marie celine marchand had been in new york for the past year, much to brad's dismay. he hadn't seen her since christmas, and was shocked to see her at his doorstep up north. it was now july during the off season, and marie had decided to head on up to nova scotia, for her birthday no less.
the youngest of the five, she could not have been more different from the rest. she never engaged in hockey (i know! a sin!) never took any inkling towards skating or snow sports, but instead towards soccer, her first love. she was enamored with it and it took her to faraway places with team canada and for her college years at the university of stanford. she had a very hard time leaving california but knew it was best to start fresh, and it just so happened that she loved new york. at the time, it was only a 40 minute drive to her long time childhood friend, ryan graves before he was traded to the pittsburgh penguins. the day he was traded, he gave her a phone call and she was completely gutted. yet she understood the business side of the league, though brad had gotten the better part of it his entire career. after he was traded, she hadn't thought about the new jersey devils as the season rolled around. she no longer had something tying her to them, so she moved on and supported her friend's ryan and sidney on the pens from afar. it wasn't until she found her self in upper manhattan meeting up with some girls from work at a little known and upscale restaurant, that she had saw some of the people she'd grown close to over ryan's stint with the team. she walked past them towards her table, most certainly garnering some looks once they heard the familiar name of marie celine from the group of girls. she got a text from a few of them night, restarting the snapchat groupchat she had had with some of the younglings. most notably, hughes', nico and dawson. she rolled her eyes as messages flowed in that evening as the girls took some wine back to the girl's apartment.
that evening all of the caught up with one another, and then she received a text from nico askin if they wanted to get some coffee for old times sake. what did she have to lose? and so it began than, secret dates and then group dates with the team, spending weekends at a time with nico at his place getting up to whatever came about. throughout all of it, she kept it a secret from everybody besides her older sister rebecca; nobody needed to know. at least not yet.
marie walked up to the front door of brad's lake house and she mentally prepared herself for the all the pestering and bombarding that would happen once she'd set a foot in the house. she pulled out the key he had given her the year he finished building it, and she quickly made work with the lock and pushed open the tall door. "brad! im home!!" she called out, smirking to herself as she heard dogs running towards her and footsteps. she looked up to see brad with wide eyes and then his famous smile. she took her hand off of her small suitcase, and met him halfway for a hug. "who's here?" "who's that?" "if its jr im gonna cry" and that made marine giggle, already knowing it was ryan. "you good?" brad questioned pulling away just a bit and she nodded, "yep! are you? you forgot to invite me for my birthday!" she said faking a pout. "kat!" he called for his wife and marie slapped his arm, "don't go blaming it on your wife you hooligan!" marie said as katrina walked in and she squeled. "i thought you were going to sw-" and then katrina cut herself off. brad looked at his wife then to marie and then they were both gone and off towards the kitchen. "we have a surprise guest!" katrina called out towards the open back door and a group of heads turned towards her. she saw her siblings, ryan, sid, nate, patrice b, pasta, their partners, a few childhood friends of the siblings and a few aunts/uncles. "damn got the whole fam i see..." she whispered to kat who giggled. "uh yeah you could say that." she said looking down at the girl as some of the guys came to say hi. "hi guys." she said looking at some of the nova scotia greats as ryan rested his arm on the brunettes head. she looked up giving him a playful dirty glare, "ah hem." she said garnering a few laughs. "well if you'll excuse me-" she paused pushing ryan's arm off of her head, "ill be down soon, i need to do a few things." she said smiling at everybody before she was off towards a guest room that was designated hers.
she sat down on the edge of the bed as she put her head in her hands, cursing the world. her phone buzzing like no tomorrow with texts from nico, the hughes brothers and dawson. she had been dodging their texts and calls after (what she thought) was nico cheating on her. they were on facetime a week ago and she could have sworn she heard somebody in the background as she heard a muffled voice and nico look in front of him one night. so when she didn't show up to the airport in switzerland the day before, nico was freaking out. which in turn freaked the other boys out. she heard a soft knock on her door, and she looked up to see ryan. she sniffled, wiping her tears as he stepped in and shut the door behind him.
she broke down even more, and ryan quickly sat down beside her and wrapped his arms around her. he had no idea why his best friend was hurting, yet he kept quiet until her sobs became softer. "mc....whats going on?" he asked as he pulled back just a bit to look at her, her cheeks stained with redness and moisture. she sniffled, "he-he's cheating on me." she said and ryan knew exactly who she as referring to, besides her sister she ofcourse told him. they were two peas in a pod, through thick and thin. ryan sighed, growing heated with anger. "and they wont stop texting me...they are worried as to why i didn't make it to switzerland but i don't wanna talk to them." she said pushing her head into his chest. ryan kissed her head, trying to calm himself. she needed her best friend, he'd take care of nico later.
the next morning ryan left the marchand house early to get some coffee for him and marie. the two hadn't left her room all day. she was too much in state of disbelief, shock, and grief as she explained to nico what had happened. as soon as he was turning onto the main strip her called nico up, ready to tear him a new one. nico picked up on the fourth ring unsure as to why he was calling, "wanna fucking explain to me hischier why the fuck you cheated on the very best thing that has ever happened to you and our universe huh? why you decided to hurt the very brightest light? you are so in for it hischier, you have no idea. you have a whole league about to give you hell." ryan spat breathing rapidly. nico was at a loss for words over in switzerland. "what?" he croaked in confusion and exhaustion. since marie hadn't been responding to anybody's calls or messages, he hadn't slept. too sick with fear and anxiety. "she caught you with a girl nico, on facetime. are you seriously that daft?" ryan growled. nico thought back to their last facetime and he went through the events of it. he'd been sitting up in bed shirtless, around 11:30 his time, he was just about to go to bed after finishing his sleep tea and he then realized. she had heard his sister in the background, as she had come to visit him and the two had just gotten done playing a round of Mario kart. "christ- didn't cheat. promise." he said standing up now and looking at flights to new york. "who was it then nico?" ryan questioned, "my sister. can get flight to new york today." he said and ryan chuckled, "yeah no she ain't there." ryan said turning into the drive through, " if you're gonna make things right, you gotta come to scotia." ryan stated.
_
ryan walked back into the house with his, brad's, kat's and marie's coffee with a few breakfast sandwiches. "wanna tell me why marie is crying on the dock?" sidney said as soon as ryan walked into the kitchen. "wait what?" ryan asked setting everything down before looking towards the dock, and now seeing nate making his way down it. ryan sighed, "misunderstanding." he simply stated taking the coffees out of the tray. "misunderstanding, huh? is that why you two were locked in her room all evening?" sidney asked sipping his hot coffee. ryan sighed again, "she thought her boy-boyfriend cheated on her." was all ryan stated sipping some coffee. "boyfriend?" sidney questioned, eyes going wide. "does brad know?" he questioned, and ryan scoffed. "like he need to know every little thing in her life." and sidney wouldn't buy it. "no no, you have to tell him! or at least get her too." sidney said with authority, and ryan rolled his eyes. "sid, she doesn't want him to know at least not yet." ryan said watching nate and marie interact. nate had his arm around the brunette, as she sobbed into his shoulder. "you know we all look at her like a sister, please do the right thing. we only want the best for her and that only happens if brad knows, and you know that." sidney said before taking his cup of coffee and heading out to nate and marie. ryan groaned as kat walked in with the young kiddos. "ou! mommy juice, thankyou ry." kat said thanking the defenceman. she saw the look in his eyes, and then she look towards the crowded dock. "oh no." kat said, "oh no? whats up?" brad said walking in rubbing his eye. he paused as he saw the three of them outside, huddled together, "whats going on?" brad asked now walking in front of ryan. "uh-" "spit it out graves." brad demanded and ryan hummed. "she thought her- her boyfriend cheated on her. but it was a misunderstanding." he stated and brad was angry. "boyfriend?! what do you mean misunderstanding graves? spill it!" he said as kat took the kids outside. "she thought her boyfriend of 10 months cheated on her but it was only his sister that she heard. i just got off the phone with the dude so its been all cleared away, i just hadn't had the chance to tell her." and then he said softer, "and tell you he's coming here." ryan said not meeting his best friends eye sight. "here? are you mad ryan! who is this so i can knock some sense into him?" brad demanded and ryan was in for it. he was cornered, there was no getting out of this. "i cant say brad, only marie can." ryan said defeatedly and brad rolled his eyes. "so you're saying that you really arent her boyfriend?" and ryan now met his eye sight in shock. "you're telling me that you two haven't been together at least at some point?" he said and ryan laughed. "oh god no, shes my sister brad. you know she hates me half the time, for good reasons but no. i couldn't ever go down that path and there has never been a moment ever for me to. ew gross." ryan said and brad sighed. "always thought it was you two against the world... man i gotta pay up." he said amusedly. "pay up?" ryan said cocking an eyebrow. "a long running bet with patrice." and now it was ryans turn to laugh. the nova scotia princess was never his and would never be.
_
on the dock, marie thanked nate for listening to her ramble and cry into his shoulder before sidney sat down. nate rubbed her upper back, trying to comfort the girl. sidney sat down and offered her some kind words, and she thanked him. "i just don't know what was not good enough for him? what did i do wrong?" she said looking off into the clear lake. sid and nate looked at one another, silently trying to get the other speak up. "nothing sunshine, nothing. its all him." sid said trying to reassure the young girl he'd seen as a little sister since the day she was born. him and brad had been in practice together when they got the call from brad's dad, urging the boys to head down to the hospital with sid's dad. the moment he had seen the young girl was how he felt when his sister was born, he'd protect and be there for her through everything. "how about a boat day?" nate offered up and marie smiled. she could never and would never pass up a boat day.
it was around 10:30 pm and the original group that had been there when she'd shown up was back at the house, with all the kids passed out as they sat around talking, drinking and now making smores. ryan had been looking a this phone for the past two hours waiting to heard from nico, but nothing had come in since he had landed and was about to go through customs. marie had been having a great evening, her favorite people all in one place once again. celebrating her birthday that evening, and now talking like old times. ryan and marie sat with one another, cuddling up to stay warm now that a chill had set in. "dude, put your phone down for the princess' birthday." brad said annoyed that ryan and been on his phone for the better half of two hours. marie glared at brad, "its alright brad. no harm done." she sighed. she had a love hate relationship with the nickname, but most importantly when it was said out loud by brad. it made her cringe somewhat. "hows new york, mc?" nate asked and marie smiled then frowned softly before her smile reappeared. "its going great! work is going well and stuff. i even joined a soccer league for fun, it'll start up in august." she said swirling her drink. "we'll have to catch a game before we head to training camp." sid offered and the others agreed. she smiled softly, before ryan untangled himself from her after he got a text message. nico had arrived. brad eyed ryan as he got up and walked into the house. kat smiled softly knowing what was going to happen and nudged brad in the side a bit. "its fine, let them be." kat whispered and brad rolled his eyes.
marie shut her eyes softly, just basking in this moment, this evening and few days she had taken off of work to be here. it had been far too long since the last time she'd been home, always using her summers to train in san diego before returning to school. she hadn't been home in 6 years and promised herself that she'd make it up here more, now that she lived in new york. "oh princess!" she heard ryan call from the house and she sighed, standing up and throwing the blanket onto the seat before heading inside. "yes grumpy prince?" she asked giggling before she froze, seeing nico. he had a hopeful yet loving gaze on his face as she looked at him with tears beginning to form. what was he doing here? she turned towards ryan who had begun to make his way out, and she pulled him back inside as he was already through the threshold. "wanna tell me why he's here ryan?!" she asked upset. "ask him-" and she cut him off, "no, you tell me!" she screamed now alerting some of the guys outside. nico stood on the other side of the kitchen, with a defeated look on his face with guilt and regret spreading throughout his body. "he cheated on me and you're going to invite him here, ryan? tell me why that was a good idea, huh?" she pestered as brad walked in. "no fucking way." he muttered staring down nico, and nico took a step back. "answer me!" she yelled at ryan who held his hands up in innocence. "marie-" she cut off her brother, "you knew?!" she said stepping back away from the two. "let him explain himself." ryan said as she looked at the two people she thought she could trust in this world. thankfully, so far nate and sid hadn't given her any reason to distrust them. "let him explain, please. if you still don't believe him or want him gone- ill-we'll get rid of him." brad said pleading to his baby sister and she sighed, arms crossing over her chest. she turned slowly towards nico who had a pleading look, and her heart twinged just a bit. "fine." she said and the two smiled widely, backing out into the back and brad shut the doors.
"follow me." she said walking past him and they began their dissent up the stairs. she opened the door and let him walk past her into the room, and she shut it behind them. she then went to the window and shut the blinds, but not before flipping the group off. she heard groans and a few 'fuck' as they all wanted to hear and see the drama unfold. "i didn't cheat, schatzi. i promise." he began and she shook her head, "alright bud." she said rubbing her eyes. "i didn't baby, you have to believe me." he began again and she shook her head again. "who was it, huh? somebody like your ex? was it somebody better than me? what did i do wrong, ni. what did i do to hurt you?" she questioned through a strained voice. nico shook his head, "you've never hurt me, you've never done a thing wrong. promise. the girl-"he chuckled pulling her hands into his, inching closer to her. "the girl was my sister, nina." he said a bit amused now. his eyes crinkled as he smiled, his dimples on full display as he looked into the eyes of the girl, he loved. "wait what?" marie asked in disbelief. "your sister?" she asked and he nodded. she looked down and nico quickly diffused her guilt, "schatzi its ok, i promise!" he said pulling her chin up to look at him. she shook her head, "i - i mis read things and i feel like an idiot." she hummed tearing her chin away. "misunderstanding." he hummed and she frowned. "im sorry." she said with tears beginning to form, "im an idiot. oh my god." she said and he pulled her info a hug. he kissed her head, rubbing her back softly. "im a fool, im a utter fool how could i be so daft?" she rambled in french and nico chuckled, "you two have thing for the word daft?" and marie cursed the universe for him knowing french. "wait, two? who?" she questioned pulling back to look up at him. "nico yelled at me yesterday." he said laughing now and marie had a concerned look on her face, "how bad?" and that made nico laugh even louder. whenever she needed back up, he was there to give it. she looked up at nico as his laughs subsided and she stood on her tip toes to kiss him. he pulled her in closer, leaning down a bit so her feet could be flat. they pulled apart, resting their foreheads on each others. "so, how much trouble am i with the guys outside?" he questioned softly and now it was her turn to laugh.
it was the next morning now and marie woke up to an empty bed, groaning before getting out of bed. she made her way over to the blinds and opened the blinds to see kat, patrices and david's girlfriend, and the kids on the patio eating breakfast while all the guys are missing. she squinted over towards the lake and she did a double take before seeing her brother's boat. it was a crowded boat, with all of them sitting facing one another. she spotted nico and prayed that the guys weren't going too hard on him. after the two spoke last night, they made there way downstairs for a bit before nico was on the verge of passing out due to the time difference. she quickly changed into a white t-shirt and linen pants, before heading down he stairs. "ti!" she heard rue screamed as she walked outside, and quickly made her way over towards the older girl. she wrapped her arms around the girl's legs before rue pulled her up for a hug. "good morning my girl." she said speaking in french as the two shared a small moment in the morning sun. "hows my favorite god daughter?" she hummed and kat laughed, "your only god daughter." she mused. marie giggled, "that's why she's my favorite." she said setting her back down in her height chair, and sat down on the bench with noah , patrice's son. "ouu cinnamon rolls!" the girl overly gushed, garnering some giggles from the kids. "ever the oldest child." kat teased and marie winked, "i take my role very seriously." she hummed.
the boat was on its way back now after a very stern talk with nico, unfortunately. basically threatening his very existence if he were to ever step out of line. the usual. oh, and that there was somebody or two on every team who would not hesitate to teach him a lesson. nico and the guys all got off onto the dock, with ryan running in front to get some cinnamon rolls- steal is more like it. "hey! that's for us." marie said swatting his hand away as he came up behind her, "i swear to god grumps, im gonna cut off your hand." she said quirking an eyebrow between the two's showdown. "good morning princess!" brad said placing a kiss on the girl's head before stealing a cinnamon roll himself. "hey, not fair!" ryan said and marie mimicked him, earning a chorus laugh from the kids. "im the one that brought them." brad said shrugging, "no i did." sid said and patrice shook his head, "you brought the original one's, i was told to pick up another dozen." patrice said picking up his youngest, felix. "yall are too much in the morning." she mumbled in french, standing up and walking inside to get some coffee. nico followed her into the kitchen to get a refill on his, to which she happily poured him some. "how bad was it?" she questioned, peering around him quickly and then looked back at him. he shrugged, "theyre just as scary in life as on ice." he said and she giggled. "yeah...they have no filter." she said pushing a strand of hair behind his ear. "tell me about 'nova scotia princess'." and she rolled her eyes, "the fairest of them all." he added with a grin and she growled loudly. "you inconceivable fools!" she yelled out, making her way outside. "im going to kill you all!!!!" she said looking at sid, nate, ryan and brad. she did a fake start towards brad before going after nate, "come here nathaniel!" she screamed running after the man, who was, unfortunately, being outrun by a 5'4 semi-retired defenceman. "somebody help me here!" nate called out and sid began his dissent, but she was too quick and made her way after him. "you are so getting in that water!" she screamed, referring to a tradition the 5 of them had. a surprise morning swim in the cold water. "its cold!" one of the kids screamed and marie laughed. "perfect!" she grinned. ryan tapped nico, "lets get our girl." ryan said nodding towards the brunette and nico smiled. "lets get her." and the two made their way towards the water where she was running after the two. "no!" she screamed as ryan almost grabbed the girl. "don't you dare!" she said jumping a few feet away from him. thankfully with sid and nate being neighbors, she freely began her way towards their places with the group following her. nico was the one closest to and almost grabbed her as well but she took a step to her right and was out of reach, "alright i gotta do it myself!" brad announced jogging over and marie knew it was game over. "not the old man!" she gasped, earning a few chuckles.
it was not brad who got the girl but nico, who was immediately instructed to drop her off the dock and into the lake. she screamed, cried, and kicked but unsuccessfully as she felt water hit her back. as she came up, everybody else decided it would be a great idea to also jump in. she covered her head momentarily before splashing water in all directions, "you! you traitor!" she said with astonishment as nico tried to get closer. ryan dunked her before she could say anything else, and nico laughed with the rest of them. she came back up and pushed ryan, "rude!" "the princess of nova scotia is officially home!" brad said as he made his way towards her, ready to splash her as well.

Worth It
Prompt by @sphesphe: Krej doing mixology and inventing new drinks 😁
Sorry it took me a little bit but here ya go, I'm not too sure if this is 100% what you want but I hope you like it :D
David enjoys being behind the bar. He likes finding things to do with his hands, listening to the ambience and picking up every piece of gossip he can hear. However, right now it is past closing time, and no one else is in the bar lounge at the moment, not yet anyway. Preparing a glass to busy his hands, he remembers what it was like when he first came to Boston. Speaking barely a lick of English, just looking for a fresh start far away from his home country of Czechia. He was lucky to have found Zdeno and having been allowed to open The Garden on Bruins home turf. So yeah, he knows what it was like to come into a brand-new environment and make the weirdest most loyal and bloodthirsty bunch of friends. He has often been asked if coming to the U.S. to open a bar/club was worth it, and at most times he would say yes. He doesn't know what it must be like for Brad. For his first night in Boston, in the middle of an alleyway scrapping with drunk bullies way bigger than him, only to get picked up and dragged to the bar by the scruff of his neck by Zdeno. He was tough for a smaller man, fighting the whole way back to The Garden, denying first aid despite his bleeding nose and bruised lip, all while mouthing off until Bergy gave him his most potent sad disappointed eyes. And from that night Brad became their lawyer, their get-out-of-holding free card, their bail. It's only been a year and now he doesn't know what life with the Bruins would be without Brad. David is not a man of many words. He shows his feelings, messages, through actions. So, on the one-year anniversary when he first met their feisty little squirrel, he's waiting for Brad to come out of the meeting with Bergy on taxes. Eugh. 5 more minutes. 5 more minutes til he comes out according to Patrice. He hopes Marchy would enjoy what he had prepared. He did spend days trying to figure out what type of drink would best describe Marchy. He ended up with something simple: a Nectarine Gin Cocktail, fine-tuned by adding just a pinch of cinnamon. A sweet mixture with a hint of spice. He mashes up some ginger and adds it to a tall glass along with some honey, elderflower syrup and cinnamon along with some gin and stirred the mixture. The chilled glass he prepared is so clean it looks like it's shining on its own. He shovels some ice into the glass, making a soft clinking noise. Music to his ears. He then pours the mixture into the glass and adds in the tonic. Finally, adding a sprig of mint as a garnish and he's done. One minute. He puts the finished drink onto a coaster and pulls out the creme brûlée he made the night before from the fridge and onto a plate. Upon hearing the door to the lounge open, he proceeds to dramatically salt-bae some sugar on top. Soft snickers from two distinct voices come toward him. He pulls out the blowtorch and starts browning the sugar. "Krej, what's all this?" He hears Brad ask. He looks up to see an amused but confused face. "Well, it's been a year since we dragged you in here kicking and screaming, and you dealt with our bullshit and weird law-aversion. So it's only fair to thank you for sticking around and handling our tax evasion for us. It's yours, hope you enjoy it." Watching Brad's face light up and Patrice looking on fondly, he would definitely agree it is most worth it coming to Boston.
Well I hope you enjoyed it. It kinda could use some fine-tuning but :pppppp I really need to pick writing back up lmao

brad/bergy with the word "small" for the ask game?
Send me a ship/character(s) and a one word prompt and I will write a 5(***) sentence fic about it.
The arena lights are blinding, the crowd deafening, and the moment monumental, but he still takes a moment to pause. These are the last few seconds he has to himself before a big part of his life changes forever. Irrevocably.
The memory that Brad lingers on is one worn smooth with age and repeated recall: standing in front of a hotel mirror after another rough, chippy game in the early days. Barely done sweating, half undressed, he'd been wasting his time rubbing his fingers over the bridge of his nose and letting some nothing-comment about his face from some long-forgotten player get to him. Plaintive, muttering to himself, he'd said, "It couldn't have been smaller?"
Then there'd been Bergy, peaking through the bathroom doorframe with that nosey way no one believes he sometimes has. At first breath there's concern, followed by the pleased expression of a man who'd thought of the perfect joke. "Aren't you small enough already?" he had asked Brad, coming from behind to set his hands on his hips and the full weight of his body across his shoulders.
Brad had grunted, shifted his stance to take the weight and hold them both upright. It hadn't occurred to him to complain (nor would it ever). He let himself be goaded into replying, "Hey, now. I'm proud of my size!"
And beyond the shitty joke, he really was, he is -- all of this power and ability is no coincidence, not in the way that genetics can be, and he's always put the work in to making his body a worthy reflection of his passion for the game. Anyone could chirp him for his height, but not for that. His vanity, maybe, but not that he didn't have anything worth flaunting.
Pat had smirked, then, as though Brad was a hapless woodland creature that had just stumbled right into his trap. "Some parts of you are small and some" -- a hint of a leer, a squeeze of his hips -- "are big, but they're all pieces of the person you've made yourself into. You made it here and you make your own choices now. No one can deny you any of that. And I happen to like this person a lot, which should be worth something, too, hm?"
At the time, Brad had laughed a little, smiled coyly, and led Bergy away from his lapse into insecurity and vulnerability (which looked a lot like luring him out of the bathroom and into the bedroom). The moment had faded into a song and dance Brad was more familiar with, where affection could be given and taken in ways that pleased them both and the only underbelly he had to expose was the one he'd sculpted into perfection. There was no risk to be had there, but plenty of reward -- and Bergy. In hindsight, Brad had always had Bergy.
In the days and weeks and years following that hotel room, he's pulled the memory of their conversation out on quiet nights to turn Bergy's words over and over again in his mind, trying to decide if Brad could ever agree with them -- agree with the way Pat saw him, then.
Eventually, he'd come to peace with them, where they no longer prickled over his darker thoughts and made him want to lash out just to prove Pat wrong for once. Then, something close to acceptance came, where he knew Patty to be right even if he couldn't quite believe him.
As it does, a lot has changed in the time since that conversation. Here and now, Brad takes his first steps onto the ice as the captain of the Boston Bruins, all while remembering the way Patrice had smiled at him through the mirror as he spoke those words about becoming directly into his heart. Brad knows that these next steps will take him somewhere completely new, to moments he never expected and through a solitude he never could have wanted -- but, even then, Brad will carry forward the pieces of flesh and memory that shape him. He will carry them into these new places and make them a home.
With a proud, steady breath, he lifts his face to the crowd.

marcheron, sailor
Brad stood on the dock amongst the other spouses, searching desperately for his husband. Though none of the people around him knew that. He was perfectly happy to keep it to himself. He would celebrate- worship, his sailor fresh off the USS Massachusetts all by himself. The war was over, and he could do whatever his heart desired behind their closed bedroom door.

ik what ur probably gonna say buttt can you do a Brad Marchand smut with him as a Dom and rough, degrading with some praise...and maybe smith abt him getting Into a fight during a game so he's yk pissed...hehe thx!
a/n: please count yourself lucky that I’m gonna write this ONE thing about the rat sorry I mean brad. this is going in blurb style but it’s much longer than a blurb. (if you know me you know I have a hard time making things short lol)
Tumblr media
pairing: brad marchand x fem!reader
warnings: minor spelling & grammatical errors + nsfw + established relationship + praise kink (ish)+ mentions of nudity + not intended for minors + my hatred for him leaks into this (sorry not sorry)
《 the following content is not intended for minors. 》
why couldn’t he ever just play a normal game of hockey? you thought to yourself. you were watching the game from the comfort of you and brads shared home. he always had to do something to get himself in trouble, fined, or suspended. he was always the problem during games and it pissed you off.
you sat there, hand clutching the small remote trying to get yourself to turn off the television, but you couldn’t pull away from the fight. there was brad in the middle of it, as usual. you watched him take two hands on his stick to shove a maple leafs player down to the ground, another leafs player came from behind him putting him in a choke hold and other bruins players came to defend your husband.
the gloves were flying, helmets were thrown off, refs were prying their way in, and the whistles were just background noise to the cheering and booing. every bone in your body itched to turn away, but you couldn’t. you had to see what was going to happen, and you had to know what punishment your stupid husband was going to get.
once the fire of the fight died out, and the refs had gathered the players to take a time out, the main ref took to center ice where bruins fans already began booing, “number sixty-three, cross checking two minute penalty,” he rambled on the list of other players who were taking one for their respective teams as well.
the camera panned over to brad plopping down on the bench in the penalty box, shaking his head you could make out the words he was yelling, “this is bullshit!” the ref just shook his head and the game continued with a 4-on-4 for 2 minutes.
finally being able to pull away now that the fight was over, you made your way into the kitchen to pour yourself a heavy glass of wine. the fight wasn’t even that brutal, but you needed something strong to ease your frustration.
you chugged what was in your glass before pouring yourself a second one to make your way back to the game. just as you sat down brad was getting out of the penalty box and soon this game would be over. there was only six minutes left in the third period and the bruins were winning 2-1. even though there was only six minutes remaining you didn’t know how much more of it you could take. you were still so fed up with his behavior that you found yourself grabbing the remote and turning off the television. you’d figure if the game was a win or loss, brad would tell you. you just couldn’t watch it any longer.
you got up off the couch deciding to get just get ready for bed. it was either sit there and stew in hate, or get up and occupy your mind with something else.
going into your bathroom, flicking on the lights you found the mess of his things laid out all on the counter. he couldn’t seem to care to put any of it away while he was rushing to leave. he had time to have a pregame make out session with you, but the little things were where he drew the line.
sighing to yourself, you began to put his things on his side of the sink and do your tasks. something about doing your skincare and brushing your teeth, seemed to ease your mind and help you forget the game. but it wasn’t until you heard the sound of the front door open that reminded you of why you were in the bathroom in the first place.
“home!” you heard him announce from the living room, but you stayed put in the bathroom. brad noticed the almost empty bottle of wine and the lipgloss stain around the rim. taking off his coat, he went to go find you.
you were to occupied to even notice that he was standing in the doorframe of the bathroom watching you brush your teeth aggressively. he could tell you were upset, usually most games you were right there at the front door to celebrate, but just like you, he wasn’t so happy with how the game went.
“so the silent treatment it is, huh?” his body rested against the frame of the doorway. looking over at him you nearly dropped your toothbrush in the sink. his shirt collar exposed the bruises on his chest, and he had a minor scratch on his face.
“well I normally don’t go around cross checking people for no reason.” you snapped, wiping your face with a towel and setting your toothbrush back in its respective place, you brushed past brad out of the bathroom feeling his hand smack your ass gently.
“you clearly didn’t see what else happened, y/n. it’s a brutal fucking game, and you don’t win by playing soft.” he followed you into the bedroom, both of you now getting undressed and ready for bed.
sure, hockey was rough. but it gave no excuse for his past or current actions in the game. you glared over at him for second watching him unbutton his dress shirt, “brad, that doesn’t mean you get to go around and hurt people for the sake of the game! your actions hurt people.”
he scoffed at your words throwing his dress shirt in the overflowing laundry hamper, “I’ve never hurt anyone.”
you laughed dryly at his comment, “yeah tell that to all the fines and suspension you’ve gotten over the past two years.”
you went to exit the bedroom and grab your water from the living room when you felt his cold hand grab your wrist and pull you into his bare chest, “don’t say shit like that about me again.” he whispered into your ear, pushing you from him, your back hit the wall and you let out a small groan.
“or what, brad? what are you gonna do?” you smirked, you knew he wouldn’t actually hurt you, but whatever idea he had in mind you were in for it. you craved whatever it was that got him going.
“make you regret that.” his lips smashed against yours, and his hands made his way to your ass pulling you closer to him so you could feel how hard he was. he loved when you talked back, even if you truly were mad, it turned him on.
“then make me.” you whispered against his skin undoing his belt and throwing it on the ground along side his other clothes. he quickly removed your shirt, picking you up, he tossed you on the bed before getting on top of you and you unzipped his dress pants.
“oh I’m gonna.” he muttered, his teeth nibbled on your neck feeling his hands in your pajama shorts his fingers found a way inside of you causing a moan to escape your mouth. you were practically dripping wet from the moment his hands touched you.
“feel good?” he asked, his fingers tugged on your panties, pulling them down. he inserted himself inside of you, sending a wave of shock down your spin causing your back to arch with pleasure. your nails dug into his skin feeling his body grind against yours. his pace picked up and the bed began to shake and rattle against the wall. it felt so good.
“you feel so good,” you nibbled into the skin on his shoulder blade trying to suppress down your screams. brad didn’t hold back on his grunting, he was going to come at any moment, and it was going to be inside of you.
finally feeling the warmth inside of you enter, brad collapsed beside your body that felt almost lifeless. you looked over at his sweaty body, panting, wanting more. his eyes met yours and he pulled your body beside his, “don’t ever say shit like that to me again, pretty girl.”

bergys down. shit.
brad went from observing the play and trying to work it out in his head, to complete shock as he watched his husband collapse in pain onto the ice.
“i know, looked like a rough shot eh?” marchy’s canadian accent lied in thick. he kneeled in front of patrice sitting in his stall, slightly hunched over as he tried his best to avoid putting pressure on his nose while he readjusted the bandaids on his face.
“mhm. i’ll live, though” pat shrugged it off like it was nothing, virtually the same way as he was back a couple shifts later during the game.
brad scanned over his nose again, refraining from feeling out every inch. instead, he intertwined his hand in pat’s and pushed himself up a bit to lay a gentle kiss on his forehead.
“y’know what i love about you?”
“yeah? what’s that”
“how you’re so gritty even after shit like this happens” marchy wore his distinctive toothy grin, bringing pat’s knuckles to his lips as he laid small, fleeting kisses all over his hand. everyone else in the locker room was tuned out, until the mental silence was replace and interrupted by their wolf whistles.
“bergy, you’re a fuckin unit, bud!” pasta yelled over the noise, followed by chuckles from the rest of the team.
he definitely was.

so @plethoriall and I were inspired by @ticklefighthockey’s dark and grimy AU flash outline exercise, (full credit to them for the idea!) and decided to wrtie some of our own for the variuos combos of Sid/Marchy/Bergy. inspired by that one summer they all lived togehter in Nova Scotia, and also the weirdly intense things they say about each other all the time to the media (affectionate). dark and grimy AU focused so dubcon and other darkfic themes to be found in these.
Tumblr media
Sidney Crosby/Patrice Bergeron – Patrice and Sid are members of a strict religious cult that believes that relationships that aren’t alpha/omega or beta/beta are a sin, and stand against the natural order of things. The cult is relatively remote, and arranged marriages within it are the norm; omegas have no rights over their eventual mate and are expected to remain pure until the mating ceremony. The cult leader, who has several mates already, fully expects to add Sid to his household. Patrice and Sid are childhood friends, and Patrice (as an alpha) makes a formal claim – which can only be cemented with the ritual and public claiming of an omega. Because this takes place outside of Sid’s heat schedule, it’s painful, and he has to be held down throughout by other members of the cult. Although he still holds deep affection for Patrice, Sid keeps trying (and failing) to come to terms with the hurt and humiliation of the ceremony, as well as the power Patrice holds over him, making their relationship unsteady. At the same time, Patrice is trying to figure a way out of this remote cult but isn’t communicating this plan at all to Sid.
Tumblr media
Sidney Crosby/Brad Marchand – Brad is an omega in the NHL, and usually relishes in defying stereotypes in order to prove a point, especially to sports media. He’s aggressive, combative, and oftentimes dirty in his play, and as a result he usually escapes a lot of the general condescension that the occasional omegas in the NHL face. The one thing Brad won’t do is fuck anyone, believing his virginity to be a condition of their respect for him. He goes into a surprise heat at an away game, playing the Penguins, and Sid breaks down the door to get to him. In the process, Brad’s repressed memories resurface and reveal to the reader that the underlying motivator behind his virginity isn’t just a lot of discrimination shaped by a very toxic culture around him, it’s also that he was sexually assaulted in juniors, when he first presented.
[Note: am uncommitted whether this narrative would be more interesting/compelling if Sid is an alpha or an omega? This is the one that’s least fleshed out]
Tumblr media
Patrice Bergeron/Sidney Crosby/Brad Marchand – Mario and Patrice are the heads of two powerful mafia families in the northeastern United States, although both originally made their fortunes smuggling black market booze and cigarettes down from Quebec. Both are currently facing increased threats from rival families and mobs trying to make advancements into their respective territories, and as a result want to strengthen their (mostly informal) alliance. Patrice will send third-in-command Sully as an ally and friend to the Pittsburgh family, where he will help handle logistics for Mario, as well as smoothing over any logistics in the movement of supplies between the two territories. In return, Sid – long thought to be Mario’s eventual partner – will go to the Boston family, ostensibly to be married to Patrice’s second-in-command, Brad. The arrangement is of course all for show, as Patrice and Brad are already romantically involved and it’s understood that Sid will be returned to Mario “unspoiled.” Patrice and Brad increasingly begin to feel romantically towards Sid, and treat him not like a platonic part of their relationship, with severe future consequences for his return to Mario’s family.

So I was just watching Matty Healy’s “celebrity school run” interview from BCC Radio One, and my mind jumped right to imagining Sirius with a couple awestruck hockey kids in the back of his truck, navigating questions as he drives them around (maybe to hockey practice instead of school??)! Congrats on finishing finals!! <3

Fic O'Ween Day 9: Sugar Rush! Cap credit to @lumosinlove and fest credit to @noots-fic-fests <3 Cutie patootie start to the weekend!
“Ask him!”
“I don’t wanna ask. You do it.”
“Everything alright back there?”
A small boy in a blue shirt dropped an elbow into the side of his, equally small yet significantly blonder, companion. “How does the internet work?” the blond boy blurted.
In the front seat, Sirius Black frowned at the road. “Quoi?”
“I told you it was a dumb question!” a redheaded little girl whispered across the seat.
“The internet,” the blond boy repeated, twisting the pocket of his cargo shorts into a nub in his fist. “How’s it work?”
“Uh…”
“My mom said the government tells you on your first adult birthday,” the dark-haired boy informed him as he leaned forward onto the console. “So you’ve gotta know, ‘cause you’re totally an adult.”
“Your mother is right, Ethan,” Sirius agreed. His eyes darted to the small camera stuck on the car’s dashboard. “That’s—yes, you’ll have to wait until you’re eighteen to find out. I can’t tell you. It would be illegal.”
Ethan rolled his eyes. “But you’re Canadian, so American laws don’t apply to you.”
“It’s international.” Suburban homes rolled past outside, surrounded by fresh spring foliage. “The UN decided on that rule.”
“Aw, man.”
“Are you really getting married?” the redheaded girl piped up.
“Yes.”
“When?”
“Summer.”
“But when?”
“Summer,” Sirius repeated with a laugh.
“What day?” She poked her head between the front seats as well, bumping shoulders with Ethan. “Can we come?”
“Definitely not. Both of you, sit back, you’re going to get hurt.” Sirius glanced into the rearview mirror as he turned onto another narrow street. “Look at Jacob. He’s doing it right.”
Jacob preened, shooting each of his companions a Cheshire grin. “Lydia said you’re getting married to your boyfriend. Is that true?”
“Fiance, but yes.” Sirius reached back to shoo Lydia and Ethan back into their seats, one hand on the wheel. “Why do you know so much about my wedding? Aren’t you supposed to ask me hockey questions?”
“We have time. School doesn’t start for an hour.” Lydia folded her hands in her lap and squinted to look out at the road. “Also, my sister plays hockey and she was telling me that her team was telling her that you're gonna be the first married hockey player ever.”
“That’s…that’s not true.”
“Of course it is.”
“There are so many married hockey players!” Sirius laughed.
“Oh yeah?” Jacob challenged. “Who?”
“James Potter, Pascal Dumais, Sergei Ivanov, Adam Fox, Mika Zibanejad, Brad Marchand—I think most NHL players are married, actually.”
“Is the Earth actually round, or is the government lying?” Ethan asked, picking at the back of Sirius’ seat.
Sirius pressed his lips together for a moment. “Ah,” he began, coughing through a laugh. “Nope, it’s definitely round. People have known that for a long time.”
“My uncle says the government lies a lot.”
“Well, my uncle works for the government,” Jacob scoffed.
“Well—”
“Why is the Earth round?” Lydia butted in. “I think you’re lying. If it was round, everything in Australia would be upside down.”
“Oh god,” Sirius muttered. “Okay, new rule: no flat Earth discussions in the car.”
“Cause you’re lying?”
“Cause Galileo is spinning in his grave.”
“Isn’t that the bird from the movie with the girl and the volcano and the lizard and Russell Crowe and that one lady?”
Jacob gasped and turned to her. “My mom loves Russell Crowe! Y’know, Mr. Sirius Black, you kinda look like Russell Crowe.”
“No, he doesn’t.”
“He kinda does,” Ethan admitted.
“Nuh-uh.”
“Yuh-huh.”
“Nuh-uh.”
“Yuh-huh.”
“Nuh—”
“Okay,” Sirius announced as he paused at a stoplight with a thousand-yard stare. “We’re not doing any ‘nuh-uh’s until you are safely at school. Do you act like this when your parents are driving?”
All three children stared at him from the backseat. For a singular second, their fidgeting paused. “Like what?” Lydia asked, clearly bewildered. “The lady with the camera told us to ask you questions.”
Sirius seemed to process that for a beat. His fingertips drummed on the steering wheel while they waited for the light to change. “I’m starting to realize I don’t spend enough time with kids to know how you’re supposed to act.”
“Isn’t your brother a million years younger than you?”
“Six years.”
Lydia gave him a skeptical look over her glasses. “I’m only eight, so that’s basically forever.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.”
“How come clouds have different shapes?” Ethan asked. “Is it because birds fly through them and turn them all thin after they’re fluffy?”
“No, the wind does that.”
“Why?”
“It’s the wind, it doesn’t have reasons.”
“How do you know.”
“Because I’m an adult. Hey, look, a pigeon.”
All three children lunged toward the window, straining at their seatbelts and booster seats. Sirius glanced at the dashcam with a small, pleased smile and made a smooth left turn onto Main Street. “Where is it?” Jacob asked eagerly. “Was it big? What color was it? I don’t see it.”
“Oh, I think it was in the parking lot back there,” Sirius said casually. “Keep an eye out, see if there are more.”
“I’m never allowed to ask adults this many questions,” Lydia gushed, swinging her feet above the floor of the car. “Do you pay taxes?”
“Yes.”
“How do they work?”
“Good question. I have no idea.”
Ethan, apparently tired of pigeon-spotting, sat up straight and began peeling a sticker off the side of his booster. “Do you speak French?”
“Ouais.”
“Can you say something in French?”
“Ouais,” Sirius repeated with a grin.
“Please?”
“I just did.”
“Way,” Ethan mimicked. “Ha! That sounds like a duck. Wah-wah-wah-wah—”
“Yellow punch buggy.”
A flurry of movement and stifled ‘ow’s followed on swift wings; Sirius winced, but didn’t seem particularly regretful. “So,” he tried again. “What do you guys like to do at school?”
“Have lunch.”
“Read.”
“Recess.”
He nodded with a light laugh. “You know what, that’s fair.”
Jacob cocked his head to the side. “Did you like school?”
“I loved school.”
“What was your favorite subject?”
“Math.” A simultaneous false gag from three different mouths made him jump slightly, glancing over his shoulder. “Jesus—”
“I hate math,” Lydia declared. “We started multiplication and it makes my head hurt.”
“That’s unfortunate.”
Ethan’s nose wrinkled. “I like math, but it’s definitely not my favorite. Hey, do you have tattoos?”
“No.”
“Can we see them?”
Sirius’ brow knit. “I just told you I don’t have any.”
“You’re a hockey player, you gotta have tattoos. Thomas Walker has them, Cole Reyes has them, James Potter has them…”
“James doesn’t have tattoos,” Sirius snorted. “Where are you getting your information?”
“My brother. He knows everything.”
“How old is he?”
“Eleven.”
Sirius nodded slowly, biting the inside of his cheek. “A wise age.”
“How many teeth are you missing?”
“None, dude,” Jacob interrupted. “Didn’t you see earlier? He has perfect teeth. Hey, Mr. Sirius Black, did you have braces?”
“No.”
“Your teeth just grew like that?”
“Mhmm.”
“I just lost a tooth last week.”
Sirius stopped at the corner, looking over his shoulder at them. “Oh, really? Your first?”
“Nah, my fifth,” Jacob answered, as jaded as a third-grader could get. “It’s boring now. I got a quarter for it, though. My sister wanted to tie it to a doorknob, but my dad didn’t let her.”
Lydia nodded solemnly. “My cousin lost her first tooth when a piñata hit her.”
“I lost mine while I was eating a tuna sandwich,” Ethan added. “Then it was a blood sandwich. It was crazy.”
“Gross,” Lydia said with great approval.
Apparently satisfied with the direction the conversation had gone, the car remained near-silent for almost fifteen seconds. They headed past several gas stations (and their pigeon-filled parking lots) before stopping once again at a red light.
Ethan let out a loud gasp. “Tim Hortons!”
Sirius turned as if on instinct, craning his neck, before he seemed to realize the danger of the situation. Lydia slapped at the back of the driver’s seat with an excited hand, bouncing in her booster. “We gotta go, we gotta go, we gotta go.”
To his credit, Sirius spared a half-second to consider it. “Absolutely not.”
To his demise, Sirius spared a half-second to consider it. They fell on him like miniature wolves to a downed caribou.
“Please,” Ethan begged. “Please, please, their hot cocoa is so good, you don’t understand.”
“I’m Canadian, I understand better than you do.”
“Then we have to go!”
“There is no world where I get three kids on a Tim Horton’s sugar rush before school.” He shook his head and began turning off Main Street. “Not in this lifetime. Your teachers would hunt me for sport.”
“You’re Canadian! You’re—you’re Queb—” Ethan made a frustrated noise and turned to Jacob. “What’s the word for Quebec people?”
“…Canadians…?”
“Quebecois,” Sirius informed him. His eyes widened slightly. “Wow, is that the first question you’ve asked that I can actually answer?”
“You’re Quebecois,” Ethan continued, stumbling over each syllable. He made it there in the end, but not before everyone else in the car made a pained face. “That means you have to take us to Tim Horton’s.”
“No.”
Lydia’s eyes were fever-bright in the backseat, as if she had knocked back a handful of jellybeans and Red Bull. “Timmy’s, Timmy’s, Timmy’s…”
“Please, no.”
Jacob and Ethan brightened immediately, because of course they did. Sirius watched the road in mournful disbelief, like he was driving into his personal hell with no exit ramp in sight. “TIMMY’S, TIMMY’S, TIMMY’S—”
“I’ve never having children.”
“TIMMY’S, TIMMY’S, TIMMY’S, TIMMY’S—”
The shouting came to an abrupt halt. Sirius parked the car under the shade of a large oak tree and waited for several seconds, until all three kids started to exchange wary looks. The silence dragged on. Polyester and cotton rustled.
Sirius rested his elbow on the console and turned to the backseat, one eyebrow raised. “Are we done?”
“Are you gonna turn this car around?” Jacob whispered in quiet horror.
“Non. I have a deal for you, though.” Instant curiosity overcame their concern. Sirius held three fingers up. “One: don’t kick the back of my seat. Two: don’t yell in my car, it’s very distracting. Three: Count five pigeons by the time we get to school. I will ask your parents if I can bring you Timbits—”
Gasps of delight filled the car.
“—if you promise to do all three of those things.”
Jacob tucked his hands under his legs, all but vibrating with anticipation. “Can you get cinnamon ones?”
“Can you find five pigeons?”
“Of course I can,” he whispered.
Sirius nodded. “I’ll see what I can do.”
“Do you make a million bajillion dollars?” Lydia asked.
“Non. But I do have money for Timbits for nice kids who ask cool questions.”
Ethan’s mouth fell open. “We’re nice kids who ask cool questions!”
“Oh, yeah?”
“Yeah.”
Sirius gave a teasing hum. “I don’t know. Think you can prove it in the next five minutes?”
“What kind of dog do you have?” Lydia asked without hesitation.
“Oh, that is a good question.” The car rumbled to life, and they pulled onto the road without issue. “I don’t know. She’s black, and she has pointy ears.”
“How long do you want to play hockey?”
“Oof. A while. Maybe ten more years? We’ll see.”
Ethan finished peeling the sticker off his booster seat and reached over Lydia to stick it on Jacob’s. “Is being an adult fun?”
“Yes.”
“Is it hard?”
“Yes.”
“If you could get in a time machine and be eight again, would you do it?”
“No.”
Jacob frowned. “How come?”
“Because I like being able to make my own dinner, I would miss my friends, and I wouldn’t be able to get Tim Horton’s whenever I want to.”
Lydia started to kick the back of his seat in boredom, but quickly tucked her foot behind her other leg. “If you were eight and went to our school, do you think we would be friends?”
Sirius smiled, moving slowly past a wire fence. “Sure.”
“Can you say more French stuff?”
“Comme quoi?”
“Um—can you say ‘hello’?”
“Bonjour.”
Jacob chewed on his lower lip. “Can you say…this school is super cool?”
“Cette école est très cool.”
“Is ‘cool’ the same in both?”
“Ouais.”
“Okay, stop, stop, you gotta do English now,” Ethan said hurriedly, waving his hands. “I don’t speak French.”
“That’s okay, you can learn,” Sirius laughed. They rolled to a stop in a mostly-empty section of the parking lot; he waved to someone outside, and the children quickly followed suit. He propped his arm on the console again and raised his eyebrows. “I think your parents are ready to have you back. Any last questions?”
“Do you like books?”
“What’s your favorite color?”
“What kind of Timbits do you like?’
“Have you been playing hockey since before we were born?”
“How does electricity work?”
“Do you kiss your boyfriend? Oh, yeah, how do cars work?”
“How come the sky changes colors but the ocean doesn’t?”
Sirius didn’t miss a beat. “Yes, blue, all of them, yes, I think it’s something with electrons and metal? Yes, engines and combustion, and because the sky and the ocean are made of different things.”
“Okay,” Jacob said with a decisive nod. “Cool! Thanks!”
“Thank you, this was lots of fun.” Sirius unbuckled his seat belt and stepped out of the car, then came around and opened the backseat door for them. They spilled out in a pile, each meeting his gentle fist-bump with incredible enthusiasm that only grew when he feigned injury at the strength of their hands. Their booster seats came free with little finagling. “Alright, go see your parents. I can carry these.”
“Wait!” Lydia yelped, turning on her heel halfway through a step. “What about the Timbits?”
“Nobody kicked my seat or yelled,” Sirius mused, gathering the boosters in his arms. “Pigeons?”
“Two on the sidewalk, one in the parking lot, and two at the Gas ‘n Sip,” Jacob announced.
“Then they’ll be here when you get out of school,” he promised. They shook on it, tiny hands dwarfed by his palm, before they were off at a sprint once more. “Be safe! Don’t trip on the concrete!”

just part of a WIP from right after the Bruins vs Krakens game
“Sorry March, can you repeat that?” Brad shakes his head, “No, it’s okay. It’s nothing.” Brandon knows something is definitely up and he is not letting this go.  “No, it’s not okay. C’mon Marchy, don’t hide away from us.”  More silence. Until he hears the dumbest and most incorrect thing that ever came out of Brad Marchand’s mouth. “Is it me? Did I make the wrong calls? Am I looking at the right things to improve on? I don’t think I should be captain. I know I’m not Bergy or Krech but I’m trying and I’m still fucking up. And we keep losing and we keep falling and I’m just here fucking things up.” And suddenly, louder, “Oh fuck. Fuck. Krech said not to let him down and oh fucking christ I’m letting him down and I just can’t seem to get things right and I’m just disappointing them now fuck.”  At this point Brad’s voice turns from an almost whisper to gasps and sobs. And Brandon is hurt. Hurting for his captain. Hurting for the rest of the team. Hurting that all he could do is to hold him tighter and try his best to tell him that no, no that’s not true at all. He wishes Patrice were here, just a little though, as he is one of the few able to dispel Brad’s insecurities the most. He envies Patrice’s closeness to Brad, just a little. His suit is damp and he doesn’t give a damn about it. He pulls out his phone and clicks on Coyle’s name.  Bambi: tell everyone to bring their sleep stuff and duvets to Marchy’s room when we get back. No one’s sleeping alone tonight if i can help it CCCCC: 👌 After that confirmation he puts his phone away and starts pulling Brad towards the bench where his clothes are.  “C’mon let’s wipe you down and we can go back to the hotel, okay?" A slight nod. Which is better than nothing.
Yea I had some feels about the games
The whole time I was like well fuck after losing both krej and bergy he's gotta be internalizing this shit now
And since Brando's now the designated big huggy comfort its up to him to take charge and get their captain some cuddles with the team
a not so lil bit of Carlo x Marchy if ur ok with that, theres gonna be swaymark too
Yea its also kinda based on the Team Bed AU by BlueJay141519 on AO3 so go check that out too Hug Me Shy - Bluejay141519 - Men's Hockey RPF [Archive of Our Own] (i dont know their tumblr or any other handle im so sorry)

brad/bergy, “small” for the ask game :)
Send me a ship/character(s) and a one word prompt and I will write a 5* sentence fic about it.
Patrice knows that, despite all of the evidence on the contrary, sometimes the thing Brad wants most in the world is to feel small.
Their job can come with a heavy weight and the role Brad has taken upon himself weighs on him just as much as any other. The two of them find their different ways to become imposing for the ice -- it's just that they don't live their entire lives on the ice.
Behind closed doors, Brad will occasionally shrink down into a man made of gentle angles, soft edges, and an open expression. This is the part of him that can't exist during a game, on a broadcast, or in front of an audience. His vulnerability is a private affair and, just on these occasions, Patrice doesn't fight the urge to put him somewhere safe.
And Patrice is of the opinion that the safest place for Brad is where Patrice can watch over him, so that's what he does: he settles into place behind Brad and holds the line. He can loom large enough to fill the space Brad leaves behind. He's ready and willing to take the weight for a little while -- it's nothing, compared to the way Brad puts his body on the line for him on the ice, but Patrice is proud to do it.
If Brad needs to feel small, Patrice is fine with that -- so long as he does it at Patrice's feet.

Hi idk if you're still doing it, but if you are, Brando/Marchy with "Big" please?
Brandon smirked as Brad settled on his lap. He held his hands up and allowed him to fiddle with the button on his jeans and clumsily tug them down. Had he knows that Brad had this much of a size kink he would have done something about it far sooner. His smirk grew as his boxers were finally pulled past down his legs. He whined, “Fuck, you’re so big.”

strollonso fic recs pt 2: authors
4 amazing writers whom i am Watching for strollonso content. may or may not be their primary output, but whatever they have is certified delicious. apologies if you've read these many many times just take it as classic literature ;))
[part 1]
all fics below the cut; if you enjoyed these fics, please show the authors comment and kudo love; should you be the author of a fic that's here, and don't want to be here, please reach out to me and your wish is my command :)
@alpaine:
a strollonso pioneer (these works were written in 2022!) somehow i do not detect a single trace of rancid vibes. almost jarringly wholesome. very good :)
something in the air (T, <1k)
Fernando Alonso keeps complimenting Lance. It's weird. He's not going crazy, it's weird, right?
this is delicious (fernando Knowing and Choosing to praise lance knowing full well what it does to him........) short and sweet. a little glimpse into interactions that are dizzying to think about.
game misconduct (T, 2.6k)
**BREAKING NEWS 🚨** Alonso to the Canadiens. The return is still being worked out, but expect an official team announcement by the end of the day. “Fuck,” Lance exhaled.
the author really said "i love fanfic because i can write fernando alonso as brad marchand and no one can stop me" and i am compelled. compelled. i think the inherent homoeroticity of ice hockey really helps matters.
"holy shit, alonso" basically encapsulates this fic so well -- all the characters really come through and meld so well despite it being a different sport, and the strollonso is given the space to shine.

2. @wewentcarracing:
for me this is the essence of strollonso. little else comes close :")
silver platter (E, 9.7k)
Lance is well aware that the first word people typically associate him with is "spoiled". He's fine with it. Well; not fine, maybe, but mostly past the point of caring. He's not delusional about it, either. He's gotten more or less everything he's ever wanted, and he wouldn't have any of it without his father. If that makes him soft or weak or a brat or anything else people like to throw at him—whatever, fine. It's a nice life. He can also admit to himself that it's left him kind of ill-equipped for knowing exactly what he wants but not having any idea how he's supposed to get it.
if there is one strollonso fic to read, let it be this.
i adore the way this author does characterisation it is actually insane. the sheer intensity of nando. the way he puts his pussy into it. the magnetic charm and easy confidence. ESTEBAN AS A CHARACTER. and lance oh my goddddd the way you write lance is breathtaking. rich child mindset? how he isn't spoilt per se but there's still this lingering attitude at the back of his mind??? spot on.
also possessive nando might just be my favourite thing: “Let them hear. Why not?” Fernando says, voice rough and low and close enough to Lance’s ear that Lance can feel it against his skin. “Let them see what I do to you.”
all teeth (E, 3k)
Fernando has always been able to play with his food for a long time before he's too hungry to resist it.
this one i am actually addicted to. i have reread it an embarrassing number of times. pOSSESSIVE NANDO. and lance not being as naive as one might expect. the attention to detail here is insane (the parallels between the before and during....... the metaphors.....) the vibes here are like the richest dark chocolate cake. decadent and fantastic and so so rewarding.

3. @vicsy:
so much tenderhorny introspection. excellent character studies.
snapshots (M, <1k)
The photos Fernando keeps on his phone always tell a different story.
it's poetry, is what it is. short and sweet and the scenes it proposes are so fitting and immersive, a tiny glimpse into just how deep their relationship runs.
little flame, consume my hate (M, 17.6k, wip 1/2)
The problem at hand is that Lance can't bring himself to care enough — about his father's wishes, about his fate as the future king, as a ruler of a kingdom standing on a shaky foundation; about slaying a dragon who hasn't scorned him in any way. Even the thought of not coming back and perishing on this unwanted quest doesn’t instill as much fear. He has everything and thousands would wish to be in his place, but his life feels empty and artificial; lacking a spark or a purpose. Or: Lance is a knight who’s sent by his father, the king, on a quest to slay a dragon in order to prove himself. Instead of a mighty beast Lance stumbles upon a peculiar man named Fernando who wears a lavish robe and spends most of his time reading. Or so it seems.
this was such a fun read!! i really admire this author's scene-setting ability, everything is so balanced, detail-rich and a pleasure throughout. also also also also the au/worldbuilding....so much love mwah mwah <3 even through 17k words the narrative is well-paced and well-timed, and really drew me in :) simultaneously scared and excited for part 2!
shatter my life apart (see me for somebody else) (M, 1.5k)
For all of Lance’s naivety, for how easily he follows down that narrow path, it’s a rush no money can buy. A touch here, a not-so-friendly pat there, a show of teeth in a smile that is lethal and Lance knows Fernando wants a taste, craves to do so much more, something unspeakable, something that could turn into the nastiest paddock gossip to this day but it’s exhilarating — knowing he does that to a man by simply existing. Knows that, maybe, he wants it, too.
this needs to be framed and hung up somewhere, i think. author's way with words is insane - the almost dreamlike quality of how lance is blown away by nando again and again, the jarring difference between lance's perceptions and the reality are rendered so beautifully here. a character study to remember.

4. @merenwenformulauno:
you make nando suffer sO MUCH... ....... but i'm still here for it <3
Between Gravel Traps (series) (E, 3-5k per part)
It starts in Budapest, then Spa. Then Zandvoort, then Monza.
i think this took me a few reads to truly wrap my head around. the quality is pretty damn impressive and the potential is insane - a relationship that's a little rough around the edges, but still so distinctly Them. nando brute forcing (?) (there is no way that's the right word) his way into lance's affection is something i definitely did not expect, but plausible and lovely nonetheless. i love the way it's slowly growing into a race by race thing, looking forward to more!
against the clock (E, 28.5k)
fernando is a cop. lance is the wildcat behind the wheel of a bus that can't drop under 50kpm or a bomb goes off. a normal way to fall in love.
i had been putting off reading longfic for sooooo long you had no idea. this one kind of snapped me out of it !! a very masterfully done speed au. (loved all the little references but i will not go into detail bcs i dont want to spoil it here) this author has a penchant for suffering methinks. this work is still unfairly riveting despite all the pain, and the deliciousness of bonding through trauma is UNMATCHED.
***
that's all for today and thank you for reading to the end of this very lengthy rec list hee hee....there's actually so much more to this growing corner of ao3 so keep an eye out for more amazing works!!
if you enjoyed this, or if i missed any fic, please let me know :) drop me an ask mayhaps if you would like more fic recs, and i will try my best to give timely unqualified opinions <3
