im mad bc @hydrate-or-diedrate's liveblog keeps making me go watch homestuck flashes and feel a deep and inimitable nostalgia over them >:(

Day 5 of reading homestuck. We're on limited time and going into the first intermission let's go besties

Anyway-

I was warned this would feel inconsequential but be important later so I'll do my best not to go too fats and miss stuff okay does that satisfy you (I say as though I have not quickly become kinda obsessed with this story)

The Midnight Crew have some of the silliest names yet. We can pretend these are nicknames but I choose to believe these are their names given at birth and its coincidental that they all match until I'm proven otherwise because it's funnier that way

That woman Lali met while climbing the building, who turned out to be a radio host - are we going to see more of her in the comic? I kinda got the sense she's a nod to Cecil Nightvale, but also potentially a platonic/romantic interest for Lali?

Yes! I got the idea from Cecil Nightvale!! She's actually a reference too to Ms Ink from breadstuck lol

I want to use her to bookend every "arc" by giving a news report about Lali's exploits and maybe trying to investigate more about her....

That's why her name is Giovanna Bright... She sheds a spotlight on Lali

And as her being a romantic interest I think Lali needs to figure out more about herself before she's ready to make friends or girlfriends....

But it is a cute idea!

Ohohoo, looks like someone just got breadstuck. And possibly chomped their own tongue too, which is bad enough without a paranormal allergen in the mix. Nice job on Vishie's spooky red peepers (srsly, hold on to that particular layer/pupil trick), those Action Lines and that grassy terrain-map stuff.

Thanks, the grass and speed line brushes have been a great help for me. And I do love the pupil look for my vamps, I think it worked out pretty well.
