1 - Vow to never have Children

Part 2
Gemini Runaway
Tag list ask to be added
"Come on my children it's time for your destiny." My father Ben spoke as my brother Jacob and I walked through the woods stopping in the middle of a clearing. Today is the day we turned 22. Ever since we were kids our parents have said we had a destiny to one day lead our witch Coven. Jacob's blonde hair blows in front of his face as we now face each other. He is slightly taller than me. My mother Eliza stands by my father. She crossed her arms over her chest walking up to me slowly.
"Don't be afraid honey. This is what you're born to do." She tucks hair behind my ear. My back stiffening at the thought if she's telling the truth. The thing about my brother and I is that we are twins. But witches without our own magic. Our mother calls it siphoning. Glancing over my shoulder to Jacob I gulped heavily, putting my hands in his starting the chant we were taught recently. The wind started picking up as I stare up to the sky. The moon moved out from hiding by the clouds glowing down at our current spot.
Jacob squeezes my hands sensing my nerves like always. "Eyes on me. Twins together forever." I sniffed through tears at our little vow to each other. I feel the magic from inside me disappear and some new coming to me meaning it had to be Jacob's. My eyes turn white at the same time as Jacob's. The leaves spin around us as the wind is much faster until we reached the end of the spell. Jacob and I get thrown backwards where I grunted immediately passing out for a little while.
"Jacob!" I suddenly gasped shooting up in a sitting position. My heart beating quick as my eyes flickered around the forest landing on my twin brother laying on his back. Rushing to my feet I dropped on my knees shaking him lightly trying to wake him up. "Jacob, Jacob. Come on wake up. Please wake up, Jacob." My father stepped up placing a hand on my shoulder making me whip my head up starting to cry. "Why - why won't he wake up dad - what's going on?"
Instead of responding he bends down removing the gemstone necklace from around his neck that he always wore, placing it in my hand. "You have won the Merge, Raelyn."
He walked away as I felt tears falling down my face not understanding any of this. "Tardus pulsatio, Tardus pulsatio, Tardus pulsatio!" I press my hands onto Jacob's chest chanting in an attempt to bring him back. My mother suddenly walked up trying to pull me away from him where I screamed. She keeps pulling as I am sobbing uncontrollably now feeling his presence inside me. "He can't die, mother...He's my brother, my twin...I won't lose him!" Suddenly I winced feeling my mother draw magic from me, yanking me away from my brother and locking his body in a boundary spell so when I ran up I smacked a wall.
"You're father threatened that if I told you two the truth that he would force you to do the Merge earlier. I'm sorry sorry Raelyn." Mother threw her arms down at her sides choking through tears at her lost son.
Stomping my boots in the dirt I started crying more out of such confusion. "Why would he - what the hell is the Merge, mother!"
She frustratedly runs her fingers through her hair, throwing her head back in agony. "It's a ritual that happens to twins born into our Coven. Since you and Jacob just turned 22 today that is the year to have the Merge...it's where you combine your strengths together...there can only be one winner."
Swaying on my feet I feel light headed where I might throw up or pass out again at the horror. My mother tried to come towards me but I clutched the necklace of my twin in my hands turning my hand red drawing the magic into myself. "Evanesco." Before her eyes my whole body disappeared like I was invisible giving me the chance to run from her. The wind blows through my hair as my legs just keep running until I collapse against a tree seeing the open road.
Waving my hands back and forth I luckily get someone to stop, rolling down their window I see a young boy with blonde hair and a kind smile. "Hey miss, do you need a lift?"
Nodding my head slowly he put the car in park coming to help me in the passenger's seat closing the door. He closed his door and started the car, giving me a weak smile. "I'm Matt Donavan. What's your name?" Glancing towards the boy out of the corner of my eye I wrap my arms around myself. If today had taught me anything it's that you can't trust anyone, especially your own family.
Shifting my back towards the guy I stared out the window feeling like my heart was gone. "Can you just drive please, Matt. I'm not feeling good." He turns the engine on pulling back onto the road. People say twins have a special connection. That they can know what the other is thinking and can feel their pain. The second part is true, because I can still feel Jacob's spirit inside me still.
"Eyes on me. Twins together forever." Those are the last words my brother would ever say.
Matt drove us into town and I stayed curled up in a ball the whole trip. I don't see how my parents thought keeping the truth from us was okay. That we didn't deserve to know that one of us would win but kill our sibling in the end. Resting my hands over my ears I press my forehead on the countertop of the bar. Hopefully I can just drown it all out or make it appear as a horrible nightmare that I can wake up from.
Knowing that now I clutch my hands into my hair mumbling to myself like a mato. "I'm never having kids. The Gemini Coven will murder them if I do."
Something gets sat down in front of me making me peak through my fingers of my left hand eyeing a drink. "What's this?" I questioned I sit up on the barstool while Matt started wiping down the counter with a rag.
He eyed me with a smile before I raised the glass to my lips taking a sip. "You looked like you could use a drink. No charge for the first."
Without thinking I down the rest sitting it on the table, pressing my hands against it. "Give me something stronger. The stronger the better."
He eyes me for a minute but goes to make the drink anyway. Reaching into my pocket I slowly pull out Jacob's necklace laying it in front of me. Brushing my fingertips over the light blue gemstone I sniffed through tears that immediately came just by staring at the piece of jewelry. "Invisique. Nullum visa laris."
My father was proud that I was alive so I can't trust that he won't come after me. Mother seemed ashamed that she lied. More so that she lost one of her children. Opening my eyes again I hope the spell works to cloak me so they can't do a locator spell. A glass gets slide my way when the front door of the bar opened and someone walks up taking a seat beside me.
"Strong scotch. May I ask what is troubling a lady like yourself?" My ears picked up on a British accent causing me to whip my head throwing my hair around.
The stranger smiles in my direction picking up a drink Matt had brought him that I hadn't noticed until now. "Unfortunately I don't talk to strangers so no." I scoffed flipping my hair towards him.
The British man chuckled taking a long sip from his glass still eyeing me from the corner of his eyes. I can feel my heart starting to flutter at hearing his laugh. Jacob always joked that I dreamed of falling in love with a man with any accent. But I can't deny that the British one was my favorite. "Then let's change that. My name's Klaus. Klaus Mikaelson." He sticks his hand out towards me turning in his chair to face me.
I nearly choked on my drink having to quickly sit the glass down. Hitting my chest as I have a coughing fit in an attempt to not choke. Eyeing him with uncertainty I put my hand in his shaking it slowly biting my lip. Klaus started to pull away but I siphon his hand suddenly twisting his wrist slamming him against the wall with my other hand holding him there.
"Ergh - what are you girl!" He grunts against the wall trying to break free.
Slowly walking up to him I keep my hand raised in front of me holding him there. Eyeing him up and down Klaus has dirty blonde hair and blue eyes that are now turning gold. He clutched his hands into fists still trying to fight against my grip. But somehow I knew I could take him, maybe now that I took my brother's power it gave me a booster. "There's something about you that I don't trust, Klaus. I trusted people closest to me and they betrayed me. So I'm not falling for your charms."
Turning my hand I dropped him to the ground where he growled up at me, heading for the door glancing over my shoulder I kept a brave face to him. "As for my name it's Raelyn Lane. I'd stay away if I were you Mr. Mikaelson."
“I will hunt you to your end, Witch!” He snarled, getting to his feet trying to grab my arm. Spinning around on my feet I threw him backwards once more rushing out the front door and into the parking lot.
Stumbling backwards I collided with someone where we both fell onto the pavement with me pushing my hair out of my face. My eyes noticed that it was a blonde girl that I had run into. “Urgh I’m sorry.”
“Oh…it’s alright. Here let me help you, I’m Caroline Forbes.” She offered her hands pulling me to my feet so we were both standing.
Dropped my hands down to my sides I shrugged my shoulders where I noticed a ring on her hand that I could tell was some sort of daylight ring. By the certain jewelry inside the ring making her a vampire. “I’m Raelyn and I’m sorry again for bumping into you. I was trying to get away from this weird guy.”
“Witch!….Caroline?” Whipping my head around I gasped seeing the same Klaus coming back out of the bar halting in his tracks but he still had golden eyes meaning that he wasn’t just a werewolf when I saw that he showed me his fangs.
Caroline quickly stepped in between us. “Klaus, slow down. I know you probably want to snap her neck but let’s not do that and use your words first.”
“I was simply trying to be nice to the girl until she threw me around with her magic. This is why I don’t like witches.” He slumped his shoulders in anger, sending me a dark glare.
Moving my hand forward I gently gripped the blonde by the shoulder making her wince. “I’m sorry about this, Caroline…invisaqui." Closing my eyes I turned invisible and quickly ran as fast as I could away from them where I could hear as I left.
"Ow! What kind of witch was she?" The blonde asked, rubbing her shoulder.
Klaus shrugged his shoulders frantically looking around, not seeing or hearing me anywhere in sight. "I don't know but she's bloody irritating!!!"

Part 53
Family is More than Blood
@secretdreamlandmentality
Raelyn’s pov
Twirling the tip of the hunting knife blade on the wooden nightstand in silence staring at the hybrid that was standing before me as my husband. He had been just staring at me for the last few minutes. “I can only assume you’re silent means that you agree with what I have said.”
“Quite the opposite actually. My silence towards you is because you are not the woman I married.” He growled at me.
Rolling my eyes and scoffing back at him. “I think biology and a blood test would prove that sentence wrong.”
“Look whoever you are. I want nothing you can offer me.” He rolled his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest.
Swinging my legs over the side of the bed I huffed getting up to my feet. I stride up to him grabbing his shoulders and digging my fingernails in them where he winced just a little bit. “Listen here Niklaus Mikaelson I know you. I know that you want to think that the weak and innocent Raelyn is still inside of me. But she's not. She’s gone.”
“That’s not true, witch. Now if you wish to have me give into your demands I suggest that you start telling me them. Because frankly I am in no mood for a guessing game.” He stepped away from me.
Tapping my fingers on my chin I paused in thought trying to think of a moment where he was close to giving into some sliver of darkness. It didn’t matter whether it was her witch side or vampire side. The desire was there regardless and that is what I was currently feeding off. “Are you sure there were no feelings at all when the weaker me had her humanity off?”
“What the hell are you talking about?” He snapped at me dropping his arms down at his sides.
Vamping into his face I grabbed the sides of his face pushing his forehead against my own. “You forget that I am a part of the Rae you love, meaning I have the same access to all her memories just like you do.” Closing my eyes I forced his mind to view the moment back at the bar when Jeremy was a newbie vampire hunter.
Klaus pushed the door open for me to see a whole bar filled with people and I could hear all their hearts ringing in my ear. “Why bring me here if you know I will drain them dry?”
“Because I have already fed them my blood. So when you kill them…” He trailed off with a smirk on his face watching my reaction.
Wrapping my arms around his neck I kissed him for the first since I had turned into a hybrid. “They will be in transition to be vampires. You are brilliant and so hot right now. I’d say I always had a thing for the bad boys.”
“I knew that about you before you turned, Raelyn. Now before the boys get here I suggest that we start this little show. Ladies first.” He gestured with his hands out in front of him before I vamped forward onto a guys back sinking my fangs into his neck draining him quickly.
Grabbing two girls by their necks I held them down drinking from one after the others throwing my hair around in a mess. It all became too much for me to not just see blood everywhere where I started vamping around like a madwoman. Klaus the whole time was just standing by the bar watching both turned on and sick to his stomach by how much his former witch was enjoying herself. He never imagined this fate for his love. Losing her twin brother took more of a toll on her then he was ever capable of understanding.
Ripping my fangs into half of their necks I pulled back letting blood drip down my chin. He reached up, taking some off of me moving his other hand to my neck. I watched his eyes flash gold nuzzling his nose into my neck whispering. "I want you to know that it pains me to see you like this. I want nothing more than to find pleasure seeing you like this. But my heart can’t allow that in.”
“You only feel horrible because you have your humanity on. So why not just turn it off with me huh. We’ve got time before these babies come out of my belly. So turn it off with me, together forever." I smirked before he hooked my legs around my waist, vamping me against the wall kissing me hungrily. Everything felt right, his hands and lips on mine. Blood mixing together where he started kissing my neck slowly. I gasped, gripping his locks in my fingers, throwing my head back.
“Urgh! That means nothing to what you're toying with me about.” He harshly pushed me backwards away from him. His eyes glowing golden with me smirking directly at the hybrid in front of me.
Tilting my head to the side I could feel he was lying to me. The big bad hybrid I knew years ago was in there. He just needed to remember what he made the world believe he was. “You are a terrible liar, Mikaelson. You can’t tell me that you feel nothing when I do this…” I held his face tightly in my hands before pressing my lips up against his own.
At first he was hesitant and tried to pull away yet I got the result I wanted when he kissed me back. He moved his arms quickly around my waist pushing my body as close to his as possible. I smiled into it threading my fingers into the dirty curly locks of blonde tugging on them until he moaned. “Rae!”
“There you go. It’s me.” I mumbled breaking the kiss wrapping my arms around his neck deepening the kiss.
He broke the kiss briefly when his phone started going off getting distracted. “Who is it?”
“Did you wake Raelyn yet?” I could hear Rebekah's voice through the phone.
He answered her. “She woke up on her own. She's rather different though - not that I'm complaining..” Wrapping my arms around his neck I buried my face in his shoulders trying to distract him and it was clearly working.
“Different how, Nik. She didn't turn off her humanity again did she?” Rebekah asked sharply.
He growled into the phone following my movements slowly turning around to face me. Dark Raelyn sways her hips back and forth at me, reaching for the bottom of her shirt, dropping it on the floor leaving her in a bra and jeans with her boots. “Rebekah, she consumed the dark magic in the prison world. She isn't herself…but I have to go.”
“What no!” She cried.
I caught wind of Elijah's voice when he tossed his phone onto the bed. “Niklaus!”
“You know telling them about little old me won't end well. They'll come here.” I walk forward to him, draping my arms over his shoulders.
My husband clicked his tongue yanking me against his by the loop of my jeans and I jumped wrapped my arms around his waist. “I don't want to care for you because you're not her. But I can't help myself.”
“You like to be in control, you've told me.”
“Not so much anymore.” He pointed out.
“I'm not looking to overpower you, Klaus. I just want you to embrace this side of me. I mean honestly have you never imagined what it might be like to be a true vampire with me. Have you never imagined what it would feel like being rippers together or breaking all the furniture in the room hmm?”
Klaus blinked his eyes a couple of times. He still held me up by my thighs against his chest. “Raelyn, I am flattered by this other side of you. But its not the woman I married. I want her back, always and forever.”
“Come on just give me a chance. I know deep down you've considered it once or twice. So tonight let's see where this takes us and if tomorrow comes and you still don’t like it then I'll have to try harder.” I shrugged my shoulders giving him the puppy dog eyes, returning my eyes back to their normal color briefly.
Klaus wasted only a second before the wolf and vampire inside of him couldn't last any longer. He crashed his lips down to mine hungrily. I responded back with the same force, threading my fingers into the dirty locks for the second time. “I must admit I have been intrigued at the thought of breaking all the furniture.”
“The mansion has been needed an upgrade.” I broke the kiss and the next thing I knew I was on my back on our king size bed. He leaned down capturing my lips with his and our clothes got thrown around faster than they ever had.

Part 27
Family is More than Blood
@secretdreamlandmentality @icefrye19
Salvatore School - current timeline
"I can't believe mom did this to us. Does she not believe we are strong enough to handle this?" Alina snapped, laying back on the couch in front of the fireplace.
Missy was standing by the fireplace. "She had a valid point with you being pregnant."
"Since when has being pregnant in this family ever stopped mom from kicking ass!" She snapped to her twin.
Hope huffed. "Enough both of you. We can be angry with our parents after we rescue them and the Saltzman’s from the prison world."
"How are we even supposed to get there though? Mom took the Ascendant with her, didn't she?" Missy shrugged her shoulders with a questionable look.
The oldest Mikaelson daughter spoke up again. "I took the one that Alyssa created so we’ll just use that one.”
Footsteps came into the room quickly to show the three Mikaelson that it was Andrea. “Hey, Henrik keeps asking what is going on and my parents just saw me checking on Rapunzel and Charming.” She said pointing over her shoulder with her thumb.
“We can’t keep a secret from them I guess. But they’ll have to have us help if they want to know what has happened.” Hope crossed her arms over her chest not backing down.
Suddenly they heard the wind blow into the room and Jaocb and Hayley were standing beside their daughter now. Hayley put a hand on her hip eyeing the future Tribrid. “Oh we believe you, Hope. Now what exactly happened to your Heretic mother and Hybrid father.”
“You don’t know what Kai was like, Hayley. Rae showed me what he did at Jo and Alaric’s wedding. He didn’t care that he stabbed his sister with a knife. He just wanted to be the leader no matter the consequences to others. He’s ruthless.” Our Uncle J explained to his wife.
Missy walked over to the three. “Okay, so let’s do the prison world spell and rescue them.” The front door of the school opened and everyone turned their heads not expecting to have anybody else coming into the room at that moment. Dorian came inside and had someone wearing a light gray suit and tie following behind him.
"Fam, meet - Joshua. Old friend of Ric's. And drumroll, please. He's also an expert on prison worlds. I told him about our problem." Dorian explained with the three Mikaelson’s trying not to give him a concerned face.
The man that had dark almost black hair stepped to Hope who was holding the Ascendant asking and she reluctantly gave it over. "Do you mind if I? Thank you so much. Wow. Wow, wow, wow. It is in pieces. Oh, my…"
He gasped hearing a faint sound from inside. "There's a linking spell on this. It produces a, a faint hum, like a, like a melody, if you, if you know what to listen for."
Andrea leaned in to listen but was confused when he snatched it away from her ear. "You clearly don't. When the Saltzmans performed their spell on-on this ascendant, they were being tied to another. Hold this." But he tossed it towards her chest.
Alina grunted, raising herself from the couch. "So what exactly does that mean we need to do, Mr. Joshua?"
"That witch of yours didn't send them to, you know, a new, empty prison world. She sent them somewhere, somewhere far older and much more dangerous. And you're going to need my help to get them out." Kai turns his head towards the pregnant werewitch clasping his hands together.
Hayley could feel the unspoken tension in the room so she looped her arm through Kai's and began leading him away with Dorian. "Dorian, why don't you show Ric's old friend around a bit while we gather what we need, yeah."
"Sounds good." The clearly compelled human said leading the pair away from the group.
Jacob waited until they weren't in ear shot whispering to his three nieces. "How the hell did he get out but they didn't. We have to tell your mother somehow before things get out of hand here."
"It's not good if he's here." Andrea added on shoving her hands inside the pockets of her jacket. "Do you think he knows that we know?"
Missy gulped nervously. "I hope not. Otherwise we're screwed."
"Look we all know Kai is here and that he's a threat to the school sp this is what we are going to do. Uncle Jacob, you and Hayley make sure he doesn’t do anything to destroy the school. Andrea, we're gonna need your help with the Ascendant and that leaves the rest of us to break the spell and bring everyone home." Hope declared to the group who were all in agreement.
An innocent voice met their ears. "What about me?" Henrik was peeking his head around the corner.
"You little brother have the most important job of all…staying out of trouble and watching your baby brother and sister for us." Alina moved in between her sisters picking up her brother in her arms even though her belly was making it more of a challenge now. "Can you do that for us, Hen?"
He nodded with a smile. "Yeah."
"To bringing the family back." Jacob stuck his hand out and everyone placed their hands on top of his declaring back to him.
"To bringing the family back!"
Raelyn’s pov - prison world
Klaus and I had headed back to the Salvatore house and Josie had gone off to find her father. Kicking opened the front door I stomped through the house not caring if we were being loud. Throwing my hands up in the air I grumbled. "I can't believe I let him get away with the Ascendant. Stupid, stupid, Raelyn. I let my gut down just a wee bit and he double crossed us again!"
"Rae, there's nothing we can do about it now. But I agree that he will get what he deserves when we get out of here." Klaus told me lifting his chin up hearing something in the distance. "Someone else is here."
Whipping my head around I throw some of my hair in my view seeing someone run around the corner revealing Alaric and Josie. Yet Josie was dressed in all black clothing and her eyes were darker than normal. Rushing over to the pair I noticed the familiar dark veins growing on her forehead and her body. "Josie, what the hell happened to you!"
"Someone told me the only way to get us out of here without the Ascendant was to take the black magic." She responded dryly.
"Kai Parker you son of a bitch!" I cursed under my breath until I noticed who was missing. "Wait Where's Lizzie?"
Alaric dropped his shoulders. "We found her on the side of the road in a crashed police car with Sebastian. I patched her wounds but she's resting now."
"Sebastian?" Klaus raised a brow at the former vampire hunter.
Turning my head slightly to my husband I answered. "Has dark hair like Damon but an accent like yours and-"
"And he's a bad boy." Alaric interrupted me.
Klaus nodded. "Ah I see now."
"Someone's here." Josie informed us before I spun around on my feet and saw my eldest daughters standing in front of us.
My daughter asked. "What happened to you?"
Josie told her. "I broke the Sandclock."
She gasped in regret. "Oh, my God, I'm so sorry."
Alaric and Klaus both shared the same confused look seeing us talking to a wall. "Honey, who are you talking to?"
Josie replied. "Hope she's astral-projecting."
Alaric warned her. "Listen, you have to warn her about Kai."
Hope knitted her brows. "Why? What happened?"
"Kai went into the Malivore pit, and we think he's trying to get to the real world." Josie explains.
My daughter bites her lip admitting my worst fear. "Actually, I think he's already here, pretending to be someone else. Kai's at the school….and just to point out mom this wouldn’t have happened if you let us help in the first place."
"Hope Andrea Mikaelson we're not talking about that right now and I stand by the decision I made-"
Alaric cut me off. "Hope? Listen to me, Kai's incredibly dangerous. You have to get him away from the school now."
Josie waved her hand, sending her off, turning back to our group. "Good luck, Hope. We need to do whatever it takes to get out of here."
"Josie, let me take the black magic from you and do the spell." I take her hands in mine eyeing the black veins that were visible, remembering all the trauma that was created when I had the same thing happen to me.
Klaus raised his voice at the mention. "Absolutely not, Raelyn. It could kill you!"
"And it will kill her if I let her do this. I'm not the weak siphon I used to be anymore." Flashing my fangs to my husband I focused my attention back to the girl. "Josie, please. I don't what I would do if I did nothing when I have lived through this myself."
She squeezed my hands walking away to get the things for the spell. "I'm stronger than you think Aunt Raelyn."
"We do the spell." Alaric nodded following after his daughter to check on Lizzie. "And I'll stay behind."
Nik placed a hand on my lower back sensing that I didn’t like the way the plan was going. Slumping my shoulders I ran my fingers through my hair feeling my stomach twisting in knots. “Rae, she’s young and like Josette. She will be able to do this.”
“I know, Nik. I still don’t have to like the idea.” I mumbled reaching down for his hand and he looped his fingers through mine. He squeezed my fingers before we vamped off to find the others and get out of this prison world once and for all.
Missy’s pov - Mystic Falls current timeline
Hope, Alina and I had met back up with Kai leading him into somewhere he believes there was a magical device we needed at. But it was just to keep him away from everyone else. Hope stared at him when he questionably looked around the storage area. “This doesn't seem like much of a spot for a powerful magical artifact.”
I snapped remembering the story of what Bonnie did to him when we were kids. “Neither does a stuffed teddy bear.”
“That's very good.” He chuckled.
Hope explains going over to a crate in search. “Dr. Saltzman hid what we need in one of these crates, so Look for the Salvatore logo.”
“It's a good thing there's not, like, 400 crates in here. Eeny, meeny, miny, crate. When you say Salvatore logo, you mean, like, that thing with the "S" and the squiggle?” Kai chuckles, turning his back to the three of us. Hope raised her hand using her magic, launching a piece of wood toward his back but he stopped it. “And so it begins.”
“Ascendo.” I raised a hand throwing a crate at him but he raised his hand smashing it with magic.
He got to his feet running towards me. “Nice try.” I vamped him against the wall where he grunted until he kicked me in the stomach harshly.
Alina growled, running head toward him and throwing punches at him. He blocked a few of them until she grabbed his wrist chanting a spell to block his powers even though he was a heretic like me. “Phasmatos tribum, exum sue, redem su pas quo-“
“I thought your mother would have taught you better and remember I don’t fight fair.” He grabs her wrist siphoning from her where she lowered herself onto her knees and he pushed her down onto the floor.
Hope snapped her fingers and managed to break one of his knees for a second. “Errox femus.” She then took the chance and kicked his other leg out.
Kai swiped her leg out from under her through. She fell on her knees and kicked his leg again but it was clear that he could have moved away from her advance. “You could have blocked that.” Hope pointed out when he sat upright from the wooden ground.
The psychopath dryly laughed at us. “Yeah, you're right. I-I just wanted you to think you were doing a good job.”
Hope stepped a few steps away from him. “You're not trying to beat me.”
Kai grunted getting to his feet, smirking at the triplets proudly. “Oh, no. No, not for a a few more minutes. Because right now, Alyssa Chang is performing a spell that will sever my connection to the prison world.”
“She can’t do that. She’s not strong enough on her own.” I attempted to remain calm.
He tilted his head to the side. “Yeah you make a good point. Unless I brought over an extra source of magic that would make her have the power of a thousand year old witch.”
“The Hollow….we sent the stake into his prison world, not a new one.” Alina smacked her forehead in regret and I could hear Hope’s heartbeat increasing in fear just the same.
Raising my hand I choked Kai where he grabs his neck even though I couldn’t kill him. “You really are a psychopath if you’re willing to let our mother die. And for what just because you find enjoyment in it. You already took away Josie and Lizzie’s mom.”
“Nobody’s been on my team my whole life, Meli. So forgive me if I don’t see the whole desire to feel bad for what I’ve done.” He clasped his hands together pushing through the pain that I was causing him. “But you should be more concerned with the fate of your mommy since that place was created for me, once she's done…”
“The world will disappear. Along with everyone inside of it.” Hope put the pieces together through a sharp gasp and her heart skipped a beat.
“Oops.” Kai just simply smiled.
Alina waved her hands and shoved him against one of the wooden posts trapping him there with large metal chains. “Remember this Kai Parker. If my mother doesn’t kill you for what you did to our family then mark my word I certainly will!” She stomps up to him grabbing his chin in her freehand flashing her werewolf eyes sounding just like our father.
The three of us quickly rushed back to the school as fast as possible, finding Alyssa sitting in the center of a candle circle and a spell book at the end of her knees. Hope ran forward but she smacked into a barrier spell. “You really are a basic witch.”
I begged the witch not wanting to see our family die because of Kai Parker. “Alyssa, please.”
“I don't want them back. Not now, not ever.” She scoffed.
Alina snapped at her. “If you finish that spell, you'll kill them all. Are you that stupid to believe that nobody would get hurt!”
She mumbled looking away from us. “He didn't say anything about that.”
“Well, think about it. If you sever the connection, the prison world collapses. Everyone in it will die.” Hope lowers herself on a knee trying to talk her out of this idea. “Look, I know that you're angry, and I know that you want to hurt them. But you're not a murder. Trust me, you don't want to be responsible for someone's death. It stays with you. You carry it forever.”
Alyssa stepped away from the Ascendent until the pieces started turning without her doing anything. I gasped seeing a bright flash covering my eyes before I saw Lizzie and Alaric sitting on the floor. “Oh my god. You guys are alright.” Bolting forward I tackled the pair in a bear hug each.
Another flash occurred and we saw our father come back next. He got to his feet rushing to Alina who hugged him tightly. “I’m here, Lina.” He whispered hearing another flash of magic and we saw our mother snap upright with a gasp crying happy tears when she saw we were all there.
“Mom!” Hope flung her arms around her crying for a moment hearing a final flash noticing that it was Josie. The Saltzman girl rose to her feet smiling at our group until all of us embraced each other in a family hug.
Raelyn’s pov
Sliding on one of Nik’s sweatshirt over my head I was so tired from the day we had. Tying my hair up in a messy bun walking through the old storage facility where Alina had informed us they had trapped Kai Parker. “Are you ready to do this, Alaric?”
“It’s time to put an end to our suffering. He took too much from the both of us.” He responded by showing me a metal tall pickaxe in his right hand. He let the end of the blade slide across the ground creating sparks until we reached where Kai was chained up.
Kai sent me a puppy face. “Awe Rae Rae, great I was hoping to see you.”
“You tried to get one of our students to kill us all, you psychopath.” I got in his face harshly grabbing his shoulders and he winced when I used his blood boiling spell against him one final time. “Phasmatos navaro pulsus sanguinox….any last words, cousin?”
Kai gasped when I removed my hands, sighing in relief. “We could have been a good team, you and I…And you won’t be safe after I’m gone.”
“Ric, get it over with.” I stepped backwards, shoving my hands in the loops of my jeans glaring at my cousin. “You are finally getting what you deserve!”
Kai chuckled at Alaric. “Given all we've been through, this feels a little anticlimactic. Don't you think?”
“Not to me. This is for Jo.” Alairc raised the blade behind his head and he swung it, cutting his head off.
Laying on the bed alone in our bedroom I was just resting with my eyes closed. Klaus was downstairs reading to Rapenzal and Charming like he had done with all of our kids when they were babies. Someone knocked on the door and then I opened my eyes seeing it was Alyssa and she closed the door secretly locking it behind her. “Hi Mrs. Mikaelson, I just thought I’d come by and apologize for what I almost did tonight.”
“Uh thanks Alyssa. But it’s really not necessary. It was Kai just being his usual self. Thankfully we won’t have to deal with him anymore.” Sliding to the edge of the bed with my legs hanging over the side.
She crossed the room holding something behind her back until she was standing so close I could almost fall back onto the mattress. “Speaking of Kai he asked me to give you a message with this…” She revealed the white oak stake from behind her back pushing me down onto the bed.
“Urgh Alyssa!” I groaned holding the tip of the stake with my hands while she tightly held the top end just to the side of my heart. “What are you doing?”
The young witch pushed the tip of the stake into my chest where I grunted in some pain. She gripped her nails into the stake and I gasped for air seeing her eyes turn bright blue reminding me of the Hollow. “The Hollow wants you to suffer. Louvre, louvre animo. Pemet you accesses…Dedisco.”
I kicked the witch in the gut and she fell onto the floor giving me the chance to grab the stake in my hands. Standing above her I gasped feeling my wound healing slowly still in shock. “What the hell was that for, Alyssa!”
“It doesn’t matter. I just want you to answer one question.” She scrambled to her feet standing away from me and her eyes returned to their normal color. “Who is Klaus Mikaelson?”
Knitting my brows I started to answer her but paused thinking really hard about that name. Yet nothing was coming back to my memory so I had no choice but to reply with the response. “I’ve never heard that name before in my life. I don’t remember anyone named Klaus Mikaelson.”

49 - The Price of Landon Kirby
Tumblr media
Part 50
Family is More than Blood
@secretdreamlandmentality
Alina’s pov
Shutting the fridge in the kitchen I grabbed a bottle of milk that was for Xavier. I jumped, nearly dropping the bottle on the floor, seeing Lizzie standing on the other side of the door. “Lizzie. You scared the living crap out of me.”
“Calm down, Alina. I just wanted to hang out with you since you’ve been busy with your baby boy.” She leaned against the countertop wearing a white long sleeve shirt and the Salvatore logo pin stuck on the front of it.
I sighed feeling guilty that she spoke the truth. “I’m sorry about that. But I thought you were busy helping my sister find Landon.”
“I was…until she basically declared that she didn’t care if we were going on a dangerous mission. All she cares about is getting her boyfriend back.”
I trailed off turning around so I was facing her. “She loves him. I understand why she wants him back.”
“But she refuses to see anyone else and refuses to care about their safety.” Lizzie flipped her ponytail over her shoulder.
I started walking and exited the kitchen hoping she would just follow me and she did so we could continue talking on foot. We made our way up the stairs to my bedroom seeing Xavier laying awake in his crib. “Lizzie, I just think you’ll understand when you find your person. And you should know by now that us Mikaelson’s are notorious for doing everything to protect the ones we love.”
“Believe I have figured that out over the years. On a different note, what do you think this little guy is going to be supernatural wise?” Lizzie slumped her shoulders tickling Xavier on his feet and his laughter filled the room.
Moving Xavier to lay his head on my chest he made a cooing noise. “Considering Jackson and I are both wolves, he’ll definitely take after that. If he’ll be a hybrid or werewitch I’m not sure yet.”
“In my opinion I think team werewitch should dominate the team heretic - huh why is your dad calling me?” Lizzie smirked back at me feeling her phone vibrating in her pocket.
Shrugging my shoulders I responded. “I don’t know. Answer him.”
“Hey Uncle Klaus, what are you calling me for?” She asked, putting the phone to her ear. I couldn’t hear what he was saying but she hung up the phone seconds later. “You told them about Hope’s suicidal mission?”
“I just told them since it might affect the school.” I answered her question.
She made a face at me, deciding to leave the room without another word. “Okay well I’ll find you later. I have to go spy on my sister's new love interest.” She shut the door behind herself and I threw my head back praying she wouldn’t find out I was lying.
“Did she suspect anything, Lina?” Hope’s voice came into my bedroom when she appeared to be me in astral projection form.
I rolled my eyes at her. “I don’t like lying to her.”
“Like you said she’ll understand when she has someone she loves like us. Now can you get the Ascendant from the office or not?” My older sister asked me.
Bouncing my baby boy in my arms I paused before answering her. “Yeah I’ll get it. But next time I am not lying to Lizzie ever again.” I laid Xavier back down in his crib heading to the office knowing we had a few more hours before the celestial event would be here which was her one chance to bring Landon back home.
Josie’s voice could be heard with me moving through the forest. “Bennett blood?”
My sister Hope answered. “Check.”
“And then, do you have the ascendant?” Josie said.
“Uh, back at the school.” She trailed off.
“Then why are we here?” Josie sounded confused.
“Well, your dad had it spelled. But for a fully operational siphon witch who can break down its barrier, that shouldn't be a problem.” My sister explained right before I came running through the woods with a bag on my shoulder carrying the Ascendant.
“I’m here, Hope.” Reaching inside the bag I dropped it at my feet holding the Ascendant in my hands. “I’ll help you and then I have to get back to Jackson and Xavier.”
“That shouldn’t be a problem, Lina.” Hope said, giving me a nod. I closed my eyes focusing my magic with the object turning red briefly and then returned to its normal color.
Hope held up the coin Josie had put her magic in that suddenly flew out of her hand and we all turned our heads to see my mother and Lizzie standing a few feet away. “Well, it sure as hell is for this one, sister. I told you to leave her out of this.”
“So let me see if I have this right. You are so desperately in love with Landon that you are willing to put us all in extreme danger. Have you lost your ever freaking mind, Hope Andrea Mikaelson!” My mother stomped forward getting in my sister’s face, her fangs sticking out of her mouth. I gulped knowing we were definitely in trouble now.
Raelyn’s pov
“Mom please understand why I am doing this. You would do the same if it was dad.” Hope raised her voice at me.
Vamping in my daughter’s face I growled, raising my freehand attempting to freeze them. “I wouldn’t risk everyone’s lives unless they chose to help me out. But going behind everyone else’s backs to get him back no matter the consequences is the problem here - Immobilus.”
Alina stomped forward shoving me backwards towards my nieces. “You can’t stop us even if you wanted to. Just stay out of the way otherwise you’ll get hurt.” Stepping backwards from her I clutched my hands into fists at my sides, not liking that I felt powerless.
I was standing in the middle of a confrontation between these family members. Klaus was picking up Charming and Rapunzel from the Gilbert house so he wouldn’t notice I was missing for a few hours. “Well, I think we're all clear as to why we're here, so why don't we just skip the verbal sparring and get to the actual fight?”
“I'm not gonna ask again, Lizzie. Give her the coin.” Hope snapped at her.
“Invisique.” Lizzie takes my hand in hers and siphons some magic from me. She throws the now invisible coin across the ground.
Hope gasped. “How could you?”
“Relax. We'll find it later, after we get your boyfriend back.” Lizzie stepped towards my eldest daughter.
Josie sent her sister a weak look. “Lizzie, no. You don't have to do this for me.”
“Yes, I do. Because you're my blind spot, Jo.” She spoke back.
The Saltzman blonde glared at Hope. “You want to do this spell so bad? Let's do the damn spell.”
Standing off to the sidelines with Josie I just silently watched them. Alina finished drawing the protection circle while Lizzie got the Ascendant ready for the spell. “Now step outside the circle.” Hope instructed Alina who stepped backwards over the circle with us.
Lizzie warned her. “And don't come back in. No matter what happens.”
“Sangiema Meam Et Nos Mundo Carcerema. Sangiema Meam Et Nos Mundo…” Hope and Lizzie each held onto the Ascendant and began chanting the words to the spell.
The sky began changing colors and the stars shifted around to be in line with the magical object. “It's working.” Josie muttered out.
“...Carcerema. Sangiema Meam Et Nos Mundo Carcerema.”
Lizzie winced, eyeing the object when it began turning red and I could hear her heartbeat beginning to race. “I don't remember this being so painful.”
“Dark magic. The Necromancer was full of it when we trapped him, so the prison world must be radioactive with it. And now it's infecting you.” Josie gasped before I caught a glimpse of black veins crawling up their wrists and their faces. I gasped in horror when a memory flashed through my mind.
“You have to promise not to say anything to the guy and girl outside this door that came with me, this started happening after I did the spell to find you.”
Rolling up the sleeves of my shirt on my right arm I held my forearm out to her seeing her eyes go wide in shock and horror at what she saw. The black veins that had first appeared the spell to consume Esther spell had returned and we’re making their way up my arm. “Holy crap, cuz. We are in serious trouble. If…if that gets worse then you might.”
“Die, I know Jo.” I sniffed through some tears knowing Klaus would hate me if I told him I might die so I needed to fix this before he ever found out about it. “You’re the only family member I trust so I am begging for your help with this.”
Lizzie began panicking. “What do we do?”
Josie raised her voice in a panic. “Sever the connection. Let go.”
“ I can't! ” Lizzie tried to pull away.
Covering my ears with my hands I attempted to block out the increasing sounds of their heartbeats banging against my ear. “This can’t be happening. This isn’t happening right now….where is it, where is it!” Running my hands frantically around the waistband of my jeans I located Josette’s hunting knife I still had on me, death gripping it in my hands.
Hope wasn’t backing down even when the black veins began growing. “Hold on. We can do this. We just have to push through.”
“No, Hope, you could die! Let go!” Josie begged her friend again.
“No!” Hope declares with a stern tone. “I'm not abandoning him again.”
Josie moved past me and shoved her hand down on her sister’s arm, trying to help her with the magic. “ Josie! “ Lizzie cried out in terror.
Hope apologized seeing the two twins struggling. “I'm so sorry.”
“Alina!” I cried out when she ran forward throwing her hands on Hope’s shoulder siphoning from her. The dark magic began traveling between the four girls and there wasn’t a part of their skin that wasn’t covered by it.
I vamped forward to the edge of the protection barrier seeing a figure appear before my eyes again. “Difficult to watch isn’t it?”
“What the hell do you want!” I growled through heavy tears seeing the darker version of myself coming out of my head.
Dark Raelyn smirked evilly, tapping the tip of the hunting knife in my hands. “You know why I’m here, Rae Rae. The only way to save their lives is embracing who you are.”
“No. I…I won’t.” I shook my head no yet she just tilted her head silently telling me I was wrong. My fingers clung onto the blade handle with the teen girls fear consuming my every emotion. Closing my eyes I blurted out the ancient words as fast as possible off my tongue. “Fructose Ispiritus…Fructose Ispiritus!”
Gasping sharply the hunting knife fell into the glass and my hands turned red siphoning all the magic that had been contained inside of it for so long. “Ahhh!….Magia tollux de terras….Magia tollux de terras!” Grasping Alina and Josie’s shoulders wincing I held onto as best I could seeing the black veins disappear from their bodies and transfer onto mine. The Ascendent dropped from their hands when someone grunted and knocked it away from our group of witches.
All of us got thrown backwards to the dirt and the Ascendant dropped into the dust. I groaned holding my head laying beside Hope seeing someone walking to us when the fog cleared and she sounded relieved. “ Landon? “
He replied with a smile. “Long time, no see.”
“Am I dead or is this... another dream?” Hope rose to her feet slowly walking towards her boyfriend in disbelief.
Lizzie slowly rose to her feet helping her sister up at the same time. “No, I'm pretty sure Landon made it back here somehow.”
“Because we totally see him, too.” Josie whispered back.
Alina whipped her head around in my direction seeing me swaying from side to side on my feet. “Mom, are you okay?”
“I….I…my magic is -“ My eyes rolled back in my head and I fell backwards passing out onto the harsh ground.
Alina rushed over to her mothers body with the other girls all concerned for her safety. “Is she going to wake back up like normal?”
“I don’t think so, look. They aren’t going away like they should. We need to find dad immediately.” Hope declares beginning to panic about what danger she had just put her mother through…and would she ever wake up.

15 - Esther's Ritual
Tumblr media
Part 16
Gemini Runaway
Tag list ask to be added @dragonixfrye @secretdreamlandmentality
Three chapters in a day. I can't believe I managed it 😁
Esther and I walked through the middle of the woods which makes me nervous considering the last time I went off with someone like this I had the possibility of dying. She stopped when we reached a witch house and I saw that Finn was standing there watching us. “So what exactly are we doing out here and what does this have to do with helping your children?”
“We are out here to perform the spell when the moon rises in the sky. It will be a celestial event but I can not control all that power on my own. Which is why I need you and a few other witches to assist.” She explains where I heard leaves breaking so I turned in the direction seeing two dark skinned girls walking towards us.
The younger one with straight black hair stopped in her tracks eyeing me with a weird look. “You’re the siphon witch. I wasn’t expecting to meet you like this.”
“And who are you?” I knitted my brows together in confusion.
The older one raises her hand introducing herself. “I’m Abby and this is my daughter Bonnie. We’re Bennett witches. What bloodline are you related to?”
“Gemini. I’m Raelyn Lane. But I am not a full witch. I can only siphon magic from others.” I tucked hair behind my ear spinning the blue jewelry.
Esther explains interrupting our conversation. “Bennett witches, thank you for coming. I could think of no better allies than the woman who sent Mikael into his long sleep and the girl who fought Niklaus so bravely.”
Abby asked her. “ Why exactly did you invite us here?”
“You are the descendants of the witch Ayana. She was a great mentor of mine, and I think it's only fitting that I draw from her bloodline.” She told them where I knitted my brows together knowing that it meant she was doing a very powerful spell if she needed three other witches.
Bonnie spoke up. “So are you channeling our ancestors?”
Esther added onto her question. “I draw from the entirety of the Bennett bloodline, living and dead. The connection affords me great power, although it is somewhat difficult to maintain, which is why I require you, mother and daughter, the bloodline made manifest. Tonight, my sisters, we shall bring peace to the spirits of nature that we serve, and for that, I thank you.” She took their hands in hers leaving them to follow Finn inside to prepare.
She turned to follow him seeing that I hadn’t moved from my current spot. “I will need you to join us, Raelyn or are you not coming?”
“I am not on the current update of spells. But I can tell that a spell that requires you to channel all the living and dead witches of one bloodline cannot be good. So I have to ask, "What exactly is this spell you are doing?” I asked backing away from the original witch in slight fear but tried to remain calm since Finn could hear my heartbeat.
She made a face at me reaching for my hand. “I have upset the balance of nature. This spell tonight will fix what I have done.”
“That doesn’t answer my question though. What is the spell supposed to do exactly, Esther?” I pressed on holding one hand on my necklace wishing that I had Kol to help me turn my necklace into a magic source before this happened.
The witch stomps forward grabbing my hands in hers beginning to channel my magic from me. “It will turn my children back into humans and then I will end them. Now if you don’t mind Raelyn…Coinunctum est vita.”
“What the hell are you channeling me!” I yanked my hands from hers quickly siphoning some of the power she contained in her veins. “Ossox…” I attempted to snap her neck but nothing happened.
She smirked, raising her hands. “They are against nature, girl. As are you! Per se qui e fractal tor, per se qui e total toi-“
“Phasmatos incendia circulum.” I cut her off quickly creating a circle of fire around her where she jumped away until she was standing in the middle. “I haven’t done anything to you. Why would you murder your own children?”
The original witch follows me around the circle with anger in her voice. “I have watched them all spill too much blood and live far too long. As for you no one should have as much power as you possess in your veins. I can’t let you and my children roam this Earth any longer. Naomia exum solvos.” She made the flame circle disappear.
“Silencio - ah!” I almost made her be silent and not able to perform another spell until someone vamped behind me biting into my neck lightly making me scream.
Esther raised her hand signaling her oldest son behind me. “Don’t bite her anymore, Finn. I can handle her from here.” She grabbed my face in her hands, mumbling one last spell before I passed out. “Corposris impetus…you should have helped me. I just might have spared you.”
By the time I opened my eyes again it was nightfall and I was in the middle of a circle with five torches burning around me. Lifting my head up I winced pressing a hand on my neck drawing my hand back seeing blood pouring out slowly making me light headed. “Crap that’s not good.”
Footsteps came towards me where I scotted upright yanking the small stake thankfully still hidden inside my boot. Hiding it behind my back I saw that it was Finn and Esther. “Can I kill her now, mother?”
“No. I’ll Handle the girl on my own once the spell is complete.” She instructed him looking back over her shoulder. “I must speak with the Bennett witches. Watch her until I return.”
Closing my eyes while Finn had his back turned to me I mumbled under my breath as quietly as I could needing to do a mind spell knowing that Klaus and I were still linked so hopefully he would find me before she killed them all. “Dic mihi, hva du vet-“
“What did you say, girl?” Finn asked, looking over at me.
Quickly coming up with a snarky reply to him. “Rot in hell, vampire. Klaus doesn’t deserve to die!”
“Oh don’t worry you will be joining him shortly after, bitch.” He growls, turning back the way he was.
Shutting my eyes trying to focus my racing mind on the hybrid I began the spell again repeating it over and over. “Dic mihi, hva du vet…..Dic mihi, hva du vet - Ah Klaus!” I screamed when Finn yanked me by my hair, choking me by the throat making me drop the stake that was in my other hand.
All the way back in the middle of town Klaus was close to tearing Damon apart for trying to kill Kol until Elijah came to the scene. “Leave him! We still need him, Niklaus.”
Klaus tilted his head at his brother. “What did mother do? What did she do, Elijah?” He gasped grabbing his head feeling pain for a brief moment until an image flashed through his mind.
“Dic mihi, hva du vet…..Dic mihi, hva du vet - Ah Klaus!” She screamed in his ear when Finn yanked her by her hair choking her by the throat.
Elijah quickly walked over to his brother grabbing his shoulder. “What happened, Niklaus?”
“It’s Rae….agh….our mother has her.” He gasped finally, shaking away the pain vamping in the direction of the woods, not bothering to wait for his brothers when the girl he cared about was on the line.
Clawing at Finn’s hand wrapped around my throat I was struggling for breath when Esther came back seeing what was happening. “I told you not to kill!”
“She was trying to escape, mother. This will ensure that she doesn’t try to stop us.” Finn fought his mother seconds before I heard three whooshing sounds seeing Elijah, Kol and Klaus standing outside the circle of salt.
Esther notices them. “My sons, come forward.”
Finn responded, still holding me in the air by my neck where I was close to black out. “Stay beside me.”
Esther reassured him by taking Finn’s hand right before he dropped me onto the dirt. “It's ok. They can't enter.”
Kol attempted to enter but it only caused the fire torches to grow higher and push him back. “That's lovely. We are stuck out here while the favorite son plays sacrificial lamb. How pathetic you are, Finn.”
“Be quiet, Kol. Your brother knows virtue you cannot even imagine.” She told him blankly.
Holding myself up on my hands and knees my vision was starting to blur in front of me. I could feel the blood coming from my neck and my neck was bruised for sure. “Nik….you got my message.” I croaked out crying in both fear and happiness.
“I did, Rae.” He stepped closer to the ring but the flames grew once more where he raised his hand stumbling backwards. “I’m going to get you out of there, I promise.”
Elijah glanced in my direction then went back to his mother. “Whatever you think of us, killing your own children would be an atrocity.”
Esther spat not fazed at what she was doing to them and to me. “My only regret is that I did no let you die a thousand years ago.”
“Enough. All this talk is boring me. End this now, mother, or I'll send you back to hell.” Klaus threatens her walking up to the edge of the line with his gaze shifting to my direction seeing that I was struggling. He could hear my heartbeat close to dying down. “But not before I tear you limb from limb for hurting her!”
Esther stepped closer to the edge knowing that they couldn’t get inside. “For a thousand years, I've been forced to watch you, felt the pain of every victim, suffered while you shed blood. Even you, Elijah, with your claim to nobility you're no better. All of you... you're a curse on this earth stretched out over generations. If you've come to plead for your life... I'm sorry. You've wasted your time.”
“Klaus, I need you to listen to me. I wish we had more time together. Because you are honestly everything I never knew I could have. I…I don’t know what I feel for you but I deeply care about you. So go live your life for me…Magia tollux de terras.” I started crying imagining that I never got to truly be with him. But he needed to live more than I did so that Caroline and the others could.
Klaus vamped forward not caring that the flames grew banging on the magical barrier crying some strong tears for me. “Raelyn! No, no, Rae. Don’t you dare do anything. Stop it, Rae….I deeply care for you too…”
“Magia tollux de terras……Magia tollux de terras.” I grunted forcing myself to my feet stumbling around with blood falling down onto my clothes as I walked towards Finn and Esther.
Grabbing Finn by his shoulder I limped in between the pair gripping Esther by the forearm where she winced sharply staring down at my red hand on both her and her son. “What the hell are you doing, girl!”
“Magia tollux de terras!” I declared gasping sharply feeling her energy running through her, but it was a lot more than I was ever used to. My eyes began rolling to the back of my head and I coughed out some blood from my mouth and nose. Black veins were appearing on my hands drawing her magical source from her.
Klaus banged the barrier again hearing my heart almost giving out. “Raelyn, stop it. You have to let go before it kills you - Raelyn!”
Esther begins to panic, feeling her magic going somewhere else. “No. Sisters, do not abandon me!”
“Mother!” The flames are stronger and Finn catches Esther vamping them away.
Once they were gone I couldn’t stand on my own where I collapsed onto the dirt and salt beneath me. My blonde hair was dirty and stained with blood from where my neck was still bleeding from Finn’s bite. Someone vamped forward lifting my head where I struggled to meet the blue gaze of the hybrid. “Rae, Rae, hey, hey. Look at me please. I need you to keep your eyes open for me.”
“Nik…” I wrapped my fingers around one of his wrists, not able to keep my eyes open any longer.
He bit into his other wrist, shoving it into my mouth not caring to waste a second. “Drink Rae. Drink now, I need you. Raelyn!” I gulped down what I could before I passed out in his arms with my heart fading off briefly.

40 - The Saltzman Merge
Tumblr media
Part 41
Family is More than Blood
@secretdreamlandmentality
Klaus, Caroline and I had hitched our asses on the nearest plane we could get on to get back to Mystic Falls. Caroline had called Alairc and told him what was apparently happening at the school. Klaus slammed the brakes on the car and we all vamped inside the old boarding house. “What are we going to do?”
“You need to take your magic back for starters.” Klaus glanced down at me since I was standing right beside him.
Rolling my eyes at my husband I snapped. “I already told you it’s not going to happen, Klaus.”
“You’ve been through the merge with your brother. It nearly killed you both mentally and physically. And now Elizabeth and Josette are facing the same curse. So you’re telling me you are going to sit back and watch where either one of them will be dead when this is over.” Klaus growled in my face when I lifted my head up to his.
Crossing my arms over my chest I scoffed at him. “Klaus, even if I wanted to do something to stop it. I can’t. They are twins.”
“And if non twins merge then things go bad.” The three of us turned our heads hearing someone else entering the room we were in. Footsteps came around the corner revealing my brother Jacob with Hayley and Andrea.
Caroline looked between our group. “That’s why Luke died when he faced Kai. So what is our plan to stop Dark Josie?”
“I don’t know, Care. Let’s just pray that the kids have a plan already in place.” I shrugged my shoulders looking at my friend.
Caroline ran her hands through her hair vamping out of the room. “I’m going to find Ric and I’ll meet up with later.”
“Jacob, please convince your sister to take her magic back and stop Dark Josette.” Klaus whipped his head around pointing a finger at my twin brother.
Jacob raised his hands up. “Klaus, It’s her decision. And like she said we can’t fight Josie on our own. Only the Saltzman twins can change their fate.”
“Hope came up with a plan B. But it involves them still having to merge.” Andrea stepped away from her parents.
I gasped feeling a tightening in my chest at hearing that horrible reality. I spun on my feet rushing into the nearest office room slamming the wooden door behind me. Gripping the desk I sucked in a sharp breath picturing Jacob's body laying on the dirt ground in front of me. “Rae, Rae, hey are you okay?”
“J…I'll be fine. I just need a minute.” I shake my head, closing my eyes tightly. Even though I didn’t have my magic at the moment I felt like I could feel his magic coursing in my veins.
He touched my shoulder. “I know this is traumatic for you. But we won't let them die. Either of them.”
“We can’t guarantee that. And Klaus won't leave me alone about my magic - I won't take it back until I am ready.” I huffed where my brother turned me around to face him.
He pulled me into his chest holding me as close as he could. “Ssh I've got ya, Raelyn. He will understand your reasoning at some point. Now we can do our best to convince Josie to not kill Lizzie. And I'll be there for you through it all.”
“Thank you, J.” I sniffed through some tears removing my fingers from clinging onto the fabric of his shirt after we broke the hug.
Jacob and I left the office seeing Ethan and Missy standing in the hallway arguing over something. “Ethan, you have to go.”
“I am not going anywhere, M & M.” He said back to her.
My third daughter huffed, throwing her hands up. “Ethan, this is a dangerous family situation. I don’t want you to get hurt in the crossfire.”
“I don’t want to leave because after I do I’ll forget everything. That isn’t right. We are supposed to be together as a couple.”
Missy raised her hand threatening him. “E, I can compel you to leave in case you forget. If you won’t go willingly and accept that I am doing this to protect your human life.”
“As your boyfriend I should be by your side for whatever dangers you face. I am not leaving, Melissa!” Ethan snapped at her before we heard some screams coming from the gym.
Jacob and Missy vamped in the direction of the gym. Ethan and I shared the same look before I clasped his hand in mine and vamped him into the gym with us. “She’s right that it's dangerous but we can just compel you later.”
“Well, my selfish sister didn't show up. Who am I gonna kill? Should it be... vampires? Maybe witches? How about some werewolves?” Entering the gym room I saw everyone in the school standing around a ring with Josie dressed in all black.
Hope, Alina and Missy all looked at Andrea before they all ran forward and launched themselves in the air and over the ring railing. The four of them did backflips landing in the center of the ring, down on one knee until they slowly rose challenging her. “Why not try all three?”
“Hope, you wait. Jackson whatever happens keep Xavier out of danger.” Alina looks over her shoulder at her werewolf husband holding theif infant son ti his chest outside the ring pit.
Andrea raised her hands blasting Josie who was glaring at the four of us. “Immobilus.”
“Real mature, Drea. Regelo.” Josie whispered, snapping her fingers, unfreezing herself.
Josie throws her hand forward and launches the three other girls against the ring railing. Missy grunted, forcing herself to her feet and casting a spell on her cousin. “Tenebris lapsus.”
“Ah!” Josie groans holding her head throwing her on the harsh floor where Missy called out to Alina who was behind her.
Alina clasped Andrea’s hand in hers siphoning off of her for more power than she could create on her own, especially since she was still recovering from giving birth a few days ago. “Lecutio maxima.” She hits Josie with an electric bolt of energy knocking her down onto her back.
“Phasmatos Incendia circulum.” Josie throws a fire spell surrounding the three witches until Hope climbs over the railing and undoes the spell.
“Inteo bulla…” Hope snaps her fingers creating a boundary spell around everybody outside the ring. Josie throws a blast of red energy yet she throws one back that was a strength of blue energy. The pair fought against one another but the Saltzman siphon was stronger using dark magic, throwing the two into their own separate corners.
“You're not even fighting back.” Josie grumbled under her breath.
Hope stands beside her sister’s and cousin in the opposite corner. “Neither are you. I know that you're in there, Josie.”
Josie launched her hand forward, throwing a fireball at her. “Give it up, Hope. What's it gonna take to get it through to your thick wolf skull that I'm Josie now? Incendia!”
Hope jumps out of the way quickly as possible and gets back in a fighting stance against her. “You are not Josie. I know that you think she's weak, but I know the truth... she's strong. You're strong. No one could shoulder the burdens that you carry. And you're always there for your friends when they need you. So, please, Jo, we really need you right now.”
“Enough of this drivel! What are you waiting for? kill the Tribrid.” The necromancer declared getting in Josie’s face.
Josie leaned against the ring railing. “Shut up. Everybody, shut up!…Hope?”
“Jo, is that you?” Hope gasped in relief.
Yet Josie’s eyes turned black again, raising her hand and lifting Hope up in the air over part of the ring that had wooden sticking out of it. “Did you really think that you'd be the one that would bring out my good side? Ascendo. So, any last words for your tombstone?”
Hope grunts nervously looking at me and her father. “I know you're in there, Josie. Fight.”
“I should have mentioned this earlier. But black really isn't your color.” Whipping my head around I heard Lizzie’s voice from behind me, seeing she was siphoning MG saving Hope from falling on the stake wood.
Josie dropped her hand. “You're late to your own funeral.”
“No. I am right on time to kick your ass.” Lizzie declared to her twin, making everyone cheer in the crowd. Lizzie and Josie entered the center of the ring with the rest of us standing on the outer edges.
“Sanguinem generis fiantus. Sanguinem desimilus, sanguinem generis fiantus. Sanguinem desimilus,
sanguinem generis fiantus. Sanguinem desimilus... “ Lizzie and Josie cut their hands and intertwined hands chanting the spell.
MG asked, looking at all the Mikaelson’s. “Is she winning?”
“We won't know until one of them wakes up.” I clasped my brother's hand tightly in mine.
It was a few more minutes of the twins chatting until they gasped and their bodies collapsed to the floor hard. The gym door bursts open revealing Alaric and Caroline rushed forward holding each twin in their laps. “Oh my god!” Caroline gasped through tears sobbing until Josie opened her eyes and she got to her feet.
It was a few hours afterward and everyone else in the school except for our little group knew that Lizzie was in fact still alive. Everyone had gathered inside the office and the second Lizzie had suddenly awoken on the long couch. She frantically looked at me. “Where’s Josie?”
“She’s alive and she thinks she won. Hope had a plan B thankfully that Andrea explained to me after the Merge ended.” I answered the blonde standing by my husband.
“The potion she made wasn't just to keep your mind separate from Jo's. It linked your life to Landon's temporarily. So when you died, he died, too. But since he's immortal, you came back when he did.” MG went in to explain more.
Alaric sat down with his daughter on the couch. “Hope thinks we can get Josie back.”
Lizzie asked. “How?”
“That's where your boy MG came in the clutch.” Kaleb high fixed him.
MG focused on the siphon witch. “I helped Hope do an old-fashioned vampire head dive. That's why you had to go through with the Merge. Hope needed Josie to be vulnerable. Josie's shields were down, so I sent Hope into Josie's mind. And then I juked her out of there before anybody knew what we were doing.”
“Why didn't anyone tell me?” Lizzie raised a brow.
Alaric answers her question. “Hope couldn't risk Josie figuring out the plan when the two of your minds melded in the Merge.”
MG shrugged his shoulders smiling. “Plus, we knew you weren't gonna run away for real. Heroes save the day, even when it's hard, right?”
Lizzie put the pieces together looking at me and Klaus. “So... Hope's in Josie's mind?”
“Yes she is but there’s more than that.” I glanced over to Alaric who unlocked a secret space that was hidden behind the bookshelf in the headmaster office. The door creaked open showing Hope sleeping in the position of sleeping beauty from the Disney movie. “She unfortunately won’t wake up yet and we don’t know why.”
Klaus instructed the blonde Satlzman. “Elizabeth until she returns no one outside of this room can know you are alive.”
“But what if Hope never comes back?” Lizzie questions very concerned.
Holding my husband’s hand I eyed Nik who didn’t bother answering her question, not having any answer that wouldn’t frighten her. “If she doesn’t come back in time. We will come up with another plan. It is not something to worry about for now.” She nodded where I focused my attention back on one of my oldest daughters.

48 - Not The Only Broken One
Tumblr media
Part 49
Family is More than Blood
@secretdreamlandmentality
Raelyn’s Pov
Entering the apartment building that Cami lived in I found her apartment opening the door until I smacked into a barrier spell. “The hell?” Placing a hand on my forehead.
“Sony Rae, I got a new landlord when my last one left the city.” Cami came around the corner.
I raised a brow. “Who's your landlord now?”
“Me. Hi Raelyn.” Davina came to stand beside her. “Come in.”
I nodded, stepping over the threshold of her apartment doorway. Moving into the living room with the two other woman I came into contact with Freya who I wasn't expecting to see. “What are you doing here?”
“Cami isn't a witch. So she felt we needed to come and offer our assistance.” She answered me.
Crossing my arms over my chest. “Assistance of convincing me to not give up my magic right?”
“Raelyn..” Cami trailed off.
Holding a hand up I didn't want to hear anymore of this nonsense. “No, I'm done hearing about this. My magic has brought me nothing but heartache these past few weeks and I can't take it anymore.”
“Will you just hear us out first. Without you and your heretic power I would be dead.” Cami responded.
Freya sat her drink glass down on the table beside the couch. “Hayley told me what you did for her to become a hybrid. And what you did for her entire pack.”
“When we met you showed me you didn't have to be a monster just because you had so much power at your fingertips.” Davina gave me a smile. “Why would you want to destroy a part of yourself that has created so much good?”

“Yes, Raelyn. I'd like to know your response too.” The four of us all turned our heads around seeing my husband standing outside the doorway.
I sent him a glare. “What are you doing here, Klaus!”
“Following your trail since you haven't been yourself lately. Now where in the bloody hell is the hunting knife containing your magic?” He spat back to me.
Freya rose from her chair creating it out of thin air. “Cami gave it to me for safe keeping for your information brother.”
“See, it's fine. Now you can go back and watch our youngest kids.” I snapped at the hybrid male.
Klaus huffed. “Rae, I won't entertain this tone from you for much longer. You need to realize that my intentions are only trying to help you.”
“I don’t recall asking for you to come here. In fact you are supposed to be at the school since the first headmistress isn’t there. They need a headmaster there if something goes wrong. So head back to Mystic Falls please.” I sent him a glare not wanting him to be here. His paranoid mind never bothered me until this moment. He normally had good reasons to be paranoid sometimes except right now.
The hybrid steps forward smacking into the barrier, hands gripping the doorway. “Camille invite me inside right now!”
“I don’t have to follow your commands, Klaus. Raelyn is my sire.” Cami snapped at the Mikaelson hybrid.
Freya raised her hand waving it in the air. “Okay, I think we should take this conversation somewhere else. Before we all end up fighting and things get violent like most Mikaelson conversations tend to happen.”
“Raelyn, just talk to me for a minute.” Klaus shifts his blue orbs onto my gaze in a begging tone.
I briefly paused before answering him. “Fine, let’s go.” He stepped away from the doorway and I moved forward stepping over the threshold vamping down the hallway. Klaus vamped after me leaving the others not to be able to hear our conversation.
Klaus and I were strolling the streets of Chicago since he had decided that this would be the first place he would take me to. He was holding my hand in his and he could hear my heart calmy beating in my chest since this was before I had turned into a vampire. “So tell me again why you decided Chicago first over New Orleans?”
“New Orleans is my favorite city, you are right on that. But I once found this city more beautiful before I ever discovered it.” He responded to me, squeezing my hand in his.
I made a face at the hybrid. “Okay so what do you want to show me?”
“There’s some great things about this city. But I want to spoil you. That is my goal for this trip.” He sent me that signature smile of his so brightly.
Shaking my head the hybrid i still wasn’t used to his romantic gestures towards me. It wasn’t as if I had the option of calling up my mother or father for dating advice since then that would only stir up trouble, finding me. Especially Uncle Joshua. Klaus walked closely beside me while I was window shopping the stores we walked past. “You’ve been staring at that dress for the last five minutes. So we’re getting it.”
“Klaus, no. Just because I look at it for long doesn’t mean I’ll like it.” Whipping my head around I stopped him before he started to go inside the store. The dress that we had been referring to was a dark green with short sleeves and a slit on the right side. The length only reached to the manachens knees.
Klaus didn’t bother and held open the door for me so I went inside to the dress with a woman who worked there coming over. “Can I help you, ma’am?”
“Yes. Uh do you have this dress in a six?” I asked her softly.
She replied. “Yes we do.”
“We’ll take it.” Klaus fired out an answer before I could get a response from my own mouth. The woman walked away when he gave her his card leaving us alone briefly. Crossing my arms over my chest I sent him a half glare. “Don’t give me that look, Rae. I already have ordered some lunch from that chicken place you like too.”
I sniped back at my boyfriend. “You went through my food delivery receipts. What’s next buying me 50 pairs or new shoes?”
“If that’s what you wish then yes.” He shrugged his shoulders not fazed by how creepy that might come off as to outsiders.
Placing my hands over my face I throw my head back failing to hold in my laughter. “Nik, how am I ever going to handle being with you?”
“You’ll learn to love me in time, siphon queen.” He snags me forward, grabbing the belt loops of my jeans and tugging me against his chest, smiling.
Draping my arms over his shoulders I booped my nose with his leaning up on my toes. “If you’ll lucky you just might get me forever.”
“I’d do anything to have always and forever with you, Raelyn.” He brought my lips up to meet his in a gentle and slow kiss until the woman with my dress came back and we headed to pick up his lunch order.
Standing out on the balcony of the old Mikaelson compound that allowed anyone to look out over the city of New Orleans. My hands rested on the metal railing knowing Elijah would leave us alone since he was the only member who still lived here full time. “You know the point of you agreeing to talk to me implies that you would say something.”
“Yes I agreed to speak with you. But that didn’t mean I would begin the conversation since you will just cut me off and tell me the same thing you’ve repeatedly told me about how I should take my magic back.” I throw my head back feeling his eyes burning in the back of my head.
He was leaning in the doorway arms beginning his back simply just watching me in the bright glow of the sunlight and how the wind threw my hair around yet even when it was a knotted ess cause of it he would see nothing but beauty from me. “I am only speaking the truth, love. You shouldn’t have to hide the other part of yourself like I was forced to by my mother a thousand years ago.”
“You still don’t understand it. I choose to give up my magic whereas your mother forced the Hybrid Curse upon you.” Stomping up to my husband I got up in his face. “My brother hates me now because I refuse to use dark magic to let him and Hayley have more babies.”
Klaus natches the knife hanging off the belt loop of my jeans. “Jacob, can’t truly hate you. I don’t think that mate has a hateful bone in his body. Now please I am begging you take it back. Not to please me, not for Jacob or Hayley, but for yourself because I know you.”
“Nik, I am not ready. The Hollow got inside my mind and made me see a version of myself that I didn’t even know existed inside of my brain.”
“Fructose Ispiritus. Say it Raelyn!” He raised his tone at me.
The veins and fangs began appearing where I shoved him against the wall with vamp speed baring my teeth. “I said no, Niklaus! And you want to know why look into my mind and see.”
“Raelyn..” He trails off.
I shout back at him. “Do it!”
Once the brightness disappeared I opened my eyes all the way to see a mirror image of myself. The figure of me had my hair loose but the ends were dead in black. The rest of my clothing was almost all black too. “The Hollow isn't fully gone. Her power and soul is now inside you.”
“You’re me…what do you want?” I blinked my eyes a couple of times feeling my mind was betraying me.
The dark version of me smirked. “I want you to stop hiding behind this weaker version of yourself. You’ve proven that you are stronger than anyone thought you’d be. Stop hiding who you truly are."
“That’s what this is truly about. You want me to be a bad person after I’ve told my kids to not appear as monsters.” I bite my tongue at the thought.
Dark Raelyn flipped her hair at me. “Just consider how much more Klaus would love you if you let him see the darker parts of you.”
My husband gasped, holding my face in his hands just scanning over my features. For once in his life Klaus Mikaelson was at a loss for words. He knew he was broken by some degree, yet it baffled the thousand year immortal to see a much darker side of the women he loved. Raelyn has darkness; he knew that when she flipped her humanity switch. Except this other vision of her was the witch side of her that he hadn’t come into contact with. “Rae…I…I’m sorry I didn’t know.”
“She’s why I refuse to take my siphon magic back.” I croaked through heavy tears that cascaded down my face, nails clutching onto his forearms for dear life. “I…I thought I wasn’t broken anymore. Nik, what….what do I do!”
Klaus tilted his head, wiping away the tears that he could. He buried my head into his chest and wrapped his arms around my shaking form.  “Rae Rae, you have nothing to fear as long as I am here. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again that you are not broken  Alina - this better be life or death because your mother needs my support at this moment.”
“Sorry, dad. The problem is that Landon somehow got sent and trapped in a prison world.” Our second oldest werewitch daughter explained through his cell phone once answering her.
Lifting my head up slightly from his black henley shirt my husband growled. “Bloody hell.”
“Alina, what else is going on?” I questioned her through some sniffles
“Hope is determined to get him back and now she’s looking for the Ascendent. I’d suggest you guys get here before she nearly burns the school down to rescue him.”
Separating from my husband I take the phone from his hand. “We’ll be on our way in a few. If things start to go sideways I give you permission to use your powers by any means necessary.” Hanging up the phone I scooped Josette’s hunting knife off the ground, sliding it back down into the pocket of my jeans. Klaus moved towards the doorway clasping my hand in his heading back home.

42 - Happy Valentines Day
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part 43
Family is More than Blood
What suggestions do y’all have to make more chapters to this story?? I hope to make it longer than the first book but I am struggling with how to do that so send me anything big or small it doesn’t matter.
@secretdreamlandmentality
“Rae, where are we going?” Klaus asked me while I was dragging him by his forearm across the wooden deck of the large cruise ship that we had all gotten on. Hayley and Jaocb were off somewhere celebrating their proposal to each other.
We had put the kids to bed for the night giving us the rare chance to be alone just the two of us. So I didn’t see any problem with dragging him through the ship to do something from one of my favorite movies. “Don’t worry you’ll like it.”
“Raelyn, what is running through that head of yours?” I paused in my steps once we had reached the point at the front of the ship. Klaus tilted his head to the side in curiosity when I placed my hands on the railing looking over my shoulder at my husband.
I grinned brightly, blurting out. “Titanic me.”
“Raelyn, I have lived through the Titanic sinking. I don’t understand your excitement in such a film.” Klaus sent me a confused look.
Glaring at him I threw my hands up in the air wishing he could understand. Yes I knew it was a horrible thing that actually happened and wasn’t just a movie idea someone thought of. But everyone was invested in the love story that made up for it. “It’s a tragedy, I know Klaus. But I am in awe of the story of Jack and Rose. So just pretend with me.”
“Alright heretic queen. Whatever you want you shall have.” Klaus caved in stepping up behind me once I had stepped up onto the railing holding my hands onto it feeling the sea airbrushing in my face. I smiled watching him step up against the back of me brushing my hair to the other side so he could whisper in my right ear. “Step up on the railing now.”
Stepping up I sighed and he stepped up right behind me. His hands went to hold my waist and I slowly removed my hands from the railing. I felt slightly nervous. “You’re not gonna let me fall right, Nik?”
“Don’t worry, love. You know I’d never let anything bad happen to you.” He responded by moving my arms out away from my sides and he intertwined our hands together just like in the scene from the movie.
Shifting my gaze down to the water that was splashing against the ship. We were standing on the railing and there was a bright orange sunset rising beside our heads. “I was thinking that you would have said we are already vampires and nothing can hurt us now.”
“I could have said that yes. But I figured that my second thought sounded much more romantic and that works better since it is getting close to Valentine’s Day.” Klaus said into my ear and we just remained this way for a little longer. Once the sun had set he stepped down offering me his hand to help me down and not trip.
Closing the gap between us I wrapped my arms around his neck suddenly kissing him. “Thank you for this, Klaus. You are quite the romantic.”
“You’re welcome, Raelyn. I love you.” He wrapped his arms around my waist tugging me against his chest. He leaned down capturing my lips onto his until the kiss got heated and his fingers from one of his hands threatened into my loose blonde hair.
I moaned into the kiss gripping onto the fabric of his black leather jacket. We kept kissing one another slowly until we broke it resting his forehead against mine. “I love you too, Klaus.”
“So do you have any requests for Valentine’s Day?” He questioned me with that boyish grin.
Shaking my head I wasn’t concerned with it being anything special. Everyday with him is special and I wouldn’t change it. He could just give me a box of chocolate instead of a fancy dinner and I would feel the same level of love that he had shown me on our first date. “Nothing in particular, Nik. I have everything right here with you forever.”
Rubbing the sleep from my eyes I heard footsteps coming in the room. Lifting myself up on the pillows seeing Klaus coming towards me with a tray of chocolate pancakes that he sat down on my lap once I had shifted to sit upright. “Morning, Rae.”
“Morning, what made you do all this for me? I know you normally choose not to cook for yourself.” I asked him stabbing a piece of pancake with my fork.
He sat down on the edge of the bed. “You do know what this week is right?”
“Yeah sure….” I swallowed the bite in my mouth but I clearly still hadn’t put the pieces together like he clearly had before I had.
The hybrid raised a brow. “Valentines day.”
“Which is on Wednesday.” I replied to him not seeing anything wrong with my answer.
Klaus chuckled, covering his mouth with his hand trying to not make me too embarrassed once I had realized it. “Uh Raelyn. Today is Wednesday.”
“It is?…gosh I feel so embarrassed that I totally spaced this.” I nearly choked on the bite of a pancake in my mouth. My face began turning red in embarrassment at the thought. Dropping my fork I couldn’t believe that I didn’t realize that it was already that day of the week. Hope was slowly recovering from just waking up a few days ago and Josie was adjusting to having no magic since she had put hers away like I had. I had yet to return my magical ability back too.
Klaus gives me a look of sympathy knowing that I didn’t mean to forget about it. Running a school full of supernatural students was no easy task. “Raelyn, don’t worry about it. I already have something in mind so you’ll just need to be downstairs and ready around seven.”
“Klaus, have I mentioned how much I love you? Because I really should be doing something for you today too.” I sat the plate on the nightstand getting to my feet before he made a move to leave our bedroom in the mansion.
He held up a hand stopping me in my tracks towards my hybrid lover. “Seriously Rae, I have told you too many times that I don’t need you to do anything. You are everything that I could ever want and need just by being you. No gifts required.”
“Okay…good cause I think giving birth to six supernatural kids is enough. And actually that means you should owe me six big thank yous.” I teased feeling bold with using my children as a sort of bargaining tool figuring he would cave like he always did when I ever asked him to do something.
Klaus comes forward closing the gap between us cradling my face in his hands kissing my forehead vamping out of the room. “Then it sounds like I have some planning to do before tonight. I’ll see you later, love.”
For the rest of my day I didn’t do much of anything since everything at the school seemed to be going rather well and we hadn’t had a monster attack recently either. I had looked through my closet finding a short red dress tat could be paired with some white tenna shoes. My hair was curled on the ends. Walking down the staircase my eyes meet the charming hybrid standing at the bottom. “Don’t you look stunning.”
“You don’t clean up to bad yourself, Mikaelson. So what do you have planned for tonight?” Placing my hand in his he helped me down the last step.
He shakes his no avoiding the answer to my question. “No spoilers. You know that spoils the fun of the evening mystery.” He was true to his word as always not telling me anything. Ww drove outside of our normal area and outside of town going to a restaurant that I recognize from the moment we walk in.
“Did you take me back to where we had our first date?” I asked him as he pulled out my chair before sitting across from me.
The waiter came and we actually got our same orders as last time. Klaus reached inside his suit pocket holding up two tickets for something. “Yes I did. Rebekah and Kol thought this would be a good thing to end the evening. I don't quite understand the concept though.”
“You've never ice skated. That's crazy to think that it's something neither of us have done.” I tilted my head smiling at the idea since it sounded fun. We had gotten our meal and ate in comfortable silence before we left for the rink.
Klaus had payed upfront and we laced up the skates having the whole ring to ourselves upon his compulsion request of the owner. Stepping out onto the ice where I tried moving forward but I did the splits falling on my butt. “Ow! Okay harder than it looks in the movies.”
“Let's try it together.” Klaus offers me his hands tugging me up to stand where I hit his chest. He pushed away from the wall and we were actually moving around the ice rather well for a few brief moments until Klaus’s long legs got tangled with one of my shorter ones and we tumbled down onto the harsh ground. Klaus grunted through his teeth landing his body weight on top of mine, till he put his hands on either side of me holding himself up. “Urgh! I should have known Rebekah and Kol would have terrible ideas.”
“Don’t give them too harsh of a phone call later. We tried something new we are both clearly terrible at and that’s all that matters. Plus we had some fun. I always have fun when I’m with you.” I brushed hair out of my face, chuckling with me laying underneath him on cold ice.
Klaus sat down helping me sit up beside him. He draped his arm over my shoulder and I nuzzled my face in the crook of his neck. “I love you, Raelyn. In my thousand years in this life I finally see enjoyment in this holiday.”
“Love you too, Niklaus. You have given me everything I ever wanted. And I know that everything we do together will feel just as epic as the first time we kissed.” Kissing his cheek he leaned his head more against mine. For that one moment we weren’t the hybrid and heretic. We were just Klaus and Raelyn living as close to our former human lives as possible. These moments would always be rare for us, so we just had to enjoy every second we could.

11 - Intense Family Reunion
Tumblr media
Part 12
Gemini Runaway
@dragonixfrye
Shrugging one a nice white tee shirt with flowers on it I stared at myself in the mirror. The v neck part of the shirt hung a little lower than I cared for but I liked the pairing with some ripped blue jeans and some orange tenna shoes. My hair was in a braid thrown over my right shoulder finally paired with my brother’s necklace as always. “That text can’t be from my mother. She has no idea where I am right. Yeah she couldn’t possibly have broken my hiding spell.”
Exiting my bedroom in the Mikaelson’s house I didn’t bother with looking around considering I had a pretty good idea how the house was shaped figuring I wouldn’t run into anything expected. Twirling my necklace in my hands I couldn’t shake the nerves in the pit of my stomach. “Worse case scenario if she does find me then she’ll be so angry with me. She’ll take me back to Uncle Joshua….but I can’t face that. I won’t be their leader - oh god but I have a sort of family here now too. I don’t - I don’t want to run from this life.”
“Don’t make me do this to you again, Elijah!” Whipping my head around, I ran into the room that Klaus was holding his coffins to see that he was holding down someone and in his other hand was a silver dagger.
“Klaus, what on earth are you doing?” I called out to him where he dropped the dagger onto the wooden floor seeing that I was standing in the doorway.
He gasped, dropping his hands at his sides. “Raelyn, it’s just family business.”
“Niklaus…” The man he was holding down was wearing a black suit and tie when his gaze met mine. “Who exactly is this girl?”
The hybrid placed a hand on the man’s shoulder gesturing with his freehand in my direction. “Brother this is Raelyn Lane. She is a siphon witch from a coven called the Gemini. She’s been helping me to reunite us with the rest of our family. And Raelyn, this is my brother Elijah.”
“Hi, it’s nice to meet you.” I nervously waved not expecting to meet another family member of his so soon.
The man named Elijah moved past his brother picking up my hand and kissing the palm of it before dropping it when I blushed shifting my gaze to Klaus seeing that he was clenching his jaw. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Raelyn.”
“So that is my brother who has been very loyal to me, not as loyal as Rebekah. But still loyal. Also I did manage to get you your buffalo chicken. It's being set on the table now.” Elijah walked off when the doorbell had rang when Klaus came over to me.
“Thank you.” My phone vibrates in my back pocket.
“Who’s calling you this late?” He clearly noticed that I wasn’t going to answer.
“It’s not a big deal. I’ll answer it later. Let’s go eat, I'm starving.” Throwing my hands up I headed towards the dining room seeing that there were five chairs with a table full of food, along with a blonde girl that was obviously compelled by him to serve the meal.
Elijah opened the front door declaring to the two of us. “Niklaus, our guests have arrived.”
“Damon. Stefan. Elijah tells me, you seek an audience. Very bold. Let's discuss the terms of our agreement like civilised men, shall we?” Klaus asked the pair coming over to me pulling out my chair letting me sit down in the chair beside his. “Here you go, Rae.”
Elijah told them simply. “It's better to indulge him.”
Stefan grumbled back. “I didn't come here to eat, Klaus. Fact, I didn't want to come here at all. But I was told, I had to cause you would hear us out.”
Klaus smirked, resting his hands down on the back of my chair nodding to the blonde who pulled out his chair for him where he sat down threatening them. “Well, we can sit and eat or I can reach down your throats and pull out your insides. The choice is yours.”
Eyeing the plate in front of me the other three came over to the table where I reached towards my plate of food hearing Elijah respond. “Ladies first, Raelyn.”
“Thank you, love.” Damon mimicked Klaus’s accent when the blonde poured him some more drink.
Klaus pointed his fork in Stefan’s direction the he shifted his gaze my direction seeing that my fingers were covered with sauce where I grabbed the napkin not really realizing how hungry I was, my magic normally didn’t drain me so bad. “You lost your appetite….it’s seems Raelyn might be able to finish your whole meal along with her own.”
“Sorry -“ I closed my mouth seeing that Klaus simply raised a brow at me in warning to me always apologizing to him. “This is really good, I can't help it.”
Damon warns his little brother. “Eat. I thought we agreed that we would leave the grumpy Stefan at home.”
Stefan began eating after that, making Klaus respond. “That's the spirit. Isn't it nice? Five of us dining together? Such a treat. Is this what you had in mind when you pulled the dagger from my brother?”
Damon took a drink from his glass. “Well, I know how he felt about you, so I figured the more, the merrier ... .I see you took the same idea inviting your little magic drainer.”
“Well, Elijah and I have had our share of quarrels over the century. But we always make it through.” Klaus leaned back in his chair tilting his head in my direction. “As for me inviting Raelyn. She lives in my home and I am a gentleman. It seemed cruel to not invite her to dinner as well.”
Tearing off some meat from a piece of chicken I lifted my gaze up seeing that Klaus was now trying to hold back a laugh while looking at me. “What’s that look for, Nik?”
“You have something right there…” He leans forward wiping something off my nose with his thumb chuckling that it was some buffalo sauce. “I can’t take you anywhere, love.”
“I guess not.” Sending him a smile reaching over and flicking a fry in his face.
He made a face when he managed to catch it using vampire speed, clicking his tongue at me. “Don’t play with your food, Ms. Lane. Because you should know I would win.”
“I’d like to see you try without using your powers.” I challenged him by bending my fork back and launching a piece of chicken at him.
Klaus raised his hands behind his head catching the chicken in his mouth watching me about to bend my fork back until he warned me. “If you keep it up I might throw you on this table and tickle you until you beg for mercy.”
“You wouldn’t dare.” I pointed the fork at him leaning closer.
He scooted to the edge of the chair with our faces inches from one another. “Oh but I would, little witch.” His blue eyes locked onto mine and I parted my lips completely taken by his presence. It was getting rather hard for me to not just lean forward and kiss him, but I kept my emotions hidden too afraid that he might not feel the same or that I might have to run.
“Excuse me, can we get back to the meal or do you two want to go take it to the bedroom?” Damon asked, causing us to break away from one another.
Elijah sat his fork down. “Niklaus, must you want to ravish the poor girl at the dinner table. I say Rebekah would find this so uncomfortable.”
Stefan pointed his finger at Klaus. “Kind of like you and Rebekah, right? Where is she, by the way? Last I checked she was still daggered because you were afraid to face her.”
Klaus rolled his eyes leaning back in his chair and I leaned back in mine. “If you're referring to the fact that Rebekah knows I killed our mother, I've already come clean to Elijah.”
Damon warned him a second time. “Hey, Stef, remember when you killed dad? Might want to dial down the judgment until dessert.”
“We're here to make a deal, Damon. Doesn't mean we need to kiss his ass for seven courses.” He told his older brother not to care.
Damon sighed, glancing my direction. “I'm just saying we have a long evening ahead of us. Pace yourself…..plus he might send his little witch on you and she could blow your brains out.”
“I’m not an enemy, Damon.” I stabbed my fork in another chicken shoving it in my mouth feeling my phone vibrating in my pocket once more.
Elijah asked simply. “Stefan. Where is the lovely Elena tonight?”
Stefan looks to his brother. “I don't know. Ask Damon.”
Whipping my head around to Klaus I heard him laughing holding his fork in front of his face. “I'm sorry, you've missed so much. Uh- trouble in paradise.”
Stefan sniped at him. “One more word about Elena and this dinner's over.”
Klaus continues to laugh silently to Damon’s response. “You know what, probably best just to keep Elena in the do not discuss pile.”
“You’ve got to be kidding me…shut up.” I grumble under my breath pulling out my phone seeing that there was almost ten phone calls from that number.
Klaus put his hands together looking between the boys. “It's just the allure of the Petrova doppelgänger, still so strong. What do you say, brother? Should we tell them about Tatia?”
Elijah asked his brother. “Now why should we discuss matters long since resolved?”
Klaus threw his hands up looking my way reading the screen of my phone. “Well, given their shared affection for both Elena and Katerina, I think our guests might be curious to learn about the originator of the Petrova line.”
“I’ll be right back, sorry to interrupt dinner.” I rose from my chair when the caller came up again on my phone. Walking into the hallway I pressed the phone to my ear. “Jo, I’m sorry I’ve been ignoring your calls. I've been busy. What’s wrong?”
“Raelyn, it’s me.” The voice that came back through made my whole body stiffen.
Closing my eyes I sucked in a shaky breath not expecting her to be the one to get Jo’s phone number. “Mom…how the hell did you get my number?”
“I found Jo. Please just let me meet with you and explain what happened. I meant to tell you and your brother the truth, there just wasn’t enough time. And then you willingly did the merge I just-“ I cut off her excuses.
“Don’t give me a crappy apology, mom. You had twenty two years to tell us the truth but you didn’t do shit. You sacrificed your own son, my brother…my twin brother to die. There is no apology in the world that will make up for what you have done. As far as I am concerned we are no longer family and I never want to see you and dad ever again!”
My mother tried once again. “Raelyn, please. Let me speak with you. Before Joshua comes and forces you to do something you will regret.”
“I will never become the new leader of our insane coven, you hear me. I will never ever trust you again and if you come after me I will make you suffer!” I growled into the phone slightly surprised that I wanted vengeance. Normally I wasn’t violent but maybe there was a part of my brother’s dead spirit that I didn’t know about.
She begged me right before I hung up the phone, deleting the phone number in my phone heading back into the room. “Rae, I can protect you. You are my child and you have no idea what he will do. I’m going to find you - I’m coming to Mystic Falls-“
“Where are you manners, brother? We forgot dessert.” Elijah takes the cover off a plate a blonde woman is carrying. Two silver daggers lie on the plate.
Klaus asked, glancing in my direction seeing that I was standing beside the wall confused. “What have you done?”
Elijah walked closer to him explaining. “What have you done? You see I've learned not to trust your vulgar promises, Klaus. We're doing this on my terms now.” Moments later I noticed someone enter to stand beside him.
“Kol.” Klaus gasped at the stranger with dark brown hair and eyes.
Kol responded. “Long time, brother.”
Someone else vamp sped into the room stealing a dagger from the tray when Klaus backed away stabbing him in his hand. “Finn, don't!” Finn was shown to have hazel eyes from what I could tell so quickly.
He attempted to vamp speed away until I saw Rebekah holding the other dagger. “Rebekah?”
She stabbed him with a dagger in the lower part of his stomach making him groan in pain. “This is for our mother.”
Klaus falls back into Kol's arms and he restrains him. Elijah looks at Damon and Stefan. “You're free to go. This is family business.”
In a moment of pure panic I pressed my hand against the wall figuring that there was magic inside the walls. My hand turned the red color with me taking in a breath raising my freehand creating a loud scream to fill the room. “Get the hell off him!” The room full of vampires grabbed their heads moaning in pain dropping to the ground with Damon and Stefan quickly leaving the room.
“What the devil is she!” Finn spat holding his head.
Lowering my freehand I remained by the wall too afraid that they might come for me next. Rebekah gasped, sending me a weak smile. “I guess we’ve learned never to get on your bad side, Rae.”
“She’s a feisty little witch. I like her.” Kol smirked, lowering his hands from his head.
Elijah did the same looking towards his hybrid brother. Klaus rose to his feet running his fingers through his hair where I could see him bleeding from his hand wound and the one in his stomach. He remained a few steps away from me sniffling through some tears. “I’m fine, Rae….now what the bloody hell is going on here?”
Rebekah got to her feet making her red dress sway that she was supposed to wear to the dance until she got stabbed with a dagger. “We're leaving you, Nik. Right after I kill that doppelgänger wench, then you will be alone. Always and forever.”
Klaus threatened his siblings standing in front of me. But I didn’t dare drop my hand from the wall still siphoning the magic from the wall. “If you run, I will hunt all of you down.”
Elijah warned him. “Then you'll become everything you hate. Our father.”
Klaus raised his voice yelling at them all in a threatening manner. “I'm the hybrid! I can't be killed! I have nothing to fear from any of you.”
Elijah warned him simply where I saw the hybrid’s face change into a look of fear. “You will when we have that coffin.”
We all hear a door open and the others turn around. Pressing my hand firmly against the wall I muttered quickly under my breath creating a ball of fire in my freehand. “Incindia.” There was a woman with blonde hair that I didn’t recognize at all but she must have been the other person in the coffin that Elijah referred to.
Rebekah gasps with an almost bright smile. “Mother?”
The blonde woman walks towards Klaus. “Look at me! Do you know why I'm here?”
Klaus has tears in his eyes. “You're here to kill me.”
“Niklaus, you are my son and I am here to forgive you. I want us to be a family again.” She responded turning to face her children that were all just staring at her.
I blurted out a reply not believing it. “You’re their mother!”
“Yes.” She spun around on her feet where her demeanor changed to stone cold when her gaze shifted to my hand siphoning red on the wall until I dropped both my hands. “Now who the bloody hell are you exactly because I have heard the rumors on the other side about you. But I wish to know what kind of witch can make all of my children collapse onto the ground.”

9 - Haunting Vengeance
Tumblr media
Part 10
Gemini Runaway
@dragonixfrye
Klaus vamped us upstairs where I went into the bedroom I had changing into the green tea shirt and some sleep shorts that I had on before we went on our date. Walking around the house I finally found him standing in front of a large fireplace. Stepping around the couch I plopped down on the floor. “Alright so I’m gonna need a knife and some candles. Then you sit across from me.”
He vamped through the house coming back with what I needed crossing his legs when he sat down across from me. “What exactly should I be prepared for, Raelyn?”
“Basically it will be like when you showed me your memories with your sister. Except it will take a lot of my strength to do something like this. I’ve only ever heard of witches doing something like this so I will be very rusty at this…give me your hands please.” Holding my hands out flat he placed his larger ones in mine. “Inteo….Merabas hic libatal….Insertia."
Klaus’s eyes shifted to focus onto mine then dropped down to the knife near my feet. The candles around us light up for a brief moment then returned to their normal flame control. "What exactly is the knife for then if this is a mind spell?"
“I have to link my body with yours since you’re immortal and can’t die. You don’t have to worry about it. I am just doing this as a precaution.” Picking up the knife I drew the blade lightly across my palm doing the same to Klaus’s where I quickly began chanting since he would heal at a faster rate then I would. “Phasmatos tribum, melan veras raddiam, onu pavadus ponemus.” Insertia.." Klaus sniffed trying to control the urge when he smelt the siphons blood. The candle flames grew bigger once more before there was a slight wind and Raelyn closed her eyes so he did too entering the witches mind.
“Uncle Joshua, how can we help? We don’t have magic of our own.” Jacob asked, holding my hand in his while he led us outside into the middle of nowhere in the woods of Portland.
I began to feel nervous in the pit of my stomach. He had shown up at our house saying that we needed to come with him immediately and since he was our Uncle we listened. "You said there was an emergency. What kind?”
"The problem is our Coven of witches will die unless you two Merge." He stopped in his tracks drawing a knife from his back pocket.
Jacob looked back at me. "Merge, what does that mean?"
"It's a tradition that our witch Coven must do. Twins in our family are in line to be leaders. That's what you two will be. You must contain your magic together and the stronger of the two will become the leader." He explained handing the blade outward to me.
Reaching my hand forward I heard someone breaking through the treeline seeing our mother and father. "Joshua stop! I told you that I don’t want to help you. I will not let you kill my children!”
“I don’t care, Eliza. Incendia Bulla.” Joshua raised his hand trapping my brother in a ring of fire before he grabbed his head making Jacob drop to his knees screaming. “Ah Sha Lana.”
I screamed trying to move forwards but I smacked an invisible wall. “Jacob!”
“Let my boy go, Joshua!” Our father yelled but he got thrown backwards into the dirt.
My mother ran forward shoving her hands on the fire wall, burning her fingers until the magic in the ring died down letting her inside the circle. She ran forward grabbing her brother by her shoulder with her hands turning red siphoning his magic. “You can go to hell, Joshua. You aren’t my brother anymore.”
“Eliza you still don’t realize do you…” Her brother grabbed her by her throat, choking her making her claw at his wrist. “If the twins don’t merge before I die then the entire coven dies along with me. That means you and your children will die even if they don’t merge!”
Raising my hand I broke the barrier spell chanting the words in a panic. “Solvet…Now let my mother go and we will merge.” Stomping up to my brother grasping his hand in mine.
“Raelyn. Jacob, no!” She cried when he released her trying to catch her breath.
Uncle Joshua walked around our parents placing his hands on top of our intertwined hands. “Let the Merge begin then my niece and nephew.”
Sniffing through tears I watched the image of my brother dead at my feet. Clutching my hands around Klaus’s I gasped drawing my body back wrapping my arms around myself shaking. “After that moment my twin brother was dead because of me….because I wanted to save my mother from her own brother.”
“I’m sorry, Raelyn. I would have killed that man for doing that to anyone in my family.” Klaus told me where I could see his jaw clutching at the thought of seeing someone else hurting the witch in front of him.
Hugging my knees to my chest I turned my hands into fists with my knuckles almost turning white at how hard I was pressing them closed together. “I feel like a monster when I wake up in my bed from plotting a nightmare where I got my revenge on my uncle Joshua. I shouldn’t want to hurt him or the rest of my supposed family but - he took my best friend and twin from me - he tricked us into becoming a killer just like he is.”
“That’s normal in my world, Raelyn. And if you wish it I could go compel some of my hybrids to go and kill him.” He reached over, placing his hand on mine.
“No!” I snapped my head up seeing him raise a brow at my forwardness. “If anyone gets to hurt him someday it will be me and only me ... .god I should like a horrible person don’t I?”
“I’m a thousand year hybrid vampire, Rae.” He sent me a smirk raising to his feet tugging me up to stand alongside him.
“But Klaus-“
He cut me off, tucking some hair behind my ear resting his hand on my cheek where I leaned into his palm. “Rae, stop talking for a second and think. You didn’t know that the Merge meant to kill one of you because he lied. Yes you may have been stronger than your brother and that is sad. But you have to stop having a pity party and enjoy it otherwise your brother may have died for nothing.”
Flinging my arms around his neck I sniffed happily into his shirt. He wrapped his arms around my waist kissing the crown of my hair. Breaking the hug he squeezed my hand in his right. “Thank you, Nik. I’m sorry that I am an emotional mess.”
“I’m sorry" are two words you never have to say to me ever again, Raelyn Lane. Now will you join me for a family reunion?” He smiled and I sent him back the same look when we traveled to a storage place where he got a phone call and it apparently was Stefan. “Stefan. Miss me already?”
Stefan responded when he put the phone on speaker so I could hear him. “I'm just calling to thank you for my freedom.”
Klaus responded by sending me a cheeky smile coming up on the storage locker. “I like to believe I'm a man of my word. More or less.”
Stefan spoke back. “The thing is, it came at too high of a price. You took everything from me, Klaus.”
“Let bygones be bygones. Trust me, resentment gets old.” The hybrid warned him.
“You know what never gets old?” Klaus opens the truck listening to his former friend. The coffins have disappeared. “Revenge.”,
Klaus growled. “No!”
“Stefan what are you trying to do? You shouldn’t take someone else’s family” I snapped at the vampire not liking that he seems to not care. If Jacob was still alive and he did this I might want revenge too.
Klaus snarled into the cell where he just might break the whole thing in his tight grip. “What are you doing?”
Stefan responded. “I'm just enjoying my freedom.”
Klaus threatened the vampire flashing me his golden werewolf eyes. “I will kill you and everyone you've ever met!”
Stefan clicked his tongue hanging up the phone “You do that and you'll never see your family again. I wonder, Klaus. As someone who's been one step ahead for 1,000 years. Were you prepared for this?” Lifting my head up to the original hybrid I didn’t know him well but I knew he would make him pay for stealing his family.

10 - The Original Coffins
Tumblr media
Part 11
Gemini Runaway
@dragonixfrye
Typing away at the phone number my cousin Jo had given me in case I ever wanted to talk with her and not use magic I pressed the phone to my ear. “Jo, it’s me. I understand if you are busy or something. But I have a magic question and you’re the only witch I can trust. Call me back when you can.” Hanging up the phone I heard footsteps coming up the stairs meaning it must have been Klaus.
He has been bickering with Stefan Salvatore after he had stolen the coffins that apparently held his remaining family members. But nothing had really happened in getting their safe return. Walking out of my room I followed him into the hallway seeing that his hands were clutching into fists at his sides. “I’m in no mode for company, Raelyn.”
“What happened this time? Maybe I can help you instead of threatening anyone in this town who actually knows where they are.” I offered thinking that the reason he couldn’t find them was because they were using another witch.
He ran a hand through his hair slumping his shoulders thinking for a moment. “It could be possible, Raelyn. What exactly do you have in mind to help me?”
“Simple locator spell. I used your blood since you are holding your other siblings. Since they share the same blood of your mother with you I’ll be able to find them.” I responded walking past him drawing a small dagger that I had used to cut my palm to do spells and one of the maps, gesturing for his palm once I placed the map on the bedside table in my bedroom. “Give me your hand please.”
He extended his hand where I held it over the map wrapping my fingers around his siphoning some magic from him. He winced slightly watching me turn his palm open, slicing the knife across allowing the blood to drip onto the map. “Why are you helping me exactly. Normally I have to force people to help me but you, you’re willing why?”
“Like I said once before, if anyone came after my brother I would probably do the same thing you are doing now shhh I have to concentrate…” I replied telling him to be quiet, needing to focus on the spell. “Ahsorum dolusantum infidictus.”
The blood moved across the map where I breathed out needing to remember the illusion spell so we could see where the blood stopped. According to the map the blood had stopped in a place that was referred to as the Bennett cemetery. “The bloody witch line!”
Klaus grumbled, making me send him a look mumbling another spell. “Hey, remember who is helping you here, Nikky. Phantamogriphiia decorum…Voye a sa fille.”
The bedroom around us disappears so when I opened my eyes once more scanning my gaze around the room hearing someone coming into the abandoned house that has a bunch of candles and witchy markings on the walls. Klaus steps beside me taking my hand is his. “What took you so long?” Damon appeared from behind the corner.
“You’re little witch is more powerful than I first thought.” The raven haired vampire responded walking over to us.
Klaus rolled his eyes at him. “Hiding behind your witchy friends. And in squalor, no less.” He suddenly grabbed his head screaming in pain meaning that the dead witches were using their magic on him.
“Klaus - ohhhh!” I called his name before I suddenly felt some pain shoot through my head making me drop on my knees.
“Freaky witch.” One dead witch spoke.
Another spat in my ear made me groan, bending my head on the ground. “A witch without magic is against nature.”
“Insulting a bunch of dead witches... Not smart. I made the exact same mistake first time I came in here.” Damon teased the hybrid.
Klaus stumbled to his feet glancing my direction hearing me moaning. “Well, you know the funny thing about the witches is that living or dead, they care about their own. A hundred dead witches have a thousand living descendents…” He grabbed his head again when the flames around us grew.
“Urgh stop it…Klaus!” Cried covering my ears with my hands begging him to shut up.
He rose to his feet grunting through his teeth causing the witches' voices to finally die down. “And I have no problem killing every last one of them if I don't get my coffins back. As we speak, my hybrid friend is prepared to end the Bennett line.”
“The Gemini Coven is coming for you little witch!” I heard another witch declare making me start crying in fear, finally feeling the pain completely disappear. Lifting my head upwards I gasped dropping my hands.
Klaus dropped down on his knees brushing blonde hair from my eyes, cradling my cheek in his palm. “Rea, Rae, sweetheart I’m sorry. I didn’t think they could hurt you here…Now. Please... Show me the coffins." He lifted his gaze up to the ceiling quietly asking the dead witches who made the coffins appear.
I attempted to stand on my own two feet but I swayed feeling dizzy. Luckily Klaus caught my body falling into his chest. My fingers gripped the gray material of his Henley shirt. “I know you didn’t mean it, Woah…urgh sorry.”
“What did I say about you apologizing to me, Rae. Can you walk with me, love?” He asked wrapping one arm around my waist where I felt something coming from my nose but I didn’t think it was anything. “Here we are. Where's the fourth? Show me!”
Damon shrugged his shoulders at us. “Well, ehh, here's the thing. They can't. It's not here.”
Klaus asked in a growl. ”What did you do?”
He explained. “Well, Bonnie gave me the head's up. I mean, I didn't have enough time to get all four, but I did have time to get one.”
“I will tear you limb from limb. And only then, when you are a writhing mass of blood and flesh, will I rip your heart from your chest. “ Klaus moved forward threatening the vampire, leaving me to lean my weak body against one of the coffins.
“Sorry the deal is off if you kill me.” He warns him simply.
Holding myself up on my right elbow I grunted, shifting my gaze in their direction. “Boys, can we do this the civil way possibly. I mean yes Damon if you did something like this to my brother I would do what he is doing right now probably too. But at this point it seems we can do this another way.”
“What do you mean like a deal over dinner, little witch.” Damon scoffed in my direction knitting his brows at me in confusion. “Is your nose bleeding?”
Raising my freehand up underneath my nose I drew it back seeing red on my finger tips. “Crap…I’ve never done this spell this long before.”
“We’re heading home now. See to it that your brother shows up at my house later. We can discuss a deal otherwise I will hunt for all eternity.” Klaus vamped over to me wrapping his arms around my waist whispering in my ear. “Take us back, Raelyn. You’re done.”
Nodding my head I shut my eyes and the next time I opened them we were back in the bedroom but I still felt woozy and tired. Laying on my back on the bed he came over to my side sitting down. “The Bennett witches know about my Coevn, Nik.”
“I’m sorry you got hurt because of me…once again.” He muttered gazing down at me longingly. My blonde hair was sprawled out on the pillows and he could hear my heartbeat in a calmer state then moments ago.
Blinking my eyes I sat upright a little while my hands remained resting on my stomach, not sure I heard him correctly. “Did you just apologize to me?” He avoided my gaze giving me my answer making me smile seeing that he was slightly embarrassed. “Oh my gosh you did. And here everyone thinks you are the big bad hybrid.”
“Don’t go telling people that Raelyn or I’ll compel you to do something you’ll regret.” He teased me lightly with a smile.
Waving my index finger in his face I fully sat up so we were so close our noses could touch if he moved an inch closer to me. “You can’t compel a witch, remember silly.”
“No but I can do this.” He vamped slightly forward pushing me onto my back throwing my hair in front of my face.
I giggled moving it out of my view seeing that he was hovering above me now and we were still close like we were before. Raising my hands over my head I laid them on the pillow frozen looking at him like this. “Klaus!….”
“Don’t test the wolf in me, Ms, Lame. You won’t be able to beat me.” His blue eyes were brighter than I had ever seen up until this moment. He had a kind smile on his lips that made it almost impossible to not grin as big as he was.
I smirked a small grin testing this playful side in him that I had yet to see come to the surface so I was going to enjoy it for as long as possible. When he was happy it made all my fears disappear and made me forget that I was on the run from my entire family of witches. “And what would you do to me hmm?”
“Now you're insisting on a challenge, love.” He leaned his head down to mine where my heart quickened thinking he was going to kiss me until I felt his hand move to my sides beginning to tickle me on my hip and I couldn’t run away since he had me pinned between the bed and him.
I pushed my hands against his chest trying to squirm out of his grasp but I wasn’t trying as hard when I heard a beautiful laugh come from his lips. “Klaus…no…stop. I can’t handle….being tickled. Nik….Niklaus!”
“Do you cave yet?” He asked, making our eyes finally lock onto one another.
Pushing my hands against his chest I gently shoved him off scooting upright onto the pillows behind me. “Yes I cave. I’m going to get my revenge one day.”
“Oh I’ll be pleased to see you try, Rae.” He flopped down on his side of the bed placing his hands behind his head smiling until he heard a noise from my stomach. “Have you eaten at all today?”
Shaking my head no I pulled my knees underneath my butt shifting my body so that I was facing him. “Don’t take this as a weird question but could I see you in your werewolf form sometime. I've never seen a werewolf up close before.”
“You’re avoiding eating to ask me that question, Raelyn. I care about your well being.” He sat up straight scolding me.
Throwing my hands up from my lap a little I huffed not seeing the problem. “So no, I haven't eaten today. Can you answer my question please since I helped you possibly get your coffins back?”
“This is what is going to happen, love. We are going to get you something to eat and then we will talk about your offer.” He rose to his feet offering me his hands pulling me to stand. “So what do you want for dinner?”
“Are you saying you can cook too?” I question him.
“I can but I prefer to use vampire compulsion instead.” He responded back to me. “Now are you going to be picky about this because I have told you before that I don’t mind doing whatever I can to make you happy.”
Tapping my fingers on my arms when I crossed them over my chest I told the hybrid in front of me. “Boneless Buffalo wings would be good.”
“Done.” He turned on his heels about to leave but he spun around striding up to me leaning down where I blushed quickly thinking he might try to kiss me like we almost did on our first date. Yet he kisses my forehead instead before leaving the room. “Thank you for helping today. I don’t have many allies.”
“Neither do I.” I called out, making him halt in his tracks.
He glanced over his shoulder at me, sending me another smile in my direction. “From this day on we can look out for one another, Raelyn. I’ll see you later at dinner with the Salvatore’s.” When he had left the room completely I glanced around the room hearing my phone go off on the desk so I picked it up.
Flipping through the device there was a text message from the phone number Jo had given me but it didn’t make sense since she was enjoying her life away from all her Coven drama. I didn’t expect her to come find me. “I’m coming to Mystic Falls - EL…..that doesn’t seem right.” Locking my phone screen I tossed my phone down knowing I needed to find another outfit that didn’t have light blood on it from doing magic.

It had been a few weeks since I had puked up blood and things hadn’t gotten better. I was only puking up blood occasionally but I was still getting sick in the mornings. Throwing my head back I moaned, feeling sick still pressing my back against the wall. “Ugh…This is torture.”
“Let’s just do this the easy way considering this normally works.” Klaus entered the bathroom biting into his wrist holding it out for me.
Wrapping my fingers around his wrist I started drinking it until I felt the sickness coming again where I yanked my mouth away puking again. “Shit…Call Caroline I need help.”:
He got to his feet finding my phone on the bed dialing the blonde phone number watching me as I wiped away the remaining blood on my mouth. “Rae, what’s going on?”
“Hello Caroline, she is having me call on her behalf because she is throwing up once again. What exactly do I need her to get for you, sweetheart?” He responds back to her.
Pushing my messy hair out of my face I croaked out weakly. “Care, can you go to the drug store and pick up something for morning sickness?”
“Sure. But can I ask why Klaus isn’t just giving you blood-“
“Don’t mention that it will make her-“ Klaus tried to warn the blonde but he was too late.
Gripping the side of the toilet I bent over puking for the fifth time this morning. My hair fell over my shoulders until Klaus held it back with his freehand turning the phone on video call showing it to her when I shot my head back up growling at her. “Nobody better say the word blood until this sickening nightmare is over. Or I’ll kick both your assses!”
“Okay, okay sorry. I’ll be back at the mansion in about an hour.” She hung up the phone with Nik sitting it on the countertop wrapping his arms around my waist shifting my body until he carried me bridal style back to the bed.
Reaching for his hand he intertwined our hands together staring at me as I placed my other hand on my stomach propped up on the soft pillows. “Maybe I should call Jo. She’s a doctor and a former witch. She might have answers.”
“Possibly but I have a hunch that you will be much better if we change your surroundings. So I’ll pack you a day bag and we are heading to Orleans in a few hours.” He declares rising to his feet, coming over and planting a kiss on my forehead vamping around the house grabbing some things while we wait for Caroline.
Finally she arrived coming upstairs carrying a full bag plopping down on the bed since I was laying down again not feeling like I had the strength to stand for long periods of time. “So I got some medicine. Then tons of chocolate and something for a hangover in case you had too much to drink.
“Caroline, I didn’t get drunk. I have just been puking almost every morning ever since Nik and I slept together. And his blood doesn’t do anything but make me sicker.” I grumbled laying my head back down.
She smacked me on my legs squealing like the typical teenager she was. “You slept together and you didn’t even tell me until now. I can’t believe you. We are friends and you didn’t tell me!”
“Caroline! You’re ridiculous.” I covered my face with my hands peeking through my thumb and index finger when I started blushing. “Look can we talk about this when I get back because I can assume you're going to freak out even more that I gave him my virginity.”
She bounced up and down on the bed throwing her hair around. “Eehhh! Rae, you are making the sepence even worse. Wait where are you going?”
“New Orleans. Klaus thinks that it would help with my sickness if we took a day trip to his favorite place.” I told her sitting upright when I heard someone vamped up the stairs.
Klaus leaned in the doorway, hands behind his back smiling at me. “It was on that very bed, Caroline. Are you ready to go, Raelyn?”
“Eww I can’t believe you just said that!” She jumped off the bed watching me get to my feet drinking the liquid medicine she had brought me. “I hope you have fun but when you come home we are having a serious friendvention.”
Klaus insisted on driving like usually but I was shocked that he didn’t have us traveling on a private jet. He always said he could compel almost anyone to do anything. “You seem rather quiet, love. Anything I can do now?"
"Just trying to not throw up again because it's disgusting. But uh…just start asking me questions. You know, take my mind off of it." I suggest sliding down in the passenger seat glancing briefly at him.
He nodded, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel. "Alright favorite color."
"Orange. But like where it looks like the sunset. You?" I responded.
He smiled. “Blue.”
“Like your eyes. Okay uh favorite food and if you say blood I will snap my neck when we pull over at a rest stop!” I threatened him with a smirk.
Nik sent me a raised brow smirking at me. “Blood- ow!” I kicked him harshly in the leg where he started laughing against the steering wheel.
“I told you not to say that word!” I shouted at him rolling my eyes covering my mouth trying to not puke in the car.
He raised his hands up for a second. “I’m sorry I couldn’t resist, Rae. Fine my favorite food would have to be a Benya.”
“I’ve never had one of those. My favorite food is steak. If we’re talking about dessert, anything with chocolate.” I shrugged my shoulders leaning back in my seat, spinning the ring on my hand.
Klaus whipped his head around at me with a shocked expression on his face. “You’ve never had a Benya. When we get to New Orleans that is the first very thing we are doing. Because you haven’t lived until you have one.”
“Okay.” I giggle at his outburst over a desert but he must know best since he has lived so long. We immediately parked the car even though it was nightfall already in the city and he laced my fingers with his leading me through the busy street until we came to a bakery shop.
He slides some money to the woman at the cash register. “One Benya for the lady please.”
The woman handed it to me where I took a bite out of it instantly agreeing with him. Quickly finishing the treat in my hands I licked my fingers seeing that he was smiling at me and holding back a laugh. “You can’t take me anywhere can you?” I recalled our dinner night with the Salvatore’s when I made a mess with my chicken dinner.
“No, I most certainly can’t. So I'll take it you enjoy it.” He wiped away some of the icing that was in the corner of my mouth taking my hand again going back outside on the street.
Squeezing my hand in his I smiled at him hearing the loud bands playing music making it very different from Mystic Falls or the off the grid home that I was raised in. “So what exactly do you love about this city? You’ve been all over the world and yet you pick this one.”
“Everything about it, Raelyn. The music, art, culture, food. Now come on, I want you to see it from above.” He wrapped his arms around my waist where I jumped up wrapping my legs and arms around him so he could vamp us up onto a high platform overlooking the sights.
My hair blows in front of my face when he rested his chin on top of my shoulder holding onto me in the middle of my waist. “It’s beautiful. My brother would have loved looking at all the art.”
“There’s nothing that says we have to go back to Mystic Falls, you know. We could remain here for the rest of our lives.” He suggested where I spun around in his arms pressing my back against the metal railing.
“Did I ever tell you why I don’t want my coven to find me before I knew that if I died then they would too?”
He shook his head no. “No you haven’t, love.”
“The reason is…because I never want to have children. Because there’s a very likely chance that I would have twins. I completely refuse to put such a burden on myself and whoever the father would have been. Putting pressure on my children and telling them that they might have to kill their twin. It’s just too cruel of a thought…but since you're a hybrid I don’t have to worry about it.”
He tilted his head resting his forehead against mine. “If you want to adopt, we could do that someday.”
“Never. I have everything I need right here with you, Niklaus. I don't need any children in my life. I just desire to have you forever and always.” Leaning forward I close the gap kissing him wrapping my arms around his neck. He pressed his lips firmly onto mine, vamping us around until I was pressed against him and the brick wall. Running my fingers through his hair I started making it into a mess when he lowered his face into my neck trailing kisses down it making me moan when he hit my sweet spot. “Nik!”
He lifted his head up when I tugged on the back of his head cupping his face in my hands where he moved his hands up wrapping my legs around him so he could grab a hold of my shirt about to tear it. “Raelyn..”
“Niklaus, Raelyn.” Elijah’s familiar voice caused us to turn our heads quickly seeing that he was standing a few feet away from us.
Burying my blushing face into his black tea shirt he growled at his brother interrupting us. “Go away, Elijah. I am enjoying my time with my love.”
“We need to talk, brother.” He said.
Klaus shook his head lifting my head up in one hand about to kiss me again. “The only thing I need or care to do is going to back to kiss this beautiful face.” I giggled brushing my nose with his wrapping his other arm around my waist.
“I believe I have found the answer to why Raelyn is getting sicker and it isn’t because of her consuming our mother’s magic.” Elijah declares, causing me to lower my legs separating from his brother eyeing him with curiosity where he waved us to follow after him.
Klaus and I followed after the suit wearing vampire until we ended up in a crypt underneath the city. “What are we doing here?”
Elijah replied. “Want to know what the witches have in store for you? Follow me.”
Moving around a corner I saw there was a woman with black hair waiting for us. “Sophie Deveraux. What is this?”
Elijah gestures with his hand. “He's all yours. Proceed.”
Sophie began explaining to my boyfriend in a very serious tone. “You know you're famous in this town? Witches tell bedtime stories about the powerful vampire Klaus. We know Marcel was nothing but an orphaned street rat until you made him what he is. And now he's out of control. He does what he wants. He kills who he wants. I'm gonna stop him... And you're gonna help me.”
Klaus looks at Elijah then down at me with our hands still intertwined together. “This is why you brought me here. You do realize we need to be finding a cure for the dark magic that is killing Raelyn and why she is getting sick all of the sudden.”
Elijah told us. “Hear her out.”
Klaus shook his head turning back to the woman before he began walking towards the door and I followed his heels. “I don't need to hear her out. I assure you, love, there is not a thing on this earth that will matter enough for me to waste even 30 more seconds of my time. Elijah, what madness is this?”
“You two have slept together recently.” The witch shouted, making me halt in my tracks.
Turning on my heels to face her I crossed my arms over my chest feeling my face turn red not expecting that I would have this conversation with a stranger but here we were. “Yes, so what of it. In case you didn’t realize this my sex life isn’t something I talk about publicly. Especially to a strange witch in a bayou in New Orleans.”
Sophie stepped closer to me, shifting her focus back onto the hybrid. “Marcel may be able to keep us from practicing real magic in this town, but as keepers of the balance, we still know when nature has cooked up something new. For example, I have a special gift, of sensing when a girl is pregnant.”
Klaus asked, shaking slightly in confusion. “What?”
“Elijah, did you decide to trust the stupidest witch in the whole city?” Spinning around towards him I started laughing thinking that this was a joke that they were playing on me to make me feel better after the last couple of hard days but the original vampire didn’t start laughing. “Like you know just like every other vampire on the planet that they can’t have children. That’s what Rebekah is always talking about, that was taken away from her before she got the chance. So just go ahead and say this is a joke.”
Klaus took a few steps back dragging me behind him and shielding me with his chest. “What are you saying?”
“Niklaus… The girl is carrying your child.” Elijah reveals to him where my hand’s dropped down to my stomach in shock.
Klaus threw his hands up shouting at the pair in disbelief like me. “No. It's impossible. Vampires cannot procreate.”
“But werewolves can. Magic made you a vampire, but you were born a werewolf. You're the original hybrid, the first of your kind, and this pregnancy is one of nature's loopholes. My sister gave her life to perform the spell she needed to confirm this pregnancy. Because of Jane-Anne's sacrifice, the lives of this girl and her baby are now controlled by us. If you don't help us take down Marcel, so help me, Raelyn won't live long enough to see her first maternity dress.” The French Quarter witch declared in our faces.
“Are you insane? You can’t kill me now that I am linked to him.” I baked pointing my index finger at Nik holding up the magical ring on my hand.
Elijah turned on his heel’s about to leave and go fight whoever this Marcel guy was. “Enough of this, if you want Marcel dead, he's dead. I'll do it myself.”
Sophie raised her voice, stopping him. “No. We can't. Not yet. We have a clear plan that we need to follow and there are rules.”
“How dare you command me? threaten me with what you wrongfully perceive to be my weaknesses? I won't hear any more lies!” Klaus roared his voice at her stomping almost out the door until his brother called his name.
“Niklaus. Listen.” He breathed out where he turned around slowly with his blue eye trailing down to my stomach listening closely.
I stuttered when he paused in his step, almost pressing our chests together watching his hand come to cradle my face up so I would look him in the eye. “Nik…they’re lying right. I’m not…we can’t be pregnant.”
He shook his head no slowly causing me to suck in a sharp breath after he whispered hearing the heartbeat of another inside my stomach. “They are telling the truth, Rae.”
“Oh god…” I began crying which caused him to wipe away the falling tears with his thumb. I couldn’t let myself be pregnant. I wasn’t fit to be a mother. The coven didn’t deserve to torture this child like they had me and Jacob.
Klaus faced the pair pulling me from the trance I was in. “Kill the baby. What do I care?”
“I can’t be here to hear this.” I pushed my way past him sniffing through some more tears.m
Nik blinked his eyes watching the siphon witch he loved leaving in front of him and he had no clue what had gotten into her. “Raelyn….Rae wait.” From the conversation earlier he was confused at the reaction she had just given him so he vamped straight after her.

The bed was creaking under our weight while Klaus and I molded together. He had his head buried in the crook of my neck while he was pushing against me listening to me moan softly. "Nik!"
"Rae!..." He collapsed on his back beside me with both our chests heaving up and down even though we didn't need air we both felt extremely exhausted.
My hair was tousled and scattered across the pillows as I pulled the sheet up over my chest. "I thought before was good but that….was beyond words."
"Beyond words indeed, love." He sat up holding himself up on his right elbow where I saw the complete mess of curls from my doing last night. "Are we going to ignore the fact that you have a dominant side that I never knew of until last night."
Raising a brow at him I avoid his gaze. "Is that bad…"
"Heaven no. It makes me more attracted to you. And I never thought I could be more intrigued to you then I already was." He hovered above me turning my chin so I was staring at him.
I giggled when he moved his hands to my sides, beginning to tickle my sides. "Ahh! Nik no. No, please not that!"
He kept moving his hands across my body enjoying the sound of me squealing and trying to get away from him. Swatting at his hands I mumbled a spell under my breath. "Corposris impetus…Invisique." Klaus froze his movements and turning invisible.
"Raelyn, what are you - offf?" He got the wind knocked out of him shortly afterwards falling down onto his back.
"Phasmatos Oculacs….That's payback Niklaus." Landing on his chest pressed up against his bare body I smirked proudly.
He trailed his eyes up until our gazes met then he lifted his hands up drawing my lips back down to his. Resting my hands on his bare chest leaning into the kiss. He rolled me onto my back resting his forehead against mine. "You are a little cheater using those magical powers on me, your husband."
"You said you didn't play fair sometimes. Now we can be even, by me your wife." I flipped my hair out of my face tracing my fingers across the bird tattoo in front of his chest.
He nuzzles his nose into my neck trailing some kisses with me pushing him on his back where my head was laying on his chest. "Do you recall when you asked me to wait before you and I had a shower. What are your thoughts now hmm?"
"Tis tempting that is for sure. Although I don't think I can walk well after all the mess we did last night." Glancing around the room the bedpost was bent a little and there was a mess on the table where our champagne glasses were until we broke them making love on the table and other places. "Thank goodness I learned your mothers silence spell otherwise everyone at our wedding ceremony would have heard us."
"If they had I wouldn't have cared a lick. Because it would tell them that you are mine alone, Raelyn Lane know formally Mikaelson." He crossed his arms behind his head smirking proudly with me pressed up to his embrace.
Snuggling my head closer into the crook of his neck he drew the covers over us. Wrapping his arms around my body laying on top of his until I sensed someone inside the house. "Someone's here. We have to go investigate now." Shooting upright I vamped out of the bed snatching his shirt from the ground yanking it over my head where it hung like a dress on me and I slipped my underwear back on. "Nik, come on. Get up."
"I would much rather stay here and you come back to bed." He tilted his head to the side remaining in the bed revealing his bare chest to me.
Striding up to him I grabbed his arm trying to drag him from the bed but he was stronger than me. "Nikkk come on. If it's an intruder then we need to protect the girls."
"Ugh you owe me." He grumbled vamping up shrugging on some boxer shorts and walking out the room a shirt in his other hand. We walked through the compound until we came to the dining room halting in our tracks noticing Freya sitting at the edge of the table playing with our three daughters. "I thought I made it clear that this place is reserved for family!"
"Niklaus…." She clawed at his wrist once he had vamped her against the wall choking her by her throat. "Please I have to warn you of Dahlia. Elijah said that….Raelyn may be willing to listen."
"Nik, let her -" I cut myself short feeling dizzy where I stumbled forward slapping my palms on the large table.
He released his grip vamping over to me, squeezing my shoulder searching for what was wrong. "Raelyn?"
"Raelyn, I can help you with whatever is causing you pain." Freya rose to her feet.
Glancing through my locks of hair in front of my face I saw my vision bluring and I swore I could see the woman that claimed to be Dahlia standing behind Missy who was sucking on her thumb. "Incendia!" Raising my hand I threw a fireball until Freya yanked her away before she could get hit.
"Well that's certainly an issue. Raelyn, please allow my help before you try to fry another one of your kids." She offers sitting Missy back down in her chair coming towards me.
She touched my hand with her fingers and I clutched my eyes feeling Nik's hand still on my shoulder when I muttered under my breath seeing a vision flash through my mind. "Insertia."
"If you had listened to me, Raelyn then this wouldn't have happened." Dahlia growled in my ear circling me closely while we were standing in the bayou.
Hayley was sobbing but I couldn’t see who was injured. "Hayley, what's happened. Why are you crying?"
"She did this…" She weakly raised her index finger pointing in the direction behind Dahlia. The witch disappeared for a brief moment giving me the chance to see Hope.
Shuttering a breath a chill ran down my spine. "Hope?" She had fangs dropped down in her mouth, a fireball in one hand and finally her eyes were the werewolf glow.
"I didn't mean to, mom. I swear I would never hurt Uncle Jacob." She became frantic where I almost couldn't believe her.
Rushing towards Hayley I cover my mouth in honor seeing my twin brother bleeding from his neck on the ground and he had no heartbeat. "J, no!"
"This is one of the possibilities if her power goes unchecked. What happens if it is you brother, one day your friend Cami, or even another child you may bear later in life. Are you willing to risk such a fate?" Dahlia asked.
Whipping my head around I snarled in her direction crying heavily before I blacked out. "You don't know anything about who she will. Now stay the hell away from my family and my head!"
"Oh Rae…why didn't you tell me how serious they were." Klaus asked pushing Freya away so he could shove me into his embrace hating to see me cry.
Freya gently made her way back by placing her on my stomach. "Insertia…" She entered my mind again and I showed her the prior nightmare that played through my mind.
Getting in her face I turned away from my daughter. "Get out of my head, Dahlia!"
"You see I can't do that until I show you what you need to see." She glanced back over to Hope seeing her raise her hands toward the crowd. Her eerie turned a light blue with her hands. "You need to watch the power that will take control over your daughter. One that only goes to a first born Mikaelson witch."
Shifting my gaze to my daughter I felt some tears when she screamed and every single person before her dropped dead. I knew what having uncontrollable magic was like. "No! I won't let her fall off the wagon. I can teach her. I - I learned to control mine."
"You will be forced to watch her hurt everyone even when she doesn't mean to. And be unable to teach her like I will. Best for you to give her up without a fight." Dahlia whispers in my ear snapping my neck as I shutter a breath eyeing the dead bodies.
Klaus wrapped his arms around my waist lifting me up into his arms carrying me over to the large couch. He laid me down running his fingers through my hair holding my head against his chest feeling me shaking in his embrace. "Raelyn, sweetheart. It's okay, they're just nightmares."
"No they're not, Klaus. I saw Hope when she was older and she had too much uncontrollable power…she couldn't contain it…she killed Jacob!" I whimpered clutching his bare shoulders drawing blood with my fingernails sobbing heavily.
Freya held a hand to her forehead finally saying something. "I'm sorry to say they are not just nightmares, Niklaus."
"You caused her pain. The moment you got here. It has been you, witch!" He raised his voice at her close to ripping her head off for hurting the woman he loved.
But she stomped her feet on the floor defending herself. "You have no possibility of trusting me but what I am telling you now is the truth. I have spent a thousand years with Dahlia. She was furious when Esther turned you all into vampires. And all she craves is more power. Now that you and Raelyn have daughters she will come for them."
"But what if she can't sense the other two?" Lifting my head up from his chest tears were streaming down my face when I sniffed heavily.
The witch made a face at me glancing over to our three daughters who were drawing random patterns on the table with their hands. "I'm not following exactly. Can one of you fill me in?"
"I was born a siphon witch in my Coven called the Gemini. I won't go through the horrible details but I had to draw magic from others. Until I turned so now I siphon off my own magical energy now." I began explaining, feeling Klaus drawing patterns on my lower back feeling the shakiness beginning to calm down. "My children were conceived through me siphoning magic from Esther. Anyhow recently we learned that only Hope inherited her own magic. Alina and Missy are born siphons like me."
Freya moves to sit down at the other end of the couch with a hand to her forehead. "Wow…I have never heard of that type of witch before. But that might work in our favor…"
"Meaning what exactly?" Klaus asked her not knowing what she meant and I had the same confused look on my face.
Freya shifted her weight to directly face the two of us. "Dahlia can only sense one of your children's magic. If the other two don't really have magic then she can't know about them. Alina and Melissa are our secret advantage against Dahlia. We can put her down with their help."

51 - The Lane Family Darkness
Tumblr media
Part 52
Family is More than Blood
@secretdreamlandmentality
Jacob’s pov
I couldn’t believe my sister right now. She would never understand with her and her hybrid husband being able to keep making babies. I decided to take matters into my own hands and figure out the spell that Klaus's dead mother used that gave her the ability. Stomping through the woods I removed the duffel bag off my shoulder and sat it down on the hard dirt. “This should be a good enough spot.”
“Care to tell us what we are doing out here, J?” Hayley asked me, arms over her chest.
Andrea, my daughter , tilted her head in confusion. “Yeah dad. You said you needed help but with what I don't get.”
“I need you to siphon the magic out of this.” Rummaging around in the duffel bag at my feet I drew out the Ascendent that I had taken from Josie and Lizzie when they had brought it back to the school.
My wife Hayley eyed me. “Why does she have to do it? You’re half siphon witch too. So I suggest you start telling us what is really going on.”
“I have to do another spell once you have the magic inside of you and the spell requires the family blood.” I lied the best that I could knowing that dark magic hadn’t been good in the hands of Josie or my twin but she refuses to help me.
Andrea takes the Ascendent from my hands, closing her eyes beginning to chant the siphoning spell. “Magia tollux de terras…Magia tollux de terras.” Her hands on the object turned red until she dropped it on the grass and I saw black veins crawling over her arms.
Hayley gasped, stepping forward to touch her. “Jacob, what the hell are you doing to her!”
“Be quiet, Hayley! Okay give it to me, sweetheart.” Grasping my daughter’s hands in my own I drag a knife across her right palm, letting the blood drip onto our intertwined hands. She winced when our hands turned red and I started siphoning the dark magic from her. “In unum edito, dominus sae domina. Cuplas sino lieros. In unum edito, dominus - shit Klaus!”
“What the bloody hell do you think you're doing, Jacob!” The hybrid growled in my face, the fangs and veins appearing very quickly.
Hayley stepped forward asking. “Yeah what are you doing, J?”
“Urgh it's none of your business Niklaus - motus.” I grunted siphoning off of his forearm lunching him into the nearest tree.
He shakes his head with some wounds healing over. “It is my business when you are part of the reason my wife was terrified to take her magic back.”
“What's wrong with Aunt Rae?” Andrea asked her uncle with a lot of concern in her tone of voice.
Klaus rose up from the ground dusting his hands on his pants. “He hasn't told you because he doesn't even know himself. She's in a coma because of my idiot daughters who tried consuming the Dark magic inside of that.” He pointed at the Ascendent laying in the dirt.
“Dark magic!” Andrea cried out looking at her hands that once had the power inside of them.
Hayley glared at me. “Jacob Lane, how could you trick your daughter like that. And all for what?”
“So that we could have more children like we talked about years ago. Andrea doesn't deserve to be an only child!” I shouted back at the three of them with some of the trees around us suddenly bursting into flames.
Hayley stepped over to our daughter holding her against her chest noticing something on my arms. “J, if giving me more babies means you'll have to die for real this time then I don't want any.”
“Hayley I'll be fine.”
Klaus scoffed under his breath. “No you won't, mate. Look at your arm because I remember quite clearly that magic nearly killed your sister.”
“You’re just trying to talk me out of what I want. There’s no…marks.” I raised up my arm gasping under my breath seeing small thin black lines crawling up my arms.
My brother in law snarled. “I’m not bluffing anything, mate. Now either you are going to help me save my wife, your sister or you will face some very painful consequences!”
“Uncle Klaus, don’t hurt him.” Andrea begged me with some watery eyes.
Spinning around on my feet I snapped at my niece even though I didn’t wish too but her father needed to understand how selfish he was being to let his sister suffer. “I’m sorry, Andrea. Bu he refuses to accept the weight that his sister is suffering in agonizing torment and now he is only thinking about himself.”
“Shut the hell up, Klaus!” I yelled towards the hybrid, turning my hands into fists at my sides.
The hybrid vamped forward grabbing me by my throat and slamming me into the nearest tree that I hadn’t sent up in heavy flames. “Klaus don’t!” Hayley warned him with her eyes glowing golden but she remained by our daughter's side.
“Don’t worry, little wolf. He will heal you know.” Klaus held his gaze on mine intensely.
Andrea croaked out. “Uncle Klaus, don’t hurt him. I’ll help you save Aunt Rae.”
“Oh this is now about more than needing his help, dear.” His eyes turned dark gold following the dark veins and fangs of his vampire side coming through. “The reason for this chokehold is on the fact that I don’t understand why your father’s desire for having more children is overshadoweding his desire to help his sister.”
“I’m angry with her - that’s enough of a reason.” I winced when his fingers closed tighter around my throat.
Klaus pressed his nose against mine getting in my face. “Your sister was so broken up years ago when she was tricked to kill you. She would have gone through hell on Earth to protect you but you don’t seem to be the same. From where I am standing I don’t see how you two are related. You may share the same blood yet that seems to be the only thing you have in common.”
“Klaus, I get you upset. So just put him down and we can find a way to help you.” Hayley touched his shoulder before he moved his hands tightly around my neck more and snapped it where I grunted falling to the dirt at his feet.
Andrea gasped, covering her mouth with her hands. “Was that necessary?”
“He needed to be taught a lesson and don’t worry he’ll come back you know that, Little Lane.” Klaus dropped his hands to his side eyeing the knocked out vampire. His phone vibrated in his pocket till he put it up to his ear. “Melissa, have you found anything?”
“Lizzie thinks she can help us.” The young heretic answered his question.
He responded by vamping away from the two other supernaturals. “Brilliant. I’ll be there shortly. This could have gone less violent if he just helped me.”
“Sometimes I really don’t like the Mikaelson family.” Hayley hugged her daughter to her chest while they waited for Jacob to wake up.
Missy’s pov
Remaining in a sitting position at my mothers bedside I felt a huge weight on my shoulders from not being there to stop my sisters from putting her in this situation. They had no right on not telling me in what they were doing especially if they knew about mom’s situation. Footsteps were heard coming up the stairs and the door creaked open. “Dad, Lizzie isn’t here yet. So we’ll just have to wait a second - Ethan what are you doing here?”
“I know you said that you don’t want me around sometimes because you’re worried about me getting hurt. But I uh…brought some French fries and a chocolate milkshake from the Grill.” He nervously stands in the doorway revealing a paper bag and a shake cup from behind his back.
Flipping my hair out of my line of sight I sighed. “E, I really don’t think - I can’t believe you remembered one of my favorite things from there.”
“Of course I remember. You are my girlfriend after all.” He walked over handing me the shake and then the bag before he sat down beside me on the bed.
Shoving my hand in the bag of fries I ate one talking with my mouth full. “Thank you for this. I actually haven’t eaten much all day given what’s happened with her.”
“Do you wanna tell me what is happening with her or not?” Ethan asked me, trailing his voice off.
Swallowing some more fries I shifted my gaze to my unconscious mother. Her hair was slightly tousled and you could see the black veins crawling up her body. “My sisters made her take her magic back when she wasn't ready for it. Now she's under some coma or something. And we're not sure if we can wake her up.”
“That's scary. But you’ve a Mikaelson. From what I've seem you guys don't go down without a fight.” My boyfriend responded before I sat my drink down and hugged him without saying a word.
He wrapped his arms around my waist and embraced me back with the same comfort level. “Thank you, E.”
Footsteps came into the room and so we separated from one another seeing Lizzie. “So I think we should be able to just siphon it out of here.” She sat down a Grimor on the edge of the bed.
“Siphon it into what would be helpful to know, Elizabeth.” My father vamped into the bedroom standing by her side seconds later.
She flipped her hair over her shoulder. “I don't know. I assume we could put it inside the Prison World that it was previously in.”
“Uhhh! My head hurts…” Everyone in the room quickly turns their heads in the direction of the new voice. My mother slowly pushed herself up in a sitting position holding the side of her neck.
I gasped with Ethan reached out to her. “Ms. Mikaelson. are you okay?”
“Ah! I will be once I…kill you.” My mother slowly revealed her fangs from her mouth. The veins under her eyes appeared as she launched herself straight for my boyfriend.
I screamed out. “Ethan!”
“Expello.” Lizzie gripped my father’s forearm siphoning from him, managing to create a quick boundary spell that my mom hit her forehead straight into.
I dragged Ethan off the bed and he sucked in a breath seeing my mother standing there up against the barrier. She pressed her hands against it, baring her teeth. “I didn’t think she’d ever do that. Is something wrong with her?”
“She definitely would never hurt you unless you deserved it.” I bent down on my knees seeing no injuries on him. Ethan grasped my hand in his slowly getting his breathing under control.
Lizzie pointed her index finger, gaining our attention. “Were her eyes like that the last time she consumed Dark Magic?”
“Get out of here right now. I’ll handle her and don’t do anything reckless or stupid until I tell you otherwise!” My father turned his hands into fists at his sides, instructing the three of us to leave quickly and we all scrambled out the doorway with me shutting the bedroom door behind me.
Raelyn's eyes turned black as night, slamming her hands against the barrier. “You can’t beat me, hybrid!”
“I’m not trying to beat you whoever you are that has passed the love of my life.” Klaus slowly stepped forward until he reached the barrier as close as he possibly could. “But I am going to get my wife back.”
Dark Raelyn tilted her head to the side with a cheeky smirk playing on her lips. “Are you sure you don’t love me instead of the other Raelyn?”
“What do you mean by that, witch?” He snarled at her.
The heretic held her smirk when she spoke her next words leaving the hybrid in front of her speechless. “What I mean is you only think that you want goodness in your life. But the truth is deep down inside I can feel that you’re drawn to her darkness just as much as she is to yours. What do you say to that, hybrid?” Klaus just blinked his eyes wishing he could be staring back at his wife’s beautiful eyes rather than the mistress of darkness.
