Like, y’all, I love Janey, don’t get me wrong, and yes I know she was mind-controlled, but also she still remembered what she did in that state. She remembers and does nothing. Does nothing despite the fact that her friend was a sobbing mess beneath her and is now very traumatized because he was told and threatened awful things.

Jake English shouldn’t need to apologize again because he already did in-comic. He already apologized. If Jane doesn’t want to accept it, then she’s allowed! THAT DOESNT MEAN HE NEEDS TO APOLOGIZE OVER AND OVER AGAIN BECAUSE CLEARLY HE’S COMPLETELY IN THE WRONG FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO READ HER MIND.

After what happened, I think Jake actually deserves an apology from Jane if anything. Because between accidental boundary breaking and actual threats of assault, I think one is MUCH worse then the other.

i genuinely think homestuck fans should re-read the comic every summer. i've been doing it for a decade and it is really helpful to refresh yourself especially if you read a lot of fanfic & analysis, and DOUBLY especially if you write the stuff yourself. there is so much packed into this story that you will forget things, you will misremember them, you will find your perceptions of characters and events drifting over time. you are not immune to the way your brain rewrites a memory each time it retrieves it. reread homestuck with me.

calling june a "headcanon" does a disservice to the idea. june is a fully coherent read of the character gained from the text and was heavily appreciated by the author of the story and planned to be put in the work itself. that's not a headcanon anymore, that's just literally being correct. it makes me so mad when people dismiss june as "a headcanon", or go with the "june was only real because of the toblerone wish", because june was planned for months before the toblerone even happened! also, the toblerone wish wasn't a thing until after june was confirmed. the initially "toblerone wish" was 2 friends jokingly calling themselves the new author of homestuck, declaring june real, and then andrew hussie showed up and was like "you're correct".

the confirmation of june being canon was actually just a spoiler (or as much as a characters identity could be a spoiler), and the fact that she hasn't appeared in hs2 yet is just because the moment isn't right for it yet, narratively.

but also june is a trans woman in all timelines regardless of what you think.

I feel like noone ever ralks about how much harassment people who like the amporas suffer. The official homestuck discord server is actually really terrible. I've had nothing but bad experiences with them. You aren't allowed to have differing opinions at all or hoards of teenagers dogpile accuse you of horrible things. (I've actually had people tell me to kms for liking eridan and then get banned or muted by the mods for trying to explain why i like him) If you can avoid the official hs server please do at all costs. It isn't just the eridan thing, thats just the most pertinent example. I respect the caligulasaquarium blog for being so brave because i could never talk about eridan like that on this platform after the way i was harassed for it on discord. And let me reiterate that this is the OFFICIAL HOMESTUCK DISCORD SERVER!!! Where you can be banned for talking about eridan ampora while someone else gets patted on the back for calling you a white supremacist for it, all the while making antisemetic jokes. VRchat is even worse, 14 yos will literally just walk up to you and call you a rapist if you're in a cronus avatar.
