Maybe I just missed it but is there any specific reason Rebecca dislikes Bobby so much during the Bobby path when they are an ex? Or is it just because they are... Well, Bobby?

Rebecca is aware what Bobby did to the MC, and of all things Rebecca hates betrayal. Like, it's one of the things that actually can make her express actual anger, lol!

So yeah, not only was it her kid that Bobby was a jerk too, but in a way that really aggravates her.

One thing about Bobby that will never not be funny to me is the contrast between the character they actually are vs the character they are on paper.

Like, if you try to explain them a kind of detached factual way, they are a journalist for a small local newspaper trying to expose shady operations of the police. And the police in their town is shady. In fact, they are working with an even shadier secret government organisation with the goal to keep regular people in the dark about the actual state of the world. So the journalist sounds like someone you should be rooting for. But then you read the actual text and, well...

Basically, what I'm saying is that Bobby would be hailed as the hero of the people if they could just stop being an asshole for 2 goddamn seconds.

woman!bobby is the most chaotic delightful character.

It may be an unpopular opinion but i actually like Bobby... At first i was kinda disappointed with choosing Bobby's path because there's no drama as my detective and her don't have any previous history together (they are just acquaintances). But now, seeing these two play mind games 4d chess with each other makes everything worth it lmao

i have such an insane amount of bobby marks brainrot. like it’s not even funny anymore.

honestly me too. i wish they were an ro option or at least a side romance option. but i would be satisfied if at the very minimum to see more about their past with mc and their own background in the coming books. 😭

right!!

like i get why they’re not an RO option in the context of the wayhaven universe, that sort of romance doesn’t really fit into the type of story the author is going for and the almost fairytale-esque atmosphere of twc.

but a side romance? absolutely. also ive mentioned this like a million times but i absolutely refute the idea that bobby is a bad kisser and is bad in bed. like no let’s be real, it’s one of the few things they have going for them…..

also YES! i need more bobby lore ASAP!! but i also love that bobby is kind of a malleable character? like they truly are whatever you make of them. everyone of my detectives has a different dynamic with bobby, and bobby is slightly different in everyone of my playthroughs. kind of how rebecca & the mc’s relationship is what you choose to make of it.

I've been replaying M's route and I've to say it's my fave. This time I managed to get high relationship with Bobby (who's obviously not over the MC) and it made me think.

How would M react if Bobby told them something along the lines of "you might be sleeping with MC right now, but I know what's it like to be loved by them"

What would post book 3 M think about that? Would it even bother them? And what about the other ROs?

Hmm, good question!

I’m not sure it’s something that would have occurred to M to think of! But after Bobby would have brought it up, M would immediate shrug it off.

It’s not until later when it would wiggle and worm at them, and they’d be confused just why that statement is bothering them so much, hehe! :D

It definitely would be a thought that lingered for M at this point in the romance.

*TWC Book 3 SPOILERS*

The drama of a post-book 3 triangle with the Detective, A, and Bobby in certain routes has the potential to be *chef’s kiss* perfection

-Bobby still being generally terrible but not trusting A (or UB in general) to keep the detective safe

-The detective being so angry/distraught about A’s behavior that Bobby starts to look like a good idea again, or thinking that keeping Bobby close is the best way to convince them not to spill

-A being insanely jealous of Bobby’s increased presence in the detective’s life and trying to interfere

-The UB BFF not entirely understanding that Bobby is a Very Bad Idea, and chastising A for interfering

-Meanwhile Tina, Verda, and Rebecca are all seething over Bobby’s continued existence
