a little deeper into the church, I heard someone loudly complaining in the back. I quickly recognised the grumpy person as Britt Robertson, Dylan's ex. He had told me about her a few times and I never really pictured her as the obsessive type. I was obviously wrong.
Britt was yelling at one of her bridesmaids, clearly quite annoyed by something the poor girl had done prior my arrival. But, as much as I was delighted to hear her in such a bad mood, I still wanted to find Dylan in that sea of people. In my mind, I thought I could convince him to ditch this whole thing and run away with me.
Nevertheless, before I could find him, the nuptial march started to play in the background, announcing the wedding’s beginning. Despite it being a joyful sound, I started to feel nauseated by it and a few disgusted shivers went down my spine.
From behind a curtain, I watched her slowly walk inside the church, so full of herself, looking like a freaking model. My mind screamed that I should be the one in her shoes. Wearing a white gown, moving happily towards the man I loved, not her. Not someone who treated him like a prize.
"And the organ starts to play A song that sounds like a death march And I am hiding in the curtains It seems that I was uninvited By your lovely bride to be She floats down the aisle like A pageant queen" When she got there, everyone sat down and I was finally able to see him. Dylan was standing next to the priest, looking handsome as ever in a black tuxedo. His brown hair messy, his pink lips in a straight line and a ghost of the scruff I loved so much against my legs were there, brightening him. Everything seemed to be unchanged. Except for his eyes. The beautiful whiskey coloured eyes I fell for had lost the sparkling beam I saw every time he looked at me. They seemed tired. Sad. Which should make me happy, but instead, I was saddened, a sinking feeling reaching my stomach as if I had been punched.
Fear crept through my form completely, making my hands shake and making me forget what I was supposed to say. Should I really disrupt this marriage? Would I be this kind of girl? The answer was clear in my head: Yes, I would. Despite being selfish, I needed Dylan in my life. I could not afford to lose him.
I bit my bottom lip, sitting down and deciding to wait for a while. It wasn't the time to speak up. No, I'd wait for the priest's words, then I would act. Yes, it sounds like a good plan. "Do not say yes, let's run away now, I'll meet you in the aisle of the church by the back door Do not wait, or say a single vow, You need to hear me out, And they said speak now" The minute I heard him say “speak now or forever hold your peace”, I knew I couldn't wait any longer. I had to stop this bloody joke right now. So I rushed to the church's entrance, walking down the red carpet until I was in front of the couple. In front of him. He seemed surprised when our gazes mingled together, but it swiftly faded away, being replaced by tenderness. Only then his lips curled into a smile. Plus, in that moment, I didn’t care how crazy this was, I just went and linked our mouths together, fully aware of the horrified looks everyone was shooting at us. I couldn’t care less, though.
I pulled away, locking my gaze on Dylan’s. Suddenly, it all felt right again, despite my awful bad timing. He gave me a reassuring look, squeezing my hand and making me feel unique, like he always did. Oh, damn you, O’Brien!
“Don’t this to me please.” I quietly begged, not bothering to understand Britt’s angry squeals. “I love you so much, Dyl.”
“And I love you, Y/N.” He then looked at everyone inside the church, his eyes apologetic. “I’m so sorry, but I can’t marry. Not when I love her. This was a huge mistake.”
“I hear the preacher say 'Speak now or forever hold your peace' There's a silence, there's my last chance, I stand up with shaky hands All eyes on me, Horrified looks from everyone in the room But I'm only looking at you"
Tumblr media
I never really believed in fairytales or happy endings. It just wasn't my thing. However, from time to time, they do happen. And as I firmly intertwined Dylan's slim fingers on mine, running far away from that dreadful scene, I was sure that I would never again doubt that true love existed.
Not ever.
"And you'll say" let's run away now,
I'll meet in the aisle in my tux by the back door
Baby, I did not see myself,
I'm glad you were around
When they said speak now "

Ten movies in Feb. 2017
Hidden Figures This feel-good drama about three unsung heroes topped the US box office on inauguration weekend, and has since nabbed Academy Awards nominations for Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay. In an era of segregation, African-American women Katherine Johnson (Taraji P Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer – who received the nomination) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe) calculated the mathematical data needed to launch Nasa’s first successful space missions. Directed by Theodore Melfi and based on a true story, the film is an ensemble piece, with a cast including Kevin Costner, Kirsten Dunst and Mahershala Ali in “a mash-up of the space race and civil rights that serves both well”. Screenwriter Allison Schroeder – who grew up at Cape Canaveral, and whose grandmother was a computer programmer at Nasa – has crafted a film that’s “both a dazzling piece of entertainment and a window into history”, according to Time magazine. Released 2 February in Brazil and Germany and 23 February in Singapore. The Salesman Oscar-winning writer-director Asghar Farhadi (A Separation) returns to Iran with The Salesman, which has picked up a Best Foreign Language Film nomination in this year’s Academy Awards. Shahab Hosseini and Taraneh Alidoosti star as a husband and wife in Tehran navigating marriage problems while performing in a production of Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman. Forced to leave their apartment, which is in danger of collapsing, they struggle to cope after a mysterious assault. “With every shot, our sympathies flicker and tilt”, says The New Yorker, while The Chicago Reader praises Farhadi for privileging “a woman's viewpoint without either sharing or exploring it”. Released 2 February in the Czech Republic and Germany and 23 February in Argentina. Land of Mine Another Oscar nominee for Best Foreign Language Film, this tense Danish drama delivers “a classic wide-screen World War Two epic… with a number of unsettling twists”, according to the LA Times. Writer-director Martin Zandvliet’s third feature tells the story of a group of German POWs forced to remove landmines from a stretch of beach at the war’s end. According to Variety, “Zandvliet’s script and direction avoid milking an innately loaded situation for excess melodrama or pathos, sticking to a discreet economy of approach that accumulates considerable power”. Released 9 February in Greece and 17 February in the US. The Great Wall Critics have been mixed about this Chinese-US blockbuster from acclaimed director Zhang Yimou, with Singapore’s Strait Times calling the epic an “attempt at Hollywood capitalism with Chinese characteristics”. Backed by a Chinese-owned Hollywood studio, The Great Wall is the most expensive film ever made in China, which is expected to become the world’s largest film biggest market by 2019, and there have been doubts over its cultural sensitivity. Yet some reviews have been positive, with The Guardian saying “Simultaneously futuristic and historic, the visual spectacle carries the film… the director’s artistic touch is on display in his long panoramic sweeps and artful use of colour”. Matt Damon stars as an Irish mercenary alongside Andy Lau and Jing Tian in a film that looks at China’s relationship with foreigners – without being too heavy-handed. According to the South China Morning Post, “Zhang appears to remember that he is delivering fantasy entertainment, not a political manifesto”. Released 16 February in Russia and Australia and 17 February in the US. I am not Your Negro Billed as “a journey into black history that connects the past of the Civil Rights movement to the present of #BlackLivesMatter”, this documentary from film-maker Raoul Peck (Sometimes in April) imagines an unfinished book by James Baldwin. At the time of his death in 1987, the writer left 30 pages describing an assignment he turned down in the late ‘70s. They outlined a personal account of the lives and assassinations of three of his close friends, the civil rights leaders Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr. Weaving Baldwin’s words (narrated by Samuel L Jackson) with archive footage, Peck “makes a persuasive, intuitive case for Baldwin as a poet and a prophet”. He also makes connections between the past and present, opening with a montage of photos from Ferguson, Missouri and of Tamir Rice and Trayvon Martin. According to The New Yorker, “Peck’s references to current events reveal Baldwin’s view of history and his prophetic visions to be painfully accurate”. Released 3 February in the US, 17 March in Sweden. The Space Between Us Peter Chelsom (Hector and the Search for Happiness) directs an interplanetary adventure tackling a perennial young adult topic with a cosmic spin. The Space Between Us stars Asa Butterfield as a teenage boy who was born on Mars when an astronaut discovered she was pregnant en route to the red planet. After beginning an online friendship with a girl called Tulsa (Britt Robertson), he travels to Earth but discovers his organs can’t survive there. Running out of time, he goes on a road trip with Tulsa in search of his father. In an interview, Butterfield described how the film doesn’t fit one genre: “It’s kind of got a sci-fi element. It’s a road trip. It’s a love story. I think, most of all, it’s a coming-of-age film about this boy learning to be human and finding out where he belongs.” Released 3 February in Canada, 9 February in Germany and 16 February in Hong Kong. The Lego Batman Movie Arrested Development alumni Will Arnett and Michael Cera co-star as Batman and Robin in this spin-off from 2014’s The Lego Movie. Rosario Dawson is Batgirl (who in this role is also Gotham City’s female Police Commissioner), Siri plays the batcave computer and Ralph Fiennes is Alfred Pennyworth in what director Chris McKay has called “a critique of the Batman character”. In a panel discussion, he said “we wanted to take a look at how absurd this guy is… The thing that he does to fix the hole in his heart is to go out and learn karate and dress up like a bat and fight criminals at night.” That said, Arnett’s reprisal of the role looks to be a more sympathetic take than the pompous character in The Lego Movie – in the trailer, he sits by himself in his mansion attempting to synch his gadgets. On general release from 9 February. Kiki An artform made famous in Madonna’s 1990 Vogue music video has seen a revival in recent years, and some of the scene’s key figures appear in a documentary combining personal stories with exuberant dance performances. Jennie Livingston offered an inside look at New York’s ballroom culture in her landmark film Paris is Burning, which won the grand jury prize at Sundance in 1991, and this film from director and co-writer Sara Jordenö and co-writer Twiggy Pucci Garçon shows a new subculture combining art with activism. According to The New York Times, “Kiki fluidly combines interviews with on-the-street and dance-floor scenes to create an exhilarating, multifaceted portrait of ballroom participants, a number of whom are LGBT activists”. Following seven characters from the Kiki community over the course of four years, Swedish film-maker Jordenö looks at the lives of the youth outside the dances to create “a kaleidoscopic and vivid rendering of a world that is larger than life, flamboyant but ultimately fragile”. Released 24 February in the US and online.

50 - What Being Left Out Causes
Tumblr media
Part 51
Family is More than Blood
@secretdreamlandmentality
Missy’s pov
Grabbing a hold of the football when it hit my chest I smiled in the direction of Ethan and MG. We had gone out here after school since we all agreed we could be friends or date, not worrying about what Dr. Saltzman wanted us to do. "Dang you boys might be giving me trouble.”
“Don’t worry, Missy. You would be running circles around us both in other situations.” Ethan chuckles standing by MG.
I smiled, enjoying the feeling that had happened between the three of us. My phone started ringing in my jacket so I placed it up to my ear hearing my father’s name. “Melissa, I need you back at the school immediately!”
“Woah dad. Slow down. What are you yelling about?” I asked him, hearing the panic in his raised voice.
MG vamped over to my side. “Everything okay?”
“You’re sisters are bloody idiots for bringing Landon back. Your mother took her magic back but she hasn’t woken up. So I need you back at the school now!” Shrugging my shoulders to my vampire friend while my father declared to me.
Running my freehand through my hair I attempted to reply the best I could. “I’ll be there as fast as I can. Well save her like always.”
“Missy, is everything okay?” Ethan walked over picking up the football off the turf that I had dropped focusing on my conversation with my father.
I paused to find the best response. “My mom is in some trouble because of my sisters.”
“Then let’s go help her.” Ethan piped up.
Raising a hand I stopped him before he could say anything more and I knew that MG would agree with me on this. He may know the truth but he doesn’t know how to help my mom, especially when it comes to magic. “Ethan, I think I can handle this. You and MG can just hang out until I get back.”
“Okay, just be careful M & M.” Ethan hugged me and I hugged him.
“Watch out for him, Milton.” I nodded and MG nodded in agreement watching me vamp off away from them. Skidding my feet on the front doorstep of the Salvatore School I pushed the door opened heading upstairs hearing yelling that could only belong to my father.
“Do you have any idea of what you have done to your mother? She wasn’t taking her magic for a reason and she probably wouldn’t if you hadn’t been trying to get yourselves killed!”
Hope began speaking towards him. “You would have done whatever it took to save mom. Screw the consequences for the others around you.”
“And Hope didn’t think it would go as bad. It was mom’s choice to step in.” Alina said behind her sister, even though the werewitch knew that it was mostly her older sister’s fault.
Our father ran a hand harshly down his face. “You’re mother and I will always react when you kids are getting yourselves in trouble. Dark magic is very dangerous from my experience with your mother. You could’ve died.”
“Josie and I stepped in so Lizzie and Hope wouldn’t die.” Alina snapped in defense.
Dad growled. “You shouldn't have even been doing the spell in the first place.”
“Mom didn't die, dad!” Hope raised her voice at him.
Our father vamped in front of our sister pushing her into the wall. “She's not woken up! What do you call that, Hope? She is immortal and one of the most powerful creatures in the world but she hasn’t woken up yet!’
“Ug dad!” Hope winced under his harsh grip.
Shifting my gaze around the room I finally landed my focus on our mother. She was laying on the large king size bed in the center of the bedroom.  “Mom! What did you guys do to her?” I gasped vamping over to her bedside.
“We didn't make her take her magic back!” Hope snapped at my question.
Alina glared at her sister with golden werewolf eyes. “Shut up Hope!”
“They brought that Phoenix boy back from the prison world forgetting that it was filled with dark magic. But you’ve sister here refused to stop the spell when it started infecting them and the Saltzman twins. The magic is now inside of your mother including her own which she wasn't comfortable taking back yet.” Our father declared still holding Hope against the hardwood wall in the corner.
She attempted to get out of his grasp. “Like I said we didn't tell her to come rescue us!”
“Just be quiet, Hope.”
She tried to say something back but I stopped her. “Missy, I-”
“Silencio.” Snapping my fingers she shut her mouth and tried talking but the spell prevented her. “Dad, who do we call to help us?”
He released his grip on my older sister turning to face me. “I don't know, sweetheart.”
“Freya or Davina?” Alina questions.
Whipping my head around I raised my index finger to the open bedroom door. “Yeah no shit Sherlock. You know what how about you and Hope just leave!” I wasn’t normally angry about things but I was getting pissed with them.
“Missy, what have we done to you?” My twin asked me.
Shoving my fangs out of my mouth I snarled at my siblings. Over the top infuriated them for doing this to our mother and also for not telling me. “You didn't tell me what you were up to and like dad said you forced mom to put herself in danger. So just get out of here. I don't want to see you two right now!” Alina and Hope looked at one another before they left the room together.
Waving my hand the bedroom door slammed shut by my magic with my father lightly chuckling. “I must say I am impressed, Melissa. I knew you had anger in you somewhere.”
“Thanks I guess. I'm just upset they left me out and now she's in trouble and we don't know how to help her.”
Dad came over sitting across from me on the bed. “When you're sister was under a coma after fighting Josie she had difficulty facing the fact. It was a battle of the mind.”
“So what does that mean for mom?” I raised a brow at my father.
He lifted his gaze to meet mine, answering back. “It means I think we need to give your Uncle Elijah a call.”
Unknown to either of them MG and Ethan were sitting out in his truck in the Mystic High School parking lot just talking. Ethan pulled out an old radio scanner looking at the vampire. “I found one of my moms old police scanners. I thought we could use this instead of just waiting around not knowing where something bad will happen.”
“That’s cool, E. But you know we can just hang out.” MG shrugged his shoulders.
The human sat the scanner box in his lap. “And we are. But we should be ready for when you face off against the ultimate bad guy or girl.”
“You don’t have to worry about being ready, Ethan.”
Ethan sighed heavily. “Yeah that's what Missy says…which means to basically sit on the sidelines.”
“That isn't what I'm saying.” MG raised his hands out in front of him in surrender. “I just mean we can just hang out and be friends. Rather than spending all our time waiting for something serious to happen in Mystic Falls.”
Ethan shifts in the driver's seat of his truck. “Speaking of Missy could you help me with something regarding her?”
“Sure. What do you need help with, E?” The vampire perked up seeing the conversation take a different turn.
Sadly the hops disappeared from his face when the human responded to his offer. “I was hoping you could help me convince her to turn me into a vampire.” MG had nothing to say for he had lost any idea of what to say back in response. He only could sit and think that Missy wouldn't care for the confrontation later on.

39 - An Ordinary Vampire
Tumblr media
Part 40
Family is More than Blood
@secretdreamlandmentality
Raelyn’s pov
Moving through the airport I ran down the stairs seeing the familiar blonde I had been missing. Caroline flung her arms open embracing me with a long overdue hug. “I can’t believe you just jumped on a plane to see me. Not that I’m upset over it.”
“I just needed to see you…and I need your help with something.” I squeezed her back tightly before breaking the hug holding onto her forearms.
She gave me a look still smiling. “What can I do that the brilliant Heretic Raelyn Mikaelson can’t.”
“I need help just being a vampire for a little while.” I answered her.
Caroline made a confused expression. “Just a vampire. Wait, are you saying you gave up your powers. Why the hell would you do something like that?”
“It’s a long story but we finally defeated the Hollow. But yeah I gave up my powers until I felt comfortable with them again. It’s the same thing that Josette did. I don’t see why there’s a big problem when I do it.”
The mystic vampire slumps her shoulders sighing heavily in front of me. “I guess I understand. And I am honored to think you trust me to be your vampire coach.”
“I could go to Valerie but I was afraid she would try and convince me to return my magic back. I already have my husband breathing down my neck doing that exact thing.” I throw my hands up in the air.
She nodded brushing hair out of her face. “Sounds like you need a drink. Luckily I passed a pretty good bar that has the best margaritas in my opinion.”
We left the airport and I put my bag up in the hotel room she had purchased. Before we strolled the streets of England since she was still looking for any solution to the Merge but has had no luck in solving the problem. We sat down at two empty bar stools waiting for the bartender to come take our order. “I feel like I should apologize for not coming to you when I had the Gemini leader power in my veins.”
“You don’t have to apologize for that. You had to protect your children first and foremost. That is what any parent would do.” She responded to me with a sympathetic look in her eyes.
The bartender came over sliding us each a margarita. “Here you go. One strawberry and one mango.” She left as quickly as she came tending to the next person.
“Raelyn, don't feel guilty about not being able to help my kids. Alaric and I understand why.” Caroline raised the glass to her lips.
Sitting my glass down I huffed under my breath. Closing my eyes I sniffed the air being able to smell the fresh human blood all around us. The alcohol wasn't helping as much as it normally would. Clutching my hands into fists on the bar countertop I slowly put my feet on the floor seeing two young girls sitting in a booth near us just chatting away. “You know what I think I need a different drink right about now.”
“Woah Rae Rae.” She jumped down from her barstool grabbing me by my shoulders. “Just take a breath and calm down.”
I felt the veins beginning to appear under my eyes. “Caroline, I just need a quick taste of blood then I'll be fine.”
“Raelyn, I know you and you are not good at snatch, eat, erase. Let me go to the nearest hospital and get you some or I can get some blood from the bartender.” She held me back still away from the young girls.
I shoved my hands against her chest trying to siphon her to sleep. “Magia tollux de terras - urgh!”
“It's not so easy to get what you want without magic is it, Heretic Queen?” I glared at Caroline before I slowly turned around on my feet after she dropped her hands off of me seeing my husband leaning in the doorway of the bar.
Glaring at him I growled with the fangs appearing in my mouth. “What the hell are you doing here, Niklaus!”
“I felt you weren't acting like yourself so I figured I needed to keep an eye on you.” He responded crossing his arms over his chest.
Caroline sighed brushing her hair. “Klaus, your snooping on her. She just came seeking my help. It shouldn't be a big deal.”
“It is a big deal when she put her magic away without even asking how I felt about it.” Klaus raised his voice striding up to me.
I could hear whispering from some people the bartender specifically where Caroline touched my arm. “You two should take this outside. I'll pay for our drinks and catch up with you later.”
“Fine.” I stomped past my husband and he followed after me. We made our way into an empty alleyway that was behind the building. Leaning my body against the brick wall I still glared at him. “How did you find me?”
Klaus answers my question simply. “You used my credit card. It was that hard to make the airport tell me where you had flown off to.”
“Normally I find your snooping into my life romantic. Except for this moment in time.” I snapped at the hybrid.
Klaus scoffed. “I would think you would find my concern for your safety still romantic even though I know you can take care of yourself.”
“You know what I want you to know, Klaus.” I stomped up until we were almost chest to chest. “I want you to wrap it around your head that giving up my magic was my decision. Not yours, but mine. Stop thinking I am so unstable without it.”
He rolled his eyes. “I never said the word unstable to you.”
“What am I supposed to think when you're following me around telling me I made a mistake when you have no idea what it is like to have your own subconscious tell you to hurt the people you love. Even when I knew it was wrong I couldn't break it. I…I was weak and I let it get to me. I just felt so…”
“Broken.” Klaus and I finished my ranting sentence together.
Stepping away from him I felt some tears falling down my face. I knew that he had demons in his mind that he hated having to battle them. But what surprised me was that he seemed to be handing it better than I was. He reached up gently holding my shoulders making me look him in those blue eyes I adore. “How long have you felt this way, Rae?”
“Since the day you brought me back…I pushed through the loss of my family members. But this..this is so much more than those feelings. I don't know why I am feeling like this when I have you and our beautiful kids by my side. Yet I still can't shake it because I almost hurt all of you in a way I am not sure I can forgive myself for.” I croaked wiping away tears that had begun falling faster with every breath I took.
My hybrid husband stared down at me silently for a few minutes. “Time and time again you speak towards me as if you are falling apart and no one is there to catch you. When it is the exact opposite. You aren't meant to go through this alone, Raelyn.” He was still in awe from the first day he met her how she could be so beautiful and fierce even when she stood in front of him emotionally breaking down.
“I know you’re here for me. I appreciate it, I do. I just can't feel the magic running through my veins until I trust myself to not accidentally hurt any of you again.” Rubbing my hands down my arms he didn't waste time drawing me forward to his chest hugging me.
Clutching the fabric of his jacket I began sobbing into his shirt. He wrapped his arms tightly around me. “Sssh love. I am here. I'll be here whenever you're ready.” He whispered in my hair until his phone was ringing in his pocket.
He hit the answer button on his phone hearing Missy’s voice come over. “Mom, dad. You have to come home now.”
“Sweetheart, what has happened?” I asked her to take the phone from his hands.
Missy sounded nervous from the tone in her voice. “Charming and Rapunzel have more power than we thought. And something has happened to Josie.”
“What happened to her, Missy?” Klaus questions our third daughter.
She replied back. “The dark magic that she got from Kai has taken over her. She needs our help, all of us.”
“Raelyn, Klaus, what is going on?” Caroline came around the corner seeing us standing there.
Looking in her direction I ended the phone call with our daughter. “We have to go back to the school. All of us,your girls are in danger.”

Family is More than Blood

Jacob’s pov
I couldn’t believe my sister right now. She would never understand with her and her hybrid husband being able to keep making babies. I decided to take matters into my own hands and figure out the spell that Klaus's dead mother used that gave her the ability. Stomping through the woods I removed the duffel bag off my shoulder and sat it down on the hard dirt. “This should be a good enough spot.”
“Care to tell us what we are doing out here, J?” Hayley asked me, arms over her chest.
Andrea, my daughter , tilted her head in confusion. “Yeah dad. You said you needed help but with what I don't get.”
“I need you to siphon the magic out of this.” Rummaging around in the duffel bag at my feet I drew out the Ascendent that I had taken from Josie and Lizzie when they had brought it back to the school.
My wife Hayley eyed me. “Why does she have to do it? You’re half siphon witch too. So I suggest you start telling us what is really going on.”
“I have to do another spell once you have the magic inside of you and the spell requires the family blood.” I lied the best that I could knowing that dark magic hadn’t been good in the hands of Josie or my twin but she refuses to help me.
Andrea takes the Ascendent from my hands, closing her eyes beginning to chant the siphoning spell. “Magia tollux de terras…Magia tollux de terras.” Her hands on the object turned red until she dropped it on the grass and I saw black veins crawling over her arms.
Hayley gasped, stepping forward to touch her. “Jacob, what the hell are you doing to her!”
“Be quiet, Hayley! Okay give it to me, sweetheart.” Grasping my daughter’s hands in my own I drag a knife across her right palm, letting the blood drip onto our intertwined hands. She winced when our hands turned red and I started siphoning the dark magic from her. “In unum edito, dominus sae domina. Cuplas sino lieros. In unum edito, dominus - shit Klaus!”
“What the bloody hell do you think you're doing, Jacob!” The hybrid growled in my face, the fangs and veins appearing very quickly.
Hayley stepped forward asking. “Yeah what are you doing, J?”
“Urgh it's none of your business Niklaus - motus.” I grunted siphoning off of his forearm lunching him into the nearest tree.
He shakes his head with some wounds healing over. “It is my business when you are part of the reason my wife was terrified to take her magic back.”
“What's wrong with Aunt Rae?” Andrea asked her uncle with a lot of concern in her tone of voice.
Klaus rose up from the ground dusting his hands on his pants. “He hasn't told you because he doesn't even know himself. She's in a coma because of my idiot daughters who tried consuming the Dark magic inside of that.” He pointed at the Ascendent laying in the dirt.
“Dark magic!” Andrea cried out looking at her hands that once had the power inside of them.
Hayley glared at me. “Jacob Lane, how could you trick your daughter like that. And all for what?”
“So that we could have more children like we talked about years ago. Andrea doesn't deserve to be an only child!” I shouted back at the three of them with some of the trees around us suddenly bursting into flames.
Hayley stepped over to our daughter holding her against her chest noticing something on my arms. “J, if giving me more babies means you'll have to die for real this time then I don't want any.”
“Hayley I'll be fine.”
Klaus scoffed under his breath. “No you won't, mate. Look at your arm because I remember quite clearly that magic nearly killed your sister.”
“You’re just trying to talk me out of what I want. There’s no…marks.” I raised up my arm gasping under my breath seeing small thin black lines crawling up my arms.
My brother in law snarled. “I’m not bluffing anything, mate. Now either you are going to help me save my wife, your sister or you will face some very painful consequences!”
“Uncle Klaus, don’t hurt him.” Andrea begged me with some watery eyes.
Spinning around on my feet I snapped at my niece even though I didn’t wish too but her father needed to understand how selfish he was being to let his sister suffer. “I’m sorry, Andrea. Bu he refuses to accept the weight that his sister is suffering in agonizing torment and now he is only thinking about himself.”
“Shut the hell up, Klaus!” I yelled towards the hybrid, turning my hands into fists at my sides.
The hybrid vamped forward grabbing me by my throat and slamming me into the nearest tree that I hadn’t sent up in heavy flames. “Klaus don’t!” Hayley warned him with her eyes glowing golden but she remained by our daughter's side.
“Don’t worry, little wolf. He will heal you know.” Klaus held his gaze on mine intensely.
Andrea croaked out. “Uncle Klaus, don’t hurt him. I’ll help you save Aunt Rae.”
“Oh this is now about more than needing his help, dear.” His eyes turned dark gold following the dark veins and fangs of his vampire side coming through. “The reason for this chokehold is on the fact that I don’t understand why your father’s desire for having more children is overshadoweding his desire to help his sister.”
“I’m angry with her - that’s enough of a reason.” I winced when his fingers closed tighter around my throat.
Klaus pressed his nose against mine getting in my face. “Your sister was so broken up years ago when she was tricked to kill you. She would have gone through hell on Earth to protect you but you don’t seem to be the same. From where I am standing I don’t see how you two are related. You may share the same blood yet that seems to be the only thing you have in common.”
“Klaus, I get you upset. So just put him down and we can find a way to help you.” Hayley touched his shoulder before he moved his hands tightly around my neck more and snapped it where I grunted falling to the dirt at his feet.
Andrea gasped, covering her mouth with her hands. “Was that necessary?”
“He needed to be taught a lesson and don’t worry he’ll come back you know that, Little Lane.” Klaus dropped his hands to his side eyeing the knocked out vampire. His phone vibrated in his pocket till he put it up to his ear. “Melissa, have you found anything?”
“Lizzie thinks she can help us.” The young heretic answered his question.
He responded by vamping away from the two other supernaturals. “Brilliant. I’ll be there shortly. This could have gone less violent if he just helped me.”
“Sometimes I really don’t like the Mikaelson family.” Hayley hugged her daughter to her chest while they waited for Jacob to wake up.
Missy’s pov
Remaining in a sitting position at my mothers bedside I felt a huge weight on my shoulders from not being there to stop my sisters from putting her in this situation. They had no right on not telling me in what they were doing especially if they knew about mom’s situation. Footsteps were heard coming up the stairs and the door creaked open. “Dad, Lizzie isn’t here yet. So we’ll just have to wait a second - Ethan what are you doing here?”
“I know you said that you don’t want me around sometimes because you’re worried about me getting hurt. But I uh…brought some French fries and a chocolate milkshake from the Grill.” He nervously stands in the doorway revealing a paper bag and a shake cup from behind his back.
Flipping my hair out of my line of sight I sighed. “E, I really don’t think - I can’t believe you remembered one of my favorite things from there.”
“Of course I remember. You are my girlfriend after all.” He walked over handing me the shake and then the bag before he sat down beside me on the bed.
Shoving my hand in the bag of fries I ate one talking with my mouth full. “Thank you for this. I actually haven’t eaten much all day given what’s happened with her.”
“Do you wanna tell me what is happening with her or not?” Ethan asked me, trailing his voice off.
Swallowing some more fries I shifted my gaze to my unconscious mother. Her hair was slightly tousled and you could see the black veins crawling up her body. “My sisters made her take her magic back when she wasn't ready for it. Now she's under some coma or something. And we're not sure if we can wake her up.”
“That's scary. But you’ve a Mikaelson. From what I've seem you guys don't go down without a fight.” My boyfriend responded before I sat my drink down and hugged him without saying a word.
He wrapped his arms around my waist and embraced me back with the same comfort level. “Thank you, E.”
Footsteps came into the room and so we separated from one another seeing Lizzie. “So I think we should be able to just siphon it out of here.” She sat down a Grimor on the edge of the bed.
“Siphon it into what would be helpful to know, Elizabeth.” My father vamped into the bedroom standing by her side seconds later.
She flipped her hair over her shoulder. “I don't know. I assume we could put it inside the Prison World that it was previously in.”
“Uhhh! My head hurts…” Everyone in the room quickly turns their heads in the direction of the new voice. My mother slowly pushed herself up in a sitting position holding the side of her neck.
I gasped with Ethan reached out to her. “Ms. Mikaelson. are you okay?”
“Ah! I will be once I…kill you.” My mother slowly revealed her fangs from her mouth. The veins under her eyes appeared as she launched herself straight for my boyfriend.
I screamed out. “Ethan!”
“Expello.” Lizzie gripped my father’s forearm siphoning from him, managing to create a quick boundary spell that my mom hit her forehead straight into.
I dragged Ethan off the bed and he sucked in a breath seeing my mother standing there up against the barrier. She pressed her hands against it, baring her teeth. “I didn’t think she’d ever do that. Is something wrong with her?”
“She definitely would never hurt you unless you deserved it.” I bent down on my knees seeing no injuries on him. Ethan grasped my hand in his slowly getting his breathing under control.
Lizzie pointed her index finger, gaining our attention. “Were her eyes like that the last time she consumed Dark Magic?”
“Get out of here right now. I’ll handle her and don’t do anything reckless or stupid until I tell you otherwise!” My father turned his hands into fists at his sides, instructing the three of us to leave quickly and we all scrambled out the doorway with me shutting the bedroom door behind me.
Raelyn's eyes turned black as night, slamming her hands against the barrier. “You can’t beat me, hybrid!”
“I’m not trying to beat you whoever you are that has passed the love of my life.” Klaus slowly stepped forward until he reached the barrier as close as he possibly could. “But I am going to get my wife back.”
Dark Raelyn tilted her head to the side with a cheeky smirk playing on her lips. “Are you sure you don’t love me instead of the other Raelyn?”
“What do you mean by that, witch?” He snarled at her.
The heretic held her smirk when she spoke her next words leaving the hybrid in front of her speechless. “What I mean is you only think that you want goodness in your life. But the truth is deep down inside I can feel that you’re drawn to her darkness just as much as she is to yours. What do you say to that, hybrid?” Klaus just blinked his eyes wishing he could be staring back at his wife’s beautiful eyes rather than the mistress of darkness.

29 - Not Klaus’s Plan

Klaus’s pov
Standing outside Raelyn’s bedroom I was quiet enough so that she couldn’t hear me. She was currently peacefully sleeping in her bed and I had decided to stay in the other room of the mansion. Clasping my hand together behind my back I turned my head confused seeing my wife stirring in her sleep. “What’s troubling her this time?”
I was aware she had nightmares after Jaocb died because of her family’s poor communication. But she should have nothing to fear now that he was alive as a heretic like she is. “Raelyn…” I whispered vamping over to her bedside about to touch her shoulder.
“Urgh!” She winced but I drew my hand back before I even had the chance to touch her. Shifting my gaze it took me a second before I saw her shoulder turn red and there was a hand touching her back clearly siphoning her.
Clicking my tongue I snagged the wrist that was siphoning her and the person winced when I growled quietly under my breath. “Show yourself witch!”
“Uncle Klaus, stop it.” I recognized the voice of Elizabeth Saltzman who revealed herself visibly to me quickly.
Another voice also came to the surface showing me Josie. “We were trying to bring her memories back.”
“I didn’t tell you to do anything of the sort!” I accidentally raised my tone of voice hearing my wife tossing in her sleep so I focused my attention back to the siphon twins. “Whose idea was this exactly?”
Lizzie rolled her eyes slightly. “I don’t know why Hope thought this was gonna work.”
“Gather whoever else came up with this ridiculous plan and meet me down at the old Lockwood cellar immediately.” I declared to the girls before they left the room. Running my fingers through my curls I sighed heavily in frustration not wanting them to do any spells on her. The only thing they should be focusing on is getting the Hollow’s magic out of Alyssa so then I could handle her accordingly on my own terms. It took them a lot longer than I cared for but half of them are mortals and don’t have super speed like most of us. Shoving my hands inside my black jacket I heard multiple heartbeats entering the abandoned cellar. “You’re late. I thought I made it clear that this meeting was urgent.”
“Sorry if one of us is pregnant and also we didn’t want to wake Rapunzel and Charming in the middle of the night.” Alina crossed her arms over her chest wearing one of Jackson’s shirts and some baggy pants.
Missy rubbed the sleep from her eyes. “Why the late night emergency meeting dad. Is it another Malivore monster?”
“Stop playing dumb, girls. I found the Saltzman’s in your mother’s room. So tell me what you think is okay to bring back your mother’s memories back without asking me.” Throwing my hands away from my sides I flashed my werewolf eyes at Lizzie and Josie who were standing in the corner.
Hope remained by the cellar exit leaning against the wall. “Yeah it was my idea dad but can you blame me after knowing how mom changed you. We’ve all read Dr. Saltzman’s journals on you before she came into your life.”
“That doesn’t give you the right to not ask my permission first.” I snapped back at her.
Lizzie scoffed towards her uncle. “We’re not kids anymore. We’ve done a lot of stuff without my fathers permission.”
“Lizzie.” Josie whispered under her breath.
Glaring at the twins I growled not liking how this conversation was going at this point. Straightening my back I moved my gaze between my daughters and my supposed nieces. “You may be or almost be adults but it doesn’t mean that you get to do whatever you wish. We are all working together to make your mother fall in love with me…again.”
Missy eyed at me silently for a second slowly walking forward until we were standing almost chest to chest. “Dad, don’t yell at me but you’re afraid that she might not fall in love with you again aren’t you?”
“That’s completely ridiculous, Melissa.” Rolling my eyes I was in disbelief.
The heretic teenager spoke up again. “No it has to be true, dad. Why else would you say we can help but when we try, you get all bent out of shape.”
“Because it's a risk if she never loves me again.” I spat at the group.
Alina shakes her head at me. “So we're just supposed to cross our fingers and pray that you can charm her all over again for the fun of it. All along when we know that Josie can do a memory spell and she can return to her old self with no problems.”
“We have no clue if that spell is strong enough to undo what the Hollow’s magic did.” Dropping my hands at my sides I sighed heavily leaning against the cold wall. “I don’t want to say goodbye to her…she's the only woman I have ever loved.”
Lizzie put her hands on her hips. “That’s sweet. But we should do something to bring her back.”
“She's right, Uncle Klaus. But I understand if you want her to at least trust you before we do a memory spell on her.” Josie points out softly.
Hope shifted her gaze upward to me crossing her arms over her chest not saying anything for a few minutes. “I don’t think this is necessary to my previous plan but you're the one who knows our mother best so I guess we have no choice but to go with your plan dad.”
“Good that's settled then. I'll make your mother fall in love with me on my own terms.” Clasping my hands together I vamped off and the kids all headed back to the school until the sun would rise in a few hours. But unknown to the group Josie’s spell had started making an effort on Raelyn Lane-Mikaelson.
Raelyn’s pov
Walking through the streets of Mystic Falls I was wearing a long tan coat, a red sweater, some blue jeans and brown boots. Tying my hair up in a ponytail just taking a morning stroll by myself. I didn’t sleep very well last night feeling something poking around in my head and so I couldn't sleep which made me decide to get up and take a walk. I was about to enter the grill until pain shot through my head where I stumbled against the brick wall leaning against it seeing some odd images flashing through my mind.
Pushing the door open with my foot I shake my head giggling at him sitting at the bar. “What makes you think of coming here of all places, Niklaus?”
Klaus sat down on a barstool holding up a glass of bourbon and he tilted his head down at the drink for me. “This particular place is special to you and I. This is the first place we ever met one another.”
“I remember every detail. I launched you into that wall with my magic.” I climbed up on my barstool picking up my drink taking a long sip still smiling longingly at him
Nik tilted his head to the side smirking. “And it hurt very much, love. All for asking you for your name.”
“Now we are married and have four kids. We’re certainly a long way from the big bad wolf.” Raising my glass I clonked it with his when he responded back to me grinning
“And his siphon Gemini runaway. I love you, Raelyn. Always have and always will..” He leans forward pressing his lips against mine softly sitting his glass down he cupped my face in his hands deepening the kiss.
Wrapping my arms around his neck I kissed him back smiling into the kiss. I savor the feeling remembering the night we met so clearly and I was proud to see where I was now. “I love you too, Klaus. Always have and always will.”
Sliding down the brick wall beside me I groaned, feeling a rather bad headache shooting through my forehead. “What the hell is happening to me?” I mumbled to myself gripping the ends of my hair in between my fingers.
“Raelyn.” Someone called my name but I clutched my eyes shut seeing another memory that must be fake because I don’t know the hybrid that everyone thinks I supposedly do.
I giggled moving it out of my view seeing that he was hovering above me now and we were still close like we were before. Raising my hands over my head I laid them on the pillow frozen looking at him like this. “Klaus!….”
“Don’t test the wolf in me, Ms, Lane. You won’t be able to beat me.” His blue eyes were brighter than I had ever seen up until this moment. He had a kind smile on his lips that made it almost impossible to not grin as big as he was
I smirked a small grin testing this playful side in him that I had yet to see come to the surface so I was going to enjoy it for as long as possible. When he was happy it made all my fears disappear and made me forget that I was on the run from my entire family of witches. “And what would you do to me hmm?”
“Now you're insisting on a challenge, love.” He leaned his head down to mine where my heart quickened thinking he was going to kiss me until I felt his hand move to my sides beginning to tickle me on my hip and I couldn’t run away since he had me pinned between the bed and him
I pushed my hands against his chest trying to squirm out of his grasp but I wasn’t trying as hard when I heard a beautiful laugh come from his lips. “Klaus…no…stop. I can’t handle….being tickled. Nik….Niklaus!”
“Do you cave yet?” He asked, making our eyes finally lock onto one another.
Pushing my hands against his chest I gently shoved him off scooting upright onto the pillows behind me. “Yes I cave. I’m going to get my revenge one day.”
“Oh I’ll be pleased to see you try, Rae.” He flopped down on his side of the bed placing his hands behind his head smiling
Feeling a hand touch my shoulder I flinched using my speed and grabbing their wrist shoving whoever it was against the wall. The person grunted, croaking out my name once more to gain my attention. “Ra…Raelyn, it’s me.”
“Why are you here, Cami? I thought your permanent resistance was New Orleans.” I snapped at the blonde bartender in front of me holding her by her throat and if she was still human she would be gasping for air.
She gasped but held onto the wrist of the hand that was around her throat. “Your kids called me asking for my help.”
“I don’t need you to be my therapist.” I flashed my fangs at her. “I’m not troubled with demons or anything.”
“But your mind is fighting against what you should be feeling for your husband. You know that you should feel something for him. I can see it in your eyes.” She explained it to me.
Rolling my eyes at one of my sired vampires. “You may have that fancy degree but you don’t know what I’m feeling. You don’t know what it’s like to see memories of someone you don’t recognize. You don’t know how frustrating it is when everyone keeps telling you that you are this person's other half. All the while not being able to believe the things they say because of a damn spell from a witch that we killed years ago that somehow came back and wanted to make me suffer. But please Camille go on and tell me how I feel because you can see inside my mind!”
“Raelyn, I….I’m sorry. I know your kids have good intentions but I won’t make you suffer anymore today.” The bartender responded when I released my nails from her throat and she collapsed onto her knees quickly getting to her feet in front of me.
Crossing my arms over my chest I nodded to her in respect, turning on my heels and starting to walk away from the women. “Thank you for understanding. I’ll be sure to visit more often and thanks for not making me use the sire bond on you. I’ll see you around New Orleans.”
“I’m sorry about this, Raelyn.” I heard her mumbling under her breath with my heightened hearing but wasn’t fast enough before she vamped behind me. She held tightly onto my hair and stuck some needle into my neck where my eyes got heavy and she lowered our bodies to the sidewalk.
Gripping her forearms I was struggling to stay awake with the amount of vervain in my system. “You helped him trick me!”
Yet before she could say anything more her hair went flying around and her neck was snapped right in front of me. Blinking my eyes I could barely keep myself awake and my mind was running slow but I could tell who had ever killed her shortly. Klaus’s blue eyes were trained on me with him offering his hand that I reluctantly put mine in. He tugged me upwards seeing my body go limp from the vervain finally leaving me in his embrace. “Before you think I had anything to do with this I’ll say I had no idea. Just know all I ask is that you trust me.” My right hand wrapped around the dog tag necklace he wore and he knew that was a small sign of trust before he picked my unconscious body up bridal style vamping us back to the old Mikaelson mansion.

Missy’s pov
A few days later it was finally Friday afternoon when I was waiting outside Mystic falls high school. My sister Alina was there with me. Swinging my legs back and forth sitting on one of the picnic tables I sighed where she finally broke the silence between us. “So why exactly are we outside the human high school waiting for somebody?”
“I’m waiting for Ethan. You can leave if you don’t want to be here.” I told her flipping my hair over my shoulders when I looked her way.
She sends me a half glare, gesturing to her growing belly. “Hey don’t be angry with me. I am very moody right now after this..”
According to our aunt Freya she was getting close to being five months pregnant. She was having to wear some of Jackson’s hoodies since she couldn’t fit into some of her clothes. Thankfully we could compel people not to judge that she was an eighteen year old pregnant girl. “Okay I’m sorry, Lina. I just wanted to feel normal for once given what we’ve been through the past few days.”
“Do you think mom is going to be okay now that her memories are back. I’ve never seen dad worry about the veins on her arms.” She pointed out to me tapping her fingers on her knees.
Shaking my head I wasn’t sure. “Mom’s been through hell and back. If anything she will be able to get through this. They are both tough as nails.”
“I suppose you’re right. We have to get our brave streak from somewhere. Now if you are wanting to do a party I’ll call Lizzie and see if she’s got any ideas.” Alina pulled up her phone texting the blonde Saltzman witch.
Shifting my attention away from her and her texting I saw the main school door get swung open and everyone started rushing outside happy the school day was over now. Scanning the crowd of people I shut my eyes trying to pinpoint his specific heartbeat. “Missy! Hey Alina, what are you guys doing here up here?” Ethan finally noticed us and he ran over smiling at us.
“We didn’t have class today and I couldn’t wait to see you.” I grinned sliding off the picnic table standing in front of him.
He nodded in understanding. “Nice. Who are you texting so much over there, Alina?”
“Our cousin Lizzie. It’s Friday night and we deserve to party tonight.” She responded by throwing her hands up in the air feeling embarrassed when he just stared at her. “I probably look ridiculous right. Pregnant girl wants to get her party on.”
My boyfriend shook his head in disagreement “it’s not lame at all. After getting cut from the football this morning I could use a good distraction.”
“You got cut this morning. I’m sorry I didn’t think that would happen.” I apologize to him remembering the day that he got injured because of Josie.
Alina’s phone vibrates when she reads the text out loud. “Ohhh yes! She said that we could have the party out at the old Lockwood mansion that was given to Mayor Donavan. That way there’s no way our parents or Uncle Ric can ruin our fun.”
“Cool. I’ll call some of my football buddies and see if they want to come hang.” Ethan points his thumb over his shoulder clearly excited.
Clasping my hands together I grinned at my boyfriend where I threw my arms around his neck. He wrapped his arms around my waist mirroring the smile. “That sounds fun, E. I’ll text you the address later tonight.”
“I’ll see ya later M & M.” He walked away leaving us alone to watch him go find his other human friends. Wrapping my arms around my chest I smiled knowing that I had made the right decision to have him remember my secret.
My sister broke me from my trance. “I’m glad to see I was right about you two the day we met him. He’s a good little dork for you.”
“He’s not a dork, Lina.” I snapped at her.
She smirked. “Yes he is. He freaking reads comic books and gives you your own unique nickname. What else am I supposed to call that?”
“You still married the only guy you’ve ever known.” I taunted her with a hand on my hip.
My twin sticks her tongue out. “How long are you going to use that against me?”
“Let’s see I am a vampire now so…forever.” I tapped my finger on my chin in thought smirking when I finished my sentence.
She gently shoved me away. “You suck you know that. Just be lucky that I love you. Now we have a party to plan.” Extending my hand out to her she loops her hand with mine where I vamped us back to the mansion going to get the rest of our friends ready for tonight.
Raelyn’s pov
Sitting at the office desk in one of the mansions studies I sighed heavily running a hand over my forehead feeling completely exhausted. Even though vampires don’t need sleep I still felt tired after the past few days. Flipping through some pages of the book I was reading I heard someone come stand in the doorway. “Raelyn, you’ve been in here for who knows how long. Would you please inform me what you are so preoccupied with?”
“Not at the moment, Nik.” I didn’t lift my gaze up from the book slamming it closed shut with a snap of my fingers. “Grrrr. It shouldn’t be possible. I fixed the problem ages ago. I know it.”
My husband crossed the room leaning his palms on the wooden desk. “Raelyn, what are you rambling on about?”
“I saw my uncle Joshua and he warned me. He warned me that Rapunzel and Charming may have to merge like Jacob and I.” I answered his question by dropping another book on the desk that dealt with the blood relation of the Gemini family tree.
Klaus sat down on the edge of the desk, taking out his phone trying to gain my attention. “Hmm that’s odd. Alina just made a large charge on my credit card.”
“Yeah I heard her tell Hope about having a party at the old Lockwood house later tonight.” I replied, racking a hand through my loose hair.
Klaus sent me a half glare. “You’re telling me you knew about this and you did nothing to stop them. That doesn’t sound like you.”
“They're grown adults. I am currently trying to save our young twins even though I am certain that the blood spill I used years ago was supposed to protect any set of twins from our blood from merging. The only ones not spared were Lizzie and Josie.” Hitting my fists on the desk my sleeves had fallen down giving my husband the opportunity to see that the black veins were still there meaning I hadn't placed the Hollow's magic back into the white oak.
Klaus reached across the table snagging my wrist in his grasp. “Rae, look at me for a second.”
“Hmmm.” I made a noise lifting my gaze up to his blue orbs.
He replied to me. “I say we go out tonight. You and I. Crash our teenagers party. Take some alcohol and maybe sample some fresh blood.”
“They're kids. We can’t crash a party.” I told him, shaking my head. “Besides, we have to watch Henrik, Charming and Rapunzel.”
My husband snapped his fingers. “I already took care of that problem. Anticipating our children I asked Damon and Elena to watch them. Given that your brother and Hayley are out on a date tonight.”
“How the hell did you pull that off? Can they be compelled cause I swear they'd take vervain “ Leaning back in the desk chair I tapped my fingers on the old wood.
Klaus stands in front of me offering his hand to pull me up and out of the chair. “I agreed to pay for their kid’s school bills. But that shouldn’t be for a few years since they are only in elementary school. Now come on Raelyn.”
I changed into some ripped blue jeans, a bright red sleeved top with my hair slightly curled. I paired it with some short black boots. Klaus chose to wear his old gray and black jacket that he wore before we made our home in New Orleans. We walked in hand and hand seeing the mansion filled with teenagers dancing and bumping around drinking. “Remind me again why we came here?”
“Because we deserve a night out on the town. And because I have been morning in pain not having you at my side for days. So I’d like to take the win and spend the night with the woman I love.” Klaus turned to face me cradling my face in his freehand and squeezing our intertwined hands together.
Clicking my tongue I smiled up into his blue orbs. “Aren’t you a romantic, Mr. Hybrid. I only have one warning for you.”
“And what is that, heretic queen?” He asked, leaning down when I raised myself up on my toes.
Hitting my nose with his I giggling pulling my hand out of his. “Be prepared to accept defeat at beer pong.” I vanished into the crowd and the hybrid just chuckled as she left him standing there. For he had missed her very prescience that consumed his very being. And now he wouldn’t miss another moment.
I wasn’t sure how long we had been playing the game. But the kids we were playing with were close to passing out drunk. Raising a glass of wine to my mouth I downed almost half of it. “Alright Nikky, it’s your turn. But there’s only two cups on our side to your.. .five.”
“Don’t think you’ve won just yet.” He warned me by throwing the ball without bouncing it on the table so it landed right in the center cup.
Glaring at him I raised the cup drinking all the bourbon that we had poured into it. Lowering the cup I gagged at the same opportunity to hear cheering coming from the wine cellar in the basement. Pinpointing out our daughter's voices. “I can’t believe our parents are here.”
“Dad, probably saw the credit card charge.” Alina reported scolding her older sister. “Or somebody’s boyfriend blabbed to him.”
Landon nervously chuckles. “Hey has anybody ever done Never have I Ever and Truth or Dare?”
“That sounds like fun.” Ethan chimed in where I finally stopped listening in on their conversation.
Nik came over to me after the teenagers playing with us had left. He held the cup of bourbon in his hand and I sat down my cup feeling his freehand on my lower back. “We will mess with their fun in a few hours. I think we need far more drinks than what we have had.” He took my hand and we went in the direction of the kitchen.
Missy’s pov
We had decided to break away from the others at our school that we had invited to this party. That meant that it was me, Ethan, Alina, Jackson, Landon, Hope and finally Andrea all hanging out in the basement. It became our own little clubhouse area. “Never have I ever pulled an all-nighter.”
“Oh geez.” Ethan covered his face with his freehand while taking a drink from his red solo cup.
I turned my head at him. “When did that happen?”
“It was like an initiation into being on the football team. Conor wanted to find out who the weak team members were.” He explained simply,
Landon sat up holding out his cup to the center circle. “Never have I ever drank alcohol before I was 21.”
“Seriously Landon, that's everyone in this room.” Alina scolded him after taking a drink along with everybody else playing the game.
Jackson, who had his arm draped over Alina’s shoulder, raised his glass. “Never have I gone skinny-dipping?” My sister Alina slowly takes a sip from her cup causing me and Hope to gasp in shock.
“When did that happen and why didn’t we know about this before tonight?” Hope gasped.
She shrugged her shoulders, laying her head against her werewolf husband’s chest. “Possibly on our second date before he officially met mom and dad. And you can’t say anything but we got a little excited that night and I’m surprised he didn’t get me pregnant that night.”
“You took her virginity before you were married!” Andra nearly choked on her words.
Ethan made a look of confusion eyeing my twin and Jackson who sat across from us. It was a lot to just explain all the supernatural creatures that lived in this town. I hadn’t had time to explain the whole Mikaelson / Lane family details that he didn’t know about yet. “Wait a minute. Are you two married because you love each other or are you together because you got her pregnant?”
“Because we love each other, man.” Jackson answered the question.
The human boy in our group didn’t seem convinced. “I’m just asking because I don’t get why two teenagers are married but only one of you has had other relationships before you were married.”
“Ethan, you want to talk about odd relationships. We should talk about who is the weirdest supernatural creature in the room. I vote for Landon.” Andrea got up to her feet pointing her index finger at the curly haired boy,
Hope glared at her. “Why do you say that, Andrea? You know what, let's get back to the game. I dare you to chug hot sauce for 30 seconds.”
“No, I think it would be cool to hear that all supernatural creatures are here with me.” Ethan shrugs his shoulders, actually curious.
I raised my hand starting off the list. “I’m the only heretic besides my mother. Half witch half vampire..oh wait there’s aunt Valerie too.”
“Team were witches.” Alina raised her hand so Andrea and her high fived each other including Jackson.
Landon held up his hand. “Only phoenix.”
“Tribrid. Hybrid of three different creatures beat that!” Hope teased them by downing almost all the alcohol in her cup.
Running a hand through my hair I did my best to change the game back to what it was before we switched the subject. “Howl like a wolf to the moon, Ethan.” I eyed my boyfriend who got to his feet about to do what I suggested to him until Jackson spoke up.
“Hold on, Missy. I don’t think we’ve asked the very obvious question yet. Who here is still a virgin in all of our relationships?”
“Oh Jack.” Alina scolded him.
He chuckled, not backing down. “I dare them all to answer it since we know we both aren’t.”
“I’ll put it out there man as long as you don’t tell the guys on the Mystic High football team.” Ethan was the first to admit it, sending me a half smile as if he was worried I would out him.
Taking a long sip of my drink I wasn’t comfortable giving that out even though everyone in this room was either family or close friends. “I still am one. Sorry I didn’t tell you that yet, E.” I apologized before he placed his hand in mine.
“Fine. I ain’t slept with anyone either.” Hope blurts it out, getting to her face and heading towards the stairs to leave. “I’m getting us more alcohol.”
Landon nervously chuckles against the somewhat tense silence in the room that had been created. He leans back in the chair he was sitting in shifting his attention around. “Is anybody still open to Truth or Dare?”
“I think we should try and trick our parents. Specifically our father.” I smirked, getting a good idea in the back of my mind.
Ethan and Landon sent me a horrified look. “Are you sure that’s a good idea?”
“Yeah, he's totally cool with it.” Alina responded, acting so much like our father than the rest of his kids did in the room.
Andrea throws her hands up in the air. “I’ve got an idea but we need to buy a Santa Claus hat and beard.”
“Ah I see where she’s going. Plus we’ll need to put it on him when he’s asleep.” Jackson leaned forward in his seat, interested in the plan.
Landon froze up and I could hear his heartbeat quickening up. “Wait a second, who exactly is putting the Santa hat on him while he sleeps?”
“Obviously you and Ethan.” Andrea sniped at him.
Ethan rubbed the back of his neck but he calmed down when I placed my hand in his other. “Why exactly is it just the two of us? Why not include Jackson too?”
“It’s a right of passage in this family. Jackson already faced him when he asked for Alina’s hand in marriage and he didn’t get killed over it.” I clasped my hands together turning around in a circle so both of the newbie boyfriends would understand what they were up against. “Our mother is totally okay with us dating any boy. It’s our father you have to worry about.”
“What have you got them into now?” Hope shut the door with her food coming back down the stairs carrying an unopened bottle of liquor.
Andrea finished the contents of her cup. “Simple the “Can They Survive Klaus Mikaelson Test”. If they come out of it alive then they have proven they are worthy to end up with a Mikaelson daughter.”
“Most importantly somebody better get it on recording.” I added laughing along with my sisters and cousin. The face reactions from my boyfriend and Landon were priceless.

27 - Some Familiar Faces

Family is More than Blood

Raelyn’s pov
Hugging my knees to my chest Alyssa had left the room without another word. Leaving me to sit by myself in the room hearing all the animals and the wind blowing outside the bedroom. The bedroom door opened and I saw a guy with dirty blonde hair and bright blue eyes coming in. “Rae, I got the twins settled in for the night.”
“Who the hell are you?” I scooted back on the mattress as far as I possibly could not recognize the guy in the room.
The guy raised a brow at me. “Rae, it’s me Nik.”
“I don’t know you. Is Nik a nickname or something?” Shaking my head I prayed that he wasn’t going to kill me or something since I didn’t know him.
He moved forward a few steps confusion written on his face. “Raelyn, love. You know me. It's me Klaus Mikaelson, you're husband. Father of your children.” He sits down by my feet about to touch my knee until I jumped.
“Motus!” I screamed throwing a hand up and launching him across the room and into the bookshelf.
The guy grunted and I saw his eye turn gold briefly when he got up to stand. “Raelyn, what happened to you? You know who I am. I know that you know who I am.”
“No I don’t!” I raised my voice at him.
His eyes widened in shock. “ Rae, what kind of game are you trying to play?” He demanded. “ Whatever, it is I am not in the mood.”
I shook my head. “ This isn’t a game!” I exclaimed, glaring at the man. “ I don’t know who you are, but you better get out of my way now before I boil you alive.”
“Raelyn, please… I “ The Hybrid was about to say, until I cut him off.
I gazed at him deeply. “I’m not this Raelyn person you seek out, whoever she is because I’m not her.” I hissed.
“You may not remember who I am but you are still the same person I fell in love with. I know everything about you.”
I scoffed at his words. “ As if I would ever settle down with someone like you.”
He shook his head. “ You married me. You choose to be with me.”
“ You’re not even my type.” I chuckled.
He crossed the room until we were almost standing chest to chest. “ Hmm, really.” He asked, wrapping his arm around my waist pulling me to his chest. Then before I could fight him he crashed his lips down onto making me gasp sharply. As if another person was in me, I wrapped my arms around his neck.
I slowly kissed him back against my better judgment for a few minutes. Slightly enjoying the feeling of us together like this. Until I finally came to my senses and shoved him backwards. “ What are you doing to me?”
He smirked. “ I’m not doing anything, my love.” He said. “ This is what your body craves for… me.”
“Don’t try and confuse me with your words and make me think that my hormones are desiring you!”
“ Yet, you kissed me.” He said. “ If you didn't want this then why did you kiss me.”
I rolled my eyes. “  I haven’t been with anyone in a while and I probably am just feeling horny.”
“ Well, if you like I could help you out with your little situation.” He offered, with a sincere tone.
“I would never sleep with a guy I don’t know.”
“ Oh, so you would kiss a guy you don’t know.” He chuckled.
“What….I….that’s not what I was saying.”
He stared at me deeply. “ What are you trying to say, darling?” He asked. “ If you want me just say it.”
“Just stop talking.” I vamped towards the door but he moved after me, shutting the door and trapping my body in between the door and his arms on either side of my head. “If you claim you know me, tell me something that only you and I would know.”
“I took your virginity.” He declared softly.
I shook my head. “ Yeah, okay whatever you say; pervert. Show me a fraternity test”
“I can name every one of our kids, isn't that enough?” He questioned me.
Snarling in his face. “No. You could just be a really good stalker for all I know.”
He nodded. “ Don’t worry darling, I’m going to get you back to normal in no time.” He said, grabbing my face in his hand.
“ I’m sorry.” He whispered, before snapping my neck. The last thing I saw was him hovering over me before I blacked out.
Klaus’s pov
Vamping downstairs into the main living room with the large fireplace I ran my hands through my hair grabbing one of the chairs and launching it across the room. It broke in half before my phone was going off and I put it up to my ear. “Now is not a great time for a chat Elijah. Raelyn doesn’t remember who I am at all!”
“What are you talking about, brother?” He asked.
Growing under my breath. “I just said she doesn’t remember me, Elijah. As in she doesn’t even remember knowing my name or anything about us being together.”
“Well that certainly is a problem. Do you know how it happened?” Elijah asked me calmly.
Holding a hand over my forehead I raised my voice through the room. “If I knew that, don't you think I would have already returned her memory back!”
“Dad, what’s the yelling about?” Missy vamped into the room with Hope and Alina not far behind her.
“ That damn, witch scum took your mother’s memories away from her. “ I hissed. “ When I get my hands on that girl I’m going to break her spine.”
Alina made a confused face. “Which witch dad?”
“The one that put the Saltzman’s into a prison world until we got them out.”
Hope’s eyes widened in shock. “ Alyssa, but how could she get her hands on a powerful spell like that?” She asked.
“Kai did bring the white oak stake that has the Hollow’s magic over here with him.” Missy remembered.
Hope signed, hissing under her breath . “ It looks like, I’m going to have another chat with Alyssa; it seems the first chat didn’t teach her anything.” .
“ Talk “ Missy scoffed. “ I’m going to break that bitch’s face when I see her.”
“Niklaus, don’t let your children tear the girl apart. It doesn’t sound like her fault.” Elijah spoke and I realized I hadn’t hung up the phone call.
Alina spat back to her uncle. “Uncle Elijah, she or better yet the Hollow hurt our mother. How are we supposed to feel?”
“But violence can't always be the answer.” He responded to one of his nieces.
A door was burst open and the group finally saw that Alaric came around the corner in a huff. “Anybody want to explain to me why Raelyn is locked up in one of the Werewolf cellars?”
“She doesn't remember who I am at the thought moment so to keep her from running I snapped her neck and put her somewhere I knew would be hard for her to escape out of.” I responded, crossing my arms around my chest, angry.
The former vampire hunter scrunched his nose. “Oh geez Klaus. We're a school. We can’t have a riot on our hands.”
“If a werewolf can't break out of the door then how can she -” I cut myself off hearing a loud commotion downstairs in the basement. Everyone else turned their heads when we heard one of the doors get yanked open meaning she had managed to get out. “Bloody hell, Raelyn!”
Hope whipped her head around to me. “Should we tell the squad?”
“No, I'll wrangle your mother in without their help.” I said back to my eldest daughter.
Alina raised her hands, shaking her no in defense. “Wait a freaking second dad. You left us out of the fight last time and look what happened. We're coming with you.”
“Girls.” I grumbled.
Missy put her hands on her hips reminding me of her mother. “Easy way or hard way, dad. It's your choice.”
“Fine, let's go find your mother.” I agree knowing it was the better option then the alternative.
Raelyn’s pov
I vamped as far from the Salvatore school as possible not wanting to be locked up again. Running my fingers through my hair I sat down on the curb needing to think things through about this. “Who the hell does that guy think he is…”
“Never would have taken you to be the one to talk to yourself, Little siphon.” Whipping my head around I would always recognize that nickname after all these years of living separate lives.
Putting a hand over my heart I sighed with a grin. “Damon Salvatore. Aren't you a sight for sore eyes.”
“Where's the hybrid that's normally on your arm?” He asked me with a half cocky smile.
Knitting my brows together. “I….uh I don't know what you're talking about.”
“Hmm I see. Well Elena is cooking dinner. Why don't you come with me and I can show you our daughter.” The former vampire offers to wear the same familiar black jacket he always wore.
Getting up off the crib I knew I remembered him so he wouldn't try to kill me. Not that he really could now that he was a weak human. “I'd love too, Damon.” We made the walk a few blocks away until we reached the porch of the old Gilbert house. Damon opened the front door and walked through without a problem whereas I tried to and smacked the invisible barrier. Holding my head he spun around seeing what had happened.
“Ah sorry about that. Can't say I miss that. You can come in, Raelyn.” He responded simply. I smiled stepping over the threshold before we heard a pair of feet running towards us in a very quick pace.
A young girl with dark raven hair that still looked like Elena but had Damon’s eyes came around to the two of us. “Daddy!” She jumped up into his arms that were already open for the girl.
“Awe she's adorable. What's her name?” I asked liking to see that he was actually happy as a human.
He hoisted her up and held her against his chest turning his attention back to me. “Raelyn, this is Stefanie. Sweetie this is my old friend Raelyn.”
“Hi Rae.” She waved to me. I waved back hearing someone else coming around from the kitchen.
Elena came around still wearing her work clothes from the hospital but she grinned seeing me until there was clearly someone behind me. “Raelyn….Stefania why don't you go play with your toys.” Damon lowered her to the wooden floor and she went to her bedroom.
“It's a little pathetic that you thought that cell would hold me, pervert.” Whipping my head around I noticed the stranger that supposedly was supposed to be my husband. He was standing outside the doorway since he had to be invited in.
“Raelyn, I'm sorry for that. But I don't intend to hurt you. Please just believe me.” He begged with that thick British accent.
Elena steps closer to me. “Wait a minute. Do you not know who it is?”
I nodded where Damon tilted his head confused. “What kind of witch is more powerful than you, little siphon?”
“It doesn’t matter. I came to have a nice dinner with them so you can go now.” I waved my hand wanting him to leave. But when i went to leave there was a whoosh sound and I saw Missy with Hope and Alina who all shared an expression of concern. “Why are you girls hanging out with him?”
Alina stepped through the threshold with Hope seeing as Missy and the supposed Klaus couldn't. “Mom, just hear him out. He is telling the truth about everything.”
“Just consider if it wasn't for him a half vampire half witch wouldn't be able to have children.” Hope put her hands down at her sides.
Stepping to the edge of the doorway I put my hands on either side of the threshold. My blue orbs meet his own that were focused down onto mine with silence falling between us. “What do you want from me, Klaus Mikaelson?’
“I want to take you on a date and maybe just show you how to fall in love again.” He gives me a puppy dog look. “Please Rae.”
“One date that's all.” I replied simply with a nervous expression on my lips. Klaus smiled down at me praying that this plan would work and he would help her get her memory back.

31 - Not out of the woods Yet
Tumblr media
Part 32
Family is More than Blood
@icefrye19 @secretdreamlandmentality
Standing in the middle of the stairwell doorway I sukcked im a breath feeling anger welling throughout my entire body. Alyssa still had the white oak stake shoved inside my husband’s chest. Raising my right hand I vamped forward causing her to grab her head in agonizing pain. “Ah sha lana…ah sha lana!”
“You can’t kill me, Raelyn!” She winced, holding her head and lowering herself down onto her knees.
Throwing her against the wall with my other hand she grunted at the impact. Rushing over to Nik's side he gasped harshly. I could see his skin turning Grey and the veins begin covering his whole body. Dropping myself down onto my knees I wrapped my fingers around the stake yanking it out so harshly that I fell backwards onto the wooden floor. “Urgh!....please work.” I mumbled to myself seeing his body remaining the same for a few good seconds.
His blue eyes shot open and he sat upright holding a hand over the wound that began healing. “Raelyn!”
“Oh…thank god.” Placing my hand over my heart I sighed in relief.
Hope came rushing over to my side. “Mom, are you back?”
“Yeah sweetie. I'm back - look out!” I cried pointing towards Alyssa or better yet the Hollow who had managed to remove herself from the wall spell.
The witch stands in front of us where I turned my hands into fists at my sides. Hope got in a fighting position beside me. “What are we going to do to her?”
“It doesn’t matter what you try on me, heretic. Only your daughter's can kill me in case you've forgotten.” The Hollow walked around with her hands clasped together behind her back proudly.
Alina growled under her breath moving forward and trying to kick Alyssa but she sensed the attack. She grabbed her ankle and swung her around in circles for a good minute before releasing her grip and threw her into the nearest bookshelf. “Alina!”
“I’m okay…” She gasped for breath, lifting her head up slightly when I called her name.
Missy scrambled to her feet snapping her wrists and throwing her hands out in front of her. “Ventus.” Alyssa cried out getting thrown backwards by the amount of magic she blasted her with.
“What are we supposed to do, heretic queen?” Klaus came over to my side finally getting to his feet ready to fight.
Quickly scanning the room I knew that we defeated the Hollow before with my kids blood and the knife that he killed her centuries ago. At the moment that knife was back in New Orleans with Freya and Vincent so we had to stall until we could get it from them. “We can’t kill her yet. We don't have what we need…or maybe we do.” I admit to him eyeing the white oak stake on the ground.
“What are you thinking?” He asked me where my gaze had landed.
Calling my eldest daughter she came over to us quickly. “Hope, cut your palm and drop your blood on the stake. Alina, Missy, you do the same.” Snatching the stake from the wooden ground handing it over to my first born child.
She nods using the end of the stake to cut her palm, drawing blood. She drops her blood, handing it over to Missy who follows her sister's action biting into her wrist making it bleed. “Alina, it's your turn.” Missy handed it to her and she cut her palm, gripping the stake in her hands before she launched it towards the hollow.
Alyssa raised her hand, stopping it with her hand throwing Klaus and our daughters backwards. She looked in my direction where I mumbled quietly under my breath turning invisible. “Invisique.” My whole body wasn't visible to her, giving me the opportunity to grab the stake that she had frozen in front of her chest.
“I’ve had just about enough of you, Hollow!” My husband grunted getting to his feet. He vamped towards her smacking into a barrier spell holding his head. “What the hell have you done?”
The Hollow glanced around confused. “That wasn’t me, hybrid.”
“Then who was it!” He questioned her, seeing a hand turning red against the barrier he had just smacked into.
Keeping my eyes shut briefly I became visible to their eyes once more. My freehand was pressing against the barrier with me muttering a spell. “Guess again, bitch!….Imperium monstrum.”
“Rae. We aren’t going through this again!” Klaus hit his fists on the barrier between him and the us now.
I shake my head pressing the stake into her back where I could smell the fresh blood dripping onto it. Now that it had my daughter's blood on it could actually kill her once and for all. “I’m sorry, Nik. But she has to die.”
“You said we shouldn’t kill if there’s another way.” Missy sent me some sad eyes.
Alina got to her side flashing her werewolf eyes while Hope had nothing else to add onto their statements. “Forget that. She took over Alyssa’s body and almost ruined our family. She took away mom’s memories. She tried to kill us too many times. I don’t see a problem with it!”
“Raelyn, don’t do this.” Klaus begged me with those blue eyes.
Shifting the tip of the stake up to her heart the hollow winced when I slowly pushed it inside her back. “This has to be done, Nik….urgh! Magia tollux de terras… Magia tollux de terras…Magia tollux de terras!” I began chanting, shoving the stake through her heart hearing her cry. At the same time my freehand gripping her shoulder blade turned red and siphoning the magic from her into my bloodstream.
I sucked in a shaky breath focusing my gaze to my husband seeing the same terrified gaze he had when I performed a spell like this one. But I didn’t regret what I was doing. This was to protect my family. To protect the school and the kids that attended it. And that image would remain burned in his memory for all eternity.
“Klaus, I need you to listen to me. I wish we had more time together. Because you are honestly everything I never knew I could have. I…I don’t know what I feel for you but I deeply care about you. So go live your life for me…Magia tollux de terras.” I started crying imagining that I never got to truly be with him. But he needed to live more than I did so that Caroline and the others could.
Klaus vamped forward not caring that the flames grew banging on the magical barrier crying some strong tears for me. “Raelyn! No, no, Rae. Don’t you dare do anything. Stop it, Rae….I deeply care for you too…”
“Magia tollux de terras……Magia tollux de terras.” I grunted forcing myself to my feet stumbling around with blood falling down onto my clothes as I walked towards Finn and Esther.
Grabbing Finn by his shoulder I limped in between the pair gripping Esther by the forearm where she winced sharply staring down at my red hand on both her and her son. “What the hell are you doing, girl!”
“Magia tollux de terras!” I declared gasping sharply feeling her energy running through her, but it was a lot more than I was ever used to. My eyes began rolling to the back of my head and I coughed out some blood from my mouth and nose. Black veins were appearing on my hands drawing her magical source from her
Klaus banged the barrier again hearing my heart almost giving out. “Raelyn, stop it. You have to let go before it kills you - Raelyn!”
Once they were gone I couldn’t stand on my own where I collapsed onto the dirt and salt beneath me. My blonde hair was dirty and stained with blood from where my neck was still bleeding from Finn’s bite. Someone vamped forward lifting my head where I struggled to meet the blue gaze of the hybrid. “Rae, Rae, hey, hey. Look at me please. I need you to keep your eyes open for me.”
“Nik…” I wrapped my fingers around one of his wrists, not able to keep my eyes open any longer.
My body started swaying like it had back then. The Hollow moaned in pain and I felt her body getting heavier against mine. She stumbled backwards and I could hear her heartbeat slowing down. “You can’t kill me, Heretic…”
“Really cause it looks like I’m winning the war right now.” I whispered in her ear, scraping my fangs against her neck, feeling her shiver against the fresh tips. Twisting the stake that was inside her chest she grunts harshly once more. My other hand on her shoulder gripped tighter for balance and I could see the black veins reappearing back across my body yet I didn’t ever let go. “Don’t mess with the Mikaelson’s!”
The hollow screamed out collapsing onto the wooden floor when I yanked the stake out from her chest, staining my clothes in blood. “Argh!….un.”
“Rae!” Klaus vamped forward managing to break through the spell that was now broken. He gently grabbed a hold of my forearms seeing that my body was swaying side to side. “You made the veins come back, love.”
“Nik, I’ll be fine….” I mumbled under my breath letting the bloody stake clatter to the wooden floor. My eyes began getting heavy and I could barely keep them open where my body fell forward to his chest.
He quickly caught my body and scooped me up in a bridal style. “Woah…easy now. You don’t see fine, Raelyn.” Laying my head against his embrace I gripped his shirt in my fingers.
“Dad, is she going to be okay?” Missy asked him.
Hope eyed Alyssa’s body on the ground. “I’ll handle her before anyone else sees this.”
“I still say she deserved it.” Alina smirked, not upset that I had staked her.
Klaus put his attention on our daughters hearing crying coming from the twins bedroom. He vamped, still carrying my body closely to his chest. He lays me down on the bed where I struggled to keep my eyes open seeing baby Charming crawling around on the floor and the curtains were blowing around with the light’s flickering around in the wind he was creating. “Klaus, what’s going on with our boy?”
“I don’t know. I’m more worried about you, heretic queen.” My husband came over to me touching the side of my face seeing that the black veins hadn’t gone away. “How are you feeling?”
Coughing into my sleeve I saw Rapunzel trying to get to her feet and climb on the edge of the bed. She came over to me touching my arm and I winced seeing her hand turn red meaning she was a siphoner until her twin brother. “Ah Rapunzel!”
“Little niece, we have a problem.” I gasped somewhat recognizing the voice that called me that old nickname. Blinking through some tears my vision began blurring where I saw a figure standing by my husband that appeared to be my dead uncle Joshua.
Croaking out I didn’t understand what the Hollow’s magic was doing to me. “Uncle Joshua, no. You’re…you’re dead.”
“Raelyn, there’s no one there.” Klaus glanced over his shoulder seeing nobody was there. “I’m calling Freya right now.”
Shaking my head the veins growing up my arm started burning through my blood making me wince sharply. My dead uncle came and sat down on the bed and put Rapunzel down in his lap. “How am I seeing you right now?”
“Because you're on the verge of death after taking that magic again. If you don’t get rid of it soon you will die. You can’t hold onto that much power all at once.” Uncle Joshua warned me, eyeing baby Charming. “That’s not the only warning I have for you.”
Charming coughed and the glass in the window cracked. Rapunzel watched her brother and clasped her hands together causing one of the pillows beside my head to burst into feathers. “What else could be worse than the fact that I’m dying from black magic yet again?”
“I don’t know how but these little guys aren’t spared from the family curse like we originally thought. After Kai escaped his prison world I could feel something changing in heaven and I can’t explain it.” My uncle explained in a shaky breath.
Covering my face with my hands I didn’t want to believe him. It had to be the dark magic inside me trying to play tricks on my mind. I knew that I had spared anyone in my bloodline. I just couldn’t save Lizzie and Josie from the Merge. “You’re a trick by the Hollow. Charming and Rapunzel don’t have to merge. I took care of it years ago. I know I did.”
“I’m sorry to say that when Kai escaped something was reset. Either by his hand or somebody else I don’t know.” Uncle Joshua sucked in a worried breath meeting my gaze. “Alina and Missy are spared. But he spelled these two with something dark.”
I gulped still in strong denial of what he was telling me. “Uncle Joshua, you’re lying.”
He slumped his shoulders and disappeared the second that Klaus came back into the room informing me that Freya was on her way from Orleans. “I wish I could say I was, little niece. But Rapunzel and Charming will have to merge at some point.” Shutting my eyes I laid my head back feeling my whole body shaking and my heart was getting tighter in my chest even though I was a vampire. The Mikaelson’s aren’t out of the wood’s just yet.

45 - No Normal Conversations

Part 46
Family is More than Blood
@secretdreamlandmentality
Klaus and Ethan had went their separate ways leaving me alone by myself standing outside the office wooden door. Fiddling with the fabric of my shirt I sucked in a breath not wanting to nosey yet dying to know all at the same time. Caroline and Missy had been in there talking for close to two hours nonstop. “Fuck it, Raelyn.” I cursed under my breath moving my ear against the door great full for vamp hearing.
“Missy, I'm sorry this has become a huge struggle for you. This is never an easy task for even experienced vampires.” Caroline was the first one to speak in the conversation.
On the inside of the office Missy sighed heavily sitting down in the nearest chair. “I don't want him to turn and then regret it. I mean I've heard aunt Rebekah and aunt Elena how they hate it.”
“Hey, no vampire turning experience is ever the same story. I mean I got killed by Katherine shoving a pillow over my face after she posed as my best friend.” Caroline clasped her hands together lowering herself down on a knee to be eye level with her. “Melissa, I want you to listen to me. Having concerns over this is completely normal.”
She wiped underneath her nose sniffing. “I just don't know what the right call is. I…I've never turned anyone before and then there's the whole sire bond control and how well he can control his desire for blood. The only simple thing would be making him a daylight ring.”
“We'll just take it one step at a time. I will be here for you along with your parents.” Caroline declared from what I could hear until someone came walking around the corner drawing my attention away from it.
“Raelyn, can I ask you something…Are you snooping on your daughter?” Jacob paused in his steps in front of me.
I take a step backwards from the door. “No.”
“Rae, you're lying when you bite your lip.” He challenged me.
I gasped huffing my arms crossed over my chest. “I do not!”
“Yes, you do.” Jacob sent me a look. “Anyway, with you having been a heretic longer than I have is there any chance that you could make certain parts of me function again?”
“I’m sorry, what did you just ask me?” If I had been drinking something I would have choked on it. Covering my mouth I coughed into my hand.
My twin brother held his hands in front of himself. “I am asking if you can make it where I can give Hayley more children.”
“Jacob, I…I don’t think it is possible. And I don’t have my magic ability at the moment.” I shake my head in disagreement feeling goosebumps crawl up my skin at the thought of taking my magic back at this time.
Jacob dropped his hands to his side. “Rae, please think about this for a second. Andrea is the only child we have.”
“And that’s a reasonable reason for me to take back my powers when you haven’t comprehended that I nearly tried to harm everyone in this school. That’s the reason I put it away in Jo’s hunting knife.” I parted my
Ips in disbelief.
“Raelyn, you keep popping out babies. Like I'm glad you can but goddamn you have an army of supernatural soldiers.” Jacob suddenly snapped at me catching me off guard.
I dropped my mouth open. “J…I…I’m sorry.”
“Sorry isn’t enough here.” Jacob stomped up to me snatching my wrists and I winced feeling him siphoning from me. “If you won’t help me then just teach me the spell and I’ll do it myself!”
Shoving him against the wall with vampire speed I showed my fangs to him. “It’s not a spell that gave me that ability, Jacob!”
“Then what was it?” He spat back at me.
I sniffed through some tears not wanting to remember all that time without him in my life. “Esther tried to kill all of her children until I siphoned her dark magic away. Uncle Joshua tricked me into becoming the Leader of our Coven. Her power was killing me until I died becoming a heretic. Only my stomach is still mortal it's not something I can do without using black magic.”
“You’re gonna make me say what I’ll regret saying to you aren’t you?” He asked me.
My eyes shifted to focus directly on my brother's eyes. I never thought we would be having a fight like this and it scared me the second the words slipped from my mouth. “Say what, J?”
“You’re being selfish, Rae. You’re being selfish by not even considering the possibility of doing the spell if I hadn’t asked you.” Jacob flashed his fangs, pushing me away with his hands roughly where I stumbled into the wooden wall behind me.
I grunted, pressing my back against the wall, remaining almost stuck to it out of fear. “Jacob…”
“What the hell is going out here?” The office door opened and Caroline stood in the doorway with a hand on her hip scowling.
My twin brother rolled his eyes, vamping off without another word. “Nothing that concerns you, Forbes. Just my sister being extremely selfish.”
“Raelyn, what is he talking about?” The blonde turned her head at me.
I slowly pushed myself away from the world, still processing what had just happened before my own eyes. “Uh…I have no idea. I..I need some air.” Vamping off in the distance of the mansion I got away from there as fast as possible. Entering a bedroom upstairs I felt my whole body shaking and my heart inside my chest was tightening even if it no longer beats to keep me alive.
Gripping fists full of my hair I paced back and forth around the room. Someone vamped in the bedroom while I reached up on the dresser for the knife. Drawing the blade down into my right palm I felt the burning of my magic inside of me even though I had none currently. “Raelyn, is everything alright?”
“Phasmatos triut nas ex veras, maquis dumnas rotenem-“ I clutched the hunting knife in my hands with the window glass behind me beginning to shake and shatter into pieces until someone snatched it from my hands and I couldn’t feel the tingling anymore.
Klaus was the one who had come into the room. “Rae, what the hell are you doing?” He held the knife away from my reach.
“Destroying where my magic is stored because my brother now hates me.” I attempted to reach for it but he saw my movement before I could make it. Klaus grabbed my wrists holding them above my head once I was trapped between him and the wall.
Klaus tilted his head so confused. “Rae, you’re not making sense right now. Jacob doesn’t hate you.”
“Yes he does, Klaus. He got upset when I told him I wouldn’t take my magic to dark magic to give him and Hayley the chance to have more kids like we do.” My chest heaved up and down and our noses were inches from touching.
The hybrid didn’t move from our current position furthermore he stepped closer if it was humanly possible reaching up with his other hand to wipe away some falling tears. “Rae. He’s your brother, you’re twin, he couldn’t hate you if he tried. Believe I know a simple sibling squabble when I see one.”
“You won’t ever understand.” I shake my head vamping out of his grasp easier than normal since his guard was down.
Klaus yanked his head in the direction I was watching me going for the hunting knife that was on the carpet floor. “Oh no you don’t.” He vamped onto my back pinning me down the second my fingers brushed the handle.
“Ah Nik! Get off me.” I screamed with his body on top of mine. I elbowed him in the stomach giving me the chance to roll onto my back and hug the blade to my chest.
My husband held himself by the palms of his hands on either side of my head. “Love, I don’t know what has gotten inside that head of yours. But I certainly don’t care for it at the moment.”
“You don’t need to understand. Just know that once my magic is gone for good everything has to be better.” I declare meeting his baby blues.
His eyes changed briefly to the familiar yellow and I heard a low growl from the back of his throat. “One minute you’re telling me you’re magic is who you are so that’s why you are waiting until you’re comfortable again and now because your brother wants to knock up his wife some more you must completely destroy a huge part of who you are. Raelyn, that’s bloody ridiculous - ooohh!”
“You can’t stop me, Nik.” I moved my closest knee up into his crotch and he moaned in pain giving me the chance I finally needed. Grabbing the knife in both hands I began chanting the destruction spell for the second time. “Phasmatos triut nas ex veras, maquis dumnas rotenem-“
The bedroom door that Klaus had shut behind him got flung open a second time. I could hear heavy breathing and the person’s heart beating rapidly meaning they definitely were human. A hand grabbed the doorframe and I saw Lizzie Saltzman struggling to catch her breath against it. “Oh my god what I wouldn’t give for vampire speed.”
“Son of a bitch. Elizabeth, what are you doing here?” I snapped pausing the spell for a third time, annoyed by my siphon niece's presence.
She put her freehand over her heart. “Touchy Auntie Raelyn. I…uh sorry can’t breathe.”
“Lizzie, I’m kind of in the middle of something. So can you please get on with what you need to tell us.” I was growing impatient hearing my husband’s moans of pain dying down meaning he would be going for the knife in the next available position.
She finally had caught her breath standing more upright in the doorway. “Sorry to spoil whatever you were doing. I think Andres is dating gross Connor or one of the other Townies at the high school.” She scrunched her nose when the words came out of her mouth.
“No she’s not. Andrea, can’t possibly be old enough to date yet.” Klaus shot in a sitting upright position glaring at the witch.
Lizzie made a scoffing sound at him. “She’s practically a teenager, Uncle Klaus.”
“That doesn’t mean anything. Hell, I didn't let Hope or Melissa date until now.” Klaus shrugged his shoulders not liking the thought of it.
The Saltzman blonde quipped back. “What about Alina then?”
“Her situation was completely different than my other kids and you know it.” He raised his tone at her waving a finger at her warningly.
Tightening my grip on the hunting knife handle I began chanting. “Enough both of you! Phasmatos triut nas ex veras..”
“Elizabeth, stop her.” Klaus instructed her quickly before I could finish the spell.
Lizzie snapped her fingers previously siphoning some magic from the walls of the mansion allowing her to draw the blade from my hands and turn it invisible before our eyes. “Invisque.”
“Niklaus Mikaelson!” Whipping my head to my husband I wanted to ring his neck so badly, showing him my fangs and vampire eyes.
Lizzie shifted her gaze between the two of us moving her finger around in a circle gesturing to our current state of still laying on the floor with torn clothing and messy hair. “Am I missing something else or did I just interrupt you two having sex?” I facepalmed myself sometimes wishing she wasn’t so much like Caroline at times.

Alina’s pov
Hugging my knees to my chest I couldn’t stop crying. We had gotten home by sunset and I couldn’t bring myself to go see my youngest sister. Someone knocked on the door that I didn’t bother locking. “Alina, it’s me. Can I come in?” I recognized my father’s voice on the other side of the door.
“Sure…I guess so.” I muttered knowing he would hear me with his vampire ears. His gaze scanned over the room seeing the lamp on my desk was snapped. The curtains weren’t burning and the glass in the mirror was shattered to pieces on the floor.
He slowly bent down on a knee seeing my eyes were red from crying for hours on end. “Alina, please talk to me. Tell me what you are feeling now.”
“I killed my sister, dad….I killed Missy….she’s dead because of me!” I raised my head up from my knees hugging my knees tightly to my chest even more than I already was.
He reached his hand forward, placing it on my knee making me look him in the eye. I saw the look in his eyes when she died in his arms and I will never get that image out of my memory. “Lina, every werewolf has to go through this. But don’t think for a moment that your mother and I hate you for it. A witch told us after all that she would become a heretic at some point.”
“Does Missy hate me? Jackson probably does and now he won’t want to be with me.” I croaked through tears before my father slowly pulled me in for a hug.
Gripping his shoulders I buried my face against his chest crying even more than I had before he came into my room. He ran one hand through my hair glancing over his shoulder when he heard someone standing in the doorway. “You can ask Missy when you leave this room. Your mother is getting her blood now. As for Jackson, I’ll let him talk.”
“Jack, you stayed. I thought…you would have..ran for the hills.” I sniffed breaking the hug between my dad and I.
Jackson sat down on the floor with us, taking my hands in his, giving me a bright smile. He moved one hand up holding my cheek. “My mom was there the night I turned but for everything leading up to it and after she wasn’t really there to help me. Help me through the pain that I would have to live with after killing somebody. I won’t do that to you. I’m here for everything.”
“Thank you, Jack. Uh dad…there’s a full moon in two days. Could we get married so that Jack can be there when I turn and he doesn’t have to chain himself away from me?” I glanced up to my father who had gotten to his feet.
He smiled toward us gesturing for us to follow him out. “I don’t see why not. Come on, let's go see your sister.” Jackson and I got to our feet where I felt him take my hand in his sending me a kind smile leading me after my dad.
Raelyn’s pov
Sitting at the foot of my daughter’s bed I just ran my fingers through Missy’s hair slowly. Even though she was sixteen I would still see her as the sweet six year old she used to be. Regardless once she took some blood she would be stuck at age sixteen forever like Caroline was. “I know you can hear me, Melissa. And I just want you to know that even though when you open your eyes everything will feel strange. But we will be here to help you through this.”
“Is she alright now?” Glancing over my shoulder I noticed my second daughter walk in the room with Jackson and my husband.
Getting up from the bed I slumped my shoulders walking over to her simply hugging her while I said my next words. “She will be once she feeds on some human blood. It’s after that is where it will be the hardest. How are you though?”
“I’ll get through it. But um…Jackson and I want to get married before I turn on the full moon in two days. Right now though I need to know she doesn’t hate me….and that my little sister will….that my twin will be okay.” Alina started crying when I slightly pulled back from the hug.
Wiping away her tears with my thumbs I called out to Nik who had gone into the kitchen where we kept some blood bags. “Sssh Lina. She will be fine okay. Nik, did you find one she might like?”
“I did…Missy if you can hear me squeeze my finger.” Klaus sat down in the spot I was in moments ago. The bed creaked when he did so and he held out his left index finger searching her face.
Missy made a noise of discomfort raising her hand and she did in fact tug on his finger that he held in front of her. “Dad…my mouth hurts.” She winced, blinking her eyes opened meeting his blue eyes with her own.
“If you drink this it’ll feel better. Type O negative. Just a hint of copper aftertaste. You’ll learn to love it.” He tore the bag open and held the end up to her. She sat up with his help holding onto his forearm slowly drinking the liquid.
She coughed pushing the bag slightly away before her fangs broke over her normal teeth and were revealed to everyone in the room. “Can I have more?” She asked him eyeing the bag with puppy dog eyes and the veins began appearing under her eyes.
Klaus tucked hair behind her ear for her while she finished the bag. “You can have whatever you want honey. And you’re mother and I will be here to help you through the life of being a vampire and a witch.”
“Mommy, daddy. Is Missy awake?” Everyone turned their heads to the doorway seeing that Hope and Henrik were standing there.
Missy scooted against the pillow feeling her fangs started breaking through again where she buried her face underneath the pillows. “I’m not feeling good…uh get him out of here.”
“Is she okay, mommy?” Henrik asked when I came over and scooped him up into my arms knowing that her desire for blood was sensing him more than anyone else in the room.
Hugging him against my chest I had Hope following me since I needed to be there for Missy since I was the only heretic besides my brother. “Yeah she’s just feeling a little sick and she doesn’t want you to catch it. So you stay in here and play with your sister…I’ll find you in a few minutes.” I whispered to my daughter seeing her nod before I vamped off to find Freya and Klaus talking in one of the other main rooms.
“So you want me to use my magic so that Rebekah and Kol can be at a wedding that is being planned in 48 hours. Do you hear yourself when you come up with these plans?” Freya put a hand to her forehead feeling a headache coming on.
Klaus rolled his eyes, throwing his hands away from his sides. “Alina wants to marry Jackson before the full moon. It will happen at sunrise if it will make her happy before she has to go through with her first transformation.”
“But do you understand that you could be putting the whole city in danger just to have them there for a few hours.” She raised her tone.
Stomping into the room I made them both turn their heads in my direction. “My daughter just had to watch her younger twin turn into a vampire and now has to live with the fact that it was her fault that she died. So if marrying Jackson in two days will make her happy then we will make it so without a hiccup of hesitation is that clear!”
“Fine, I’ll figure something out. Plus I know Rebekah would kill me if she wasn’t at her niece’s wedding.” Freya sighed heavily leaving us alone in the room.
Slumping my shoulders I threw my head back knowing we needed to talk about the woman who had caused all this mess in the first place. “Greta is still out there. What are we going to do about her when we find her?”
“We will deal with her how we deal with all our other enemies, Rae. With fear and blood.” My husband wrapped his arms around my waist before I laid my head against his chest softly.
Lifting my head up to meet his gaze I lightly smirked at him. “And once we have her tied up in the basement we can let Alina and Missy tear her to bits. They deserve it more than anyone else does.”
“God I love you, Raelyn. You were always meant for me.” Nik smiled leaning down, capturing my lips with his.
Wrapping my arms around his neck I depended on the kids pulling his head down to mine so I didn’t have to be on my toes. “You were my first and always be the only man for me.” I giggled when he pulled me up wrapping my legs around his waist.
“Looks like we’re planning our sixteen year old daughter’s wedding in two days.” He smiled, shaking his head with my hair falling in front of his eyes, kissing me quickly.
Running my fingers through his hair he vamped me against the wall of the bedroom door. I warned him, feeling his hands going underneath my shirt. “Don’t go and get me pregnant again Niklaus. Four kids is enough at the moment.”
“You can’t be angry at me for still finding you the most beautiful woman I have seen in my thousand years on this earth. Sometimes I can’t help myself, Rae.” His voice went thick and raspy where I tangled my fingers in his locks and he kept kissing me with our bodies pressed against the hard wooden walls behind us.
Breaking the heated kiss I shake my head. “At least wait a few months until they go back to school. Please for me.”
“Whatever you want, heretic queen.” He breathed out, drawing me in for another hungry kiss.
