rewatching s1 of The Boys again (because I’m insane) and I was pausing to look at the set design bc I think in general it’s interesting and occasionally very funny

and 1. theres so many pictures of Hughie and Robin around his room but one that they focus on was very obviously taken on set on the day they shot the first scene asdhffgsd??? also he’s got a wooden hand that he made to flip people off

2. my god. they really said he’s an audiophile and ran with it because he has like 4 different record players stacked on top of each other, several stacks of vinyls, random pairs of headphones around the room, 2??? massive amps??? (I can’t see any instruments in the room that he would be using those for so. I guess he just has them), so many speakers just sitting there for some reason. His neighbors must hate him so much

3. theres a bunch of misc wires on his desk that I thiiink might be a soundboard but im not 100% sure (update: it might be a disassembled music box???)

4. I noticed the assortment of gaming controllers on his desk but i did not notice the novelty cup collection he has (he immediately destroys this .2 seconds after you first see it)

5. There’s a giant stuffed snake hanging on the wall behind his door

6. and my personal favorite detail is the coat rack he has in his room solely for his flannels. this man is bisexual and you can’t convince me otherwise.

conclusion: he’s a massive nerd and the sterility of his apartment with annie in s3 is representative of how his grief has consumed him so much that his old interests and hobbies are nearly invisible now (something something trauma changes you irreparably)

A LOT about my new place is not set up but the bookshelves are arranged and my office is fucking beautiful, and really nothing else matters.

#as I typed this out i realized i probably should've finished putting away my FUCKING CLOTHES today but alas #i spend so little time in my bedroom cuz I've got better places to be. so it's fine.#posts that would make even the most amateur astrologer go 'earth sign' at the first item and 'capricorn' at the second #okay but both of them are REALLY nice looking.#the bookshelves have a bit of decor missing and there's one thing the office needs (the end of the desk affixed with a new leg)#but that's IT #also my boy is now in my zoom background which is VERY funny to me #not really like. in a way you can see lol BUT #i will know 😌

I don't think accidentally stumbling upon bram stoker's dracula playing at a halloween party when I was 5 & staying and watching it in secret had any effect on me at all (no one look at my blog lately)

#so liiiike we were at these family friends' house. they lived down the street and they were SO FUN and nice and wonderful #truly they were just great ppl. and the wife was SO into creative stuff and she would go ALL OUT for parties esp Halloween #all the adults would dress up and the house was elaborately decorated it was SO MUCH FUN!#and they had 3 boys around my ahe and the husband had a daughter from his 1st marriage and she was much older like a teen #and she abd her friends had rented the movie and they were told they could watch it on the condition that they ONLY watch it #in the master bedroom away from all the kids #welllll I had to go to the bathroom but the main bathroom was occupied but I knew I was alloeed to use the master bath #so I went into the room to go to the bathroom and walked in right in the beginning when vlad is impaling ppl and I was like #wait a minute what is THIS this is something I'm not supposed to see ooooohhhhh #so I peed and then pretended to leave & hid and watched the movie lmfao #all the adults were making margaritas lmao I was like hell yeah watching a big scary adult halloween movie!!!!!#erin explains it all #these typos all stay idk what to tell you man I don't have my glasses on and my nerve damage is still not great 🤷‍♀️
